bam watch yeah twenty twenty six ultimately i think it's awesome first thing i told my kids this morning when they woke up bam adebayo scored eighty three points last night what couldn't believe it even told my wife every group chat that you have that has any interest in basketball was sending messages last night popping off this is an entertainment product and that was entertaining to see a guy go for eighty three a bizarre fourth quarter we'll absolutely get into it but this man was cooking i thought in the first half that was some real basketball the wizards had no answers for him thirty one in the first quarter he set his career high in the first half getting to forty three and then in the third quarter i thought the wizards were completely defeated they gave up they were not trying on defense and then in the fourth quarter you know triple teaming just trying to make bam not get the ball we had challenges on both sides trying to keep bam off the free throw line or get to the free throw line it was an unusual watch for sure the last twelve minutes especially the last three minutes but still eighty three points in a box score eighty three points up on the jumbotron how cool is

that to see yeah it is absolutely earned that's for sure it was earned from the get go i think it there were perfect ingredients to this having no hero no pow otherwise he doesn't get every shot given to him handed to him set up for him but he was giving it to alex sar and tristan vukovic too slow coming off the bench everybody questioned gil too small anthony gill yeah yeah but he earned them you know he started to get the whistle because that's what happens to stars when you start scoring and all that so did tristan vukovic actually commit those five fouls in the six minutes he played i mean he got borderline but he just wasn't able to get in front of him alex sars got great tape for the summer to watch this thing where he was terrorized really by bam out of bayou but bam earned those things again you know kind of a perfect storm for this guy his previous season high this year was thirty two thirty two and then he

goes and drops fifty more nearly matched it in the first quarter yeah and

it doubles his career high and it is against the wizards who do give up career highs for other guys see corey kisper less than two weeks ago that's what happens with the washington wizards and everybody gets into the fourth quarter and i understand i don't really love intentionally fouling to send a guy to the free throw line but stars do that i should say but teams do that to get stars to a certain total devin booker had that done for him when he got to seventy he had six free throws in the last forty five seconds he made to get him to seventy in his second year that was cool this one is a bigger deal because it's kobe bryant that he beats yes yeah that's why it's even bigger and i don't think that's just us in the moment that's that's just because it's kobe yeah i'd agree

with that this was fun as hell to watch like this is a mid march game here and this was like you couldn't take your eyes off the screen and whether you thought it was ethical or unethical or it got silly and it did in the final couple minutes it did but he was cooking too and we watched a majority of this it was so fun to see a guy like bam in real time like chase down all these individual records you said it tas it started with his previous career high of forty one points so obviously hits that early okay wow how many he's going to finish with like what about you guys what did you think when he had thirty one at the end of the first quarter we've seen monster first quarters before and then guys like trail off right i'm thinking what's the best case scenario for him like i don't know fifty five fifty six he probably ends with

something like that well exactly it's like you're watching and you're like okay bam gets to fifty he'll be in the mix for weirdest guys to score fifty but not really like malachi flynn has done it tony bay has done it tony delk corey brewer like these are guys who that's their biggest moment in their nba career and look bam did say this is his number one game of all time post game he did score eighty three so why wouldn't it be but then he gets to sixty you're like okay he might really be the weirdest guy to score sixty maybe it's kemba walker but as like he's a scorer right he's a guy that has the ball in his hands bam is a post player who's like go to shot as a midi and then i mean realistically i thought he would get to about sixty and then not play the fourth quarter right right because they were up by like twenty five to thirty points for the entire time players are often pulled when that's the case but bam will never have a game like this not just eighty three points it wouldn't be surprising to me if he never gets fifty again it wouldn't be surprising to me if he never gets forty again so he's beloved in miami he is heat culture there eric spoltra said this is the most you've ever been on fire in your life we're going to do everything we can to get you a total as high as we possibly can yeah and

to go back to him chasing down people yeah he so he beats his previous career high of forty one then it's like you know we were having fun in the chat it's like is he going to surpass his girlfriend's aj aj wilson's fifty three a game you were at i was there versus the atlanta dream okay you're watching that so it'll be a fun little story like who will have that in the household he does that then it's like okay is he going to pass lebron's heat record of sixty one that he did against like the bobcat okay he does that and then yeah it gets to that seventy mark and suddenly you're like oh my god he could if he plays if they keep force feeding him he could go for this and it's like wow this is realistic that he could get to eighty and obviously surpass kobe's eighty one which he does in the end with free throws like it was just wild to watch unfold in

real time it's a shocker for a guy whose career high was forty one to double that thing in one night and here he is in year nine this isn't year two right this is where we are so as trey said if he doesn't get to fifty that's not surprising at all if he doesn't get the fifty ever again i should say i mean it's not because it's bam and because he doesn't he doesn't go into his dribble package to create his own shot it's a mid range shot or it's a hook shot and i started to think all right the dinkers and dumpers as as i watch as we watch back all the first quarter and the second quarter and the third quarter but you know you he did put it on the floor and he was hitting his threes and people saying oh that's only here seven of twenty two threes that's not a lot of threes it's not a great percentage he did take a lot of shots there's no doubt you gotta shoot a

