Tas Millis
We going to game seven, baby.
Jay Skeets
Game seven. Game seven. That's right. We got at least one Game seven after the Sixers led by Tyrese Maxey. Good game from Paul George. Joel Embiid as well. They get the Game 6 win and they force Game 7 versus the Boston Celtics in a 27 matchup.
Tas Millis
Respect.
Jay Skeets
Wasn't long ago that we thought the influence was a wrap when The Boston went up 3:1. But here we go. They win the last two and we have a game seven. Let's break it down. Takeaways from a very strong game six performance from Philly.
T.R. Mayo
Where to start?
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Tyrese Maxey, the stirrer of the drink. Yeah, I think he's got to be the man. 30 points last night. Five assists as well. He's just able to do everything against this Celtics team. He's such a tough player for them to guard because they love the deep drop. So when he's handling the ball with Embiid, the pull up jumper is going to be there. But when Embiid has the ball and maybe he draws a double team max, he's a really good off ball player. He can just space to the corner. You got to worry about him as a three point shooter. That gives Paul George a little bit more room to operate as well. The quick guards can give the Celtics problems. They don't have like a necess, like a, like a speedster, I don't think. Definitely not on Maxi's level. And the guy just goes, goes, goes, goes, goes. He's got tricky finishes inside. He's got pull up threes. He's got catch and shoot threes. He's got a floater in the mid range. He was driving for the Sixers. I thought last night you throw it in the Embiid factor. He really gives the Celtics center some problems. I think they're finding out that the kata vuch Garza platter isn't as appetizing during the postseason and playoff p has showed up and played awesome in this series. He outplayed two all NBA guys in Jason Tatum and Jaylen Brown last night. So crazy that the Sixers have been able to flip this. Bringing Embiid back and having him look terrible in that game for apparently the smartest thing they could have done. Get all the rust off you right now. We're going to go forward with a team. They seem to have all of the momentum here.
Tas Millis
Right.
T.R. Mayo
And they seem to understand the way they want to attack the Celtics more than the Celtics understand how they want to attack the Sixers.
Tas Millis
And the Sixers defense really stood out to me. Paul George was so good, I was calling him Pauly D in this one because across the board, every single player on there, especially the wings, going from sideline to sideline, covering everything, whether it was Kelly Oubre doing a really good job on Jaylen Brown or VJ Edgecomb coming to chip in, or Paul George or Justin Edwards off the bench, I thought they were just so good. And so Tyrese Maxey, when he was lined up even. Even his size, I think everybody was covering so much space, and he didn't have to go out and do everything offensively because how much Everybody contributed offensively. A five starter scoring 14 points. I don't think he wasted a lot of energy on. On the offensive end where he was trying new things as well. I know Nick Nurse was getting him to either either flip that screen for him or just go away for the screen. So he wasn't just dropping into a deep three. He was feeling it out. But I thought the defense doing so well behind him got him going just everywhere, everywhere. So I didn't know where to start in this game. I just thought that that effort. They look like, as you said, they've got the momentum going to Game seven. I wouldn't be surprised if they could do it in Boston.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, maybe. They seem to have found a formula for success against them, like you guys are going through here. More shots, fewer turnovers, take care of the glass. That's a huge part. I think the Celtics had one offensive rebound through the first half of this game. That's huge. And they're just doing a tremendous job. Philly is, as you guys are noting here on the Jays on Tatum and Brown, you know, the. In isolation, doing a great job and nurses plan of forcing them inside as much as possible and take away all the shooters or stay attached to the shooters, at least out there, as much as you can to reduce how many they get up. And obviously don't give them clean looks here like the numbers are pretty wild when it comes to the three games Boston has won, they shoot well from three in the three games they've lost. Now they're shooting under 30% from three. There's been a trend from Missoula Ball in the postseason. It really has. When they shoot above 40% from 3, they basically win. And when they don't and they struggle, it's more of like a 50, 50 club, if not obviously worse when they're
Tas Millis
like sub 30% and they're reducing the number of threes. Big part of it that the Celtics are sh.
Jay Skeets
That's the formula. It's working right now.
Tas Millis
Get him off the line.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, every Celtics loss definitely feels the same. It's like, yeah, if you make shots, you're probably going to win. But I credit the Sixers a lot and I think Embiid is a huge factor here. Like, it's a no fly zone inside right now for the Celtics. They're not getting layups either. So the defenders on the perimeter are able to stay attached to Tatum, to Brown, to Pritchard, to White. They're not getting as good a looks as they got during the regular season as they got during the first half of this series as well. And like, that's kind of an indictment, I think on the Celtics, just get Embiid moving, get him moving side to side, like involve him in more and more actions. Maybe they don't want to do that because then it's like, okay, we're putting Keita or Vuch into the play when we could have other guys handling the ball. But they got to get that guy moving because he's not good side to side, but he's humongous. He takes up a ton of space inside. So Celtics aren't able to score in the interior and it leads to kind of one on one chucking on the outside. And you got to give credit to all of the wing defenders for the Sixers, like Kelly Oubre, I think, has been really, really great, especially last night. He's got two face hair, red on one side, black on the other. He is a two faced player, but when he's good, he's pretty good. Yeah, the defense on Jaylen Brown was solid. Like Jaylen Brown. He's got a little bit of length on Jaylen Brown and he's got enough strength that Brown can't like bump him off and shoot over the top. I think Brown's kind of just struggling from the mid range as well, but Kelly's making it tough.
Tas Millis
Yeah, I don't know if this is something to worry about on the Celtics side, but Jalen Brow doesn't feel like he's getting the shots that he wants. He said quote after game, I think we're playing into their hands a little bit. I definitely think even myself, the type of shots, the type of things they want us to do, that's not what we've been doing all year. I, I, I don't know if that's the case, really. It's him not getting to his spots. Kelly Bray doing a really good job. Even when Tyrese Maxey, a matchup that Jalen Brown clearly wants, he was doing a good job of bodying him as much as possible to push him out as much as possible. So they're doing a great job of everything and reducing, yeah, the three point shots, the rebound, grabbing more than half the rebounds. They've done that for two games in a row as they've won both games and reducing the number of threes that the Celtics are taking in general just because their defense is flying around. In game five, it was just 44% of their shots were coming from three. Went up a little bit in game six, but well under 50% in game four when they were splashing, it was 61%. So that's. It's a credit to all their guys. All their guys contributing everywhere. Like Embiid said after the game, they got great players. We all got to contribute, basically saying, you know, anointing Tatum and Brown and so Embiid was working his ass off defensively, and I thought it was different for him at the beginning of the game. Offensively, they just weren't going to him. And I think that proved to be a good sign. I think they should go to Keita more on for the Celtics to try and get some fouls.
T.R. Mayo
Every time that Embiid touches the ball is the problem.
Tas Millis
Yeah, yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Foul festival.
Tas Millis
Yeah, but get some dunks for him. I, I would say, but either way to get him be moving as much as possible, because that's what I expected in this game, to see him move laterally more and more. But he did his. He. He did his job.
Jay Skeets
There's no doubt Kelly O' Brie Jr. Probably involved in the play of the game too, when he had the block on Jalen Brown. And then I guess it was Maxi scooped it up, threw it to Paul George, who in one clean motion threw the behind the back dime to VJ Edgecomb for the dunk. And the place was going nuts.
T.R. Mayo
I guess it was after Embiid found it behind the backgrave behind the back as well. The Showtime Sixers came out.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, back to back possessions immediately after that. So what a stretch there. And that got the lead up to 15 after the VJ dunk. And then they held on. I mean, it got. It got a little dicey for a second when Missoula sort of waved the white flag pretty early in the fourth quarter. They're down big and goes to the bench unit. And they ripped off like a 100110 run. Suddenly it's like it's a game again. But Philly sort of obviously took control in the end and force a game seven. Paul George, just back to him. Huge game six. He did look the part of a max player that they gave him that $200 million deal. You start to wonder if the 25 game suspension for flunking the drug test was the best thing to ever happen to Paul George and the Sixers this year.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, easily.
Jay Skeets
It's wild to think, yeah, he got
T.R. Mayo
to take the drugs for like two thirds of the season and then he got to rest for the last third of the season. It's perfect.
Jay Skeets
And he was huge. Eight of 17, five threes, and he's 19 of 35 from beyond the arc here over this last little stretch. So on fire there. And at times has definitely outplayed or at least played to the same abilities of your all Stars. All NBA guys. Like you said. Trey in Tater Brown, you're getting this from PG right now.
Tas Millis
Yeah, everywhere. Beyond the arc, too. Doing a good job of using that slide step. When they come at him and they close out on him to get to the corners. He is peak Paul right now.
T.R. Mayo
I mean, yeah, Playoff Pete dead.
Tas Millis
Yeah, they keep on going to the playoff Pete. I mean, they keep saying it on the broadcast. Number one. He's not a number one guy anymore.
Jay Skeets
Right.
Tas Millis
I kind of find it a little. A little bit of a stretch.
T.R. Mayo
That was playoff P last night.
Tas Millis
She was damn good.
T.R. Mayo
It was awesome.
Tas Millis
He was on both sides, man.
Jay Skeets
What else from this one and this? Obviously, game seven on the weekend, I guess. Saturday night they go game seven in Boston. Now you sort of like maybe got us here, TK because you're like, oh, boy, this would be classic Sixers. You know, either they lose game six after fighting back, which they don't. And Maxi backed up his talk. Remember I said this guy, he really wanted to win one for the Philly crowd there. And they. They got the chance going again, sort of the sarcastic, you know, we want Boston chance. But then you're like, well, if they win game six, what would be the worst thing for the Sixers? Well, just to get blown out into Game 7 in Boston. Still in play, of course.
T.R. Mayo
Certainly possible.
Jay Skeets
But they're playing so much better than they had at the start of the series.
T.R. Mayo
They've got all the momentum. Like I said earlier, there's, I guess like a minor question about Jayson Tatum. He got pulled with four minutes left in the third quarter. Game got out of hand. All the starters were pulled, so he never came back. But apparently he's dealing with a left calf something or another. Some sort of tightness, some sort of stiffness. Would you rather your calf be stiff or tight?
Tas Millis
Wow. Stiff. I think I feel, mentally, I feel like I could loosen that up. Yeah, I sort of agree type tight. Sounds like more. More of the calf strains that are going around the league. Yeah, like they could last for a while.
Jay Skeets
I think he's playing and by all accounts, the stuff they were saying after the game is like.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, he was downplaying it for sure.
Tas Millis
This is non Achilles leg if that
T.R. Mayo
means non Achilles leg. I mean, you gotta look at the way the Sixers got, I think six points from their bench last night. Their guys could maybe go 48 minutes. And I'm also questioning a lot of the bench guys for the Celtics at this point. Like, we probably don't need to see Vuch again.
Jay Skeets
Oh, man. I mean, Maxi will be upset because every time he sees Vucci. Oh, that's a bucket.
T.R. Mayo
But they don't have good options. It doesn't feel like right now. So it definitely feels like a toss up to me.
Tas Millis
Yeah, same, same. As far as Vucc goes, Drummondale played him in this game. They're absolutely rolling into game seven. But you know, if I'm picking a team, I'm still taking the Celtics at home.
Jay Skeets
Oh, wow. Okay.
Tas Millis
Yeah, if you have to pick one. But yeah, it is a coin flip.
Jay Skeets
Sure enough. Do we even know the time yet for this game on Saturday?
T.R. Mayo
I think it's 7:30.
Jay Skeets
Okay. That one's locked in. I guess they were still waiting at the time of the game ending the TBD at first, but they said 7:30.
T.R. Mayo
Okay for now.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, it makes sense. It would be one of the earlier ones on Saturday.
T.R. Mayo
I think it should favor the Celtics. Like they're due for a bounce back. Good offensive performance, but I'm going with the Sixers.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
T.R. Mayo
It's Maxi's time.
Jay Skeets
Oh, wow. Yeah. Yeah, I like it. I don't know. This is a tough one. I need the Mr. Beast coin flip here. No, I need a. I need a Mr. Beast logo on one side and the torches on the other. I don't know. I don't know.
Tas Millis
I mean, there.
Jay Skeets
I think I'm cheering for Philly though.
Tas Millis
You're right.
Jay Skeets
Like, I sort of like it. I mean, this is Bead coming back here and shaking off the Russ and Paul George. Obviously going back to looking a little bit more like Paul George when He took on LeBron way back in the day, like decade ago. Maxi a superstar. Yeah.
