There he is. Here we are. Hello to everybody on YouTube. Hello podcast listeners. On today's drop, we are going to hand out some NBA Oscars. Hence the suits and ties. Or hamburger meat. Look at tk. Yeah, showing off the chest hair. Oh my God, he is flowing.
B
A real man shows his plumage.
A
Nice. Tess has another batch of worst of the week nominees. And we've got all your drop staples. But first we got another wedgie. Wedgie. Number 59, Pacers guard cam Jones in Indiana from the corner sticks it. Not Kai Jones. Cam Jones.
B
I remember Kai Jones.
A
Yeah, two different guys, different guys. This is the short guy, this is the short K period Jones. But look at that, 59. We're four away from tying the all time record for wedgies in a season. Will it happen before we even get to the play in tournament week, people are saying yeah, this is like our fifth or sixth wedgie this week.
B
We're flying right now.
A
We had a very quiet week last week, but I got a whole lot to grade on the substack this weekend. I'm going to be writing all night tonight, Mel.
C
I hope you are all right.
A
Jesus, man.
C
This is the modern day record. It's coming right now.
A
Yeah, it's very nice. Uh, let's talk a few games from last night before we get into the NBA Oscars because we do have some fun awards to hand out. Uh, we'll start with SGA scoring 35, breaking Wilts record for consecutive games of 20 plus points or more as the Thunder beat the Celtics. Potential finals preview. Fun game. Missing some guys of course, but 104, 102. Some big shot making down the stretch.
C
Yeah, watching Shade dance out there was very fun. Congrats to him. You couldn't help but watch him in those pink shoes. They're right there, right on the floor. But he was dancing out there. Speaking of another guy who can Dance, I thought A.J. mitchell was really, really good in this one. Getting only his 10th start of the season. We always talk about if Jalen Williams can't come back, can they win the thing? And I know the captain Wiggle is obviously shake Il just Alexander. But I thought AJ Mitchell does such a good job of losing his defender with his wiggle. He's so good at that. Also the assists, his playmaking is kind of underrated. He can do the. The two man game. He set up chat for the alley oop. He can also throw to either corner or up top for the alley oop. So he's got that part of his game. Do you need Jalen Williams? Yes, of course you need Jalen Williams because he's a little bigger than AJ Mitchell. You need his defense. But I don't think we saw this in Belgian Waffle University when he went there. A.J. mitchell's got a big game, man. He is so, so good. Uh, and that was just important, I thought. Yeah. Also Chet's offensive rebound at the end was also very important. When Cho Missoula didn't have a big unfortunately to box him out because they relied on Jalen Brown to hit that tying shot at the other end. They had to go to the other end. They couldn't call a timeout to get kata. So they only had Hauser and Shireman basically 6, 7 as their tallest guy out there on the floor. He gets the board, it's over.
A
But he had the wherewithal to go straight up too. When he grabbed the board, fell into his hand, like, didn't hit him. That was smart. He went big man mode.
B
He was the biggest guy out there. He's got the biggest board, knocked down the free throws. Love to see it.
C
Simple as that.
B
Simple as that. Not simple. Was Shea Gildris Alexander's basket to put him past Wilt Chamberlain. For the record 85 jab fakes. I think on Baylor Baggins pump fake. He didn't even dribble. Just got into his fake, fake, fake, fake, fake. Kind of remind me of a Carmelo Anthony sort of take. And when Baylor didn't know what was going on, popped it over his head. Crowd went crazy. Completely tapped in to the record. That was really good.
A
I felt bad for Baylor Baggins last night. Anytime he was switched up on sga, it was, oh, you're getting cooked, man.
B
Yes. He needed Samwise to carry him home. Samwise Hauser, baby. Yeah. Because Baylor Baggins got cooked on two baskets late by Shea Gildrus Alexander. I love to see Peyton Pritchard, Jalen Brown basically going bucket for bucket with Shay down the stretch. And then Chet makes the big play, knocks down the free throws and couldn't get a good enough look. The Celtics on the other end with
A
Their last shot, that shot that Jalen Brown hit over door, that was insane. I mean, Dort played great defense. That was just like good deep. Better row on that one to. To tie it up before the Chad Holmgren.
C
Yeah.
A
Offensive rebound and free throw.
C
Yeah. Brown versus Dort was just fun to watch. Whether it's a foul call on Dort, you know, it was just a great battle. Those two guys. Yeah. Shay, unfortunately for the Celtics. Yeah, he could. He could kill Shiren. There's no doubt. I thought the best guy was the. The younger, skinnier guy. Hugo Gonzalez at at least closing the gap on Shay. But nobody is stopping Shake. You'll just Alexander right now.
A
No.
B
They're five points on 18 shots. Yeah, that's very efficient. Seven, 13 for 18 from the field. Seven for eight from three. But I agree, Mitchell was huge. And this one, Jalen Williams with the eye, also huge in this one. These guys are great. Stay ready players. We need more from you. They can actually give them more. I thought Pritchard contributed. I thought Gonzalez contributed. Walsh, Ron Harper Jr. Had another good game. These are guys that like, were kind of forced into bigger roles because no Tatum, no Derrick White for the Celtics. And this is why these two teams are at the top of the pyramid. They've got great depth. They know their roles. They play defense. They've played together for years and years. So it's just great to see them touching tips out there.
A
Tips of the pyramid. Yes. Yes. Of course. Not the Shaquille o' Neal hug version.
C
And if this does happen to be a tip to tip in the NBA finals, the Celtics can grab some offensive boards against this Thunder team because the Thunder are. If there's any weakness, they are middle of the pack at defensive rebounding. That's what they are. While the Celtics are fifth. And offensive rebound percentage, they grab, you know, about a third of their misses, and they grab plenty. And this one, 12 in this one. And so you try and wear down chat as a game goes on and hopefully Hartenstein is out for them. Not out out. Playing for them to help them out. But that is something they are lacking to some degree. You know, if there's a weakness, there's. That's a teeny little tiny hole.
A
And the other thing to watch when we get into playoff series is Ken Dort and Caruso actually hit three pointers because they're going to be left and allowed to fire away. They're out there for defensive reasons. I mean, that's their elite. I mean, Caruso was incredible. Felt like he was everywhere. At times in this game, jumping passing lanes and picking things off and going the other way, but one of eight from deep. I thought the three point looked rough from him last night. That shot. He missed a couple brutal ones and then dort only 2 for 8. So you know that's going to be a part. They have other guys, that's the thing. They have Mitchell, they have Isaiah, Joe, I get that. So you can go to them, but you need them for defense. And I think one of the two of them, when you get into the very competitive seven game series, do have to come through in some of these moments. And I think they can. But that was rough and they haven't been all that great from deep.
B
Dort was huge in game five of the Western Conference finals. Is that right? He hit like five threes or something like that against the Wolves so he can get hot for sure. But both Dort and Caruso were being guarded by the center from the Celtics so that that center could help. And they're fine allowing those guys to shoot. But the nice thing for the Thunder is, is if Dord is having a bad game, if Cruz has having a bad game, they can get subbed out. Yeah, everybody plays defense.
A
That's true.
B
That is true. I mean, they're not Dort and Caruso level, but like Wiggins plays hard, Wallace certainly plays hard. They have so many options that they can be down several starters in this game and it's fine.
A
We already talked a lot about Shay's Wilt Chamberlain streak when he tied it. Uh, we did a lot on that on the podcast. Um, people are pointing out like, is it all that impressive? You know, scoring is easier, the pace is easy, faster, three point volume and all that. That's true, but the fact that no other active player has come anywhere close to what SGA has done here is wild. Kawhi Leonard has the second longest active streak of 20 plus.
C
He's at 43 games, the longest of his career.
A
Right. And Kevin Durant, the only 21st century player to even hit half of SGA's mark of 20 plus points, he did that 72 straight. It's just what makes the streak remarkable is the fact that, you know, everyone generally has a bad game or two here or there and he has it in the regular season or somebody just gets injured too, unfortunately. But sga, just, when he plays, he plays enough, gets there. Now I will say I meant to bring this up the last time we talked about it, when he tied it. It is sort of funny. He did have three games in the playoffs where he didn't hit 20 plus points. So it's one of these. We're just going to pretend that doesn't count in terms of the streak of it all because he had a bad game, game one against the Grizzlies. I mean they won still that one. And then he had like a couple other like just quiet games in a couple of the series. I think he had really good finals. I think he always hit 20 in the finals. But anyway, I bring that up. I'm not crapping on the streak here. It's mad consistent. And I love a line from Rob Mahoney I heard on Zach Lowe today, just talking about sga, just marveling at what he's done here and how he's like grown and grown and grown. This is what Rob Mahoney said. It's the portrait of an all time player being drawn in real time. There's a bar right there. And it's true, man, like what he's doing and what he's putting together, especially if they can go back to back and he has another finals MVP look, his name starts going up and up and up the all time ranks too early to like get him anywhere right now in any sort of list. But on his way, I think the
C
most important thing is he's become more efficient as these games have gone on. This is most efficient season of his career by far. His true shooting percentage up to 67%. That's a good chunk better than last year's at 63% or so. So that's, that's a big jump over the last couple years. So he's become more consistent. He does drop the bars there, you know, saying his whole, what he is is consistent. And that's entirely true. Again, super efficient. The efficiency numbers as Trey mentioned there from last night, you could see it out there on the floor. But he's just gotten, he's literally gotten better at it.
A
Let's talk about the other big game from last night. Nuggets coming back from 20 down to beat the Spurs. 1:36,131, no Wembanyama. Trey looked like they were still going to roll the victory. And then here come Jamal Murray and Jokic.
B
Yeah, they had huge games. 31, 20 and 12 for Nicola Jokic. That's a lot of roast beef. That's a lot of taco meat and a triple double for him. And Jamal Murray might have even been better. 39 points. He had seven assists as well. Those two were basically setting up everything for the Nuggets. In this game. But what stuck out to me the most was the bench for Denver was pretty bad in the first half. I think that that is how San Antonio built their lead with Valentunas out there. So the Nuggets get a little bit. They go down by 18 or so. Nuggets get back into it, but then get stretched out again in the third quarter on the starters that time. But in the second half it was small ball for the Denver Nuggets. Valent Junas didn't come off the bench. Jamal Murray was just picking on Mason Plumlee. Everybody was surprised to see that. Yes, he plays occasionally.
C
Yeah.
B
Number 45, Plumley Wemby sitting. So Cornett starting, Plumlee coming off the bench. And it was just put this guy in a pick and roll every single time. And Jamal Murray had his choice of am I going to find a wide open shooter because Plumlee's too slow on the closeouts or am I going to be able to get to the lane or shoot a little jumper over him? So I thought that was key for the Denver Nuggets. Valentunas has been playing less and less for this team. At this point they're really only going to use him for like power matchups. A team like the Houston Rockets where he played a significant amount of minutes. So a short bench for the Nuggets. I think in the second half they only played three guys and that was three minutes for Straw there, five minutes for Tim Hardaway. It was the starters that ultimately won him the game. But that move by Adelman in the second half I thought was key to them getting back into things and getting on a roll going into the fourth quarter.
