Hello, I'm Jamie Lang.
B
And I'm Sophie Lang.
A
And we've been married for two years.
B
And we're having a baby.
A
Yes, we are.
E
Are you ready?
A
Let's go.
B
Welcome, welcome, welcome. My name is Sophie Salvatore.
A
Who is Sophie? Salvador. Who is that, my dearest?
B
Well, it's just me pretending I'm married to Stefan. Salvador. It's my birthday. I'm 28. And we've got Stefan. They all of the team here just had Stefan Salvatore. Mask on. Paul Wesley. Mask on. But I fancy Stefan. I don't know if I fancy Paul Wesley.
A
Okay, so I'm currently wearing a mask at the moment, but should I just take it off? Because it's your. Okay, I'm going to take it off. So how much do you love Stefan from Vampire Diaries? How much do you. How much do you love Stefan from Vampire Diaries?
B
You look weird. And if he's coming in and I'm this pregnant, I'll hate you all because the first time I meet him, I cannot look like this.
A
Okay, so Paul Wesley, Stefan from Vampire Diaries.
B
Yeah.
A
You really like him a lot, right?
B
Yes. You're being weird now.
A
I know you hate surprises.
B
Don't do this. It's ridiculous. I go into labor. It's not funny at all.
A
I know he hates the riders.
B
No, I know he's not coming in because Ewan doesn't look. Lewan usually would have a straight face because he wouldn't want to give anything away.
A
Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome to the podcast.
B
Why is Jake standing up?
A
Please welcome to the podcast, Paul Wesley. He's coming in now.
B
Don't even, guys. Jake. Oh, my God. Thank God. Jake just looked under a cushion. Cuz I thought you were going to open the door and I was like, why is he doing it so nonchalant? I let me tell you. Excited.
A
Were you about that?
B
Not excited. When I'm 6 months postpartum and hopefully like feel a little bit more like myself, I bring that puppy in. But don't you sabotage me right now, because I will.
A
Hello, Paul.
B
Like what I want. I can't even walk. I probably wet myself when he walked in. Like, that is so cruel if you did that.
A
Wait, what is it about him that you love so much?
B
You just don't know you just don't know.
A
He looks nothing like me. He's like, it couldn't be more opposite than you.
B
Fancy Kylie Jenner. She looks nothing like me, by the way. What are you spending?
A
I don't know what's wrong with me, but I keep spending wherever this is.
F
True, guys.
A
Everywhere we go, I walk, I'm smelling.
B
And I'll swear you, because my nose is like a hound everywhere I walk.
A
And I was having a meeting with someone, one of. One of my friends this morning, and I kept thinking he was farting.
B
No, don't. I don't like laughing anymore. My stomach's in so big and stretched. This baby fills up the whole thing. When I laugh, it feels like I'm not Okay.
A
Honestly, I had a meeting and I was like, why is he. Why is my friend Cossie farting during this meeting? I swear on my life. And I was like, you stink. And he wasn't bringing it up. And I was like, it's so rude. He's, like, doing that. And I can still smell. I smell like fart.
B
Come here.
A
I smell.
B
Let me have a proper smell because my nose is, like, unbelievable. You taste one of anything, so you've obviously got corn nose.
A
What is corn nose?
B
Right? Corn nose is when you smell tortilla chips up your nose. Has anyone smelled that? And don't lie to me, guys. I know.
A
No, I smell fart.
B
I want to know if anyone in this room has sniffed their nose, just been breathing away. They're in the shower, wherever they are, and they smell tortilla.
A
Yes, I've smelled tortilla before.
B
Okay. We're disgusting. Yeah. Okay, well, Google what that means when you smell corn.
A
If you smell tortilla. Tortilla chips. Corn tortilla chips. What does that mean? Here we go. I'm Googling right now. If you smell corn or tortilla chips, it means you have a bacterial infection.
B
Yeah, it's a yeast infection.
A
It's a yeast infection if you smell corn.
B
Okay, so me and my friend were like, God, we can just find corn everywhere. We'd obviously, like, spread this yeast infection between us. And we Googled it, and we were fascinating.
A
But there was a solid because you'd been scissoring.
B
Like, you've done so weird in this whole podcast. Like, sometimes I see clips.
A
It was like a tick, and I couldn't stop. I honestly, it was. It was a tick that I couldn't. I couldn't stop. I'm so sorry.
B
Okay, well, anyway, the corn thing is a real thing. If anyone Smelled corn. You just got a yeast infection. I'm not sure how you get rid of it.
A
Okay.
B
I love the smell of corn.
A
I love the smell of corn. I know I just smell fart.
B
And I'll tell you something else. This is just a real day to just purge all the things floating through my ADHD brain. But since being pregnant, I see things. I see things. Like, I'm walking down the street and I see, like, a dog, and then I look and there's no dog. I'm sorry. It's happening all the time, and it has been a pregnancy thing, and I. I don't want to Google it because I've been told so many times that I'm a psychic. And I'm walking up the stairs in a house, and I. Something. A sheep in the corner or something.
A
And I'm like, sheep.
B
Always something. I see there is something in the corner of my eye at all times. And I look, and it's just empty space. And I'm like, what.
A
What do you think that is?
B
My psychic problems are trying to come out of me, but I'm hot. I'm. I'm so close. I don't want them to escape. I won't really allow them to come into fruition.
A
You don't have psychic things.
B
I am so psychic, and, you know, it's okay.
A
I want to say to you, happy birthday.
B
Thank you.
A
I love you. Beyond you could possibly ever imagine. You are my favorite person in the world. And the fact that we're about to have a kid together as well, the most exciting thing. And I know on this podcast, sometimes we josh around and we make fun of each other and we dig at each other and all those things, underneath all of that, underneath all that funny banter that we have on the surface, there is this, like, deep love that I cannot describe that I have for you. And you are simply the most wonderful person I've ever met.
