Good morning, sweet world, and welcome to the no Dunks podcast presented by FanDuel. It's Monday, April 27, 2026. I'm Jake Skeets here in the classic factory and alongside me, as always, Tas Melis.
Trey Kirby
Podcast listeners and other people, this one's for you.
Jake Skeets
Next to him, it's my top shot, hot boy, Trey Kirby. Hey, yo. And over yonder, making the magic happen, super producer JD Hello. There he is. Here we are. Hello to everybody joining us on YouTube. Hit the like button. Subscribe podcast listeners, five star ratings and reviews. J.D. you had a, I guess a small monitor crap out on you right before we went live. Is that what happened? I mean.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, small monitor.
Jake Skeets
My main monitor. Oh, boy.
Trey Kirby
Like I'm only seeing black in front of me.
Jake Skeets
Oh, you're working blind today.
Tas Melis
Wow. Instruments only, as the Pilots say.
Jake Skeets
Oh, my God. All right, well, good luck, man. Buckle up. We got lots to talk about here. In fact, we got the NBA playoff bracket as the first round series continue. Whole lot of games on this NBA weekend, especially if you consider the some crazy ones on Friday night. So a lot of basketball to talk about and get everybody up to speed. Here is the bracket for Those following along. J.D. yeah, it's coming. Okay, great. I was trying to vamp, man. I was vamping my fucking ass off. There it is. Just take a fucking look at it.
Trey Kirby
Who cares?
Jake Skeets
Move on.
Trey Kirby
We played 30 games. Does it feel like we played 30 games so far?
Jake Skeets
Yes. Yep.
Trey Kirby
It feels like a lot for us.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Just because playoffs, you know, I'm trying to watch basically every second, every minute. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
So minute of 30 games thus far.
Jake Skeets
But are four of these series over? We'll get into it. We'll get into it. Sort of maybe have gotten to that point. Here's what we're doing, though, on, on today's podcast, we're ranking the most surprising playoff series so far through two weekends now of playoff action. We're going to divide them up by conferences and then rank them and we'll start out west and it's between two series. It's like, which one do you do? Which one's 1A, which one's 1B? But we'll go with the most surprising result so far in the west being The Lakers up 3:1 on the Rockets. Why this one? Well, we all had the Rockets winning This series, a lot of people did. No Luca, No Austin Reeves and the Lakers had a chance to sweep that thing last night, but the Rockets, led by Amen Thompson and everybody contributing, beat them 11596 to 3. Of my favorite words come playoff time. Stave off elimination. We never say stave off elimination until the playoffs. Yeah, right.
Trey Kirby
Not in normal speak, you don't.
Jake Skeets
No, there's no staving going on.
Tas Melis
I only stave April through June.
Jake Skeets
That's exactly right. So the Rockets live to fight another day, but this one, is this fair to say, the most surprising? It's between this one, obviously, and the Wolves Nuggets, which we'll get to. But what do you think?
Trey Kirby
Yes, because I think this contains the 30th 30 most crazy seconds of any of the playoff games. At the end of. Yeah, well, of any of these 30 playoff games, I think we've got the. The craziest 30 seconds period.
Jake Skeets
That was craz in game three on Friday night.
Cindy Crawford
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
With a team up six having the ball, and your guy bringing it up has two teammates on one side, but there's also an opponent on that side. Well, there's one of your teammates on the other side. You don't choose that one. You choose that side. Brain fart number one. Yeah. And then a steal and then a foul. Why are you following the guy? Let him shoot. That's brain fart number two. It was a true symphony of farts. And then Reed Thompson bring it up. Yeah, it's a. That was. It was insane. Yeah, that. That.
Jake Skeets
If we're talking, it should be 2 2.
Trey Kirby
If we're 2 2, then it's less.
Jake Skeets
4 goes the way it did last.
Trey Kirby
It should be 2 2.
Jake Skeets
Yep. But instead it's 3 1. Lakers.
Tas Melis
Yeah. I did like Reed Shepherd's interviews after game three, where he's like, people will talk about experience, but I've been playing basketball for a long time. Just don't turn the ball over in the last 30 seconds. And we're fine. And he's totally right. But, yeah, a nice winner for the Rockets in game four there on Sunday, setting up a classic question. Are they just gentlemen, or can they really do it?
Jake Skeets
That's right. That's right.
Tas Melis
No team's ever come back from down three. Zero, but teams have come back from down three one, and now they're only down three one.
Trey Kirby
Right.
Tas Melis
It's that easy. It's that easy.
Trey Kirby
And Durant has an extra day off before game number five because this series is so spread out.
Tas Melis
That's Also surprising. Surprised that he didn't play Game one, then surprised that he didn't play Game three and then Game four. I guess a little more understandable, but at least he was in attendance.
Trey Kirby
He was there.
Jake Skeets
The good thing for the Lakers fans, though, is that there's a big gap between Game 4 and Game 5. They don't play till Wednesday. That's good for LeBron James, who looked Wednesday, who looked old from Game 3 to Game 4. Obviously came through in the clutch at the end of Game three on Friday night. But then they have the quick turnaround for this series.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
And LeBron was kept in check. 10 points, 2 of 9 shooting. He had eight turnovers. Credit to Tari Eason, who had the primary defensive assignment on him for most of the night. He played exceptionally well, obviously scored two. He had five of Houston's 17 steals in that Game 4, which tied a franchise playoff record. But again, big gap here for LeBron to rest up and the Lakers to try and close out the gentleman sweep and tip a cap to them as they say goodbye.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, LeBron was stifled by the primary defense. And I thought even Reed shepherd had a couple of those turnovers as the secondary defender. Just being able to sprite right in to the opportunities that he had. And he dove on the floor for his third steel. So it was great for him to recover from that moment at the end of Game three, where he literally had the biggest of brain farts. And also the Rockets weren't even back to help him anyway. So good for him. Good for the Rockets to at least have a gentleman sweep at the very least. But LeBron's eight turnovers. Yeah, they were all over him. They did a very, very good job there, even though he's got the lowest fat percentage on the team. Body fat percentage.
Tas Melis
That's right. Apparently they did say that.
Trey Kirby
They said, I'm like, okay, I don't care that he's got the lowest, but does he. I guess he's pretty jacked. He is jacked.
Tas Melis
I would put Jared Vanderbilt high on the list.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, great. But I'd forgotten about it.
Tas Melis
If you're comparing him to the other superstars on the lakers, I'm taking LeBron. Yeah. The Rockets did a really good job. Eason bringing it from a physicality standpoint, I thought was big. And then like, you're saying Reed shepherd was making plays defensively, and that was kind of like the game plan for the Rockets was doubling LeBron in the post, but not from the same place or at the same time. Sometimes they would Wait till he was a couple of dribbles in. Sometimes they would show help really early. Sometimes it would be baseline, sometimes it would be top side. They confused LeBron, and that's really hard to do, even though as a senior citizen, his foggy moments are more and more. I thought they also went at canard a lot more in this game, and that's something that I brought up last week. It's like we thought the Lakers were going to have a bad defense with luka Doncic and LeBron out there. Instead, they've had Luke Canard out there and the Rockets haven't done anything about it. Amen. Thompson was much more aggressive going at canard. I think a man hit four jumpers as well in this game. I don't know if you can rely on that every night, but at least he was trying to make an impact on the offensive end. You throw in the Rockets forcing 24 turnovers. They blocked four shots. There were just so many live balls. Allowed them to look bigger, badder, faster on the fast break. 30 points off of turnovers for Houston. Look, I'm, I'm tending to tip my cap here and think this is a gentlemanly move by the Rockets. They did exactly what they needed to do in Game four, but they may have waited a little too long to actually make this into a series. So I would say advantage Lakers. I think they probably take it home in Game 5, but at least the Rockets showed some life.
Jake Skeets
Yes, they did. And they're going to need everybody to contribute in game five on Wednesday night in order to extend the series more because Thompson, Shen, Goon, Tari, Eason, Reed, shepherd, like you said, this was by committee, especially with no kd, once again, not playing in this game.
Trey Kirby
But what if he's back?
Jake Skeets
What if he's back? Look, I mean, yeah, this has been a very weird series with, in regards to who's available and then who's playing and all that.
Trey Kirby
No doubt.
Jake Skeets
But they did the rockets in that third quarter, you know, turned a nine point halftime lead into 25 points. And even then, you're watching it, I'm sorry to say. You're going. Well, it's not over with this Rocket team. We've seen them go ice cold. But yeah, maybe because LeBron was tired and this idea of like, okay, we, we're up three. Oh my God, a lot of people weren't even picking us to win this series. We'll take care of business in LA from the Lakers side of things. But yeah, at least they showed some resiliency. Here.
Trey Kirby
But you're right. Nothing is in doubt after what happened at the end of game three. That is a monumental blow up.
Jake Skeets
Oh, that was. It was their. It was their series.
Trey Kirby
It goes down in their playoff history. It's. I'm sure it's a video that anyone can see over and over and over. I'm sure it's, you know, very high in views everywhere. That's. That's monumental. I will say. Yeah.
Tas Melis
You think it's their worst playoff collapse or over 27.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I know.
Tas Melis
Which is more memorable. Yeah, unfortunately.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Well, yeah, I can't tell. I can't tell which one is worse because I was feeling that watching the Raptors game. We'll get to a little bit later when they missed, what was it, 21 consecutive threes. I was having flashbacks.
Tas Melis
You guys are just always thinking about the Raptors.
Trey Kirby
No, no, no, no. I was. While watching the Raptors, I was thinking of the Rockets because When they missed 27 threes in a row, the Raptors had missed 21 free throws, three pointers in a row. But yeah, Reed bounced back to have his best shooting game from three point land going four of seven. That's what we wanted. So we'll see if they can do it.
Jake Skeets
What did you think of DeAndre Ayton's ejection there with the flagrant two foul near the end of this game after he hit Shen Good in the head with his left forearm?
Tas Melis
I think he was telling the truth post game he said, we're two sweaty guys and my arm just slipped off him. But he did clock him in the back of the head with an elbow. Looks bad to me. Probably a flagrant one, but he got ejected and then, you know, James Williams was just feeling himself. A couple more ejections right there at the end for Aaron Holiday and Darrow as well. That was just kind of. Look, this game is over.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
We're not getting the fight. We're not getting any problems set up for game five. We want as full strength as we possibly can be. So I thought the 8 and 1
Jake Skeets
was kind of weird. Yeah. Even Shen Good admitted. Yeah, he's like, yeah, I don't know.
Trey Kirby
I didn't want him to get tossed.
Jake Skeets
It wasn't that bad, I think. Yeah. Devin Booker has got James Williams shook. Comments. He's all panicking now. So he's just tossing guys left and right Gucci ref. But yeah, from the actual eight. And obviously he'll be playing in the next game here.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Sengun saying that with his cool sunglasses on. LeBron going to defend a do Theo. He said post game like he's his big brother, like he's got a second child on the team, saying he shouldn't have got gone, tossed. I feel bad you had to just, you know, tie things up. If you're James Williams, get everybody off the floor. I understand that, but Kevin Durant jumped up and said bye to DeAndre. See you later. I think we. There was that off court moment, but also, if you watch Luca, when the second half started, he came back just a tad bit late. I thought he was talking on his phone because he had his hand close to his face, but then he sat on the bench. He just chewed on his fingernails longer than we've saw LeBron James chew on his fingernails for a long time. It came. The camera would come back, play would, you know, scan to one side. We'd come back, and then he stopped. I said, okay, no big deal. But then another play came back. I'm just watching him chew his nails again. A lot of chewing.
