as a three year old is just as fresh today in the subconscious mind as it was then. And you are operating 95% of the time from the subconscious mind. So the relevance is this regular life. 5% wishes, desires, aspirations, positive thinking. 95% envision invisible subconscious behavior. So your life is not created by wishes and desires. Your life is created by programming. You have been programmed.
The brain is a computer, most powerful computer that humans have ever experienced. But it has parallels to computers and number one is this. In the old days when you would buy a computer, before they put the programs in, you could bring it home, brand new computer, plug it in, push start, boots up, screens on and I say do something. And people well no, I can't do anything. You got a brand new computer. First you have to put programs into a computer before you can use that computer. The brain of a human is the same thing. The screen lights up in the last trimester of pregnancy. It's ready, but there are no programs. So the first seven years of a child's life, the brain is not operating at the higher level of consciousness. Higher level, higher vibration. That's what we talk about. We put wires on a person's head. Electroencephalograph read brain function. A child up through seven is not operating at consciousness except for a little bit. It's primarily operating at a lower vibration called theta. And I said, well what does theta? I say it's expressed as imagination. So that's how children can have a Tea party, and they pour nothing into the cup, and then they drink the nothing. And then they explain how that was the best thing they ever had. Or a child rides a broom, saying, it's a horse. In the child's mind, that is not a broom, it's a horse. But it's mixing imagination and reality. But theta is hypnosis. And the significance of that is children have to learn how to become a member of a family, the rules, member of a community, the rules. I go, how can an infant, a young kid, learn these rules? They can't go to school, they can't read the book and all that. And I say, you don't have to. Nature provided theta hypnosis so that they can observe the parents, the family, and the community. Just observe their behavior and download those as programs. The conscious mind, which has wishes and desires and can steer you to those destinations, can also think. Think. I said, what's that?
I said, consider your body as a
vehicle with a steering wheel. When the conscious mind has got its hands on the wheel, it's looking out the window and driving us toward wishes, driving us toward desires. I go, great. But if the conscious mind is thinking, it's not looking out the window anymore.
Why?
A thought is inside. You want to think, go inside your head. You have to think. You can close your eyes. You can think easier with your eyes closed. Well, I'm going inside.
I go, well, if you're going inside
and thinking, then you're not looking out.
I go, that's the problem.
Because give you a simple example where it could be the biggest problem. I say, you're driving your car with your conscious mind. I'm going to go here and I'm going to turn at this place.

I'm going to do all this and

you're driving and all that. But what if you start thinking about, well, oh, geez, when I get to the store, I'm going to buy this

and I'm going to buy that.
Dr. Bruce Lipton
And I say, oh, you're thinking. I said, at that moment, you're not looking out the windshield. I go, you're driving the car. You're not looking out the windshield. I go, don't worry.
The subconscious has a program of driving
the car because you. It was a habit you acquired. So I guess what? The moment I'm thinking, I let go of looking out the window.
The subconscious is autopilot. It will step in, grab the wheel
and drive me, but not drive me to my wishes and desires.
Conscious mind.
It will drive me to wherever direction the person I Downloaded the behavior from. If they have a glitch in their behavior, then when I'm not paying attention, I'm playing that glitch. Do I see it? No. Because I'm not even looking out the damn window. So whatever behavior I'm playing when I'm
thinking, I'm the one that can't see it.

So I stand back and go, wait a minute. Your life is a printout of your programs. So the idea is this. All you have to do right now is just look at your life and go, the things you like that come

into your life, well, they come in

because you have programs to acknowledge those things. But this is the one. The things that you desire and you want, but you struggle. You work hard. You put a lot of effort into it. I'm sweating over it. I'm going to make this happen. I'm working really hard to make it happen. Why are you working so hard? And the answer is, inevitably that destination you're seeking, that destination is not supported by your program. And then you're trying to override the program. Very, very difficult to do. And so basically it says, well, wait, we are programmed. I go, yep, that's the foundation of the matrix. All of us are programmed. We're running these programs. 95% of the time. We do not see these programs. We only see the consequence of these programs. So if you don't mind, I'll use an example that I've been using since 1980, because there's not a better one yet. And that is you have a friend, and you know your friend's behavior, and you happen to know your friend's par. And then one day you see your friend has the same behavior as their parent, which gets you, hey, Bill, you're

just like your dad.

