There he is. Here we are. Hello to everybody on YouTube. Happy Friday. Hit the like button. Subscribe. Podcast listeners, we love you too. We love you so much. Five star ratings and reviews. If you love us, let's just get right into it, okay? Josh Hart scored a playoff. Career high 26 points. And Jalen Brunson had 19 points and 14 assists as the Knicks moved halfway to their first NBA Finals appearance since 1999, beating the Cavs 109 to 93 last night. Trey, this was the Knicks ninth straight win. They are rolling here in the playoffs. Where do you want to start? Do we begin with Josh Hart?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, sure. Begin with Josh Hart. He was the big game player on this one. Started out one for five from three. Cavs are still in the game at this point. Made one near the end of the first half and then went 3 for 3 in that third quarter when things really turned into a blowout. An 18 to 0 run for the Knicks in game two. I think the right strategy play from the Cavs, leave them open, tell him to make shots. He'd been cold shooting throughout the playoffs. But it is weird when you go and look at his regular season stats and you're like you're leaving a 40% three point shooter open. Yeah, I don't know.
Jay Skeets (Host)
This is not a Sar Thompson.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
This is not a Sar Thompson. You could have changed things up. That being said, I do think it's probably the smartest move because to me, the Cavs didn't lose this game on the defensive end. They lost it on the offensive end. First half, 6 of 21 from 3. They got a ton of good looks. Sam Merrill seemed like he was open every second he was on the court in the second half, just 3 of 14 from three. Not to mention as they're trying to make a run in the fourth quarter. Just could not make a free throw. Nine missed free throws in the second half for Cleveland. Mobley only took two shots after the first quarter. James Harden scored two points in the second half. You look at the box score. Cavs turn the ball over eight times. That's awesome. They won the offensive rebounding battle in this one. That's awesome. But they scored 93 points.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I can't shoot.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You can't shoot. They could not shoot last night. I got to think, is it the curse of Danhausen?
Jay Skeets (Host)
He's on board.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's on board.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You've come around.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's got the power apparently. But yeah, I thought the Cavs just were bricking away even though they were getting good looks. Meanwhile, the Knicks are pretty awesome. You know, nine straight wins. Like you're saying in the Atlanta series, in the Philadelphia series, it was Towns in the high post distributing, acting as the playmaking hub coming into this series. Mike Brown said, that's probably not going to be the way we have to play Things because of the Cavs size in the front court. So it's turned back into more of a Brunson series. And he just made the right play all last night when they would double him, when they would hedge. He gets off the ball early, ping ping, ping, ping ping. Finds it to whoever needs to score. So I thought Bridges was good scoring on the break. Anytime there was an opportunity with a little bit of a gap, he would get in there for his mid Rangers towns inside and out like smart, patient drives. If they were off him, he was knocking down threes. The Knicks are the better team and they shot better last night. So big time dub.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, they didn't even score all that effectively though.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I mean, 109's not a ton.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
No. Yeah. 13 of 37 from 3. It's not like they bombed away and just won. But the Cavs couldn't hit shots. I don't know if it's the down Danhausen. I call them the Downhousen the Danhausen. The fact that Sam Merrill came into this game after missing that potential game winner in game one and couldn't hit an open shot. Maybe there was some overlap from game one to game two where he literally couldn't hit open shots over seven for such an incredible three point shooter to miss every single one out there. Maybe that's the the Danhausen there. But in that third quarter when Josh Hart and and Jalen Brunson hit his only three of the game. Jalen Brunson, yes, spectacular passing the ball, but he only hit 13 when they went on that 180 run, he hits one really tough shot. Then he gets Dean Wade in the mid range. Then he went by James Harden who literally just o laid him to the hoop. He was stuck in cement there. Just let him get all the way to the hoop. And then Josh Hart decided to go off. I mean he had only had two in the first half, he's two of seven. But the second half when he was up top, he had the ball wide open. That's when Spike Lee, who's right in front of him, got up, did the shooting motion. Just shoot it, Josh, he didn't shoot it. He made the pass. And then he kept going around in that third quarter and that's when he got hot. He had three to of four in the second half. An incredible night, that shot, especially from the mid range where he's just hanging in the air doing that afterwards. 7 assists, 2 steals, 1 turnover. His greatest game, there's no doubt. I wonder because the Cavs can't Shoot, you mentioned all the stats in the second half. They gotta be a little bit more tired than the Knicks, who are super fresh. I mean, that. That comes into play. I think you look in the second half, they can't hit free throws. They left six points at the line in the fourth quarter. The second half, they shot 59% from the line, adding good enough. First half, 90%. That's pretty good. But over two games here, 69% from the line. So you missed a lot of shots from there. You miss a lot of shots from three. The Sam Merrill curse. I mean, that's. That didn't look right at. At all. And you can't overcome it. Yeah, I don't think it's a curse. I just think you. You left game one on the table there, and it's rolled over to Game 2.