Tas Millis
I mean, it's been a while.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Pretty fun here.
Tas Millis
Who outside of Boston fans is cheering for Boston? Yeah, it feels like the underdog here. Yeah, I would be. I'm definitely on their side. I'm sure the Celtics are sort of thinking what you said Tyrese Maxey was thinking going back to Philly in Game 6. Hey, we haven't played a good game in a while, and they did win in Boston, but, you know, we lost game two, we lost game five, so here we are, baby. We got to play better. Those guys, I think will definitely put. I mean, the same houser, missed shots, everything. They're just. Philly is doing an incredible job of getting into everybody there.
Jay Skeets
I no doubt believe Tatum and Brown are going to bring a better effort in, in game seven, but I feel like they're going to need somebody else to. To join the club there. And I have very little confidence right now in a lot of these other guys, be it White. You know, even Pritchard is really struggling. He had. He's had a game or two here in the series, but not really. Who's coming along for the ride with those guys. They're going to. They're going to apply their force to game seven. They have before. They've been through a million of these. But yeah, scared about the big speed. You know, Kiss just foul. Trouble with Embiid. Vuch gets lit up. So where do you go? Do you go. I mean, it sounds insane taking on an Embiid Sixers team, but like going more Tatum 5 and try and just outsplash them like that.
Tas Millis
More Shiremen even, just to go smaller, just to get him. But he is a very.
T.R. Mayo
See what Maz does make him work, I guess. You know, the defense would be Embiid having to chase everybody around on the offensive end. That's how you defend against Embiid. Speaking of Embiid, he got an and one in the first quarter on Keda. And then I think he hit a Val Venus. He was doing this like to the bench and all. The bench was going with the arms up as well.
Tas Millis
Wow.
Jay Skeets
And he's so. He's moved from the DX chop to the Val Venus.
T.R. Mayo
You can't chop, but you can still show off your crotch.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I guess so.
Tas Millis
It was all.
Jay Skeets
Also, we got to see him bust out the push ups. At one point after he like, he dodged a falling body that was like, you know, coming his way. He jumped over it, but right into. Right into some push ups. I Thought good form tests.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Nice for a big guy like him.
Tas Millis
Great form, nice tucked elbows. I didn't notice that. I. That wasn't the time where he fell and we could see his sketchers, was it? Because that's what I started Googling back to the sketchers. NBA players were in Skechers og Anunoby sketchers.
T.R. Mayo
He's a sketcher.
Tas Millis
They're nice. They're the nicest ones of all of them.
Jay Skeets
Sure.
Tas Millis
Wow. Sorry.
T.R. Mayo
Are they relaxed fit? That was always the funniest thing to me. How can you make a relaxed fit shoe?
Tas Millis
Those are like as the slip on ones, not the basketball.
T.R. Mayo
Those ones are tight. But I know Mark Cuban used to wear relaxed fit Skechers.
Tas Millis
That is hilarious. A middle aged man walk. Walking around shoe that you never have to tie. It's a slip on.
Jay Skeets
My mom could not stop talking about how great Skechers were these not these slip in sketches.
Tas Millis
Oh really?
Jay Skeets
Oh my God. She just got a pair. Loves them. Loves them. She mentioned them like eight times. She was here. She was here for a week.
T.R. Mayo
Check the sketch.
Tas Millis
People like just slipping on a shoe. It is. You know, it's weird. It's. It's kind of like veering into a. A new balance basketball shoe world. The Skechers basketball shoe world. It's.
T.R. Mayo
It's weird.
Tas Millis
But the OJN and OBI Wan, the RFKX rain.
Jay Skeets
Oh my God. You really were doing research last year.
Tas Millis
That's the only range. That's the only one.
Jay Skeets
Well, they're working for him, that's for sure.
T.R. Mayo
I mean, pretty solid games for all the sketcher boys. Julius Randall's a sketcher guy as well.
Tas Millis
Oh yeah.
Jay Skeets
They got the win. Yeah, they got the win. Yeah.
Tas Millis
Oh, wow. So yeah, didn't hate him. I am, I am interested to see how small Joe Missoula does go against the. The Embiid lineups because there are. They're already grabbing more than half the rebounds, so why not? Yeah, I mean it sounds a little crazy, but they do need to get more threes up and want to get more threes up and get those guys, the Shireman's, the Housers, the Pritchards into their role.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's. I mean it feels like at this point of the series it is on Missoula and the Celtics. They need to adapt here and need to try something else. Unless they just keep going. It's okay, we'll hit threes. But you're being run off the line and they are taking them away. Part of nurse's game plan. And it is working here, the last little bit. So, yeah, let's see what he does here in Game seven, if anything. Any other notes? Any other random notes? Nope. All right, that's it for me. Game seven, baby. Nice to have a Zaza clip here, big time.

Knicks beating the Hawks. Saddest caca of all time. Wow, this was wild. The Knicks finished off the Hawks a record performance in Game 6 last night. It was 40 to 15 after the first quarter. That included a 9, 0 Atlanta run in the early minutes of the game. They had the lead where the place was buzzing, the fortress was hot there for three or four minutes and then it was over. Ziller noted this in his newsletter this morning. I have to share it with you. The TikTok of the first half. It's just wild Hawks. Like I said, they're up 11, 9 four minutes into the game.
T.R. Mayo
Feeling good.
Jay Skeets
Knicks go on a 140 run. Okay, a lot of those were turnovers in transition. Atlanta scored a bucket. New York goes on a 90 run. Atlanta scores a bucket. New York goes on a 16 to 0 run. Atlanta hit attack and a three. New York goes on a 12 oh run. Atlanta hit a three. New York goes on another 100 run. That's how we get to 72, 22. When you add it all up at that point, the worst thing Atlanta could do in this game was score because it was then giving up a 10 plus oh run. Yeah, stop scoring. Crazy. Crazy. They led by as many 61 points. So I don't know what takeaways you have from this one, Trey, but we had some great performances from a lot of Knicks guys. Of course.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, I mean, I don't have a lot of takeaways about the game. It wasn't much of a game. Like I saw some of the write ups saying that the Knicks went on a 60 to an 11 run. You're not supposed to be able to put that big of a number into a run. Like 30 is ridiculous in these magic games. And we're talking like a 30 to 1 run, right? 33 to 260 is an entire half of basketball. And you know, Skeets, we were playing pickup last night. This game was over by our third pickup game. Yeah. And we start at seven.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, it was.
T.R. Mayo
Wait a second, it's 36 to 15. That's not a good start. Maybe, maybe things will turn around here. The second quarter and then you play one seven minute game and it was like 55 to 7.
Jay Skeets
I was gonna say that was my favorite part. You would go play one 7 minute pickup game and every time you came back somebody was going, you're not gonna believe the score now. What? Hold on. What?
T.R. Mayo
That was crazy.
Jay Skeets
So it made for a fun watch going home knowing. Okay, well I'm not watching all the entirety of this one, but let's watch what happens here in the first quarter. And again started great for Atlanta and then just got a control. But OG Anunoby, I thought was this like if you had to pick one of the Knicks players to give like the first star to him for this game and all series. This guy is on another level right now as a two way player. Yeah, superstar.
Tas Millis
And I think it starts from the Mike Brown change of putting Cat up top. Being that passer. He is a pillar. Just standing and passing over everybody. 3 assists to OG Anunobi in this one because everybody's cutting, everybody's moving. Mikel Bridges had a good game.
Jay Skeets
He sure did. Well, I was wondering did he know he was drafted in the first round of the most disappointing players in the playoffs so far.
Tas Millis
But it's contagious to start cutting around Cat and OG OG was hitting shots that OG shouldn't even be taken. You know, the one off one leg just letting her fly. But everybody moving around him, you know, after it was. It was game four where we started to have Cat up top. He had six assists OG in that game. He's at 10, six and 10 the last three games. So those guys, mainly OG and Mikel Bridges, obviously Josh Hart's gonna move. They're all moving. So they're. This is an all. It's a different offense watching this thing happen. They get to rest for whoever they play in round two. So they're gonna go back to that and they're gonna be fresh cutting around Cat.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, it's Mike Brown just keeping that in his pocket the entire season. Cause there were so many question the entire year of the Knicks, like why can't they get Towns involved in these plays? Why can't they let him create some kind of stuff? You flashback to the way Mike Brown's teams played in Sacramento. That's the Monte Sabonis basketball. Catch the ball at the elbow or maybe at the top of the key find cutters. You're drawing out the smallest big man in the playoffs in on Yaka Kongwu. So there's nobody left there. And once they did that, it was just like back cut Central for OG and Anobi. He shot 61% this series and 57% from three.
Jay Skeets
Man. Man was dominated and was awesome on the other side of the ball where he's one of the elite defenders in this Game on the perimeter. So great, great stuff from him. Five minutes remaining in the first half. OG actually at the free throw line. Dyson Daniels, Mitchell Robinson get locked up, tangled up. Dyson Daniels throwing a bow underneath the sort of the armpit there to Mitch Robinson sort of yanking back. And all hell broke loose after that. Those two really wanted at each other. Fight spilled over sort of into the front row. Both guys ejected. You know, look, Daniel's. You can understand why he was frustrated. Your team is literally getting waxed by 50s. Like, I don't want to play in this anymore, so I'll start some here. But Mitchell Rumsey was fired up. You don't see him like that, where he was trying to get back at him.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Sort of had stopped and then they both sort of tried to go at each other again.
Tas Millis
Yeah. And Mike Breen on the call who calls Nick's games said, whoa, having been with this guy all season, I never see him do this kind of thing.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
But I think that's the ideal way to fight in the playoffs. I mean, he literally didn't raise his arms. He just went at Dyson Daniels with his huge body, not worried about anything being thrown at his face. He's just super confident. So that's the way to fight. And that confident obviously trickles down to everybody else. Like they're just super confident. And I think that's how you. How you scrap. Although Dyson Daniels was a bad game. They all had bad games.
Jay Skeets
Geez, who had a good game?
T.R. Mayo
Nobody had. Nobody had a good game.
Tas Millis
Nobody had a good game. But Dyson got blocked once by Cat inside. Then he went to his three point shooting. His only take or his only shot attempt inside was that one where he was blocked. So just one two point shot in this one. The rest in three point land where he doesn't shoot all that well. So just a bad game for him. And to kill Alexander Walker. What a night to get the most improved player trophy handed to you pre game. And then having more turnover than buckets.
Jay Skeets
Well, that's the Knicks defense, the active hands, man, they felt like especially of course, in the first half of this game. First quarter felt like a steal. Every second possession was a steal, like poked away and then they're going the other way and scoring. So it got out of hand in a hurry. I saw the Athletic had a headline this morning that asks, is the Eastern Conference the Knicks to lose? That feels like, yeah, right at this point. Right. Because of what's going on in the rest of the conference. Sixers are back in their series. I mean the Celtics have blown a 31 lead. Now need a game 7 to even advance if they can. Sixers are better with Embiid if they get the upset, but we. It's tough to trust the health of that squad moving forward. Always is with Embiid. Top seeded Pistons, they got to win two more here still to get past the Magic and the Cavs and Raptor. I mean Cavs have not looked dominant against the Raptors. Raptors scrappy bunch, but obviously, you know, not exceptionally talented on the offense. And so yeah, like to me this is like an absolute disappointment for the Knicks if they do not go to the Eastern Conference, excuse me, to the finals. This is theirs for the taking. Has to be.
T.R. Mayo
It's definitely, it's definitely theirs for the taking. They are the team that has had like the least changeover at all this year, right? I guess the Pistons. The Pistons had a lot of changeover. They had an awesome season, but they're struggling right now. The Celtics had to deal with three starters going out. Luke Cornett going out, Tatum coming back late. The Cavs made a huge trade bringing in James Harden, not to mention the Schroeder and Ellis trades as well. The Knicks basically ran things back. They added Jose Alvarado. He's been solid for them in a couple of spot minutes here. So they've got the continuity. They went to the conference finals last year and fired their coaches that we need to make the finals. I was surprised. FanDuel has them third in the east right now. Celtics plus 185, Cavs 260, Knicks 280. So I mean basically the. The same as the Cavs.
Jay Skeets
Wow. Yeah, that is a little surprised. Shocking.
