Drake had stopped doing it for a couple years, but he announced at Central Seas, Central Seas Toronto show that OVO Fest will be back this summer. Yeah, it always had great lineups. I think it's a great move. I think what Drake needs for public perception right now is to prove that people still absolutely love him. Even if you check the streaming numbers, it's clear. But with that said, I think for the perception wise, seeing the amount of people that will obviously go to OVO Festing, the artists that will come there, a lot of the perception of who he's become, this can turn. It's a good PR move.

Well, they said they're going to continue sort of with Dreamboat. But no, I don't think it had anything to do with Jacob.

I think Future will be a part of it. Not a surprise. I think Future will be a headliner. I think what's. What. What year did. What A Time to Be Alive came out.

It was that 2012. 20. No, 2015-2014-2014-2015.

2015. Oh, so we're at the 10 year anniversary. Right. You know, I'm bad at math, went to public school. I can see. My prediction is that they performed that album in its entirety for the 10 year anniversary. Just a guess, because we know they've kind of like reconciled sort of behind the scenes.

Yeah. And it was never really an issue with Drake and Future, per se. It was more. So Drake and Metro, I think had more of a issue or a little, you know, little tift. It was never really Drake and Future kind of just got, you know, he was in the middle of it because obviously Metro's his guy, you know, so it was a little moment misunderstandings and, you know, a little overlay and maybe dating certain women. You know how that thing can make things a little cloudy sometimes. But I'm not mad at that.

That's not a bad 10 year anniversary. That's my prediction.

When shether came out, we said on the podcast, this kind of sounds like Papoose wrote it, but have any of you been paying attention to their. Their public divorce? So what's been going on?

What I've seen, they've both. They both kept going lives. The last time we were recording, they both were going live back and forth. I guess what Remy Ma was compl. I guess Clarissa Shields must have mentioned her in an interview or something like that. And Remy Ma was responding like basically keep my name out your mouth, yada yada, yada, whatever. And started coming at Papoose. She said she feels bad for Clarissa Shields cuz Papoose is the brokest person she's ever. The poorest person she's ever encountered in her life.

I just don't understand opening your phone and going on IG live and then like just spewing out all of your like, you know, issues and family, you know, things to people who, one, really don't care. Two, who are laughing at your struggle or your, you know, family situation dynamic or whatever. Like I just never understood that part of it. Like I get it. You know, public figures and you know, narratives can start to grow legs and you know, you hear things and see things online and you want to put an end to it. So you think the best way to do it is just to go on IG and start talking to the rumors and things like that. But even when you do that, even if it's facts, people don't care. They're still laughing at you. Everything is a joke. You know, now they know your business. I just don't. I just like to see people handle things differently. I don't want to see Remy and Papoose like do this anymore. I think for number one, I think they're too old for this. Let's start there. I think that social media and all of that is a young person sport when it comes to those type of things. Let the, let the youngins play out like that. Like Remy and Pap don't need to be doing.

I mean social media time is flying. Like the people that grew up on social media are getting old. It's about to Be an old man's game.

And first of all, I agree with everything you're saying. I do see the perspective of trying to clear up things about your personal life. But to your point, nothing ever have you ever seen a rumor successfully really get cleared up? Like even how we complimented Hov when he got in front of that whole thing. And no, he didn't do that. There's still a million people saying like, oh, he. He definitely paid the judge. Like he did that shit. You never actually clear up a rumor completely.

But I think if he hears something, starts mumbling and you catch him that day, I think you have the opportunity. If you catch him right then and there and he's into it and can block out two hours, you'll get a four minute verse.

That guy did verse was not the verse. That song was done. It had Wayne and Ross, like, that was done. And then hove heard it and just started mumbling in the office and walked across the street to Jungle Studios and did it like that wasn't a plan.

Yeah, that was when that partnership happened because Khaled was smoking hot outside of at that point, just making great albums. They signed, they signed him to manage him because he already had the epic deal and all that other shit. They signed him because he was smoking hot on the Internet and it made sense for HOV to always hop on that stuff because they have a deal. I, I don't know if Khaled has that same type of temperature on him now where HOV would be like, I'm giving him another verse.

