Good morning, sweet world, and welcome to the no Dunks podcast presented by FanDuel. It's Saturday, May 2, 2026. This is the Weekend Shift, our first weekend shift of the 2026 NBA playoffs. A solo Dolo podcast from your boy J.D. skeets to break down last night's crazy NBA action. I'm hosting, I'm producing here in the yard. I'm trying my best to read your comments. Appreciate everybody joining me live on YouTube right now in the Stream team. You love to see it. Obviously a lot of Raptors fans in the Stream team here on a Saturday after what went down last night in Toronto. A couple game sevens. Three in total this weekend. We'll set that up later. But come on, the real reason everybody is Here is for Zaza. We going to game seven, baby. Game seven. Game seven. Yes, we are. Hell yeah, Zaza. RJ Barrett just hit a shot that's going to be a part of Raptors lore forever. I don't even care if they go on to lose in Game 7 in Cleveland on Sunday. It doesn't matter. Insane lucky bounce. We've had that happen on that rim before in Toronto, and this one was the one bounce variety. More of a Halliburton, as even Tyrese Halliburton said on Twitter. Hit the back of the rim, bounced sky high. That thing went so high in the air above the backboard before falling through as the cello crowd there. And Jurassic park went absolutely nuts. Incredible shot. It looked like the Raptors were unfortunately going to give this one away in the fourth quarter, but it gets to overtime and a lot happened. I'll go through some of it, but RJ Barrett, the kid from Saga, the hometown hero, hits that, and that was awesome, especially because he had been struggling. But this guy all series long has really brought it, has not been afraid of the playoff moment. And I guess told even Scotty Barnes there in that final play, look, if there's nothing for you, if they double up, I got you. Kick it out to me. I'll hit an insanely lucky shot. We will be blessed by the basketball gods. And it drops. And obviously they hold on at the end there. Mobley got a look, Evan Mobley got a look. But it came up short. And we have a game seven, baby. We got Zaza in this crazy series. We only got to the lucky bounce because of the ball going off of Mobley's hands late. Did it go off Mobley's hands late? Look, that's what the officials called. All the Cavs had to do, though, was like, hold on to it. Of course, get fouled, make free throws, and you're probably winning this, probably winning in six. And instead, the Raptors pressured Dennis Schroeder there in the backcourt. He sort of had to panic a little bit. We were once again getting close to an 8 second shot clock violation. It was looming. So he threw it ahead. He saw Mobley crowded by Colin Murray Boyles, cmb, sort of punched at it, swiped at it, and the rest said, oh, yeah, when he did that, it did the whole thing where like, you know, I hit it, the defensive player hits it, and then it goes off the offensive guy. And that's sort of how they got the opportunity, which is crazy. It's crazy that they have a chance to advance in this series because again, they look great. Going into the fourth quarter, the Raptors did, but I guess they were what, up 11 points. But then Donovan Mitchell came to life. Evan Mobley was really good and he hit that sweeping left handed, lay in there with 11 seconds left. Pretty easy to force over time, but the Raptors did just enough in a, in a crazy extra period that was actually really fun. Sometimes overtime suck, be it playoff games or regular season games. You know, you play this awesome 48 minutes and then they're duds. This one was obviously still close and big plays were being made. And if you're a Raptors fan, you're like, oh, that's it. We screwed it. But they come through. What a, what a game. Basketball's the best, guys. It's the best. You know, we go through all these at times crappy, boring regular season games where suddenly it's all about tanking and that's all everybody's talking about. But when we get to the goddamn playoffs, it's fun as hell. And just the, the stakes are so high and the drama is incredible and we have these big plays and now we have a game seven. So I love that we have three chances with game sevens here on the weekend because we've seen game sevens before. They can turn into routes. My gut will say there will be one that is very anticlimactic this weekend. I don't know which one in Boston, obviously in Detroit or in Cleveland. It feels like one of them will be. But I like our chances with three bites at the apple for like an all timer, let's call it that. That comes down to like a big shot or something like that. So hopefully, hopefully it's all three games, but more likely one, right? One or maybe even two. Let's talk about Scotty Barnes though, because RJ Barrett, love it. He's the hero. That's