Jay Skeets (Host)
The Cavs were able to cut the deficit to seven early in the fourth quarter, and you're starting to go, wow, are the Cavs going to do to the Knicks what the Knicks did to the Cavs in game one? You're like, oh, wow, they're going to flip it on its head. But I thought the Knicks had that answer there. Brunson found Mikhail Bridges in the middle of the zone defense there when they sort of brought the double up to him. Found Bridges inside, easy little floater. That was nice. Then OG he got it on the baseline. He's just like a human battering ram and just put somebody like, in the basket. Scored the layup, and then Brunson got in the paint, kicked it over to Hart, who then touched past it. Two bridges in the corner for three. And that built the lead back to 13 and sort of put to bed any sort of crazy Cavs comeback because, yeah, you guys went over it.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
They.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You got to be able to hit some of these open shots. You got to make sure you're generating the looks. But Sam Merrill, who Mike Brown called like, one of the best shooters in the league, in addition to Streuss. Yeah, he didn't hit one. And these were good looks, guy. And if he's not hitting them, I mean, then Sam Merrill's not doing a lot of else. That's the thing with Josh Hart. Awesome. That he kept shooting. Confidence never wavered, continued, or started to knock him down. Even if Josh Hart is missing threes, he's doing everything else. Absolutely everything else. And you're, of course, going to keep playing him. But someone like Sam Merrill, the 0 for 7 3, you're like, what else are you giving us, buddy?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah. And it Started with Legler being like, as a shooter, this is really disappointing because, you know, he's getting good looks. A lot of these were wide open. But then by the end of the game, they weren't even talking about him as a basketball player. They're like, he just looks like a hang dog. Sad boy out there. I was like, oh, man, sad for me. Yeah. I was like, he didn't look that upset. Have a smile. Later maybe.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Damn. Call the modem, Mr. Hang Doc. Sad boy. Yeah. If you look at the advanced stats, I haven't even looked at them. I am sure they're more than three feet away. For every Knicks player, when he took his shots, they had to be wide open. Those are so wide open. So who's that? Sam Merrill's shots were wide open, dude. And again, maybe it's a carryover from. He was almost, you know, the half bang, quarter bang. He almost won game one. And maybe that carried over, but, you know, nobody else, you know, the stru didn't have a hot game.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I mean, the Cavs stars had moments like Mobley and Allen, I thought from the jump, were pretty engaged. Allen was good on the offensive glass. Mobley hit a couple threes, hit a couple inside. He had a nice balance going. But then he did disappear.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He took six shots in the first quarter, eight for the game. That's crazy. The Cavs need to involve their bigs more. Like the back court is not going to be an advantage here with the length that they can put on Harden and on Mitchell. There's also the question mark of is Mitchell injured? If you have a bad game in the playoffs, they're going gonna say you're injured. I don't know.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He does not seem to be moving.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He doesn't seem like the same guy, but he's still scoring 27 a game on decent efficiency. So I don't put it on him. But they gotta find out a way to keep Mobley involved, like let him bring the ball up. I thought that was a huge thing for them in the Detroit series, him relieving some pressure from Harden and Mitchell. They would go into inverted screens for him and let him create as well. They could try some big, big screens. Like he should have a size advantage at the very least over whoever's trying to stick him. They just need to establish Allen and Mobley inside. They did, I thought, in the first quarter and then just completely went away from it. It feels like as things go poorly for the Cavs, they just want to chuck a three. And last night they were not hitting threes.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah. I think there was a reason why they went to the short role for Evan Mobley to end the second quarter and to start the third quarter. There's a reason we're going to get our big guys involved. And it worked for those two plays, but they didn't get him a lot.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
And the Knicks, I think, did a pretty good job of, like, getting into Mobley on these roles and not giving him a ton of space to catch and create because there was a lot more traffic in the lane in the second half.
Jay Skeets (Host)
And then as for the Cleveland supporting cast, I mean, you know, we're talking about the stars for Cleveland that sort of came up short, but nobody last night was contributing. Merrill, we went over him. Schroeder Streln, Tyson, Dean Wade. I think combined they shot 6 of 27. So, no, no. Like, spark from a guy off the bench to, like, maybe get you back in the game or give some life to the team. This is sort of across the board. Everybody's struggling there in Madison Square Garden.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, every single guy off the bench. I mean, Jalen Tyson's kind of like the Josh Hart of their team, where his shot just ain't on right now. I mean, he's shot well in the regular season, but it is totally off. And so they're decided he didn't play in game one. And Mike Brown, or, excuse me, Kenny Atkinson decided. Okay, okay, right. We'll give him a shot because our other guys aren't hitting a shot. So there's a problem there, obviously. The Donovan Mitchell, is he physically hurt? Yeah, yeah, he ain't 100%. You could see he's got a. A hitch in his walk a bit. You could see it there. There's no doubt. You got. He's got a hitch. Cat's the waddler on the other side because he just waddles it at all times. But he can still play. Mitchell can still fight through it, and he is fighting through it. So can he have a good game three? Yeah, I expected, but he wrote it off. Jalen Brunson had that layup with three minutes left. Mitchell had an opportunity to go block it, but I think he called it. Game three is my time.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
You know, we'll be back.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Save whatever's left in the tank.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah. Because they're down double digits and it was kind of over.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. What's more of an adventure to you? Carl Anthony Towns driving to the rim or Mitchell Robinson at the free throw line, because they are both quite the adventure. Cat is he had A great game, like 18 points, 13 rebounds. But like every drive from Cat is a rumbling, bumbling, stumbling, like finish. I mean, sometimes will finish and then of course is hitting the ground. So that's an adventure. And then Mitchell Robinson. My God. I mean, over four at the line last night. Yeah. Everyone getting worse and worse. He is. I mean, look, what is there saying at this point? Shoot it underhand, man. Come on, come on.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You would be a hero if you
Jay Skeets (Host)
started shooting on God damn hero. And some of them will just accidentally go in because there's some arc. Yeah, you cannot put it through the rim, man. Through the front of it.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
So he made up for it. Cuz he's miked up and he's good. Miked up. He is hilarious.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Very funny.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Three very funny things in that one segment. First he's like, that's a bad man. I don't even know who he was talking about because we couldn't really see what he was addressing.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Maybe a New York celebrity. I don't know. No, he's a player probably. Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay. Then the funniest one where he's like, he's got his hand on Jared Allen's chest and he's like, you're hard racing, man. Your heart about to be. Your heart about to beat out your chest.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, very funny.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Awesome. And then there's like another one. He's. You could sort of not even hear it, but he's like, this is the Eastern Conference finals to somebody there on the free. Yeah, he's funny.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
He was really, really good. I, I will say just about the cat and how they're taking away his space and they're not allowing him to be this hub throwing it everywhere. It's definitely because their bigs are going to take away any cuts you get from the baseline. But also Kent decided we're going to take it away. And Kenyak or Carl Anthony Town's doing a really good job of driving. I mean there's no turnovers in this game.
