DC Young Fly
And now.
Rel Howery
Conductor.
Ma
23 is when you get the most people pregnant.
DC Young Fly
No, he's not.
Carlos Miller
Wait, what study? You don't really start rolling. What study is that? What study Is that where at 23 you get the most people pregnant?
Ma
That's what they said.
Carlos Miller
You know when they said that, they
DC Young Fly
said that it's early 30s.
Rel Howery
Yeah, I think so too. I think it's like 27, 28, 27.
Ma
That's when y' all got the most people pregnant.
DC Young Fly
I mean, that's when you. You get hard headed enough to be like, I ain't pulling out.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. You get rid of the condom at 24. You probably wear your last condom at 24.
DC Young Fly
Damn you. You was living fast.
Carlos Miller
No, I'm just saying still wear them.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Not still wear them. Not. Not me. But I'm just saying, like 24 on average. 24, 25. You stop.
DC Young Fly
I can see that.
Rory
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
You just have to like, you know,
Rel Howery
that's for women, though. What's the, what's men's average?
Rory
You want the real age.
DC Young Fly
Do women get the most pregnant?
Rel Howery
Because she threw that out really casual like.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Rel Howery
23s is what they say says peak
Rory
male fertility is between 25 and 29. Yeah. So 23, you got two more years of just pulling out like an American.
Carlos Miller
I told you stop wearing the condom at 24.
DC Young Fly
25. Not stop.
Rory
But I mean, it was high school for me.
DC Young Fly
You be a little more liberal.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. More free.
Ma
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
I mean, the first time to build some trust.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
First couple times.
Ma
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
You get out there and test the limits a little bit.
Ma
But he's a millionaire. Y' all talk all this shit about these football players and how they get these women pregnant and then they're not smart. They got to pay all this child support. People just trying to use him. It's reversible. He was responsible. I'm not ready for no kids right now. I want to take care of him.
Rel Howery
That men and women. He's okay with diseases, though.
DC Young Fly
You have to better.
Carlos Miller
You heard, bro. That means he's okay with diseases.
Rel Howery
He like.
Rory
Yeah, boy. Is the vasectomy his beard or something? That's definitely his beard.
Ma
That's not his beard.
Rel Howery
And then get it. Get herpes.
Carlos Miller
You got a vasectomy and caught herpes.
DC Young Fly
That's something that's not reversed.
Carlos Miller
That's for life. That's the long ride right there.
Ma
The camera was not recording, but we're talking about plague boy Max getting a vasectomy at 23. It wasn't recorded when we originally recorded.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah, he was.
Carlos Miller
Oh, we got all of that. Okay, good.
Rory
He was just crying for his straightness. So, like, is pregnancy a huge thing in his life?
Carlos Miller
I don't know. I mean, he said he had a scare. A pregnancy scare.
Ma
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
And that's why he got a vasectomy.
Ma
Man, he learned from it.
Carlos Miller
That scared the out of him, didn't it?
DC Young Fly
I didn't learn from none of my pregnancy scares.
Carlos Miller
You didn't?
DC Young Fly
Nah.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Going back, I mean, I. I stopped once I made a real baby.
Rory
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
That was it.
Rory
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
That's what it really takes.
Carlos Miller
You gotta have a child.
DC Young Fly
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Okay.
DC Young Fly
You gonna be scared of.
Carlos Miller
I mean, you know, maybe it's a woman you ain't really trying to be attached to forever.
DC Young Fly
It doesn't matter.
Carlos Miller
You still attached even if you don't have the baby.
DC Young Fly
Even though when you do.
Carlos Miller
Oh, when you do. Yeah, that's what I'm thinking.
Rel Howery
Change.
DC Young Fly
They start out good and then they can change, of course, turn into a whole nother person that you don't have no idea who they are.
Rory
Yeah, sounds really.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, that sounds like a. Yeah, that's
DC Young Fly
not something I heard. I happen to me. This is not just street information.
Rory
General information.
Ma
Yeah. Yeah.
Carlos Miller
We are back sponsored by Boost Mobile Unlimited talk, text and data. I am Ma.
Rory
And I'm Rory.
Carlos Miller
And we are joined by the guys, Rel Howery, Carlos Miller. Haunted heights in theater July 24. Rel. Now I've been watching you for years. I think I saw one of your first standups on cable years ago and I said, this guy is hilarious. It's funny. But now you're making your directorial debut. What is the difference for you now stepping into this box as opposed to being a stand up comic?
Rel Howery
Well, when I got my vasectomy, now I can't stop thinking about. That's why I got quiet. Like I've been literally thinking about you,
Carlos Miller
trying to understand it, his decision making at 23.
Rel Howery
Yeah, it just doesn't. All right. Anyway, yes, it was. It was fun to direct this movie and then like to like be able to give Carlos this role where he just kills it and show his range. It was so much fun, man. I had a great time. Like in directing is my thing now, so I ain't going nowhere.
Rory
Yeah, Carl, you went full Illuminati on this one. Is this your Eyes Wide Shut?
Carlos Miller
Yeah, I ran into Carlos outside. I told him, I said, your bed looks illustrious. Now you got a shape up. You into Hollywood now. Now you to start acting totally different now, man. Oh, I'm not now you about cuz you got a shape up. We ain't never seen Carlos with a shape up.
Rel Howery
You ain't.
Carlos Miller
You don't get no shape ups. You don't cut your bald either.
Rel Howery
First of all, Carlos had way more like, fades and stuff when I first met you.
DC Young Fly
Exactly.
Rel Howery
His haircut and everything was more consistent than what this is.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, you hit that. You hit that moment where you don't give a no more, grown man. You're like, man, I ain't got time.
Rory
Around the time his baby mother started changing.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Absolutely.
Rel Howery
Carlos used to have waves.
DC Young Fly
Yeah. With a nice fade.
Rel Howery
Yeah. It's funny how you keep. You keep a consistent haircut when you ain't got money.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
As soon as you get money, you don't care about that.
DC Young Fly
You like nothing about that.
Carlos Miller
You know, I'm not going to the barbershop, but let's talk about Haunted Heist. Man. What is this movie? What is this movie about, bro?
Rel Howery
It's about four friends who kind of reunite really put together by Carlo's character, T. And everybody thought we just. Maybe just going to an Airbnb or something like that. And it turned out this is a whole nother thing going on. He basically want to rob this place, but we trying to rob a place that we think is an easy situation.
Rory
Easy lick.
Rel Howery
Yeah. But it's not because it's haunted.
Carlos Miller
Okay.
Rel Howery
I mean, the title says it all, really.
DC Young Fly
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Kept it very simple, you know, subtitles.
Rel Howery
You don't know what the hell. Like, when you saw weapons, you're like, you ain't always gonna be a bunch of kids running around doing that. Hunter heist is exactly what he says. Yeah.
Carlos Miller
It's a haunted house.
Rel Howery
A haunted heist.
Carlos Miller
Now, where does this fall in the line of black comedy horrors? Because we had, you know, Leprechaun in the Hood is probably the all time classic.
DC Young Fly
Like, is that the metric?
Carlos Miller
I mean, it's a classic. I'm just putting it next to the classic.
Rory
And I don't even know if they in the bars.
Rel Howery
I don't think they meant for it to be.
Carlos Miller
No.
Rel Howery
As funny as it is.
Carlos Miller
No, no, no, of course not.
Rel Howery
Because if we do that, we can name a bunch of horror films that wasn't meant to be.