C
Yeah, and the non Jokic minutes, they didn't get killed. They only lost by three. And that's not bad at all. We saw the last game the night before against the Rockets. They only lost by four when Jokic sat. That's all right because Jokic is that good. They did enough around him. I mean it was all about him. The 30, 20, 10 now the 10th time of his career. That's ridiculous. I saw the stat that it's only been done five times in the last 50 years. Outside of Jokic. How is that? I mean that is obviously at 20 boards, he's just super efficient. Jamal Murray was the guy who got it done offensively. But then, yeah, the trickle down effect came through. I thought Cam Johnson's game the night before was his best game of his season. I wanted to see in back to back situations. Could he bring it? He did. He was Good. He finished with his left hand. He worked well with Jokic in that two man game. He plays well defensively. He splashed a key three. And then Spencer Jones, maybe he was great.
A
He's been so good for them.
C
Maybe it's because he banked home the first three that he shot in this game by accident. Obviously that got him going. But he scored 19 and he was good at, you know, the cuts, getting into the lane and finishing. If you need to just be an outlet pass. And so that's all you need when you're playing with Jokic and Jamal Murray to be that outlet guy. But that's, that's a great win for them. Obviously no Wemby, no Aaron Gordon for Denver. But in a game that the spurs hit seven more threes, you expect the spurs to win. But the Nuggets just came through with their offense.
A
Spencer Jones was not a drafted guy. Right. He came by way of. It was a two way. Yeah, that's pretty amazing. Obviously starting and contributing and he was really big in the second half. But yeah, it was Jamal and Jokic and like does get you excited for the playoffs. You're like, oh yeah, this one. Get ready for these type of games at these type of battles, but really entertaining these, both these games. Other takeaways from last night's mba.
C
Just one cool thing about Wemby is that he sat in the second row, okay, most of the, most of the night. It's not about him, it's about the rest of the team. I'm not playing tonight. I don't have to take the, the number one seat beside the coaches. You guys do your thing.
A
Maybe he sat in the second row so the guy in the second row could actually see the. Or the guy that would have been behind him in the second row could actually see the game. It's like let the, you know, let you guys see here.
B
Courteous.
A
Let's show you the other results from last night. Throw them up. Pistons win, Sons win. Heat win. Giannis played. I think they're one in four since Giannis has been back. Not good. Nuggets as we talked about. Lakers dominant victory over the Bulls. Luca put up a whole bunch of points. Magic 1 in overtime against the Wizards. Hawks extended their win streak to eight straight. Will they ever play a tough team again? I don't know. But the Mavs won and of course the Thunder as we talked about. Any takeaways from those games?
B
I guess the most interesting thing for all of these games because it's basically one good team against one Tank Team is the standings. Philadelphia down to ninth. The Hawks on their win street eight straight beaten up on a cupcake schedule. But that's how you win games. Now they are up to 8th. Gives them two chances in the play. And in Philadelphia just does not look very good right now. Missing their three leading scorers. You mentioned Giannis 31 points. The rest of the starters had 18 combined. Zach Lowe was saying on his podcast he thinks he'll be shut down next week.
A
Yeah.
B
And why is he playing? I mean, he wants to play, but it ain't happening for the Bucks. It was so bad for Milwaukee that Zach and Rob Mahoney ended up just naming Chicago Bulls because the Bucks are down tied with the Bulls now. Yeah, that's bad. And speaking of the Bulls, they got smoked like you said. Means the Lakers are up to third in the Western Conference. That's big time.
A
I think Luca has scored, if my math is right, because he scored 51 last night. Scored 97 points against the Bulls this year. Cause he had a 40. I think he had 46 in the first game.
B
Well,
A
so that was his best game as a Laker in terms of scoring any other.
C
Yeah, and it is wild just because of the. The general narrative around the Lakers is they suck and that they're 41 and 25 and currently third. It just doesn't feel right. Like, want A equals B there in that situation. I will just.
B
Wait a second. Are you saying that A should equal B?
C
Well, yeah. A plus B. You know what I mean? A equals apple. Equals apple. I'm just saying that there's a 41 and 25 team out there that everybody just says they suck.
A
Well, yeah. Cause they have like a net rating of a. Basically 500 team.
C
Yeah. And they can't do anything. But they're third.
A
But they're really good without LeBron.
C
Yeah, I wasn't really referring anything specifically to A and B. Like it wasn't a real mathematical equation. It just doesn't matter. Exactly. As far as other games goes. Yeah. The. The weird thing about the Milwaukee Bucks, as I constantly say when Doc sits Ryan Rollins. Why are you sitting Ryan Rollins? I. I don't get it. He gets out there and he runs the offense when he comes off the bench. It just doesn't make any sense to me. And Doc was just hand on his knees bent over last night, just taking it. I mean, he just. He was done.
A
He's got 10 hips, man.
C
Yeah, he's got bad hips. And he is sad that this is over and maybe this is the last 20 games of his career as a coacher. As a coach, period. Maybe. Maybe it is. But yes, there. Yeah. Janice tried to carry this team, as he always does. On the other side, though, the Miami Heat, you know, they don't have a bunch of their guys. No Hero, no Pal, no Wiggins. Bam. Didn't have a great shooting night. Pelly Larson had a career night. Looking good out there, dropping 28. And we always debate Pelly Larson, sort of that, that piece that could go to the bench because he's been starting all season, basically. And when Hero and Powell are healthy, does he go to the bench? I'm not sure because he is. He is that connector. He doesn't have to shoot, but this was a 28 point game for him where he got it all done and he was a key. Again, they're starting nobody. I mean, Bam. Yeah, he can score 83 points, but sometimes he's not going to have a great game. Otherwise, where are they going to get their scoring? And he was really key to him handling. You can slow it down a little bit. He's not, you know, super athletic guy, but he dropped a three with 28 seconds left to win this thing. So they got seven straight wins. And I just want to note the Atlanta Hawks bench performance because Gabe and Zachary, Ric Sachet, Gabe Vincent, Zachary Sachet, they've got some connection. They work together.
A
Had a good, really good game.
B
Yeah.
C
All because of Gabe. It's nice for him to have a guard that just leads him all the time.
A
That's fair. Just one more thing about the Bucks. I'm sure we're almost done talking about them for the rest of the season, but I want to take a small victory lap on a long time ago saying, are you guys watching what I'm seeing with Miles Turner? This guy cannot move at all anymore. He's had a shit season. It doesn't get talked about it. I mean, it doesn't. This guy, I know he's on an All Star. You got paid a lot of money. Have you seen his stats? We talked about him once.
B
No, he stinks.
A
He stinks.
B
And they're paying him basically $50 million.
A
I know. That's what I'm saying.
B
This is. That's. That's part of the reason that Giannis is going to look at this team and say, I'm out of here. Because they've got the Lillard contract mixed in with Miles Turner. And they did something basically to do something to lure Giannis back. But it's looking like the wrong move for them and the right move for the Pacers, they're like, we can't pay this guy. We saw what happened in the playoffs. He just never had an offensive game that puts him high on the pedestal or in the pecking order for a team. So when it comes to him having to produce, it's just not going to happen. He just not a natural field guy at all.
C
Yeah, he's never really had that. He was just able to bring help bring a Pacer's rotation together and they executed and they got there to the finals and now he's being asked to do a little bit more or he's got a little more pressure. Either way, the numbers are bad in comparison. And Milwaukee does not have that that locker room at all really. I mean, they just don't have any support. So yeah, that John Horst move could be the last one before saying goodbye to Yanis de Kumpo. Really.

We're going to just talk them out. Who's on your short list? Trey, take it away.
B
You want my short list?
A
Sure.
B
I got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Seven games on my short list.
A
Not that short.
B
Shorter than the best picture short list. I guess it is easy AD Thunder versus Nuggets this week.
A
Yes.
B
Jacob just Alexander stepped back three after the Jokic three and one which came after the SGA three which came after the behind the back flagrant foul from Lou Dort. Exquisite stuff. Yep. Couple more Thunder games that I think are in the mix. Thunder vs Rockets double OT opening night ring night. Very enjoyable start to the season. I Would also Throw in Spurs vs Thunder Dec 13, 20205 WEMBY's return came off the bench. This is the first time the spurs beat the Thunder. And it was like, whoa, this might be the start of something here. It's always exciting when Chet and Wemby play each other. These look like the two teams of the future. I mean, the Thunder are a team of the present and the spurs are looking like it as well. But that was a really eye opening one for sure. Bam Adebayo going for 83 points.
A
Yes.
B
A late addition has to be in the mix here because that was very watchable. Very have an opinion on sort of things.
A
It was entertaining.
B
It was entertaining. It was entertaining. If I were going to compare it to one of the best picture nominees this year, Begonia, I think is Bam Adebayo going for 83.
C
Good. I see it.
A
Yeah.
B
You're like, this is cool. I like what I'm seeing here. And then, wow, what a silly ending that was.
F
Yeah.
A
Also sort of gross at times, you know?
B
Sort of gross at times.
A
Absolutely.
B
My last three pistons over the Nuggets, February 3rd, Nuggets, Timberwolves on Christmas was really sweet. And Knicks Cavs on Christmas also sweet. So that's my short list.
A
Okay, that's good. I had a lot of those too. I'm glad you included the two Christmas Day games. That was Brunson leading the big comeback on Christmas against the Cavaliers. 126, 124. And then, you know, it was one of the later games of the day. But jokic with the 56 point triple double against the Wolves in overtime set the all time record, I think Joker did for points in overtime. He had 18. He eclipsed Steph Curry, who did have that. And that was wild too. They were down. They were down massive in overtime. They were down like nine points and ripped off like a whatever 112 run. So I had that one as well in the mix here.
C
Yeah, yeah, that was. Yeah. I debated between that game and Shea finishing off a team with two monster step back threes.
A
Yeah.
C
So that was spectacular. But yeah, I tended to lean towards the final game. On Christmas Day you go to overtime. Usually overtimes are okay. It's fine. Yeah, you know, it's fine. This one ended 27 to 23 in overtime.
B
Just crazy.
C
50 combined points in five minutes. And Jokic fouls out Rudy Gobert, he fouls out Dante DiVincenzo. So it's kind of spectacular on both sides. You finish with those numbers. 56, 16 and 15. Super efficient again. 56 points on just 21 shots from the floor. He's 15 to 21 from the floor, 22 of 23 from the free throw line. And you just ended Christmas perfectly. I didn't have to work the next day. It was great.
A
Yeah, it was awesome.
F
Yeah.
B
Yeah.
A
I have one more to add to your, to your list there. Steph Curry scoring 49 as the warriors beat Wembanyama in the NBA Cup. But that was the fun Draymond Green versus WEMBY game where like the officials, like, kept saying, hey, stop it, cut it out. Remember, they like were jostling for position
B
and then the alley oop, but they
A
didn't count it because I think a
B
whistle was called foul before the shot.
A
And then Fox had a couple of good looks in that game to put them up. He missed twice, but that was an entertaining game and that was like Steph's best game. Anyway, that's a long time ago now.