B
Oh, my God. Thank you so much. Sorry.
F
You say that.
A
Why can't you just take it?
B
Because there's 500 people and poor fucking Wesley staring at me.
A
Give a shit.
B
No. I love you so much. Thank you very much.
A
Thank you very much. Here's your certificate. Like, what are you.
B
What do you want me to do?
A
It's like you just. It's like you've just been made a prefect. Like, honestly, why does that not how normal people respond?
B
Normal people can't be as loving as you are in public. I'm sure of it. It's not allowed to be like that in public spaces. With five people watching us.
A
If I had my way, I would snog you all the time.
B
I know.
A
Everywhere we went, I would tell you how much I love you all the time.
B
Jamie genuinely thinks it's. I'm like, I really mean that. I don't declare my love him in public 247 by snogging him.
A
No. We had a conversation about love languages, and I said, what's my love language? And you didn't even know what my love language was.
B
I'll tell you what your love language was. You told me that your love language was people to service because you wanted me to pay my parking bills. And so I repeated, your love language is acts of service. To which you said, no, it's affirmations, which obviously I knew.
A
Anyway, I do want to say on your birthday, happy birthday.
B
I see some little presents there.
A
Okay, well, would you like your presents now?
B
Yes. Oh, my goodness.
A
Which one would you like to open first?
B
The big one.
A
You want to open the big one first?
B
This is so lovely wrapped. Well done. Okay, so it's a box that says chuckle on it. Pregnancy belly casting kit. Preserve your memories forever. So you want me to do arts and crafts on my stomach? I am so excited. Create the puff. It keeps it with this unique belly casting kit.
A
We. We basically get a lot of clay and put it over your stomach, and we get to keep your stomach forever, and we can paint on it.
B
That's really cool. I don't think I'll be using that, but I'll give it to my next pregnanc friends.
E
Are you.
A
Why are you not gonna. Are you kidding me?
B
You want me to put paper mache all over my stomach?
A
Yeah. And we keep the belly.
B
You know that there's a thing called instead of a baby moon, it's called something. And then men on their baby stacks or whatever you have, they drink out of the cast of the pregnant woman's belly.
A
None of that made sense. I don't. I don't even know where that story went. I don't even know what happened.
B
Just cut it out then, because I don't know either.
A
No, keep it in, Yui. Keep all of this goodness in.
C
Right?
A
We have another present for you.
B
Okay.
A
Here we go.
B
This looks like a tub of lube. Just guessing.
A
A tub of lube.
B
Like a.
F
Some lube.
A
Take it open, read it and weep.
B
Vaginal tightening cream. Hydration. Lift and tighten and rejuvenate for your vagina. Thank you so much.
A
And the good news is you can use it on your butthole as well.
B
You could do that. They are unbelievable.
A
You're not even. You're just throwing it at me.
B
I'm so happy I'm not going to be using some tightening cream.
A
All right, well.
B
My vagina, baby. I will actually.
A
Honey. Happy birthday.
B
Thanks, honey.
A
How do you feel about your age? How do you feel about where you are in life? How do you feel about everything?
B
I feel good. I feel very excited. I feel like it's really creeping up that we're gonna have this baby. And are you feeling excited, though, about it? I'm so excited. I'm so, so excited. I love that it's winter and autumn like that to me.
A
Isn't that amazing? It's time and we're gonna soon. And this is your last birthday you're ever, ever gonna have. Last birthday you're ever gonna have something.
B
Gonna die. What do you mean? It's my last birthday I'm ever gonna have.
A
You're not gonna die. This is your last birthday you're ever gonna have. As like both of us together.
B
It's honestly, it's every day. I'm like drinking my coffee. This is the last coffee we're gonna have, just the two of us. This is the last time we're gonna walk down the street, just the two of us.
E
I'm like, oh, my God.
B
Okay, that's the last egg you're probably gonna have. Just the two of us.
A
I'm so excited.
B
Your birthday is gonna be your last 30. You're gonna be 37.
F
No.
A
Stop claiming my age.
D
You are.
A
Just keep it anonymous.
B
You're go.
A
You're 39 and you look 48. Use that vaginal cream everywhere.
B
It's going to be your last birthday, just the two of us.
A
I know. I'm excited for that.
C
Me too.
B
Tap your toe.
A
Because it's your birthday and because we love you, we wanted to give you some messages from some people who love you as much as I do. And so we have some that we're going to play into right now for your wonderful birthday. Happy birthday, honey. We love you so much.

A
And her girlfriend, Ella Rutherford. I cannot wait for this. On your birthday episode. We had them coming in.
B
Grace, to me, is one of the funniest people in the world.
A
Yeah, she's the absolute best. She's going to be coming in very soon. Are you really excited for it?
B
I'm so excited because I don't know so much her girlfriend, but you tell me she's personality. Why she's as funny as Grace.
A
Very, very funny.
B
Imagine being in that relationship. You just die of laughter the whole time.
A
Yeah, a bit like you with me. That's the relationship we have. You're constantly laughing at me the whole entire time. By the way, we're also going to mix up the episode today. You're probably expecting some listeners messages. It's normally what we do in the episode, so. But because we have Ella and GK coming on, we've decided today we're going to save those. Keep sending them in. We want to hear from you. But today we're going to hold on them and we're going to go straight into talking to our guests. Grace and Ella, welcome to the po.
B
You guys are by far my most excited I've ever been for a guest.
E
Really? 100% I needed that. Thank God.
A
Why? Really?
B
Because I thought, how fun. That was really big.
A
Is this the first podcast you've done on another show together?
E
We did one before, but this is the one we're most excited for, I would say.
A
Ella, do you find, do you find it easy to go on these things with Grace?
D
No.
E
She doesn't really do stuff in front of the camera.