great. There's just no chance we're going to game seven without Scotty Barnes. All series long, ending game six. Scotty two, Hottie, 25 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds, three steals, three blocks. He played 48 minutes. It's an overtime game, so there's some extra minutes, but unbelievable that this guy two days removed from looked like a, you know, a quadricep injury where he. The charley horse variety at the very least. He's like grimacing on the bench in game six and looked like shell of his former self in the second half just from the jump setting the tone. And he just like in a series where there's a bunch of all stars and former all Stars and all NBA guys still in Donovan Mitchell. Scotty Barnes has been the best player in this series, period. It's. I don't even think it's close. And right now through, you know, six games here and you know, Donovan Mitchell might make me look silly with what he does in a game seven or maybe Mobley or I was gonna say Harding, but come on. But now Scotty Barnes has I believe like two of the best playoff games in Raptors history. Already he's averaging 24 points per game on 50% shooting, nine assists per game. And my just favorite part, especially coming back in this series is he is just playing with a level of hunger that is infectious to the rest of the team and all of these young guys on the team. I mean the fact that the Raptors have this to game seven with no quickly all series now, no Ingram over the last couple of games. Purdl, you know, he's had like what, a five minute stint in this series. Mamu can't play. It's a rookie in cmb. It's two sophomore guys in Jacoby Walter and Jamal Shedding who are giving it everything they possibly have. It's, it's RJ Barrett who was like, you know, sort of a castaway after being a high draft pick and was like almost like considered like a throw in to the quickly OG trade in a weird way, like a toxic asset or whatever. And, and it's those four guys and then it's of course Scotty Barnes leading the way and that they're taking on a team that has a huge payroll and obviously a lot of expectations to advance in the Cavaliers. And they've made it into, you know, a 48 minute basketball game, maybe more, maybe it goes overtime again, but anything can happen. And how hard they play is, is at least you at least hope that they won't get run into the gym there on Sunday. Now I say all that knowing that the Raptors cannot win in Cleveland. Why? We don't know. But they have yet to win in 10 playoff games in Cleveland. So the home team has won every game in this series, but this goes back very far. They just cannot win in that barn. Obviously got to get it done on Sunday, but I don't even care. I'm at the point I don't even care. I, I was very critical of this team. If you've been watching no dunks all season long, when the season started and there was that stretch, I was infuriated with Darko and like how they talked a big game about all this defensive identity and all that. And they didn't have it. They didn't have fight and stuff like that. And it's taken a very long time, but this was the team that sort of. They, they were saying they were going to be all year long and then weren't, but they got here and it's. And it's at least like you're. I take pride in cheering for this team now. So it's a live or die game here. But I can't wait. I can't wait. And they made a believer out of me and even Darko and I think as Raptors in seven, which is hopefully, you know, the perfectly named substack and they do a great job over there. They put it that entering these playoffs, you know, there were so many questions about this Raptors team. It's. Could they first off just compete against a good team despite that gross ugly record against top 10 opponents all season long, which they couldn't, but they have here. Could RJ Barrett be a net positive in the playoffs? He 100% has. What would the kids look and play like? As I talked about Shed Walter, cmb, I was really focused on Murray Boyles. I was like throwing him into the lion's den. Let him get this experience. And he has exceeded any expectations of what he could deliver in his first playoff run. And then the question that mattered more than all of those questions was, is Scotty Barnes a legitimate franchise player in a postseason setting? The answer is yes. Now I say that still looking at Scotty as to me at least not the guy, it's like we need two man, go get us a bucket. He doesn't really do that and they probably never will. But of course, defensively he's a goddamn stud. And then offensively he's asked to do so much. He's either like a power forward or center at times and he's a point guard and he's just making the right play after right play. He's feeling comfortable. He obviously can bully ball so many guys. He can get to his shot, which