C
Any Wemby game? I mean, yeah, really, like Spurs, Rockets. I thought, you know him. Shangoon versus Sengun is fun in general, like it is him and Homegren Wemby versus the Celtics. I mean, that was great. Period.
A
What is your winner for best picture? Best game of the season.
B
It's gotta be Thunder Nuggets.
A
Okay. Okay.
B
Maybe the MVP winning game. Certainly an MVP moment for Shay Gilous Alexander. Enough so that people are like, is this guy the best player in the game? Which we'll talk about in not too long. So that's my vote.
C
Okay, yeah, sure. I. I mean, I was. I would lean towards that for sure. The other one, Nuggets Timberwolves on Christmas day, it's more personal. Just nice, Nice way to turn off the TV at the end of Christmas. Quite often at the end of Christmas, you see a fifth, the fifth game and you're tired. You don't want to go for. You don't want to deal with it. It's never super close. This one overtime. And again, overtime was fun.
A
I would give my nomination to the opening night game just to set the tone for the season here where the Thunder get their rings, they put up the banner and then we had an awesome game between the Thunder and the Rockets. Double overtime. That's rare on opening night. I think it was the first time in a very long time, 20 plus years. And yeah, ended with SGA hitting a couple free throws at the end.
C
Good game. Yeah, good game.
A
Can barely remember it because it was so long ago, but in rewatching the highlights, I was like, oh, yeah, this was awesome. What a start to the season. So I'll give it to that one. But some good nominees. And let us know what we missed before we get to the next NBA question here. I want to get everybody's reactions or thoughts on who wins the best Actual picture at the Oscars because we got a lot of movie guys up in the mix here. TK seen every movie. JD's got thumb war. He's seen every movie task. I know you've dabbled with a couple of these. We have, like, a hell of a race here. It feels like this year between Sinners and One Battle After Another with all the nominees. But, tk, who's getting your actual pick for best picture this Sunday night?
B
Well, I think it's good that this feels like a runoff between One Battle After Another and Sinners, because to me, those were the two most exciting movies I saw in theaters. One Battle is the movie I think about more often. I still think about it. I watched it once in the theater, once at home. But Sinners is the only movie I saw this past year in the theater twice. I saw it once by myself. Everybody in the house went to sleep. I said, I'm going to see Sinners. Came back. My dad was in town the next week, and I said, laura, we're going to see Sinners. And she loved it. So I think they also have probably the two best scenes this year. The car chase at the end of One Battle After Another and the history of Music scene from Sinners. I would vote for One Battle After Another because it's the one that sticks with me the most. But I think Sinners was the most thrilled. I've been in a theater for a long time.
A
Jd, where are you going? And we know you're a big Begonia fan, which is an awesome movie.
F
It's my favorite movie of the year.
C
Okay.
F
You know, silly ending notwithstanding.
B
But I said Silly. But I probably should have said Curveball.
F
That's a curveball. Yeah, for sure.
C
Yeah.
A
Sing anymore.
C
Yeah.
F
But I was the most entertained in that movie. I saw that twice in the theater. I saw One Battle twice in the theater, once at home. I saw Sinners only at home, unfortunately, because I was late to that one. I'm with Trey. Although the two scenes that you flagged my least favorite scene in both movies, the car chase and the montage in Sinners. Yeah, I go into it. But anyways, check out some more. But I think I'm leaning One Battle I think is going to win. And so is FanDuel, by the way, minus 500 favorite. Oh, for one battle.
A
Quite a favorite.
F
Sinners plus 300. So.
E
Yeah.
F
Yeah, it's. It's favorite. I don't know how they're coming up with these odds, but
B
precursors somehow. Yeah.
E
Okay.
A
All right. Tess. What? You have a take on this? How many of you seen?
C
I guess that's a. That's an important part of this. I've watched Sinners in Begonia. Okay. Begonia I watched on a plane. I would have rather not, but either way, you don't. You don't want to watch that last part on a plane. Either way, it was a great movie, but I would. Sinners wins for me.
A
Okay.
C
Yeah.
A
Okay. I've seen eight of the 10. I have not seen the Secret Agent or Sentimental Value, and I don't want to. I think I'm leaning towards Sinners as my favorite. In what? I would pick both great movies. I also love Begonia. I thought Hamnet is awesome, too. I mean, I cried like a goddamn baby. Yeah, that's the one in the theater. And it was emotional.
F
I wouldn't. I refuse to see. I was basically crying at the trailer.
B
Yeah, I got the gist.
A
You know what I mean? It's amazing. Train, Train Dreams I loved.
C
Yep.
A
Marty Supremo is very entertaining. A couple of the other ones, I didn't care for the F1 movie and Frankenstein, but anyway, I'm going Sinners. And it has the most nominees, does it not? 16 total. Most ever. So we'll see how many they can take home.
C
All right.
A
Can't wait. I'll say this.
B
F1 was better than Frankenstein.
A
Sure. Yeah, I'm sure. I would agree.
F
I agree with that.
A
Yeah.
B
Too long.
A
Let's go to best Actor. Back to the NBA Oscars. This means best player this season.
C
Yeah. We don't have to go beyond the actual definition of the best actor. It's Shay Gil. Just Alexander, because. Yeah. We don't have to get it twisted. It is about the entire team. It's about the entire movie. It's about the entire production. This guy leads the best National Basketball association team, and right now, it ain't that close.
A
Wouldn't that be best casting?
C
Best casting new award. Yeah, sure, sure, sure. Well, he leads his cast very much. I mean, plus 10.8 net rating, beats the next team by, you know, like, four points. And that's important. You know, that's like 37% better than your next team. So. Numbers suck sometimes. But in this case, I think it is important for a guy who's played the most leads the best team. Done and done.
A
Okay, sga, who do you else do you have as the nominee and who's your winner?
B
For me, the top three nominees are sga, Jokic and Wemby.
A
Me too.
B
I think Shakel just. Alexander clearly has the best team and the best built team around him. Like we've talked about, they've had starters out for the majority of the season and they're still able to have a three game lead on best record in the NBA. He's hit so many clutch shots, he's giving you 20 points automatically every single night. Usually it's more like 30. And he's contributing enough defensively that I put him ahead of Jokic and Wemby. And I think it's very reasonable and worthy that people are considering him the best player in the league right now because it feels like he's going to make every single shot that comes off his finger. He's shooting 55% and the majority of his shots are jumpers, either in the mid range or three pointers when it comes down to clutch time. So for me, SGA best actor this season.
A
Okay. And you've talked recently, Trey, about, you know, his one weakness was maybe the three ball and now it's like his superpower.
B
He's nice at it.
A
Like, oh my God. Yeah, he shoots a good percentage, you know, 38%. Doesn't take a high volume like some of the other guys. But in a clutch situation, he can get that shot anytime he wants that huge step back and has hits how many, you know, big shots, like he's the favorite to win clutch player of the year at this point, I think as well I have sga, but great nominees there. I love these top three right now. Sga, Jokic, Wemby. Now Wemby didn't play last night. As we talked about. He's what, has a couple more games he can miss until he's completely out of the running and wouldn't qualify for of course, MVP or defense player of the year or all NBA. And he's got two more games he maybe is allowed to miss. It's tight.
C
It's close. Yeah.
A
So hopefully, I mean, I just like, I mean, I just hope he gets there. So it's like he's obviously the best defensive player. I just want him to get one of those under his belt here and not for any other reason. Just because he didn't play. Because he plays 63 or 64 games. That would suck. And who would be your fourth and fifth nominees on best actor? Like fill out the ballot here.
B
Yeah, it's tough. Okay, so I do have Kid Cunningham as number four.
A
Okay.
B
I think the responsibility he has for the Pistons and the way they took a step forward when like you really look at the rest of their team, there's hardly anybody else that's able to go out and get their own offense. They lost their second best creator from last season and Dennis Schroeder. They lost their best shooter in Malik Beasley, a forgotten player at this point. Now Duran did take a step forward. That's been huge for this team. But I think it's Cade's mastery of the offense and his clutch time performance that has made the Pistons as good as they are. The fifth slot I do think is a little bit tougher. I have Luka there right now. He's had a really good run here. With LeBron missing some time that we did play last night, the Lakers have been better on the defensive end. Their net rating is slowly but surely, surely climbing up. I think they're 15th. But he's hit or at least been a part of a lot of big plays during clutch time. But I have him just slightly ahead of Kawhi Jalen Brown Maxi. He had a great run for the first 2/3 of the season. Now he's out. The Sixers are struggling. Maybe that shows his value. And Anthony Edwards I think is in the mix for number 5 as well.
A
Agree with those guys selections. Kate and Luca would be there.
C
Yeah, my minor, I have the same as I did last month. It's Kate and Jalen for me. And maybe it's. It's banking on just a better team in Jaylen Brown now. But yeah, it hasn't changed all that much because Shea stays super hot so he's still at the top. You know the, the Wemby Jokic thing, it's at number two is super close. I had Wemby at two last month, but yeah, Kate and Jalen Brown now the 12 teams in the Eastern Conference. Jalen Brown has been ridiculous. No one I, I, I and maybe this is just me jumping on the story here where Jaylen Brown being the number one guy for an entire season wasn't expected to be this good. It just was not. So maybe it's storyline for me but he's got to get some votes.
A
Best supporting actor. Sort of two ways you can approach this one. Just the best secondary player. So obviously not the best guy on his team or even like a best never all star. So where do you want to go with this one? Who are your Nominees?
B
You want my nominees? I got five of them for you. Jalen Duran, I think is a. He is an all star first time this season. I think he's been definitely the number two guy for the Pistons and he's taken a step forward offensively, which I think has really improved their outlook. And he's gotten better defensively as well. That's why they're one of the best defensive teams in the league this season. He was a question mark on that end for a while. Getting lost in space, which is kind of a good movie actually. It's an Alan Rickman joint, I believe. Right. But Jalen Duran, he's taking a step forward. Chet Holmgren, also a first time all Star this season. I think he gets a lot of credit for the Thunder being so good defensively. And the fact that he's such a good shooter allows a guy like Shea to be able to play inside the arc as well. He's been their most reliable second guy. Derek White has to get a mention here as best supporting actor. He is the king of most underrated player right now. You got coaches talking him up as a top five player. You got Joette Mazzulla telling us we don't have access to all the analytics that prove it, but we got access to a lot of analytics and Derrick White ends up very high on those as well. Con knipple, you get a nod here as best supporting player. Probably has the highest approval rating of any player in the NBA right now. Nobody dislikes this guy. Everybody thinks he's awesome. He probably is going to win rookie of the year at this point. People expected him to be good as a role guy and he has been perfect as a role guy, setting the rookie record for three pointers. And the last guy, I'll add, it's a weird one. Almost a double role. Like Michael B. Jordan, James Harden, who was the best player on the Clippers when they stunk, but then they turned it around, right. And he was really good for them. Put it up 25. He's smoke and stack and now that he's on the Cleveland Cavaliers, he's kind of turned back into more of a setup man and a facilitator, fitting in perfectly like he always does. So that's my five. Duran, Chet Harden, Derek White, Concanips.
