Tas Melas
I don't believe that story.
Je Skeets
Okay, ESPN did a deep dive on Steve Kerr's decision to keep coaching. I thought it was a fascinating article. Great column. It's going to take you a while to read it. It's a lengthy column. We don't get these often anymore.
Tas Melas
It's about a lot of his life.
Je Skeets
Exactly right. We'll get into that a little bit and we'll end with some rap fun. But we teased this earlier this week. Giannis trades tasks and you put together a few because Giannis has an ultimatum here from the Bucks ownership, I guess, either sign this contract extension this summer or you're getting traded, buddy. That's what they're telling us. I mean, from a couple different people in the organization now. And with the NBA draft lottery complete and June's actual draft right around the corner, the long rumored divorce between the two sides may be coming to an end here. Maybe. Hopefully.
Tas Melas
Yeah, possibly. It feels like it would be tough for them to sit around until October 1st when he can sign that extension. That would be several months of not trading. It sure feels like it has come to an end. So we decided, okay, let's put together a few offers that could be done. Now, there are a few questions going into this. First, where does he want to go? Because I do think the Bucks are going to abide by that.
Je Skeets
Sure.
Tas Melas
Where Giannis wants to play. Second, how much have injuries hurt his trade value?
Je Skeets
Fair.
Tas Melas
Well, we'll talk about that.
Je Skeets
He's 31 years old.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
And it's been injured last couple of seasons running here. Yes, Numerous times.
Tas Melas
Regular season, playoffs, whenever. And third thing is, what do teams actually have to offer?
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
So we'll get into that.
Je Skeets
Yeah. And I want to clarify something because we were like contemplating this contract extension and if he goes to another team, what that means, we have our answer. To that, Giannis has two years left on his current deal right now, second year as a player option. He will be eligible to sign what Tas said there, that four year, $275 million contract extension on October 1st. If he's moved this off season, if he goes to another team traded, Giannis will be eligible for the same extension with a new team, but not until six months after said trade. So if that trade happened the night of the draft, then it's six months after that that he could get to that four year, 275 contract extension. Just wanted to clarify that.
Tas Melas
Yeah, you know, accurate.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
So here we are. Let's go with three potential trades. They're all in the Eastern Conference. I wasn't going to pretend that the Golden State warriors can come and pluck them. I don't buy it. I don't buy the Lakers one. So they're all in the East. We'll talk about some dark horses out there that could be out in the West. But let's start with, with what I think is the best trade, the most viable. The Miami Heat getting Yanis Tend Kupo. Now what would be coming back? Oh, a lot based on money, but I think the Heat is the best one because they got a good player, a young prospect and picks the good player. Tyler Herro, the prospect Klware, Nikola Jovic, more dollars than anything. Kasparis Yakoshonas, another young player, and Drew Smith. Plus I think the 2026 first round pick that they have here would be the number 13 pick also going back. So they get everything. Good player, young prospect, a pick. Now they have the 2031 and 2033 that they could include. The Heat can also swap some picks. This would have to be done on draft day because they can't trade this 2026 number 13 pick until the actual draft. So we wouldn't see it until then. Now, the key for Miami here, they're sending out more money. They have to if they're going to be able to resign Norm Powell and then get some other players in free agency as well, which they'd have to because they'd have. They'd be giving up five players.
Je Skeets
I was going to say you're trading half the team or a third of the team.
Tas Melas
Yeah, it's a lot of. It's a lot of players. But from the Heat side, their team would be Yannis and Bam. At a bio up front, I think Giannis would be happy to play with Bam at Abayo. Your wings would be Andrew Wiggins and Probably Pele Larson, who had a decent season. Your starting point guard would be Davion Mitchell coming off the bench if you resigned. Norman Powell and Jaime Hawkez, those would be your two guys there. Now, why would he go there? I think he would be clearly be the number one player. If you want to. If you want to say that, yeah,
Je Skeets
he goes to basically any spot. He's going to be the number one guy.
Tas Melas
Not every. Not every spot. You go to the Knicks. Are you the number one guy? There's. Well, is it Jalen Brunson's team anyways?
Je Skeets
Regardless, he is on Miami 100%.
Tas Melas
Yes.
Je Skeets
Yes.
Tas Melas
You know the other positives, they haven't won recently. This isn't like going to the Golden State warriors or the Boston Celtics, who will get to as a possibility. It stays in the East. And do they have the team, though? That's a fair question. Is this a team? But I do think he likes the idea of going to a team that hasn't one, you know. Well, you think he cares? I think so. We'll get to Boston. That's a rumor. I think that's a possibility. It's a possibility. See, we'll get to the Knicks, who is a serious possibility. That's the one he wanted to go to. But the Knicks sure feel like they're going to the NBA Finals. In my opinion, as we record this on May 15, is he going to care about that either way? What do you think about this Miami Heat package?
Je Skeets
This has been sort of out there for a long time. I mean, you've tweaked a little things here, but the main piece is Tyler Herro, obviously, as the, you know, the star. You know, I think some people have a interesting definition of star when it comes to Tyler Hero. Is he or isn't he. You know, there's across the spectrum. But anyway, I understand that Khalil wears the prospect than some other ones. And then, yeah, obviously a draft pick. I think with a lot of these, a lot more draft capital needs to be included. This is Giannis here. And I say that knowing or thinking wherever Giannis goes and gets dealt, there's going to be an assurance that he's in theory signing their long term. I think because if the. If. If you see some sort of package and only one pick is coming back, like, and the 13th pick at that, then maybe I'm like, okay, this is like a Raptors Kawhi move, where it's like we're just going for it like said year and we have no assurances. But if there's assurances, which I think there will be, that he'll sign a contract extension, it's going to be so much more draft capital. It has to be.
Tas Melas
They do have.
Je Skeets
It has to be, man. It has to be more picks, more swaps, whatever.
Tas Melas
Yeah, right. Yeah. I didn't, I didn't include the 2031 that they have to offer or the 2033 that they have to have to offer, but those could get thrown in. I think it all sort of depends on, of course, whether or not he's going to resign there, which he wouldn't do for six months at the very earliest. So maybe he's going to feel it out. So there, is there an assurance. I mean, you'll probably get a verbal insurance. I would think so. The other part is the injuries, of course, that has to be a huge factor in today's NBA, especially with his lower extremities. The calf injury that's holding guys back that he's had over and over and over.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
Recently, the last couple years and those playoffs for essentially since they won the championship five years ago. It's a long time. So I, I, So you think that
Je Skeets
you that removes said draft picks, removes said pick swaps A little bit. A little bit.