A
Do you?
E
It's like when I went to our first football game, I thought, I'm very out of me depth. Like, thank God there's a bar because otherwise I'd be lost.
A
Wait though, what was the first football game? Like, who was it versus? Can you remember?
F
I was injured at the time that she met me, so I brought her to a game that was.
A
Don't say what came.
D
Who was it?
A
Who was playing?
E
Yeah, it was a Lewis game, wasn't it? It was your friend's game.
F
Who were they playing?
E
Deny. Another football team. I think they're in blue. And I was like, I like clapped after the interval. I clapped thinking we'd scored, but no one told me. They swapped goals.
F
Yeah, she was lost.
E
I was like, oh, my God. Home goal. No home goal. And I was like, yes. And they were like, no, the other team has just scored. So yeah, that is the level it went to. But now I understand. A free kick and a corner. It's my favorite.
A
Which one do you like more frequently?
E
I love a corner. I'll go corner and they'll run into the corner and give it a Kick. I love it.
F
What are they called as a collective?
E
A side piece.
F
No, you score.
E
I'm not a side piece.
F
Side piece.
E
It was a set piece. Set piece from that.
A
Yeah, but I know. Where did you guys meet? For people who don't know.
F
So Grace followed me on Instagram and I was like, to my sister, who is this girl? It was just weird. It was out of nowhere. And then we figured out it was weird. Like, why are you wearing someone?
B
Good cast.
F
We found. Well, I found out that Grace had mutuals with me, so Grace's best friend was with a boy that I met on a cruise.
E
I get seasick, though, so I couldn't have even been involved anyway. But yeah, because I said on my podcast, I had Ella tune on. I said, I'm done with men. I can't physically do it anymore. I want a woman with calves.
D
Yeah.
E
Ponytail, football player. Someone with ambition. Well, my friend heard it and said, have I got the woman for you. So I followed her. I put my. My big girl pants on. I was. I followed down. I threw my phone, and then I just didn't look at my phone. And then you messaged me. I did.
F
I got bored one night because I was like.
E
I was bored that night.
F
I was like. I was. I was after surgeries. I was knackered. And I was just like. I was restless, couldn't sleep. And then I was like, I'm just gonna message you.
E
Yeah.
A
What did the message say?
E
It was, it's now a good time to tell you how beautiful you are. And I said, it's always a good time for that.
F
Because respectfully, there is her comeback. Made it. Made it everything. Because that could have got really.
E
And then she started sexting me and we never looked back.
F
That didn't happen.
B
Wait, I need to actually. So invested. Slow down. Like, I could just the whole.
A
Sophie loves it.
F
This is everything.
B
She needs details. Because you guys are telling me details.
E
She was like. Because we were just. To be honest, we looked back at the messages and it was just flirty. I was like, salah, you look good. You look pretty good. What'd you do? What do you do? As if our whole Instagram was at her playing football. And then we were just flirting, talking, whatever. And then she was like, well, let's meet. So then I. As a joke, I went, oh, you're such a pest. That was me trying to flirt.
F
But in a message, it didn't look like that. It just put, you're a pest.
E
Yeah.
A
And I thought, well, that's rude.
B
She's such a pest.
F
Like, you saying it now is lighthearted, but on a message, you're a pest.
E
Put a winky face. I put a winky face in the message. How did I put. You're such a pest. Yeah, so that's how it was meant to come across. Anyway, she then got angry at me, and I thought, there's no way she's angry at me about this. So we're on the phone and she's like, just fuck off, Grace. And I was like.
F
And I was there in bed, like, crying, like, I had tears in my eyes because I thought, I'm all really sensitive. And then you've just called me a pest.
E
But anyway, I didn't finger you on the first day. And then she moved in.
B
How nervous were you when you didn't.
E
Know what to do? I was like. I was so scared.
B
I kept being like, you know, there's.
E
Like, consent, but kept being like this.
D
All right for you.
E
And how does that feel?
A
It was.
E
It was the most unsexy thing I've ever done in my life.
A
Touching like a live snake. You don't really know what to do.
E
I'm like, am I in the right bit? I didn't.
B
I didn't know.
E
But now I've learned the. The tricks of the trade, so I'm okay now. But to start with, it was horror for you. It was.
A
It was you asking the s. Yeah.
E
I was just like. And what now?
B
Were you guiding?
F
No. So she wasn't that bad.
B
You could give him some.
A
We're not, to be honest. Honestly, I've said this before. When Sophie's hand jobs are like this shot.
E
No, they're not.
A
Or it's like getting ketchup out.
B
Don't even try.
A
That is what it is.
B
Don't even try.
A
And I'm like, this is brilliant.
B
Actually, that is not true.
A
Every single time she do it, she goes, I'm not very good at this, am I? And I. I imagine it's all right. I guess it will do. At least you're looking at it.
E
It's seeing some liar day.
A
Oh, my God. Can I ask? Because obviously, Grace, you dated guys. Is the love just so deep?
E
Yeah, I would say it's very deep.
F
What, with guys?
B
No, with you, I'm thinking.
A
Cause I chatted to Kat Burns, who's an amazing singer, and she dated guys. And then when she. She said, the love that you have when you find a female partner is like something different.
E
I think it's like. Because women are very, like, emotional, and I don't really know how to describe it, but we are just gonna say.
F
To describe me, then. I'm sensitive.
E
Yeah, you're very sensitive, love.
F
But no, it is. It's very like, you guys get each other on more of a deeper level, I think.
E
Yeah. Which is why you move in after the first day. Like, I met Ella and after an hour, when I'm in love.
F
Yeah.
E
Didn't I? And then my gram team were like, you actually need to relax. And I was like, wait, sorry, what?
B
Did you actually move in after the first day?
F
Yeah, rewind.
B
Actually, about that.