Tas Melis
A lot of chewing.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. That's all I gotta say.
Tas Melis
You think he was nervous?
Trey Kirby
He's super, super nervous.
Jake Skeets
The biggest winner from maybe that result yesterday with the Rockets extending the series is OKC because have a chance to wrap up their series, and they want that thing to go as long as possible as they'll play eventually. The winner of that series looking again like the Lakers. But I don't know this. We've had some already some crazy sort of series here in the. In the playoffs so far. So is it. Is it impossible for the Rockets to at least get us to a Game six, maybe even get us to game seven? I gotta say, no, I don't think they're winning four straight because no one's ever done it. I'll. I think that will continue. Not guarantee. I'm not convinced it's over on Wednesday night. I'm not.
Tas Melis
It's a long rest for LeBron.
Jake Skeets
That's good sign.
Tas Melis
Yeah, it's a good sign. That's. That's good.
Jake Skeets
We'll see. We'll see. Anything else on this one? All right, let's go to the other one. That was obviously sort of in the running for most surprising series in the Western Conference. It's the Minnesota Timberwolves up 3:1 on the Denver Nuggets and game four. Holy moly. It was the IO do sumo game. 43 points for this guy as the Wolves. The Wolves overcame injuries to their starting backcourt, Dante DiVincenzo. I mean, this is demoralizing, but out for the entire season, maybe next year or most of next year. With the torn achilles less than 90 seconds into the game. And then the Wolves lose Anthony Edwards to an impact knee injury late in the first half. He's ruled out. He's going to miss weeks here. You know, they are saying, but it's okay cuz IO Desuma comes through. This was crazy, him going for 43 as they beat the Nuggets in game four.
Tas Melis
He completely dominated. It reminded me of the super bad scene when they're trying to chase the kids, the cops are trying to chase the kids. Seth Rogen can't catch him.
Jake Skeets
He says, oh, it's the fastest kid alive.
Tas Melis
That's iota sumo. There's nobody that can stick with this guy on the Denver Nuggets. He's just getting downhill basically wherever he wants. He's making his three pointers when he has a look. It was pretty impressive to go into the second half knowing we don't have Ant, we don't have Dante DiVincenzo, but we got IO. Dsumu and Jaden McDaniels. That's all you need apparently right now for the Wolves, they understand how they want to play. They want to take as many layups as they possibly can. So they just put their head down and say, somebody stop us. And there is nobody that can stop them. On Denver, no.
Trey Kirby
Minnesota outclassed them out, worked them out. Athletic them, they show that how much more athletic they were. But in that third quarter and fourth quarter, defensively they're pushing out to mid court and how they were turning over the Nuggets over and over and over. Nine turnovers by the Nuggets in the second half. The Wolves simply outclass them top to bottom. Rudy Gobert included, everybody on the perimeter, Jaden McDaniels and I Odisumu, especially on the perimeter. And how they were able to just start running, you know, the Nuggets had injuries coming into this series and it would be helpful to have Peyton Watson out there being an athletic player because the Timberwolves just have way more athleticism. It's clear when I would assume it comes off the bench how good he has been in this series. Obviously a career game for him there.
Jake Skeets
Oh my God. You know, he's got such a funky looking release too. And he's a herky jerky sort of game mixed with the speed. Like it's a wild guy to get to 43 points, obviously never exploding for that many. The most points off the bench in any playoff game since 1976. Made 13 of 17 shots, 5 of 5 from deep, all 12 of his free throws as well. And like just picked up the scoring when they're starting back court went down. And like you said, I think once that happens, especially the ant injury, it's like, oh my God. Okay, wow, this might be, this might be handed to the Timberwolves here. You know, in theory, you're going, okay, well they're going to win this one. It's going to be two, two and then, oh, we're going to wait to see how long ants out. Oh, that's not a good sign, like. And instead they're going to get a couple chances here to try and close out Denver, who have come back from three one series deficits before.
Trey Kirby
Just watching them play offensively and how they're going at Jokic every single possession to score and IO Dasumu takes it up even a notch. As Trey said, you can see how fast he is in comparison to anybody on the back line for the Nuggets, especially with Aaron Gorn out as well. I mean, he, he looks like he's
Tas Melis
stuck in the mud. Yeah, I mean he's out there playing, but he doesn't look as athletic as he should.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And we talked about last year, you know, 12 months ago where Aaron Gordon was hanging on by a thread at the end of the playoff series in seven games that they lost to okc. Yeah, he just, he. The whole thing, it's a blow up. But Minnesota, all credit to them for outplaying them, especially with and going out and now unfortunately being out several weeks.
Jake Skeets
Do you have any hope that Denver can still win this? Especially with the injuries to the, to the Wolves back or can IO does he have another one of these in him or. You know, Mike Conley played well too.
Tas Melis
There a couple of former Bulls looking good for the Timberwolves last night.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, that's right. I mean, I guess what all we're getting at is can Denver just stop Minnesota no matter who's playing for them? Because the defense, as McDaniels pointed out, you know, they're weak defenders.
Tas Melis
Well, we haven't seen that at all yet. The Nuggets are allowing 57 points per game points in the paint wise that would be worse than the worst team in the league during the regular season. Denver should be well set up here for a 31 comeback. They're coming home. Minnesota is missing their starting backcourt. The catch is that Denver's looked good for like five quarters this series so far and it doesn't really feel like they can slow down the Timberwolves. I will say a lot of it was inattentiveness from the Nuggets. Like, you see that play right at the end of the second quarter, Bones Highland gets an inbounds off a made free throw, goes coast to coast for a lap that just shouldn't happen in the playoffs. That's the kind of thing that happens when you're up 30 and you're losing a game like the Lakers did last night, but just so many miscues and not connected defensively. I thought Jamal Murray played a pretty poor game on the defensive end. He was on the wrong side of a lot of these IO highlights, whether just getting blown by on straight line drives or completely losing track of them for wide open three pointers. So, you know, Jokic was more encouraging. I thought at least he started pretty hot in this game. But it feels like they're going to have to outscore the Timberwolves, and I don't know if they've got enough players for it right now.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, and like the, the Wolves are helped out because Rudy. And even when Randall and Nasrid get chances like they can, they're just playing Jokic one on one, right. You know, it's not sending multiple guys and then making him into this, you know, this passer. They're just like, we can play you one on one because Rudy's keeping you in check. Eight for 22. Jokic was in game four. He is still putting up insane numbers, like when you're looking at the box score. Averaging 25, 15 and 8 for the series. But the efficiency is in the dumps. 41% effective field goal for Jokic in this series, a 14% turnover rate. So Gobert has guarded him as, as well as a human can. I believe maybe the Robots can do better, but humans, Rudy's got it. And like, even Randall and Nasrid, like I said, I think have done okay.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, well, Nasrid chipped in offensively too. I thought he was really important on that end. They can score more points on the one team, so I don't feel like anyone should be confident about Denver bouncing back the way they've started these four games. They just haven't played well at all for any. Yeah, I mean, for a long stretch they have played a couple of good quarters, but beyond that, I, I feel like the Wolves mentality, their aura, Jaden McDaniels scoring that extra bucket right at the end when the game is over and Jokic having to come run over, I mean, that shows that one side is ready as far as their tude goes in comparison to the other side. It doesn't feel like a team that ended the season winning 12 straight games. It just doesn't feel like that. And it doesn't feel like they're just going to turn it around by any means.
Jake Skeets
Oh man, I I watched it so many times. McDaniels skying for that block on I guess it was Bruce Brown. That was a great block. Holy shit, was he high on that block. And they had that one awesome camera angle. So you like the Wolves chances to at least win one here? Three chances to do it.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Even without their starting back? Yeah. Yeah. I think they're they're Perimeter defenders are very important in taking away what Denver does better. Denver scores. But the way they're Jada McDaniels IO everybody makes it seem like they're not going to score enough points.
Jake Skeets
Oh, we've said it for years.
Tas Melis
Lengthen athleticism over the Nuggets. And the Nuggets like finesse game just isn't working because they're not making the shots that they do have when they're open. They're under 30% from three for the series, 40% from the field. Those are basically Jokic's numbers as well. He's not just able to set them up for as wide open of looks as they were getting during that 12 game win streak to end the regular season. But I mean you have to imagine at least Game 5. That's the season for Denver. They got to have their first good shooting game of the season. They're at home. Best chance to have it.

Jake Skeets
This game ended with the ejections of Jokic and Randle after Jokic became angry with Jaden McDaniels. Meaningless layup, I guess, late. The unwritten rule, right, of basketball, which we talk about every. I don't know, feels like a couple months here on no dunks. And that's Jokic was pissed and confronted him and needs to take obviously, that anger over into game five and try and extend the series here. But what'd you think of McDaniels scoring at the end there?
Trey Kirby
I think the funniest part is hearing Mike Conley talk about it afterwards. Because Mike Conley was the guy who passed it.
Jake Skeets
Jada McDaniels knew exactly he was doing.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, and he said I hung my head right away because I knew he was gonna go score. But at the same time he thought, well, maybe he's gonna pull back. Maybe. But who cares? I like Jada McDaniel's attitude throughout this whole series. He had that bucket talking trash, saying every Denver guy stinks on the defensive end. I like his attitude. So I was okay with it and I was okay with Jokic running up Julius Randall defending his.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, everybody was doing their part. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
As they build this rivalry.
Trey Kirby
I liked it.
Jake Skeets
I mean. Yeah. Do you. You have confidence at least the Nuggets can get us six back in Minnesota.
Tas Melis
I think so.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
It's going to have to be Jokic and Murray because we haven't seen a. A Cam Christian, Aaron. Cam Johnson, Christian Brown and Aaron Gordon haven't been able to help out. There's no return date for Peyton Watson again, who is important on this team athletically to match the Minnesota Timberwolves and to help defend because he's literally their best perimeter defender. No disrespect to Aaron Gordon, but that, that is changing. There's a passing of the torch here to a guy in Peyton Watson who coming into this off season I thought was going to be getting monster offers from other teams who would be able to overcome him being a restricted free agent. But now it stinks for him. But maybe they can keep it going one more game to see if Peyton Watson can come back too. They are going home, but I don't know if their starters can do it.
Jake Skeets
Well, they just. Yeah, they need Yoko Chimura not to go 6 for 24 in the second half. But the Wolves know like, and it's. We've called it before, the most unstoppable sort of play two man game between these guys over playoff runs. But the Wolves have sort of figured it out and have the personnel to try, at least try and slow it down. But we'll see. Let's hear from everybody in the comments if you think this at least goes to six if not longer. Or is there an upset brewing here or a comeback brewing because of the injuries, Unfortunate injuries. Both of them obviously bad.
