I mean, regardless of what this election was. That was already. Already my plans. The next five years.

No, yeah, I know, and I know we've talked about certain places you guys want to go. I know you said at one point Puerto Rico, possibly, or like Mexico. Did one of y'all say Mexico or London? I think that was the main one.

Me. Me and Azad are going out spring of next year to London for like two or three weeks to start looking at houses. I'm going to look at schools. But, you know, a lot of time in between then and now. But starting the process.

Spring of next year is not a lot of time.

No, no, no, no. To start planning, like, oh, okay, 20, 25, five years from then. Okay. Elementary schools, middle schools or primary school, like that type of shit.

And not to say London is. Is very. That much different than America, but I think it's a. The proximity of London is a good landing place to start for like a year or two to then travel and figure out where I would want to land.

You know, the south of France is like going from New York to Philly. Like, London is just the center of everything as. As far as proximity. So that's just an idea. I mean, I'm. I'm not in a super rush, but I'm also on the Puerto Rico side. I'm on Zillow all the time looking at that Wouldn't be available by the time I'd go to Puerto Rico. But you get a price to get a gauge. Yeah, I get a gauge definitely.

Certain of your family members over there, like, it's happening with kids that can tell me where the schools is at.

Would you Miss America? Do you think you'd Miss America?

I mean, I always come back to visit, but I know a bunch of people like that grew up on the same hood I grew up in. And they moved out of the country years ago. And the life for them is amazing. I have a cousin that he moved to Mexico during the pandemic. And he's like, he came back. He went to Tulum. The pandemic was March 2021. He went to Tulum. June. Came back to New York in September and said, bro, I will never live here again. And has been living in Mexico, like, has a nice spot working. You know what I mean, just like the way of life, it's just totally different. And not only that, what people don't know is how much of a community from people from Queens and Brooklyn live in Tulum. Like, people have already moved there that are from here. You know what I'm saying? So it's not like you're going in. It's just totally. It's like you don't have none of your people that can relate to where you come from. It's like, no, we have. They're all there. You know what I'm saying? So people have made the move out of America. I think, you know, the older people get and, you know, people figure out what they want for their lives and how they want to live. Once people start to travel and see different places, it's like that. That thing that's on Instagram a lot when people be like, they go to a new city and be like, yo, I could really see myself living here.

It's the same brunch was popping that dude.

Well, yeah, the French toast was amazing.

But the amount of times I've wanted to move to Dallas.

But that's a real thing. Like, people go somewhere and they just feel a different, you know, just way of pace of life. It's just the pace, the energy. It's like when you live, you know, in America and you live in major cities, like we do, like New York City, you can feel like, literally, we talk about it when we come back to New York after we've been, like, out of town, especially if we're in London for a week. And as soon as we land in New York, you can feel like all of the energy and just the stresses and just from getting to. From the airport home. And it's like, dog, I come back and I land right to this shit. Like, I was just somewhere when we were in Mexico. Mexico's in the mountains. Just chilling, like, just chilling. Easy way of life. We walking around the town buying fruits and tacos and shit. Nobody's yelling, nobody's arguing, nobody's cursing each other out. Nobody's worried about paying rent. You land at JFK and it's just like, oh, no, you right back to the shit.

The amount of people I've talked to that have moved out of the. The states that are not like hippies or like nomad people, that are just, you know, regular day working people are on the same exact vibe of like, I do not understand why you guys continue to live there.

Because you think it's typically your hippie friends like Jay.

Yeah, like you expect that from him. But when you have people, that's not, like, traveling, man.

He will never be in the same place. Like, hates the States unless it's New Orleans.

It's also the only city where you feel like you're not in America in the States. But, yeah, everyone I've talked to just leaves and doesn't understand why people stay there. And Damaris, to your question, would I miss America? I was running through the list of things that I may miss, of course. Family number one. But maybe it would be better to put a. Put an ocean between us for a little bit. Wouldn't be mad at that.

And you give your family somewhere to travel.

Yeah, I, I. The only thing that. And I'm not even trying to make a joke. Delis were the only thing that was, like, on my list.