Jay Skeets (Host)
They're just hilarious to watch every time he drives. But he is attacking for sure and
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
he's doing a really good job with that. So everybody chipping. It's funny watching this Knicks team because Hart came through. OG Is getting better. He's still not what he was in in the Hawk series, but he's getting better. Bridges is cooking, Towns is cooking. Brunson wasn't even awesome. Deuce McBride couldn't hit a shot. So they're only going to get better. It feels like. Like they haven't hit their. Their step where they what they had last round so.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, to win the championship, they will have to, I think get better whoever they're taking on in the spurs of Thunder. But right now, nine straight, it's pretty amazing. Three weeks ago on this very podcast, we held a disappointing most disappointing players in the playoffs draft. And I selected Knicks forward Mikhail Bridges with my number one selection. I thought it was a sound choice at the time. He was really struggling in that series versus the Hawks. It was tied 2, 2. At that point on the day we did the draft, he was getting benched. If you remember, he was playing like 20 minutes a game. It was bad since game four against Atlanta and since I called him out on the podcast or drafted him in the most disappointing players in the playoffs draft, Bridges has gone bonkers. He's made 67% of his shots from the field. He's hit nearly half of his threes. He hasn't missed a free throw. He never turns the ball over like once in a blue moon. And he's a plus one, 55 over the nine game win streak. So he's turned it around. And I mean we bring that up because there's just such a much better team when Mikhail Bridges is actually contributing. He doesn't need to score 30, he doesn't need to do that. He just needs to obviously attack, put a little pressure on the rim. He's going to give you great defense. It just helps unlock things there. So good on him. Made me look like a fool for drafting him at the time it was right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's been awesome since he was bad through of course, three games basically.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, you just probably when we did the draft. Yeah, you just need your coach sitting in the fourth quarters and then you cook. That's what happened to Josh Harden. Game 1 of this series. He didn't play in the fourth quarter. He's back, baby. Mikel Bridges also pulled. Now he's back. So yeah, that could be a part of it. New York is scary on the road though, you know, like this wasn't a, an overwhelmingly great win, but on the road they, they turn it on. So the last three road games, they won by 51, 14 and 30, you know.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yes. So the Cavs are much better at home though.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, we'll see.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, look, the series comes down to Saturday. Saturday, I mean, whether it's going to be a series or it's probably a sweep at that point. Maybe a gentleman sweep. But Saturday, 8 o', clock, it's nighttime game.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
The rest of them are nighttime games.
Jay Skeets (Host)
They're all nighttime games, baby. What else you got from this one?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Are we talking about randoms? Are we talking about anything else? There's nothing else. I think that was that interesting. The Cavs need just like somebody random to go off. They need Stre to hit seven threes. You know, they need Donovan Mitchell to have a 50 point game or something like that. They need some sort of an outlier because if things just play like according to script, the Knicks are better and deeper.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, yeah, they were dead. They were dead in the third quarter. Merrill went 0 for 6 in the, in the first half. I think they kind of knew, all right, this guy ain't hitting threes. We don't have one. You know, Strews could help out, but they, they knew that they didn't have one. You could see their defense was dead. There's plenty of the James Harden sort of playing safety not knowing what he's doing moments. I mean, where is he? The broadcasters called him out, too. What are you doing, dude? Get in front of somebody like, even if you're not going to stay in front of somebody. So I think they knew that they were dead in that third quarter. And it was weird to see Evan Mobley, the way he started this game. He was awesome. Splashing threes. And then the takes from the baseline, from the corner to the hoop, those were great takes.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Big reverse jam.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
That was another good mic'd up moment. I couldn't even tell who was like barking at each other because Mobley and Mitchell Robinson are both miked up driving baseline and there's one of the two
Jay Skeets (Host)
of them just going
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
up with a dunk. So I don't know who it was.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, man. And then he kind of just disappeared after that after barking. Yeah, I couldn't tell either who was barking on that, but he had a tip in and then that was it. Yeah, 10 points. I mean, a couple of those short roles that I mentioned, that's where he's cooking, too, the big to big passes. He had a couple assists, a few assists, but still, it was weird to see that flash forward to the third quarter when they just disappeared.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, like when you zoom out in this series, it's 2 0. Knicks, of course, but like through two games, the Cavs are winning the rebounding and free throw battles. The turnover battle is pretty damn close. So it's like that's a bit of a wash. It's just shooting. It's just the Knicks have been much better at shooting the basketball this series than the Cavs through too. And Cleveland fans are going to hope that changes a little bit in their own barn.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, exactly right. I think they've lost one home game, I think, so far in the playoffs. That crazy blowout with Detroit in game. But it's not even like shooting for a whole game, I think because it was like nine minutes of the fourth quarter in Game one and like eight minutes of the third quarter in this one. And that's just sinking the Cavs. Those gigantic runs. Like what it ended up being 44 to 11 for the Knicks in game one. There was the 18 to 0 last night. And just when it's going poorly, it feels like they can't stop the runs, I guess.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Did Kenny Atkinson. He did call some timeouts, though, last night, didn't he?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Timeout, Kenny? Yeah, he was calling more timeouts. He's like, he tried stuff.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Adjustments were made. They beat the adjustments.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. Yeah.

Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh I'm a podcast host. That is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a of priority for me. So I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quint's has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts. One striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable but still look put together. And the best part is I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quince works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. All right, let's get to some random notes here from game two. Random? Well, we already went over the mic'd up Mitchell Rock Robinson segment. That was a fun sort of random note that they included in the broadcast. I got a few other ones here pregame. I thought they did our guy James Harden dirty with this slow mo shot of him getting ready. It was okay, you gotta remember it was off of a cool slow mo shot of Jalen Brunson sort of hitting a little jumper and warmup. And then they went to James Harden making this face for everybody on YouTube.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
How would you describe this face to the podcast listener?
Jay Skeets (Host)
I don't know.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Like he just did.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He looks like.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, he looks like if you were eating a corn cob. But he's not eating a corn Cob.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Like his chompers were out.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
You know, or maybe he did smelling salts and he's just like, oh, is that man?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Anyway, they didn't need to do that, nor did we need to show it, but, you know, it was pretty funny.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
It's out there.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Funny hearted face there. And that was just a screen grab. There was like a slow mo shot of it doing that. Dennis Schroeder no headband in game two. Okay. So I make note of that, but
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
looks like a little boy.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, bring your attention to the. The rolled up waistband that this guy does. This is a Dennis Schroeder move. I think this isn't a first. Not a lot of guys in the NBA do this. This feels like more of like a WNBA move to me. You see a lot of the rolled wrist waistbands.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Absolutely right. And younger levels, like high school basketball will do it as well. I'm surprised that's not a uniform violation in the NBA. Things like that. They're usually like, you can't have your jersey untucked.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, it's true. But you're allowed to roll your waistband. Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I think Sam Merrill does it too.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Does he?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I only noticed in game one when it was the black shorts. And the black shorts. It's not as evident. You know, it wouldn't be a violation with the black shorts. I don't think it's not as big a deal.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You can't tell.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, you can't. No, no.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Do you think they should be allowed to wear a belt instead?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Oh, Mike. In style.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I think they should bring them back.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Obviously don't fit. I don't think this is. Is it just fat? I mean, maybe it is just a cool fashion move that he's doing, but it could be like the short. He likes them bigger and baggier, but then the waist is too big, so he, like, tries to tighten it up a bit. That's what. I don't know. That's what I'm thinking. Yeah. Give the guy a belt.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
They also said on the broadcast he's had 245 NBA teammates. Can you name them all?