Tas Melis
Oh yeah. I mean I flashback to April 28, 2012 6:28 Fleet Street Derrick Rose goes down with a non contact knee injury. I'm watching with J. Skeets and Paul Williamson. I'll never forget. So I was like, I'm never gonna forget this night. Anthony Edwards coming down with an injury, watching with my guy, Kush and Matt in the backyard.
Jake Skeets
Oh wow.
Tas Melis
Luckily he kind of dodged a bit of a Bullet. It seems just a bone bruise for Anthony Edwards with the gross. It looks so bad. It looked like you're like, oh, this can be a career altering kind of injury. So maybe he returns later on in the playoffs. But first and foremost for the Timberwolves is taking care of business. Also, apparently Nikola Jokic lost his underwear in the post game in the locker room. But he found him.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, he was so mad. He was so mad when they weren't available.
Tas Melis
Apparently the Timberwolves stole his undies.
Jake Skeets
Oh, if McDaniel stole his underwear would be incredible.
Trey Kirby
But apparently they were just hanging on the rod in his closet.
Jake Skeets
He didn't look okay.
Tas Melis
I was messing with the zombies.
Trey Kirby
It's weird. Weird that he didn't know where they were if they're just hanging there.
Jake Skeets
I mean, that's like, like next level. Sort of like Jordan used to like make up things about guys to like fire himself up, obviously get revenge. If like Jokic is now making up like Mike Conley came in here and stole my underwear just to get him all.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, you don't give the other team motivated.
Jake Skeets
I like it. I like this big game. I'm calling it Monster Monster game from Yoko Ch. Game 5. He's finally going to hit some threes. That's going to unlock things against Rudy Gobert who may have stole his underwear
Trey Kirby
and I guess from underwear backed on the court. I guess that's what Conley is thinking by not wanting to give it to Jaden McDaniels to score an extra bucket at the same time.
Jake Skeets
Who cares? I don't know.
Trey Kirby
Because that's a motivator for the Denver Nuggets. I don't think that's the motivator. I think the Nuggets got bigger problems than a guy scoring at the end of the game. Of course, yes, but. But Conley didn't like it.
Jake Skeets
Try and stop them from scoring the other 47min.
Tas Melis
Yeah, we'd like to see that hustle back for the rest of the game as well.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Yeah. All right. Let's go to the third most surprising series here in the West. The spurs leading the Blazers 3 1. Wemby comes back on Sunday, returns from concussion. Spurs beat the Blazers 1 1493. Though these last two games, spurs were down big.
Trey Kirby
Oh, yeah.
Jake Skeets
And came back both times. But Wemby, what a game in Game 4. 27 points, 11 rebounds, 7 blocks, 4 steals, 3 assists. That sounds like a whoa, boy right there in the return from concussion. Though after the game he indicated that the way his return to play was Handled was very disappointing to quote him, but emphasized that he was treated well by the spurs medical staff and he wouldn't then really elaborate on what he's saying about the very disappointing part. You can probably figure out probably what he's saying, but he didn't want it to be a distraction, which you're also like, maybe you made it more of a distraction. I don't know.
Trey Kirby
But wait till the off season is what he said.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, yeah. He's going to explain it all later on about.
Tas Melis
Yeah, I'm super hard to figure out what he's saying here. I was ready to play game three. They didn't let me. That's why we have rules.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Jake Skeets
That the NBA wouldn't let him for sure.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. But he wanted to go to his own independent doctor apparently to go oversee that and give him the approval. But the NBA said their doctor does not approve.
Jake Skeets
Right. Right. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
That's reasonable.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. That's why it's set up. Because team doctors, maybe your own personal doctors are more likely to say, yeah, go ahead, give it a go, man.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
And the league is trying to protect you from yourself or if not your team.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. I flashback to Kawhi and his dispute with the San Antonio Spurs. Non concussion related, but a very similar Hey, I want my doctor and the Spurs. Although it wasn't the spurs doctor in the quiet scenario, it was a Spurs doctor rather than an NBA doctor in this scenario. Either way, his mic got cut off yesterday as when we talked. That was strange. That was strange.
Jake Skeets
But he was awesome. And the spurs on Friday night came back in that game too. And that was led by Castle and Dylan Harper. And these guys are awesome. And then in game four, it's really Fox who was amazing. Like what a luxury. You got Wemby. Wemby generational talent. That's you're fine. But now they have like three guards. Like okay, we love Castle, Dylan Harper. Oh my God, as a rookie this guy looks like he's a future all NBA All Star type player. He may be the best of the bunch, but then you know in games where they don't have a going Harper, the Game three hero. Laying a bit of a dud there on the weekend game. Fox steps up and had his best game of the series with 28 points.
Tas Melis
Yeah, it's pretty cool that. But like the four main guys for the spurs have all had their own star turn so far. 28 and 7 last night for Fox, 11 for 17 from the field, like he just wasn't feeling any sort of defensive pressure In a complete flow state. So Wemby had a huge game one. It was Harper and Castle in game three, and then it was Fox in game four, which is basically all of them answering the questions like, yeah, this is our first time through the playoffs. You know, not the first time for Fox, but his second series and his first time with the Spurs. A lot of questions of are they young? Do they have enough experience? They're not experienced, but they're really, really good. This was just a good old fashioned tale of two halves because the second quarter Blazers were on fire. Went five of eight from three. The spurs could not generate any sort of offense. They were really struggling. When Wemby was sitting, I think they were -14 in the first half when Wemby was on the bench. And then in the third quarter, spurs played like one of the best quarters we've seen so far in the playoffs from any team. Had five blocks and three steals, hit four threes. They scored the first 13 of the second half and wiped out the lead just right away. And then it was just the onslaught continued for the rest of the game. Second chance points turning in to fast break points. When they're making plays defensively like this was the spurs completely tuned up? Looked kind of okcish the way they were able to raise their level on the defensive end, which then of course makes their offense even more deadly.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, that was a run of a championship team in that second half. And especially we all think, oh, Wemby had a great game, game in the second half. All he had was dunks, five dunks. When they turned it up, when they were down going into the locker room, he just came back and did what he was supposed to do. Lob after lob after lob after lob. He had five dunks in that second half while their defense went bananas to stop. Portland only shot 29 in the third quarter. 33% for the entire second half. And the Castle Wemby game. I love watching that two man game. Although this was Fox's best game in a San Antonio spurs uniform, period. He looked really, really good. The Castle Wemby connection is just, hey, throw it up there. Even on inbounds plays, Castle and Wemby have this connection. Just, just throw me the ball. And it works out very, very well. Every single time.
Tas Melis
It's pretty funny. It's like he realizes, wait a second, if the big guy's guarding me, there's a six and a six foot eight guy at the rim. I'll just throw it up literally every single time. And it works so many times with Wendy. These like, I'll try it with Luke Cornett.
Trey Kirby
Watch this.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, yeah, that's true. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
But that was a, that was a full on beat down to watch like Fox get back with a couple blocks.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. And Castle, I thought had a stretch in that game too. Just elite defensively.
Trey Kirby
Oh, so much. That's why I felt like a championship team when Darren Fox said after the game, quote, we have young, old, veteran team. Yeah. It's like they're a young team, but they play like a team that's could easily just win it right here.
Jake Skeets
And the recurring theme of the weekend in all these games was there was a little scuffle at the end. This one was Castle taking the ball after a bucket and I think he thought he got fouled on anyway, so like with a little authority took the ball and shoved it in Denny obvious chest. Then he didn't like that and throw it right at him. Yeah. And they did the old shoving match. So that was the fireworks in this one.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Castle hit him pretty hard before going up, so I felt right to give him a little chest bump with the ball.
Jake Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
Yeah, Valid, valid.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Everybody dealt with it perfectly fine to you. Okay. Okay, good. We did have some more points in our instigator draft. We didn't have any of these guys on our team here or anything like that. But we do have a nice little, little battle going. We're drafting. Okay. This year, I thought, you know, some points are being accumulated here from some of our guys and there's the list there. Yeah. Points for technicals and flagrants and stuff like that.
Trey Kirby
But yeah, I think my. I think my team leads if I'm not. Oh, no, you have two as well?
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Skeets, I've got a flagrant one and a tech for my man Isaiah Stewart. I thought I was going to get one from Shen goon with the DeAndre Ayton thing. That didn't happen. You've got a tech from Jalen Brown, attack from Dennis Schroeder.
Jake Skeets
Schroeder came through yesterday with a dumb one.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, it was great.
Tas Melis
That was good.
Trey Kirby
And Trey's got one point on the board with a L. Dort.
Jake Skeets
Right. Oh, geez.
Tas Melis
Rescinded, though.
Trey Kirby
Oh, that one was rescinded.
Jake Skeets
What do we do in that situation?
Tas Melis
I think it still counts because. Well, first and foremost because it's for my team, but also for a second and second most, getting a technical during the game can be instigatory. Yeah, right. Like it matters. The Flow of the game.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Okay.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, yeah, we'll count it.
Jake Skeets
Keep it.
Trey Kirby
It's totally fine. It's like similar to when Patrick Beverley was suspended after the playoffs for what he did. He threw that ball into the Indiana crowd point. And we counted the suspension. I think we.
Jake Skeets
Okay, so two, two, one. Right now in terms of the instigator draft points.
Trey Kirby
Great battle.
Jake Skeets
We're waiting for the big one, though, because, like, somebody gets the tossed or something like that. Or suspended.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. A big.
Jake Skeets
And you know what? We're getting to the point in some of these series where it's coming, probably it's more likely to. Yeah. Because sometimes, like, well, our season's done, so watch this. Shen Good. You know, maybe game five, frustrating point clock somebody. Oh, you're out of here. Big points for you. I'm just saying it's possible.
Trey Kirby
I thought I was in the lead considering a flagrant one was handed out. I thought a flagrant one was valued more than a Tech. That's what I'm. What I'm getting.
Jake Skeets
Maybe a scoring was wrong.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. We got to redo this scoring for next season.
Jake Skeets
We won't. We'll remember one day before us doing it again.
Tas Melis
Oh, here's what we did last.
Jake Skeets
You're gonna see that graphic again next.
Trey Kirby
Oh, no. Come on. I just remember remembered Patrick Beverly throwing a ball, playing catch with a fan in Indiana and getting suspended for that. That was so weird. Yeah.
Tas Melis
He's still got a suspension waiting if any team decides to take a chance on him because he's been out of the league since then.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. He didn't get suspended by his Israeli team that he went and played.
Jake Skeets
No, no. It doesn't transfer to that league.
Tas Melis
Also very funny in this game. Robert Williams caught an alley oop and Dave Pash called him the Lord of time.
Jake Skeets
Yes. Yes.
Tas Melis
He's Michael Flatley, the Renaissance fair.
Jake Skeets
Yes.
Tas Melis
Lord of Time.