Back away from Bill. Because I know exactly what Bill's going to say. And you know it if you've ever said it. And Bill's going to say, how can you compare me to my dad? I'm nothing like my dad. But everybody else sees that Bill's like his dad. Who's the one who doesn't see it? Bill.

I go, why not?

Because when he's playing the programs he downloaded from his dad, he's the one

that doesn't see it.

Everybody else sees it. So all of a sudden it says, your life is not being controlled by your wishes and desires while you're running the program. And you run the program 95% of the day, because that's the amount of time you're thinking, so are you creating the life you want. I go, not necessarily at all. As a matter of fact, you're creating

the life you've been programmed to create.
We become disempowered by programming. I say, why? Because people knew if I disempower you, then I'm more powerful than you. That's how people got more powerful.
Did they get more powerful? I say, no, they were powerful already.
You were powerful, but no, you were programmed not to be powerful. And so we are downloaded with programs of limitation that take away our power, except for those who don't go into that.

What are those areas that deport that program? Us with disempowered, limiting beliefs. Like, what are those areas?
Dr. Bruce Lipton
I'll give you the biggest one. Oh, genes control my life. Oh, I am a victim of my genes. So whatever happens to me, I had nothing to do with it. The genes, they go, bad program. Because epigenetics is the new program that says, no. Your consciousness is adjusting your genes. You want to change your life, change your consciousness. The moment you change your consciousness, you can create a whole new life. Well, let me just add that because when I started understanding the nature of how cells work, which is genes do not control anything. And that comes from a world of when people believe genes control their life and they own. I'm a victim of my heredity, and I can't do anything about it.
I go, well, it turns the other
way around, because the science of epigenetics is how your perceptions of the world adjust your genetics, and therefore you can change your perceptions. All of a sudden, now you have power. Okay, well, this is a really critical understanding. And I got so excited. It's like, oh, my God. This is the whole way of control.
I thought about it.
I said, you could create the most wonderful life if you understand this. And so I tried to get some people together and say, here's the process, and, you know, this is how you can create this wonderful life.
And then they look at me and
go, you know, Lipton, for a guy who says, you know how to do this, your life doesn't look that good.

And I realized, oh, I'm talking and clearly not walking what I'm talking about. And that was the change that I had to take and Tarek and talk about. I had to take the conscious mind and say, wait a minute. I have to control this thing with my conscious mind and not let my programs run away. And when I did, my life changed to my reality, personally, is I don't die and go to heaven.

heaven, because this is where we came to create. And science has now provided us an insight as to why. And the answer is this.
Falling in love.
You stop thinking. You stay present. You stay what is called mindful. Why? You've been waiting for this person to come along your whole life. They show up. Is this the time to think?
No, it's time to be here.
And so what was the point? The first time in most people's lives they stopped playing the program? It only took 24 hours to realize. And another world. And I go, that world is always here, but you're playing the program, and therefore you can't see it. And if you understand it, then you could have heaven on earth every day. When you realize it was the programs that were taking me away from that, and if I reprogram it, I can have a whole different world.
You created the honeymoon effect, and you unconsciously lost it. My significance of being out here is to tell you a. How you created it, why you created it. And the most important thing is how come you lost it, and why is that important? Because there's a science behind it. There's a science, and the significance is profound. For this reason, if you understand how you created the honeymoon and you understand why you lost the honeymoon, then think about the simple reality. Now I really understand how you change it. And the idea is, well, how do you change a program? That was the issue. Not how you change the conscious mind. How do you change the subconscious mind? Because it doesn't learn. Conscious mind learns by just whatever you read the book. I learned it, okay? Subconscious mind doesn't learn that way. I say, how does it learn? I say, well, in the first seven years, that's when I said the programming went in. The brain wasn't functioning at the higher level of consciousness. It was actually a little lower. That was called theta, the vibration, the imagination and all that. That's hypnosis, okay? So the first way we learned programs was hypnosis, because the.