you're hoping that mid range is feeling and drop in. And then he's just. Playmaking is unreal. Like his ability to dump the ball in and around the rim is crazy. And he's reading everything right now. Feels like the game is slowed down. So he is. He is. I think he's proven it here that he's of course like a. He's a guy you can build a franchise around. So that's awesome. That's awesome for Raptors fans I think still still a lot of things around the the edges that they need to work out whether they win or lose this series. But that's good to know. And the obviously the CMB part is really exciting too. Wow. Okay, so that was that game. Let me take a quick pause here to drink some coffee and maybe look at the comments Vuori makes soft and

That's Quince.com nodunks for Free Shipping and 365 day returns quints.com nodunks I would suggest everybody go and listen to the hello and welcome podcast with Will, Lou and Alex and our guy Jerome producing. Those two guys are the funniest guys. Maybe. Like I think they're the most underrated funny guys in the in the NBA podcast game. And Will's voice is shot. Of course he's at the game. It's very, very funny to hear their immediate reactions because they did their podcast last night. Yeah, so we'll see in game seven. I'll tell you right now though, if the Raptors I Had the Cavs winning this series like most people. But if the Raptors win this series, I'm taking them in the next round. I don't give a shit. I will be right back on board just with how hard they play, but I'm getting ahead of myself. And of course, there's been a lot of big games for Harden and Mitchell and. And some of those other guys on that squad. So not gonna be easy, and they gotta win there. But entertaining at the very least. A game six and that shot at Jurassic Park. Close. Man, oh, man. Took me back. Took me back to 2019. I was in Jurassic park the night they won the championship. I'm doing a hit for our final show at NBA TV as the starters or basically our final show. And then I'm doing. Yeah, I was, like, jumping on some other NBA TV programming because I'm in Jurassic park anyway. Obviously, I got to experience the joy of being there and then winning a championship and the city going nuts. And by all accounts, from my friends in Toronto and listening to Will and Alex, like I said, you know, it was a version of that last night to force a Game seven in the first round. You know, different stakes, sure, but still fun nonetheless. And I just hope. I just hope this RJ Barrett shop, it will. It will last forever because it's an incredibly sort of lucky and wild shot and. And all that. But I hope it's not like OG Anunoby Game 3 of the bubble against the Celtics when they're down 20 and there's like, what, half a second left and Kyle Lowry does the old loop and pass to OG and he's got to flick it up and it goes in and he has the stoic reaction, and it's like. It was incredible. It got the Raptors back into that series. Of course, it's in the bubble. There's no fans. It's, like, so weird. I just rewatched it. It's like, oh, my God, what were we doing? This was insane. But then it's like, you know, it's always remembered for Raptors fans, but in the end, they didn't win the series. So it's like, okay, so hopefully that's not the case here, but can't wait to find out. Okay, moving on. I mean, should we do it again? Dare we. Dare we just do another zaza? We go to game seven, baby. Game seven. Game. This one was maybe just as crazy, but in a different way. The Pistons rallied from 24 down to beat the Magic 93. 79 last night. They force a game seven. The Atlanta Hawks the other night laid an epic first half stinker right on Thursday night. And the Magic were like, hold my beer, baby. Watch this. That's cool. You did in the first half. We're gonna do the second half. The Magic scored 19 points in the second half, the lowest point total in any half of a playoff game since the NBA created the damn shot clock since time was invented. So what, it was like four minutes and change left in the third quarter. Anthony Black hit a three. Orlando's lead was 70 to 54. They were up 16 because the Pistons, you know, had come out in the second half. We're hitting some threes getting back into it, but after that Anthony Black three pointer, the Magic built a damn house. Brick by brick. They missed 23 consecutive shots from the field. They were either blocked at the rim every time, missing pull up jumpers or bricking threes, just clanging them. And finally the Pistons basically gave Paolo Banchero a straight line drive for a dunk with like two and a half, 224, I guess officially left in the fourth quarter. You saw the tweets. It was something like 45 minutes of real time between Orlando Magic buckets in a closeout game at home. So they blow the lead. It's somehow not the