A
Is he missing anyone?
C
Yeah, you could. It's fun to look at it in so many ways. I do want to ask, what was Joe Missoula talking about that he doesn't have access to analytics?
B
I mean, no, he's saying that us plebs don't have access to the high level analytics that a team like the Celtics does like. So we can check out rapm.com. yeah. And it's like, wow, Derek White is a top 10 player according to Rap Em. But guess what? We got something you've never even heard about. We've got Hawkeye camera tracking that proves his ball movement gets us more shots or whatever.
C
Yeah, they got them all. Brad's got it all. Brad Stevens up there in the front office, they got them all. I would. Yeah, Conka Nipple is a good one. I mean, like Harden, he was the Charlotte Horns best player for a long time this season and they kind of struggled and they got better when Lamelo decided, all right, I'm playing team ball. But Conquer Nipple. Yeah, he's. I, I'd still argue he's probably their best player overall. And to me, I, I got a guy who's a rock for a team in Colin Gillespie. They need him on the court, off the court. I mean he just makes everybody so much better on it. You know, obviously the guys who are at the top in Devin Booker and Dylan Brooks, they get the shots. But Colin Gillespie is just there to keep it all together. Seven threes per game is what he's shooting. He's shooting at 42%. So he's taken the 13th most threes in the NBA this season. Total number. And he's shooting the second highest percentage. That's ridiculous. Only Conquer Nipple shoots a higher percentage. And this guy's just a rock again. On the court. He's an. It feels like we haven't been talking about him for a long time because he was an old college player. So it feels like he's younger, but he's 26 and then off the floor, he's, he's the, he's a leader. I think he does the hard stuff. The real difficult interviews. Like they talked to him about Dylan Brooks and his dui. It was Colin who took the mic and dealt with that. He does all the interview type of stuff. When he was asked About Bam Adebayo's 83, he said, I don't really care. He doesn't care because it's not his team and he's just a team guy. So I just love what he does for that team. He's a key guy.
A
I liked your list. I had a lot of the names you had. I would add Jamal Murray to best supporting actor. He is having an unreal season. He's helped out that Jokic is the better player on his team. But 26 points per game, he's flirting with a 50, 40, 90, 48 and a half percent, 43% from deep. He shoots a lot of threes at a really good percentage this year and 88% at the line. And he just wins them games at times and they're an unbelievable duo. So maybe he's one of those best supporting actors in a movie where you're like, hold on, I thought he was the main actor. What's going on here? And some nights he is. But yeah, as for a winner, who would you pick? It?
B
I would pick Chet.
A
Okay.
B
I think so.
A
Okay, Chet, who would you give it to? Your boy Colin?
C
Yeah, I'd give it to Colin. I mean, yeah, I was going through this and like we did a couple weeks ago when we drafted like underrated players. Like I tried to stay away from the, the Derrick Whites, the Jamal Murray's who's just super duper good finally given an all star game. So. Yeah, depends on how you look at the supporting actor spot.
A
That's exactly right.
C
Yeah.
A
Okay, you're going Colin. I'll go Jalen Duran. I like that how you started this conversation. He was on my short list. I'll give it to him with his impact on the Pistons. Awesome record.

up for free@lenovo.com Pro. Okay. Best Original Screenplay this is your favorite storyline of the season because as we all know this entire thing is scripted. So what's your favorite?
C
I'll swerve here. I mean I think some waves basketball fans have have just gotten back to enjoying basketball a little bit more. Like we don't have to hear broadcasters say analytics say anal analytics say that's a bad shot. They don't say that anymore about mid range shots. That's nice and gone. We don't need to do that anymore. And so you don't hear that, you just can appreciate it a little bit more. You know sometimes we get a bam at a bio night where people are annoyed oh he's passing Kobe, that kind of thing. But I think broadcast production wise like just on court, I think just overall basketball is good again. You know I think that that turn into the NBC world or more Appreciating the history of the game and that type of stuff is just. It's nice as a basketball fan not to have to hear people who don't like the sport as much more. Young former players doing a little X's and O's that kind of thing. So the whole, like there's just some more.
A
You've been a fan of prime coming in with these NBA broadcasts and NBC of course, coming in and having different voices in the space that are uplifting the game a little bit more.
C
I think we all are. I, I think specifically that that whole thing just as far as like, okay, if you, if you don't watch pregame and post game, I mean, that's why I kind of just, I didn't include that as my whole, my whole spiel. But if you just watch games and you just hear the broadcasters, even those guys, even they've gotten younger. We got Wesley Matthews on the broadcast, just guys that, number one appreciate it and again, don't have to see a Jaylen Brown or Shay, Gil Alexander or whoever shoot a mid range shot and say analytics say that stinks. And so it's a little bit just more appreciative of athletes and good athletes. So yeah, the whole thing.
A
Do you have a favorite storyline or nominees?
B
My favorite storyline is the Charlotte Hornets going 23 and 11 in 2026. They turned the corner basically as soon as the calendar flipped over and they've just been a super fun team to watch. It's like all of their young guys suddenly started hitting at the exact right time. LaMelo Ball for me is their best player, but he's definitely helped out by having a real team around him. Brandon Miller being able to stay on the court for the majority of this season. Con Knippel looking like a veteran as soon as he touched foot in the NBA. And then, you know, they upgraded diabate to a starter and it turned out this guy can do more than just offensive rebound though. The offensive rebounding is huge for this team. I think it's cool to see a Hornets team that the only thing we talked about them for the past few years is can Lamelo Ball stay healthy? And listen to Eric Collins making these incredible calls. Now he's making these incredible calls for Lamelo Ball staying on the court and playing winning basketball. So I think everybody's a big Hornets fan this season.
A
Yep. I went back and checked our last NBA Oscars, like who do we have for original screenplay here? Best favorite storyline. We had the Pistons. I took the Pistons because they were like, obviously this team finally gotten it going last year. Finally getting some wins obviously put up a great, great fight in the first round. And pretty, you know, similar here to the Hornets as sort of this now. Oh yeah, they finally maybe turned a corner here. Knipple big part of it. Brandon Miller being healthy and Lamelo being healthy and Charles Lee's got them playing well and that starting lineup is elite. So I had the Hornets too. One other one here. Shout out to our guy Shu. The east versus the west this season, especially most recently. Yes. Let me give you some stats from Shu. Awesome write up on NBA.com so like most seasons, the west was sort of killing the east early in the year. They had an awesome record against them in, you know, conference Play. But since January 20, the east is 82 and 60 against the West. That's a 58% winning clip. So over those 50 plus days, the east has had five of the top six and seven of the top nine records in the league. And this is wild because the west has been the dominant conference for the last like nearly 30 years. It's like 27 years now. Over that stretch, the east has had a winning record just three times. So even though they still have a losing record through Wednesday, this is the east fourth best season in the last 27 years. I can't believe that.
C
It's super close though, right?
A
It's 49%. Yeah. So they're, they're not at 500 yet or over 500. We've only had three times where the east had a winning record against the West. 2223, 0809 and 2122. So anyway, just a fun note there that the east, some of these teams, they've gone on some hot runs here and yeah, some of these west teams are, you know, whatever, hit a little rough patch or for whatever reason. But that's a fun storyline. I went with the Hornets ultimately overall though.
B
Yeah, I mean. But the Hornets also factor into the east, right? They are tenth and they're over 500. You can't say the same about the West. The nine and ten seeds right now are under 500. But it's also kind of weird because I think that the top three title contenders come out of the Western Conference.
A
Yeah, yeah, you know, that's probably fair.
B
Spurs, Thunder and Nuggets would be up there and they probably have the bigger stars in the Western Conference as well. So it's good to see the east at least getting back in the mix competitive wise.
A
Final one, NBA Oscars. Best visual effects, Best play. Slash Highlight. Now, you could probably give me 20 nominees. We love our highlights here. We love dunks. Give me a handful or give me your winner. What do you got?
B
Well, Justin Champagne is number one in dunk score this year.
A
I saw that now. Hey, look.
C
Hey, dunk score.
A
He took off super far.
B
Yeah, he did. Good dunk.
A
He took off very far.
B
Very good.
A
I think he scored very high on the takeoff or whatever distance, I guess in dunk score.
B
Distance and challenge height, I'm sure are huge for him. So that's kind of like checking the box office numbers. They're like, wow, respect. You had a great James Cameron. You really did it with Avatar Fire.
A
Yeah.
B
I was going to say Justin Champagne is the hot Navi.
A
Yeah.
B
Of the NBA. He didn't make my list of nominees, but I simply had to mention it because I checked the dunk score today. My four nominees. Anthony Black's dunk on four Grizzlies.
A
That's my winner.
B
Yeah, that one's pretty cool.
A
Yeah.
B
I would also add in Tyrese Maxey's chase down block against the Golden State Warriors. The Sixers get a bucket really late, but a smart move by the Warriors. They inbound it way up the floor and Maxi just flies up, smacks the ball off the backboard.
A
Very, very cool. Good little defense.
B
Yeah, a little defense there. My personal best play I saw this season, Jalen Smith dunking on Embiid on my anniversary. Third and dunk score. Very nice.
A
Big time. The one Embiid comes over to challenge it.
B
Yeah. And Smith goes like baseline and goes over the top on. I was. I was patting my head after that.
A
You were there? I was there. That's cool. I was there.
B
And my winner, though, my winner for best visual effects, Musa Diabate and Jaylen Duran fighting each other.
A
Oh, what a swerve here.
B
This was the coolest thing that happened this season.
A
That was a legit fight.
B
A legit fight. Two very angry guys that lasted for
A
a couple of months. That was.
B
That was enjoyable.
A
Guys running in, starting back up. Yeah, it was great.
C
Great moment. Great moment to watch basketball. Real fight. Do you think Jalen Duran fought like he didn't know.
A
He.
B
He backed away.
C
Yeah, yeah.
B
He was scared by Diabate because if that guy would have gotten loose.
A
Okay, real fight. No. NBA fight. Yes.
C
Yeah.
A
The most fight.
C
He just. Yeah, he didn't want to get into it, that's for sure.
A
Guys were suspended. I mean, that's the other part.
C
Isaiah Stewart.
A
Yeah.
C
Got the most. You guys called it the, The. The history, the reputation Of Isaiah Stewart got him. But Jalen Duran. Yeah, he ain't about that life. He just didn't want to get into it with diabate. So. Yeah, a good movie, that's for sure. Yeah, very enjoyable. I will say, before I forget, the Anthony Edwards dunk on four guys. Excuse me. Yeah, live. It was. It was fine. It's more about the picture.
A
The photo makes it. Yeah, I mean, it was a good dunk, but. Yeah, I hear you.
C
Yeah, it looked.
A
The photo looks incredible.
C
It does.
A
Oh, four guys are jumping all around him and he throws down. And that's in Europe, right? That one, that game. Is that in.
C
Yeah, it wasn't in Germany. Yeah. Where Anthony Black has spent his youth. So best photo for sure.
A
Yeah.