Tas Melas
Yeah, a little bit. It's hard. It's hard.
Je Skeets
More than one, you know, in my opinion.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
When you, the guy is still like one of the top five players when healthy.
Tas Melas
Yeah, that's the question, man. When healthy. Yeah. So I threw in. When throwing in hero, you know, an all star the season before. Last clue where a young player who is a very good prospect. The first round pick, Caspar, show us. You could look at him as a first pick, but yeah, a second pick could definitely be included in there. But you also don't know if he's going to sign. But I do like the Miami side of things, being that they have all the discipline that they've got in their organization. Miles Turner just on his podcast saying the leader, Janice Tkumbo, was always late for airplane flights, like up to an hour. I mean, he didn't specify how long, but he almost specified that somebody was like three hours late for flights.
Je Skeets
I thought he did sort of specify.
Tas Melas
Yeah, he did.
Je Skeets
He said, what's up with you Greeks, man?
Tas Melas
Yeah, man, I don't know what's going on. I don't know.
Je Skeets
Why is everybody late?
Tas Melas
Literally he made it seem like Giannis showed up hours late for flights over and over and over again to a point where he started showing up an hour late for Flights knowing. All right, we're not leaving.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Why get there?
Tas Melas
Why get there early? So why are you late?
Je Skeets
I'll even admit, Tas Melas doesn't do that with flights.
Tas Melas
I don't know.
Je Skeets
He'd be late to the odd podcast, not to flights.
Tas Melas
Like a private flight. That's strange to me.
Je Skeets
I mean, that is straight up rude.
Tas Melas
I'm sorry. Yeah, a little bit. Yeah.
Je Skeets
That's insane.
Tas Melas
Yeah, it is.
Je Skeets
You're basically saying your time better than my time.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Je Skeets
More important.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
That would rub me the wrong way, you know? That would rub me.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Well, it should. It should. Yeah. It's a little insulting. Yeah, a lot insulting. He didn't say Giannis is the guy who's always late, but he made it seem like he's. He's on Greek time, I guess. Yeah, yeah, he didn't. He didn't go for the name, but he also. He also said, look, hey, kudos to you. If that's your thing and you can get away with it, then kudos to you. But it's really strange. It's just a strange idea.
Je Skeets
It's part of a conversation, though, of also Doc Rivers and the Bucks Organization. Organization. Not holding him accountable to being late to said flights, to practice or, you know, film sessions and stuff like that. It was this idea of, like, Doc was just willy nilly with it.
Tas Melas
Right. Yeah.
Je Skeets
Show up whenever you want.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Which is, like, a little weird.
Tas Melas
Yeah. And maybe. And maybe it was just this past year, the only year Miles Turner has been there, and maybe Giannis was at a point where he. He didn't give a fake, you know, like it has been. It has for his first 12 years in his NBA career. I would find this very odd to even hear something like this.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Yeah.
Tas Melas
But you're 13, maybe him and Brian Stewart, great conversation, fun to listen to.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Miles Turner, he has a podcast with her, I guess.
Tas Melas
So.
Je Skeets
I know Giannis needs to go Hollywood Hulk Hogan here. He needs to, you know, embrace the villain, I think, and I'm kind of creeping towards that. I know, but he needs to fully embrace it, no matter where he ends up here. I think it'd be a lot of fun for the NBA if, like this, you know, happy go lucky, honest guy who everyone did love for a very long time. And I know there's still huge Giannis supporters, yourself included and myself included, too. But, like, it would be fun if he's just like, you know, again, he goes, bad guy. He goes, heel. That'd be great. This is start Dressing in black all the time.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Number one, this is more being late for flights, more of an a hole than a villain. I mean, who wants to play with that? Second, Miami, I guess, would be good for that. And because there's a discipline. But maybe just going to a new location would be good for that, considering what it is. As far as the Hulk hugging Hogan goes. Have you seen the doc?
Je Skeets
I did, yeah. I watched it.
Tas Melas
How was it?
Je Skeets
It was good.
Tas Melas
Oh, yeah?
Je Skeets
Yeah. There's some parts I didn't know about. I mean, it's its whole story, for sure. Okay. The, the most interesting parts to me were Hulk Hogan, young Hulk Hogan coming up, and how he turned into the. The American hero. I thought that was fascinating because I didn't know a lot about that before my time. A little bit.
Tas Melas
Same. Yeah, same.
Je Skeets
But back to the Giannis heat trade. I'm just like, this is how I'm always thinking about these trades you're offering. There's like four things to check and you've gone through a few of these. One from the buck side of things. Yeah. Do they get a young player? Do they get draft picks? And do they. Or do they get like a guy in his prime, like a star player? Okay, so it feels like you've checked that. The second one is this idea that he wants to stay in the Eastern Conference. I mean, those are the reports from Sam Amick. So, yep, check. He needs to go somewhere. He's willing to sign the extension. I believe Miami would be one of those teams. I think they could. So check. And then the final one, and I think again, you sort of were asking me and I didn't answer. He needs to go to a team or I think Giannis wants to go to a team where he's reasonably capable of, of winning a championship sooner rather than later. The guy's 31. He's got the injuries. This is not a long term project. This is not like five years from now. We'll build around. This is like sort of like go time now. And in this hypothetical of Giannis going to south beach, you start to go, is it that much better than Milwaukee? The team.
Tas Melas
The team.
Je Skeets
Is it much better?
Tas Melas
It's better.
Je Skeets
It's Giannis, it's bamboo. It's Andrew Wiggins, it's maybe Norman Powell, like you said, It's Hawkez Jr. It's Damion Mitchell. It's better and it's a better coach. I agree. In Eric Spolster, it's better, but it's. I, I don't if that trade Happens. Are you immediately like the Heater, a championship contender? I don't know, man.
Tas Melas
Well, in the Eastern Conference, it feels like they would enter the conversation. Sure.
Je Skeets
Again, it's healthy and all that.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah. I mean, I mean, it's.