Jake Skeets
That's incredible. All right. Our final series in the West. Obviously, the least surprising OKC up 3 0. They're going to try and close this out and get the brooms out and be a sweep here tonight. They play game four in Phoenix, but in game three, it was SGA scoring 42. They beat the Suns 121, 109 playoff career high for SGA with 42. Brilliant shooting performance. Like, he hit 15 of 18 shots on a variety of tough looks. And he was even showing some emotion there when he got the steal. And then he scored and thought. And he did get hit by Booker, but they didn't call the foul on that one. And he was fired up after the no call, screaming over at his own bench, I don't need it, I don't
Tas Melis
need it, I don't need it.
Jake Skeets
But yeah, man, what a game from him.
Trey Kirby
42 is playoff high.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Surprising.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Any thoughts on the Thunder Sutton series here, which, I mean, I think is
Tas Melis
over tonight, I would have to imagine. But you got to appreciate Shay Gilders Alexander, a potentially wobbly moment, I think for Oklahoma City here. Game three in Phoenix. Suns are going to be desperate for a win, right? Like, they got to throw everything at the wall to try and get back in this series. J Dub is out. You're thinking, oh, okay, this might be the best chance the Suns have to get a win in this series. And then the guy gets 42 points on 18 shots. And anytime they doubled him, it looked like he made the right pass. And he did get a little upset. But did he get sweaty? I don't know. It was pretty smooth from Shay Gilgis Alexander, you have couple in things going poorly with Jokic in his series. People are going to be talking about Shakel, just Alexander as the best player in the league by the time we're done with this series. Until he runs into Wemby in the comment.
Jake Skeets
Maybe. But that was like. If you watch that game, game three here where SGA was cooking, that was watching one of the NBA's greatest scorers enter a flow state. Because you're right, that was those, those baseline jumper, the pull up, like Colin Gillespie trying to guard him. I'm sorry, get. Get the fuck out of here. He was trying, he was trying. There was nothing that he was trying. Easy for sga. I think Dylan Brooks after the game is like, I'm playing them. Game four. Anybody draft Brooks? No, we didn't. Nobody drafted Brooks. Because you watch something's coming in game four here tonight as the. They try and stay alive and stave off elimination themselves. But amazing game. SGA said after the game too, regarding game three, quote, we knew coming into tonight we typically struggled with these games. Last year we went down big in Memphis in game three. We lost game three in the Denver series. We lost game three in the Minnesota series by 40. We lost game three to Indiana in the finals. We really wanted to come out here and put our best foot forward across the board. And they did that. And the sun's put up a fight again. They've looked. They've looked okay. I mean, it'd be nice if they had a full squad for the entirety of the series. They don't oh, yeah. Jalen Williams didn't play in this game for okc. AJ Mitchell sort of obviously stepped up and slid into his role, but they're just too good. And this is why everybody thought the series would be over in four or five, and it's going to be.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. I looked at last year's Thunder and Grizzly series and thought, okay, the Suns are going to get one because the Grizzlies almost got one. But great players will find a reason to motivate them wherever it lies. And in this case, it's a, hey, game three. We weren't good enough. And he was perfect. 42 points, the eight assists, and that run at the end of the second quarter was the perfection, the finding whoever was open, it was Jalen Williams. 3. It was Caruso on the baseline. And then it was that incredible shot that from behind the backboard, nearly hit the side of the backboard, but just so gently or so missed it by such a slim margin just to go in. They didn't even need any good effort from anybody else. Offensively, they didn't. They won. But they were so good. They won the minutes without Shea out there. They won them by two. And so everybody doing enough. You know, A.J. mitchell didn't have a great game jumping into Jalen Williams role in the starting lineup. Chet was all right, but then the bench came through. Caruso came through. Jared McCain. Oh, yeah, they got that guy at the fricking trade deadline, so they had enough guys. It was good to see Booker injured and then come back. They, they. They were a fighting team, and they're. They're fighting really hard, but they couldn't do it. One random note here, watching Shea play in that, you know, the white undershirt that he's got, there's a loose thread on it. It happens all the time. It's not like a standard, like Nike undershirt. I don't know what's going on there. They cut it. I'm interested. Yeah, Equipment manager for okc. Get on here. I'd love to talk about the undershirts,
Jake Skeets
I guess, the extracurricular activity in this Dort trip on Booker.
Tas Melis
Oh, yes, indeed.
Jake Skeets
Booker had things to say about that and people pointing it out. You know, anytime Dort is included in one of these plays, it's everybody's. It's a Pruder film and, like, trying to figure out whether he meant to or didn't or what's he doing there. And he. It's. It's Dort. So you got to be like, ah, he I don't know. Does he know? Yeah, probably. Yeah. You know, he put the leg out there, so. Classic tort stuff. Yeah, classic stuff stuff. But yeah, nothing called on that particular play, if I remember correctly. Just Booker pissed off. So. Yeah. You think this one's over tonight, T.K.
Tas Melis
i do.
Jake Skeets
You do indeed.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
I mean, look, the Suns will play as hard as they possibly can. They'll physical it up. I'm with you. Like maybe rest, Shay. Tonight.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
Dylan Brooks is gonna be on one.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
It could be the last game of the season. He's not leaving any flagrants on the table, Dylan.
Jake Skeets
Good point. The Thunder are gonna try and get up like big enough enough sort of early enough in the game and get SGA the hell out of there. We'll see. All right, we'll take a break and then we'll do the exact same thing in terms of ranking the most surprising Eastern Conference Series Support for the show

Question for you guys. What do you think the point spread is for tonight's Denver, Minnesota Game 5 in Denver?
Jake Skeets
Well, nuggets are the favorites. They gotta be. But how big? I mean, you're asking, so that means it's bigger than you. Probably eight and a half.
Trey Kirby
It's 11 and a half.
Cindy Crawford
Whoa.
Jake Skeets
Okay. I thought I was going big with. Ain't that okay.
Trey Kirby
Disrespectful to the Minnesota Timberwolves, but I guess that's what the line makers do. They make them good. Okay. Okay. See also favorite by 11 1/2 in Phoenix.
Jake Skeets
Okay, yeah, that makes a little bit more sense.
Trey Kirby
That makes sense. I'm taking Phoenix. That's too big.
Jake Skeets
Wow. Okay.
Trey Kirby
Too big. We'll see what happens. And Detroit is favored by two and a half in Orlando. Okay, that's basically a coin flip.
Jake Skeets
I mean, that's. It sort of feels like there's. Their season is on the line here.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
To have to tie it up. That's the only series that's only played three games or no, I guess Thunder.
Tas Melis
Thunder. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. I Was doing that math too because I needed to know how many games was we've played. So how many games I've watched in entirety so far? Got a 15 on one side, a 15 on the other.
Jake Skeets
Wow.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Good.
Tas Melis
Well done.
Trey Kirby
It's so fun.
Jake Skeets
So 33 games after tonight.
Trey Kirby
Three game. 33 games after tonight. That is correct.
Jake Skeets
You know, I haven't dropped a single 40 games in 40 nights yet. I just did.
Trey Kirby

Jake Skeets
Okay, we are ranking the most surprising east series. I actually threw this one out to our basketball group chat. The WhatsApp group chat said, hey, put these in order in the east. What's the most surprising number one. It's the Magic leading the number one seeded Pistons 21 right now. Big game for tonight. But the Magic In Game 3, they wasted a massive lead. They were up 17 points. Detroit took the lead late in the game, but the Pistons came through. Excuse me. The Magic came through with some timely shot making. I thought Franz Wagner hit a couple big ones. Throwing up the three on the face.
Tas Melis
Yes. The German celebration. I remember Isaac Bonga doing that over the summer.
Jake Skeets
That's right. And they beat them in the end. 113, 105 in game TK. Yeah. Your takeaways from this series and that game.
Tas Melis
Hey, where was this all season from the Orlando Magic. They look awesome now and like they have great synergy. I feel like between their three stars, 17 shots for Paolo Bonchero, 18 for Franz, 18 for Bane. Paolo and Franz had a combined 15 assists and only four turnovers. Bain was making his three pointers, Paolo was making his free throws, getting to the line. This is exactly the way they built the team. This is exactly what they wanted it to be. We got two great big forwards who are making plays for themselves, making plays for others. And Desmond Bain is hitting the open shots. When there's double teams, when plays break down, they're playing defense. This is the whole point of what the Magic were supposed to be. And then you're like, okay, if I can rewind my life all the way back to September, October. Yeah, I kind of would have thought. The Pistons and the Magic are well matched for each other. They've got similar strengths, they've got similar weaknesses. That's why this series has Been so close. It feels more like a 45 than it does a 1 versus 8. Because on the Pistons side, it's Cade. And who else can possibly help us? Tobias Harris is having an awesome series, scoring really well. It's just too much. Tobias, he's at 19 points per game. Cade's at 31 a game. Asar Thompson is at 12. But everybody else on the Pistons hasn't really showed up. Especially Jalen Duran, who's had three straight really poor games. He had three baskets in this one against the Magic, all of them dunks, zero out of creation. He's getting completely outplayed by Wendell Carter Jr. So I'm just impressed by the way the Magic feels like they wasted an entire regular season. Feels like they wasted game 83, but then game 84 started. They're like, it's go time.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, that's the funny part. Over the last two weeks, the Magic lost to the main Celtics, let's call them that, when they fell to eighth. Then they lost to the Sixers in the 7, 8 game. Then they somehow beat the Hornets, you know, the darling of the NBA. They crushed them to get the eight seed. And now they've beaten the Pistons twice in three games. Here tass in games one and then here in game three in weird fashion, no doubt dominating, giving it all back, but then coming through in the clutch. And you're right about Wendy Carter Jr. Has completely outplayed Jalen Duran. Like it's not even close. Like he's been like twice as good as him.
Trey Kirby
Yes, there's no doubt. Yeah, there's no doubt. Yeah, the Magic, they're a streaky bunch. You know, the last month or so season of the season, they did have a seven game winning streak, they did have a five game winning streak and then they fell off real quick. So we shall see if Detroit can recover. But they gotta recover now. And to watch a really good defensive team allow that many points early into the fourth quarter, they had allowed 96 points three minutes into the fourth. So yeah, they came back, but it was way too late. I thought coming into this series we'd get four good Cade games. And then while Cade was being good, essentially you would have enough depth alongside him to contribute a little bit every single game. Because I thought coming into the series it was 6 through 12, basically the bench you'd have somebody contribute, but that has not happened whatsoever. Kevin Herder has not been good. Dennis Jenkins, who we watched late in the season be really good, has not been good at all essentially. And it keeps going Down Carousel versus doesn't exist. I mean he's been really, really bad. Isaiah Stewart has been fine contributing, but Tronte and Green has been great. They pulled Ron Holland basically from the rotation. I thought in comparison to last year when they had Dennis Schroeder and Malik Beasley coming off the bench in that six game series against the New York Knicks who looked really, really good, I thought they could get all of that compiled together. But I'd rather those two guys in comparison to all of the rest of these guys who are playing right now, they're just not playing well enough to compensate for Tobias Harris and Duncan Robinson and a very bad Jalen Duran. And you know, SAR has been okay, but you know Tobias Harris has been up and down. The percentages are not good enough. And so he contributed in the fourth quarter of this game three to get him back. But that ain't enough. They need everybody to be playing better. So I don't know if that's. That somehow clicks out one game and then that streaky Magic team goes the other direction. But it just hasn't looked like the the Detroit business playing hard enough on the defensive end. They've played that really great second half in game two defensively. Otherwise they don't look like themselves. Yeah, the Jaylen Durant thing is a little spooky. Why? He hasn't been playing hard enough.
