Hey there and welcome to episode 322 of the no Bullshit Leadership Podcast. Now in this week's episode, we're launching our brand new free community on the school platform and it's called the no Bullshit Leadership Hub. Fun fact. In case you didn't know, our business started as the brainchild of my daughter Emma Green. This podcast was her idea. We've been going Strong for over six years with more than 400 episodes. Once you include the moments with Martyr, no Bullshit Leadership has become one of a small handful of really successful leadership podcasts and we're ranked in the top 0.5% of all podcasts globally. We are making an impact and it's all thanks to leaders like you who have the courage to be better. Now, as a big thank you for your loyalty and dedication, we decided to create a new completely free community space on school, which we've designed for leaders just like you. Leaders who are serious about cutting through the bullshit and getting real results. Let's be honest, it's harder than ever to stay connected despite all of the technology. We are drowning in information, but this is only making it harder to get real clarity, to live by the simplicity and focus principle that I'm so firm on. This is where the no bullshit leadership hub comes in. We're creating the hub as a space for like minded leaders to connect, to learn and to grow both online and offline. Real leaders having real conversations about the things that actually matter. And if you haven't already worked it out, there's a huge amount of power in this. Now. You wouldn't know it to look at me, but I used to be a marathon runner. And in my even younger days I was a fair to middling middle distance runner and rugby player. The value of the principles that I learned in team sport can't be underestimated. Practical lessons about courage and teamwork and the quest for excellence and shared adversity. And having experienced that at a relatively young age, I really understood the strength of the bonds that could be forged. I developed pretty rapidly as my teammates pushed me to be better. It was a team and it was a community and it was defined by a shared purpose and objectives. Winning. Now, years after I retired from rugby, I resumed my running career. And when I started out, I was pounding the pavements solo. It was lonely and it was hard. Then I found an old mate of mine who lived not far from me in Canberra, who had kept up his running discipline from his school days. He introduced me to the running groups that he trained with. On any given day, I would join one of these groups for my daily run. Depending on my schedule and my desired mileage. This made my journey to health and fitness exponentially better. When I was in marathon build up mode, we'd log some pretty long miles. We'd meet before the sun came up on a Saturday morning and we'd often cover 25 or 30 kilometres. We'd be out on the road together for over two hours. We spent a lot of time talking to each other over the course of these runs. You can imagine how well we got to know each other. We covered a lot of ground and we spoke about pretty much every aspect of our lives. We talked about some of the most inane things, like how many miles we were getting out of different pairs of running shoes. We also took deep dives into our most challenging career and relationship issues. This is where the value of community became so obvious to me. The journey to better health through running was night and day different when I had a community to share the struggles and victories with. Community matters, especially for leaders. Leadership can feel lonely, but it doesn't have to be. I was really fortunate during my executive career that I built some great teams around me that gave me a sense of shared purpose without breaking the friendly not friends principle. Of course, having the right people around you, people who share your values, who know the weight of responsibility you carry every day as a leader, these people make all the difference. Em and I have been trying to work out how to build a stronger community, and this is why we've created the no Bullshit Leadership Hub. As podcast listeners, we already know a few things about you. The first is that you want to improve your leadership capability and confidence. On top of that, you take your duty of care to your people really seriously. And you aren't just looking for shortcuts or silver bullets. You want more than that. Motivation and inspiration that wears off within a couple of hours. Just this alone puts you in the top 10% of all leaders by my estimation. But as good as you are individually, imagine how much you could multiply your effectiveness by leveraging others in this elite group. This hub is a space for you to find those people to connect over the hard stuff, the real stuff. Whether it's navigating difficult conversations or holding your team to account for their choices, or driving performance when it feels like everything's against you. Think of it as having your own team of no Bullshit mentors in your corner, always there to push you to be better. Let me just introduce you to the Podcast club. We've had hundreds of leaders tell us how they use the podcasts to get their teams familiar with the no Bullshit Leadership concepts. We love hearing this, right? And some of you have been doing it for years. That's why we're launching something we're really excited about, the Member Led Podcast Club. Now, think of it like a book club, but for the podcast. Every week we're going to drop a new resource into the hub, which is going to guide you through a whole bunch of reflection questions and help you to put that episode in your team's context so that you can discuss it with your leaders or peers. It's easy to just listen to an episode, then tick the box and move on. But the podcast club is going to help you to take the concepts from an episode and apply them directly to your leadership context. For example, let's take our guide on respect before popularity. This is all about balancing the tension between doing what your people would prefer and setting high standards for team performance. The resource that we put in the hub is is going to give you a whole range of discussion questions. You can ask questions like how can you improve your leadership effectiveness by prioritising the need for respect over your need to be liked? Or another question. How do you challenge your team to meet a higher standard while still maintaining their commitment and engagement? Whether you use these questions with your team or in a peer group, the idea is to dig deep, to have real conversations and to walk away with actionable takeaways. You're going to push your team to think differently, to create a culture of open dialogue and hold each other accountable for improving. This is what you want in your culture. Obviously, the best case scenario is that every leader eventually commits to our leadership beyond the theory program. That's where the real transformation happens. But if that's not yet on the cards for you, the member led podcast club is is the next best thing for getting your team on the same page and embedding the principles of leading for performance in a structured way. So how do you get the most out of the member led podcast club? There are a few ways to make it work for you. The first is if you take it to your leadership team. Assign the episode for everyone to listen to. Then have a weekly or fortnightly team discussion. After listening to it, assign a facilitator. Pick a few relevant questions from the guide and work through how the concepts apply to your current challenges. Finish with clear, actionable takeaways and agreement as to which things each team member is going to work on. You could also use it in peer groups. So maybe you're part of a mastermind or you regularly catch up with other leaders. Bring the podcast club questions into those meetings. It's an awesome way to structure your sessions and to add real value beyond that surface level catch up that we normally have. Turn it from a coffee club into a learning club. You can also use it for self reflection. Even if you're flying solo, these resources are still gold. So take some time to work through the questions on your own, to reflect and to figure out how you can apply the insights directly to your team. This will help you to hold yourself accountable for implementing and not for just casually listening. Whatever your setup, the Podcast Club is a killer way to start embedding no Bullshit leadership principles into your own leadership fingerprint. The no Bullshit Leadership Hub isn't just a place to hang out online. This is where like minded leaders who listen to the podcast are going to come together to connect and share ideas. But you'll also get preferential access to resources and challenges and live events. You'll be able to lead discussions with your own team using the Podcast Club materials and you can also choose to jump into the weekly Leadership Challenges which are going to be designed to push you to apply your insights in real time. Em and I are also going to throw in some killer perks so top contributors will get access to exclusive prizes, course scholarships and VIP access to live events. So imagine this. You're in the room with other leaders who are just as serious about leadership as you are, who aren't afraid of the hard work, and who know how to have a little bit of fun along the way. If you're serious about stepping up your leadership game, this is where you need to be. So what are you waiting for? Head to school.comnblh that's s k o o l.comnblh and join the no Bullshit Leadership Hub. Today we're going to put a link in the show notes as well. This is your space to grow and connect and lead with confidence. This is the community that's going to make your leadership journey so much easier and faster and more enjoyable. We're going to be dropping new resources, challenges and content every week. So don't wait. Jump in, get engaged and let's start building this no Bullshit community of leaders together. Remember, it's not about having all the answers, it's about being willing to ask the hard questions. I can't wait to see you in the Hub.