E
Even the first day you came to my house, we had a sleepover and.
F
Nothing happened, and then you just had.
E
A cuddle and then you went and got your stuff, and then we just lived together after that. There's no joke.
B
Did you verbally say, do you want to move in? Or was it just like, you're staying here?
E
It's.
F
Well, no, I think within, like, two months, she just came up to me and went, here's the key. Really.
E
You'd been living there anyway.
F
Yeah, since then, but there were a few situations where I needed to probably get in while she weren't home or things like that. So it wasn't really, like, romantic the way she gave it to me, though. You think like, oh, giving your partner a key to your house would be, like, quite cute, you know, little box. She just went, key. I was like, yeah.
E
I was like, you'll need that.
A
We were talking about this the other day because guys and girls are obviously different, so they think differently. But you said if you were to date a woman, you would know exactly what they're thinking.
E
Yeah.
A
The whole time.
F
I mean, you'd like to think, yeah.
A
Yeah, you like the thing. But you didn't kind of understand each other. I imagine when it said, you know, if you're a guy and you did another guy, you kind of understand each other much more. So you kind of can't play so many games.
E
Yeah. And also the arguments are different. I was thinking, in a way, but like, I'm.
F
When, When. When it's that time of the month as well. It is different.
E
We synced as well. It's awful.
A
But.
E
When I dated men, I was nasty in arguments to men that I like. Horrific.
F
But nothing's changed.
E
No, I'm. I'm less with you, but I think it's more like. It's just cat fights that be like. Whereas with a man, I'd be like, I hate you.
B
But the thing is, is, like, with.
E
A man, you kind of can get.
B
Away with doing that because they're just not clever enough to know exactly how to win the argument. Whereas I would not take on a girl.
E
I lose every time.
B
I would lose.
F
No, that's not true. Whatever happens, I'm really stubborn like I am, that is. I'm a Taurus, I'm stubborn. But you will apologize first. So then it's done. Yeah, that's quite good. It works.
B
It blows up more.
E
If you want to lie about this, go ahead.
F
Yes, sir.
E
I'll walk in the door and I'll feel it straight. It will slap me in the face, just the tension in the house. And I'll go, I fucked up. And I'll try and pick because then I'll go, you all right?
B
Yeah, fine.
E
So now I'm piecing together, what have I up on today? Like, what have I done here?
F
No, you're making me sound awful.
E
No, no, it's your stubbornness because I'll go, are you all right?
F
Yeah, fine.
E
Why wouldn't I?
B
Yeah.
F
Because I'm not ready to talk at that moment. So it's like if I start saying it and I'm emotional, it is going to blow up. So I do try and save the.
E
Argument for nine hours later.
A
Do you blow up? Do you? If you can, you blow up then? If you.
E
Yeah.
A
So if you're.
B
I try and do that, I stay calm and I think, why are you probing me? Don't ask me.
F
It's like. Gets to a point where you calm down about it, but then where you've got to speak about it, it goes back up again. The emotions. Yeah, that's what I get. Like, I really try and I'm a.
E
Brusher under the eye.
F
I love it.
E
Yeah. I'm just like, oh.
F
She's like, you then.
E
Yeah, yeah.
A
What, you did that.
D
Whatever.
E
Yeah.
A
Let's just. Let's just not think about it ever again.
E
If we just forget this happened, we'll be fine. That's my way of being with it.
A
It's gone.
C
Yeah.
A
It's actually disappeared. What do you mean, though? That you think that girls are cleverer? Because that's interesting.
B
Cleverer was the key bit there.
E
Yeah.
A
Great. Just a quick handed. You know what always pops up in my TikTok? Grace.
E
Oh, no.
A
When you're asked what race.
E
I knew you were going to say that.
F
It's a Tour de France.
A
Grace has asked what race? The daughter, Frances, and she says French.
E
This is the correct. It's the correct answer.
F
It's a song.
E
Yeah.
F
Jamie's Lost there.
A
Oh, God.
B
That is the correct answer. Like, it is French.
E
It is. It is French. But what do I know?
C
France words.
B
They should say, what activity are you doing when you do the.
A
Okay, all right, fair enough. But that's interesting because you. Do you think guys aren't smart in relationships? I mean, in argument.
B
No, I think women are just way more intellectually. Like, emotionally intellectual as well, though.
F
I feel like men, not me, hating on men.
A
Yeah, go on. You can do it.
B
I feel.
F
No, I feel like men act stupid, but with women, we can't act stupid because we know we're not stupid. Does that make sense?
B
I know exactly what you mean. The men play dumb because they can't be bothered to have the confrontation.
F
They can't be bothered to solve the argument. Females, we all know that. Females, we are. We are clever emotionally. So there's no acting dumb.
A
That is very. That's exactly it. Because guys can act dumb.
F
Yeah.
B
Sometimes you are quite dumb.
A
When am I. Have I been dumb before?
B
Yeah. Emotionally dumb.
A
No, I'm so emotionally intelligent. No.
B
No, you're not.
A
Am I not?
B
Jamie will, like, cancel on, like, his best mate's wedding, and then they're upset with him, and he'll be like, but why would they be upstairs? I've got a job and I'm like, me. I'm like, you're not?
A
Well, yeah, I feel like we're the. It's like a mirrored relationship here. I'm the one to sweep it under. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm at work.
E
I'll get them, like, a Fortnum and Mason basket. I'll be all right.
A
Who said I love you first?
E
I had to, because.
F
Had to.
E
I did. Because we all knew that we both loved each other. But she was going, go on, say it.
F
No.
E
Yeah. And I was like, well, I'm not saying it first.
F
And you're like, all right.
E
And then one day I was like, fuck it. I've got to say it. So before I was going to work, I just went, love you, and then just ran out the room and then just went to work.