DC Young Fly
They had a nice budget. Yeah, it was a nice movie.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
And then Leprechaun in the Hood, and
Carlos Miller
he was like, yeah.
Rel Howery
It was like, who did this?
DC Young Fly
That ain't even the same leprechaun. It's Peter Dinkl
Rel Howery
yo.
Rory
That was his Mean Streets. That was his debut.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, but where does this rank amongst the black horror comedies?
Rel Howery
What does it rank like, where are
Carlos Miller
you trying to place this? Is it trying to be its own thing or are you hoping that people enjoy it and take to it the way we've taken.
Rel Howery
I just want people to have fun with it, man. Like I, I don't know where it ranks. I don't know what it's going to be. I stopped doing that a long time ago with all the movies I've done. Like, I think you can't do that. You gotta let the people pick. Because things like when you think about stories like the Five Heartbeats business, right. That it didn't do well at first, but it's a class.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
So you don't, you just don't. You don't know, man.
Carlos Miller
Right.
Rel Howery
So you just, you just make whatever you think is. You have fun with it and let the audience figure out whatever they want to rank stuff. But I don't know, I, I just have fun making this movie. And I was able to cast my friends. The biggest thing for me was to get stand up comedians that can act.
Carlos Miller
Right.
Rel Howery
And not just comedic actors.
Carlos Miller
Okay.
Rel Howery
You know what I'm saying? And that was a big deal to me. And that's why, that's why so many comics in the movie.
Carlos Miller
Tiffany Haddish is in it. Andrew Back Bachelor.
Rel Howery
Yeah, is in it.
Carlos Miller
King back.
Rel Howery
Tony Baker's in the movie.
DC Young Fly
Joe Blunt.
Rel Howery
Joe Blunt from Detroit. Martini Harris. Tara Terry from Chicago.
Carlos Miller
Where did y' all shoot?
Rel Howery
Detroit.
Carlos Miller
Oh, shit. So y' all was out there, y' all was acting up a bunch of. A bunch of black comics in Detroit shooting a movie. Yeah, that's a movie right there.
DC Young Fly
We had a ball.
Rel Howery
We had a man. We shot at Barry Gordy's first mansion.
Rory
That was a horror story for the four hours. Seriously.
Rel Howery
It was it. You laughing. It was.
Rory
He didn't.
Rel Howery
He looked like he just left. Like he kept the furniture there. And then the guy who bought it didn't change. He didn't really change anything. It was still pictures up.
DC Young Fly
Yeah.
Rel Howery
Of like the Jackson 5. Like it's. It is one of the creepiest places. It was perfect for the movie.
DC Young Fly
It's like an abandoned museum because you get to see like all these tour ledgers where they sent like telegrams to Barry Gordy. Like, hey, Barry, we on the road, right? Money's running out. Yeah, send us some money. You know what I mean? You see all these travel slips and hotel receipts and it's just, wow, like they got em framed and you got like original lyrics down the hall. It was this long underground corridor. He had just hundreds of like Motown pictures and Michael Jackson was over there writing lyrics on the piano and pictures Of Diana Ross while she was pregnant. You know what I mean? It was just.
Carlos Miller
Is this something with that look, shooting that location that, like. Was that intentional?
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
I mean, is there, like a connection between that in the movie?
Rel Howery
Well, it's not a connection specifically for that, but it was just trying to find the creepiest house you can find,
Carlos Miller
and you land on a Barry Cody.
Rel Howery
It was between that and Aretha Franklin's original house. So we scouted both those places.
Carlos Miller
Wow.
DC Young Fly
I think they just recently sold it too, though. They did, I think so.
Rel Howery
We had wind scouted both places, but. But Barry's was the one. He still had an old furnace. Like the furnace that. You can't even buy those type of furnaces? No, more like.
DC Young Fly
Like the one that the house is built around.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, like that was there before the house.
Rel Howery
Yeah, it's still there.
Carlos Miller
Damn.
Rory
Okay, was Barry Gordy involved with the Michael Jackson movie? Because for his history, they made him look like Morpheus, like he was the greatest human being of all time.
DC Young Fly
He kind of is, though.
Rory
Barry Gordy was the greatest music. Exact. Probably ever.
Rel Howery
He probably is, though.
Rory
But I just feel like there's more to the Barry Gordy, Michael Jackson story than being the father figure they made him be in that movie.
DC Young Fly
What if it was too. Too raw to be on camera?
Rel Howery
Like, okay. You think it's a deeper meaning of Barry Gordy's.
Rory
I think, like, all music execs, Barry Gordy over a lot of people we got.
DC Young Fly
I think so.
Rory
We got greatness for it.
Rel Howery
He didn't. He didn't get as many complaints as all the other guys have over the years.
Carlos Miller
No, no. You don't hear too many of the Motown legends speak.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
I think he gave them most of their money.
Rel Howery
I think he. I think Barry might have been fair as he could be to the stars.
DC Young Fly
It was plenty of people on the Motown label who probably got some bad stories, but they weren't like, big stars, you know?
Rory
Jennifer Hudson was pissed in dream girls for sure. Why she got kicked out because Beyonce.
Cal Penn
What?
Rory
With the Supremes? Never saw a dream girls.
Rel Howery
I saw it, but you. Oh, you meant. Yeah, I mean, I'm like, why you talk about Jennifer Hudson like. I'm like, what? Jennifer Hudson Happy?
Rory
What was her name?
Rel Howery
Right. That's what I'm saying. I'm like, brother, what are you talking about?
Rory
They tried to touch upon some of Barry Gordy's.
Rel Howery
Well, it wasn't necessarily just his. It's kind of group.
Rory
Yeah.
Rel Howery
That's what we learned over time.
DC Young Fly
Politics.
Cal Penn
Every.
Rel Howery
Every group got Some. Every. Every. I was thinking about the used to
Rory
be three people in this guy.
Rel Howery
I can't wait to see what BTS is because it's gonna be some. It always, man.
DC Young Fly
Who's the lost member?
Rel Howery
You just never know.
Rory
Don't listen to her, ignore her.
DC Young Fly
Don't ask somebody else.
Carlos Miller
He put too much creatine in his smoothie this morning. I don't know what he's talking about right now.
DC Young Fly
I'm gonna go back and find y' all missing member, man.
Carlos Miller
All right, so Haunted Heights rel Now, with this directorial debut of the black directors that we have in Hollywood and the movie industry, who are some of the guys that you spoke to and kind of, like, got some advice from going into this debut for you?
Rel Howery
I actually. Ava DuVernay is, who was somebody I spoke to, and she helped me a whole lot, and Shawn Levy, who I did Free Guy with Stranger Things and all that stuff. So, yeah, those are the two who actually answered the phone.
Carlos Miller
You called some other ones, but those are the two that answered.
Rel Howery
Yeah, those two hit me up right away and jumped on the phone with me. So I appreciate it.
Carlos Miller
Is this. Is this more fun in this part of moviemaking for you, or is it more stressful being a director?
Rel Howery
It was way more fun for me because I was busy the whole time, I think, you know, when you just acting, you kind of just sitting around and all that waiting. But when you're doing. When you're directing and doing everything, it felt good to, like, just to stay busy. And so I don't even know if I really slept for real while we were shooting it, But I had so much fun, like, really. And I'm a detailed person. Like, directing really is my thing. Like, it's. It's.
Carlos Miller
When did you know that, though?