C
I mean, you can separate this different way. Like, visually, I. I thought just this is a random one. But Jokic was up top. He was being defended. And Gordon cut back door to get into the lane for a 360 alley Oops. And that was just awesome. It was a 50 in the dunk contest. He had a 360.
A
Unless Wade is a judge.
C
Yeah. So that was just. Visually, it just looked cool, you know, a dunker dunking like he can do. So that was. That was great. And it was a pass from Jokic. Again, being defended. Maybe 100 in the dunk score story builder. I liked Anthony Wiggins. Anthony Wiggins. Andrew Wiggins dunking and aloop, game winner in overtime. That was an inbound for Andrew Wiggins. I mean, the story building is great because DeAndre Hunter, who's guarding Andrew Wiggins, was played. Eric Spr played this perfectly. He said, all right, three, four seconds. DeAndre Hunter's just going to forget about playing defense. Andrew Wiggins went in and again an alley oop to finish a game. Pretty cool. So that was one of the many. Many. Like, like we said, there's so many.
A
Oh, yeah.
C
The NBA's also doing a very good job of adapting to kids watching the game. Like, they're just doing so much better game packaging. I'll do a segment on game packaging. Like, they're just. They're just doing such a way better job of giving fans what they want, how they want it. And there's so many clips like, Wemby's been dunked on. Jalen Dern's got to dunk on Wemby. I thought that was.
A
I was gonna say when we could have an entire category just for Wendy.
B
Yes.
A
We're being completely honest.
C
Oh, yeah.
A
He has like seven plays where you're like, like, I'VE never seen something you've never seen before. Yeah.
C
Yeah.
B
Zion's got a nice tip dunk on Wemby, which is cool. I also throw in the mix. Bam. Adebayo dunking on Khalil Ware.
A
Oh, yes. On his own guy. I think, you know, it's more recent, but Anthony Edwards, two hand dunk on the Raptors. And RJ Barrett. Yeah, I mean, I just love a two hand dunk like that. I immediately think of Latrell Sprewell and it looks awesome. And it looked like Jordan, as I said at the time. And then one more for you. Somebody tell me the distance from the opposite end free throw line to the other basket. How long is that? 80ft. About 80ft.
B
94 minus 15.
A
Yeah. Okay.
C
Yeah. But 79.
B
Yep.
C
Yeah. Well, 94 is all the way to the baseline, so it's a few. If we're getting technical. The hard. The Harden pass.
A
The James Harden Elliott.
B
That's nice.
A
Evan Mobley.
C
So good.
A
I mean, that's pretty unreal. And I know Jokic has done one of those before. Throwing it basically that distance that's very, very far. You just do not see that all that often. So that's another one. I'm giving it to Anthony Black on the Forgers lease. That's my pick there. Helped out by the photo. But hey, a poster can sometimes sell a movie. Man, I'm intrigued. I'm like, what's going on in that begonia poster? What the hell is that? I'm gonna watch that movie.
B
I'm gonna watch that movie.
A
All right.
B
Yeah. My winner is Diabate versus Durin. And the Stream team winner appears to be the YIC death stare against blue dork.
A
Wow.
B
I mean, the way his eyes bulges, very. Who's framing Roger Rabbit or who Framed Roger Rabbit? Yeah.
C
Jokic, man, he can sell a movie when he wants to. When he wants to get mad, he gets mad. And so, yeah, he looks different.
A
And then who's your pick ultimately?
C
Best highlight, visual effect. Yeah. Wiggy, give me wiggies. Okay. Yeah, yeah. An inbound buzzer beater in overtime just writes itself.
A
There it is. Those are our NBA Oscars. Always love doing this. Hope you enjoy the actual Oscars on Sunday. I'm sure we'll talk a little on Monday about some of the results. In fact, you know What? We're carving 10 minutes out right now.
B
Wow.
A
Talk about them. Because I'm actually excited to watch this here. Having seen a lot of these movies and having this nice little battle here between these two teams. Two Teams. One battle. That's right.
B
One battle. Two movies. I haven't watched an oscars in, like 20 years.
A
Yeah. Are you. No. You know you won't. Okay. I need to see golden live. I'm sorry.
B
Oh, Huntrix is performing. That's interesting.
A
Okay, and what's the name of the song from Sinners which I actually love? I lied to you.
C
Is it that you lied to me?
A
You lied to me.
B
Yeah.
A
That's a good song. He's performing. So that's pretty cool.
B
Miles Canton, Is it something like that? Yeah.
F
Yeah.
A
Let's take a break. And when we come back, worst of the week nominees.
C

A
Okay, we have done our NBA Oscars, talked a little bit about last night's games, but let's get to a drop staple. It's time for tass's worst of the week.
D
Ladies and gentlemen, the worst of the week.
C
First worst of the week nominee Draymond Green was on Fred Van Vliet's podcast. And this is what he thinks of parents comparing their kids to him.
A
Sometimes parents come up to me and they be like, yo, my son play just like you. And I think to myself, like, yo, son is ass.
C
So that's Draymond talking to Fred Van Vliet and his longtime friend Marquez beaks. I love Fred Van Vliet's laugh. You can hear his laugh. I can't even do it.
A
You were wondering the other day where the PL podcast was.
C
Yeah, that's true. First hit.
A
You said that was Van Vliets.
C
Yeah, that was Van Vlietz.
B
Yeah.
C
I was wondering when the next edition, next episode of friend Van Vliet's podcast was coming up, because I've been wondering, is he coming back to play basketball? And I've heard some rumors that earlier in the season he said, I'm not sure if I'm gonna do the episodes. If I come back. So I'm, you know, I'm trying to put all the pieces together. Okay. Is he not doing an episode? Maybe he's coming back, then he does an episode, still doesn't come back. Who knows? But it took him like, there's like a month between episodes, I think. Big gap. Big gap. But he brought on Draymond Green and he had a good laugh.
A
Are they doing a home and home here? Yeah.
B
Did they tag each other?
A
Yeah. Like. Or is Van Vliet going on Draymond now?
C
Like, good podcast bros would do. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. It's so funny watching Fred's podcast, though. They're just lounging.
B
They're chilling. The most chilling podcast, I think, of any NBA player. I'll never forget Kevin Durant's appearance on that. He was horizontal.
A
Yeah.
B
The way he was recording. So I don't know, maybe they just got gigantic couches or something like that.
C
That's part of it. They got a deep couch.
B
Yeah. Real deep couch.
C
Yeah. Like our friend Ken, when he used to have those deep. Like you. Literally, it's almost uncomfortable.
A
As weird as that sounds, it's almost too deep.
C
Yeah. You know you'd go to Ken's to watch a basketball game.
A
Oh, yeah.
C
You know, you want to be into it.
A
Yeah.
C
Energy is lacking.
B
Way far back. That's.
C
That's where Matt Austin fell asleep watching game seven of the 2010 NBA Finals. Right.
A
But he wasn't even on the couch. He was on the floor. He was on the floor with his little hand in his pocket.
D
Hold on, hold on.
A
What is the worst part of this, though?
C
Okay, well, it's kind of Draymond Green calling out parents in a way.
A
Okay.
C
Right.
A
I mean, this is funny, though.
C
It is funny.
A
He's being self deprecating. He's like, oh, your kid must suck if you're comparing him to me. That's the funny part.
C
Hold on. You want to.
A
You think that's what he's doing? In my opinion.
C
Yeah. Well, he's. He's. He's considering his game interpretation. Well, that. That their kid sucks because. Dream Hungry.
A
Because they could. Yeah.
C
No, just that in general, their kid sucks. I mean, you think he's. He's. He's calling his.
B
I think he is, too.
C
He's calling his own. His own game out. A parent comes up to him, not that good.
A
Proud of, like, hey, my son plays like you, or my daughter plays like you. Meaning what? I take it as like, smart, hard, you know, whatever. But he's like, that's great, but your kid sucks because they probably can't score or shoot or anything like that.
C
Yeah.
B
And he's so certainly thinking, when I was a kid, I was the best scorer on my team. Right. Like, I bet Draymond Green was an awesome offensive player in high school and when he was 10 years old.
A
Yeah, right, right.
B
I mean, he averaged 16 a game his senior year in college. The dude could score. He's an NBA player. You see like a career high for a guy like Luke Kennard averaged 40 a game in high school. So Draymond's like, if your kid can't score when they're young.
A
Yeah. They're not making the league. Yeah. Yeah.
C
Okay. Yeah. All right, well.
A
Well, I'm just glad we got the clip.
B
Hilarious.
C
That's why we need that clip. Another hilarious clip. Nominee number two, here in ESPN studio, Shaquille o' Neal is shooting some threes. That's what they were doing. And then when he made his three, called out his colleagues, our broadcasting friends, Richard Jefferson and Tim Legler, but he didn't call them by their actual names.
A
Jeff Richardson.
C
It's very funny calling Richard Jefferson and Tim Legler, Jeff Richardson and Tom Legler. Just talking trash to them. And he kind of ends it there by saying, we're coming for you. We're going to play two on two. I guess they're planning on some sort of. I don't know if it's a shooting competition. Most likely him and Kenny versus Legler and Richard Jefferson because he named. He threw out a date there as well. So I think they have something on the go.
A
But this came about. Correct me if I'm wrong. Did it not come about because something was set in the broadcast about, like, futile three point shooting or something. And like, you know, you know, that's like, I don't know, like shack shooting threes or something. And then they went to them, obviously, in the studio, and like, the whole thing was like, Kenny's like, he can make one three pointer out of 15 attempts and like, he hit it on his, like, third or fourth shot. It was something like that.
B
Okay.
A
Yeah. Like, that was the crossover of why he was shooting.
C
Okay, so maybe they don't have an event planned. Maybe he's just saying, we'd kick your ass if we did play on March 19th or whatever he said.
A
But here's the real question. When it comes to Shaq, is he being funny here and purposely changing their names or does he maybe think their names are Jeff and Tom? I'm sorry, it's in play.
C
No, no, no, no, no. It's. If you go back on the clip, edit out the part where he says Richard Jefferson's first name. First time he goes, Richard.
A
Okay.
C
Then he corrects himself because he knows what's funnier. So he goes, Jeff and Tom. And he ended on his second attempt.
A
Okay. Oh, second.
C
I think so.
A
Yeah. Okay. I know Kenny had to go run down.
C
Yeah, I think that was number one. Or he rattled. That was a rattler.
A
Yeah.
B
Jeff Richardson is a pretty funny, like, slander nickname for Richard Jefferson. Jefferson.
A
Tom is hilarious.
B
Yeah. He should do like, he should do a smoking stack thing. Jeff Richardson versus Richard Jefferson. He's got a podcast now. He was an early NBA player podcaster, but he also does, like, sit down videos.
C
Comedy background. Right? Yeah.
A
Does he still do that?
C
Yeah, he still does. Yeah. Yeah. There's a fern in between him and the guest. Yeah. There's recent. Recently one went up. All right, last nominee here. It's the camera person in Atlanta that we know so well and close. And it's because the NBA ref, Sheree Mitchell, went down after colliding with this camera person after hitting her head on the camera package, I guess you'd call it, on his back that he's carrying. So she's running down on the sideline right courtside, and she's looking at the play and the camera operator is right there with that huge package on his back. So she goes head first into that package and goes down hard. I do think Shrey Mitchell continued the game after that. She was rattled.