T.R. Mayo
They dominated this series like the Hawks. Credit to them. They won the two games that they needed to win. Of course, the ones that were close. But that was the Knicks blowing a lead and the Knicks almost coming back and stealing game four. What was that game three as well? The other ones were. I mean what is the point differential in this series ends up? I'm sure they're plus 100, so.
Jay Skeets
Plus 105 or something.
T.R. Mayo
Exactly.
Jay Skeets
Stupid. I think it's a record for a six game series.
T.R. Mayo
So they, they botched two games.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
And so, you know, if you're, if you're a Knicks fan, you're saying we went 6, 0 this series. I guess I do think they probably have looked the best in the east. But their losses looked ugly and stupid too.
Tas Millis
Yeah. They are the favorite to get to the NBA Finals and this first Two weeks couldn't have worked out better for them in the postseason because Detroit goes down 31 in their series now still have to get there. And Boston also didn't take care of business. They lost game two. It seemed like, okay, they got this thing. They're up 3:1 in that series. Still haven't done it. So they were the favorite in my eyes to come out. Yeah, the Pistons should have been up there as well, but now they're not. So, yeah, these first two weeks have worked out perfectly for a Knicks team that expects in their locker room to get to the NBA Finals. Their owner expects them to get to the NBA Finals or else they're going to tear it down. So this has worked out perfectly. They are the favorite, I think, at this point right here, right now. I mean, when they get to the play, the Celtics, if it ends up being the Celtics, wouldn't be surprising to see the Celtics beat them. But they are playing their best ball, and the other top two teams ahead of them have not played their best ball.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. James Edwards III wrote, we're at a point where it feels as if New York is its own worst enemy. And even that logic is starting to feel shaky. The individual talent has always been there, but now it's starting to look like a team, a real team here. And Mike Brown is definitely, as we talked about with the offense, thinking a lot more cohesive and using Cat a lot more and getting him involved. And then, like, we didn't even mention Brunson, who had a pretty damn good series overall as well. But you always got the rock in him to get you across the finish line if you need that. So, yeah, to me, absolute failure if they do not get there at this point with how they look compared to all the other teams. And like, yeah, you might say, well, the Hawks are not that great. Yeah, I had the Knicks winning in five. They should have, in my opinion, at least one of those two games at the end that they lost by one point. But all these other teams look, you know, beatable. And right now, with the way the Knicks are playing as a team, holy crap.
Tas Millis
I'm convinced if they don't get to the Finals, they definitely tear it down. There's no question. Trey had the idea that if, even if they get to the Finals but don't win the championship.
Jay Skeets
Right.
Tas Millis
That they tear it down.
T.R. Mayo
Well, I mean, tear it down is a question because, like, the tear it down is getting Giannis. Right.
Jay Skeets
Like, I think that's what.
T.R. Mayo
That's the move they're thinking about.
Tas Millis
Yeah, but I, I still don't think even if they get to the Finals, which is an accomplishment, that they go get Giannis because they got to the finals. But that's the, that's the bench. Yeah, we shall see. They got to get there first. They still do.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, exactly.
Jay Skeets
Right.
Tas Millis
It's not done.
Jay Skeets
That's true.
T.R. Mayo
Do you think any, Any concern that Mitchell Robinson could see be suspended for game one? This was a big skirmish. Like, your guy Brent fell down. Barnacie was on the ground.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, Barnacie was down.
T.R. Mayo
Mike. Mike Brown was on the ground as well. Holding his glasses. Yeah, a few times. I'm like, did he take off his glasses before he got into the mix? No, it was after. He had to scramble and grab him on the ground, but he was holding on tight. This was like, into the first row of the stands, like I thought. Valid ejection. The game is over. They don't want guys fighting. I don't think Robinson should be suspended, but undeniably he was in the stands touching referees, and he never stopped.
Jay Skeets
True. Yeah, he kept going. Was his the worst problem or the worst thing he did? But in his defense, or at least I think the league would look at it like this. He did not start that.
T.R. Mayo
No, he didn't.
Jay Skeets
That was Dyson Daniels. That was.
T.R. Mayo
He gave him a nut.
Tas Millis
He gave him a Yank.
T.R. Mayo
He gave him an Owen.
Jay Skeets
Exactly. First off, the elbow is one thing, but okay, you know, they're going to throw elbows in a postseason. But then when he yanked, that's what really pissed off Mitch Robinson. You could pull my shoulder out. So, like, he didn't really start it, and then he did not throw anything that I could tell. Like, no punches. Not really. Really. Not even any shoves. It was more just let me get at him. And like you said, he's just chested up to him.
T.R. Mayo
So menacing out there.
Jay Skeets
I don't, I don't think so. And I. And from what I haven't seen, like, a lot of people going, oh, he's, he deserves a game. It doesn't feel that way. So I think he'll be there for game one against either the Celtics or Sixers.
Tas Millis
No suspension. I don't think you're right. It escalated. It was bad. But again, literally, it's like he had his arms tied to his legs. So I feel like I, I, I start to go back to the, the Charlotte Detroit fight earlier this year with Musa Diabate and Jalen Duran, and here comes Isaiah Stewart.
Jay Skeets
But that was more of a fight.
Tas Millis
Yeah, exactly. Exactly. There was Some fisticuffs. There was guys leaving the bench, but it's also from the other side. It's also not surprising or wouldn't be surprising to see a guy get suspended for one game even. But I. I don't think so. I mean, Dyson Daniels doesn't have to be suspended next season that it feels like it's done. They're waiting, so I don't know. It's less of a story as their
Jay Skeets
scarier moment was when Mitchell Robinson hurt his ankle. I was like, oh, my God, what have I done? I just said yesterday, oh, everybody stop talking about Mitchell Robinson. It was funny Cooks when he looks the most dominant is when he gets hurt. And, like, sure, he came up hobbling, but he returned. He returned and got into a skirmish and then got tossed. So that was probably good for the Knicks as well.
Tas Millis
Yeah. And they get multiple days off here.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Waiting.
Jay Skeets
Anything else from this one? My only other note is we saw probably the saddest swag surf of all time.
Tas Millis
Oh. Oh, wow. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
That's between the third and fourth quarter.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, it is.
T.R. Mayo
And they did it well.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I know. It's on. It's on schedule, man.
T.R. Mayo
Like, what are you supposed to do?
Jay Skeets
They were down like 50, and you're trying to get the crowd to do the swag. Oh, my God, that's so sad. Wow. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
I guess Quinn Sn. Or did Quinn Snyder have to do an interview? Like, that's what I'm saying. Like, what do you. What do you say to your team at halftime when you're down by 50?
Jay Skeets
Say we.
T.R. Mayo
Let's give them something to cheer about out there.
Jay Skeets
We had a good year, guys.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
And they did. I don't know if we want to do the postmortem on the Hawks right now. Could save it, but, look, they turned their season around, obviously, with the big trades and took two games against a team that we're saying, look, they look like the favorites to win the east, so no shame in that.
Tas Millis
No.
Jay Skeets
But need size. And I like that least with the. Jalen Johnson, his first playoff series as the number one guy. Yeah, it ended on a sour note. But, you know, you got to take this as a growing experience here. And that's what he said after. Right. This is a big learning experience. And we'll go from here. Take your lumps and get better, which he has to in postseason, at least because he was minimized big time.
T.R. Mayo
Yes, he was.
Tas Millis
Yeah. Yeah. Good. 21 from Jalen Johnson in this one. And Nikhil Alexander Walker, unfortunately, they needed they needed Jock Lando. That would have been nice to have
T.R. Mayo
him not have made a difference at all.
Jay Skeets
It would have lost by 18.
Tas Millis
Come on. They needed.
T.R. Mayo
They need a starting center. Yeah, like a congu is a great player. He had an awesome season. He should have been in the mix for most improved player. He can shoot threes now, but he's not a real starting center. Not for a playoff team.
Tas Millis
Right. They. Yeah. I mean, I just wanted Jock Landale out there to throw some size in against Mitchell Robinson. I think it would have helped the offensive rebounds. But I also just wanted to transition to young Jock. Another jock. He performed at halftime, right?
Jay Skeets
Did he?
Tas Millis
I think so.
Jay Skeets
Last night?
Tas Millis
Yeah, I think so.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Unless I'm mistaken. Anyway, they couldn't turn around the. The swag surf. That's. I mean, they turned around the season, but they couldn't turn around the swag surf. How could they possibly do that? It was sad.
Jay Skeets
No one was on their aame last night for Atlanta. Even the game ops. Did you see the one play in the first half? They had the lights going.
T.R. Mayo
Oh, no.
Jay Skeets
Like during game action. Like the strobe lights were going on the court. They quickly turned them off. It's like, damn, nobody's on their A game tonight. All right, so congrats to the Knicks. They move on and we'll wait to see who they play. Obviously in the 27 matchup, Celtics or Sixers?

the Wolves beating the Nuggets in six games. Wow. Jayden McDaniel's awesome performance on both ends. What he did in putting the handcuffs on Jamal Murray in game six and throughout the series for a second time now and scoring over 30 points and grabbing over 10 boards. 11098 Wolves take care of the Nuggets here despite you know what, hours before the game, losing another star guard in Iowa Desuma, who had a 43 point game in this series. He's out to no ant, no divincenzo. It was looking like here you go Denver. Here is a maybe a free pass to at least a game seven if not moving to the second round and instead Minnesota came out and took care of business.
T.R. Mayo
It was also a hot start for the Nuggets, but the Timberwolves and their fans, they were not going to give up easily because the Timberwolves got right back into it, gained the lead right back and the place was going insane. And then the game continued and fans never went away. Timberwolves never went away. I think a new quiet Leonard just dropped.
Tas Millis
Ooh. Whoa.
T.R. Mayo
Jaden McDaniels was awesome.
Jay Skeets
He was.
Tas Millis
Last night he was.
T.R. Mayo
He had Jamal Murray in Jail blocking his shot, not even letting him get shots up. Murray looked so uncomfortable. And that was maybe the second best side of the ball for Jaden McDaniels last night. Going for 32 on 25 shots. Like they're missing so many guys, they need somebody to create from the perimeter. I didn't think it felt natural all the time, but he bailed them out of so many possessions when they absolutely needed 12 points in the fourth quarter to close the door. When he hit that final jumper over Jamal Murray and then just stood there, that was tough guy.
Jay Skeets
Talked a big game in this series and he backed it up.
Tas Millis
Yeah. And I liked how he didn't just come out shooting in this game. He was doing the defending. You only had 10 shots in the first half and then took over more so in the second half. Kudos to that guy, to that entire team. Because, yes, he was definitely rattling Jamal Murray. Jamal Murray is just a little reluctant to go at him. It seemed. I mean, from the get go, he allowed Jaden McDaniels to. To recover and get into space. Jaden was in his head. And it came down to the final few minutes when Jamal Murray Rattled a 3 with 4 minutes left. Rattled in and out, and then he got past McDaniels, but there was a hesitation there and Rudy was able to recover to block him. So back to back possessions, where. In a game where Jamal Murray didn't perform like he can perform against Shane McDaniels, but Jay McDaniels had him. He'd had him locked up. I don't know if I can call him Kawhi Leonard to see him have a game like this that Jaden McDaniels. Should they trade Anthony Edwards, just let Jaden McD run and be their number one guy.
T.R. Mayo
Well, it's pretty smart that they didn't trade Jaden McDaniels. They were thinking about it.
Tas Millis
Yeah. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Kevin Durant, who's not playing.