Jake Skeets
Guy averaged 2010 all season long.
Trey Kirby
I mean the first half there were some good transition plays where he was blocking shots and then he gets those alley oop dunks. But it's not steady. No, it's not steady.
Jake Skeets
Bane was awesome in game three. Gave the Magics offense a big jolt that they really needed. 25 points. Franchise playoff record tying seven three pointers for Bane in game one of this series. Bane was one of eight from deep game two to a seven. So for him to go like in this series between these two teams, it feels like you hit seven threes. That's like hitting. That's like hitting. They go games where they don't hit seven threes. So for one guy to do it, awesome. And that was a part of the Magic struggle offensively opening the series. And at times all season long somebody's got to hit some shots. And he came through in this. And then Wagner, like I said, he had that step back jumper late, the big deep above the break three where he put the three up on the face and then Paolo had a crazy three that iced the game, that hit the rim, went a million feet up in the air and then dropped down But I thought it was more. I thought I was a little bit more impressed with the frond shot making at the end. I saw Paolo getting some of the highlights there because of the crazy shot. It did ice the game. But those other two from Franz were massive.
Tas Melis
And Paolo hit a big three with like four minutes left off a pump fake at the top of the key as well. But I'm with you. Franz, like May won the game basically for the Magic. The pick and roll bucket the three. And then even on the last play, he gets to the rim. Draws a lot of help from Duran, which gives Wendell Carter Jr. The offensive rebound. Robbie Hummel said, in a game of men, that was a man's rebound.
Jake Skeets
That's right.
Tas Melis
And that was a man's rebound.
Jake Skeets
We love the rebound.
Tas Melis
Carter Jr. Yeah, he went one of two at the line, but at least he grabbed the board. And that's been a huge thing for the Magic. The Pistons are ninth in second chance points in the playoffs. Right now there's only 16 teams. They were fourth in the regular season out of 30. They're 10th in points in the paint allowed after being first in the regular season. So the Magic are beating them at their own game. And that's really disappointing for the Pistons. And I put it mostly on Jalen Durant. And if we're talking about rebounding and scoring in the paint, he's the guy.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
He's got to be able to stop it on one end and give it on the other end. And it's not happening either way.
Trey Kirby
No. Outplayed by Wendell Carter. Outplayed by the guy named Jalen on the other team. I think Suggs is just playing harder, more consistently. And the scary part is the Pistons scored the most points that they've scored all series in game number three. But they gave up way too many on the other side. Maybe there's a good game from somebody other than Cade on their side. Maybe. But the scary part is, well, it's
Jake Skeets
got to be Jalen Durd's got to at least be like 2010 sort of variety. Yeah. And then you're right. Tobias is fairly steady. But who's the other? Is it Duncan Robinson? Kevin Herder's been garbage in his minutes.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Jake Skeets
Jenkins is shooting like below 30% bench
Tas Melis
scoring in the playoffs.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. You know, Tobias is. I think he's like three of 16 from three point line.
Tas Melis
Can't make it three.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Tas Melis
Does everything else.
Trey Kirby
He's from the mid range from last year. Just looking, watching them play, you know, Dennis Schroeder Coming in. And Mikhail Bridges or Malik. Mikhail Bridges, Malik Beasley coming in. They were really good coming off the bench and supporting those guys. So they decided, all right, Dennis Schroeder, you're gone. Carousel Vert, you're going to fill that role. Carol, I was entirely wrong. I think Trey, you called it when they made that signing that he's not going to be that guy and he was not. He's making 14 million per season and. And he's barely been visible in. In this series. So there's the Dennis Jenkins. Maybe he can be that guy. Or the Kevin Herder who didn't play a lot of games, but seemingly fit in the. The Jaden Ivy role that was tr. He was traded for. But this. The puzzle pieces have not fit. Yeah. Wendell Carter, especially kicking Jalen Duran's ass is. That's a terrible sign.
Jake Skeets
It's the 13th time since 1984 that a number eight seed has taken a 2:1 lead in a first round series. Of the previous 12, only five finished off the upset. Miami in 23 versus the Bucks. Philadelphia in 2012 versus the Bulls with the Derrick Rose injury. Memphis in 2011 versus the Spurs. Golden State, the We Believe warriors in 2007 versus the Mavericks and the Knicks in 99 versus the Heat. That was a best of five. That list doesn't include Denver's upset of Seattle in 94, the first eight over one series win in NBA history because the Nuggets fell down.02 in that one. It wasn't a 2:1 situation. That's where it's a little bit different. So trying to, you know, the Magic trying to add their name to the short list here of, of eight seeds up to one to. To take care of business. But you know, Detroit wins this tonight in Orlando and now we're back to a best of three. And you would favor the team with two of the home games in their own barn and, and maybe unlock something. But somebody's got to help.
Trey Kirby
Just like we saw at the New York.
Jake Skeets
But you said like the, like, like it feels like they might need to go Raptors mode and just like we gotta get it. Gotta be a rock fight here because the offense is not really clicking. Nobody can hit a shot from three and we just win a. An ugly one.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, maybe, maybe. Or maybe you get a hot Danis Jenkins game. Cause it could happen. Paul Reed played some minutes. He scored. I don't know. There's. There's.
Tas Melis
I wouldn't mind seeing some more. Paul.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. B ball.
Trey Kirby
Paul.
Jake Skeets
A hot Danis Jenkins game. Would have to be Janice Dinkins.
Tas Melis
Right?
Jake Skeets
Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So if Dennis Jenkins has a hot game, then he's Janice. God, that's tough to say. Even when I'm like. I'm, like, computing it in my mind, I'm trying to say it right. Janice to Janice.
Tas Melis
Janice to Dan. You gotta be kidding me. You gotta be kidding me. I was trying to think of Janice Dickinson. Isn't she like, oh, yeah, she's the original supermodel. Is that.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, she was on America's. What was Tyra's show?
Tas Melis
America's Next Top Model.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, she was, I think, part of the original.
Tas Melis
She was the Simon Cowell, I feel like, of that show.
Jake Skeets
Exactly right.
Trey Kirby
Man. You're switching up the acronyms. That's okay. That's what great minds do.
Tas Melis
Wow. She famously coined the term supermodel to describe herself in 1979.
Jake Skeets
Wow.
Tas Melis
That's pretty bold.
Jake Skeets
She created the term supermodel. Until then, it was just model.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Tas Melis
She's like, but look at me.
Jake Skeets
I'm a supermodel. All right, the next series in the East, Surprising. We're going to go with the Raptors tying up their series versus the Cavaliers. It's 2 2. They won the Rock fight on Sunday, 93 to 89. The Raptors shot 32% in Game 4 and 1, the lowest field goal percentage by a winning team in an NBA postseason game since 1970. They shot 13.3% on three pointers, the lowest ever by a winning team. They hit four three pointers. They shot 4:30 from deep. And they just dragged Cleveland down into the mud and just suffocated them, baby. We're tied to two. And Raptors fans, suddenly we had a series here. A best of three, but, yeah, other takeaways from this one in this series. What a weird, weird game. I mean, it's ugly. A Raptors fan, of course. It's a pretty ugly.
Trey Kirby
Oh, yeah, right. Yeah. But shocking. I still can't believe they won because Brandon Ingram shot way more than he did in the first three games this year. 23 shots, by far and away his most shots. And he was only 6 of 23, so that's not very good. So considering that, I just thought that the Cavs would be able to score enough points now. I like what Darko Yakov Rakovic was doing for Brandon. Getting him enough space, starting him in the corners, getting him away from any sort of double teams. But again, 6 of 23 is very bad. But, yeah, the fight levels shown by the Toronto Raptors to shoot 32% to shoot 13%. Five more offensive rebounds, six more steals, six more deflections, six fewer turnovers, six more buckets in the paint. They scored 17 points off turnovers where the cast only had seven. When you see team rebounds you win 16 to eight. That's a great sign. You playing like a team just fighting because you're just ready to do it. And now they bothered Mitchell obviously. You know Yako Purdle had his game of the series. 10 points, 6 rebounds. How about that?
Tas Melis
Like back to back and ones.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Third quarter well no one expected 10 points and six rebounds from that guy and Mamu blocking him. But it came down to 21 seconds left. I thought Scotty Barnes affected Donovan Mitchell's miss down one pretty well that he was just on his right side. So Mitchell had to go to the left and just miss that shot. Otherwise we're talking about a different series of Mitchell's able to make that. So Scotty Barnes just dragging with him I thought was really, really.
Jake Skeets
And then Colin Murray Boyles playing Donovan Mitchell strong defensively out on the perimeter on that three point shot. You know didn't. Didn't obviously draw the foul himself. Stayed down, challenged it. Well yeah those two guys were monsters defensively.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
I mean until they won this game.
Trey Kirby
Mitchell to be 6 of 24. Those are Ingram like numbers to be that bad. Didn't feel like him at all. Well, James Harden too. Seven turnovers that one at the in the second half just giving the ball and then not hustling back. Those are. It's a James Harden moment. Being lazy. Very, very lazy. But yeah, the Jamal shed dive at the end. Barnes hitting six clutch free throws.
Tas Melis
40 seconds left. The shed play where he's like oh this is going to be a 8 second violation if I just make it tough to get it across because I mean he didn't really get the steal but it was a turnover anyways because of that. Then Mobley grabs three offensive rebounds in the last two minutes. Cleveland didn't score on any of them. That was crazy. A rock fight would be offended to
Jake Skeets
be called this game. Rocks would be offended.
Tas Melis
No, this is worse. This is a mud fight. It's a game of runs. But the biggest runs were like six zero.
Jake Skeets
Yeah well it's crazy like the fourth quarter was an offensive explosion. It was 33, 31 in the fourth. But this game was. Was 17 to 14 at the end of the first quarter. It was 38 to 36 at the half. Yeah, you know they only scored 44 combined points in the third quarter, which I guess was like a, you know, a hot quarter for those teams. Crazy. But credit to Darko for tweaking matchups in this series and obviously playing Colin Murray Boyles. More like it's worked out like, this is my favorite thing of the series. Whether the Raptors go on to lose in six or seven or win. Whatever I said at the start of the series, I just want Colin Murray Boyles thrown in here, man. And let's see what he's got. This guy is like a real piece for a good team moving forward. The answer is absolutely yes, I think. Is he perfect? No, but he's like, awesome guy as a fourth or fifth guy to give you a defensive identity. He's not afraid of this moment. He's putting up stats here in this postseason against a really talented front line in. Obviously, Mobley and Allen. Him and Barnes have outplayed them for a majority of this series, so happy to see that. And now it's best of three. So the way these two teams have been going, I don't know, man. They got a chance to at least maybe get this to a Game seven at the very least. Oh, yeah.