A
They took a break and she was pissed off and rattled. No doubt she smoked it. Yeah. She had no idea it was there and probably shouldn't have been there. And we know this guy. That's Larry. Yeah, that's our good friend Larry.
B
He's been on the podcast.
A
Yeah.
C
Yes, he has.
A
That's Larry French. We love him. He's the best. But yeah, I guess he was filming Jalen Johnson's dad there and either lost track of the time or the game, like pick him back up. And he. Not that he was on the court, but obviously. Yeah, all the equipment is like hanging over there and a ref is going to run right along the baseline anyway or the sideline and just smoked it. I look like I hurt God.
C
Yeah, yeah. Larry was on. And you brought that up that he was on and that he was filming Jalen Johnson's dad when he was on the podcast. He was on no Bunce and he was talking about Al Horford's brother. And that famous scene he was filming that where Al Horford's brother looked at the server in that same arena, One
A
of the cheerleaders handing out candy.
C
Yes, yes.
B
Right.
A
And where the young man was very impressed.
C
Yes.
A
With the candy selection. Yes. Okay, so, Larry, man, wow. Worst of the week.
C
We got to have him back on the show. Yeah. Because. Because where was he on the floor? It was. It was basically running along the sideline. Like he wasn't in the front row. But that's what happens in Atlanta. It's a very Atlanta thing. I mean, you occupy all the space that you can. Like, fans do that. People do that. Like, it happens when you're watching a game in Atlanta. People are almost nearly on the court.
A
Oh, yeah. They're not.
C
They're not like, messing around or anything, but when they get back to their seats, it's like you could be running into an NBA referee with where you're standing.
A
There's not a lot of room on these sidelines, as proven by this. But I'm glad she was okay and obviously continued in the game because she clocked it. I don't think she was even really credibly. Not like, cut open or something. Looks like she hits the corner of whatever. Yeah. The part of the camera or the package, like you said, the kit on the back. But she toughed it out. All right, so those are the three nominees.
C
Yeah. The Bam Adebayo.
A
Ooh, Backlash.
C
Backlash. That was the nominee for. Yeah. People not appreciating it.
A
Well, especially after Spoelster's comments were pretty fun. I mean, we could talk about those. He said he had a very clear message to those that did not like the final minutes, at least of Bam Adebayo's 83 point game. He doesn't care. He said, quote, I apologize to absolutely no one, period. And then he said, I like this part. There was a moment, and when there's a moment in time like that, it's carpe diem. You have to go for it. And that was just thrilling. And I'm honored that we were able to be a part of it. I bring that up because it was something we talked about, like, this idea of, like, okay, yeah, there were some silly moments. The whole fouling right at the end, final two minutes, final three minutes. But, like, his point is, like, he got to, like, 60 plus, and then, of course, 70. It's like, we're doing this. Yep. Let's go. Give it a shot. And they did, and he got it, and he beat. We have to remember he beat Kobe's record. Record in air quotes because it's not the actual record for most points scored in all time. It's Kobe. It's a. It's a legend. I get that.
C
Yeah, you're going.
A
But it is funny.
C
It's a second place record.
A
Yeah.
C
You're not really going.
B
The modern record.
C
Modern.
A
Modern record.
B
That's a good point line, you know.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Hey, the way he said it, I thought was. Was. Was great. And that he was just defending his guy who's put the blood, sweat and tears into that organization for almost a decade. And bam. At a bio and he was saying, you know, he's done that every single game. I think I can stand up for him for one quarter and just try and get to 82 points.
F
He got to 83.
A
Some of the band backlash got a little silly. I'm talking about columnists and, you know, talking heads. I think they went probably too far in layer. Oh, God, my gun. This is the game is done. We're good. Like, okay.
C
Yeah.
A
And people even admitting they didn't even watch the game or even a majority of the game and still having a lot of thoughts on it. That's today's world, I guess.
B
A lot of free throws. But I also did like what Bam said. He's like, if they wanted to stop me from getting the record, they should have doubled me before there was nine minutes left. Yeah.
A
Yes.
C
Yeah.
A
Exactly. There were things we said. Maybe we were. Yeah, because we were watching it. Because we were going nuts in the. In the substack chat. They were watching it all together.
C
Yeah, we were watching another game. And when we were all. All doing the substack together for Celtics and Spurs and we tuned in late in this game and I understand if people were doing that as well, of course, because it wasn't fun to watch a free throw.
A
Anyone not sitting down on whatever night that was Tuesday or Wednesday night going, all right, time for some Wizards Heat action. Unless you were one of the fans of the team.
C
But as far as what they watched,
A
what he got to.
C
Yeah, just appreciate it. But yeah, the free throws at the end, they weren't fun to watch.
A
Okay. I'm saying, though, if you didn't watch it live, that's one thing. If you're going to have an opinion on it, you probably should go at least watch some of the game where he scored 70 points. Fairly normal ethical, whatever the hell we call these things now. He was cooking them.
C
Yeah.
A
They couldn't do anything. He just kept barreling by them, obviously, was hitting threes early and put a lot of pressure on them and they stunk and. Yeah. And then again. Okay, I'm just reiterating what we've already said.
C
It's good. No, it's, It's. It's a good battle to have because there's two sides of this. People who like basketball and then people who are a holes about basketball. You know, people are just like, yeah, that was fun. Like, I scored 80. I was booking a repair person. I told everyone that I have. I'm looking at this unit here in the garage that heats and cools our garage here, our studio. I had a problem with mine. I'm booking somebody to get it in. Somebody. The person on the other end brings up Bam out of bios and says, those people online, they're just. I hated them. They couldn't appreciate someone scoring points. So there's. Yeah, there's two sides and I like that guy and that's why I've hired him.
B
Hired him.
C
That was my test. Did you like Bam? Did you like 80? A guy's surpassing Kobe Bryant. What do you think? How do you think about that? He liked it. So, yeah, I said yes, let's do this.
B
The biggest, like, straight up story I feel like in the NBA this season, that happening. Like, it's the most chatted about thing. Every place you go, every basketball scenario you're in, people are gonna bring it up and have questions about it. Like, it's maybe the most like news breaking thing that's happened since the Luca trade. Probably.
A
Yeah. I mean, I guess there's been a lot of talk about tanking.
B
Yeah. But yeah, I don't think Tass's H Vac guy is asking about tanking.
A
No. You know, no, probably not.
C
Did he? No, he's. He's never. No, he can't install a tank. He wasn't talking tank.
A
Yeah, that's a plumber. Plumbers has a lot of tanking.
B
Yeah, they're only talking about tanking.
A
All right, those are the nominees. Let's hear your pick. I mean, I guess three, four nominees. If we include people that didn't appreciate BAM out of BIOS 83.9. Let's hear from you guys. Who you got for the worst of week? Great bash to us. Well, boy. Whoa, Boy of the night. When we sat down here to start the show, it was sponsored by no one. But a last second sponsorship came through.
B
Last second sponsorship. Top shot hot boy in the stream team today says, can I sponsor an upcoming Woah Boy on Behalf of the World Central Kitchen. They accept many forms of donations. Yes, you can.
A
And you just did.
B
Thank you. Top shot, hot boy.
A
Excellent. Whoa, Boy of the night. I mean, this is a good one. We have look, three real strong nominees to keep the Oscar theme going here. Sga. Of course. Another fantastic game. Jokic, like you guys already said. What do you have? 31, 20 and 12. I'm somehow not giving it to him because I'm going with Luka Scored a season high 51 points in that Lakers win. He shot 17 of 31 from the field, 9 of 14 from deep. That's a lot of threes there for Luka. Eight of nine at the free throw line. So very efficient. Ten boards, nine assists. Nearly had the 50 point triple double. Yep. Move that mouse cursor out of the way there. Three steals and one block in 37 minutes played.
C
You have to get that mouse off that wonderful photo of Luca. That's a good photo of Luca. That's picturesque. You know, you see the tattoo, you see the release of the ball or the handling of the ball. You see their armpit hair. It's a good one.
B
That's putting up some big numbers right now. He's getting himself back into the first team all NBA and MVP ballot sort of mix. And for the first time ever, I think he's actually like trimmed a line on his beard.
A
Looks cleaning up a little.
B
Cleaning it up.
A
Okay.
C
Yeah, he's always just let it go.
A
Pick him tonight. I'm 2 and 7 test. 7 and 2, Trey. 6 and 3. Another L for me last night. Where are we going?
C
Minnesota going into Golden State. Both teams have lost three games in a row. Minnesota favor by six and a half in this one in Golden State. So playing with some points, I don't mind taking Golden State because they can lose by six or less. Well, you guys are riding the Wolves. Gotta win by seven or more. Understandable.
A
They need a win. Understand both these teams do, but Minnesota probably more than the warriors because warriors are sort of where they are. We're in our slot. The Wolves, man, you lose one game or two games or three games in a row, you go from anywhere from three to six in this Western Conference. So, yeah, you're with me, TK Gotta win by seven, though. And you guys basically had this exact same line last night. I took the Thunder. They won, but didn't cover because you guys had the Celtics as dogs.
C
Yeah, the dubs, you know, they. They do want to move up to eighth. So they're not far back from the clippers. At all. They're a game back.
A
Oh, okay. Yeah, that's true. You want two shots and the, and
C
the Blazers are not too far behind them so. Okay, they don't want to go down to 10th either. So they're playing close games even though they don't have everybody.
A
Oh, you're hot right now. You're seven and two.
B
So back to us post games is the opposite of the Timberwolves. That's why I was on Minnesota here. Their last three losses have basically all been blowouts. So they needed one, but they need a big win. I, I felt bad for you, Skeets, because the news came out after we made our pick for yesterday that no Derrick White, no Jason Tatum for the Celtics, very short handed and they still kept it within two. Yeah, I mean sometimes you can't catch a break.
A
Sometimes that's happens more often than not. I feel like next man, a big name or two is out of the lineup and you're like, oh, they're going to kill them. Yeah, NBA has a lot of talented guys and you know, given one game or a more, a more increased role, they can, they can do it and stuff up there. Entertaining game but another loss for me. I'm struggling here in March.

Suited and Crocs.
A
I just. It's a fun visual for us because we can just see your baby blue Crocs underneath the table here. But you look awesome, man.
C
It's.
F
It's just from the. From gut up. That's all that you see.
C
That's all that matter.
A
So you got the questions? We got the answers.
F
Yes, I have the questions this week, guys. We just talked about them. Bam. Out of bio scored 83 points this week, which is amazing, obviously, unless you ask the Internet. Guys, what's your biggest accomplishment that people look at sideways Sketz.
A
Probably that I have. And we have recorded 4,000 plus podcasts. I think some people are, wow, that's impressive. And other people go, wow, you're a loser. A lot of what are you doing? What are you talking about? So yeah, I would, I would go with that. 4000 podcasts as gets a prop.