Tas Millis
This is Anthony Edwards. Definitely the peak that he asks of Jaden McDaniels every single time. We need you, man. We need you offensively. And he literally was patient again. Zero turnovers on 25 shots. Yeah, this was an incredible game. And then to have TJ Shannon come in there. The Nuggets weren't performing defensively a lot. To see this guy and his athleticism be able to just slice down the lane, whether it was a free throw that the Nuggets were taking at the other end and he was able to just go cut all the way to the rim or an after timeout play. That was. It was horrendous to see that from the Nuggets side, but the Timberwolves deserve everything. They took 94 shots in this game, while the. The Nuggets took 74 shots in this game. That tells you everything. Yeah, it's all rebounds. They. They rebounded 38% of their misses. That was a team that wanted it way more. So that's the story right there. Team that definitely wanted it.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, the Nuggets were the best offense in the league, let's not forget, all season long. And they were held to under 100 points three times in this series. That is unbelievable. And Finch went big here in game six with the. All the big boys there. And then obviously had Taran Shannon Jr attacking, attacking, attacking that inept defense on Denver. Way he's going left.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, guess what? He's going left. Somebody tell Jamal Murray.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, you know, obviously it feels like the Nuggets are just not a good team without Aaron Gordon. That's what I started, like, wondering, like, when he's not out there. They are very beatable. But yeah, 24 points for Shannon Jr. 9 to 10, 9 to 20 overall. And had this huge three point play too, when it was still a close game. Down the stretches, Denver's trying to get us to game seven with like 145 to go. He capitalized on that six board. Solid defense from him, too. But this was. McDaniels owns Jamal Murray. Like, this is now the second playoff series where he's done this. He shot Jamal Murray. Shot 35% from the field and 21, 26% from deep. Excuse me. This series, Jamal Murray was amazing all year long. Obviously first time all star. Incredible. But McDaniels did this two years ago to Jamal Murray, too. He gets in his head. The length and speed and smarts defensively. Like, Jamal Murray was missing a lot of bunnies. And you're like, well, just finish those bunnies. He's missing them because of the defender, because he's rushed, because he doesn't know where he is because he's not in the rhythm.
Tas Millis
Yeah, the rhythm. No doubt, no doubt.
Jay Skeets
It's the same for. And I know Yoko shot a better game. Sick. But that's what Gobert did to Jokic all series, too. That's why it's not just like, oh, these guys are just missing shots. No, they're missing shots because of the defense of these two guys in particular. McDaniels and Rudy Gobert. Sure they are. They are.
T.R. Mayo
Well, of course, of course.
Tas Millis
Jamal Murray missed shots yesterday because Jane McDaniels was into him. And you go watch every single shot from Jokic from all these six games. Yeah, he was rattled. He came out and said post series, I think we are far away from contention.
T.R. Mayo
He's right.
Tas Millis
I mean, yeah, they, it would help Aaron Gordon and Peyton Watson out there as their athleticism to defend a guy like freaking TJ Shannon cutting down the lane or to be able to match up against Jaden McDaniels. But Jamal Murray couldn't get into his flow with that monstrous body of Nikola jokicing off Jada McDaniels. I mean, there's space there to, to be able to just ready to go and fire up when he gets around that pick. But he allowed Jaden McDaniels to recover in that space. He never got into a flow. And yeah, McDaniels was definitely in his head. I think more so than Rudy was in Jokic's head. But we'll never see the inside of Jokic's head. I mean, he, he always also just doesn't believe in his team. Also the injuries and Ruigo Bear did a very good job.
T.R. Mayo
You should frame this series. I don't know if you can frame an entire six game series, but this is Rudy Gobert's crowning achievement. He's got multiple defensive players of the year and this is going to be the best thing for his legacy because he took Jokic out of the game. We're talking about injuries for sure, Gordon and Watson, but Murray and Jokic weren't good enough in this series. And I think it's mostly because of the defense from McDaniels and from Rudy Gobert. I keep thinking of that game too. Fourth quarter, Jokic went 1 for 7. Completely ran out of steam. The next game, a 7 for 26. Next game, 8 of 22. That was the whole series. He figured Dobert out a little bit more as the series went on. Really slow start, really slow first half or at least a playmaking first half for Jokic last night. Then he took over in the third quarter and played the entire third quarter, played the entire fourth quarter and ran out of steam again. This is the worst series of Jokic's prime for sure. This is like his LeBron 2011 finals.
Tas Millis
Yeah, that game too, where he played 1 for 1 for 7 and was just, you know, tired, rolled, ran out of steam. I mean, it's hard to just say how Rudy hit him and banged him and was into his head for the first three quarters. To me, watching him miss those Shots and miss every single three. And it's. He also just stunk and just. And he wasn't good. Simple as that.
T.R. Mayo
So you're saying more of a choke than Gilbert coming through?
Tas Millis
Yeah. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Either way.
Tas Millis
In part. Either way. Extremely bad. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
I think we're discrediting. Discrediting a little bit what Rudy did offensively in the series, too.
T.R. Mayo
He was not a zero.
Jay Skeets
He was not a zero.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Last night he has 10, 13, and eight assists. He's basically doing like a mini Jokic.
Tas Millis
Yeah, he.
Jay Skeets
He was good.
Tas Millis
No, the 10 assists, was it eight?
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Oh, I thought he got up to 10.
Jay Skeets
10, 13 and eight.
Tas Millis
Oh, my bad. It felt like 10. If this dude is making fancy passes, it's over. And it's not dribbling into his crotch like he did earlier in this. In this series or game one that they lost. He went behind the back when Bruce Brown ran that thing the other way in the fourth quarter. No, I don't know if it's his crowning achievement, but I can't think of another better one. You know, when they came back in
T.R. Mayo
that game, playoff talk is this guy gets played off the court every playoffs.
Tas Millis
Sure.
T.R. Mayo
Luka Doncic hitting a three in his face and getting screamed at. Terrence Mann driving in from the corner, this was the complete opposite of that. He wanted the best offensive player in the game and held him to a bad series.
Tas Millis
For Jokic, it's fair. It's fair. When they knocked off the reigning champs in 24 in game seven, when they came back from 20 points down in Denver's arena. That, as a team, I think, is more of a crowning achievement to me than this because they went to the conference finals that year. But as far as Rudy goes, it's probably going to be this one because how bad Jokic was.
Jay Skeets
Well, Rudy now has to go from guarding Nicola Jokic to Wemby or at least, you know, in that series against the Spurs. Holy crap. So hope you got a little left in the tank here.
T.R. Mayo
Been watching him his whole life.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Hey, man. And I'm with you to go back to the crowd, Trey, like the target center crowd understood the assignment last night, and we talked about, like, this. They have to win the Game six here. It's like, don't try and do what you did a couple years ago where you want a Game seven on the road, especially down all these guys and down Ant and all that. I think it's unlikely. It felt like they knew. They knew from the jump. We got to win this game and we're short all these guys and we got to do our help them out. Obviously, energetically. They were awesome. That was a loud, loud building from as far as the playoffs have gone. To me that was one of the louder crowds through the broadcast.
T.R. Mayo
They were very loud.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. So they got it done and they will now take on the San Antonio Spurs. So we'll have to preview that early next week, I guess.
Tas Millis
Yeah. No Dante and obviously no Anthony Edwards. I assume I.O. comes back, but I know T.J. shannon. This is one game his first playoff start was really good at. This is what they wanted when they let Shea Gil. Just Alexander go to Atlanta for him.
T.R. Mayo
Alexander Walker.
Tas Millis
I'm sorry. Yeah. Yeah. An SGA and an naw.
Jay Skeets
Crazy move, right?
Tas Millis
Yeah. They thought Terence Rob Dillingham and Jalen Clark would sort of work as a. A three headed replacement for Nikhil Notche. And in a way you watch this and you could say, well, he's super athletic. And they got rid of Rob Dillingham to trade for. I would assume so it's totally different now. But this was. Yeah, his a great performance. Will he have to start immediately? That would stink for to not have IO out there. The guy they traded Rob Dillingham for. It would suck. That would suck.
Jay Skeets
It's gonna be a rude awakening, I will say, going from playing Denver who do not have a great defense to then playing the spurs who have the greatest defensive player we maybe have ever seen and really good perimeter defenders as well. It's just going to be like, whoa. Be alarming, I think to go from playing Denver to San Antonio.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, they're going to be like they got a guy challenging shots at the rim.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
What?
Jay Skeets
That's going to be strange.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
We just played six games with that never happening. But that will be a change.
Jay Skeets
The underdog for sure. Any other notes from this one? Yeah, I like talking about Mike Conley. He played pretty well.
T.R. Mayo
I thought Mike Conley had a solid game. He was going nuts when he thought he had that block in the fourth quarter. He's like flexing to the crowd. I was like, this would be awesome. Time for Mike Conley to get his first technical. Like he gets a taunting technical for blocking a shot, but like credit to that guy getting dusted off. Chris Finch said it's a crime against humanity that he can't play Mike Conley. But the dude's struggling. He's at the end of his career, but when called upon he did just enough hit a few shots. I thought that was pretty sweet for him. So yeah, he's getting his, what, 1000th career playoff start, and Taran Shannon Jr gets his first one. That's crazy.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
T.R. Mayo
I also like when they were like, chris Finch is basically playing point guard for the Timberwolves right now because they had no playmakers out there, and it was like, they're running a weird three big lineup because, like, those are the healthiest guys. They got Randall, Reed and Gobert. So they're like, yeah, Chris Finch is calling the plays. He's saying, tara Shannon, go stand over there. Go do this, go do that, go to that. That's pretty sweet.
Tas Millis
And they didn't even have Kyle Anderson out there who had an illness. You know, he would be out there. They're making slow mo passes out there to try and start things up. But seeing Dante DiVincenzo, to me, I think that's admirable. To see a guy come out after having surgery, being there with his leg up. Obviously, the team's playing hard for him, but just being there, period, I would not want to show my face at all. I'd be at home and Achilles surgery. The guy is there three days later at three and a half.
Jay Skeets
They all wore his jersey.
Tas Millis
They all wore his jersey. It was pretty cool.
T.R. Mayo
A lot of different styles of jersey. How would you wear it?
Jay Skeets
It. How would I wear it?
T.R. Mayo
Nazri's like, Nazri just carried his in.
Tas Millis
No.
Jay Skeets
Well, I would wear it. I wouldn't do that. What's the point?
Tas Millis
Yeah, I wouldn't do the. The Rudy Gold Bear just wore it normally. Right. I think you got to wear reverse
T.R. Mayo
Julie Randall, I think, on the front.
Tas Millis
Exactly.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Yeah. I think you want to rock it that way.
JD (Super Producer)
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
At least he's got a memorable number. So if you just rock, you know, you just see the zero, you know, it's him.
Tas Millis
Turn it around.
Jay Skeets
A lot of people, including ourselves, pick Denver in this series. Nuggets to advance. You know, Nuggets in five, Nuggets in six, some Nuggets in seven. All that. That's going to be, I think, the same here in a San Antonio, Minnesota series. I think you're going to see a lot of spurs in 5, 6, or 7. And I bring that up because it feels like this is the one team maybe here in the. In the Wolves, that because of the injuries, are going to be able to lean into the underdog, and nobody believes in us, and we're going to be always picked against in every series, and, you know, trying to use that as the bulletin board material. Finch went so far to say after this, like. And we took this matchup personally because he was trying to say Denver actually picked us as an opponent, which he's, like, rewriting history at the end of the regular season because they were trying to actually lose games to get into the four. Five. I'm talking about Denver here. But then they won against okc, remember? And all this, like, I think they were actually trying to avoid Minnesota, but couldn't. So whatever Finch has got to do, he's got to do. They wanted us. Oh, my God, let's go get them. But we'll see what he comes up with. He conjures for. Against the spurs as sort of motivation.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, but certainly Finch must have been saying something similar, like, they wanted us. Let's show them what they got. And it inspired the team because after the series, Jamal Murray was basically the same. He's like, yeah, they take it really personally playing us. We need to do that. And you can't deny that it mostly felt like that. This series, the Wolves playing with the chip on their shoulder and the Nuggets being like, we can always beat these
Jay Skeets
guys a little bit. Yeah. This team was built to beat the Nuggets is the best part by the guy that built the Nuggets. So, you know, now. Now, if anything, it's like, hey, Denver, you got to figure out how to beat Minnesota because you're struggling against them in postseason matchups, even with all the injuries and both sides were injured. I mean, look, you know, I still think it's a crazier injury for the Wolves to lose and. And divincenzo.
Tas Millis
Absolutely.
Jay Skeets
Then Gordon and Watson. But again, AG is very, very important to the Nuggets success, especially just being a guy that actually plays defense and is in a liability offense. Yeah. Yeah. So good stuff from Minnesota. Congrats to Joe. Mandy texted us right away with a screen grab of all those Nuggets selections. It wasn't ours, but it was the ESPN one.
T.R. Mayo
No, but.
Jay Skeets
But he was saying, you suckers did it, too.
T.R. Mayo
He's right. We did.
Jay Skeets
We all.
T.R. Mayo
We all picked the Nuggets. One of us, at the very least, should have swerved and taken the Wolves because they play the Nuggets well. But, I mean, to Joe's credit, we all picked the Nuggets. He said Wolves in three right away.