Je Skeets
Are they a top five team in the East, Top four in the East? Probably, yeah.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah. As far as getting to the NBA Finals, I think there is that potential, but that's sort of where it would peak, be being able to get to the NBA Finals at the same time trading all these bodies. Led by Tyler Hero, who is a Wisconsin native. Khalil, where Jovic Yakachonis and Drew Smith, you have more roster spots to fill, so there's that. Maybe they can't even get better, but their starting lineup is extremely solid, something Giannis would be extremely excited to play with. Guys like especially Davion Mitchell, Bam Adebayo, those two guys, as you're one and you're five playing defensively. Yeah. Incredible. You know, he could look at Wiggins and say, hey, this guy was on this, arguably the second best player on a championship team years ago with the Warriors.
Je Skeets
So he.
Tas Melas
Yeah, I think it's. It's kind of fits all those. The check marks you mentioned, especially with this team that hasn't won in a long time. It's been a long time. Does he want to do the same thing as LeBron? I don't know. I'm just entering every single thing in his mindset. You know, LeBron leaving Cleveland, going to win in Miami. I don't know. Just. Just something to think about for him.

Tas Melas
So let's get to the second team, the Boston Celtics, who have entered the conversation especially with the whole post playoff flame up. Yeah, well, as well as the twitch with Jaylen Brown, just. Would he be tradable and he would be the main part going back.
Je Skeets
Yeah, he'd have to be.
Tas Melas
Yeah. They're not trading Tatum, I don't think. I mean he could be, he could be that guy instead of Jalen Brown. Yeah. So Jaylen Brown, basically, as your star, your young player would be Hugo Gonzalez. I threw him in there. A hard working guy. And the 2027 first round pick, they have three picks that can be traded. The 27, the 31 and the 33. They could also trade the number 27 pick in this year's draft again, just like the Heat. It would have to be done on draft day. So stays in the east, shares that sort of number one title with Tatum, just like Jalen Brown did, obviously very successfully. Negative. Maybe he doesn't want to go to team that just won recently. Maybe doesn't want to go to Boston. Yeah, Boston may not be a thing for him. So this one was kind of hard to throw in there, but it's, it's got a little steam so he had to include it.
Je Skeets
Yeah, no, I mean, look, it makes sense on the floor wise. Like Boston is near the top of the NBA in three point attempt rates every single year. I mean that's Missoula ball. Right. They could use some rim pressure to pair with said three point shooting. Yeah, Name me a guy in the NBA that puts more pressure on the rim than Giannis when healthy. I mean you can't. So that makes sense. I think Zach Lowe sort of called this from Milwaukee side of things in getting Jalen Brown for Giannis. It's like the stay relevant trade. And I think there's a lot of truth to that. It's like if you add Jalen Brown to Milwaukee and swapping out Giannis, it's like you do, I think, remain relevant. This is not a complete tear down rebuild like you're trying to still win, trying to be in the conversation for playoffs and all that. And maybe that's something that ownership would want to do because a bunch of these other ones are a little bit more like, wow, really, really tear it down. Start with the young guy, start with the picks and try and build it up again. Try and find another Giannis down the line. But yeah, this is breaking up the Jays here. This is, I mean we're, we're taking a lot from that twitch stream is
Tas Melas
what we're doing here. Yeah, yeah. But also, I don't think there are a lot of worthy places that Yanis could be traded besides New York and Miami, and so had to include this one because what other ones are there? I know I read Bobby Marks on espn breaking down the eight possibilities as, as far as playoff teams go and then two outside the playoffs. Golden State, which doesn't have a lot to be able to get Giannis, especially with the Milwaukee Bucks and their ownership probably wanting to stay relevant. I think that's why this is, this is doable with a guy in Jaylen Brown who said this past year was his best year as the number one guy and the guy that the team went through over and over and over. If you go to Milwaukee, you got that, my man. I mean, you can take every shot you want. So there's that possibility. They got more picks, which, as I mentioned, think would.
Je Skeets
One more or something. A future would have to be included here. It feels like probably you're convinced, like, I don't know. I guess some people are like, jalen Brown is just as good as Giannis. I think some people would say that to you with a straight face at this point in their careers. Now, I do not agree with that.
Tas Melas
Okay. I, I don't agree with that either. But availability, even though I, I hate that saying, is an important ability here. And Jaylen Brown plays literally the playoffs since the championship for Yanis Santokounbo. He has been hurt for a lot of them. So I don't know how many draft picks Brad Stevens would be willing to give up. Right. But maybe, maybe, maybe he would be willing to throw in a second there and a different player. But they have a lot of depth, so they would be a championship contender right away.
Je Skeets
Yes.
Tas Melas
I don't, I don't know what Giannis is thinking as far as a team that, you know, won a couple years ago, it's three years ago now, where they were able to do it two years ago. What am I talking. They were able to do it. So, you know, there's that part of it.
Je Skeets
Bobby Marks did note the Celtics have cleaned up their finances from a year ago here and are allowed to take back more salary in a trade and also aggregate contracts. So those were two major hurdles cleared for a potential Yanis trade or a big type of trade. Boston, $21 million below the first apron with 14 players under contract. So they've done a good job, of course, of cleaning up those books. What we thought was the gap year, we're going to be the down year, still competitive year. And then they blew the 31 lead to Nick Nurse's Sixers there. So that was sort of like a weird ending to their season that nobody saw coming. We thought for sure they would take on the take on the Knicks.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
In the second round. They didn't.
Tas Melas
And that's why I probably just, you know, buying into the hype of Brad Stevens and how smart he's been being able to drop Kristaps Porzingis and Drew Holiday after winning a championship, playing it so perfectly and then dealing those parts that he dealt for those guys or he received for those guys. It's been incredible. So I was kind of buying the. Oh, man. Brad Stevens playing chess here and be willing to, more importantly, be willing to go for it. With Jason Tatum and Yanis at Umbo as your top two and Milwaukee, how could they say no? How could they say no if. If Jaylen Brown, in comparison to a Tyler Hero. I mean, we'll get to the Knicks. He could be the best player being offered out there for Giannis.
Je Skeets
I'm taking Jalen Brown over Tyler Hero.