Jay Skeets (Host)
All right, let's go. Wow.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
7th. Most of all time.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay. Is it Jeff Green have the most number one? Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I think Chris Paul is also very high.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Sure.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Jeff Green is number one. Yeah, he said it's done, I imagine. And there's Smith on there. Just the guys who've played for the most teams.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Schroeder would have played with. Definitely. Jeff Green.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, I assume so. Obviously. Chris Paul.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Chris Paul. Yeah, he maybe is probably with Chris Paul more than once. He's played for a lot of teams.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. Yeah. It's sort of sneaky how you said he looked like a young boy in that photo, but, you know, this guy's been around forever.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
At this point, he's one of the vets of the league. Here's a really random note. Okay, guys, I'm watching the game. You know, I'm taking some notes. I'm looking up. Of course I'm watching. Whatever. And at one point early in the fourth quarter, Donovan Mitchell went to the free throw line and he took a free throw or two. And I must have looked down, and then I looked back up and JD has the clip here. And I was so confused for a second. I thought, did I miss a technical foul being called? Because this camera shot makes it look like Donovan Mitchell is shooting a free throw by himself at the line. It doesn't look like there's anybody lined up.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
It doesn't.
Jay Skeets (Host)
They're there. Yep. And, guys, that's when I know the gummies hitting right there.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Where'd everybody go?
Jay Skeets (Host)
It's at that moment where I had to rewind it a couple times. What. What's going on here? Oh, just crazy shot.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
You got to watch the in arena feed if you're on gummies because you could have saw Method man perform at halftime.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I love Method Man.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Wow.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Kicked ass video. Did you know his classics stuff from his Wu Tang days? You know, just. Just his. His ISO verses and then the rock Wilder. Yeah, Kicked ass. And he got. He got ready. Not in his seat. Sometimes you see these halftime shows. The guy's just in his seat. Oh, yeah, he's coming on at halftime. He was backstage. They had a camera shot of him. He was getting himself pumped up. And he wasn't one of those guys that just lip syncs, you know, he's got the background lyrics, but he's rapping over them. He has. He had it the entire time. Cool hat. It's like the Wu Tang W combined with the. The Mets. And why? Because it wasn't the Knicks and why. But it was blue and orange. I couldn't really tell either way.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Very cool. He was kicking ass and he was sitting courtside.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
There he was.
Jay Skeets (Host)
There was a shot, then he got
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
up and he got pumped. He got himself pumped and he was ready to go.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Speaking of people sitting courtside, Jason Doyle. I wanted to get you to pick a Jason because Bateman and Sudeikis were sitting together last night. A couple of Jason's.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Oh, I have to pick one.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You have to pick a Jason. The pick a Jason challenge. Bateman or Sudeikis?
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I love them both.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, couple of good Jason's.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I do too.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I think I'm gonna go. I'm in a sedeus mood.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Feeling Sude.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Feeling Sudeikis today.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, it was. It was nice. The just all the celebrities and you know, in the msg they play a clip from their movie or whatever before they show them. And so they showed Dustin before they show Dustin Hoffman. He was in a movie where he does. The car pulls up to him, he goes, I'm working here. That was great. That was great.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
That was great. And that's an improvised thing.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
It is.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Wow.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Not even scripted. That car just drove by and he was walking there.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, I'd lived it.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Damn.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Yeah, they were shooting without a permit.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Jesus. Hopefully he gets sued.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Statue of limitations.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Are you a Sudeikis or Bateman, man?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I told you, man. I love bateman. And Zootopia 1 and 2 both worst role by far. Yeah, sure. Of course. It's not even a role, is it?
Jay Skeets (Host)
You're going Bateman, though. That's fine. He. He. At least the shot I saw in the broadcast, Bateman went like. He went. Nick's towel, I think. Okay, so he had something in his hands, I think. I think it was a towel. And Sedis a little more cool. Played it cool. But he's had the cool WNBA hoodie on too.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, I think he was with his daughter too, on his left.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Al.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
They kind of cut her out to show the Baitman, the.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
The Jason, the double Jason.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
But I mean, I'll go through the stars they had last night. Let's go. Timothy Shalame, Tracy Morgan, Chris Rock, John Bon Jovi.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Dustin Hoffman, Michael Strahan. The two Jason, John McEnroe, Igor Shurkin. Rangers player. C, C. Sabathia. Rick Patino, Michael J. Fox, John Stewart, Mariska Haggerty, Ben Stiller, Alex Rodriguez.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Damn.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
And that's without the players. Marbury Ewing, Stark Sper, Wilson Chandler. Two Thomases, Tim and Kurt, Gerald Wilkins, Larry Johnson, Bernard King, Walt Frazier, Nate Robinson and Bill Bradley. Nate Robinson gave a good handshake to the players when it was all done. Very nice buddies with Cat, I guess.
Jay Skeets (Host)
How'd you feel about fans? Well, fans chanting Nixon 4. And it like. There wasn't a lot of gusto behind it. It was not a large contingent of people chanting Knicks in four. But there were some Knicks fans. Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I mean, they should feel confident in their team right now.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Could they sweep, certainly.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, absolutely.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
But I. I do think the Cavs will get one.
Jay Skeets (Host)
They could.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
This could be a gentleman.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. Yeah. Gentleman sweep.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Very gentle.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Hopefully. Hopefully we have a series after Saturday. I mean, it'd be fun if the Cavs obviously get that one, because then things just get a little more interesting for a game forward. It's like, oh, could be tied. Yeah. Three, one.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
And hopefully Donna is saving that. Those legs for. For Game 3, because he's not done. He's not done. It's all up to him. To me, I mean, yeah, the shots matter, but if you're riding that guy's back, then the shots start to fall.