Jay Skeets
All right. You got to. A big part of that was definitely Denver winning their last 12 games of the regular season. They looked. They were playing their best basketball. They were. So that was a big part of my thinking, and truthfully, not thinking you could figure out and slow down Jamal Murray and Jokic the two man game enough.
T.R. Mayo
And they did.
Jay Skeets
They did. Yeah, they did. So credit to them. Credit Joe Mandy as the Nuggets window closed.
T.R. Mayo
That's a lot of the talk today. They just lost to a decimated Minnesota team who is not considered the top of the conference.
Tas Millis
Yeah, yeah, yeah. I think as soon as Jokic says, you know, we're far from a contention team, their front office has to get rid of their old guys, especially Aaron Gordon's legs. Hamstrings were bad last year in the postseason, but he hung on by a threat. And so that's the worry if you were going to rely on Aaron Gordon. And now you've got Peyton Watson, who could have been the Aaron Gordon replacement going into free agency, but they probably don't want to pay him. There's lots of money on the books with Jokic, Murray, Ton going to Cam Johnson. You signed Christian Brown. There's lots of money that they've locked up. So I don't know if they can or want to sign Payton Watson, but I think it's trying to find a team. Taking Aaron Gordon, most likely.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
More so than Cam Johnson. Well, I mean, that's, that's the thing. They're gonna have to pay to get off of Cam Johnson, but they probably should to be able to resign Watson, though. Look, Cam Johnson played pretty well last night.
Tas Millis
Last night was his best game, there's no doubt.
T.R. Mayo
And he was good in game five. So, like, he got better as the
Tas Millis
series got on, but also battled injury this season. You know, if that's the thing where you didn't get into the flow.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. But also, like, Watson is a better defender and athlete than he is, and that stuck out the most to me was the lack of defense. And they just look so slow compared to Minnesota.
Tas Millis
Yeah. When, when they were. When Jokic was out, Peyton Watson stepped up, up in a monstrous way. I'm sure we could have. If we're, you know, exaggerating the headlines in one of our shows, we could have said that guy is the new Kawhi Leonard, you know, or, or something to that effect, because he was really good and then he's out. And so I thought, okay, here's a team that would be willing to pay him as a restricted free agent a heck of a lot more than the Nuggets were, like the Lakers, because they always enter the conversation. But there could be a team out there that could do that. But they need him. They desperately need them. But this was all about the Wolves, Joe, Mandy, Hanif, Abdurraqib, who came on our show once upon a time, all those. Yeah, they did it. They did it and the whole house, as you said, the arena. They love the rivalry, man. They just love that rivalry more so than the Nuggets did.
Jay Skeets
And I guess the Nuggets are lucky they're in Denver and not Serbia because Jokic said if they were in Serbia, they'd all be fired.
T.R. Mayo
We'd all be said he wants to
Jay Skeets
be a Nugget for life. He didn't blame David Adelman either. He's like, he's not out there not grabbing rebounds and not playing defense. So we'll see. But we'll talk about some of these teams that get eliminated as we move forward here and we have less games and more time to talk about them. So fun action last night. Let's take a break and then we'll get into worst of the week. FanDuel customers can bet $5 and you can get 250 in bonus bets if your first bet wins. That's right. Tas Millis
you got that one right. Do I get an award for saying the one team that could make my pick look stupid was Minnesota? I didn't. You did say that, but it's not.
Jay Skeets
We were talking about of all of our predictions, which one are you? Like, oh, I would wish I could change that one or I should have changed that one. You did say that one.
Tas Millis
Yeah, I said it. That's not picking them. That's disrespectful. Hey, the Wolves deserve it. I wonder. I wonder if that's. That's gotta be the one that's the most everybody else picked the Nuggets, right? As you said, wasn't a lot of
Jay Skeets
Wolves picks, that's for sure.
T.R. Mayo
Lakers, Rockets Was heavy. Rockets as well.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
It ain't over till it's over.
Jay Skeets
That's not over, baby. It's not over. Okay, let's get to worst of the week.
Tas Millis
Ladies and gentlemen, the worst of the week. First of three nominees. Vijay Edgecombe. He didn't wink at the camera. He winked at his teammate.
Jay Skeets
Oh, you know.
Tas Millis
Yeah, I know. I know you're hurt, Skeets, because you really like that moment in Game 2 when he was 30 points, 10 boards. He was awesome. And it looked like he looked at a camera across the floor as well. YouTube. Yeah. Looked at us. It sounds like me talking about Zion Williamson. Preseason when I believed in Zion because he was, like, talking to me. It looks like he's looking right at the camera. Looking right at you. But apparently it was to Tyrese Maxey. As he said one of his teammates, at least he didn't even really remember. He's like, yeah, I think it was Maxi.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. I knew in my heart all along he wasn't winking at the camera because there was like, somebody broke it down where the camera was actually located. Yeah. Yeah. And it was so 123ft away.
T.R. Mayo
And you don't know which one is active.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. And so he wasn't doing that. He never was. But it just the perfect sight line to make it look like he was. But you should. He should have said he was.
JD (Super Producer)
Was.
Jay Skeets
Come on, man. Vijay, come on.
T.R. Mayo
He's too honest. Like, you want to do the dunk contest? He's like, no, no. And then later he's like, oh, maybe I will. Guess what? He didn't. So, yeah, he's telling the truth here. So I guess credit to the director.
Jay Skeets
Hell yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. Great call for that shot.
Jay Skeets
Great call for that shot. Great. Great job by the cameraman. Or woman, too. Whoever got zoomed.
T.R. Mayo
Oh, Larry's got pj.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Go to Larry.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Is that a Larry French shout out?
T.R. Mayo
He's the only cameraman I know.
Jay Skeets
That's not true. Shout out to Rick. Shout out to Todd. Of course. Shout out to.
Tas Millis
To.
T.R. Mayo
Of Marcus. For us, too.
Tas Millis
I went to the Braves game yesterday. I didn't know if Todd was on camera somewhere, but I did see an Instagram photo of him just taking a photo of himself at the Brave Stadium yesterday. It's just a. I don't know why Todd just picked a photo of just him looking like. Just me looking at the camera. I don't think that's a great photo, Todd. And where were you? I was looking for you.
Jay Skeets
Hey, who won the race yesterday? At the Braves game.
Tas Millis
Game.
Jay Skeets
The Tool Race.
Tas Millis
Oh, yeah, I tuned out it right at the beginning of the Tool race. Said, oh, tool race is going on.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Millis
I tuned it.
Jay Skeets
Oh, I was most excited for the tour.
Tas Millis
Sorry about that.
Jay Skeets
What's that?
T.R. Mayo
What's the fast guy's name?
Jay Skeets
Well, that's the. The Freeze.
T.R. Mayo
The Freeze.
Jay Skeets
The Freeze.
T.R. Mayo
But I don't have every game.
Jay Skeets
They don't do it.
Tas Millis
They don't do it. Any game he's done.
Jay Skeets
That was a guy where they would get like a normal man.
T.R. Mayo
They hired a new guy, too.
Jay Skeets
I thought they did too, but I
Tas Millis
feel like they do the normal. Another race that you see quite often in baseball stadiums where you go and pick up the base and then run the other way back to the. And you have to do it in 30 seconds. You have back to the warning track kind of thing.
Jay Skeets
The one here in Atlanta. That wasn't the one.
Tas Millis
That was a great one. That was a great one.
Jay Skeets
Get somebody from the crowd, have them line up on the warning track at a certain part. And they got. It got like a 10 second head start or whatever it was. You go and try and get to the finish line. And then they had a professional track athlete called the Freeze. He's like dressed in like a cool, like speed suit. Like almost like a speed skating suit. And then he would obviously always hunt them down and beat them. Most of the time I think he was defeated. Oh, he was once or twice.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
He's lost a few times. He's still around, but he doesn't race every game.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
T.R. Mayo
He's load managing.
Jay Skeets
And then. And the Tool race. I'm talking about big mascots, Home Depot. There's a bucket, there's a drill, there's a paintbrush and a hammer. Yeah, yeah. And shenanigans happen.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Bucket usually comes through, I feel like. But he's having a good year.
T.R. Mayo
The Bucket's playing.
Jay Skeets
But the Bucket does things like he gets to the finish line and then he like turns around. He's like, I'm gonna go beat up on the Hammer Summer. You know, you're like, ah, just get the win, man. Puts it in jeopardy.
T.R. Mayo
I mean. But you can't deny the Bucket versus Hammer feud that's been plaguing us for generations.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, you're right.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Yeah. And then there's that other one in Milwaukee. We had somebody come on our show. Come on. No, Bunce. Who participated. Chris Kirschner participated in that sausage race.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah, that's.
Tas Millis
He was the Italian. The Italian sausage. I guess it's called Brad the brat. Brad first, hot dog, Polish, Italian, and chorizo. I guess they have five.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
Tas Millis
Wow. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
So then they do the presidents in Washington. Yeah, There's a lot of these versions.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
But those are actual races. Like the sausage is actually run, you
Jay Skeets
know, these are bits, planned bits like the Home Depot ones. The Home Depot tools are planned bits.
Tas Millis
No doubt.
Jay Skeets
They're talking about it. All right, all right. Hey, here we go. Drill, you're going to do this. You're going to trip hammer, you know, bucket, you're going to come back, get in and fight. Yeah.
Tas Millis
I don't know about all the sausage races. I don't know every single sausage in his history. His or her history could be women. I don't know them. But I do know in that particular one, Chris Kirschner.
Jay Skeets
It was a race.
Tas Millis
He had to give it.
Jay Skeets
It was a race. It's like, all right, let's see who's got it.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
And I hope to do that, man.
Tas Millis
Yeah. There was applications or there was the position for freeze it.
T.R. Mayo
You could have been the freeze.
Jay Skeets
Yes, I'm that fast.
Tas Millis
We shared it.
Jay Skeets
I'd like to think I could give this freeze a go, but. Yeah, I don't know those guys. That guy's fast.
Tas Millis
He was getting beat, though. She was also a trap. She beat him. There was somebody. She. I don't know her name, but she. She. I would just want to give credit to a one who kicked his ass.
Jay Skeets
Oh, yeah.
Tas Millis
Two years ago, I think.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. There's been some big losses.
Tas Millis
There's been some big losses.
Jay Skeets
I'm not giving credit to people beating him. They get like a 10 second head start on the guy.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
It's amazing. He beats basically everybody 99 of the time.
T.R. Mayo
You think somebody should be bold enough to challenge him.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
We're going for pink slips.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, exactly.
T.R. Mayo
Just me versus you. Oh, that would be starting line to starting line.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. You just keep getting like you're the new freeze.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. Beat the freeze.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
And you get to stay on top.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Freeze of the hill.
Tas Millis
That's the thing that.
Jay Skeets
Holy shit. What a tangent.
Tas Millis
We do a show every day.
T.R. Mayo
Yes.
Tas Millis
We don't do shows on Saturday, Sunday. So we can give people six extra minutes of freeze it talk. The freeze. It also allowed people, you know, that head start. So he was kind of slowing it down at the beginning of his. Of his run because he was allowing the person. He thought, he's a showman, man.
Jay Skeets
He's a showman. I guess he knows, like, all right. I could See this person, I can, I don't need to come out guns blazing to catch them. But sometimes he did, I think.
Tas Millis
New Blazers owner Tom Dunton, he's also a showman. We've talked about, we've talked about him. He's cost cutting all over the place. You know, two way players can't travel in the playoffs. Massage therapists had to check out of their hotels on time. Get out of here. Wanted to pay their head coach Thiago Splitter way less. The reports were that he wanted to pay him in range of 1 to 1.5 million. We talked about that, but that's almost assistant level money. Then we got this report from Evan Cidery this week. He said the Trailblazers are widely expected to move on from Splitter. Dundon is not willing to increase Splitter's current salary. Portland is trying to find a new head coach who will accept being the lowest paid in the NBA as a cost cutting measure. Now that's just a report. And then an anonymous source said this to Jason Quick of the athletic quote, the amount of disrespect towards Splitter that's going on is beyond description. It's like every day a new name is coming up. It's the most vicious thing I've encountered in 30 plus years. Now from the other side, what has Tom done since we started talking about this? Well, he did send two way players to game five in San Antonio. So yeah, basically it's Chris Youngblood, Jason Kent, Caleb Love, just get on the team playing. These are not as.
Jay Skeets
He had some, he had some Delta Sky Miles wanted to use.