F
Yeah. She's got away with words and being romantic. Grace.
E
I didn't want you to be like, yeah, jokes. I don't actually love you. Because then I'd have to go to work thinking about that.
A
Did you set back straight away?
B
Yeah. You went by love you?
F
Yeah. And I said, I love you.
E
Then you screamed in the mirror to yourself, don't.
F
Don't bring that up. Wait, wait.
A
Go on.
E
That's so stupid.
F
The other Day. No, that's nasty. The other day I just told. We just. Sometimes we just speak about the start and, you know, whatever.
A
Yeah.
F
And I said to her, oh, when she left and said that, that I just sat up in the bed and she's got a big old mirror and I just. In the mirror at myself.
A
That's so.
B
That's the best thing that everyone's been there, haven't they?
F
Yeah, I lost all. I lost my.
E
Yeah, that's embarrassing.
F
That's trying to save myself.
B
You knew you loved each other from like, get go.
F
Yeah, yeah, definitely. It was weird cuz, like, obviously I've been with girls previously, but not vicious like I've always known. Oh, this is just a thing. You know what I mean? Yeah, yeah, yeah. But then when I met Grace, I was literally like, on the first day, I was the same.
A
What about introducing each other to families? That's always a big part.
E
Well, I was meant to be. It's funny how you met my father two weeks in. Yeah. So we lived with each other for about two weeks and I was meant to be filming a video with someone and they canceled. So I'd have my glam done and everything.
F
Right.
E
So I was like, I can't waste this. Like, this was a lot of money. And Ella was like, why don't you just come to mine? And I thought, what, to meet at your mom and your siblings? She was like, yeah. So we pulled up at her house and I genuinely thought I was going.
F
To vomit everywhere on the ring doorbell. It was so funny. Like, she's at the front door, like, I'm gonna be sick. Like, rocking. She's gone.
E
Pure wine.
F
I was like, it was the worst.
E
Day because the horse racing was on. Okay, so Rhonda girl was at her mum was at the tv, screaming at.
F
The tv, the Grand National.
E
I walk in and mum's like, fucking go, let's go. And I was like, the little dog tried to bite me. Do you remember Tiny? And then I had like your siblings, like, hi. And I was like, hi. And then I had all the dog. It was. They were all so lovely, but it was one of the most terrifying. I was still a mute three months into the relationship. And then I got comfortable.
A
Really.
E
I was so awkward. Like, I've never been that awkward, but I was just so scared. What a mute.
B
With. Not without, just with the family.
E
Just.
F
Yeah, it was so weird for me because as soon as we go to the bedroom, the doors closed, then she'd just be like, hey, having a laugh. And I Thought you've literally just acted like you don't speak English downstairs.
E
I was just like, it is so uncomfortable. Then you met my parents.
D
Because what.
E
They didn't. Obviously this is the first girl. They didn't even know I was into girls, so I was like, how the. Do I approach this? And they. I'd been saying, I'm staying at my friend Ella's. I'm staying at my friend Ella's.
F
Blah, blah.
A
Had you not.
E
No, they didn't know. So one day they came round and Ella was there and I dropped them back home to the station and they just went, sir, like, how do you know Ella? And I was just like, oh, she's my girlfriend. And they were like, oh, cool.
F
And then that was it.
B
Yeah.
A
Yeah, that's. Yeah.
F
Her parents were great.
B
They knew. They surely knew.
E
I mean, the closet was probably glass, but.
F
Yeah.
A
How. How. How did you come up? Was it. Was it. Was it easy as well?
F
Oh, no, my coming out was outrageous. Yeah. I think I made it worse for myself, though, because I was like being sneaky and like lying to my mom and she was like, no, I know something's happening. And I was like, no, like panicking. But yeah, no, when it all came out, it was fine, but it was just the initial, like me not wanting to say it out loud. I think I struggled a little bit my sexuality.
E
Because you were younger as well?
F
Yeah, I was like 16 when I had my first girlfriend.
A
So for some reason there is still this kind of like complication around it.
F
Yeah.
A
About our sexuality and who we are should be like. And who we shouldn't be liking.
F
Yeah. Even in school, like, there was none of that. So in school I knew that I was a lesbian, but I just. Yeah, I just would never say it. I was. I was just like, so almost the opposite. Like, go home and. And try over compensate and be like, I really fancy this boy in my class, Mom. You know, like one of them ones.
E
Yeah, I was.
F
I struggled for a while, but yeah, once I, like, I think once my family accepted it, it made it so much easier for me to. Then I just sort of. It was just the normal way of life then. I didn't care about the outside and who else cared, you know what I mean?
A
That's me. And also guys, honestly, that's what I find so special about you guys is that so many people follow you on social media and so many people adore you and the fact that you're so open, so in love. Talk about it. So happy to talk about it. That Kind of joy will spread and people go, well, like, I feel that way, whatever it is, I fancy girls or guys or whatever it is, and they can just go for it without even worrying about it, which is amazing. So if someone's listening right now and they're perhaps struggling with coming out themselves, what would you say to them?
F
I mean, I'd like the world to get to a place where this whole coming out thing just wasn't necessary. Because you don't go up to someone and go, hi, I'm Ella, I'm straight. Do you know what I mean? Like, that's just not. That's just not normal. So, one, I'd like that. But obviously we're not in a place right now where that is a thing. If you're gonna do it, I'd just say, don't put pressure on yourself, first of all, because when you're ready, you'll do it. And secondly, I just think I had this, like, as long as the people that I love and care about are fine with it, then I get to be who I want to be and love myself who I am, because then people love me. So it was just like, yeah, it was quite a nice situation to be in. Once that all the dust settled from the lies and then I was a compulsive flyer at that point. Once the dust settled from that, it was just reassuring for me that, like, regardless, my family and my friends were all there for me and loved me. So, like, I couldn't be happier. Sorry, that just got deep.