Tas Melas
Oh, yeah, no doubt. Of course. Yes. Yeah, yeah. So, okay, let's get to the Knicks package. Who would be offering, depending on where they go here in, in the, in the playoffs here, because they haven't been eliminated here on May 15th.
Je Skeets
This is a TBD trade for sure.
Tas Melas
A little. A little bit. Yeah. I know everyone's saying Cat would be the primary guy going back, but I didn't include him. I went with Giannis, goes to the Knicks, The Bucks receive OG Anunoby, a guy who's two years younger than Cat. Josh Hart, Tyler Kolek, the 2026 first round pick, which is a number 24 pick, and their 2033 first round pick. I guess I felt the need that there would be two draft picks here along with OG Josh Hart and Tyler Kolik.
Je Skeets
This is pretty, pretty gross. But. But New York was the only team Giannis was willing to play for the biggest, Milwaukee. So if he forces their hand, then, you know, it could be something like this. But compared to the other ones, I do not love this from Milwaukee side of things.
Tas Melas
They don't get the player. I mean, you get a good player in OG2 draft picks. It would be odd, I think, to. For Giannis and Cat to swap spots. It just feels like an odd trade for me for the Milwaukee Bucks. What are they going after with a guy who's 30 plus at that time? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. So, you know, I'll just give this information here. They. They also have the right to swap firsts in three years for three years. So there's more things to throw in the package here. But it is just a little strange because it's all dependent where the Knicks go from here. I know my baseline was if they get to the Finals, I don't think they make the trade.
Je Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melas
Even though James Dolan, as the Knicks owner said, you know, it's NBA Finals or bust, some people said, well, that's a championship or bust. Like we. We would be willing to give up whatever for a guy like Yanis de Kubo. But after all that success, I think if they get to the NBA Finals, which I do think they will, over the Cavs or Pistons as we record. I don't know if this happens at all. I don't know how you break it up.
Je Skeets
So you think the only way this actually happens is if they get. They lose by the Cavs or Pistons?
Tas Melas
Yeah, I know some have said they have to win a championship. Art Trey said they have to win a championship. Otherwise they're making a trade for Yanis and Gouvo. I guess that's a possibility.
Je Skeets
I think they would make this trade.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Je Skeets
I mean, but then I, Yeah, I say that, but the Knicks would be losing basically, you know, two of their main pieces that have gotten them and grown them into this team that is at least competing for championships. They're not their superstars in Cat and Brunson, but og I mean, he's been a revelation this playoffs. And then Josh Hart is like their soul of their team. So you are removing those that's. You're going to have a drastic impact on your roster and your locker room and stuff like that. But then again, maybe Giannis is enough to be like, yeah, let's do it. We're right there. We're right on the doorstep. It's basically, it's in that regard, it's very similar to the Raptors going and get Kawhi. The Raptors were a good team. People forget that they were a very good team. Couldn't get over the LeBron hump. It helped that he left the conference, but then they added Kawaii and that was the missing piece. It was like, oh, yeah, the superstar to win his games at the end.
Tas Melas
Yeah. So depending what other teams have to offer is. Is what the Bucks front office has to be thinking about. If the Knicks have three picks that they can give here or that they want to give Am I incorrect? I think I'm incorrect in saying that. I think they only have two picks
Je Skeets
pick which is a 24 garbage. I mean it's at the end of the first round.
Tas Melas
24. Yeah.
Je Skeets
And then they have a 2033 first round swaps. They don't have a lot of picks but they have a bunch of swaps.
Tas Melas
They can, they can swap you. Yeah. I don't know what Milwaukee is going to be deciding between here because we aren't in their front office. John Horse won't answer my call. No, I'm kidding. But it's all dependent what the Bucks want to do. Do they want to just say give us as many picks as possible? We haven't got into three team deal possibilities of. There's, there's chatter of the Blazers throwing in the Bucks picks that they owe them and you know, somehow getting a player where they can get off Jeremy Grant getting other players. So I didn't go into the three team deal thingies because there's one with
Je Skeets
Jaylen Brown in the Celtics too. Or maybe Jaylen Brown comes to Atlanta. Some of the, some of the key pieces from Atlanta go to Milwaukee. From Atlanta, more draft capital like recession, Kaminga. I mean you can make it work.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Giannis to Boston, Jalen Brown to Atlanta and then a bunch of young prospects picks to Milwaukee. But yeah, you're right.
Tas Melas
Yeah, dude. Yeah. I could see the Milwaukee Bucks just wanting picks and not wanting to go the route of trying to basically trying to pull a, you know, like the Washington Wizards for instance or if you have the possibility of trying to pull an OKC where you get a Shay and building from the bottom up that way. Sure, you try that. I, I don't see a player like that that's even comparable.
Je Skeets
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Hugo Gonzalez or Tyler Kolek or Khalil Ware even are not turning into a two time mvp.
Tas Melas
What about a Hawk? Is there a Hawk?
Je Skeets
I mean, I don't think recess is going to be that. No.
Tas Melas
Well, it's not that recess. I believe in some Reese Sashay. But as far as. Yeah, a player like that. So maybe they just go bottom up and just try and get little pieces plus picks. So I thought those three trades were viable. Depending on the Knicks can offer. It's an interesting part.
Je Skeets
But this, this Knicks one, I mean,
Tas Melas
would you rather have cat?
Je Skeets
No, I was just going to say I think it only happens if Giannis and his agency and his team are like really telling the rest of the league. I'M only going there forcing the Bucks to have to deal with the New York Knicks to then in theory take back sort of a crap platter here. But that's the honest saying. I'm only going to New York because they're telling all the other teams basically, stay away from me because I'm not going to be signing with you a contract extension. And then you're like, well, then we're not going to give up a whole lot. So that's him forcing their hand, I think.
Tas Melas
So can they not. Can they not improve their crap platter and be a primo crap the end. The, the only other possibilities are Cat, essentially or Mikhail Bridges. I don't think they're not trading Jalen Brunson.
Je Skeets
No.
Tas Melas
So it.
Je Skeets
Does that excite you?
Tas Melas
I mean, yeah, I, I included OG Hart and Colic because I think that's the most viable. And you're right as far as Giannis and Alex Sirazis and their agency saying New York, New York only.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
And I tried to make Western Conference teams pick or work, I should say. I couldn't really do it. And the warriors don't have a ton to offer. Doesn't seem like they have the complete package. Lakers pretty similar. I mean, there's picks. There's picks.