Rel Howery
Bobcat Goldway. We had a show called Friends of the People with the Lucas Brothers and Jermaine Fowler and all those guys. I wrote a sketch, and he was like, you know how you want to shoot this? And I'm like, I don't know. You the director, however you want to shoot it. And he's like, no, this is your sketch. You know, let's figure this out together. And, man, once we did that, that's when I was like, oh, oh, this could be my thing. Because I think for a long time, I just looked at directors like Steven Spielberg and John Singleton, Spike Lee. Like, it's just some untouchable thing that I couldn't be a part of. But Bobcat put that battery in my back, and I appreciate him.
DC Young Fly
For that, shout out to Bobcat.
Carlos Miller
Legend.
Rory
The Legend was this tough to produce. I feel like Hollywood has kind of neglected comedy movies. Like, everything is just a reboot or a marvel. Like, we used to get comedy movies, like five a year.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Rory
And I feel like it's one every few years. Is that tough in Hollywood to even pitch something comedic at this point?
Rel Howery
Hmm, that's a good question. I don't. Because, I mean, it's stuff coming out, but not to the theaters. Right. And, you know, it's one of the reasons why I leaned it to stand up comics, too, because I think that's a problem too. I don't think. I just think they kind of, like, the movies haven't been really that funny in a while, you know, I mean, nobody's taking chances on anything. But, you know, you got movies like our movie Haunted Heights. You got the movie like the Invite, which is really. It's tense and funny and all these different things. But I think it's people like Seth Rogen and it's a lot of us that still want to make these type of films. I just think. I just think you can't just wait on a green light. I think that's the thing about it. I don't know if it's just about the genre. I think people just trying to make whatever they know they think will make money right away. And what you're seeing is an independent film revolution, like what Obsession did. Come on. The people want to see what they want to see. You can't make us see whatever, you know, I mean, and people are really saying, nope, we want to see what we want to see.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
And, you know, the money is killing the art, man. Yeah. It always.
Carlos Miller
Money is killing the art.
Rel Howery
I think that goes with a lot of art, too. Not even just movies and TV fashion.
Carlos Miller
You said the money is killing. I don't know if the money is killing the art or if it's choking it out. I think it's too much accessibility to art now.
DC Young Fly
I think it's people's trying to look so far, like the profit gotta be immediate. Like you were talking about, like, off camera. It's like sometimes it takes something to be. It take a while for something to be a classic.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, yeah.
DC Young Fly
You seeing all these old school rappers going platinum for the first time. And, you know, they know just the way that the game is changing. It's a different appreciation. It's a like the TikTok generation. They finally discovering a lot more of the classic songs and bringing them back and putting dances to them and making these songs bigger than they ever have and, like, going back and watching old stuff. So, you know, it's. It take a while for something to become a classic, so. But I think people want the instant because there's been so many, like, instant successes.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
And they feel like if it's not an instant success, automatically, it's just. It's not ever gonna be one, which is not true.
Rory
Yeah. Do you feel like the. The streaming sites even take the time to push certain movies because they're kind of on to the next series movie by next week. Your point of classics taking a while. It also takes a label or network or studio to help push that over time.
Rel Howery
And.
DC Young Fly
And it has to be a demand for it, too. I mean, I don't know. It could get kind of iffy, though.
Rel Howery
I mean. And this thing about it. I was thinking about this today because I was thinking about. I don't know why I was thinking about my show just, you know, when I had my sitcom or whatever and I was just thinking about the older shows, like, give me a break. It was places they could fail for a season until they found their legs. You can't do that now. They expect you to be coming out the gate, just whatever, whatever. And that's. It's kind of tough, especially with comedy, too. Like, we, like, you kind of gotta be able to be able to just take some shots and things. And I don't know if that exists anymore. The patience.
DC Young Fly
Let it build. They don't let it build. They cutting it off after two seasons. Season. A season and a half.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
You know what I mean? Let it build.
Rory
Like Breaking Bad. I feel like people didn't fully. That show didn't. No pun, break, I think, till, like season three or four. Like, I went back and watched season one once it became kind of a thing. They let that rock for a few seasons where it didn't have great.
DC Young Fly
But you need that when you got a series, though.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
Well, you got places like a amc, which that was on. Have a. They have patience with it because they're not in a. They're not in a rush for whatever that is. But when you go to these bigger places, you know. You know, everything can't be like Abbott elementary and it just hit right away. But then even with that, they had to find eight legs. You just gotta get an opportunity, and right now, it just don't exist no more. Like, sometimes you gotta go through different showrunners and writers and this and that and just finding your voice and what you're comfortable with. But that don't exist no more. Like yo, everything gotta be top notch and ready, you know. But at the same time, they don't even present things no more like they used to.
Carlos Miller
That's true.
Rel Howery
Back in the day they used to show the pilot as a special.
Rory
Yeah.
Rel Howery
Just to see what people react to it. You know what I'm saying? They don't even do stuff like that no more. Yeah, only the executives watch the pilot. They used to put the pilots literally on tv, Right. And just saw how people reacted to it.
DC Young Fly
And so they don't even make Happy Meal toys off shows no more. In movies.
Rel Howery
Damn, that's real. But no, they don't.
DC Young Fly
They don't. No worry.
Rory
And now Maldemaris flight was delayed and she couldn't rebook because she didn't have service because she didn't have Boost Mobile. That proves that you don't have to over pay for great wireless.
Carlos Miller
Hate when that happened.
Rory
If she would have had Boost, she would have been home on time and wouldn't be this tired right now. And she could only pay $25 a month forever. But instead she likes to just hang out in airports with the other wireless people. We don't even mess with them.
Carlos Miller
So who are they?
Rory
Tamara, Stop overpaying and leave the airport and switch to a fair price@boost mobile.com

when things move fast, you don't always get a second shot at it. That's why being able to move with it matters. A show guest locks in at the last minute and you want to be ready to record. Or you head out to capture something in the city for a big game and need the right setup to actually get it. That's where Amazon prime comes through. When something comes together quickly, you can get what you need, like an extra mic cord or a portable recorder, or even a jersey to wear for a

Because at that point, it's not just about being there, it's about what you're able to do with the moment. That's what I like about Prime. It makes it easy to say yes when the moment shows up. Hey, it's Ryan Reynolds here from Mint Mobile. Now, I was looking for fun ways to tell you that Mint's offer of unlimited premium wireless for $15 a month month is back. Cal Penn
Hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the Pod podcast, I'm sitting down with Lily Chu, the author of the Audible original romantic comedy Just Kiss Already. It's a story about a forensic anthropologist who secretly writes mystery novels, an actress who adapts his book into a film, and what happens when a meme and a media tour collide with a slow burn romance. It's performed by Simu Liu and Philippa sue, and it is an absolute blast.
Ma
When you actually hear the performance, you realize that other people are taking your words and what you thought was kind of a straightforward sentence like the cat in the corner is black. In my head it's the cat in the corner is black, not the dog not the gerbil, but someone else might say it. The cat in the corner is black. That's always fascinating to me how they just bring in all these different nuances and really make it fun in and interesting and distinctive.
Cal Penn
Listen to Earsay, the Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club on the iHeartradio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
Rory
Yeah, it's kind of crazy.
Carlos Miller
What's the biggest. The, I guess, transition from TV to film in y' all experience? Like, what's the one thing when you're like, okay, this is. It's a totally different thing going from TV and now actual film.