We have given him a Jason Beyonce feature, a Jay Z Beyonce future song. I've given him one of the greatest versions the last 10 years. I don't know if this album HOV is going to be like, yeah, I got to give Khaled another one.

Maybe not this album, but I don't know if it's, He'll. I don't know if I'm on the side of saying Khaled may never get a J verse again.

I think HOV is only focused on the fall off with J. Cole and maybe the clips if it makes sense. If he hears something. I think those are the only two things in his rap brain without jewelry on that he's thinking about.

Because at that point where Jay Z is at in his career, in his life, I mean, a verse has to have significant what a record has to have a significant meaning. He's not just doing it just to show off and say, yeah, I still rap better than Oli. I don't think that that doesn't mean much to Jay at this point in his life. I think that it has to be a situation where, where the record is phenomenal, the music is incredible. The project that it's on is like, you know, it's gonna move the needle, I guess, and kind of shift the sound of what's going on right now. I just don't know if there's anything out here that's gonna do that.

I think it finishes the story of A Star Is Born. Cause J. Cole was pretty much the first artist signed to S. Carter Enterprises. He wasn't even signed to Roc Nation. You get A Star is Born with a. A list. Heavy Blueprint 3 J. Cole being the only unknown that he was launching, was talking about all the greatest ever. Here's going to be the next greatest ever, which was a huge risk. I'm not taking anything away from J. Cole. I'm talking about the music business. There's a chance. Not because of J. Cole's talent, just because of how politics work. We never heard from J. Cole again after that verse.

Like that. That can happen in the music industry.

So the fact that that was your first artist that you signed, probably the most profitable rapper that you have had post Roc a fella. He then fulfilled his contract, made you millions and millions of dollars, and then did what you would have want him to do as a human, not as a businessman. Of course he'd want to keep Cole. Cole went on to do his own thing and is now already a legend in his own right. To me, that's why you get the record. Jay telling that story with Cole finishes A Star Is Born. Look, we were right. Look at this journey. You made me profitable. You carried Roc Nation in the beginning and now you're doing your own thing the way Me, Bigs and Dame did. Like that's what I think Jay respects. You fulfilled what I needed you to do. And then you did your own thing.

Antonio and Clouds, I think, are the only songs that were released post. I mean, that were record post battle. I think the other ones were recorded pre battle. They just happened to come out. But those two were the only ones that I'm aware of off the top that were recorded post battle. And they both were good. Clouds is not something that you would. Neither one of them are songs that you would. They were statement pieces. They weren't something that you would play regularly. I don't think they were songs. I think they were just jcole getting his thoughts out on.

And I'm on the side of. I don't know this to be true. This was just like what everyone saw on the Internet. Rumors of what the concept of the fall off was. Where Cole was gonna have features from older artists that quote, unquote, fell off. Not really fell off, but, you know, just saying that after you hit your peak and become a legacy act, things get different. So it's gonna be legacy acts. I don't think the beef changed that. I just think the time in which he had to pause because of the beef has made him redo this entire album. That's just my guess. I think the concept he had he liked at the time and now is like, I'm falling out of love with that concept. Next to the fall off, I think it's going to be way less feature heavy than it was going to be originally. I just. Yeah, I think he's had too much time to have to chill because of all the weird that was going on. And he's probably has three different versions of it at this point.

I'm interested to see what Cole does with this next. With this next project. I want to see where, you know, sonically, just where his energy is at. Because it's, you know, it's. It's a lot on this project. It's a lot riding on this project.

It's really interesting you actually bring that up because I never thought about this because of everything that happens. Most legacy acts, which the big three is now in that portion of their careers by hip hop time standards. Like when Blueprint 3 came out, of course. Do I want Jay to deliver? Sure. But I wasn't like, yo, this is going to be a. Like a moment or not a make or break, but this is going to be a defining moment for Jay Z. Blueprint 3. I didn't think that at all. All three of them, everything that they're about to put out next is going to be a defining moment in their careers, which wouldn't have happened prior to that. Which is a interesting thought that I never even grasped. Like, had that never happened. Yeah, like, of course I can't wait for all three of them to drop music. But I felt all three of them are so solidified that like, if it's a duh, like whatever, like there's, there's. They're all legends.

But now it's like everything the three I'll do is matters just as much as it did as your fucking sophomore album.