Jay Skeets (Host)
All right, let's take.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I got a few.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, you got more?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, I got. I got a lot more. I got, like, Richard Jefferson randomly breaking down the NHL playoffs. Like, they just read a promo for Knights vs. Avalanche. He's like, oh, yeah, Avalanche lost their first game at home, but they're going to be all right. I know they're missing McCarr. And Breen's mind was blown.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He's like, what?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's like, this is what we do, Mike, I thought that was great.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
But, I mean, I think he's underplaying the absence of Makara. That guy's an absolute star, as we all know. I also like Mike Brie screen talking about the premature bang that he gave to Sam Merrill. He said, I knew it wasn't going in. Taking the piss. I like that. And then Josh Hart showed up with a full pizza at the press conference with him and Carl Anthony Towns sat down and said, are you crust guy to Carl Anthony Towns? Then he said something about garlic crust. They talked crust for easily 45 seconds. So that's how concerned they are with this series.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah. Josh. Art. Josh Hart was dropping lines.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, yes. He said about analytics. He said, at a certain point, they're a lamppost to a drunk person. You can lean on them, but it won't get you home.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, Carl was, wow, pretty good.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He have that in the chamber?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, he did.
Jay Skeets (Host)
That's a damn good.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Now, he. He referenced who he got it from.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay. Yeah. For Jay Wright, maybe an old coach? Yeah, I think so.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Maybe. Maybe Carl didn't like it.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Are you a crust guy?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
My crust guy? Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, hell yeah. I mean, that's all I like. I don't know if your wives are crust women, but I've eaten a lot of crust because Nora doesn't eat crust. So
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
how dare you ask if my
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
wife is a crust?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
She does love planting in The Garden Crunch. That's crunchy.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. Anything else? Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Nah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Let's take a break. Let's take a break and when we come back, we got something fun.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
This show is brought to you by fanduel. Last time I did this ad, I said I like the over. For CAVS NICKS Game one, it was 217 and a half. It hit the over only because it was an overtime game.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, right, right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I can't stand that. Including overtime anytime whether it's point spread, over, under, end of regulation. That should be the regulation. It ain't hard.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You've always said this.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah. This doesn't make any sense. I can make the gambling regulations no problem. I'll write them all out. For everybody. NBA fans, here's a reminder to check in with FanDuel daily. Because every day during the playoffs, FanDuel is serving up a happy hour. It's usually about 4 to 6pm it's kind of like more like hours really, but special drops during that, from profit boosts to bonus bets and more. It happens every single day. Open the FanDuel app and see what's waiting for you. It won't last forever. Two hours max. FanDuel, an official partner of the NBA.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, let's turn our attention to tonight's game three of the Western Conference finals. The series shifts to San Antonio and I am excited to see what this fan base has in store for us. Because overall, the spurs like fan engagement has been off the charts these NBA playoffs. But we have four fan bases left, right? We got the Knicks, the Cavs, the Thunder and the Spurs. And I think there's a real conversation here as to who has the best NBA fan base of these four squads.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Then I say, let the conversation begin.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
That's right.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Let me make the case for each one and then we'll debate it. Let's start with the Spurs. They've done a number of cool things already. Like I said, Game 1 of the playoffs, they busted out the Fiesta section coated shirts. They had the teal, they had the pink, they had the orange. This looked incredible on tv. Probably even better in person. The arena a living mosaic. It was popping on tv. Like I said. Tim Duncan and David Robinson were even shown on the broadcast rocking their sort of orange colored shirts there. So they were getting in on the fun. They brought this back too, a little bit later because it was such a big hit.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I think I realized how jacked David Robinson still is. Still nice biceps.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Huge. Huge. And then in Game 5 of the semifinals versus the Wolves, you had A San Antonio based artist named Sheck design this huge monster tifo that they unfurled at Frost. Pretty cool. Like, real fan culture moment in the NBA, which almost sort of never happens. This is a big European thing, obviously. A huge soccer football thing. Our friends at Ledger even produced a mini dog documentary on Sheck and the Jackals. Shout out to the Jackals, the super fan group, and how it all connects to San Antonio. It's up on Ledger's Instagram page. We actually link to it in the show notes if you want to check it out. It's very, very cool how they made the tifo and the artists. And my sources say the spurs have another fan centric moment planned for tonight. Game three of the conference finals here.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Let's go.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Who are your sources?
Jay Skeets (Host)
A man named Stone. All right, so that's the Spurs. As for the other three, you know
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
what I love about the spurs, too? They do do the wave only during video reviews. They did it in that game one with the multicolored shirts. It looked awesome. The. The. It was the appropriate time to do a wave.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
The only time during video reviews.
Jay Skeets (Host)
That's the only time. All right. I like that.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Unless it's baseball, you know, this is different. This is basketball. That's cool.