Tas Millis
No, no, this is a commercial. It's not a commercial flight man. Just get on the plane. Yeah, he had to pay for their hotels. Oh, so that cost, that cost money. And, and lots of reports showing that this owner who is also owner of the NHL's Carolina Hurricanes is a sort of middle of the pack team salary in hockey. So you know all that coming together is apparently he's starting to. Well either listen to all these people who are extremely angry that he's cost cutting. Can we get our guy Denny Abdia, his therapist in his. Give him his session when he wants to have his session. That kind of thing was happening and the amount of disrespect for these two way players who weren't there. So there's that just to throw that all out there.
Jay Skeets
Okay. The coaching thing is the biggest concern. It is all the other stuff, you know, we have some fun with it but look it's his, his team. He's going to do what he wants to do and cut where he wants to cut. But, like, it's like the one thing in the NBA where you can. There's no rules, really. Right. Like, you can pay a coach $30 million per year or a million dollars per year, but. But generally you're gonna. Usually the more you pay, probably the better coaches you're gonna get. Not all. Not always the case, but, you know, Splitter just being lowballed like this is not great.
Tas Millis
Not a good look and a disservice in the eyes of his players, I'm sure.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's the thing.
Tas Millis
Who. Like this guy. And as Matisse, Thibel also said, he said, you know how on the court at the end of a shot clock, you throw the guy the ball. It's kind of like giving him a grenade, you know, shoot it. That's exactly what Thiago Splitter had to go through Matipa style making the grenade comparison. So, yeah, if you're going to lowball him that hard, literally into assistant dollars level, then that's a negative in the eyes of, number one, his players that played for him, but number two, prospective free agents. And so the timing of this is the strange thing. Why do this now?
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
Why make all these cuts now? So that's where we are. It's not done.
T.R. Mayo
It's not done, Dom.
Tas Millis
That's not done. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
I hate to take this back when
Tas Millis
I say that Tom Dunton. I don't know if it's a Tom Dundon or. Anyway, go on. Baseball.
Jay Skeets
Well, yeah, the only good thing to maybe come from this is we might have a NBA version of Major League, the movie from the 80s.
T.R. Mayo
Oh, cool. Right?
Jay Skeets
I mean, that was sort of the premise of. What I remember was like the owner, the woman took over from her deceased husband or dad or something like that, and then wanted, like, there was a clause, like if they were really bad, that she could get him out of Cleveland.
Tas Millis
That's right.
Jay Skeets
And move them to Miami. There's some similarities here. Like this cost cutting. That's true. Tom Dundon's trying to do. But the Indians were great. Cleveland Indians at the time. They were great with wild things. Yeah. They played pretty well. This will work out for the Blazers.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Or at least a script will be written about that. Yeah.
Tas Millis
I don't. Have there been any rumors of him moving the team? No, no. Okay. Just making sure. Because those things.
Jay Skeets
Just saying if we're writing the script, I think we got to put that in, but.
Tas Millis
Yeah, yeah, I hear you. I Hear. I hear you. Yeah. And he hasn't moved to Carolina Hurricanes who are doing well.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, they seem to be actually very good.
Tas Millis
Yeah, they're very good.
T.R. Mayo
Maybe this guy knows what he's doing.
Tas Millis
Yeah, exactly.
T.R. Mayo
That's what Adam Silver wins in the NHL this season. Oh, they've made the playoffs four straight years, it looks like.
Jay Skeets
Well, conference finals. Tom Dundon hires Lou Brown as head coach. Remember him? The manager in Major League?
Tas Millis
Yeah, that was his name.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Yeah. Big old mustache. Oh, you're cramping.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Oh, okay.
Tas Millis
I didn't know if that was a Lou Brown person.
Jay Skeets
To Lou Brown. Look at this guy. Oh, wow. Look at them.
Tas Millis
Oh, my goodness.
Jay Skeets
Oh, yeah. Where is it? Hammy. Oh, boy. It's a hammy. Boy.
Tas Millis
I thought that was.
Jay Skeets
Get some water in this guy.
T.R. Mayo
So much water.
Jay Skeets
So much water.
Tas Millis
Water. The water doesn't do it.
Jay Skeets
Eh, electrolytes. The water does not do it.
Tas Millis
That's what I've heard. Okay.
Jay Skeets
Okay, we got it. Worst of the week.
T.R. Mayo
I'm just. I'm just. I'm leaning back.
Tas Millis
You just got to lean it back.
T.R. Mayo
I gotta have straight legs.
Jay Skeets
Wow. I gotta have straight Fat Joe style.
T.R. Mayo
I'm Kevin Durant on Fred Van Vleet's podcast for the rest of this episode.
Jay Skeets
That's maybe why he was cramping.
Tas Millis
I thought this was a Bobby Euchre.
Jay Skeets
No, I did think he was doing a Lou Brown impersonation for a second. I was like, wow, that's a weird impersonation.
Tas Millis
Just chilling. But then the. The teeth started a little bit. Okay, third nominee here, the no Dunks fan who complained about ads on YouTube. What? It especially irked our man JD who saw this and said, hey, you're getting a free show now. The comment was, yeah, quote, great episode. I think I was super distracted with the over 36 ads. I had what insane amount of ads for 1 hour and 28 minutes. Hope you all got a nice payday off that spoiler.
Jay Skeets
We did not.
Tas Millis
36 AD sounds like a lot of ads.
Jay Skeets
I mean, I hope that's an exaggeration.
Tas Millis
Hold on.
JD (Super Producer)
How is that an exaggeration? 36 ads.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
JD (Super Producer)
Okay. In 90 minutes of content.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's a lot of ads. J.D. i think he was exactly.
JD (Super Producer)
No, it is. It is not a lot of. That's a normal amount of ads.
Jay Skeets
I watch YouTube all the time. I'm not.
JD (Super Producer)
I don't remember Survivor.
Jay Skeets
Yes.
JD (Super Producer)
Okay. It's. We watched. Well, they're usually 90 minutes.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah, I know. When they're on, they're Called commercials. Yes.
JD (Super Producer)
Yeah, there's. There's a half hour of ads.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
JD (Super Producer)
Literally a half hour of ads.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
JD (Super Producer)
Divide that by two. If there are 30 second ads, that's 60 ads. Right. Okay, so 36 for 90 minute show is nothing for a fucking free show.
Tas Millis
Right, right. That's all.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah, I got you.
Tas Millis
And I don't care.
T.R. Mayo
I.
JD (Super Producer)
Look, I don't like ads either, but I also like having lights on in
T.R. Mayo
here, you know, I do like that.
JD (Super Producer)
It's nice. It's nice.
Jay Skeets
Hey, don't say that. Our lights have been pretty good for the last.
JD (Super Producer)
They've been pretty good.
Jay Skeets
They haven't been shorting out.
Tas Millis
No. Yeah, yeah, new ads. New lights, baby. If the ads are paying for the new lights.
Jay Skeets
I hear you, man.
Tas Millis
I guess also the 36 ads, not to get into the nitty gritty here, but they're probably short ads. You know, we get on YouTube. You could skip. It's a five seconder.
JD (Super Producer)
That's a great point task. You can skip them.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah. The fact that it's annoying
JD (Super Producer)
again, I, I hate ads more than anything. But you know, if you're not gonna pay for the show, then you're gonna have to put up with ads. That's it.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, look, we get a lot of blowback on Spotify too with the ads, like off the top of the show and I guess inserted and at the end. But yeah, we have to make a living. And if you want, and I try and say this as much as possible, if you want ad free episodes of our show, you can get them for $5 a month by joining our substack. I'm just saying. And they're emailed. The show is emailed to you soon after it's posted, like pretty quick. So that is one avenue. If you don't like the ads and none of us do or there's too many for you or whatever, consider that supports the show.
JD (Super Producer)
Yeah, it does. And it is ad free. But it's only the audio version.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I got you. I gotcha.
JD (Super Producer)
But you know, we do the show live, so it's harder to turn it around. I mean, we could do it, but something to explore. Something to explore.
Tas Millis
Well, DD Vilsh base, as your name is here on YouTube. Thanks for watching,
Jay Skeets
but here's your worst of the week.
Tas Millis
Yeah, I didn't include this just so he could mention our substack, but you know.
Jay Skeets
Well, I was always mentioning the substack.
Tas Millis
Yeah, no, you do, you do. Yeah, for sure. But anyways, hope those ads were Good.
T.R. Mayo
Do you want to know how much we made on that episode?
Jay Skeets
Yeah, sure.
Tas Millis
Yeah, Yeah, I do.
Jay Skeets
Because it's going to be embarrassingly long.
T.R. Mayo
We made the nicest number you could possibly.
Jay Skeets
We made 69 cents.
Tas Millis
No, no.
T.R. Mayo
Oh, well, yes, but more as well.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
T.R. Mayo
We made $369.69.69.
Jay Skeets
Oh, geez, we're rich.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
All right.
JD (Super Producer)
Nice.
Tas Millis
Wow.
Jay Skeets
Well, good. I'm glad we had 36 ads in it. Let's crank it up.
T.R. Mayo
Double it.
Jay Skeets
Let's double it, baby. All right. Those are the worst of the week.
Tas Millis
Those are the worst. Worst of the week nominees.
Jay Skeets
What about Frank aola? Yeah, what about Frank? Come on, man. Yeah, doing our guy Kenny beach him dirty like that?
Tas Millis
No, I would never do that.
Jay Skeets
Not you. I said he was.
Tas Millis
Oh, yes, yes. Listen, I. I listened to Kofi's breakdown of Frank Isola versus Kenny Beachum. Yeah, I got my fix. Okay. So I didn't want to. Didn't want to throw him in there because it's. It's just, it's a lot. I mean, we can't talk about something for five minutes? Like what were we going to talk about? A race at the Brave Stadium with the freeze it guy for five minutes? Listen, Frank, guys just not in tune with what's going on in current media. Simple as that.
Jay Skeets
Honestly, it was the best thing. I hate to say it, but it was actually the best thing to happen for Kenny's promotion of his show. Frank Asola saying what he said with celebrity saying, hey, hey, hey, man, come on, relax, man. I always say that because then Kenny clipped it, put it out and had a bunch of people. I'm going, oh, Kenny's got a new show on SiriusXM. That's cool. Yeah, it was basically like a wrestler promo heel turn. Now, I don't know if Frank was actually purposely doing that. Think so. He was more pissed off that his producer was saying, hey, promote this show. Which is also cutting into our show.
T.R. Mayo
Pretty Crazy Mondays just got better cuz we cut an hour of Frank Sola. Can you read this, Frank? That's a savage, funny, savage ad read though. Celebrating good in my book. I like this guy. He gets it. He's great on broadcasts. It's just crazy that that sort of thing still happens in 2026. Like new media is old media at this point.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I'm with you.
Tas Millis
Yes. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Okay. I just want to slip that.
Tas Millis
Yeah, that felt. That felt genuine from Frank I saw. I don't think he was promo.
Jay Skeets
Oh, that's his. I mean, his character, his personality is like that. Yes, he is like that for sure. I'm not condoning it, but yeah, felt real.
Tas Millis
I like Michelle Beetle upset about losing her hour to Stephen A. Smith last year.
Jay Skeets
Oh, right.
Tas Millis
Yeah, right. I felt real. Real.
T.R. Mayo
I forgot about that.
Jay Skeets
I did forget about that.
Tas Millis
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Nobody's taking our hour well.
Jay Skeets
The ads are.
T.R. Mayo
The ads are, but I mean, we made $69.69. Can you imagine making $69.69?
Jay Skeets
Here's a quick ad about a copper bracelet.
Tas Millis
Amazon Health AI presents Painful Thoughts I I can't stop scratching my downtown.
JD (Super Producer)
Mm, yeah, but I'm not itching to
Tas Millis
go downtown and tell a receptionist I'm here to talk about my downtown. Some things you'd rather type than say out loud. There's no question too embarrassing for Amazon Health AI. Chat your symptoms and get virtual care 24. 7 Healthcare just got less painful. Viori makes soft and I'm talking extremely soft clothing. I should know. I bought some before this ad came our way. I was wearing my Viori's and my wife said, what are those? I haven't seen them. I told her. My silky, soft Vuori shorts. Of course, they look super comfortable and they are, but I can go out in these anywhere. They're designed to look great beyond the gym. Whether you're running errands, heading to the office or meeting up with friends, it works for everything. She felt them and she said said, oh, they're like the PJs we buy for our kids. So Viori got my partner's approval just like that. I also told her that Viori is a Finnish word meaning mountain, so I felt as big as a mountain. She didn't really like that, but you'll like this. 2025 MBI Are you gonna vote for Joat Singh? That's the number one item I get right now. Joat Sing.
