It will take him much further from his London beat than he has ever been before - and closer to a killer who will do anything to protect his new life. Members Reviews: another excellent book! Mark Billingham continues with great audible stories, can't wait for the next one, love Phil Hendricks. No to narrator. Would you listen to From the Dead again? Why? Yes, I enjoy Mark's writing. A different narrator please. What did you like best about this story? The twists and turns. Would you be willing to try another one of Mark Billinghams performances? This is my second because I really enjoy Mark's books, that's the first thing to say. His narration however has become irritating. I can't speak for other devices, I'm listening on an iPad, but practically every sentence has the opening syllable missing. A "she" becomes "he". Really annoying as I began to be confused who he was talking about. Audible- please do something. If you made a film of this book, what would be the tag line be? I wouldn't. Any additional comments? I'm not sure Mark is the right person to narrate.

Members Reviews: This book is great! It holds you in suspense as well as ... This book is great! It holds you in suspense as well as being a quick read. I also read her first book Murder in Monterey which was equally as exciting. Now waiting for her third boom to come out. If you are looking for a book that you won't put down this is the book for you. Mystery series in the making The storyline was full of sexy, funny characters from the first Arlene Grace book. However, the fun twist was that while the regulars all played in the story, they were overshadowed by the new darker characters. "Murder in Carmel" is terrific, an a real page turner!! An enjoyable read! I recently read "Murder in Carmel" and thoroughly enjoyed it. To me it was a real page turner. In no way was I disappointed with the story plot. The description of each character was so unique described with such diverse personalities. You either felt like you knew them or was grateful you didn't! I was amazed how tastefully those Sensually Hot and Steamy Love Affairs were worded. Once you read the book, you'll know what I mean!! Your imagination will go wild!!! :) and the final chapter has real "peachy" ending!! :) PLEASE, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR and read Ms. Grace's prequel " MURDER IN MONTEREY". It's a must read! Giving the reader a further in depth appreciation of the characters' personalities and a better imaginational feel for the City of Carmel and Monterey. I'm hooked on her books and anxiously waiting for her next edition!!!.

Fly with this hero of the airways as he battles threats to America from the common to the extraordinary! Members Reviews: very fun read, great young pulp writer Great young author does it with pizazz in this pulp fiction book. Great for adults to pre teens, I really enjoyed reading it and was taken to a new place. Follow this guy,. Spies in the sky - always a fun concept Richard Knight was a pulp hero in the 1940s, now revived by the Pulp Obscura line with this anthology of new stories. The basic concept is a simple one and adequately explaining in the introduction: rich playboy Richard Knight is secretly top spy Q, an ace pilot with a secret identity. The supporting cast are also given a reasonable role; he is assisted by his partner the plain and honest Larry Doyle and his superior General Brett while a romance interest is provided by Brett's ward Benita. Real-world issues and politics of the era between wars is mixed with fantastic concepts such as death rays and monsters now normally relegated to science fiction. The stories in the anthology have no real relation to each other but all follow a consistent style and tone while still providing their own unique variations. In Hell's Hand by Josh Reynolds Knight must face a band of airborne pirates terrorising European air-travel and destabilising its fragile peace. The villain is effectively ruthless and twisted but while his insanity is shown clearly his motives and origin are not included. The story worked with a strong premise but felt as if it were too short to do it justice and the ending in particular seems abrupt compared to its build-up. Nonetheless, the near continuous action and the chilling descriptions make up for the simplicity of the narrative and the both threat and Knight's competence in meeting it are well established Doyle is given a larger role in Richard Knight and the Stones Of Heaven by Barry Reese and provides both solid back up for Knight and some welcome humor to the narrative. A group of artefact-hunting Nazis clashing with Knight in their efforts to build a death ray is a very traditional story but still retains its charm. The writing is strong and engaging and the only possible criticism is that the one aerial battle is limited, included because it is a standard feature of Keyhoe's plots rather than for its contribution to the narrative. The story is split into chapters in the style of the original stories and this works well in breaking up the action and the stages of what is in essence a step-by-step story. When a freak crash leads to the destruction of a whole town Knight is left struggling against an invading force and an unkillable monster in The Bapet by Terry Alexander.

Blacks Narrator: Elle Sommerling Format: Unabridged Length: 15 hrs and 40 mins Language: English Release date: 12-21-16 Publisher: RJB Publishing Ratings: 3 of 5 out of 1 votes Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense Publisher's Summary: A romantic thriller about trust, love, and deception, and about one womans quest to overcome an unforgiving world that has torn her life apart. Indigo Wells is an ambitious and slightly offbeat grad student with two great passions: to secure a PhD in environmental science and to marry her mentor, a suave, sexy professor who has been her crush since her first day in college. But her PhD is denied when a multinational corporation attacks her research, calling it reckless and damaging to the companys image. Then, they threaten to pull funding. She seeks advice from her mentor, but he unexpectedly turns against her, demanding favors in return for influence. When she refuses, she finds herself dropped from the university. The experience is so jarring that she realizes, for the first time in her life, she has no one to turn to. At her lowest point, she unloads her despair onto a homeless veteran who convinces her to continue her research at a Florida nature center owned by his brother. She buys into the story, so they both set off for Florida. When they arrive, she is immediately infatuated with the brother, a well-built and decidedly interesting Seminole Indian. But things go downhill from there. The brother despises outsiders and is hostile to her. Then, as time passes, the relationship thaws and he introduces her to some age-old Indian customs, which she embraces with fervor. When the local authorities engage the brothers assistance to resolve some bizarre alligator attacks on humans, she chimes right in, using science to help solve the mystery. Her research becomes the basis of a successful but unusual legal attack on the company that got her fired from the university. Alligator Park is a story of persistence and determination against overwhelming odds. Members Reviews: Irritating because if excessive details The plot is excellent but the main character is burdened with too much self doubt. Too many occasions when a normal person would respond but the main character is consumed with doubts and hesitations. Ridiculous portrail of an intelligent accomplished woman who acts like a scared little girl throughput the entire story. Drove me nuts having to listen to how this heroine was always the poor victim except for the last 2 chapters. and even then it took a man to make her realise her true calling. Give me a break. It's 2016, not 1850.

Title: Still Waters, Tough Love Author: Roger Granelli Narrator: Jan Cramer Format: Unabridged Length: 1 hr and 42 mins Language: English Release date: 11-21-16 Publisher: Audible Studios Genres: Mysteries & Thrillers, Suspense Publisher's Summary: Gina Gambino wants revenge. Her life has been turned upside down with the murder of her two hoodlum sons, but she knows who's done it. Her target is Don Francini, leader of one of the most powerful mafia families in Palermo. Using her brain and her body, Gina worms her way into his household, becoming first his housekeeper then his mistress, weaving a complicated web of poison and murder. It seems her plans are going well until one disastrous night. Still Waters, Tough Love is full of vivid and dramatic set pieces, with a plot that twists and turns like a snake on a hot Sicilian rock. Think The Godfather, but with greater inside knowledge. Members Reviews: Four Stars Looking forward to part II. An excellent, well written story that is well worth a read. I downloaded this Single in the UK. It's the second tale by this author set in Palermo, Sicily. I've enjoyed Granelli's previous work and Still Waters, Tough Love is up to his usual high standard. He seems always able to combine excellent literary skills with very readable stories, which is getting rare, in my opinion. Still Waters,Tough Love is a tale of a woman's revenge which grabbed me straight away from its dramatic start. It's full of real, fleshed- out characters and dialogue with plenty of plot twists, the one near the end being really good and totally unexpected- for this reader anyway. This long short story is a great way to spend a few hours for very little money. I highly recommend it.