Jay Skeets (Host)
As for the other three fan bases, Thunder, they have one of the loudest crowds.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
In the entire league. Obviously from these four. 2. This was a fan base that was pretty patient for a little while there in the rebuild. And now they're trying to stack chips here. And it's a real basketball town. OkC I that gets overlooked. The Knicks, they got the energy of msg. They got the celebrities as you went through. They got the Bing Bong boys, they got the Die Hards, some of them that have suffered for decades. But I've said it before, and a lot of people agree. It seems like they are one of the smartest, most engaged fan bases, like, in that arena when a game is going on. I love that. And then finally there's the Cavs. And that is a fan base that's sort of been through the ups and downs over the last little while. But I like that they show up too. I said recently on a podcast, look at all these Cavs fans back in their seats for the start of the third quarter. I gave them some props for that. So they were locked in. They had a great home record. So maybe that's a big part of the reason why. So there it is. Knicks, Cavs, Thunder, Spurs. These are good. Four good fan bases. Who is number One in your mind.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Interesting.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
The spurs and the Thunder are in unique positions, but in similar positions in that they're the only sport in town. So they get the backing of literally everybody. I do think the Knicks have the backing of 95% of New York as well, though. There's a lot of transplants and there's probably a few Nets fans thrown in as well. One thing the Knicks fans don't do is wear their T shirts. And that's pretty shameful. New Yorkers are like, look, we dress well. We put thought into our outfits. We're not putting on a free T shirt over the top of it. But when you see the spurs in the Fiesta or a blue out for the Thunder.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
It makes you want to wear a T shirt.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, it looks okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
What about you? Yeah, I feel like the teams that have a squad or the fan bases that have a squad, that it's the only show in town, they get a little bump whether it's OKC or San Antonio. I like how during the broadcast for okc, they showed the shot outside the arena of the empty land, saying, oh, we're building a stadium right over here next door. I mean, that, that's, that's the place to be in the city. So they have that kind of advantage, I think, you know, it's the spurs and what they bring, the vibes, the effort, that kind of stands out to me. No disrespect to okc and they're, they're also their colorful shirts. But San Antonio sticks out. Don't they stick out for you?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Like, yeah. Of these four, though, are the Knicks the only one in the playoffs doing the Jurassic park like, outdoor atmosphere and watch the game on a big screen outside the arena. I can't think of them doing it in Cleveland, OKC or San Antonio. Yeah, and that might be just set up of the arena and stuff like that, but they have that going for them. We get a lot of them showing all those crazies out there.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Bing bong boys.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
They gotta let Oakley into the stadium because, you know, like their play, their. Their team, the former players that they have in the arena. It is amazing. I went through it in our A block. If you're listening now, in our B block, I'm not going to repeat it, but there's. That's like a squad, but you just need oak and then you got a full squad. I mean, that's a. That part stands out as far as celebrity row and fans. New York beats every team by a Lance.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I mean, it is New York City. I don't know how many celebrities are living in Oklahoma City.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Well, LA would be a competition. Yeah, but it's not.
Jay Skeets (Host)
All right, let's hear from everybody out there. Best fans, best fan base remaining of the conference finalists. Knicks, Cavs, Thunder, Spurs. Rank them, throw them in order there.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
All right, let's do a little voteski. I'll put up a vote and I'll tell you the results of our previous poll. Pick a Jason. 68% are going for Sudeikis. 66% actually. Sorry. Are going for Bateman.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Wow.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah. Surprise. Arrested Development.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Is awesome.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's true.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, we got a new poll going for the fan baseball here. All right. Of the night, sponsored by Zane in Montana. Zane wrote in. My best friend Rain's birthday is today.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Happy birthday, Rain.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Happy birthday to Rain. Zane and Rain. That's sort of cool. We met in high school when I asked what he was listening to and he whipped out his phone and showed me that he was listening to the five hour super deluxe commentary edition of of Tears for Fears songs from the big chair. I thought that was the funniest thing in the world. And we've been best friends ever since. We're both daily listeners of your show. I think it would make him cry happy tears to hear y' all wish him a happy birthday. We did. Happy birthday, Rain. He's moving to Portland next week, which means this will be the first time in our nine years of friendship where we will have not spent his birthday together. So huge bummer there. But what a move by Zane to get the Rain birthday shout out in. Oh, boy. Yeah, that is nice. And I mean, yeah, I get it. Like you laughed at what he was listening to, but you're also your name Zane and his name is Rain. Like, by law, you have to be friends. I think so. Good stuff, guys.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Five hour super deluxe commentary edition of Tears for Fears songs for the big chair. Yeah, I think Zane had the right response. That's pretty funny. But you must be an interesting.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, no doubt.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I actually wrote a song for Rain for his birthday.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I'm good.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Go on.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Chocolate
Jay Skeets (Host)
in Portland. He's gonna have some. All right. Josh Hart gets wobby. Scored a playoff career high 26 points in Game 2 of the east finals. I think Schuman said it was the highest usage rate Josh Hart has had in any game in his career. It was like over 31% in game two. That's pretty nuts. He shot 10:21 from the field, 5 of 11 from deep four boards, seven assists, two steals in 33 minutes. The best there is. The best there was and the best there ever will be. Part of the Hart Foundation. Josh Hart.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You think he was trained up by Stu?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, yeah. In the dungeon up in Calgary. You try and convince me Josh Hart wasn't born in Calgary. Where was Josh Hartborn?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I don't know. Yeah, I have no idea. So he played a Villanova.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He seems like a Western guy to me.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He does to me as well.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
But he loves Mike's and Ikes.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He loves Mike's and Ikes.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
He was born.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He's born in Silver Spring, Maryland.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Okay. So East Coaster.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Went to high school in Washington, in D.C. okay. East coast, you called it. Went to College of Villanova. Somebody in the front row. I think they actually saw it. When we saw that Donovan Mitchell clip where I was really screwed up on. On gummies. Split jersey, Knicks and Villanova. Did you see that?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Oh, I didn't see that. But like a split jersey or a split hat in Method Man's case.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Very, very cool.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
All right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
I wonder what was on the sides of his hat, too, because he's just sitting straightforward. There's some monster things on that side of the hat. Need to know.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He didn't. He didn't perform with the hat on.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
That's a good question.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Looks like he's got the hat.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I would have thought his head would have turned for you to see if there was anything.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's got a Nick's hat on here.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Maybe switch.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Be a different hat. It'd be a performance hat.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Change the hat.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, he changed the hat because he's gonna sweat.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Nick's J. That's nice.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
He got it. He still got it.
Jay Skeets (Host)
He still got it.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yep.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Great voice. Always had a great voice.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, I see him working out. You said David Robinson also still looks really big. Method man does video clips sometimes of him just lifting in the gym. Nice lifting. Heavy stuff. He still can do that.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Good stuff.