You think I'm joking, But he's. That he's the one thing I'm like, all right, no matter what, I need to be able to go to a deli 24 hours, seven days a week. I need to know that shit is right. Not even sandwiches. I need to know that's there. Yeah, that's the only thing. But I could. I could give that up. I could just.

I could shop on Monday for the week.

Yeah, you'll survive. You'll survive without the. Without the turkey and cheese sandwich for sure.

It'll probably be better for, like, just not even just your family life, but just, like, your relationship. Your relationship, any relationship that you decide to get in. I feel like living in America, especially living in New York City, the amount of that's just in our faces all the time. I don't feel like we're very family oriented. Maybe it's because we don't have houses here, but.

No, it's because everybody got to work double, double overtime. And by the time they get home, it's just enough time to go to sleep and get up in the morning and do it all over again. So you don't have people sitting at the tables eating. Everybody orders. Uber eats and eats their food in their room, eat a burrito and go to bed. Like, you ain't sitting at the table to eat a burrito, eating that in your room, watching tv.

My, My man Garen grew up in Queens his entire life, then went into production. You know, he. He worked with us with. By any means. He did The Nas, NASDA Don Video produced that. Like one of the best video producers I've ever met in my life. Because he's so high strung, anxiety driven human being. Like one of those that you need to like grab his wrist and be like, you can't have any coffee, right? You're gonna die. Move to the south of France with his wife and two kids in a town that they don't even charge for food. It's just all the vegetables. Everything is just center in town. Take what you want, leave a tip if you need, and go back home. Change his entire life. High, high strung person was like, fucked it. I can't do this anymore. I'm done. And permanently lives in the south of France. Middle of nowhere too.

You wouldn't leave America, the marriage.

If I wasn't such a family oriented person, I would in a heartbeat. But I'm too close with my mother and my father and sister come see me. No, it's not like that. I won't even move too far from New York because of how close I am with my family. I just, maybe, maybe one day I'll get to that point. But I can't, I can't leave my parents.

See, I'm just, I'm a fan of like having given my family somewhere else to like visit. Like, oh yeah, I never been here. I live here now. Like, y'all never been to Puerto Rico? I live here now. You never been to London? I live here now. You never been to Mexico City? I live here now. Like, get on a flight, come out for a week, stay in the other, the guest bedroom. Just show your friends and family a different way of living. Different ways. Cause people don't know because they never been, They've never been certain places. And then when they go, they're like, oh, this is real. People really live like this day to day. I could still like, you know, I'm in tune with what's going on. Like you said, the Internet is everywhere. Like you still know what's going on in the world. It's just that I no longer reside in the midst of that energy. Like, I don't live in such a society where everybody's focused on working and paying bills. It's like you caught in a cycle. Go to work, pay bills. That's it. That's literally what people are doing in America right now. They're just going to work if they are fortunate enough to have a job. Going to work, paying bills, rinse and repeat. It's like nobody's really enjoying life and just like, you know what I mean? Like we all have to work. I'm not against that no matter where you live in the world. But like that shouldn't be what people's. Every day, every waking thought is like, is to just wake up and go to work and pay bills and just die at the end of that.

I think I would do well in a place that was more family centered, more community based. I'm a really community based person. If I could pick my. Like I said, if I could pick my parents and my sister up and take them with me would. As far as giving them somewhere to.

Where would you move to?

Somewhere Island 1. One of the islands. I'm not against Puerto Rico, but one of the islands.

I would prefer a. I would prefer island that's not really that attached to the United States the way that Puerto Rico is.

I mean Puerto Rico, you're still like, you're not in like the sticks. Puerto Rico's modern civilization.

Yeah, like, no, no, for sure. I just meant as far as government wise. It's still a part of the United States. But yeah, definitely somewhere hot, somewhere warm, somewhere that isn't really tourist heavy. I would prefer like rural. Like you want to go off grid?

I could be a farm girl for sure.

Government is your thing.

Then yeah, you'd have to go full farm because I'm not here to defend America. But let's not act like we are the only ones with a corrupt government in a first world or second world. He adapt with your, your mother, your sister and nephew not moving far. But did you feel like a, a different dynamic with them when they left New York?