Tas Melis
Going to Toronto was pretty bad for Cleveland. The White Vegas flu might have gotten James Hart. Like, you're saying he had that turnover in the fourth quarter where he just threw the ball right to RJ Barrett, then was so lazy he couldn't even get over and foul him?
Trey Kirby
No.
Tas Melis
Tried for the take, followed. The rest are like, no, man. You barely touched him with a fingertip tip. This is the exact wrong thing to see from the Cavaliers. They're getting beat up on the glass and Harden's having, like, some playoff meltdown moments right here. You're like, oh, yeah, this is what people said was going to happen.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Tas Melis
And we're letting it happen. So I was impressed by the way Barnes and Barrett, I feel like, are exploiting the fact that they're just bigger and stronger right now. This is incredible that Jacoby Walters playing 25 minutes a game and cannot make a shot over 15 in games three and four. But it doesn't matter because the Cavs aren't scoring enough to get him off the court.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, that's exactly right. Hey, look, credit to the schedule makers, at least for Toronto fans, Putting this at 1:00pm Baby. Yeah, that helps in the, you know, the defense of James Harden being in Toronto for the early start. Little sleep, baby.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
And thank you to. I don't know. Where's he going? Brazzers.
Trey Kirby
Brazzers.
Jake Skeets
Not Brazzers. What's it called?
Trey Kirby
Brass Rail.
Jake Skeets
Brass Rail. That's it. Wow. He went online after Brass Rail, for all you know.
Tas Melis
Better Brass Rail, not Brass.
Trey Kirby
Better online access in a different country.
Tas Melis
Doesn't have the Internet. Remember they said that one time, like, sorry, he doesn't have the Internet. So he's not on browsers. He's at for your eyes only.
Trey Kirby
Maybe there's less.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, yeah. I'm drawing a blank on them.
Trey Kirby
Brazers does sound like Brass Rail, but maybe there's just no online pornography rules in Canada like you're saying. Yeah, maybe.
Jake Skeets
Sign in.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, exactly.
Jake Skeets
Age verification.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, that. That montage of his turnovers. I know we're mentioning the fourth one and how bad it looks, but the bad touch on the first few. He had seven overall. He just literally looked like the worst version of James Harden.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
For most of this.
Tas Melis
That never happens.
Trey Kirby
Never happens.
Tas Melis
Though apparently Brandon Ingram did get in trouble because they asked him before game three. They're like, how are you going to adjust to the early start time for game four? And he's like, like, it's all good. I'll just go to bed early. My girl gets so annoying that I have to go to bed early sometimes. Anyways. And then Glorill after game four was like, shut up.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Ouch.
Tas Melis
How dare you say that.
Trey Kirby
Was it after game four? Did she say it at halftime? Maybe I misread it. I thought. I thought she did. She talked to him in the middle of game four, and then he came out in the third quarter and had his best quarter. He had three shots, three immediate. She had three in a row on his six of 23 games. So maybe she is the reason they won't one, because like you said, a six zero run. It was, well, six straight points for him. That can be the difference.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
These ugly, ugly games.
Jake Skeets
I was watching this. I got family visiting here over the weekend. Had this one on and they were like, do they always miss this much in watching this game? It's like, no, it's not usually like this. I had to do that whole thing
Tas Melis
on the Raptors.
Jake Skeets
Exactly. It's not usually this bad. But, you know, again, we love it. I love it, man. That's how they're gonna have to win this series. We're being honest because they got a lot of gu struggling to score and shoot. So come through defensively. I mean, they need to go back and change some defensive votes. Player of the year. Wemby's going to win unanimously. That's fine. Barnes needs more. He is everywhere for them defensively. What did he finish? He didn't even, wasn't even top three nominee.
Tas Melis
He's not a top guy.
Jake Skeets
May have finished like fourth or fifth overall. I don't remember. Down the way down the ballot. He's so good.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. And as much as I ripped Ingram, he did hit three threes. That is a change in that, that he's pulling himself out. Darko's pulling him out to shoot threes. That's a change. You know, he only shot three in the first game or excuse me, one in the first game, three in the second game, two in the third game and then jumping up to four or seven in game four. It's a change and it worked to some degree. Thanks maybe to Glorilla. He. He had it going to some degree. 6of23 felt like his best game because
Jake Skeets
everybody giving credit to Shed timely realizing the clock on that backcourt violation. Eight second violation because he jumped in like you guys said and that was awesome. But who was the guy picking him up? Donovan Mitchell, making it tough to even get to that point. That was Scotty Barnes and he was like fighting through his screen right around half there. I think Harden was in the way there. I don't even know if it was a screen. He was just in the way. But anyway, Barnes got, you know, the first seven seconds of the violation and then Shed wisely jumped in. So I thought just an unbelievable defensive performance from, from Scotty, Colin, Murray, Boyles, the whole crew there. Oh yeah. 93.89. So we'll see if anybody can hit some shots here in game five.
Tas Melis
I couldn't believe they were able to make a 15 minute condensed highlights out of that game. Oh, every make.
Jake Skeets
Yes. Yeah, that's right. That's right. You saw them all. Yeah.

All right, let's go to what we have ranked third in the Eastern Conference in terms of surprises and it was close with the Raps Cavs, I think, but. But Hawks knicks tied at two games apiece. New York 1. Game 4 though. Carl Anthony Towns with the triple double, 20, 10 and 10. Nice clean triple double there. You love to see those numbers there as they beat the Hawks here in the fortress on the weekend game. Very entertaining Friday night game of course with Thursday night. Excuse me, but we're all tied up. TK your takeaways.
Tas Melis
Yeah, this was the kind of Carl Anthony Towns game that we were kind of looking forward to coming in to this series. Seemed like he was going to have an advantage over a Kongwu just from a size standpoint and I thought that's exactly how this played out like he was just getting downhill, doing his flailing drives. They were pretty effective to the point where the Hawks had to start double teaming him. And then Towns was doing a great job of finding cutters. It felt like it was OG Anunoby on a backdoor baseline cut every single time they would that the Hawks would try and bring to Towns up at the elbow or you know, a little extended past the top of the key. Wasn't familiar with his game, to be quite honest. To see Town setting the table. He was to be playing so intelligently in control, I thought from Towns as well. Like he only had two turnovers. I feel like when Towns is whipping the ball around, he'll throw some incredible passes, but also throwing into the third row quite regularly. That was not the case at all for Towns on Saturday against the Hawks. So he was great. OG has been great for the entire series. They were kind of the difference to me in this one.
Trey Kirby
One, yeah, Cat was huge. How he jumped from a guy you barely recognized. Played in his first stint of game three. I didn't even know he played. When he went to the bench. I just realized, oh yeah, he's on the floor. To watching him start game four, he looked like a totally different player. I mean he went an offensive rebound for his first basket, saw he had a match advantage against CJ McCollum, got it down low, scored, then he drove to the corner finding Brunson and then the assists started piling up as he was that pillar up top and everybody was running around him and he was finding those passes. Here comes OG Obi on a beautiful cut and then OG on a baseline. Him and OG have got that going on, especially because OG is just clicking. He's running, making the right cuts. Six assists from Cat to OG and Nobi in this game. So 10 overall. Started with three assists in that first quarter. As I'm talking about. Very different from the Game three that Cat was kind of there to start the game. He got things going. Mike Brown was clearly sending a message in between these games to Cat saying you need to start better. And it worked. And here we are, two, two.
Jake Skeets
I saw our buddy Jared, who's a die hard Hawks fan, talking about this series and he compared it to an old Hawks Celtics series where it went long. But in every Hawks win it was by one point. It was a huge shot at the end, it was close. And every victory in that series was a Celtics sort of blowout win. And that's sort of where we're sort of getting here with this series. It Feels like Knicks wins are going to be pretty comfortable. And then Hawks when if they can win some more. Here are the of the very close variety. And that's because of the talent disparity.
Trey Kirby
Right? That's got to be the Zaza Patchouli, baby. Game seven, that series.
Jake Skeets
That sounds right because there were crazy blowouts I do remember in that series and then it must have been the Hawks were pulling them out. But still, I love this point from Kelly Dwyer to who's always locked in check out on Hoops his newsletter. Jalen Johnson is being forced to score, not design because he would rather find others with a dish than pile up the Jason Tatum like numbers. That was KD talking about Jalen Johnson and I think there's a lot of truth to that the way they're playing them. He's averaging just 19 points per game and five assists per game in this series. And the shooting splits are not pretty. They're low for him with his unbelievable year. 42 from the floor, 29 from 3 and then 83 at the line. There has not been a lot of Jalen Johnson talk despite the series being tied and now a best of three. They've done a good job of keeping him in check and sort of making him feel uncomfortable. I think.
Tas Melis
Yeah, this is a learning experience for Jalen Johnson. His first time in the playoffs as the number one guy. As the top of the scouting report with the Knicks saying, we're going to make you do things you don't want to do. Going to be super physical with you and like you might have a matchup advantage over Josh Hart. Like theoretically he could shoot over the top of him, but like Kelly's saying, like you're saying, Skeets, he wants to play make as well. He wants to do everything. He doesn't want to just be a scorer. And they're saying, go be a scorer. We're going to have help and we're going to be super physical with you. So, you know, round one hasn't been perfect for Jalen Johnson, but they still got a chance. You know, they're best of three at this point right now. He should be able to have a good game at some point. CJ Seems pretty reliable. I would say Nikhil Alexander Walker is struggling kind of similarly, he hasn't really put his imprint on this series so far, but this could have easily been a sweep. You know, it's plus 25 in the points differential through four games and that's what the Hawks taken to by one point a piece. So Jared nailed It. I think.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. I think as the series goes on, to see Nikhil Alexander Walker at least shoot the three ball better. I mean, he basically took every shot. It was 10 of his 11 shots were threes in this game. He hit 5 of them. His best 3 point shooting game.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
And Jalen Johnson definitely is a feeler. He's a feeler, but he came through in the fourth quarter of game number three. I think he can come through when he needs to. So, yeah, this feels like a. I'm still. I would still take the Knicks, but it feels more like a 60, 40, 60, 47. We're going seven, baby.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. We might be playing a Zaza clip here for a series, too. Yeah. Trivia. Before we move to the final series, Cat became the fourth Knicks player to record a triple double in a playoff game. Can you tell me the other three?
Trey Kirby
And Josh. History.
Jake Skeets
Josh Hart, most recent. Yep. The other two are a bit of the older variety. One's a legend that we see all the time still. Thank God.
Tas Melis
We see him all the time. Walt Clyde Frazier.
Jake Skeets
That's correct. He's the first. And then the other one is like, let's be honest, we just don't have. We don't have kids name this anymore.
Tas Melis
We don't have kids named this.
Jake Skeets
No. Because it'd be tough to be a kid and have this Name.
Tas Melis
Name Dick McGuire.
Jake Skeets
Bingo.
Tas Melis
It's very true, man.
Jake Skeets
That was the last kid you met named Dick? Tell me.
Tas Melis
I don't think I have you. I don't think I've ever met a kid named Dick.
Jake Skeets
Right.
Tas Melis
You don't hear kids named Richard, even all that.
Jake Skeets
That's what I'm saying.