A
No, are you kidding me? But that's so amazing to talk about and I really appreciate you for sharing that. Honestly, Chiki, you're now a wag. Come on, let's go, baby.
F
Yeah.
A
Oh, frickin right. Ellie, do you think you obviously played for Portsmouth at the moment. Yeah, England.
F
I did growing up. So, like, at 12, I got my first call up for England and then right up until I was like 18, 19 and then injury hit and stuff, and it was just a whole load of mess. But I would like to. Yeah, it's just a case of me, these last couple of years having to, like, work my way back up, which has been quite. I mean, if it weren't for Grace, genuinely. Yeah.
E
Really?
F
Yeah, yeah, genuinely. The surgeon at the time was like, this surgery, I don't know if you'll play again. And I was like, you'd only ever.
E
Done it on one other person before.
F
Yeah. But he was just like, I can't guarantee football at all, but definitely not to the level that you're at now, and I am actually back at the level that I was at when I had it done.
A
Yeah, let's go.
B
Yeah, that's amazing.
F
But genuinely, if it weren't for Grace, I would have probably just fucking sucked it in. Because it was like 12 months and then I was looking at another, like, eight months. Ish. And then not knowing at that point. Point would I get back on the pitch.
E
So.
F
But yeah, when I met Grace, she was like, I want a football. I was like, I have to fucking get up now.
E
I have to walk.
B
Yeah.
E
I was like, I'm gonna watch you play football. So. Yeah, get your crutches on.
A
Really? Is that what you were like? You were just like, come on.
E
Yeah, But I also came to a.
F
Few of my rehab sessions, didn't you?
E
I did, because I was just like. I obviously also didn't understand the extent of what she'd gone through, so I was like, listen, get up. This is just a knee injury. You're fine. Like, you've got this.
F
It was quite nice, actually, because she didn't know. It was just, like, took my mind off it completely. She would never sit there and be like, how's your knee feeling? So then automatically I wouldn't be thinking about how I'm feeling about my knee or anything like that. She was just so normal and a breath of fresh air. Because I was like. I did have to think about it when I was with her.
B
Yeah.
A
Grace.
E
I know. I'm a saint.
D
Grace.
A
I was gonna say you're a freaking saint.
E
I am.
A
You're a freaking.
F
Without knowing.
E
Yeah.
F
Seriously.
A
What is it like watching Ella play football?
E
It's so hot.
A
Is it really?
E
She's so. Like, the other day you went on the pitch and there was this girl trying it like this, and there was this guy. And this year her shorts are quite short, so I love it. There was some girl, like, being really aggressive and just shoved her out the way. And I was like. She got a yellow card. And I was like, that's my girl. It was so. But you're really good. I feel like it's so nice to see something you're so passionate about, but you're also just really good at. You can tell the difference when you'll come on or like, just. Yeah. Nice, Nice.
A
What's it like scoring a goal? Is it the most insane feeling?
E
There's nothing.
F
I feel nothing.
E
Do you remember?
F
Yeah, I do. I scored two. I was at Ipswich last year, but my first game back, I came on, we was losing two nil. And I scored two to like, draw the game. Yeah. And honestly in it, I was laying on the pitch after and I called you and I was like, I can't believe I just done that. Yeah. She was like, I was watching the whole time. Like, she was buzzing.
A
But yeah, it's a feeling just that.
F
It'S, yeah, it's unmatched. I don't know where I'll get that feeling again in life which worries me after football. Like, what the, what am I going to do to get to, like, replicate that feeling?
E
We're going to have to.
F
It sounds so silly.
B
Jamie's obsessed with the draft. Jamie's obsessed with draft.
A
Oh, yeah. She's going to come out. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
Jamie's obsessed with the, like, understanding the feeling of scoring a goal. Like, I think he must ask me about it. He's like, what do you reckon it's asking me? I've literally never kicked a ball in my eye.
F
But you have.
A
I haven't had that feeling.
B
Like, I am not into sports.
A
Apart from I was playing catch for the other day. Unbelievable at catch. I was like, where have this, like, talent, your Olympics? You're unbelievable. You're unbelievable in catch. No, because I. Look, I, I, I've played sport. Not to a super high level, but I played, played sport. Don't worry about it and don't worry about it.
B
I, I can't that you're saying this.
A
Yeah, Ella, don't worry. I played school. No.
E
What?
A
At school. So what? I was still captain. I, Whatever. Anyway, like, like, anyway, I. And like my core memories are still like the goals I scored or the tries I scored in rugby or like, whatever like that. And that feeling that when you score like an amazing try or score an amazing goal at school is like you lose. I remember one time I scored a goal and my celebration, I became a plane I went. I just lost all, like, ability. So I can't even imagine that the level of professional that you're playing at. It must be insane.
F
Yeah, no, it is crazy. But like, yeah, I can't. There's nothing, there's no other feeling that I can compare it to, which is why I'm like, after football, what the am I. I'm, I'm have to do drugs.
E
Yeah.
D
Yeah.
E
And I'm on board with that.
A
Guys, obviously our show started as nearly weds marriage. What are your thoughts on it, guys? I don't know. Just in life.
F
Take the wheel.
E
Ella wants a ring.
F
I would like a ring.
E
Well, she will get a ring, but my thing Is.
F
Is that what you waiting for?
E
Right. I want us to go on loads more holidays. Find out.
F
We could go on holidays. Engaged.
E
No.
B
Do you know what I mean?
F
Don't change our. We're married now. We have to stay home.
E
I don't want to propose in England. I want to propose in a place that we love. Abroad.
B
What's wrong with England?
E
Well, what am I going to do in Skegness? Like, I. I'm. I would like to do it. The thing.
F
The difference is between me and Grace. I'm. You're very high maintenance.