DC Young Fly
In my experience, I feel like the. Like, the TV is, like, a lot more faster as far as the production of it. And with the movie, you kind of get. Especially when you're on a bigger production, you kind of get a. A more of a. A window to work through. You know what I'm saying? Because sometimes in a movie, you'll get to. You'll come back and do reshoots, and then TV is pretty much what you shot, is what you got, and not unless you part of, like you said, like a series or something that's gonna be presented on a. On a big network. But TV is pretty much what you shot that day, is what they got for the TV show. You know, with a few exceptions with the pickups and stuff like that. The movie, I feel like it's more as on for me as an artist. You kind of have to clear your schedule. You kind of have to focus and lock in. It ain't just like, no, I'm a pop in and do this and be out. Like, you really have to kind of lock in, and you get to bring more elements to your character. For me, you get to build it a little bit. You get to go back and forth with the acting coach and kind of time it out, and then, you know, get with the producers and the directors and see exactly how is, you know, what's the transition and what you need to bring to it. TV is kind of more. It's more relaxed to me. From my experience, was.
Rory
Was Black Effect Charlemagne and Roc Nation silent partners in this entire thing, as they tend to be controlling everything in media now?
DC Young Fly
I don't think so.
Rory
You had to sign an NDA, didn't you?
DC Young Fly
I don't know that I'm familiar with, but I don't want to say no. And then they don't get the right credit, and then I don't get to be in the next one. You know what I'm saying.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, yeah.
Rel Howery
Hilarious.
DC Young Fly
They may have been silen part so silent that I didn't even know.
Carlos Miller
You didn't even see them on set.
DC Young Fly
Yeah, but I'm just saying if they listen and they want to be, I'm sure real will be open to talking to them. We can make this a series. A box set.
Rel Howery
They had nothing to do with it.
DC Young Fly
Right? We can go all the way up the.
Rel Howery
I mean, not saying I wouldn't.
Carlos Miller
Right.
Rel Howery
You know, but that's funny. That's interesting. Crazy, man.
DC Young Fly
No, I'll be watching this.
Rory
Everything.
Rel Howery
But that's what I'm saying. It's like, damn.
Carlos Miller
Think everything is a conspiracy report when it comes to.
Rory
I've been defending Charlemagne for the past two weeks. Even though we don't see eye to eye.
Daniel Cormier
I.
Rory
What they've been saying about Charlotte Bane is insane.
DC Young Fly
You on the payroll from what I heard.
Rel Howery
Oh, damn.
DC Young Fly
I don't know how y' all still partners because y' all signed the two different entities.
Carlos Miller
I'm not signing. Let the Internet.
DC Young Fly
Let the Internet say y' all signing two different you.
Carlos Miller
Let the Internet say I've been seeing some crazy on the Internet, but, you know, that's what the Internet's for. Speaking of crazy on the Internet, where your ovo change? I don't have ao, chin.
DC Young Fly
They didn't send it. No, cut that out. Can we cut that?
Rory
Yeah, no, that's gonna be the clip.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, we. We gonna leave with that one. Speaking of.
Rory
And don't do that, because I saw you at Yankee Stadium yesterday.
DC Young Fly
He was dead.
Rory
Not at the J. He was.
Carlos Miller
He. Well, I asked Drake if I could go to the Yankee game yesterday, so he gave me permission to go see the.
DC Young Fly
Get dissed.
Carlos Miller
I had to go, boo la.
Rory
You know, they're gonna flip that and make it seem like you're not being something.
DC Young Fly
You're getting dissed on the next album. Yeah, absolutely not like sneak disses.
Carlos Miller
Speaking of. I forgot the. We was talking about. But I was talking about. We talking about crazy clips and.
Rel Howery
And.
Carlos Miller
And footages during the pandemic. Now, this is somebody. This is another castmate of Yalls in the movie Haunted Heist. King back. He had a very King batch.
Rel Howery
Batch is Batch.
Carlos Miller
Batch.
DC Young Fly
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
King batch. King Bach had one of the most interesting videos during. Was this the pandemic or was this.
Rory
This was definitely.
Carlos Miller
This is pandemic.
DC Young Fly
Right?
Rory
Pandemic.
Carlos Miller
Peak pandemic.
DC Young Fly
He don't look like that no more.
Carlos Miller
I hope he's ripped.
DC Young Fly
He ripped like action figure now.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, well, I mean, he Was ripped here, but it was ripped with words.
Rel Howery
Batch is, like, ripped. He looks like he should be in a Rocky movie. Well, he's been in early 80s Rocky movie. Like, not the new hollow creed.
Carlos Miller
I've seen him in the gym with one of the. One of those super workout guys. I forgot who it was, and I was like, okay. Like, he hasn't left it gym. No, he stayed in the gym. No, you never. He never. This is his Black lives Matter. I wonder if, like, a Chipotle. If ra. If this was a pitch Pharrell's haunted heist movie.
DC Young Fly
No, this ain't got nothing to do with it.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Did y'.
Cal Penn
All.
Carlos Miller
And did y' all ask him about this?
DC Young Fly
If I would have known, I would have.
Carlos Miller
You never seen this?
DC Young Fly
No. Can we press play? You know how you follow your partners
Carlos Miller
on social and you miss something?
DC Young Fly
Every time I see somebody like, yeah. Doing too much with this shirt off. Nipples. You skip over on the beach or some like you. You want. You frolicking? Yeah, I'm skipping that, bro. Just respect for our friendship.
Rel Howery
Who would know?
DC Young Fly
You ain't supposed to.
Rel Howery
I know. I don't think I saw this, though.
Carlos Miller
You never seen this?
DC Young Fly
Well, we.
Carlos Miller
We. Let's play for the black man was
Rel Howery
killed, but destroying these buildings has to stop.
Ma
Sorry.
Carlos Miller
Destroying these buildings is the least of your worries. An innocent black man should never be
Daniel Cormier
killed by a cop.
Rel Howery
They say, Patrick, you shouldn't speak up, man. You might lose some of your brand deals.
Carlos Miller
My people have been dying to injustice for centuries. I don't give a damn how a brand feels.
DC Young Fly
You know what's funny about this is because I know he.
Rory
I don't think anything's funny about it.
DC Young Fly
He had, like, five white girls at his house when he recorded this.
Carlos Miller
That's why he had the door closed.
Rel Howery
I was like, how much of this
DC Young Fly
y' all gonna make us watch?
Ma
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
I don't even know if this was public. Was this on his close friends? I've never seen.
Rory
Oh, this was on Buzzfeed. Yeah, man, ain't no way this is on Huffington Post.
Carlos Miller
I can't believe y' all never saw that during the pandemic.
DC Young Fly
I'm glad I didn't.
Rory
I mean, my favorite part is that's at least take three because his chest is red from when he was doing.
Rel Howery
Well.
Rory
That was not the first.
Rel Howery
To be fair, for the moment of the time, it was happening. Like, yeah, people ignorant now. Like, y'.
Carlos Miller
All.
Rel Howery
Don't y' all go laughing some. This brother trying to.
Carlos Miller
No, I laugh.
Rel Howery
He tried to make a statement.
Carlos Miller
I laughed as soon as he uploaded that during the pandemic.
Rel Howery
That's a damn shame, y'.
Daniel Cormier
All.
DC Young Fly
Terrible.
Ma
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Yeah. How are we gonna defend that?
Carlos Miller
You can't defend that.
Ma
You just got.
Carlos Miller
That's what all that was for. You got to look back at that and, like, laugh.