Je Skeets
So Rockets.
Tas Melas
Yeah, the Rockets thing, that three team deal. There's a Shen in another direction. And you replaced Sengun with Giannis, essentially. I mean, there's, there's a lot of working parts.
Je Skeets
It's just stupid to go west if you're honest. If your whole point is to win a second ring, do not go west. Your chances are going to be so much better in the Eastern Conference. Like obviously I'm not. This is not breaking news like that. That is smart. If your goal is to win a second ring, which he has said on record, do not go west. I mean, it's just a bloodbath. Stay in the east and hopefully get there and then obviously have to beat a team four times out of seven, whoever comes out of the West. So that makes sense.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Now the Cavaliers are in the Eastern Conference.
Tas Melas
They are.
Je Skeets
They're still playing. They might go to the conference finals tonight, but there have been rumors, or at least when they were struggling. Would you trade Evan Mobley, Sam Merrill and a couple of draft picks for Yanis?
Tas Melas
Yeah. If you could.
Je Skeets
And I think if you're the Bucks, I don't think that's atrocious. Evan Mobley as the key piece, as you know, your new building block. It's not nothing.
Tas Melas
It's not nothing. No. Yeah. I don't know if he wants to stay in the Midwest because he just played in Milwaukee.
Je Skeets
It's.
Tas Melas
He's mentioned big city after big city after big city. That's why I thought Boston of all these teams ain't the big city. You know, the Knicks and the Miami.
Je Skeets
Boston. Massive market, though.
Tas Melas
It's a massive market, no doubt. But yeah, I think the Knicks in Miami were. Are more viable just for his Persona. His. His. Who he is. We'll see. But yeah, the Cleveland one, there's a lot of moving parts there too. Is it as simple as Mobley Merrill? And I think it works.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
I think where you rather have Meryl. You're. You're. You're not Meryl. You're. You're an anti Mobley guy.
Je Skeets
I know, I know. I mean, I can't believe you were the one like sort of scrunching your face up to Mobley being the main piece. I thought I was the Mobley hater here.
Tas Melas
Well, Mobley, I called him disappointing this season because everybody thought that he was going to take a next step, take a guy, take a step where he would be the guy they go to in late game situations. But that hasn't happened. But in the short role, just let that man work.
Je Skeets
24 years old. This is like we're naming Jaylen Brown in his prime. OG obviously older and not even on 28.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Not on their level, though. Tyler Hero. Younger, but again, Evan Mobley. I mean, like, again, I'm the Mobley hater, but that's a pretty damn good piece at his age. Defensive identity. You know, you start to envision building a team around him at least. Maybe he's not your 1A guy, but you're trying to find your sort of score to pair with them.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
I don't think it's brutal. No, but. But then again, the Cavs are getting to the point here where they're also like, what? Why would we. This is working. We might get over a hump here. I mean, I'm getting ahead of myself. We might get to the conference finals.
Tas Melas
Yeah, maybe.
Je Skeets
Whatever. They beat the Knicks. Who knows? You know, one injury changes series like that too. Like a Brunson ankle injury and you find yourself in the finals. Maybe.
Tas Melas
Yeah, so, yeah, that's possible. Or they could be an Atlanta hawks of. Of 21 or a Portland Trailblazers that get to a conference final. Yeah, one of those. But Janice doesn't want to go to Cleveland. I could be wrong. I could be very wrong. But yeah, that's why I kind of leaned away from that.
Je Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melas
Either way, some fun ones here.
Je Skeets
The only other. And it's a West coast sort of wildcard team and you slipped it in there. The Blazers, I see coming up. Just because Portland controls Milwaukee's draft future, that's the main part from the Lillard trade. The Blazers have swap rights in 28, 29 and 30. And Portland could also offer an unprotected 28 first round pick by way of the Magic. You have new owner syndrome. Maybe in Tom Dundon, he's a cheapskate. But you get new owners and they're like, let's. We can get Giannis, let's go. You know, there's that.
Tas Melas
And he recently said, I make big moves.
Je Skeets
Okay. And, and, and they have not only draft capital, but they have young players, I think that are enticing to a team like Milwaukee, be it sharp or Kamara or clinging or like whatever. Like there's some Scoot Henderson, there's pieces. But like, why. Why would Giannis go to Portland? I can't get.
Tas Melas
It's a big question.
Je Skeets
I can't get past that part.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
So I. It's unlikely, but why not?
Tas Melas
Yeah. And that's why we have. Why he wouldn't want to go to Portland. Maybe start looking at the Clippers as a possibility because I start to buy into that a little bit. The Los Angeles era or the whole Los Angeles vibe. Environment. Not, not era. The environment that. That city I think he is attracted to. But also you go to the Clippers and could win their first championship and be the guy who brought them there. So I started looking at that. It ain't easy to do because of how much money they got tied up in Kawhi, in Garland and friends. It's not easy to do, but you could especially get a third team involved. There's some picks. I think Garland would be the main piece going back. If it was just one for one, then they wouldn't have a guard. Ryan Rollins could come back anyway. They could make it. I just market wise, I think that's a good. That's a good opportunity, I think for Janice. But as far, I guess then. Then here comes in there. Hey, it's not direct to Athens or it's far to get to Athens if that's a thing that Janice cares about.
Je Skeets
I can't believe you didn't include the Toronto Raptors here in a hypothetically. Honest.
Tas Melas
Yeah, no, it does sort of make sense, doesn't it?
Je Skeets
Start and end with Milwaukee going. Yeah, we'll do that, but give us Scotty Barnes. And then it's like, what do we. Then it's almost like, what are we doing here? They're going to want to keep Scotty Barnes to pair with Giannis. I don't think they're like, take anybody else and draft picks and we'll do it. But they're like, no. So. And maybe that's sort of similar to Cleveland with Evan Mobley. I mean, I'm just sort of throwing Mobley in there. Like they would trade him like that. I don't. I don't think that's the case.
Tas Melas
Probably. Okay. Yeah. The honest trades, Yannis traits.
Je Skeets
Are people happy about us talking about Yanis trades? That's the real question. You tell us, thumbs up, leave a comment.