E
Yeah, of course.
F
Absolutely. Like, everything has to be a massive deal for this girl and it's fine because I'm willing to. But with me, I genuinely wouldn't care. We could be on the bathroom floor and you could go, will you marry me?
E
Very Instagrammable. Is it, though? Well, you got to think of these.
F
Things, how I am.
E
Yeah, no, I know. I would just like to make it a big. Like, not a big thing, but, like private. But definitely somewhere south.
F
Know.
B
I will say you should bear in mind, though, that you then have to take the ring in your hand luggage and it can ding, ring, ring up and then it could give it away.
F
Really?
B
Yeah. Which is why I'd like to think you did it in England.
A
Well, I wanted. I wanted to do it abroad, but it was during COVID so I wanted to take you to. I wanted my.
B
No, it wasn't. It was a year after co. No.
A
No, no, it was. It were. No, no, it wasn't. When was it.
B
To do that? Jamie wanted to propose to me at his mate's wedding and thank God. Can you imagine?
A
Yeah, thank God I didn't do that because turns out it'd been a really bad idea. But I thought it was, like, a really fun present for them and they were. And everyone's like, no, this is a really bad idea. So I didn't do that. But I did want to propose to you in Portugal with your mum and I wanted to surprise you, but it was during COVID so I couldn't do that.
B
So you waited a whole year and a half?
A
No, I did not wait a whole.
D
Year and a half.
A
I can't really remember. It was all such a blur. And. Would you want to have kids?
F
We've got dogs at the minute. Yeah.
E
I don't really have motherly buns.
F
3.
A
I'm not very motherly, though.
E
I don't. I don't.
F
It's really not.
A
So when you see this bump, what do you think, Grace? You're just like, I think this is.
E
Amazing for you, but I just. Yeah, you're so good with kids. Like, Ella's amazing.
F
I've grown up with niece and nephews that I absolutely adore. So, like, they're just like. I mean, you can give them back. That's a good thing.
E
I don't know how to talk to kids. I'm like, you're right.
F
Yeah. The first time she met my niece and nephew, she was like, so, like, what do I talk to them about? And I was like, just being normal.
E
So I just started panicking. I was like, slay queen. I was trying to talk to them like that and they were like, right. So, yeah, I'm not very motherly, but we love our dogs and I think that's enough.
F
I mean, you're saying you're not motherly. We've got a little dog, Noodle, and Grace is like, no, the way she acts with this dog, like in bed now, it's like me, the dog, her. There's no cuddles.
A
No. Come on.
F
And Noodle will like, Noodle will like back up into Grace and she'll like spoon him. And I'm like, like, where the do I come into this now then?
A
Do you kiss Noodle on the lips?
E
Yeah, I do. I kiss all my.
B
I really want to see a picture of Noodle.
A
You let Noodle. You let Noodles snog you.
F
Yeah, in the mouth.
E
No, don't, don't. Don't make up rumors. Not in the mouth. Occasionally by accident that will happen, but like, that's. That's it. You do it too.
F
Yeah. So you are motherly to the dog. So I.
E
Absolutely. Yeah. That's. Cuz they don't speak.
F
You know what I mean?
E
They don't really. And they poo outside, which is amazing.
A
Grace, can we both of you just killing it. But Gracie also just like killing it in the industry. You man, like, and just also just like. Yeah, like, also. Can we just say this? Like, fully deserved. Like, obviously, like without a freaking doubt, one of the funniest people, hardest working people. Without a doubt. Like, I just so root for you all the time.
E
Thank you very much.
A
Yeah.
E
And I make sure to buy candy kittens.
A
Thanks very much.
E
Go shopping.
A
But you have your new shirt. You have your new shirt. Am I.
E
Am I the asshole with Jimmy Carr and Jamali Maddox? And it's out on October 27th? There was a lot of people on there. There was a guy that eats his own sperm. So that was what I was dealing with. But I think it's genuinely really funny. You were there for recording.
F
Yeah. It was hilarious to watch, and I.
E
Think it's on Comedy Central, so wherever.
B
You can watch that, I'll be watching that.
E
Thank God.
F
Please.
B
I can't wait to.
A
I can't wait to watch it, actually. Also, you did your BBC stint for Radio 1 and you swore on the radio, and it's one of the funniest things.
B
No, you didn't. I laughed. Love you so much.
E
So the week before I did it on Loose Women, I went. And then the crowd went. And I was like, oh, my God, I've sworn. And then the week after, I was on Radio 1, I was introducing this band and I just didn't do it very well. And I didn't realize the mics weren't down. I went it. And then it played the song and I was. And everyone in the room was like.
A
No, it was awful.
B
How awful is it when the. You think the mic's gone down and you're like, oh, I did that. I literally did that the whole time.
E
The whole time. Why did it take so long to put. The song is playing. Why is my mic still up? It's so annoying.
F
Yeah.
E
Horror.
A
Ah, guys, we adore you. We freaking adore you. Like, honestly, go and Grace, go and listen to your podcast. Everyone needs to go and check out your tiktoks. I weirdly stalk you the whole time.
E
Ella is very funny.
A
You're so freaking funny. Okay, we've got a quick fire game. It's called Mrs. And misses. Here you go, honey.
D
You go for it.
B
All right. Okay. Who is the neediest?
F
Me.
E
Yeah.
F
Yeah. Grace will leave the house and I'll be like, you hate me. Get back, please.
E
Yeah. Bearing in mind I'm working.
C
Yeah.
E
She's like, you should go to work that job. Yeah.
F
I'm like, yeah. I'm like, you could have stayed at home. Like, you know, it's my day off. And Grace is like, well, this was booked in for months.
D
Yeah.
E
100%.
A
Who starts the fights?
E
I cause the fights. I'll do something that I know I shouldn't have probably done.