Jay Skeets
I don't even think I'm eligible to
T.R. Mayo
vote for this guy.
Jay Skeets
Why am I doing of the night? Here's another ad. These are the good ads because it's sponsored by Vince AKA Captain Jazz in the Stream team in honor of Vince's son, Vince writes I actually subscribed to your sub stack from the delivery room when he was born a few months ago. It was the night of the Spurs Thunder NBA Cup. My wife was sleeping just before he was born the next morning and I couldn't rest with it being my first kid. So I tuned in to hear Trey's thoughts on my spurs from the shed. That was the nice the the live from the shed about the Spurs. As a result, you are all very connected to his birth, his son's birth in my mind. Unfortunately, when he was only three weeks old, he had to spend a week with him. He had. We had to spend a week with him in the ICU and your podcast truly helped keep me sane during that very scary time. Thankfully he has made a full recovery and has just started at Normal daycare. If you want to support the organization that helped save Vi's life, Children's Hospital of Richmond, that link will be in the show notes. If it's already not there, it's already there. So go help out. That that's great. That's a good one. Captain Jazz. Thank you for sponsoring. We love it. OG Anunoby gets woah 29 points as the Knicks destroyed the Hawks. OG shot 11 of 14 from the field, 4 of 6 from deep, seven boards, four steals, one block. He did all of that in 27 minutes because that game was over in a hurry. OG man, I gotta say TAs Yep, I feel like a proud father watching OG Anunoby cook right now. Being Raptors fans, obviously.
Tas Millis
Yes, it's cool.
Jay Skeets
I like it.
Tas Millis
I agree. And also extremely healthy. That was the one little ridicule of him when he was traded away by the experts in Toronto. Well, he doesn't play all the games. Well, he's. Is he the healthiest of all the Knicks? I don't know how you comp. Compare health, but he is super, super ready to play every single game, every single possession. Is it trickling down to Mikel Bridges now? Maybe his play. I mean, Mikhail Bridges also plays every game.
T.R. Mayo
He's the healthiest, Nick.
Tas Millis
He's. That's a good way to put it. Yeah. Yeah. But the best skill is not availability. Can we.
T.R. Mayo
Ability is an important ability as well. But this is. Whoa, Boy, make me. Makes me laugh so much now because we do so much preamble to the actual receiver of the wo. Boy that I forget we're even in the same segment until you're like. And it goes to OG Ananobi, by the way.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I almost. I almost got upset with how long this was until you read it and you go, that's nice.
T.R. Mayo
Beautiful.
Tas Millis
Yes, yes.
T.R. Mayo
And Cap and Jazz is here in the stream. Hey, we love that. We love vi Our guy vi our
Jay Skeets
guy Vi for sure. Okay, a little more substack here. It's been a long time since we had a substack founding member to thank, and we do today thank Devin Arnold. Salute to you, good sir. Now, I said, Hey, $5 a month gets you ad free episodes, but you want to be a founding member. You want really, really level up and help your boys out. You get the shout out, you get the T shirt. And we really appreciate it. So thank you, Devin Arnold.
Tas Millis
Thank you, Devin.
Jay Skeets
Thank you, thank you. Thanks, Devin. Okay, before we go with the drop here, rapid fire fun. Trey, you've got the questions. Are you going to be able to manage your way through these with that cramp?
T.R. Mayo
I'm feeling good. This might be my new style.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
JD (Super Producer)
Yeah, just.
T.R. Mayo
We got a long extender arm. I'm laid back with my mind on my money. My money on my rapid fire. Questions. The first one, the Amazon Crew Crew had some fun with Zach Lowe earlier this week with Blake Griffin clowning on him for wearing what Blake called a glowing LED shirt.
Tas Millis
Right, right.
T.R. Mayo
Zach got more aid.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, he did.
T.R. Mayo
It'll happen to you. Tight pattern, interferes with the camera.
Tas Millis
Yep, yep.
T.R. Mayo
Guys, what's a shirt that you wear? That sucks.
Jay Skeets
I love all my shirts. So this was very difficult. So. So I. I came about this a different way in the late 90s, so. Well, before I knew both of you guys actually, I was like Tasso and J.D. i don't even think you ever saw me wear this shirt. I wore a you suck blow me shirt a lot.
Tas Millis
Oh, Here it is.
Jay Skeets
And I found it. I don't have it anymore. I used to wear this shirt a lot in the 90s. This graphic tee for the podcast listener. It's the classic vacuum and then the floor fan, and one saying, you suck, the other saying, blow me. Ha ha. So that's good. Yeah. And in seeing this and doing a little research, I was like, oh, I might buy this shirt. Yeah. Honestly, I was like, I really like the colors of this shirt. So stupid. I don't know what happened to it. I feel like I left it at a cottage or something or. I don't know. It just disappeared. Somebody probably stole it from me.
T.R. Mayo
I've always admired your ability to just abandon an art article of clothing. I know. Just leave it behind.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. It is just stuff. I got enough shirts, but I do miss that one.
T.R. Mayo
Got enough. And you love them all.
Jay Skeets
It's impressive.
T.R. Mayo
Tas, what's a shirt you wear that sucks?
Tas Millis
My Smurf's shirt. It's got armpit stains, and I can't get rid of the armpit stains. But, you know, I argue that the stains are sort of part of Smurfs Village kind of, you know, somehow. Well, they're yellowy. It's got some yellow in sort of.
Jay Skeets
I guess it does.
Tas Millis
Yeah. I'm not going to show you, like, skits. You showed the. The fans in the vacuum. I'm not going to show it to you because it's kind of gross to see no pit stains, But I can't let it go.
T.R. Mayo
Can't let it go. Have you had it for a long time?
Tas Millis
No.
T.R. Mayo
No. Oh, these are fresh.
Tas Millis
Fresh pit stains.
Jay Skeets
Oh, so they garg us.
Tas Millis
Smell the cargo. Smell. Nice. Nice.
T.R. Mayo
That's pretty good. That almost made me cramp up. It was so good, I flexed my leg.
Jay Skeets
Oh, no.
T.R. Mayo
J.D. what's your suckiest shirt?
JD (Super Producer)
Well, I do love most of my shirts. I got a lot of bad ones. This shirt is one that I picked up at Frenchies for all our notes. Nova Scotia people. It's a thrift shop, basically. And this is it. It's a pie, sort of a pirate shirt, and it's got a skull with patch over its eye, pirate hat, Jolly Rogers around, and it says, surrender the booty.
Jay Skeets
Right.
JD (Super Producer)
Little double entendre there. Obviously tasteless. Yes. The problem with the shadow shirt is I got it at Frenchies, so it's one of those things where it's. It's $4. I'm going to pick it up, and I'm going to grow into it. As in it's a large and I'm an xl, so it now belongs to my wow. Lincoln wearing T shirt.
Tas Millis
That's why you get ads DVD RL for that. Nice zoom on.
Jay Skeets
Thank you. It's a cool shirt. He rocks it.
JD (Super Producer)
Well, yeah, he's. He pulls it off.
Jay Skeets
Pulls off all those.
T.R. Mayo
Surrender the booty. Love a shirt with a pun on it.
JD (Super Producer)
Yes.
T.R. Mayo
AMC is releasing a Papa Shot popcorn bucket for the 30 year anniversary of the original Space Jam a little bit later this month. I'll be there.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. You're going to go? Yeah. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
I think Space Jam is longer than I remember, but it's maybe only like night.
Jay Skeets
90 minutes. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
I bet it's gonna be fun to see again. The girls like it.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Okay.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
So, fellas, I need you to describe a popcorn bucket that you would buy.
Jay Skeets
Well, the Mandalorian and Grogu drops soon, right? Three weeks. I want to say it's like mid late May, so, you know, I didn't overthink this. Give me Mando's silver helmet.
T.R. Mayo
Sure.
Jay Skeets
Take it off his head, flip it upside down. You got a popcorn bucket.
T.R. Mayo
Realistic, like he's.
Jay Skeets
That's a cool helmet. It's a cool look. I don't particularly love the Mandalorian, the series. I fell off. I watched it at the beginning. It fell off. But I'll see this, I guess. But I always like the helmet. So it'll be a cool popcorn helmet.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah, the helmets. One of the sweetest things. I haven't watched a single episode of the Mandalorian, but I still want to see this in theaters because there's a Star wars movie in theaters. High five. You feeling jd?
JD (Super Producer)
Very, very lukewarm on this.
Jay Skeets
No, I would say the trailers do not. Wow.
JD (Super Producer)
I. I do like Jon Favreau as a director. So we'll see, we'll see, we'll see. Ash is excited about it.
Tas Millis
No way.
Jay Skeets
What?
JD (Super Producer)
So. Which is infectious. A little bit, you know?
Jay Skeets
Okay.
JD (Super Producer)
So. I mean, I'm gonna go see it, obviously, so.
Jay Skeets
Okay, we'll see.
T.R. Mayo
See you there, there, bucket.
Tas Millis
Me, I need a bowling ball. As a bucket. Like just a full on bowling ball. Great thing about a bowling ball, you can't put it down because it's round. It's. It's not a typical. Typical bucket. So. Yeah, I'm looking forward to that.
Jay Skeets
Maybe. I don't know what anniversary we're at with the Big Lebowski, but that would
T.R. Mayo
be a good soon.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Millis
There was some chatter about watching. I don't know if it's the anniversary but some chatter in my head house about watching the Big Lebowski. That's what got me thinking about having a bowling ball you can never put down. Just put it under your arm, get ready to go.
T.R. Mayo
That's good.
Tas Millis
Yeah. Because you can't screw up the look of a bowling ball. You can screw up these big buckets, but a bowling ball. Safe.
Jay Skeets
Would the. The lid attach then?
Tas Millis
Like, that's a great question.
Jay Skeets
I mean, because. Yeah, it's got to be. Get your hand into it. Unless you're putting your hand through the little three holes to try and get one kernel out of this really big hole.
JD (Super Producer)
Holes.
Tas Millis
We're gonna try and work with that.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Millis
Yeah. See what happens. But I think it'll be a screw off.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Yeah. Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
Screw off. J.D. what's your bucket?
JD (Super Producer)
I'm on my way to the movies right after this show.
Jay Skeets
Oh, yeah? What are you seeing?
JD (Super Producer)
I'm seeing the Devil wears Prada, too.
Jay Skeets
Oh, wow.
Tas Millis
High heel.
Jay Skeets
High heel popcorn bucket.
JD (Super Producer)
Oh, well, that would be kind of gross. No. A shoe.
Jay Skeets
Not if you're Rex Ryan.
Tas Millis
Damn.
JD (Super Producer)
But I. I am hoping to grab one of these. It's a. It's a purse.
Jay Skeets
Jeez. That's even better.
T.R. Mayo
That is pretty nice. It's pretty cool.
Jay Skeets
Wait, this is real?
Tas Millis
This is real.
Jay Skeets
Oh, I didn't.
T.R. Mayo
That's a real one.
Jay Skeets
Oh, that is. That's cool.
JD (Super Producer)
I wonder how big it is.
Jay Skeets
Wonder how much it costs.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. These things are. Cost, like $45, man.
Jay Skeets
Or $50. I feel like they go for.
T.R. Mayo
Have you bought any JD Like a collectible?
Tas Millis
Never.
JD (Super Producer)
Never.
Jay Skeets
Same. No, same.
Tas Millis
I do. And I bring my own popcorn just to save a couple bucks. Like the actual popcorn that's in you.
Jay Skeets
You buy the souvenir, but bring a bag of popcorn and then put it in.
Tas Millis
Save $1.99 or whatever.
Jay Skeets
I'm not even sure that's a good question. Would they. I guess they would. I was going to say no. Would they allow you to even buy said souvenir popcorn bucket without the popcorn in it?
JD (Super Producer)
They would allow value, but it would be the same price.
Jay Skeets
I know. That's what I'm saying.
Tas Millis
Exactly.
Jay Skeets
People do. For sure. Because they probably sell them on people. Like.
JD (Super Producer)
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
I wonder if there's a limited amount you can buy. Yeah, maybe. Can I just go up and say, I will take all of your Devil Wears Prada to souvenir popcorn buckets? I'll take the whole thing, freak.