Tas Melas
We're going to be doing it for six weeks.
Je Skeets
You think this happens before or at the. At the draft?
Tas Melas
I think so.
Je Skeets
You do?
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
All right. All right.
Tas Melas
Well, yeah. I.
Je Skeets
You don't think this will drag out all summer?
Tas Melas
All summer? Well, that would be a long summer. It could be. It could, yeah.
Je Skeets
All right.
Tas Melas
Depending on the contract.
Je Skeets
I hope you're right. And if I am a betting man, I have been saying it for a long time, so I'm doubling, tripling down. I think it is the Miami deal. I think there's some Miami package that gets them there. A lot more draft capital included than what you had on the board. That's fine. I get all that. But there will be assurances that he'll give it a go there with Bam, with the other pieces like you went
Tas Melas
through and with Pat Riley.
Je Skeets
I think it's just the most realistic. It makes the most sense.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Pat. He's going to buy into Pat Riley. Pat Riley getting towards the end of his career. He'll go for it. Giannis will buy in. I think. Yeah. I do think not having one recently, that's part of it. Yeah. The. The offer technically going through spot track would be hero where Jovic Yakos, Drew Smith and however many picks they want to give 1 to 3 is. Is their offer. Is that enough? It's enough for the Miami Heat to then start to, you know, put some pieces around Giannis. Bam. Davion, Mitchell, Wiggins, Pelly Larson, Norman Powell that they bring back. Jaime Hawkes, they're top. Top three team, I think, in the Eastern Conference. I think they can get there.
Je Skeets
Well, let's hear what you guys think. Call your shot with the honest trade. Who's got the best trade package? Where's he going? All that jazz. We're gonna take a break. When we come back, bunch of NBA news.
Tas Melas
This show is brought to you by Fanduel. I got my Cade Cunningham over 30 points for game five.
Je Skeets
Yeah, you nailed that.
Tas Melas
Yeah. So I decided to think about the same thing going to game six where Donovan Mitchell didn't have an incredible game five. Same with Cade. Coming off a game before that where he wasn't kicking ass because he only had 14 points in regulation. Donovan Mitchell, you know, picked it up in overtime, but just 14 points. But then I saw he closed that with the Raptors with 22, so couldn't do it.
Je Skeets
Staying away.
Tas Melas
I couldn't do it. Maybe he's been machine like James Harden said this whole series. Maybe he's got a rest. He's not going to be able to do it. So I didn't do it. Instead, I'll do a FanDuel happy hour. We're talking special drops you won't want to miss. From profit boosts to bonus bets and more. And the best part, there's a happy hour every single day. You want to be happy for one hour a day. There you go.
Je Skeets
I'm happy for this hour every day.
Tas Melas
Same.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
FanDuel, an official partner of the NBA,
Je Skeets
the NBA, said Thursday yesterday that officials were correct in note calling a foul on Jared Allen in the closing seconds of regulation of Game 5 between the Cavs and Pistons in Detroit. The last two minutes report said, quote, Allen and Asar Thompson legally stepped to the same spot while pursuing the loose ball before either player has possession and both lose their balance from the marginal contact. And quote, they got it right. They're saying, tony Brothers, you got it right. You now have our endorsement for mayor of Norfolk, Virginia. We debated, obviously, the no call. And I think I'm speaking for all of us. We were like, yeah, good. No call. That was sort of a loose ball variety. Yeah. A trip happened. Yeah. You maybe get that call in the regular season, but not to decide a pivotal game five here. Maybe let them play it out. They did and they say they got it right because of how the contact all happened. Sort of chasing down the loose ball.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Definitely unfortunate for sir Thompson going to the floor when he was ready to do something with the ball. He was ready to do something with one second left, but it was incidental. It is just one second left in the game. It is 75ft from.
Je Skeets
What was he gonna do? He was gonna either have to chuck it up.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Or I think he was gonna. Yeah. Try and kick it ahead. I. I'm skeptical they would have had enough time to agree. Kick it ahead. I forget who was even down there to then get the shot up.
Tas Melas
Yeah, I think. I think he was making eye contact with the clock at the other side of the floor even before Jared Allen's feet hit his. And he was ready to. I guess he had like a second half. He's probably going to chuck it up to somebody else to try and throw it up. But 75ft away from the basket, it was difficult to call that. I do agree. Now, Pistons can be using this for game six as their motivator. Over and over and over and over again. Played 100 times before the game today. JB Bickerstaff put it right in front of them. Get the broadcasters call. It was Tim Legler who said, quote, that's a trip right there. That's a trip right there. Just play it over and over and over again. Imagine if you could have. On the defensive end, you could have the ability to have a little earbud while you're playing. You could just play that over and over again. That's a trip right there. Just to have you, you know, motivated in this.
Je Skeets
The problem is they tripped over their. Their own damn feet for the three minutes prior to that.
Tas Melas
Nice.
Je Skeets
So watch that tape. Because you botched it. You blew it. So, I mean, that game was for the winning. You had it. You outplayed them for a majority of the game. It was a great Pistons game. And then you just shot the bet at the end and then obviously it was formality in overtime because you, like, gave it away.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
So, like, no doubt.
Tas Melas
There's no doubt about that.
Je Skeets
Yeah. And can they. And now we go. Oh, can they recover from that?
Tas Melas
Oh, absolutely.
Je Skeets
Can they get it back to Detroit? Two possible closeout games tonight. Cavs trying to wrap it up in six. Spurs trying to wrap it up in six in Minnesota. That one. Those are on tonight. We're going to be here tomorrow, Tas and I, in the classic factory to talk about those games. Little Saturday podcast for you.
Tas Melas
That's how much this is a happy hour. We can do it on a Saturday. Yeah. Because these are fun, fun game sixes. I think it is over for the Pistons. I think that was their series right there. I do find it funny the. The Cavs quote saying that's a sign of our progress that we came back from that nine point deficit with three minutes left in one overtime. I mean, come on. That really. It was the Pistons falling apart a little bit. And I went through, going through every single play from the Cavs Offensive side, it worked out so perfectly well. Like the. The.
Je Skeets
There's a lot of, like, lost balls
Tas Melas
that went right back that they recovered so well. That was. Was. That was amazing. You know, I'm starting to think of the hand of God, of Maradona when looking at the way they were able to.