B
I think we're nearly at 1500 as no dunks. Is that right?
A
Yeah. I mean, no, we're over 1500.
B
Oh, was it 1571?
A
I misremembered 1572 today. And then another thousand as the starters.
C
Starters.
A
And then another with the athletic. Oh, wait, I'm sorry. The basketball Jones.
F
Basketball Jones was over a thousand.
A
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
B
I think we're.
A
I think we're getting close to 4,000, I'm pretty sure. Yeah, yeah.
F
Easily.
A
Anyway. That's. People look at you sideways when you say that.
C
Yeah, yeah.
A
Especially before you tell them it's your job.
F
The first thousand was like.
C
Yeah, that's the thing, right?
F
The first thousand is like, what is a podcast? And now it's like, oh, how pathetic.
A
Now everybody knows.
F
Yeah, Me, you, and everybody else.
A
Yeah, true, true.
F
Dassy.
C
What a swing. I think I can play the recorder pretty well, but people don't like the idea of someone playing a recorder. That's despicable. So when you hear something like this,
A
that's the best you've ever played it. That was nice.
F
That was beautiful.
C
Seriously.
A
Yeah, there's usually. It's a lot more of like a little bit of a wavering. That was clean.
C
That's because that was just one hand. Sometimes when you got to play both hands, play both. You got to go deep, deep in. In the capacity of notes. But listen, Mr. Bonder, Chuck Buck, my grade five elementary school teacher, he had me play the soprano. He had me play the alto. He had me play the tenor and the bass recorder.
B
Yeah, man, I didn't even know that was a thing.
C
I know, I know. When I say that, people are like, what's that, man? Yeah, the bass is awesome. It has a mouth piece on.
B
Well, that looks cool. That looks like it's made of PVC pipe.
C
It does look like a pipe. Like you can knock somebody out.
A
Man group before you go.
C
Yeah, but recorder's lame. Like, you call it a flute, right? Sks. I mean, people do. Yeah, I guess people do a pan flute.
F
No, just pan flute has multiple cylinders.
C
No. Yeah, yeah. No, the flute is different. But the pan flute is different. You're right. But people often call. People don't know what they're talking about. The soprano recorder of.
A
You know what you should take up. I don't even know what it's called. I'm sure one of you guys do. I see Jack Black sometimes play it when he's like on like Conan or I guess like one of the late night shows. It's like, it's like a kid's toy almost. It's like plastic.
B
It's like, almost like it has like A keyboard on it. I don't know what that thing is
A
playing on that thing, but you blow into it and then it like plays some. Yeah. What is that thing called anyway? It makes a cool sound. You never seen this clip of Jack
B
Melodica is what that thing is called. That thing is cool.
C
Yeah, but it sounds better than this.
A
Yeah, it does.
C
Because nobody's got a cool sound.
F
Yeah, but you're hitting keys that are holding the notes. This is. You're using your lips, your tongue and your, you know.
C
You know what's a melodica?
A
Yeah, that's. That's definitely what it is. It makes a crazy sound, man.
C
Brandy and melodic.
A
Have you had.
B
Is this like a. Since fifth grade recorder, like.
C
No, no, no.
B
Oh, you're replacing them?
C
Yeah.
B
If you answer, I would be surprised.
C
No, I replaced it when, you know, Matty O and I did In Memoriams. Okay. I think. I think so.
A
You got a good one. So that's from the basketball.
B
Nice one.
A
From the Basketball Jones days. Because that's when we first did it.
C
Oh, I don't know.
A
Yeah, it is. That's a good question.
C
You did.
F
My Heart Will Go.
A
That's right.
C
Oh, that was great.
A
Yeah.
C
Yeah. I still have those notes. Yeah. Matt writing down the notes of My Heart Will Go On.
A
Beautiful.
C
I still still think about it. Still play it.
F
Bringing a tear to my eye just thinking about it right now.
A
You should perform at the Oscars on Sunday.
F
I think you should.
A
Okay.
F
Trey, what's your biggest accomplishment that people look at sideways?
B
I won a nationwide inventing contest when I was in kindergarten and I didn't really invent anything.
A
Come on, don't be so hurt. No.
B
You want to know what it was?
F
Yeah.
B
I had to come up with a concept. It was called the Ultra Eye Drop Gun. And all it was was a squirt gun with a. I had to make a non functioning model. A squirt gun with a viewfinder on top of it.
A
Right.
B
Tied to it with like a piece of metal. There's no way this thing would actually work, but they're like, wow.
A
The thought is pretty impressive.
B
Thanks, man.
A
I get why you were there at the end.
B
Well, yeah, thanks. You know, I guess 35 years ahead of my time. They still haven't made one yet. They're still trying to figure out the perfect technology. How can you watch the viewfinder, which is now obsolete, while squirting eyedrops in your eyes?
C
Right.
B
We still don't know. People are still working the problem out.
C
It's good.
A
We do Sort of still use a viewfinder when we go to the optometrist and you do that one thing where you're like, hey, look at that cool farm in the distance.
B
That's a great point.
A
I'm about that red bar, whatever, down the laneway. I love looking at, at that.
F
When it snaps into focus, it's very satisfying.
A
Do you always think love? You always think, are they going to change it one of these times? There's going to be like a little horse.
C
Yeah.
A
You know, add something to it. Really test us. Never. It's always the same. But like a viewfinder.
C
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A
A little bit.
C
Great.
F
All right, next one. After deep scientific discussion this week, we determined that ice cream is officially good for you again. Yes. Guys, what's your ultimate? I know this is bad for me, but I'm eating it anyway.
C
Comfort food.
A
Skeets, it's bacon. Yeah, Bacon, man. Bacon's bacon is the greatest thing, but I'm sure it's killing me, you know, it's like at our. In our house now. It's like it's a goddamn treat if bacon's being made. Because, you know Nora, for health reasons, like, she knows I would eat it all the time and, and she likes it too. Everybody likes. Well, most people like bacon, but, you know, maybe not the one healthiest thing, but God, it's good, man. So that's like a special treat.
F
You know, I know vegetarians that eat bacon. Like, it's their one thing they just can't get.
C
Really?
A
Yeah. The smell of bacon.
B
Yeah, yeah, I'm in.
A
I'm in on bacon. Good.
C
That's.
B
Wait, that's not my answer too.
C
I had breakfast for dinner last night
A
and I love that. Love that task.
C
I'm not usually a bacon fan. You have scrambled eggs. Yes, a. A bacon.
A
Yes.
C
I'm not really a bacon guy, but I don't know, it's. It's easier to eat at dinner, like 18 or 10 hours after breakfast.
A
You have toast?
C
No, no, no toast. Low, low on the carbs.
B
Just bacon and eggs. So that's.
C
Oh, pancakes. Pancakes. My bad.
A
Pancakes.
C
Yeah, yeah.
A
Bacon on waffles or pancakes? Let's go.
C
Yes.
A
A little sweet. A little salt. Come on, come out.
C
Little maple syrup on that bacon. Why not?
F
Of course.
B
And if the, if the maple syrup touches the eggs, that's fine.
A
Totally fine. It's not a problem.
B
Not a big deal.
F
Touch task. What's your ultimate. I know this is bad for me, but I'm eating it anyway.
C
Comfort food, it's Potato chips, just in general, you know, I can get around it. I'll eat a little earlier in the day because I'll digest it before the night. That's how food works. Right? I'll just. I'll just load them. Any potato chip. Maybe I'll think about some good oil on it instead of a classic vegetable oil. Whatever. I'll say, oh, this is. These are avocado ones are a little healthier or whatever. But just overall, when I need a snack, it's just a hot pot. It's those, man.
A
That's my go to snack, too.
B
Chips.
C
Hell, yeah.
A
Potato chips.
B
Chips are good. Like a plain. Like a classic.
A
I'll eat. I'm sort of Italian. I'll eat any sort of chip.
B
Any chip.
A
I love a chip. I'm a salty snack guy over a sweet salt snack guy.
B
We had a little bag of just lays, you know, like a snack size one. And Laura's like, are you ever gonna eat these? I was like, yeah, of course I'll eat those. They're chips. You've been saying that since December. I was like, okay. She's like, they expired in December. So, like, fine, I'll eat them right now. Yeah, Yeah, I ate them yesterday. Chips, exactly. Maybe.
A
Maybe they're like not as fresh, of course, as they could be, but they
B
were 90 as crisp.
C
Yeah.
A
I didn't care.
C
Yeah. Lace has improved their packaging, too. Just the images on the. A regular. The regular Lace.
B
Okay.
C
Yeah. It's just it. It's like old school potato instead of just. It's like, it's like. You're right, it is.
B
They did all those commercials at the super bowl and you had to like,
A
you did your whole Lace challenge.
B
I forgot about that. The 72 hour challenge. They're like, we'll go from potato to chip to your door in less than 72 hours. Scan the code. I did. And they sent it in like a box that looked like a potato box. It was so cool.
C
Yeah.
A
Shout out to all the potato farmers. Yeah.
B
Friday fries. It's all because of you guys.
C
Shout out to Mo.
B
Big shout out to Mo.
F
Yeah. God damn. I wish my wife would ride my ass to eat some chips.
B
Eat these chips already. Eat these expired chips. That's something for me.
E
Yeah.
B
Bad for me, but I'm eating it anyway. Expired food. I don't think it's that bad for you. It makes your stomach stronger.
A
Actually.
B
My answer, though, was going to be plate of nachos. Whether a poor man's version at home where you're just sprinkling some sad cheese on the crumbs that are left over in your bag of choice chips all the way to the King's Crown Nachos in Toronto. It's nice to order a plate of chose for your friends, share them together, cover it with jalapenos. Oh, man. A dipper bowl on the side. I love a plate of chos.
F
Yeah, man.
A
Even. Even. Even the shittiest plate of nachos are still pretty good.
B
Yep.
A
Still don't sell.
B
I think the worst one I eat regularly is when we're out of shredded cheese, but we got sliced cheese and I'm just like. Especially when it's American cheese.
A
That.
B
That doesn't feel good. But it tastes good.
A
It does.
C
Yeah, it does. Since you brought up Rachel getting on you about eating potato chips, J.D. yeah. This ties into me wondering about your protein shakes you've got in your fridge there. Are you consuming those? Because it's a milkshake and it can, man.
F
I do not. I don't consume. Assume. I got. I got two adolescents.
A
They're bulking.
C
Okay. Yeah. I was just curious.
F
I don't touch those.
C
I was curious just about a protein shake in a can.
F
Oh, yeah, yeah.
C
That's like. That's milk in a can. And that just feels weird, man.
F
I know.
C
You know, I'd rather have a protein shake out of a carton.
A
It's more milk. Like.
F
Yeah, I think it lasts longer if it's in a can.
C
Yeah, I think so.
F
I think.
C
Yeah. So I just wanted to know the flavor. So second, be.
F
Help yourself to one test.
C
30 grams. 30 grams of skim milk? Oh, I don't know, man. Out of a can, just.
A
All right, we'll put it in a glass for you.