Rel Howery
I can't do that.
Carlos Miller
The movie's out, right?
Rel Howery
Well, the movie's out. No, but that's not. But see, he meant well. Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Cal Penn
He.
Rel Howery
He meant well. And it's. It's unfortunate. Even though we laughing at it, it's like we still. In these times, like, where people still think that is a joke. And he tried. He tried. Just in general, though. Just in general. Just in general. It's crazy watching that and then being like, oh, yeah, let's just. Let's still talk about George Floyd and for no reason and. Right. That's why I look at that like,
DC Young Fly
I'm looking at it too, because I know a white girl wrote that on
Rory
tell by the handwriting.
DC Young Fly
I've been over his house. He got right women over there washing dishes, all types of real.
Rory
Trying to be serious.
DC Young Fly
He might be legit mad, but he's getting.
Carlos Miller
No, he's mad.
DC Young Fly
He getting his reparation.
Carlos Miller
It definitely was some white women that helped with the penmanship.
Rel Howery
Right.
DC Young Fly
Getting his reparations. Trust me, I. I seen them.
Rory
Getting your eyebrows done during the pandemic is funny. Like you in your crib.
DC Young Fly
They. They up, man.
Rel Howery
Think about it. I can't. I can't. Y' all roasted A. And not his face.
Rory
Oh, no. Now that you told me he took steroids. I take everything.
Rel Howery
You see how he just put.
Rory
I agree with the. That was more. I agree with the message. I think his eyebrows are great.
Rel Howery
Wait, who's probably steroids? Nobody said that.
Carlos Miller
No, he didn't take steroids. He. He was in the gym here. But I mean, obviously that was six years ago, so I want. I'm sure now he's put on a lot more, man.
DC Young Fly
He buff Michael B. Jordan type.
Carlos Miller
Now I want to see his role in this. In this film.
Rel Howery
Yeah, I mean, good.
Carlos Miller
But he's one of the guys that I think is actually a good actor.
Rel Howery
Yeah, Batch is really good. Yeah, he's good.
DC Young Fly
He did his.
Carlos Miller
A lot of the, like, comedic Instagram comedies, comedians, I don't really like, but he's one of the guys that I
Rel Howery
think Batch is actually really, really fucking good.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, I think he is. I think he has a. He has a career in acting. For sure. Because that was.
Rel Howery
I mean, yeah, he's had a career actor. He's been doing pretty good.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, he said he.
Rel Howery
You said it like, oh, man, he got potential.
Carlos Miller
No, no, I'm just saying he hasn't had. He hasn't had, like, a breakout role that people know him for or like,
DC Young Fly
but I think that 12 movies.
Rel Howery
Yeah, he was on, like, the. He was in, like, the popular babysitter joints. The, the, the.
Carlos Miller
I remember that.
Rel Howery
Like, the teenagers love, like, you know what's funny? We always base on what we only, like. Like other people ain't watching.
Carlos Miller
Oh, yeah. That's what we do.
Ma
Very true.
Rel Howery
Which is insane.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, that's just. That's part of.
Rel Howery
But it's insane. It is like, I got te right? Like, I don't watch Love island, but it's popular.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. I don't watch anything. Why you say island like that?
Rel Howery
Like, why you.
DC Young Fly
Bro, that's 22 movies right there.
Rel Howery
Yeah, yeah.
Carlos Miller
Like, people make fun of Meet the Blacks. I remember. I remember his role in that.
DC Young Fly
This did like, 30 movies.
Carlos Miller
Not you surprising. In real time. Real, like. Yeah, just. Let's not say that too loud. His budget might be a little. What, for batch?
DC Young Fly
No, that rich.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
No, no, no, no.
Rel Howery
I called and asked for a favor. I asked this for a favor. I asked Tiffany for a favor. These are all.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, I like that. Do me this favor. We shooting Haunted Heights show up in Detroit at Barry Gordy's house.
Rel Howery
Seriously, I don't have any money. Could you do this?
DC Young Fly
I. With real. I'm telling you. Yeah, yeah.
Rel Howery
The budget wasn't much at all, so for all of them to actually say yes was dope.
Carlos Miller
How long did it take to. From start to finish?
Rel Howery
We did 18 days. It was scheduled to do 18 days, and we. We got it in 18 days.
Carlos Miller
Oh, that's because, you know, I mean, you. Y' all done on TV and film. It don't go like that all the time. You schedule 18 days, you could hit 25, 28 days. That's what.
DC Young Fly
See, they ain't gonna tell you this. Rare was not bullshitting on his director. He said 18 days.
Carlos Miller
18 days.
Rel Howery
18. I really pre planned for real, like. But that's why I like, talking to somebody like, Sean Levy was important because, like, when we was doing Free Guy, he was so organized. Yeah, he was so organized. We talking about it was like flamethrowers, all types of shit on set, but he was just organized. So we didn't have to, you know, those type of problems. The same thing talking to David Duvernay, like those two talking to them. I talked to two very organized directors. And so just having your together before you do is very important.
Carlos Miller
Like, seriously, before everybody shows up, you know what it is.
Rel Howery
Yep. You have those meetings and you. You get it in, you talk it out. So. Because just in case something goes wrong, you're prepared for it. Yeah, yeah.
Rory
Shane Gillis just broke the Guinness Book world record of the highest attendance of stand up can stand up like work.
Rel Howery
70,070, almost.
Rory
Some like that can stand up like work in a stadium like that. Stand up is somewhat like intimate. Even if it is 2, 000 people in there.
DC Young Fly
It already worked.
Rory
Yeah, well, no, of course. I mean, it happened, but yeah. Is that like a different type of show? I feel like, absolutely, because I. I've seen Stand up in the Garden and it was definitely a different experience than when I would go watch in comedy.
Rel Howery
It all depends too the comic, because Andrew Dice, I mean, he didn't do those numbers. Yeah, but like Steve Martin, Andrew Dice, Clay, Kevin, like, it's people that's done. And I think he just had the most people. I'm always interested because I've never been to a show like one of those shows. Sometimes I want to just sit in the audience and see what that feels like. Like, is it even enjoyable?
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
To see like a comedy show with that many people?
Rel Howery
Well, no, just one. That one person, like depending on who they are. Like, I feel like Eddie Murphy. Eddie is somebody who, because of the type of comedy he does, like, always looked at Eddie as doing arena comedy in a way.
Rory
Yeah, I hear what you're saying.
Rel Howery
You know what I'm saying? Like, but a Shane Gill is like, is he just doing Trump the whole time?
Rory
And he brought out Chappelle. I saw that. That was the one clip he cheated.
Ma
Oh, that's all.
DC Young Fly
Yeah. It's cheating, man.
Ma
That's cheating.
Rory
I mean, but if Chappelle is down to come on stage, I'm not gonna say no.
Rel Howery
Then Chappelle always gonna say Chappelle, like hitting the stage.
DC Young Fly
They got a hell of a budget. You sold 76000 tickets.
Rel Howery
Yeah. Yeah.
Rory
Or maybe it was a favor.
DC Young Fly
I doubt it. I don't give a how much somebody love you. If you walk out there and see that many people, they're like, you gonna give me something? I'm leaving it with something.
Rory
I mean, Chappelle owing Shane a favor
DC Young Fly
is funny, but I mean, Dave Chappelle real like that. Cause I went to his summer camp and he said, man, means it really meant a lot that you came out here in the middle of nowhere to. With me. Say, if you ever need a favor, just make sure it's good. Don't call me for no bullshit.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. You got one favorite.