Je Skeets
World Cup.
Tas Melas
Yeah. It's common.
Je Skeets
It's almost here, isn't it? Like a month?
Tas Melas
Like a month, yeah.
Je Skeets
You're gonna go down here in Atlanta?
Tas Melas
Highly unlikely.
Je Skeets
No.
Tas Melas
Stand outside, I guess.
Je Skeets
Go to a bar and watch it. It's just fun. Probably more.
Tas Melas
Probably more fun.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
But I think it's over for the Pistons after that ending. Well, it's just heartbreaking. Heartbreaking for them and how they got there to those three minutes left and then they didn't score.
Je Skeets
Right. Yeah, that was rough. But they've been in this position already this postseason. They had to go to Orlando and went on the road to get it back to Detroit. They did that and they obviously won it in game seven. So they're like, we can do this. We've done this. Now the Cavs are a much better team than Orlando. They're awesome at home. I mean, I guess Orlando was good at home, too, but they haven't lost yet. Cleveland hasn't in Cleveland. So that's going to be a tough task here. They're going to really need to hope for a bad James Harden game, though. He's playing really, really well. Like you said, another quiet Donovan Mitchell game. Decisions to be made with. How much are we playing Jalen Duran if he's giving us next to nothing? Does Bickerstaff go to Paul Reed a lot earlier? Maybe beef stew even more. That's obviously a big decision here tonight in game six.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Let's check the officials report. The injury report.
Je Skeets
Do you have that bookmarked at this point?
Tas Melas
Let's see. Yeah, it's ready at all times. Oh, no. It's the last update. Okay. I thought the Last update was 7 Eastern, but it's 1045 Eastern. Duncan Robinson's still questionable. I don't like that for them.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
Danish Jenkins was freaking great coming in.
Je Skeets
Yeah, but they hit like. And didn't they shoot like 11 to 33 from deep in game five? Like, not great. Duncan.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Duncan at least spaces. Excuse me. Spaces the floor and obviously can hit threes.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Kevin Herder, who came in to replace him, not so good. I can't and I. He's. He's already on the list. He's questionable for himself. His adductor Strain and carousel. Vert, also questionable.
Je Skeets
But he's got that heel, right?
Tas Melas
Yeah, he's got that heel.
Je Skeets
So. And just quickly, do you think the spurs also close it out tonight here?
Tas Melas
Yeah, I do.
Je Skeets
Okay. I do not. I believe in Anthony Edwards.
Tas Melas
You should.
Je Skeets
And the target, you know, tough thing to do, put the team to bed. And spurs are awesome, but I think they got one more in them. I hope we get a game one, Game seven here, too, in the semifinals. I guess that's me projecting. All right, our next piece of news here. This is. Takes a little bit of a setup, but on March 31st. All right, we're going back to the end of March. LeBron James captured his 1,229th victory of his career. That's combining the regular season and the playoffs that gave him the NBA record. He passed Kareem Abdul Jabbar for first place by himself in the same game, though Luka and Rui, they added to the celebration of that victory, topping 15,000 and 5,000 points, respectively, during the contest. So just this week, ESPN's Dave McMenamin reported that JJ Redick in the locker room recognized the accomplishments of everybody and was like, yeah, you don't give it up for LeBron. Yeah, give it up for Luke. Yeah, give it up for Rui. But then GM Rob Palinka, you know, strode into the room, had the game ball, and instead of handing it to LeBron or at least one of the other guys, that players, Polinka gave it to Redick, who had just stood watch over his 100th coaching win. And I guess, according to Dave McMenamin, Pelinka's decision drew the ire of LeBron James. He believed the move was another example of the Lakers taking him for granted. There's a lot more in this, but that's sort of like the main takeaway that LeBron feels slighted, I guess, by Pelinka and the Lakers. That's what this story is. Dave McMenamin is tied at the hip with LeBron James.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
So there's a reason this is out here. You sort of at the stop at the start of the show were like, this is a. What did you say?
Tas Melas
I didn't say a dumb story. I just don't buy. I mean, it's the level of how angry he was or not. If, you know, Dave rolled with the story that he didn't like it. I suppose he could. He could have mentioned it once in a little as a little ad lib, but I don't think he was really Upset about it.
Je Skeets
Well, you know, he like stormed out of the locker, you know, whatever. He left in a hurry. It bothered him, I guess. But it's like, why are we getting this now? What's the point of this? That's what you always got to do with a LeBron story, especially one tied as closely as the writer is to him. Like, is this just like the, the breadcrumb start of him, like, leaving, I guess, going to another team, which a lot of us think anyway. What, what is the purpose of this? I think it's because this is weird.
Tas Melas
Yeah. I think it's more. So the Lakers have been eliminated, but we got a LeBron story if we want one where we can, you know, kind of string this along a little bit. But I don't think it's necessarily, as you said, the breadcrumb that you drop before he starts leaving. If he wants to leave, he'll. He'll go to Cleveland, I guess. But.
Je Skeets
Yeah, but LeBron never does anything like, quiet, so to speak. Like, it's always. There's always like, they slighted me or this or whatever or the reason also, by the way, like, they don't. I don't think they took you for granted. I know.
Tas Melas
Not a question. That's.
Je Skeets
That's more your son plays on the frickin team. I think they accommodated you accordingly. Yeah, maybe he's like, look, man, I'm 41 years old and I'm still hooping and I'm still great. And like, I don't know, maybe I'm getting almost not pushed aside, but like, whatever, it's Lucas team. And then maybe it's Reeves and it's like, I'm still fricking LeBron. I'm still awesome. And he feels upset about that. I don't know. It's weird.
Tas Melas
Weird one. It is weird. Yeah. I just can't buy that he was that upset that this is it. I'm done with this franchise. I'm done with this organization. It may have been odd for him to sit there and say, okay, give the coach 100 the. With the congratulations ball for 100 wins. But also acknowledge me too. Say, hey, yeah, congratulations. And I think that's all it is. If he's literally, you know, I. I can't.
Je Skeets
Yeah, I don't think he's upset at J.J. redick at all. And then the article makes that very clear. Like, they have a great relationship, obviously. Yeah, Podcast bros.