Tas Melis
That's pretty rare.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, that's what I thought it meant. When you're saying, hey, name me the last kid named Dick, he's got to be named Richard.
Jake Skeets
Wow. Sure.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. There's not a lot of Richards out there.
Jake Skeets
Not a lot.
Trey Kirby
No, no, no, no.
Jake Skeets
Walt, Dick and Josh. And now Cat is the all time. That's pretty crazy. Only.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Only four guys to ever do it. Triple double in a playoff game.
Tas Melis
I do think I've met a kid named Walter, though.
Jake Skeets
Oh, yeah.
Tas Melis
Like, you know, it's like, it could be a grandparent's name and now it's cycled around long enough that we would name a kid Walter, but Dick. No, no. Dick.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I think, yes.
Tas Melis
Walter.
Jake Skeets
Maybe Carl. I've met kids that are dicks.
Tas Melis
Oh, absolutely, absolutely.
Jake Skeets
Assholes. But yeah, not a straight up. Hi, I'm Dick. No, I would if I Met a kid that was being a dick and then, hey, what's your name, punk? He said, my name's dick. I was like, oh, all right. I'd almost be like, respect. So true. All right. Final series. Celtics lead their series 31 after getting the victory in game four yesterday, spoiling Embiid's return. I guess this is a big story here. Tas returning to action from the appendectomy, but they crushed the 76ers in game four. And this is one of those ones that I was saying, well, this one, this one's a wrap. I think Boston's taking this in five here.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, like, OKC knows how to adapt, I guess. In game threes. Now, that was their problem game. Boston's problem game is game two. And since, whoa, they look like a championship team in this game. Shooting from three, 24 of them. Them, 61% of their shots were three pointers in this game. And your guys, it was Jason Tatum hitting five threes. He looks like the best Jason Tatum we've seen, you know, since the championship. He looks really, really good. Along with Peyton Pritchard, who was, whoa, doing his thing.
Jake Skeets
Staring down Reggie Miller after every shot.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I mean, it was an effort thing, too. They grabbed 60 of the rebounds in this game. That's the highest rate of. Of any team in the playoffs game so far. 13 point on second chance points. And they're just putting Joel Embiid in every pick and roll. Yeah, over and over and over again. 37 ball screens that he was put in and yeah, they were smoking it. And he was settling for outside shots on the offensive end, and those weren't falling a lot of them. And so it's. It's not a lot of points compared to this Boston Celtics offense. They look like the best version of themselves right now. They look like a championship team.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Max Shulga hit a three pointer. Max Shulga. It's crazy to get a who in the playoffs, but that's how much the Celtics won by. There's a reason they came as the favorite in the Eastern Conference, and they've looked really good in three of four games, basically, except for that game when they're just like, all right, Sixers, let's see how many times you can hit a pull up jumper. The Sixers had a ton of them, and then they said, wait, let's. Let's stop giving them pull up jumpers every single time. Did you guys like the Far side? That comic back in the day? One of my favorites is there's two deer talking to each other. And the caption is bummer of a birthmark. How. And you look, and the guy's got, like, a target right in the middle of his fur. Yeah, that's Philadelphia 21. They saw that come out, and they're like, oh, that's who we're going at every single time, testing Embiid's laterals, and they just completely were not there. Like, if they got him moving side to side, it was going to be a layup or an open shot created for the Celtics. You talking about the offensive rebounds? I think a big part of that is that. And be Just can't move. Yeah, he can. He can be an effective offensive player because he's dictating the action. Though I do feel like that really threw Philadelphia out of their flow offensively. Like, Embiid getting way more touches than Maxi did kind of wasn't the right way to approach things with me.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Tas Melis
So he can be good on the offensive end, but he is. He's a birthmark.
Jake Skeets
The whole series came down to Friday night's game, too, for being honest, where it was close. And the Celtics came through in that victory to get the. To get the lead and then obviously add to it here in game three. You know what I mean? That, to me, was the series. When they pulled that one out, it sort of was wrapped. I was shocked to see him be play.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Like, to return to this game, just two plus weeks.
Jake Skeets
I almost felt bad for him, though. He's like, almost in a can't win situation. Like, he comes back in this one, we point out, like, holy crap, he's a defensive liability. Yeah, he started okay, but he didn't give him a whole lot. So you're like, you start to go like, well, the Sixers have been better off him not playing and more of a chance. But then you're like, well, the guy's trying to get out there, and he's trying to, like, play for his team after goddamn surgery. Appendicitis, like, not long ago, like you said, Taz. Like, oh, my God. Like, the poor guy. I mean, he's, like, literally trying to give it to his team into the city. And everybody's like, like, maybe don't give it, man.
Tas Melis
Yeah, don't give it. If you're gonna come back, score 50, 20, and 20 or nothing. It's kind of how it is. Like, I even heard Simmons talking with Zach on their podcast after this. Like, shouldn't they just kept him out and bring him back for Game 5?
Jake Skeets
Really?
Tas Melis
And even more like, high Stress situation and an elimination game. I don't know. But I'm, I'm kind of the, like, I don't know, like you want him back. He could be an advantage for him. But also the Celtics, like, got. Literally got an alley of Decada on the very first possession they had. They're like, oh, easy pickings.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. And I mean, look, Adam Bona and Drummond had played okay too. They had, right. They held up. I thought the two of them as the sort of the two man five and even looked okay in game three and all that, but. Yeah, it's just a tough position.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
As Joel Embiid is always unfortunately in it feels like when you get to the postseason.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Joe Missoula was lethal. He wasn't just going at him at the beginning of a possession saying, all right, here comes the screen to roll. They're running. Making sure he ran from one side to the other. Here comes the screen and roll.
Jake Skeets
That's what you should do.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Without him. And then. All right, let's get him involved where he has to cover a lot of space. They got him. They got him.
Jake Skeets
He played 34 minutes in the end dwelling. He did. Couldn't. The three wasn't fallen. I think he hit one. Will. So will he play in game five or do you like, you go like. Well, we gave her the go.
Tas Melis
Yeah, I guess. Freaking play him.
Jake Skeets
Okay. All right. So that's it. Those are all eight series.
Tas Melis
My last note was gonna be. I did not like. There was a lot of back and forth. It felt like between Peyton Pritchard and Reggie Miller. You know Reggie talking about the massive YouTube following that Peyton Pritchard had Pritchard hit the, like the one legged buzzer beater. Just foul him if he has the ball at the end of the quarters. But I did not like when they were showing a Pritchard highlight pack and Reggie said nothing but wetness. Gross.
Jake Skeets
Didn't like that call from Reg. Oh, no.
Tas Melis
Nothing but wetness.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Yeah, I did. Tirico called the Peyton Pritchard. End of the first shot. End of the first shot. End of the first quarter shot perfectly. It was like, is this coming? Is it coming again? Is it coming again? Yes, it's coming. That was. Was well done. Yeah. Hold on. Did you say Pin Pritchard has a YouTube following?
Tas Melis
Well, Reggie was talking about, like, how much young people like to see his, like, dribbling workouts because he's got. He's like, I got like crazy.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Tas Melis
Look at me in my garage.
Jake Skeets
Oh, yeah, right.
Tas Melis
My handles oh, so that stuff.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, that, that's, yeah, he's, he's known
Tas Melis
as a bucket for Internet creators for sure. And like I said, I think he's a dark horse guy to win an NBA one on one tournament.
Trey Kirby
It
Tas Melis
scores over seven footers regularly in the lane with his fadeaways and he's just got good footwork.
Jake Skeets
You knew this game was coming from him.
Tas Melis
Right.
Jake Skeets
You know he's always like explodes for one of these games. So this is his best playoff game ever, I think with 32.
Trey Kirby
So yeah, his previous high was 23 points. It's a pretty big jump. And the way they ended in tandem with Jason Tatum for game three and that was, that was those two hand in hand perfectly. And so Jaylen Brown hasn't even had to be, be super spectacular in this series because how these guys are stepping up as well as big shot Bob. That's what they're calling Baylor Scheireman. According to Jalen Brown. They're calling Baylor Scheiderman big shot Bob.
Jake Skeets
No, no, he's not. Not to us, he's not.
Trey Kirby
What's weird, unless I'm getting it wrong
Jake Skeets
from the Shireman, as I say it
Trey Kirby
every time I, I think, is that what they call him? It just doesn't how just because he hits shots and he's a white guy, he could be named Bob. I mean I just don't get it.
Jake Skeets
It. Call him Dick, please. And Reggie Miller, of course compared WNBA star Caitlyn Clark's playing style and, and, and game to one Peyton Pritchard. And that made some headlines there.
Tas Melis
Yeah, it seemed like an insult, but now like you see how much Reggie loves Peyton Pritchard. It could have been the ultimate compliment.
Jake Skeets
It really was. But she didn't think it was a compliment. Remember Caitlyn Clark's like reaction to it?
Trey Kirby
What Worst of the week nominee.
Jake Skeets
That's right. That's right. Okay, so those are the eight series. Like I said, I feel sort of like four are dunzo. Boston, Philadelphia. That's a wrap. Thunder of course are either sweeping or winning in five against the Suns. The Lakers have a whole bunch of chances here to close that one out. The Rockets though, I don't know. Blazers, good fight. Think spurs are taking care of business there. And then what does that leave? I guess it leaves like, I don't really include the Minnesota Denver one even though it's 3:1.
Tas Melis
Makes it interesting for sure.
Jake Skeets
Makes it a little more interesting and I mean a huge one tonight is obviously what happens in Orlando. I don't Love the chances for the Detroit Pistons to win three straight games against a defensive minded Orlando team. So I feel like I got to get that one tonight. Fun stuff. It's been entertaining. A little more entertaining than maybe we thought some of these first round series were going to go, right?
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Lil bite of the night sponsored by Randy Douglas. Randy is the head coffee roaster at Pollyanna Coffee Roasting in Lamont, Illinois. Trey Kirby. Do you know Lamont?
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah, I got married in Lamont.
Jake Skeets
You got married in Lamont?
Tas Melis
No. Oh, no, I lied to you.
Jake Skeets
Oh.
Tas Melis
I got married in Burr Ridge and I had the reception in Lamont.
Jake Skeets
Oh, they're very close.
Tas Melis
Yeah, they're close. Well, they could have been closer. It was a stormy, icy day.
Jake Skeets
Oh, yeah, you're a winter.
Tas Melis
2008. But we all made it safely.
Jake Skeets
How far are we talking? 20, 30 minutes?
Tas Melis
Yeah, probably 20 minutes on a party bus, bro. We're popping coffees from Pollyanna Coffee.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, we gotta stay up late, we
Tas Melis
gotta dance, we gotta sing that's Amore
Jake Skeets
stuck up on energy.
Tas Melis
Pour me one.
Trey Kirby
Randy's yelling, he can send you some. He let us know. He's like, feel free to ask for some coffee so you can, you can send them on.
Tas Melis
I'd love to suck his beans.
Jake Skeets
How many.
Public Investing Announcer
Oh, Jesus.
Jake Skeets
How many no Dunks fans do we have in the coffee game is what
Trey Kirby
I want to know.
