Should, you know, kind of have some integrity and have some, you know, when you're talking about other people, because you never know when you're going to be sitting in that chair. But.

Like a lot of the sketches the other cast members are breaking because like, we've never said these kind of words or like.

But I mean, I feel like sketch wise, when Bill Burr hosted, I thought those sketches were incredible. Like when they did the, the police shooting first take sketch was hilarious. I think the politically correct mafia family was hilarious. His. The beer hops commercial when he was beating up his son I thought was funny. I just think the sketches, the sketches didn't represent Shane in my opinion. I think he's a better writer. I feel like they didn't allow him to write in any of this.

When it comes to black comedians, Chappelle is where they go to as far as bring an audience that wouldn't typically watch snl. It's very rare that they have a black. Black stand up, which is their actual format, to then just throw Vince, who I guess by definition to NBC would just be a rapper. I don't feel that way. But that's how NBC would look at it. And you're not even the biggest rap. We wouldn't even have you on as a musical guest. Yeah. At that point snl, not me would say that's just a random black guy.

They're not even trying to skew that young. Of course they try to bring in certain stuff, but yeah, they're. They're looking for middle America white people. That's snl. It's. Oh, that's actually always been snl.

But there's still a bigger market to. To be had. And I think that they're losing. Not even just like the ratings. Nielsen ratings. I mean, just me. Like, cultural collectively. Like, there's no reason why every weekend SNL sketches shouldn't be flooding on our Twitter timeline and we shouldn't be cracking up laughing about something that pop.

They do fine on digital is just not for us. Us. They're not looking for our Twitter timelines.

They could be, but if they started being too much for us, they would lose their core fan base. And yeah, their core fan base is more. They can lean on them more than they can lean on us. We go through too fast even.

Remember we were talking about Sean Evans Hot Ones, and I was like, how amazing that Sean off, like some YouTube got on SNL. That's like, different. Different. And it was a parody with Beyonce. I guarantee you, when it came to network, like, people actually viewing not YouTube, that sketch tanked because no one knew what the it was.

Their core audience had no idea what Hot Ones was. That. That was supposed to be a Beyonce prank. Who Sean Evans was. That's just not that platform. It's other platforms that should be going after us. That. That's a staple. That's for old people.

But even with Shane, Shane being the person that could easily be the bridge between the middle America people because he is like, their guy for sure.

And. And he's cool among, like, the younger he's like in the scene as well. He is literally the perfect bridge between these two worlds. Olds.

But I'm saying these sketches. Fair. But the sketches that they would do wouldn't be to our timeline, current event type of.

That's been a staple for an audience that grew with them. They didn't. They've never attacked the younger generation since the 80s or 90s. It's. It's an older generation that watches that and they're not gonna change to compete.

It's never been. As much as I love Michael Che Con, just. I think all those guys are super talented. Talented. There's not been a graduating class that everyone's like, those were the guys when we were younger and now they've moved on to movies. Everyone stayed.

They flip flop with like the lower tier. But even Pete Davidson, who was the epitome of young fame wasn't used in SNL really at all. He would do Weekend Update or he'd just be some random guy in a sketch. He didn't bring new viewers in and the kids loved him for just bitches.

But also, I even feel like. Like because 21 Savage was the. The musical guest. I even feel like that for the kids and even kind of. Myself included, as not quite a kid, but a little older, I'm kind of over that too. It was great that Black Star was with Chappelle when they performed. I love Black Star. I'll stop what I'm doing for Black Star. I didn't. That wasn't why I tuned in. I don't think the musical guest performance thing does it for our generation or especially the kids. I don't think the 21 Savage fans were like, yo, on Saturday night, we gotta stay up or we're not gonna go out because we got to see 21 Savage perform on SNL. They'll show up to his shows. They'll buy his merch. They'll.

Like, so people might not watch it on NBC Live, but they'll find the 21 Savage performance on SNL. It's just how people receive and. And. And view their content now is just totally different than when SNL obviously, was. Was first introduced to network television. This is a different time.

And I just don't even know if I think they'll look at the clips on TikTok and IG. I don't even know if the core 21 savage bases waiting on YouTube to watch the full thing the next day, the full snl.

If we see 21 Savage with Drake in the arena or 21 with his fan base at Terminal 5, that shit's gonna go crazy. Crazy. This is weird.

He would've never got that slot if he wasn't, though.

So this is my point. But a lot of other great entertainers and performers have had a halftime show, but they're just not as great live performers. Entertainers as Usher. So when you have shows that are live, like SNL and these things, like. Yeah, they try to grab artists from our culture to kind of. Of bring in, you know, some of those views and people to the platform. But like you said, a lot of the times, people don't care about seeing a lot of these artists, which is why a lot of these artists that y'all think is lit gotta cancel tours, gotta cancel shows. Cause a lot of these people cannot perform.

They're terrible live. Have a couple of good records. Have a couple of good songs that you like to hear. But outside of, like four or five records, are you paying to go see somebody perform live at an arena to hear five songs that you like from them?

Well, that's why festivals have gotten so big, because these are festival artists. They're not concert.

Yeah, a lot of these people are just not. They don't have the catalog. The catalog is terrible. A lot of these artists that people like to put up and say, oh, he's dope. He's little, she's lit. They're not. The catalog is terrible. Catalog sucks. Seen them live, their live performance sucks. Like, these are the times that we're in. It's a lot of people just. They look lit on social media. A lot of these artists are good to look at, but it's like, once you get to the music and the catalog, it's like, it's not much there.

And my thing with adding SNL into that factor, that is going off what they think numbers can do. 21 bringing out two of the most antisocial artists of all time. What got more traction, do you think? Their actual performance or that photo at the after party that said, what would you name this quote group?

Go full target the kids that are on the the they thems and then get the young people to do the comedy or commit to your base to older people that you really with that you're marketing for and just go all out on them. Give them the comedy that they want.

Shane's monologue proved exactly what we're talking about. He struggled through that whole thing and kept saying, I can see that nobody's enjoying everything. I'm saying the moment he suggested that three black kids were going to beat up a bunch of white kids over a girl with down syndrome, he got a standing ovation. Because it's the woke older people that love snl. It's the woke younger generation doesn't like snl. It's Just the woke older generation.