The function of the brain wasn't. It was at a high. At a low, you know, lower vibration. Some people might remember the old days when hypnotherapy, they. They'd have a watch, and the hypnotherapist said, you know, swing the watch back and forth. And they would say, you're getting tired. You're getting tired. And what was the point? When you get tired, you lower the vibration of the brain. And the moment you fall asleep, actually consciously, the next level of activity of the brain is theta before it goes down to the lowest vibration, delta sleep. So at every night when you go to bed, there's a period just after you close your eyes, and you're essentially disconnected for a moment. Your brain is operating in theta. Well, theta is hypnosis, okay? So I said, well, that's how you.

Your brain was in theta during that childhood period as predominantly. Now you're an adult. I said, yeah, but you have theta every night when you go to bed. So I said, what can you do? And this is the old story. You've heard. People do it. You put a pair of earphones on at night, you play a program that you want to be true in your life. And while you're awake, you might hear the program. But it's the moment you fall asleep, the conscious mind shut off, but the subconscious mind is now in record theta. So whatever is coming through the earphones at that moment after you fall asleep, you don't hear it, but the subconscious mind is hearing it and downloading it in a state of theta. So the first way of changing a belief system is to get into theta. And this is called self hypnosis. Put the earphones on, play the program. Programs for health, happiness, love, joy, whatever, and just go to sleep, which is really cool because you don't have any. There's no studying here. You just play the program.

I mean, so you're saying when we're tired. So that's I guess last thing at night, maybe first thing in the morning as well.
Same thing.
Dr. Bruce Lipton
But it's a little harder to judge when you're coming away rather than when you're going to sleep.

Got it. So let's say the nighttime just before you go to bed, a really important part of the day where you can, I guess, consciously make a decision to reprogram your subconscious mind. What does this look like? Is this self recordings that people make? Are there hypnosis programs that they download or sometimes people will fall asleep to conversations like this. These. So help me understand. Help us all understand. Is it something specific or are all of these things helpful?
Dr. Bruce Lipton
Well, all these things are helpful, but the most specific ones are when you put in a program that you specifically want to be true in your life. You want. You're not having good relationships. Well, there these programs are available all like bookstores and online. They're called self help programs, basically. And I say, well, you can them for anything, whether it's job related, relationship related, you pick out the one you want. And then I say, just play this.

And.
Dr. Bruce Lipton
And the point is, the moment you're falling asleep, the only part of you that is hearing that program is the subconscious, because that's how it works in theta. So you can download. It's called self hypnosis. And that's how you can do it. That's number one. I'm talking about natural in a natural child. Theta is the present program for first seven years. It's Predominantly that.

So they're in theta, so they're absorbing everything. But when we become adults, we're not in theta apart from at specific times.
Dr. Bruce Lipton
But you can still learn. You learned how to drive a car after age seven. You know, you learned a lot of, like, play an instrument after you're age seven.

That's not hypnosis, though, is it? So method one is hypnosis. Yes, but it sounds like there's other methods of, well, to change the program after age 7.
Dr. Bruce Lipton
The second way that you put programs in is doing something that you practice and repeat practice and repeat habituation. You make a habit by practicing it. And so you don't know how to play an instrument. You practice, you practice, you practice, you finally get it. You don't have to practice anymore. You can just pick up the instrument and play it. Or driving a car, you don't have to worry about all the details of. First time you got in the car was all, my God, there are mirrors, windows, gauges, pedals, you know, paying all. So many things you have to pay attention to.

You get in the car, you put the key and you start it up, and you're thinking about where you're going, why the rest of the driving is habit. You don't have to think about all those things. It's automatically programmed. So habituation is the second form. That was not an accident. It wasn't a coincidence.

It was.

You stopped playing the program and started living from the conscious mind, which is wishes and desires and manifested heaven on earth. It was always there. It was always there. Except if you're only using that mind 5% of the day, it's really tough to experience that. But if you can use it 90% of the day, then your life actually is now heaven on earth, which is honeymoon. And all of a sudden I say, then what's the significance of this? And the answer was, it's the programs
that have taken us away from health
and vitality and harmony and peace and love. And if you stop playing those programs, and for that moment, you stop, you are actually now creator of your life. And what will you create? Heaven on earth because. Because that's what everybody wants. That's what you're gonna get.