DC Young Fly
You got one. He said you get one.
Rel Howery
Yeah, most cats.
DC Young Fly
Let me do it. I'm gonna bring him out, too.
Rel Howery
I remember Jay Z said that to me one time. I was trying to, like, get Roc Nation to do my comedy album.
Rory
I told you, bro.
Rel Howery
And it's just a true story, though. And he's like, well, you know, Miss Tina love you, mama. Tina love you. So we, you know, we gotta look out for you. He's like, but, but, you know, pick your favor.
Rory
Yeah, yeah, it's only one.
Rel Howery
I remember being like, all right, never mind, then.
Carlos Miller
That's too much pressure. I only got one.
Rel Howery
Let me think about that. Like, let me get. Let me wait another 15 to 20 years.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. When I really need a.
Rel Howery
Be the favor.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Right now, I'm all right. But I'm like, let me hold this favor in my back pocket.
Rel Howery
And most people don't think about that. Like. And I, I, I actually make sure I tell people that with me. Like, yo, be sure what you asking me for?
Ma
Yeah.
Rel Howery
Cause I ain't doing this again.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Rory
Don't waste it on the street.
Rel Howery
You want this to be it. And people don't believe you when you say that.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
I told one of the homies that, like, I built him out of jail. I told him. But his wife. I said, look, man, I got you. Yeah, but if you go back, fam. And they called me crying because he went back in. I was like, y' all thought I was playing that in there.
DC Young Fly
It's over with.
Rory
Has anything crossed your mind for the Chappelle favor? And you went, nah, I'll wait. Like, put the phone down.
Carlos Miller
Not yet.
DC Young Fly
I think I might. I'm the type of person, I might not never ask for it.
Carlos Miller
It's just the just knowing that.
DC Young Fly
Knowing that it.
Carlos Miller
You know what I mean?
DC Young Fly
That I'm one in with him is good enough.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rory
Yeah. Have you spoke to. To D.C. since the. The Ross shot on the last album?
DC Young Fly
Of course.
Rory
What was his reaction to it?
DC Young Fly
I'm gonna have to let him come tell you.
Rel Howery
What did he. But so what. What did Ross say, though?
Carlos Miller
He just spoke about. Well, he. He. He said he. He walk off on Goofy Niggas.
DC Young Fly
All you DC Young flies get one time.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, for real.
Rory
That's his one favorite.
Carlos Miller
Talking about the walk off on 85.
Rel Howery
So off these Old. Not even just rappers, comedians and all these. These. They really in a midlife crisis for sure. We're seeing like the entertainers we know for a while, they aging and they being weird.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. Because they don't know which side they want to, you know.
DC Young Fly
Yeah.
Rel Howery
That's what it is. It's kind of. It's just really uncomfortably weird to watch that. Like, that's a shot for no reason.
Carlos Miller
I still don't understand, but I like the. You know, dc, he posted something on his. On his. On his. On his Instagram and basically just listen and laughing. But I know what that laugh is like. He's gearing up to. To do something. It's like, okay, I'm gonna have to get into my comedic. You know, I'm.
DC Young Fly
I don't think it was a comedic thing. I don't think his response. I don't think the response that he's thinking is comedic. I think he's thinking more on the music side because, you know, D.C. real serious about his music and he's extremely talented in both avenues.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
And I don't think it's like, you know, we looking at it as like just a rapper throwing a shot at a comedian, but he looking at it as way more than that, way bigger than that.
Rory
It's a good time too, because it's like a challenge.
DC Young Fly
It's like, I'm gonna say something to you and you can't. You don't have the platform or the avenue to say anything back outside of some goofy shit. Yeah, that's not the case.
Rel Howery
Goofy ass nigga. Come on, Ross, you can do better than that.
Rory
That is what Ross wants. Like. Like, because I. Do you really think he's been harboring that for real or is Ross is doing what he does when he needs to promote album?
DC Young Fly
No, I think he been sitting on that.
Rel Howery
I think he has too, actually.
DC Young Fly
I think this is not the first time that he exchanged. You know, they did the whole in the pool shit.
Rory
Oh, yeah, yeah, I remember that.
DC Young Fly
See, it's not the first time. So I feel like this shit is kind of festering. Like it's. It's really bothering him. Maybe it's not to the point where he's bothered, but I think it does bother him.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, for sure.
Rel Howery
I mean, it's like him at 50 in a way. Right? Like.
Rory
Like you.
Rel Howery
Like, when is this ever going to stop?
Rory
But that was also Ross doing some weird. He had no issue with. 50 khed was like, yo, it'll help sell the album. Go dis 50. That's what started it. There wasn't no real issue.
DC Young Fly
So.
Ma
Ma, do you consider that line a diss?
Rel Howery
That's a diss to you?
DC Young Fly
Of course it is.
Cal Penn
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
He called him a goofy ass, basically.
Cal Penn
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
What else that be? That's a shame shot. That's not like a. That's a shot.
Rel Howery
I was wondering.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, I'm walking off on you goofy. That act funny all you DC young flies get one time.
Rel Howery
I mean.
DC Young Fly
Yeah, he hopping bob ass don't cross the gun line.
Carlos Miller
The.
Rel Howery
That mean hopping bob ass don't cross the gun line. Is this threatening to shoot my over some what? I put a bob across the out of here with this.
Carlos Miller
This.
DC Young Fly
I didn't know it was guns being drawn.
Rel Howery
God damn.
Carlos Miller
He's serious too.
Rory
He knows the real Nora. No, he owes him a 100 favors.
DC Young Fly
No, he doesn't.
Rel Howery
That act funny all you DC young flies get one time hopping pop ass don't cross the gun line.
DC Young Fly
You gonna get dissed on the next album.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, bro.
Rel Howery
He give.
DC Young Fly
I just think the timing of this is weird, cuz I just went to his car show and brought some cars out, won some awards.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
But I didn't know that this was coming. I would have if I would have known he was trying to shoot my partner. That's going Now I'm in the.
Rel Howery
I look up. He spoke to you like yo. L. I appreciate it.
Rory
N. He let you hear the ear.
Rel Howery
He wait till.
DC Young Fly
I don't like that though. And I a. I didn't like the. The walk off. I don't know what the dude got going on.
Rory
On. Did y' all speak at the car show?
DC Young Fly
No, I didn't even go over there.
Rory
Okay.
DC Young Fly
The car show was huge. There's thousands of people out there.
Rel Howery
He knew you was gonna be. I was there.
DC Young Fly
He was on the stage. But I didn't never go over there and be like, yo, what's up, bro?
Rel Howery
Like this. Wait till you hear that city boy.
Rory
And you know how Atlanta is running bad guy too.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, yeah.
DC Young Fly
Don't put me in the.
Rel Howery
I didn't.
DC Young Fly
I didn't appreciate it.
Rel Howery
Ross do got a perfect bad guy voice. We should have used that.
DC Young Fly
That's up, man.
Rory
I mean, I'm glad there was a lot of people there because when he was using us to sell the car show tickets, I was like, man, this is the last marketing scheme. Tickets must be really slow if. If we're the.
Carlos Miller
No, but Carlos was there with his cause.
DC Young Fly
Hey, man.
Rel Howery
Didn't get showed up. Like one thing for free wings stop for everybody. To come check out these cars.