F
Okay, Last one here, guys. Vin Diesel posted a video of himself. This is for my fast friends over there. Here he is. He's saying something asinine, but he appeared to be working on a script.
A
Right.
F
Hopefully the script too fast 11.
C
Wow.
F
But let's have a look at these. This font that he's got on his computer. It's like a Thousand Point Courier, I think. Vin, I think you might need some reading glasses. I'm sorry to tell you guys. What's something that tells me you're getting old without actually telling me you're getting old? Skeets.
A
Yeah. Let me reenact it for you. Yes, Server. Server, yes, over here, please. Yeah, is there any chance we could turn the volume down here in the restaurant just a little bit? I'm really having a tough time Hearing my friends talk to me. Yeah, man, that is a. That's how you're getting too old. I'm not too bad yet. On the, you know, I can't see this menu. Can we crank the lights up? But I just like the loudness of places now. Get to me. And that's getting old.
B
That is getting old.
C
Yeah.
F
So you've done that move.
A
I've never done that.
F
Yeah.
A
But I'm definitely going, God damn, it's loud in here.
B
I wish somebody would ask about it.
A
Yeah, exactly. I hope there's someone older in here with no shame to ask to turn it down. But that is definitely me. As it gets worse and worse.
F
Yeah, I'm the same.
C
Yeah, I hear that. Unfortunately, my pick is my sneezes are getting louder. Yes, that happens.
A
Could you ask that guy over by me to turn down his sneezes, please? They're quite loud.
C
They're huge. And now that doesn't really factor into why. I don't know why. After every one of our shows, it's about 10 or 15 minutes after I've got a sneeze in me. Like I literally sneeze about 10, 15 minutes after each of our shows. And that's not why I hold it in. I, I keep those in. It's not because of my sneeze are getting louder. It's just I don't, I don't want to spit. I don't want to deal with it. I'd just rather keep it in my head and rattle my brain around a little bit. So.
A
Yeah, but you're actually, you're saying something I never thought of. So you think that the older you get, the louder I think so sneezes get for everybody. I don't. I hadn't thought of it.
F
Yeah, me neither.
A
I mean, my grandpa sneezes loud as. You're not wrong.
F
Nobody sneezes louder than Rachel. Trey is pretty close.
A
Yeah, thanks. Yeah, there are exceptions for sure.
C
Yeah, we hear. We can hear it in here in the studio from time to time.
F
You know what I mean?
A
She hits a high pitch almost. Yeah, Yeah.
C
I swear. I think people do. Her ears get bigger and noses get bigger.
A
Your noses get bigger. More power and sense.
C
Yeah,
F
try.
B
I wake up in the middle of the night to pee now.
C
Welcome to the club. Yeah, Yeah.
B
I used to just sleep through the whole night, but now it's like, guaranteed I'm going to wake up at 3am
A
oh, you're like middle of the night,
B
do a quick pee and go back to bed. I literally told My mom, who by definition is older than me, like, yeah, I wake up and pee in the middle of night now. She goes, okay, old man. It's like, geez, Mom.
C
Yeah.
A
How dare you? I'm on one hand. That's good. You're probably drinking a lot of water. Like, you're staying hydrated. Yeah, yeah. So that's good.
B
Yeah.
A
But hold.
C
It sucks. So. Yeah, it does suck.
B
My urethra is weakening.
A
Yeah.
F
Yeah.
C
Well, can you get the urethra strengthening surgery? It's not that.
F
It's. Your bladder is getting. Your prostate is getting big.
B
That's all I'm worried about that.
A
Jd, do you wake up in the middle of night to pee? Yeah. Yeah. Because you're a big guy. You can't even go on like a three hour flight without getting up.
F
That's exactly right.
C
Yeah.
E
Yeah.
F
So it's. Yeah, yeah. I've sometimes in the past I've like purposefully dehydrated myself before bed, which is a terrible idea. But it gets you through the night. But then it's just like. Yeah.
A
Are you at least good at like, coming back to bed and going right to sleep?
C
Nope.
A
Oh, that sucks.
B
I am. For me, it's almost like I'll be tossing and turning and I think it's my body just waking me up. Go pee, man. And I go pee. I'm like, ah, so nice.
A
Empty. Nice. Finally empty. But then you come back and you're zonked out right away.
C
Yeah.
A
Yeah. So not you, jd. You struggle. Oh, that would suck.
C
Have you ever pulled the Le? Alice P. Method?
A
The lep?
B
Oh, the middle of the night. Why? Like, like, I certainly tried it once. Leaf kept us to the ways he does it.
A
For those that don't know, the leaf is mount the toilet, sit down on the toilet facing the tank and pee AC Slater style.
E
Yes.
A
And he did always say it happened during. Usually he would do it during the middle of the night to make less noise or less commotion. Less noise is right. I think he said he maybe did in the dark too. Did he not?
C
Yeah, yeah, there was something like.
A
About that.
C
Yeah. I guess he didn't want to wake up. I don't know, somebody, Roxy, the kids or something. Logically, it doesn't really make sense. Like light turn on. I get it.
B
Yes.
C
Yeah.
B
And I can actually see the stream would be difference.
A
Yeah. You sitting down is gonna be quieter.
C
Yeah. I don't know why. Why mount it that way? Why not just sit and pee?
B
That's the unknown part.
F
I mean, you'd have to be completely nude from the waist down.
C
Right.
F
Otherwise.
C
We talked about this too.
A
Yeah. What do you do if you're wearing
B
at least to the ankles?
C
Yeah. You got to, like, squat.
A
And then we talked about. I mean, isn't it. It's unsanitary. It feels like if. If there's the underwear. Yeah. There's so many questions.
B
It is fun to do, though, occasionally.
A
I tried it too. When he brought it up. You got to check. It was insane.
C
Try it.
B
I'll give it another run tonight.
A
I just always think of, like, oh, I'm so tired. You know, I'm so tired. I need to put my head down while I pee. Get like, get a couple more winks in here. Just while I'm here.
F
You never said it would feel nice and cool. I suppose.
C
Yes.
A
Just imagine someone walking in on you.
C
Yeah.
F
Yeah.
A
What do you doing, man? You got to be like, you got to do that.
F
Look, you're having your way with a toilet.
B
Buns out. Just two buns sitting right on the top.
A
I've started.
B
My new year's resolution was to use my fly hole more this year.
A
Okay.
B
And I'm also. I'm worried about people noticing that you're going.
C
Yeah.
B
Going through the hole. Yeah.
A
You're worried that they are going to
C
notice
A
people been going through the hole for.
B
I know, I know. I feel like it's very nostalgic to me. Like, hey, don't forget about this hole. It's there for a reason. But I think it does scream weirdo to me every time I do it. Like, I gotta think about it so much. I don't think people will notice. But I do appreciate doing it in private more than in public. But if you're committed to it, you gotta do it in a public space.
A
Yeah. Yeah, you do.
B
So give it a shot. I look a lot of methods out there.
F
Yeah.
A
And lippy just to put a button on that. I mean, the best part was remember when Larry David and curb your enthusiasm did a whole thing on the leap? Basically. That was amazing.
C
It's crazy.
A
Were they fans of the show?
C
Might have been.
A
Who knows? Who knows? All right. That's rapid fire. Not so rapid. It's like the Oscars, man goes long. Don't worry. You were entertained.
B
I like, still with the here in the stream team. Says why front? Why not?
A
Yeah, why not? Was always his answer. Why do you do that? Why would you mount the toilet and pee facing the tank? Oh, why not?
C
Yeah.
A
I can't. I have no counter to that. Good point. Okay. Founding member shout out. Yeah, they keep coming. You guys keep supporting the boys on Substack. Some of you, the founding member role, you get a T shirt and you get a shout out like Jonathan Lewis. Let's give it up for Jonathan Lewis. Yes. Yeah. Oh, look, it's like the Oscars right here. We're on the red carpet. Yes. Jonathan, Jonathan, have you ever mounted your toilet facing forward, looking at the tank and taking a piss? Somebody asked that tonight on the. On the red carpet or Sunday on the red carpet. Who's got the guts to ask? Leonardo DiCaprio, have you ever done the leaping picaprio? I thought I'd say that. Tim.
B
A peak chalamet.
A
Thank you, Jonathan Lewis. And thank you to everybody that has subscribed, whether you're a founding member or just, you know, a monthly subscription. We do appreciate it. We got a new what what we like our links and recommendations coming up. Coming soon this afternoon. So reminder, if anybody hasn't written one yet, get your links and your reos in. Have you got one in there yet?
C
Thanks. You know I have now.
A
Okay, I did mine.
C
Morning.
A
I had forgotten.
B
You're gonna put in the bass recorder perhaps.
A
Oh, do it.
B
Get you a bass recorder.
C
Bas recorder. Oh, I gotta get myself one. Love that thing.
B
That'd be a great like funny birthday gift or something.
C
Yeah. Are you listening, Danielle? That's a difficult annual. Thing is, don't you find it hard, you know, at this point, wife asks you, oh, I gotta get you.
B
Oh God, you gotta pay so much attention throughout the year.
C
Yeah.
B
Put in your notes app notes.
C
Exactly.
A
All right, Jordan, that is the drop podcast had to some fun with the NBA Oscars. Hope you guys enjoyed it. If you did hit the like button. Subscribe five star ratings and reviews. You can leave your comments on Spotify too. Saw a lot of people in the Spotify comments giving you some love on your coloring work yesterday.
B
People like to see a hand drawn piece of work.
A
Yeah. And you. I mean I'm probably going to lose pick them here. Let's be honest here. I'm in quite a hole. Okay, I could come back but we got some record or some suggestions coming in for the next pick and payoff. I do like it's, it's. I don't know if it's like, oh my God, what a punishment. But the loser having to paint the entire show and then maybe a reveal at the end would be very funny.
B
It would be very funny.
A
I'm sort of a nuisance, I guess. If, if it were me, I'D just be painting, I guess. Painting you guys, I would imagine.
B
Yeah.
A
Like an easel here. Like.
B
Yeah, like a scene of the show.
A
Yeah.
B
We're sitting at the table or something.
A
But we can like amp it up to like. We could either go Bob Ross style, you know, get a huge fro in the outfit or just like classic painter style outfit. I think there's something there. I think we gotta add it to the list of one to do for sure.
C
Mm.
A
And then what's the other one? Maybe eat an onion like an apple. Yeah, I've actually done that. Sucked.
B
Yeah, Sucked would not be good.
A
It sucked in 1998. I'm sure it still sucks now.
B
The spores are still there.
A
Yeah. Yeah. So anyway, great suggestions. Keep them coming for pick a payoff. We will see you guys on Monday. We will talk 10 minutes about the Oscars and then do a bunch of NBA weekend winners and losers. Hope to see you then. Clipper Bros. You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
B
Awesome.
C
Thanks for joining us. And remember, keep those suggestions coming in for our pick and payoff for March.
A
You know, it's just great to have a batch.
C
We gotta put them in our notes. Gotta put them in the notes. Gonna include that in the birthday gifts and. No. And the pick and payoffs. Separate note, separate note. Are you excited about painting?
E
Yeah.
A