F
Absolutely. So, yeah, it's probably me who caused.
A
The fights out of you.
D
You caused the fight.
F
You caused the fight.
E
I really see. Yeah.
A
Get out of here.
B
Mirroring you cause them by constantly up, but I start them by calling you out on it or being in a.
F
Mood that is literally us.
B
And then he's like, what have I done?
F
What have I done?
A
Then I'm like, I don't think I Do anything.
E
That's how I feel.
A
Yeah.
B
I don't. Yeah.
E
I'm like, oh, what?
F
You've just sat there and gone. I caused them.
E
No, I know, but. Because I know it's something, but at the time, I'm like, oh, it'll be.
F
All right with that.
A
Yeah.
E
And also, that's exactly what I'm like.
F
She won't.
E
Deep down.
B
That and also key things.
F
Sweep it under the carpet.
E
Yeah, exactly.
B
A lot of it for me is like, double booking me or like, getting there late or like, sorry, can't do that now, got work. I feel like maybe it's similar vibes.
F
Yeah, absolutely.
B
And it's like last minute and I'm just like, no.
F
Yeah. Like, she'll have something tomorrow and she'll be like, she'll tell me tonight when it's 11 o'.
B
Clock.
F
And I'm like, brilliant.
E
Yeah.
F
Well, that's nice.
E
Yeah.
F
See you never then.
E
Yeah.
F
I get so sensitive.
B
Deal with it.
A
Who's the most embarrassing?
B
Me.
E
I'll say embarrassing stuff. And you're like, please. Like, as soon as you got on here, I was like, we finger each other. So I. Yeah, that's just a common thing.
A
By the way, you're talking about watching porn movies. I. Oh, no.
E
What's about to come out your mouth?
A
Well, when I was. When I was, like, much younger, I wanted to know how it was to perform cunning lingus on a girl. So I just watched loads and loads of videos.
F
Wait, what's that?
A
As in. I don't know. I don't know. I've never used the word cunning Lingers.
B
Ever get jealous that Grace says she was the most embarrassing thing. I should top that. Okay, who gets the drunkest?
E
Me.
F
Absolutely. Grace.
B
Yes.
A
Seems me.
F
Although when I do get drunk, when.
E
She'S out of season, when we first met, you then were out of season and Ella was just downing like this.
F
It's like being pregnant. Like, our season's like nine months long pregnant, so we can't drink throughout the season. So then when I do get time.
A
To drink, go for it.
F
I don't remember anything.
E
Yeah.
A
Who's the most romantic?
F
Me. Absolutely me.
E
Yeah.
A
Really?
F
Yeah. Yeah.
E
I'm not very good in that department, am I?
F
No. For a girl, I'm not.
E
I. I could.
A
Shocking. She. Honestly, shocking.
F
Oh, yeah. Grace's love language is to cook me dinner.
E
Yeah.
F
Sometimes the chicken is not cooked.
A
That's right.
F
And she's giving me, like a thing about chicken now. Like, I just don't want to eat chicken. You've had so much watching.
E
Yeah, she has. She survived everyone, so.
A
That's all right. Do you know, as a girl, you're not that romantic either.
B
I cook you, didn't I? Sometimes. That is also the way I show my love.
A
Yeah, I don't think it is, but. All right, we'll stop there, guys. We adore you. We're gonna. You're the best. Thank you so much for coming on. You're the funniest people in town. We love you guys. What an episode. What an episode.

This episode of NearlyParents is bursting with laughs, real-talk moments, and candid relationship confessions as Jamie and Sophie celebrate Sophie's birthday and welcome internet star GK Barry and footballer girlfriend Ella Rutherford. What starts as playful banter quickly shifts into an unfiltered conversation about flirty DMs, moving in together after a day, modern love languages, lesbian relationship dynamics, coming out, football careers, and the reality of considering marriage and parenthood.
[03:00–14:30]
“Underneath all of that funny banter... is this, like, deep love that I cannot describe that I have for you.” —Jamie [08:28]
“Every day...this is the last coffee...the last time we're gonna walk down the street, just the two of us.” —Sophie [12:37]
[16:53–20:19]
[21:40–24:47]
“I was bored one night...restless, couldn't sleep. And I was like, I'm just gonna message you.” —Ella [22:46]
“I met Ella and after an hour, I was in love.” —Grace [26:17]
“Even the first day you came to my house, we had a sleepover...[then] you went and got your stuff, and then we just lived together after that.” —Grace [26:39], Ella [26:51]
[27:15–36:44]
“Men play dumb because they can't be bothered to have the confrontation. Females, we know we are clever emotionally. So there's no acting dumb.” —Ella [30:57]
“I struggled a little bit with my sexuality...I had to over compensate and be like, I really fancy this boy in my class, Mum.” —Ella [36:12]
“Once my family accepted it, it made it so much easier for me.” —Ella [36:31]
“I'd like the world to get to a place where this whole coming-out thing just wasn't necessary...When you're ready, you'll do it.” —Ella [37:09]
[38:15–41:15]
“If it weren’t for Grace, I would have probably just sucked it in...she was such a breath of fresh air.” —Ella [39:09]
[42:55–45:40]
“I don’t know how to talk to kids. I’m like, you’re right, slay queen…” —Grace [45:25]
[46:26–51:43]
The episode is loose, hilarious, and honest—full of playful teasing, oversharing, and affectionate digs. The guests and hosts are unapologetically themselves, and beneath the jokes is genuine admiration and warmth. The discussion isn’t afraid to address serious themes (identity, coming out, relationship challenges), but always returns to supportive encouragement, humor, and love.
Perfect For: Listeners looking for an unfiltered, uplifting, and deeply relatable snapshot of modern relationships, LGBTQ+ journeys, and the chaos of adulting—with plenty of laughs and “I can’t believe they just said that!” moments.