DC Young Fly
Just cuz somebody. Just because somebody do some flow don't mean you gotta do something back.
Rory
For sure. That's true.
Carlos Miller
I live by that.
Rel Howery
Yeah, it's funny too because I thought. I think what D.C. already kind of did is enough. It's like, all right, yeah. Cause I think everybody's kind of listened to. Like why are you still bringing very, very odd up.
Carlos Miller
Very odd. Yeah.
Rel Howery
You walked off a day show, right?
DC Young Fly
We didn't do to you.
Carlos Miller
You had this product there, chips, drink, all kind of shit,
DC Young Fly
you know.
Carlos Miller
Now don't cross the gun line.
DC Young Fly
No worrying.
Rory

Cal Penn
Hey, everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Irsay, The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast I'm sitting down with comedian Emily Lynn to talk about the Audible original series Heads Will Roll. Heir apparent, the second installment of the gloriously unhinged fantasy comic she co created with her sister Kate McKinnon. An evil queen has to produce an heir before her 40th birthday, or a swamp demon comes to collect and her best friend is a cursed raven who gets turned into a toad.
Ma
There was only one character that immediately we were like, we need Richard Kyne for this. We had written this love addict, this neurotic love addiction. And originally we were just calling him General Richard Kind. And he was like, could you change my name? I don't necessarily want to be associated with this freak. And we were happy to do that.
Cal Penn
Listen to Earsay on the iHeartRadio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
DC Young Fly
But I don't cross the gun line.
Rel Howery
I live down the street from this.
DC Young Fly
Where is the gun line? Exactly.
Rel Howery
He's over there. My mother, parents. Cause I own animals.
DC Young Fly
Am I good? Am I good? Am I. Am I good? Or am I one of the goofy ass.
Carlos Miller
It's doofy ass niggas.
DC Young Fly
He didn't even say my name. All you goofy ass. But dc, you got one time. Everybody else with a podcast.
Rel Howery
All you goof ass with DC Young Fly, you down to your last straight.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
Post about the fun man.
DC Young Fly
Somebody plugged me with 50 we need. I need to get. I don't want 50 cent on the show. I want pimping Curly as a guest.
Rel Howery
That's all they do.
DC Young Fly
Try to make a don't look good. Stop, man. Hey, man.
Carlos Miller
We lay here calling calls like I live down the street from this Nevada. Where's the gun line?
DC Young Fly
Should I take the other side? Should I come up the other side? But what I like the way that I go.
Rel Howery
It's faster.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Rel Howery
Hold on. You remember. You gotta remember this. Remember Living Color did this kit about. About Arcenial hall stalker Eddie Murphy with that long ass. Yeah, that's what this feel like.
DC Young Fly
Carlos.
Rel Howery
Oh, I'mma get you. Carlos. You better tell DC Young Fly I'm coming for, man. Liver Featherweight Flats. Red Stress City Carrots. Carlos.
DC Young Fly
Don't say my name, man. Stop, stop, stop, man.
Carlos Miller
This is.
DC Young Fly
I didn't.
Rel Howery
I Don't know.
Rory
I need to see the script of Rick Ross.
DC Young Fly
I don't condone this type of behavior, man. Whatever D.C. is cooking up, it will be independent on his own.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
He has not used to call us. He hasn't sent me no beats or nothing. I'm not featured on nothing.
Rel Howery
Yeah, but goofy funny better watch out. Russ is back. You.
DC Young Fly
You got to be an evil to hate laughing though.
Rel Howery
I hate comedy.
DC Young Fly
What the happened man?
Rel Howery
What happened?
Carlos Miller
We started taking ourselves too seriously, man. That's what happened.
DC Young Fly
Even when they was doing the exchange, D.C. kept it light.
Rel Howery
Yeah, yeah.
DC Young Fly
The came back and he was in the pool. Little homie. I did it for free.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, that was his favor.
Rory
But that's where the aging gracefully has changed with Ross because like the DJ envious. Like that was hilarious. Like Ross used to be funny with trolls. Now to me it's just odd. Like you going a little too.
Rel Howery
It do feel like. It do feel like some immaturity in it in a weird way. Like, you know, because I enjoy watching 50 do what 50 do. Cause it just seemed like whatever it
DC Young Fly
is real with you. It's just not gangster. It's not gangster to be for comedians. We. We don't take this shit serious enough for you, right? For you to be that upset.
Rel Howery
Yeah, but you got a river sir. I'll never forget. It hasn't always been rappers that was fucking comedians. So when Eddie Murphy was doing James Brown all the time. If you go listen to living in America for no reason. James Brown, hell's out. Eat your heart out. Eddie Murphy for no fucking reason. I swear to God, for no reason. He just yells out eat your heart out. Eddie Murphy in the middle of living in America. Like he was sick of Eddie Murphy doing.
Rory
He was on his heels with party
Carlos Miller
all the time Eddie Murphy, eat your heart out to the bridge.
Rel Howery
It didn't make any sense. If you listen to the whole song, you just hear you feeling it living
Ma
in
Rel Howery
real profound message and get or nothing.
Carlos Miller
I know Eddie had to love that.
DC Young Fly
Even with comedians is lame. It don't go nowhere crazy. Only comedians can beef with comedians, man.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, it is odd when.
Rel Howery
And that's stupid too.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
N. That is entertaining. Still that Joe Rogan, Carlos Messia.
Rel Howery
That was crazy.
Rory
Yeah, that was pretty funny that they put the Mexican music behind him when he's like that. I laugh. I laughed.
DC Young Fly
Come on, man. Ross ain't gonna make it that fun. It's. I don't know. We'll see.
Rel Howery
Because he. Because think about this. Ross couldn't keep it like, light. Because if he would have just did those two lines, maybe it have been okay. But then you start throwing gun line in there.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Don't cross the gun line.
Rel Howery
Where is he? Why you throwing that?
DC Young Fly
I'm about to start going all the way around. I'm not. Man. He watched this show, too. He watch y'. All.
Carlos Miller
He to used. He used to.
DC Young Fly
He still do. He tap in.
Carlos Miller
Well, now that we've said his name. Somebody sent him clips. Yeah, for sure.
Rel Howery
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
He's like. Yeah. I don't think he.
Rel Howery
Baby.
DC Young Fly
Who's one of y'?
Cal Penn
All?
DC Young Fly
He's one of y'.
Daniel Cormier
All.
DC Young Fly
He don't with. I don't. You know, I don't give a. I think it's you.
Carlos Miller
Yeah, probably.
DC Young Fly
I think it's you.
Carlos Miller
You know, Nubian or Nubian crime, you know?
DC Young Fly
You know, that's. Yeah, yeah.
Carlos Miller
We hate each other. He added my.
Rory
My baby mother.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
You got one time. Don't cross the gun line.
Rory
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
You can't cross the gun.
Rel Howery
It'd be funny if he had, like, a bunch of tags for. Oh, yeah. He just went with D.C. like all that in with the gun line.
DC Young Fly
Rory and now will never be pals.
Rel Howery
Don't be hopping across the gun line. We'll keep that. We'll just do different. Punch me in.
Cal Penn
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. Push me in.
DC Young Fly
Oh, man.
Rory
Holy.
DC Young Fly
I can't take that serious, man. I don't know.
Carlos Miller
I don't take none of this serious. So once these cameras turn off, niggas go home. I don't pay it no more.
Rory
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Cause you live in New York, and you don't have to worry about crossing the gun line.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. That's a fact. In New York, you don't have to worry about crossing gun. Now, you, on the other hand, though.
