This points us forward to the promise of a new covenant in Jeremiah 31—a covenant where God writes His law on our hearts.Jesus did not come to abolish the law, but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). As our High Priest (Hebrews 8), He establishes a better covenant based on better promises.