yeah wilt when he scored one hundred led the league in scoring kobe when he scored eighty one led the league in scoring like many guys are obviously elite scorer so it's it's strange that this is bam out of bio yeah oh yeah very very strange but like when you get to that seventy plus points mark you know are all of them ever in any of these games guys have done it like are every bucket or every foul drawn ethical so to speak no like will chamberlain i know we don't have footage of this thing but by all accounts people that were there there was fouling going on in the fourth quarter in a bid to get him more possessions for the big dipper to get to the to the one hundred point mark like you know there was hijinks is what i'm getting at kobe you know look he led a comeback versus our raptors no doubt but then in the fourth quarter i mean it was all kobe he like took basically every shot every single free throw as they piled it on to try and obviously run it up and see how high he could get devin booker you brought up that one i mean that one's mad wonky and that was in a hilarious loss too if i remember correctly for the suns and then even like david thompson and david robinson like they're establishing like personal highs while they're trying to set like basically pointless points per game records and stuff like that all of these for the most part have something that gets a little silly or you're like okay is this really basketball because to get to that number you guys sort of got to do this but it doesn't mean it's not entertaining you absolutely do

have to do that you got to score free throws to get to eighty plus or to one hundred which somebody's going to get to one hundred it's going to happen guaranteed but it's the only way to score without the clock running is shooting free throws so that's how you do it this reminded me of a kobe game but not as eighty one point game it reminded me of his last game of his career against the utah jazz when he scored sixty on fifty shots the most ever taken in an nba game and it was like we don't want to see anybody else touch the ball the utah jazz were out there looking like extras that game and that's what bam's teammates were that's what the wizards were for the most part though they were it was awesome to see how hard they were trying to keep him from getting the ball they had two guys step in to try and take a charge on him it was just it was ridiculous chief keef the coach of the wizards he said in the fourth quarter it turned into not a real basketball game it wasn't but it was still

the ugly part was that they kept committing those fouls with two guys on them and just were playing very bad defense and just didn't didn't know how to get the ball out of his hands so that was the ugly part and not and the not fun to watch part seeing a guy go to the free throw line because they're not good at defense yeah

because the heat are making it very clear they want bam to get to kobe's record the wizards you know after getting cooked all game are deciding to try and foul others to halt this scoring barrage so it's these two two obviously different game plans here bumping up against each other and yeah got it got really really silly at the end when they were triple teaming him in the backcourt and he finally like he's forced to pass the ball and it goes to drew smith and they're like oh i foul him and then you know like then they're like purposely missing free throws to try and get it back and all this stuff like yeah right at the end you can roll your eyes at it but you could not look away because you're like oh my god i don't care how this happens this might happen yeah and just a lot of shot attempts i mean that had to have been exhausting because here's what i was thinking through really a lot of this game not just the fourth quarter we used to talk about like or you'd hear like a casual fan when they watch lebron james i go why doesn't lebron james just drive to the basket every single time and just barrel over guys or barrel through guys that's sort of what bam was doing for a majority of this game he was like what if i do that all right let's give it a go that was the strategy in

him with my leg yeah yeah it was it was insane but spo said after the game you know when he got to the seventy market was like i'm not taking him out when is this possibly going to ever happen again i want to be here for this i think that's what ends up happening you're obviously at home the crowd the coach the assistant coaches all the players i even think the referee's got to get in on it a little bit right where they're like holy crap like they're looking at the jumbotron they're seeing he's got seventy five seventy six all right he's drawing contact let's call the foul you gotta get caught up in it is my point once he came

many times yeah and his teammates and the whole organization as you said he's a pillar of this organization they love this guy and that makes sense why they're continuously giving him the ball and letting him do his thing he's a team guy he's he's not a me guy and that's why asia wilson who was in the arena was invited to hang out and do the press conferences too like like he is he's always about other people he's always been about that so on this spectacular night you give him the ball and you watch him go and try and hit kobe's eighty one he did that if only it was two months earlier because that would have been the twenty year ish anniversary of kobe doing it you know it was a jan eighteen january eighteenth

they're absolutely livid because think about it think about any kobe stan any argument they've ever had i'm sure with other people about the greatest players of all time or whatever they're bringing up kobe scoring anyone i mean it's definitely one thing he had on jordan it comes up all the time and so now those kobe stands they say that and the person gets to go who cares bam scored eighty three and you're like oh damn that's a shot to the heart right there that's going to put a hole in your in your idea about kobe a little bit but like i did like it's so silly too like you can still think kobe had a better game in his eighty one i think he did we watched it we were raptors fans he lit our team up but you don't need to diminish bam's incredible accomplishment here too you can you can again at the end sure but they're all amazing any of these guys that score this amount of points in a forty eight minute game it's remarkable it's you know he was helped out a little perfect storm missing some of his other scores and playing