DC Young Fly
I mean, I'm right there.
Carlos Miller
You right there.
Rel Howery
You right down the street, dirt road.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. It's different for you.
DC Young Fly
I'm going to say. It's just like two lefts and a right.
Carlos Miller
Yeah. Now you got to make two rights and the left.
Rel Howery
Now you got to.
DC Young Fly
I'm have to go all the way around.
Rory
New gas station, everything, man.
Rel Howery
Make two rights to the left. D.C. young, fly, goofy ass. I'll see you at the gas station.
Rory
This is gonna be Ross's voice on his gps. Who changed these things?
Rel Howery
Make a rattle chestnut.
DC Young Fly
I don't like that he gotta come up. He gotta leave my little partner alone, man. My little brother.
Carlos Miller
He'd be all right, man. It's just, you know, let's just ending.
Rel Howery
That was very random. I will leave it at this. I'm glad he knows it now. Hopefully watching y' all show if how insane that is just to do that.
DC Young Fly
And it's DC Height. It's not somebody you can even stay mad at.
Rel Howery
It was nothing rapper about it. It's.
DC Young Fly
It's not gangster. We just going to have to vote.
Carlos Miller
It's all supposed to be in fun and just let's laugh a little bit like you said. Who don't want to laugh?
DC Young Fly
Come on, man. You hate laughter.
Rory
Ross made a six minute. Dis was fake.
Rel Howery
You trying to be funny, huh?
Ma
Yeah.
Carlos Miller
Oh, yeah, bro. He gonna be on you for sure. You gonna be on the job.
Rel Howery
I'm g. Tell the gds no.
DC Young Fly
Oh, man, you. You just crossed the gun.
Rel Howery
Just cross a gun line.
DC Young Fly
Don't put.
Rel Howery
Can we cut that one?
Rory
He did say Larry Hoover in a song. Pissed about that when he mentioned it in bmf.
Rel Howery
Doing that. Like when you just naming people.
Carlos Miller
Oh, yeah.
Rel Howery
I'm kind of crazy.
Carlos Miller
You can't do that rap or not. You ain't supposed to do nothing like that. Horning Heist, July 24th.
Rory
What you expect about a guy that names himself Rick Ross? He can't feel like he's big me for Larry Hoover that day.
Carlos Miller
That is true.
Rory
Like the Village People. He just dresses up as different drug dealers depending the day.
Carlos Miller
We gonna go see this movie as.
Rel Howery
Please go see this movie. It's independent films. Support independent filmmaking. You know what I mean?
DC Young Fly
Man, buy some popcorn, too, and a drink.
Rel Howery
And the extra butter's on me.
Rory
Bring Wingstop into the theater.
Carlos Miller
July 24th. Rel, real quick, before we let y' all go, what are some of the things that. Because, as you know, coming up, in our communities, we always just look at the roles of acting or being an athlete. Like, what are some of the things that, you know, a lot of the young kids should look into, if it's not acting, but getting into movie making and tv, some of the role and things that they should look into.
Rel Howery
Learn all this stuff, man, like all the. Behind us, you know, And I want to figure out a program. Hopefully I. I'll figure this out in another year or so. But it's so many different roles, man. It's so important. Lighting to everything. Writing, writing, like cameraman. I think we only. They only know the building star part of it, but you could be a star.
DC Young Fly
These other fields, there's unions for all of this, man.
Rel Howery
Everything.
DC Young Fly
People who build the sets, man, get in the props. We need black, black prop masters, man.
Rel Howery
We need more Black stun.
DC Young Fly
Hell, yeah. Learn how to finance a movie, right?
Rel Howery
Yeah.
Ma
Intimacy coordinators.
DC Young Fly
Intimacy coordinator. That is a great job for somebody who is a hoe.
Cal Penn
Okay.
Ma
Whoa, Jesus.
DC Young Fly
No, I'm saying, like, if you promiscuous in these streets.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
You will be good as an intimacy coordinator.
Rel Howery
Intimacy coordinators are some of the most random people. You.
DC Young Fly
Yeah, because you got to make it look real.
Rel Howery
Well, it depends on what city you from, what type of coordinator. Like, if. Like, if you. If you get intimacy coordinated from, like, New York or la, like, they're more into whatever TV or film. But if you go to, like, some random city you shooting at, you really don't know where this lady came from. Yeah.
Rory
Like, when you're in Vancouver, like, you
Rel Howery
know, I mean, you don't know why they show up. You'd be like, see, when y' all kiss.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
You supposed to be talking to us like that.
DC Young Fly
You gotta put your nuts in the sock.
Rel Howery
Now do it in front of me.
DC Young Fly
You need a nylon sock.
Rel Howery
Yeah, yeah. I've had some NTBC coordinators that made me feel. Feel uncomfortable.
Rory
We're gonna shoot the rehearsal.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
Rory
In the trailer. It had.
Rel Howery
I think we did have. Well, let me say yes. Yes, we did.
Ma
Yeah, yeah.
Rory
Of course. Of course.
Rel Howery
Of course we did.
Carlos Miller
Damn right we did.
Daniel Cormier
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Damn.
Rory
Two meals.
DC Young Fly
You can make 50 to $90,000 being an intimacy coordinator. Yeah, that's. Damn.
Rory
You do that with only fans making a lot of money.
Rel Howery
The movie I just shot just shot this thriller, and it was, you know, whatever sex scenes or whatever we actually had. She was a good intimacy coordinator. She wasn't weird. She was cool. She made sure, like, you know, the crew wasn't, like, looking at us and putting our giving up. She was good. I actually liked her a lot. But I've literally worked with some other ones that was more creepy than. Yeah, okay.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
Rel Howery
So show me how y' all gonna hug.
DC Young Fly
So if I put my hands right here, tell me how they make you feel. That's okay.
Carlos Miller
Yeah.
DC Young Fly
Now lift her leg up with her leg.
Rel Howery
Now, if you lick your ch.
Ma
Okay.
Rel Howery
You ain't supposed to be saying O lady. Okay.
DC Young Fly
Don't lick the nipple. Just the areola.
Rel Howery
And action. Like, you ain't supposed to be yelling.
Daniel Cormier
Action.
Rel Howery
Get the offset. I tell you what.
DC Young Fly
I tell you what.
Carlos Miller
I'm gonna lay in the bed with y'.
Daniel Cormier
All.
DC Young Fly
I'mma get in with y'.
Rory
All.
Carlos Miller
So we.
Rel Howery
We all. We in a cup.
Rory
She just pop up.
Rel Howery
Oh, okay. God, the. You doing Elisa? I'm just making sure the intimacy is Coordinated.
DC Young Fly
Just making sure nothing's touching under the sheet.
Rory
You remember we had. We had Chris Gotti on. He directed a movie for. For Tubi. And we were having that conversation about. He was like, yeah, it was me and Lance Stevenson. We were the intimacy coordinators. Like, I don't know if that's legal.
Rel Howery
Lance Stevenson, intimacy coordinators.
Rory
He's the one directing the sex scene.
Rel Howery
Yo, that's insane. Now slap her ass. Harder. Harder.
Rory
I think Chris Gotti said he showed up to set late and he was like, no, we redoing this whole sex scene. Now I'm in charge.
DC Young Fly
They definitely crossed the gun line for sure.
Carlos Miller
100%. That was the start of coordinator right there. That was the start of l gotta