MBI Support from this show comes from Quince I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host that is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me. So I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quint has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cartoon ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quint's. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts, one striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable but still look put together. And the best part is I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quints works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. All right, before we go, here it is, the drop. We gotta have some rapid fire questions. Task. You've got the cues, we got the answers.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Here we go. First one. Shaq gave Wemby a new nickname after his game one performance. His American name is Tim Robinson. He played like Tim Duncan and David Robinson. Tim Robinson came to play last night. Guys, give me a new nickname for anyone involved with the current NBA playoffs. Player, team, employee, broadcaster, whoever.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, I have two possible nicknames for one guy. And it's off of a video that went viral this week. A video we made a short of as well. Carter Bryant taking a mid game dump.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Maybe, maybe, maybe.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Could have been a p. Yep. Anyway, it looked like he was in the OKC fans bathroom. Restroom. So off of that we could call him Charter Bryant.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Or.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Or hear me out here. Takes a couple steps to get to it. We could just go with employee number 11. Okay. And I say employee number 11 because two reasons. One, Paul Pierce famously. Maybe poop. Whooped his pants. Right. Played with Antoine Walker, who was employee number eight. That's how I'm getting to that link. But the other reason is employees must wash their hands before returning to work. Which he did do, as we made note of.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Wow.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Really good wash job on Carter Bryant. So he's an employee. So employee number 11. Or Charter Bryant. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Those are both pretty good. He could also be as Skip Bayless said about Paul George, playoff P. E. E. Yeah. He did it. I. I like that they reuse employee number.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Blah, blah, blah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You'll hear it on a broadcast every now and then. That's a repeatable one too.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, what do you got?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I got. I got like five bad ones. So tell me, tell me if this is good. Harrison Barnes is the gummy bear. We call him Harry Bow.
Jay Skeets (Host)
We do call him. That's good. Okay, Good.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Jordan. Have mercy McLaughlin. Cuz his last name reminds me of Lori Laughlin. And Uncle Jesse was always saying, have mercy.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Wow.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Two for Kenny Atkinson here. You could either call him Grimace or Dangerous Knights.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I like Dangerous Knights.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Okay.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Slick back.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Nice.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
The homie Jacob Tobey.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Mmm. Hey.
Jay Skeets (Host)
We love him.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, he's the homie.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
He's our homie now.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yep.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
And Dylan Harper is leap year. He plays older than he is.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Is.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Ooh.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You Know, you're like, yeah, I'm. I'm five years old, but really, you're 20.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Pretty good.
Jay Skeets (Host)
These are all solid.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You're good at this, man. You're good at this. JD what do you got you going? Player, team, employee podcast.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I really struggled with this one. For some reason, I was inspired by Mike Breen censoring himself. Sort of going halfway. Mike screen. He's screening himself. We're like, screening calls, you know, like, oh, no, no, that's not. It's not bangs. We gotta keep them back.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Mike's like.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Like a drain. A screen and a drain.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
You know, or like a guy on the. You know, the sensor button in the controller.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Leaping.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Did you say. Were you thinking screen in the drain? Because you had a lot of plumbing issues.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Plumber here for eight hours yesterday.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Who was the. Who was the charter Bryant that caused that? No.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
No.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Toilets fixed?
Jay Skeets (Host)
No. Oh, wow. Not a single toilet.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Crazy.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Crazy.
Jay Skeets (Host)
But you did fix, finally, the kitchen faucet.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
No longer. Which was like.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, that was crazy.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Excellent.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I would forget every time.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Every time I would go and use that faucet. It's like a laser.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You cut rocks with it. Power washer. Yeah. Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
All right, second one here was something unexpected. Ben Simmons helped win a fishing competition at the Walker's Cay Open in the Bahamas for the South Florida Sales Academy. They caught six blue marlin and three sailfish, according to the poster. I didn't know what a sailfish was until this poster. That's a little sports fishing championship SFC info for you. Ben Simmons. He did it. What's something random you learned recently, Skeets?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Bean centric recipes are having a moment.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Are they?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. Beans are hot right now. Beans are cheap. And maybe that's the reason why that, you know, in this economy.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Recession indicator.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Exactly. So. But beans are all the rage right now. And another little. Little tidbit here about beans. Some bean lovers have taken to referring to themselves as the Leguminati.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Good one.
Jay Skeets (Host)
That's good.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I didn't write. I didn't make that up. That was from the NPR article I read on bean centric recipes. Bean centric recipe, which, I mean, of all of us, I would assume you would be in the Leguminati.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Probably so. I mean, Laura literally sent me a list of 30 bean centric recipes. See, first one I whipped up was a bean and broccoli Caesar salad.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Nice.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
They're mostly cold bean recipes. Right. Going around or they hopping?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Both. I mean, today, as the weather warms up, you're gonna want cold beer, I think.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Exactly, exactly, exactly.
Farmers Insurance Announcer
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
You're a bean.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Beans are pretty fun, though.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, at a baseball game, hot beans get your hot beans get a little hot.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
How would that be, sir? I would eat at a game. A can.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Like, I would eat a can of beans
JD (Producer/Contributor)
at a baseball game.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, because at a baseball game, I want to eat garbage. You know, I like. I like hot dogs.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
And I mean, hot dogs and beans actually go to.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, you can dunk your hot dog
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
into the beans and weenies.
Jay Skeets (Host)
But it'd be really fun if, like, hot beans get your happy, sir. I'll take two. And like, if, like, it was closed, they could throw you the can of beans and then you crack them open.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Isn't there a Nathan Fielder? Oh, it's chili. It's chili. He wants to sell chili out of his.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
How do they serve it? How do they pass it out?
JD (Producer/Contributor)
He was wearing a chili suit inside, under. He was selling chili.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Okay, Illegally. Okay.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Illegally illegal chili.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
All right.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, that's what I've learned. Bean centric recipes are having a moment.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
There was a video recently of a kid who likes to, like, put funny things on top of his car and drive around with meta glasses on. He put a can of beans on the top.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Everybody's just cop stopping and saying, get a bean.
Jay Skeets (Host)
They're so good.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
So many people. People sent me that, and I laughed every time. Oh, yeah, this is good.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Nelly should make a song just with, you know, the classic instead of the hot, hot beans. We're going down. You know, there's lots of stuff out there. Good stuff.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Get them in a bush.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Baked beans commercial.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
You see that, like, tag team, you know, they were in for whatever reason.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Hot beans.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
All right, Trey, what's something you learned?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
If a show gets the four seasons, it's good. I learned this from my friend Mo Verney, who told me the main reason to watch Sky Med is because it got to four Seasons, so, you know, people like it. That's kind of. Kind of true.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Sky Med is back.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Sky Med is back. Last night. I'm sure everybody's already caught up, so we won't spoil the season here. But just in case you're wondering, there are four seasons of them saving each other from bear attacks.