biggest blown lead in playoff history. No, that was 31 points by the warriors in a game against Clippers. And it's, you know, it's incredibly not even the biggest blown lead in a closeout game. I read that belongs to the 2018 Jazz, who squandered a 25 point lead to the Thunder in Game 5 of their first round series. No one remembers that because the Jazz won game six. So it's like, okay, well that was, that was cool, cool history there. But they just won the series. So this one's different because it feels like, well, look, I think Detroit's gonna win in Little Caesars arena on Sunday. This, it's like a, this is a weird version of you completely outplay a team for a majority of the game. You've just dominated it basically from like minute three. Then the team storms back in the final three minutes and you're like shell shocked. And you're like, holy crap, the game is tied and we have to go to overtime. And when you get those games, sometimes you're like, well, it's already a loss. Like, the team that was trailing for 45 minutes had no right to, to be in this game. And now they're in overtime. They're winning because the other team you know, in this case, the Magic, like, you know, like stars around their head. So like this, what usually that's in a game with the overtime. This feels like game seven is the overtime is my point I'm trying to make here. So I would have. I know it. Look. Score reset, zero, zero. There really isn't much thing as a momentum. We say it all the time. It's sort of bullshit. But I don't know. I got Detroit winning this. That was nuts though. And you know, it's like, it's surprising because who would have thought they'd go 45 minutes without hitting a shot? But we saw the Raptors to put both these series together. We saw the Raptors go on a 310 run against the Magic, like over the first and second quarters of a game in late March. And that had never been done, you know, a 310 run. Like the longest unanswered scoring run we'd ever seen since they started tracking this thing. It's just different, of course, because there were stakes in this game and Orlando is trying to get a playoff series win for the first time in a very long time. They haven't advanced since 2010 and they had so many chances here. And I think they've squandered it, I think. I think. But credit to the Pistons for coming back too. Like, it's one thing for the team to be missing, but you also have to be scoring. They were helped out by their ability to turn those stops into some more free flowing offense on the other end. I thought it really helped Duncan Robinson a couple times who hit four or nine three pointers, he scored 14 points. He was pretty instrumental, I thought, in the second half. Like Kate Cunningham, I mean, this guy's. You talk about a guy that's like a franchise guy. If you weren't convinced, I don't know how you're not convinced at this point what he's done in his series. But Paul Reed, a little love for Bickerstaff playing Paul Reed, I thought he completely changed the tenor of the game there in some of those minutes during the third quarter, we had been wondering if we were going to see some B ball. Paul, why not? And dusted him off and I thought he had an impact as they got back. But you know, as great as Detroit was, it's tough not to just go. You just shot the bed if you're Orlando and Mosley and Paolo with another stinker under his belt. So I don't know what the Stream team's saying here. It feels like A wrap to me that Detroit will win this. It's just sort of mind boggling that they gave it up. Because if you were seeing the score, if you were watching the game, you're like, holy crap. Yeah, Magic are gonna do this. They've always been a good home team. I said that leading into this game during the playoffs recently. That hasn't been a problem. And you're feeling good, you're up huge. Then that start of that second half, I think there was a couple threes from the. The Pistons, a score, and suddenly. Okay, there's tons of time left, of course, but they just went so long and just continuing to clang threes. I mean, Bane. Garbage game. Suggs. Another garbage shooting game, obviously, Paolo. Like I said, they couldn't stop the bleeding. And it was weird because then it's like a blowout for the Pistons in a game where you're down that many points. Jamal Mosley, man, this guy has been fired and rehired and probably fired again in the last two weeks more than anyone in history. But just when you think they're probably done, and I'm saying it's over, they'll make me look silly here. Like, look, missing Franz Wagner. No doubt. No, no doubt. But that was ugly. Oh my God. You imagine being a Magic fan at that game. The. The from the highs of like, holy crap, we're gonna do this to like, oh, God, what's going on here? What's going on here? Throw the towel. And now you gotta play another one here on Sunday. We'll see. We'll see. Final game, Lakers. They had their own run in them. 27 to 3 was the run early in the game buried the Rockets 98 to 78. 