Jake Skeets
Question. There was so many.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jake Skeets
It feels like it's at least five or six that people have offered. Like, hey, I'll send you some beans.
Trey Kirby
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Hey, you know, like I have this coffee shop, whatever in Australia.
Trey Kirby
A little. Well, yeah, he was the Australian in California.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Oh, yeah, yeah. A little ripper.
Tas Melis
Little ripper.
Trey Kirby
Such a good name.
Jake Skeets
But then there was. You guys went on a broad sheet.
Tas Melis
Is that what it was called in in Boston? Marty.
Trey Kirby
Marty. Yep. See, those are good coffees.
Jake Skeets
So anyway, back to Randy here. He's been listening to us daily since the early starters days. It's his everyday coffee roasting entertainment. He's roasting beans, listening to hot takes from us on the website I sent you. We offer coffee bean subscriptions as well as ship bags direct to home and coffee education at our tap room locations. Oh, man, we're gonna get that link in the show notes. It's already there already, Randy, thanks to you and Pollyanna Coffee roasting in Lamont, Illinois. Love it. And he's the head coffee roast roaster. That means there's junior coffee roasters in my mind.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, yeah, probably.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Well, whoa. Boy goes to Wemby. It's the Wemby boy of the night. This line is unreal. 27 points, 12 boards, three assists, four steals, seven blocks. This guy was one steal and two assists away from a playoff. Five by five in 34 minutes after returning from a concussion that he was all pissed off that he had to miss a game from. And look at. Yeah, he was. He was in his head there. Let's go in. Professor X style meditating.
Tas Melis
I think he's using.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. J.D. help me out.
Tas Melis
When I said propeller kinesis, is that what you would say he has?
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Telekinesis for sure.
Jake Skeets
Is that. What is that? Did I get it right, though? Professor X does that sort of like 100%. Yeah, that. Okay, good. It's more than telekinesis, though. What do you mean?
Tas Melis
Sure.
Trey Kirby
Well, he's got psychic abilities in general. Like he can get in your head,
Jake Skeets
make you do stuff. He can. That's creepy.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Oh, that's why Magneto would wear the.
Trey Kirby
That's exactly.
Jake Skeets
Metal helmet. Keep the shock waves out.
Tas Melis
Had to.
Trey Kirby
That's right.
Jake Skeets
Or something. Cool. So is he arguably one of the most powerful.
Trey Kirby
He's one of the most powerful. Mutants. Mutants. Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Well, we'll see.
Trey Kirby
You know, this. There's a whole new universe opening up.
Jake Skeets
Really.
Trey Kirby
We got X Men coming into the mcu. All very exciting.
Jake Skeets
God.
Tas Melis
Slow. Playing it.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Is that why we. Well, no, no. I was gonna say, is that why we saw Wolverine in Deadpool? But that's.
Trey Kirby
I mean, kind. Kind of.
Jake Skeets
Okay. Okay.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Jake Skeets
Cool. Cool.
Trey Kirby
You don't mean that.
Jake Skeets
Well, no. Is he. Does he still get handicapped parking?
Trey Kirby
Who's that?
Jake Skeets
Professor X. Oh, yes, of course. He's always in a wheelchair. He'll never walk.
Tas Melis
Well, he can't walk.
Jake Skeets
Oh.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. So, you know, if you can't walk, you should park in the handicap.
Jake Skeets
That's what I'm saying. That's why. I mean, that's a nice perk, I'm saying, for him.
Tas Melis
Just like a kid named Dick. I can't think of a time of Professor X driving a car around.
Trey Kirby
Literally never.
Tas Melis
He's always in there.
Jake Skeets
It's just so unfortunate, because he gets the best parking spots. That's true.
Tas Melis
Professor X takes.
Jake Skeets
I might park in one of the blue spots and say, don't worry, he's never coming. So there'll be.
Trey Kirby
I think you should. Maybe one day. Maybe one day he can start driving. Why not? There's cars.
Jake Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
They're capable of the driver driving without foot to pedal contact.
Jake Skeets
Well, it's so funny you said this. I. Like I said, I have. My mom's here, my aunt's here visiting from Canada. I've showed them tons of things already. We've been places. We're going to the Jimmy Carter Library later today.
Trey Kirby
All right.
Jake Skeets
The. The number one thing here in Atlanta that they've been most impressed by or just astonished by or excited by. Wayo. Yeah, there's a wayo. There's what? The only times I've had to try and speed up to a wayo so we could get a photo of nobody sitting in a car. That's amazing. I have seen, I guess, like, maybe because I'm driving them around everywhere and I'm going different routes and I'm in parts of the city that I don't normally go to. I. There are. It turns out there are a lot of waymos here in Atlanta, man. There are. I'm seeing tons. You gotta get to get them in one. Get them in a Waymo. Yeah, why not? They're terrified. I will say we were over by our old place where we used to live. Tight streets, right? Tight cars parked down both sides.
Tas Melis
Okay.
Jake Skeets
And I'm thinking this was the one thing I was like, what's this way more. Because, you know, you come to a street where it's really tight and let's say. But it's a two way street. So, like, you're coming one way and I'm coming the other way. As a driver, we're obviously gonna have some sort of song and dance where I'm gonna be like, hey, man, you come or I'll go. But I'm thinking, what's the waymo gonna do? What's the waymo gonna do? How are we gonna.
Tas Melis
What's the waymo gonna do?
Jake Skeets
I'll tell you what, the Waymo's gonna do the Waymo. Because those cameras, it's gonna go that far from those parked cars. It was wild to watch. This thing was going like, just like this. It was like. It was exciting. I was behind it. I was behind.
Tas Melis
Okay, yeah, sure.
Jake Skeets
So I was. Because I want to see. Wow. And there was a guy coming. I'm like, well, here we go. And they both went like. They basically were like that far away. It was amazing.
Trey Kirby
Waymos are cool.
Jake Skeets
But now I'm starting to think maybe it's just Professor X driving all these ways. That's what he's about. That's all he's doing in that room. He's not mutant. He's just driving everywhere.
Trey Kirby
That is within the realm of his powers. He could.
Jake Skeets
He could drive a car.
Trey Kirby
He could drive a fleet of Waymos with his mind. Is he in the Philippines? Everybody in the Philippines are controlling.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're great drivers. Apparently in the Philippines because. Wow. This is impressive driving.
Public Investing Announcer
I saw.
Jake Skeets
Okay, that's a great way to wrap it up.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Let's go check out Jimmy Carter and the museum. You've been right?
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah. I've been a lot.
Jake Skeets
Heard there's a replica Oval Office.
Tas Melis
There is.
Jake Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
There is indeed.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. Yeah. I don't.
Tas Melis
I don't think there's a replica peanut farm, but there is some information on it.
Jake Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
Peanuts forever.
Jake Skeets
Are we gonna enjoy this? Like, it's. It's fine. I'm. I'm not gonna.
Tas Melis
It's gonna be the number one thing your mom likes from her trip to Atlanta. It's hard to knock Waymo's,
Trey Kirby
but I
Tas Melis
like this way Mo than.
Jake Skeets
I don't know. I definitely. When I fill out the suggestion box at the end of the Jimmy Carter Museum, I say, could have used more Wayos.
Tas Melis
Now, there's good artworks and stuff. One time, I caught a frog that was in his fountains out front. Yeah.
Jake Skeets
Well, the gardens are beautiful.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah, the gardens are beautiful.
Jake Skeets
Now, of course, we've already been to the botanical gardens, so. Already checked that off. Y. So we'll be comparing. So I. But I hope to be back with you guys here tomorrow. Three games on tonight, two game fours, one game five. Wolves. Nuggets are gonna try and close out that series. Thunder obviously gonna try and sweep the Suns, and we'll see what happens. Pistons, Magic. But we'll be back to talk about it all. There's more awards this week, too, right? Whole other batch of awards being handed out.
Tas Melis
No, we don't have MVP yet. That's another one.
Jake Skeets
No, we don't have Rook six, man.
Tas Melis
We did six, man.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, we did. Mip.
Tas Melis
We did mip. Didn't talk about it. Back to back. Most improved players for the Atlanta Hawks.
Jake Skeets
Interesting.
Tas Melis
Interesting.
Jake Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
Not since the LA Dodgers were winning Rookie of the Year, every single year has there been a repeat like this.
Jake Skeets
Wow.
Tas Melis
A dynasty. Remember Todd Hollingsworth?
Trey Kirby
Of course. What a great name.
Tas Melis
Remember Eric Caros?
Trey Kirby
Todd is also a name that you don't hear that much anymore.
Tas Melis
Baby Todd.
Jake Skeets
Baby Todd's Baby Todd. I know a lot of man Todd,
Trey Kirby
so, yeah, there's a gap.
Tas Melis
A lot of man Eric Carroll.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, he's great.
Tas Melis
Hideo Nomo.
Jake Skeets
You guys are just naming right now Dodger Rookie of the Year winners Okay, okay.
Trey Kirby
No mo.
Jake Skeets
Waymo.
Trey Kirby
There's a pun there somewhere.
Jake Skeets
Clipper bros. You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
Tas Melis
Awesome.
Trey Kirby
Thanks for joining us. And remember, here in Georgia, they call it the Peach State, but the number one thing that Georgia exports. Peanuts, I think. I'm pretty sure. Thanks to Jimmy Carter and his farm.
Jake Skeets
Thank you, Jim.
Trey Kirby
A lot of peanuts. When you walk into the Jimmy Carter, is there a bowl of peanuts? You just.
Jake Skeets
Oh, there's shelves everywhere. Like a baseball stadium. Awesome.
Trey Kirby
They gotta do this.
Jake Skeets
Yeah. You'd be happy to know that I had some peanuts at the Braves game on Saturday night.
Trey Kirby
Oh, yeah? Yeah.
Tas Melis
Throw them on the ground.
Jake Skeets
Yeah, but my mom wouldn't.
Trey Kirby
Oh, wow.
Jake Skeets
Putting them in, like, a little. Like, we had hot dogs, too. And she kept putting them. Yeah. In the thing.
Public Investing Announcer
Thing.
Jake Skeets
And I was like, chuck them on the ground. I mean, I'm throwing everywhere. Throw them on the ground, Mom.
Tas Melis
Not the full American experience. Like, we're going to a baseball game. We're getting peanuts and hot dogs.
Jake Skeets
That's right.
Tas Melis
Great. Now you're taking her to see a presidential library.
Jake Skeets
Damn right, man. We're doing it all.
Tas Melis
Immigration's on.
Jake Skeets
That's right. We'll see you guys tomorrow morning at 10am Eastern. Till then, praise the day.

We can't wait to meet you. Store hours vary by location. Okay. Laundry stinks. Literally. I mean, you could just keep buying new underwear. Not that I've ever done that. Or maybe sort your clothes into piles based on how re. Wearable or filthy they are. Or just use arm and hammer. Deep clean. It's made for real life. Stinks and stains. So even if you don't do laundry, the quote right way deep clean will knock it out. I mean, it is from the number one liquid detergent brand that tackles more loads than any other. Come clean with arm and hammer. Deep clean. Number one claim based on total wash loads.