Nah, I mean they're not far that, that I have family down there, so I always visited the DMV area. It was just all about. I remember my mom having a conversation with her one day and, you know, the neighborhood I grew up in had changed so much. And a lot of the people that I grew up with, you know, everybody, once we got older, we kind of moved out. People had started families. So anytime I would go back and visit my mom, I felt like the visitor on the block that I grew up on because I didn't know nobody really that lived.

Well, that too. So one day my mom called me and we was just talking and everything about her conversation was leaning towards, yeah, I think it's time to get out of here.

And so I just, you know, I just told her, I was like, well, listen, you retired now and if, you know, you want to move out, just let me know. And so she was like, yeah, hell yeah. So moved up, moved it down with my sister and my nephew, so. And they love it. My nephew loves it. He's golfing down there.

Yeah, like he said, it's a whole different.

He could have done Trump links in the Bronx.

He could have possibly. But you know, commuting in all of that, it's just, it's just a different way of life when you live in these, these towns, man, is, you know, it's like, I've seen it firsthand with family and friends that pack up and leave the Bronx or leave Harlem, you know, leave the, the five boroughs when they, they move out to different cities in different states or different countries. You can just see it. It's just a whole different way of life that opens up to them. That unfortunately you feel like, yo, if you would have stayed uptown, I don't know if you would have experienced this type of, I don. If you ever would have gotten into this type of shit, you know what I mean? So it's a real thing. And I think that that's something that a lot of people are talking about. A lot of conversations personally that I have with people, more and more people I'm starting to see, entertain the idea of either moving out of New York City or moving out of the country.

Yeah. What's tough, though, in no way discouraging people that want to leave the United States, but the structure of corporate and, you know, certain dead end jobs, it's tough to just pack up and leave.

Hates to go somewhere else.

It's a really expensive thing.

Able to find a job somewhere. Like that's, that's a, a major step which I fully understand why people would be like, nah, fuck that, because I could end up dead broke in on my dream island. Now I'm homeless, like, and you, honestly.

You'Ll probably still have a better way of life than being dead broken homeless here.

I don't. I just feel like you put me anywhere, I'm gonna figure it out. I'm just that type of person.

I just feel like that I relate to it. I relate. I just feel like, I'm like. I just think once you have certain things in you, no matter where you are, you're gonna be okay.

Some people just work better within a system. They don't know how to operate outside of a system. I feel like it's easier for us and I think we've had this conversation when it comes to jobs because of what we do for a living and what we've done in the past for a living. We're not system based people. So it's easier. That idea is easier for us because we're going to make a way. We're going to create a way. That's why they call us creators. We're going to create a way. But a lot of people aren't like that. A lot of people only know school, school, school, school, work, work, work, work. That's it.

I think I want to go to culinary school.

I mean that was always. Yeah.

I think once you know how to like really cook, you can live anywhere in the world and be okay.

You know, I feel like that once you know that, it's like, oh, you're a chef, you can go anywhere in the world and get, and be perfectly fine anywhere once you have that skill. I believe that. Yeah.

But then you just have to figure out social media so you can like sell yourself to be a private chef somewhere. Yeah, it's just business. And your craft goes hand in hand with everything that you want to do. Which is why I think system sometimes is okay. Like I was, I was not my entire life some crazy, yo, the system, I'm never doing the job thing. Like I'm always gonna work for myself. I wasn't always that person. I went to college, I got a corporate job, I went through label system stuff, which I think worked out for me. I learned a lot of valuable things when I was doing the system, but it wasn't for me. Once I got in there, I was like, nah, I can't do this. But I learned a lot of valuable. So if someone is in that type of environment, you could break free and just take what you learn there, right? Especially on the business side. If you want to go do your passion, take what you learned over here and go do it elsewhere.

So my. My Neo. My. My frat brother Peter, who I pledged legally. Like, he was the next semester after me. He was from Nigeria, couldn't get his work visa. He stayed here for, like, maybe four or five years, but ended up having to leave because he couldn't get a proper work visa. And we were, like, trying to figure out anything, calling every noob like, yo, can we just get him a specific job just in the meantime? So they didn't send him back to Africa. No pun intended.