78 points from the Houston Rockets in game six. So the Lakers set up a series versus the Thunder. We will preview and predict that one early next week because, because of RJ Barrett, the Lakers don't face the Thunder until Tuesday. That series starts. It would have been on the weekend if RJ Barrett doesn't extend the Raptors Cavs series. So even LeBron was like, thank you, Toronto. Thank you, RJ Barrett. What a shot. I get some more rest. So that's good for LeBron as they try and take down the defending champs, but we'll get to that. As for the game, I don't have a lot to say on this. I think Kelly Dwyer in his newsletter put it well this morning, at some point last night, the Rockets realized, oh yeah, we do miss Kevin Durant. We don't really want to do this anymore. I don't want to be here anymore. Which is disappointing for the young Rockets players to watch Marcus Smart and LeBron James, you know, out hustling them like they're the ones trailing in the series. That's a tough look. And you know, again, these are the youthful, in theory, Rockets versus the older Lakers. And it's the Lakers were the one playing with the urgency. And LeBron, and like LeBron, he understands the assignment. He wasn't definitely not going to be the first team to give up a 30 lead as much as the Internet started buzzing about it, right? Oh, could you imagine? You imagine this is LeBron's final playoff series and he is the one leading a team that gives up a 300 lead. No, no, no. He had his probably most impactful stretch there of the series. He scored 14 points in the second quarter, set the tone for the entire group just like he's done hundreds of times before. And they built the lead in the first half. There's a ton of game left as we just saw in the Pistons magic game. But L A came out firing on all cylinders in the second half. They put the game away at the start of the second half. It was done. Goodbye Houston. Enjoy the beach. LeBron scored on the first possession. Rui Hachimura knocked down a three. Austin Reaves obviously, you know, rounding into form a little bit more. He scored a basket. LA is up by 20. Good night. Especially on a night where nobody could score for the Rockets. In fact, I saw this tweet from Chris Steed. There have been approximately 7,000 total playoff games in NBA ABA history. Orlando, Houston and Atlanta just accounted for three of the top five worst offensive halves in NBA history within a 24 hour timeframe. Pretty mind boggling. At one point, Houston had shooting splits in a game six, must win game six. That looked like 27, 21 and 60. They were shooting 27% from the floor. Even worse from three and a hilarious 60% which looks good to those other numbers. From the free throw line, reed shepherd missed 15 to 19 shots. He was one to 10 from deep. And the three ball like obviously disappeared for Houston after pretty good shooting. In games what, four and five where they hit 26 combined threes, they made five on Friday night. And so pair that bad shooting with just sort of being outplayed, like out hustled by the older Lakers was a recipe for disaster. And that's how we got to this, to this brutal, brutal Game 6 flame out here for Houston and the Lakers. Like again, the rocket shot Poorly. But I want to make it clear that the, the Lakers made that all matter because they took care of the ball in game six. They limited second chance opportunities because they did a really good job. I thought of keeping the Rockets off the offensive glass. They just did all the little things and everybody chipped in. You're led by LeBron against setting the tone and they ran away with it in the end. So they'll take on the Thunder. I don't think Luke is coming back. Right. That's what they're sort of saying. Of course Austin Reaves is back, so that's a nice jolt of scoring for the Lakers. Going to be an uphill battle. Can't imagine a lot of people will be taking the Lakers here to upset the Thunder, who maybe you even forgot was playing basketball still. I sort of did. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, that lone sweep in the first round while all these other series go six and seven. So yeah, we'll see, we'll see. Again, we'll make predictions for that early next week. But congrats to the Lakers for advancing. I think we, most of us agree the series ended at the end of game three when Rocket should have won the game and they blew it. They, they coughed it up. They fouled a three point shoot. They just did all they did, like four boneheaded mistakes to hand the game over to the Lakers. And that, that was, was an overtime one. Right? Maybe one of those perfect examples. It was, it was one of the perfect examples of like, oh my God, what now? We gotta play five more minutes and it's already over. So some choking there from the Rockets in that one. And yeah, you know, at least they made it a series, you could say. But that's when it ended, when they went down 3 0. Of course, because no teams ever come back. It's good reason. These are good teams in the playoffs, even if they have stinker halves here or there. But to beat them four times in a row, whoo. Tough to do that in the regular season. So let's, let's set it up the weekend, baby. Looking fun here. Put my fingers up. We have one game seven tonight. Sixers Celtics in Boston. The Beantown Boys. They're trying to close out that one. They were up 3:1. Is this a rut row and be looking good? You know, they're obviously playing, playing free and easy right now. It's like nobody believed in us. Can the Sixers pull this off on the road again and win in Boston? And then on Sunday, two game sevens, one in Detroit and one, of course, in Cleveland with the Raptors. Oh, my God. The Raptors getting the prime time Sunday night game. Don't let us down, boys. At least make it entertaining. I hope that one more than all of them are at least close, obviously, because I'm a Raptors fan. All right, so that's all I got for you. I had to jump on. I said if we got enough likes on Friday's drop there were enough shares, I would do it. I didn't even check I was lying. You guys knew I was always gonna do this. Especially after those games. Especially after those games. Just catching up on the comments. Love it, love it, love it. W pod. Thank you, Jake. Jake forever. So we will be back. Probably not tomorrow. Very unlikely. Unless we get like the greatest game of all time in Boston tonight. Hey, it's in play. Maybe we'll jump on late. Maybe we'll jump on tomorrow morning. Otherwise, I hope you will join all of us in the Classic Factory on Monday morning, 10am Eastern. If you're new here, if you've stumbled in to this YouTube video here for the first time, I don't know, your algorithm just popped up my face. What's this guy talking about? RJ Barrett. Rj Kidding me. Apparently Devlin didn't even say it on the radio. Call. Come on. Or on the call. That was a Will and Alex Wong. They proposed. That one. It's absolutely atrocious. But very fitting. Would be a very fitting call for the RJ kidding me on that shot. Instead of Are you kidding me? That's good. Oh, yeah. If you stumbled upon this. Hey, we do this every day. Monday through Friday at 10am Eastern, recapping all the games, talking about all the big stories, getting into debates about the new 3, 2, 1 draft lottery. We actually clipped that. Put that one up. So go check that out. But yeah, join us. Playoffs, baby. And maybe we'll start doing these a little bit more on the weekend. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Hit the like button. Subscribe. Podcast listeners, we love you too. Five star ratings and reviews until Monday. Clever Rose. You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys. Awesome. All right, I got a load of laundry to do, guys. I got a load of chores to do. I gotta get the hell out of here. Embrace the day, people. Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host. That is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me, so I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quince has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts, one striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable but still look put together. And the best part is, I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quint's works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Store hours vary by location. I'm U.S. transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. We all get distracted when we drive, whether it's from our phones or kids in the backseat bickering. Viori makes soft and I'm talking extremely soft clothing. I should know. I bought some before this ad came our way. I was wearing my Voris and my wife said, what are those? I haven't seen them. I told her my silky soft Vori shorts of course they look super comfortable, and they are. But I can go out in these anywhere. They're designed to look great beyond the gym. Whether you're running errands, heading to the office or meeting up with friends, it works for everything. She felt them and she said, oh, they're like the PJs we buy for our kids. So Viori got my partner's approval just like that. I also told her that viori is a Finnish word meaning mountain, so I felt as big as a mountain. She didn't really like that, but you'll like this. For our listeners, vuori is offering 20% off your first purchase. Get yourself some of the most comfortable and versatile clothing on The Planet at viori.com nodunks that's V-U-O-R-I.com nodunks.