JD (Super Producer)
You pay the piper. You pick the tune, freak.
T.R. Mayo
Yes, but you have to eat all the popcorn.
Jay Skeets
Oh, wow. They.
T.R. Mayo
They gotta have some sort of regulations against that for resellers.
Tas Millis
That's what I think online.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Yeah. It's just plastic, though.
T.R. Mayo
Just. Just plastic.
Tas Millis
Is that leather? That. That one looks leathery.
Jay Skeets
Don't get butter on that.
T.R. Mayo
Jesus.
Jay Skeets
Buttery leather.
T.R. Mayo
The Run for the Roses. The most exciting two minutes in sports. The fastest two minutes in sports. The greatest two minutes in sports. That's right. The 152nd running of the Kentucky Derby is this Saturday, and I need to know who's gonna win. Fellas, give me your Kentucky Derby pick.
Jay Skeets
I'm telling you right now, Chief Wallaby. Chief is winning the Kentucky Derby. Veteran jockey on the back of that horse. Eight to one odds, I believe. Or it was. I think it's in the 12th spot. I like the positioning on the track. Chief Wallaby for the win this weekend.
T.R. Mayo
Chief Wallaby. Great.
Tas Millis
Might not even be a horse. Might just be a Wallaby. Go, bud. They're pretty fast. You think a Wallaby's faster than a horse?
Jay Skeets
No. No, I don't.
Tas Millis
Wallabies are fast. That's right. No, they're not. Yeah, I will. I think mine's gonna lose, so I'm going with so Happy. Because at the end of it, I'll still be happy.
T.R. Mayo
I'm still happy.
Tas Millis
Just keep on saying we got the.
Jay Skeets
What's the odds on so happy Long shot.
T.R. Mayo
How do you read these?
Jay Skeets
What do you mean?
JD (Super Producer)
I got 15 to 1.
Jay Skeets
15 to 1's not brutal.
Tas Millis
No, but. Yeah. Wallaby's 5 to 1. You said.
Jay Skeets
No, Chief Wallaby was 8 to 1.
Tas Millis
Oh, okay.
Jay Skeets
It was. Yeah. It is. It is.
Tas Millis
So we've never been. We've never been to close by Kentucky.
Jay Skeets
Hold on. So happy. 15 to 1. I didn't see so happy for a second.
Tas Millis
Okay, good luck.
Jay Skeets
J.D. who you taking, man?
JD (Super Producer)
Do they all go at the same time?
Jay Skeets
Yeah,
T.R. Mayo
it's like, qualified.
Jay Skeets
It's a big gate. Big gate. Yeah. It's like, you know, positioning is important.
JD (Super Producer)
Oh, hold on. There's 19 horses. We got a scratch.
Jay Skeets
Well, I thought there was 23 horses. I thought.
Tas Millis
Oh, wow.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Maybe there's some scratches out of date.
JD (Super Producer)
Okay, well, I'm gonna go off this list anyways. Let me. I'm gonna take the favorite. Renegade.
Jay Skeets
Renegade. Four to one.
Tas Millis
Four.
Jay Skeets
I don't think the Renegades are. Sorry. I don't think the favorites done well in the last couple. Kentucky Derby.
Tas Millis
This.
Jay Skeets
This is the year for they're due. Okay. I just want to tell you more about Chief Wallaby. Junior Alvarado is The jockey trainer, Bill Mott. If those names sound familiar, that's because they were the duo that took Sovereignty to the win last year. Year at the Derby in Belmont.
T.R. Mayo
Oh, yeah. I mean, I remember all those names.
Jay Skeets
Yes.
T.R. Mayo
Sovereignty. I knew Sovereignty won last year.
Jay Skeets
Here, here's. Here's the dirty secret in horse racing no one wants to talk about.
T.R. Mayo
It's all the same.
Jay Skeets
The horses don't matter. The horses don't matter. It's the jockeys.
T.R. Mayo
He thinks about the jockey.
Jay Skeets
I am literally talking up my ass right now. But I also.
T.R. Mayo
That sounds good to me.
Jay Skeets
The best availability. No, wait. The best. The best ability is availability for horses, too.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
For horses too.
Tas Millis
Yes.
T.R. Mayo
Hey, you can't win if you don't.
Jay Skeets
You got to be on the line. You got to be on the line to win the Roses. That's the same. Very true.
Tas Millis
Yeah. Why isn't the one that won last year available? Like why they can't win two years in a row. They're just too much tired.
T.R. Mayo
There are like age limits.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
I think they're three years and under or something like that. And then after that they become an old decrepit horse and they just get to go studio.
Jay Skeets
Here's a trivia question from our group of friends who always made sure to watch the Kentucky Derby with their dad.
T.R. Mayo
Atlanta friends. No, no, Toronto friends.
Jay Skeets
He Toronto friend. But Joel McMillan, he seemed like a guy who Kentucky Derby, him and his pops.
T.R. Mayo
A guy that would like a horse.
Tas Millis
Yes.
Jay Skeets
It's over in a hurry. It is.
T.R. Mayo
It's crazy. It's a two minute race, but like the Kentucky Derby extravaganza. I mean, you got to watch for three hours and they'll never tell you when the race is going to happen. And then like suddenly like, oh, they're at the gates. Time to race.
Jay Skeets
There's like big races on the Friday night.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
You know. Yeah.
Tas Millis
It's two full minutes. Is it a lap and a quarter
Jay Skeets
or something or isn't it a mile and a quarter? I think it is. I think that's right.
T.R. Mayo
Mile and a quarter lap, huh? Give me wonder, Dean.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. 20 to 1.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
T.R. Mayo
Looks like perhaps a Japanese backed horse. I don't know.
Tas Millis
Okay, how do you know?
T.R. Mayo
I'm just looking at the. The jockey and the trainer names.
Tas Millis
Oh, okay.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. If we had a horse together as no dunks, what would we call it? And let's say we can't call it no Dunks. That would be good branding.
Tas Millis
It would be.
Jay Skeets
But would we just go, no dun the horse. The wedgie Whisperer or something like that.
T.R. Mayo
Or Wedgie would have to be involved.
Jay Skeets
I think so. And we would, like, put the underwear on our horse and, like, ride it up.
T.R. Mayo
It's a crack. The only horse wearing underwear. We've never seen this before.
Tas Millis
Yeah. Be tough, though. I mean, because the hair. The hair is going to cover it. It's not ideal.
Jay Skeets
You mean like the tail? We'd shave it off. We'd take it off. It's our horse. We can do whatever we want. Are you riding?
T.R. Mayo
You jockeying? I guess.
Jay Skeets
It must fall.
T.R. Mayo
You're probably too big.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I am way too big. I'm not that tiny. Jesus. I'm like twice the size of these guys.
T.R. Mayo
You're like Mr. Beast to Jeff Probst.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, man. Aren't they like four, like, 85 pounds, these guys? And women, like, they're tiny.
Tas Millis
I think we should be the first team to not have a jockey on the horse. Just let it go.
JD (Super Producer)
Let it go.
Tas Millis
See what happens.
T.R. Mayo
Test your theory. Is it about the horse or the jockey? Yeah, it's true.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. That's a bad idea. I'm telling you, it's important.
Tas Millis
Like a carrot to its head. Just go.
Jay Skeets
Okay. All right. That's rapid fire. Not so rapid. That's a crazy episode of the Drop. Hopefully you didn't get 36 ads in this one, but if you did, come on over to substack and get ad free episodes. Link in the show notes. Three more game sixes on tonight. Orlando, Cleveland and the Lakers all trying to close it out. Three other teams trying to give us a game seven, baby on Sunday. You said, you know, we only go five days a week.
Tas Millis
Week.
Jay Skeets
But we got enough likes on this. We might have a weekend podcast brewing here for some of these games tonight in particular. So that's up to you.
T.R. Mayo
That's up to you.
Jay Skeets
Bring the lights, bring the shares, bring the comments. And maybe, maybe, maybe, depending on how these games go tonight, we might have a little podcast Saturday morning. That's all I'm going to say. Yeah, little tease.
Tas Millis
What about you? Going to set a number on the likes or just.
T.R. Mayo
Nope.
Tas Millis
Just like it.
Jay Skeets
Nope, nope. It's all going to be depending on how I feel. And, you know, we get 1 million likes. I'll do something on the Kentucky Derby. I'll go live for the Kentucky Derby and I'll wear a hat. Big old hat. I am wearing a hat right now, but I'll wear a crazy hat.
T.R. Mayo
Derby.
Jay Skeets
That's not a derby hat. You get laughed out of the. Out of the padding.
JD (Super Producer)
Stand.
T.R. Mayo
Okay. The paddock.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. You ever been to a horse race? Like a track?
Tas Millis
Yes, yes.
JD (Super Producer)
Yes.
Jay Skeets
It's fun as hell.
Tas Millis
It is fun.
Jay Skeets
It is fun. Fun day out. We should go. There's got to be one.
Tas Millis
There was some Chitter chatter about an us going to a Kentucky Derby. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Yes, we should.
Tas Millis
You know, Fanduel sponsors the show. I'm sure they've money involved in horse ride because it was through. Not Fanduel, but a previous.
Jay Skeets
Oh.
Tas Millis
If you remember.
Jay Skeets
I remember.
Tas Millis
Yeah, I remember. And we never went. That's a mere how many hours away.
T.R. Mayo
Can't be far.
Jay Skeets
No, it's not far.
Tas Millis
And they do it on a Saturday. It feels like a Sunday race to me.
Jay Skeets
I don't know why. Oh, the Derby. Yeah. Now people were getting excited, I guess. Cole, who's a longtime fan, he'd been saying for weeks that Nuggets Wolves was going to go to seven games because that would have meant the Kentucky Derby would have been on the same day as Game seven with Nicola. Nicola Jokic playing.
T.R. Mayo
He would have been distracted.
Jay Skeets
He would have been distracted.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Or he would have been inspired. I guess. You could flip it around. Sure.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
So. But not happening because the Wolves took care of business.
T.R. Mayo
Yeah. He was probably happy. It's like, well, I mean, bummer we lost, but at least it is a Kentucky Derby.
Jay Skeets
Imagine he had said that. At least I get to watch the Kentucky Derby without the distraction of a Game seven on my mind. Yeah. Good for you, Jokic. All right, we will see you guys maybe at some point this weekend. That's up to you. If not Monday morning here in the classic factory. Until then, Clipper Bros, you heard it here first.
T.R. Mayo
Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys. Awesome.
Tas Millis
Thanks for joining us. And remember, I have to squeeze in something about you leaning back in your chair.
T.R. Mayo
Okay.
Tas Millis
So I saw Ash sent us a slack message to say Shoulder Lean is by Young dro.
Jay Skeets
I know, I know.
Tas Millis
Yeah.
T.R. Mayo
I'm not trying to.
Jay Skeets
I know.
T.R. Mayo
I feel so bad.
Tas Millis
Instead of Young Jock, this is what I said, right?
T.R. Mayo
Young Jockets going down.
Tas Millis
But I did say I could have made a mistake, too. I said Young Jock perform yesterday at the halftime show.
Jay Skeets
But I think you might have the.
Tas Millis
Not seeing any. I'm not seeing any reports.
Jay Skeets
Also, he's not that excited about Mando Ash report. Yeah. Oh, that's not good.
JD (Super Producer)
Right?
Tas Millis
Yeah. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Oh, yeah, right. That's what he's saying. Right. All right, J.D. enjoy an Hathaway. I hope she still has it. And. And we'll see you guys on the weekend or Monday. Embrace the day people

Viori makes soft and I'm talking extremely soft clothing. I should know. I bought some before this ad came our way. I was wearing my Vioris and my wife said, what are those? I haven't seen them. I told her. My silky soft Viori shorts. Of course they look super comfortable, and they are, but I can go out in these anywhere. They're designed to look great beyond the gym. Whether you're running errands, heading to the office or meeting up with friends, it works for everything. She felt them and she said, oh, they're like the PJs we buy for our kids. So Viori got my partner's approval just like that. I also told her that Viori is a Finnish word meaning mountain, so I felt as big as a mountain mountain. She didn't really like that, but you'll like this. For our listeners, Viori is offering 20% off your first purchase. Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host. That is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me. So I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quints has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quint's. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts, one striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable, but still look put together. And the best part is, I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 5050 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quint's works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Head to quince.com nodunks for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. [22:07–38:10]