Jay Skeets (Host)
That's the line seems to be that the story is about.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
To the Northern Manitoba.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I can only hope that each season is a different season. Like season one, summer season.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Be cool. That'd be nice.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Sure.
Jay Skeets (Host)
I bet.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I mean, it's northern on Canada. Yeah. No, it's definitely not.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Well, they have gone different provinces. It was northern Ontario, then it was northern Manitoba. Right. Or do they all Manitoba? No, no, I saw northern Ontario somewhere. Maybe they shot it. No, the first one it there.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Maybe. Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Who knows.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Tax Credits Enough. Yeah.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
SkyMed Ontario.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, Sky Med.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Barry. Right. Keep it going.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Big franchise.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
JD France has 57 operable nuclear nuclear reactors.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Okay,
JD (Producer/Contributor)
that's just a random thing I learned.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Why? Why'd you learn that 57?
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I heard it on a podcast.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Oh, which one?
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Great. Qu. I. I don't even know. Might have been BBC news or something. They export their power to neighboring countries.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
You know NATO.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
That's amazing. States only has 96.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Wow. This.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
The states actually generate more nuclear power. But because it's so massive, you know. But that's 18 power stations, guys. So there's you know, multiple reactors in across the power stations and that. Interesting.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Thank you.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
And it's not all, it's. You would think that with all that nuclear power and they are exporting it, you'd think that 100% of their power was nuclear. It's not that. Wind,
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
solar, I mean standard fossil fuel, I'm sure.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Yeah, but not as much much obviously. But hey, cool story, bro.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, maybe when you go over to watch the spurs play the Pelicans, you can go check out all those plants.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
At least one of them. Yeah, why not?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, you can make a short out of that.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Anyone ever been to the Pickering power plant in Ontario?
Jay Skeets (Host)
No.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
No. No.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Seen it?
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Yeah.
Jay Skeets (Host)
From afar. Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Why don't you go to the. The Vogel nuclear power plant here in Georgia? It's not far. Maybe I will.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I'm not that interested in nuclear power, guys. I just was asked a question of something random I learned recently and that's what I mean.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Our answers were beans, skymed and nuclear power plants. I mean, pretty good and random.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, I'm gonna use that tidbit.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Last one here. San Antonio Public Central Library introduced the Read Like Wemby selection of sci fi books this week. Week my mortar, the worldly make warrior of the Altai were a few of them. If there was a book written by about. Excuse me, Victor Wembanyama. I'm sure he writes books too. But if there's one written about him, what would you call it?
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, my title for a book written about Victor Weminyama. You know the obvious angle to go here is Alien ufo. So I didn't go that way. Instead I'm calling the book Talent is not enough. And this is off of the Shaolin Shaolin Monk article from Ramona Shelburne. And that was a line in it from the master. Like, yeah, he's got all the talent in the world.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Sure.
Jay Skeets (Host)
But it's not enough.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
No.
Jay Skeets (Host)
So I feel like that would be like a book, like when it's all said and done. Talent was not enough. Talent is not enough. So that's what I'm going with.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Sure.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yeah. It's not enough. Walk at. Walk at night in the pitch black as. As they rode or as they did in the. The temple.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Long meditations.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Long meditation.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Which is tough if you were 7 5, they said. Right. Sitting there for like 90 minutes.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yeah, I mean, I think it's up for anybody.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, yeah, I mean, the physical.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
What I'm saying is I don't think it's harder to cross your legs when you're 7 foot 5. They just spread wider.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
You have the room.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
It's not harder.
Jay Skeets (Host)
The guy has the room. Great point. Afterwards, jammed into a small spot.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
All right. Trey.
Jay Skeets (Host)
What?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
There's a book written about Wemby. What do you got?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Close Encounters of the Spurs Kind.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Oh, that's good.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Nice.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Sci fi.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
I did go alien.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, I mean, that's why I was. I figured someone would go alien. So I was like, I'll go somewhere else.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
JD's going nuclear. Power point angle.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Well, the power within kind of.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
I'm chipping away at Dune Messiah right now, so I just thought, dunk Messiah.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Why not?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Simple, simple. He's a savior.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Stupid.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah, simple and stupid. That's rapid fire. In a nutshell, not so rapid, but fire. Hopefully. You tell us five star ratings and reviews. Hit the like button, subscribe. We'll call it there. Bit of a quickie drop. Might be back this weekend for some recap podcasts. I mean, huge game three tonight. Huge game three. No tests. Could you fire up your NBA.com website there and tell us some statuses on players playing or not playing?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
The NBA official always has them ready to go.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, what do you got here by. It's 1101. So maybe it just updated.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
No, I just got a 1045 right now, but it's going to be the exact same as the 11 o' clock one, which is not surprising. De' Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper, both. Both questionable. They're keeping it under the wraps. Jalen Williams, also questionable for okc. Big news. Thomas Sorber. He's out.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, well. Still out.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Still.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, so the three main guys there, Fox, Harper and J Dub. Questionable.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Yep.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Huge holding on as long as they can. Probably. Are you going to be able to play?
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Right.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Minus one and a half for the spurs tonight on FanDuel.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Okay, who do you like? What do you like tonight? I know it's tough without knowing.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
It's hard to know if, if it's no Harper, no Fox. I would take the Thunder.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yeah. But maybe one. Okay, let's say one of them plays first. Okay.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 1
Yep.
Jay Skeets (Host)
Yes.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
1102, 11 o'. Clock. Injury report just dropped. Same as 1045. Yeah, they wait. They wait as long as they possibly can.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
So.
Jay Skeets (Host)
All right, we'll see. We might again, like I said, have a little mini podcast on the weekend if it lives up to the hype there. Game 3. At the very least, we'll be back on Monday here from the Classic Factory to break down all the NBA weekend playoff games and we'll have by then all NBA teams that are announced on Sunday. So we'll talk about that on Monday's podcast. Thanks for joining us. Till then, Clipper Bros. You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
JD (Producer/Contributor)
Awesome.
Podcast Analyst/Commentator 2
Thanks for joining us. And remember, we'll see you soon. Maybe this weekend, maybe Monday. Have a great weekend.

Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host that is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me. So I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that quints has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts. One striped, one silver. Solid. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Head to quince.com nodunks for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns.