Tas Melas
But I don't think this is the end all. Be all of him in the organization. If anything, he May have literally, I think he could have just slipped this comment to somebody and said, well, it's weird that they didn't give me a ball. They always give me a ball story, man. So I think that could be it. Okay, but is he leaving the Lakers? That's totally a different scenario. And I don't think he. He feels like he needs to be anointed. Anointed as like the number one guy, the messiah of some organization. Now he knows that if he's going to win anything, then he needs somebody really good beside him.
Je Skeets
Okay, so the Cavs need to trade Mobley for giannis and then LeBron needs
Tas Melas
to go back to Cleveland on a minimum deal.
Je Skeets
Yeah, do it again.
Tas Melas
Cleveland.
Je Skeets
This is also for you. Also, did you read Candace Buckner's article on the athletic and her hot take, which I thought was a great take, an interesting take.
Tas Melas
I read the headline because you guys read it. Oh, I got to read that.
Je Skeets
That LeBron, in order to beat Father Time, which LeBron actually just needs to retire because that in a weird way is a victory. Because no one actually can beat Father Time as the older you go and the longer you play. And the inevitable will happen. In theory, you know, a drastic injury, a complete drop off of your skills and your powers. Like it happened to every single athlete we've ever loved and watched. So for him to beat Father Time, he actually needs to quit.
Tas Melas
I mean, that was at the right time. Yep, that's fine.
Je Skeets
It's sort of. It's like going out on top. No, it's like he's not really going out on top because they lost in the playoffs. But he is still elite at his age. So it's that part. So what, you agree with that take?
Tas Melas
Sure. The way, the way it, the story will be written about his 23 year career will end with. Yeah, even if he didn't win this year, it still will end with all the stories about every play he made that looked fantastic. If you're watching a video clip like I'm sure ESPN will be putting together, you're seeing some incredible plays. The dunks, the alley oops, the passes. So yes, in theory, it does equal to what Candace Buckner said. I mean, it is, it is equivalent.
Je Skeets
The counter is though. LeBron going anywhere. Back to Cleveland, to Golden State. Frick, I don't know. Pick a team. Whatever he does here at the end of his career, it's not going to tarnish his legacy. It's going to have no impact. The only thing that can happen is he actually wins. Another title. Like, he has nothing left to basically prove or accomplish outside of chasing the ghost of Michael Jordan. Six championship rings, which at this point, it's not. He's not winning multiple. He's not winning three. Right. He's not going to surpass him.
Tas Melas
I agree.
Je Skeets
So it's like, who. It's like, it's sort of, who cares? Like, when it's all said, it is done. We don't go, oh, Tom Brady, 8, 9 in his last season. Man, that ruined everything. Like, we don't even. Jordan. We don't. We just pretended like the wizard stuff didn't happen. He was still even half decent. But, you know, that was not making the playoffs and whatever. It's just like, it doesn't really matter. We just go, ah, that's sort of sad. Our hero, this super athlete, suddenly looks human. And it's like, nobody likes that. We're all like, oh, that's a bit of a bummer. And we're like, I don't worry about it. Who cares? We just won't remember that 30 years from now.
Tas Melas
Yeah. This isn't the possibility of entering a dunk contest for LeBron James. That's.
Je Skeets
Wow, that would be amazing.
Tas Melas
Well, I just mean the idea of. It's a no win situation. You're being incredible dunker. But it's way more of a, oh, you could screw up in this scenario. It's the opposite. It's really. This is a no lose situation. As you said. You can go play anywhere and it's fine. But it was a great article from Candace Bunker. It's a great take.
Je Skeets
I think it's a fascinating.
Tas Melas
Yeah. The idea of him retiring. I mean, that's, I think, the more interesting part, the idea of him retiring at 23 seasons. Maybe he wants to retire with that number or maybe he wants to beat it, you know, like Kobe did with a number 24 on his back. Maybe he wants to play 24 seasons, that. That whole thing, but obviously he's really, really capable physically to at least give it a go for one more year. And I agree. Even if he falls apart in January, no one's going to really remember that.
Je Skeets
No, but we don't want that either. Like, I don't want him to like going down for one of these dunks and his knee completely blows out and that's how it ends. That would be a bummer.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Again, it would have no impact on his standing in the goat discussion. But. But no one. We don't want to see that. Right. So, I mean, there is some. There is something powerful like him walking away still being one of the. I don't know. Where do you put LeBron? Is he still a top 15 player in the league? In the playoffs? He feels like he is, you know, whatever. Top 25. Top 20. He's easily that. What am I saying? He's that.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
He's maybe not an 82 game player now, but how can you blame him?
Tas Melas
Good comment here from the Stream team. With all due respect, LeBron could theoretically win the 27 dunk contest the way this past year's contest went.
Je Skeets
He could.
Tas Melas
From Ink Hog. Neat.
Je Skeets
Excuse me?
Tas Melas
Neatowe. Incognito. W e. I mean, yeah, you got me with the spelling. You got me with the spelling.
Je Skeets
Wow, you're right.
Tas Melas
He probably right.
Je Skeets
He could go in it and just throw down like he. One cool dunk. He does in one dunk. Nice little reverse down the lane.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
And I think we would just give it to him.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Like it's like. Yeah, okay. It's yours.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Sorry. Keisha Johnson. You know?
Je Skeets
Yes.

final piece of news here. Sort of goes hand in hand with LeBron being at the end of his career or maybe deciding to hang it up. And I'm talking about Steve Kerr because he told ESPN's Wright Thompson that he was 95% certain about retiring ahead of the warriors playing tournament against the Clippers on April 15th. Reportedly said I think it's over the day before the game. But then one day later, one win later, Kerr had apparently changed his mind. And that's the headline here, that he was basically looking like he was done and they won. And that was like that big game. They came back, they sort of like were going nuts. Like, whoo. That was like, that was like the Dynasty warriors, that game with Steph and them. Now they went on to lose the next playing game. But this is a great article, a lengthy, incredible article there where Wright Thompson got to spend a ton of time with Steve Kerr and like you said, it's like about his entire life. Yeah. Any thoughts on this? We now know Kerr is at least signed a two year deal here, so he's going to keep coaching for a couple. Couple years.
Tas Melas
Yeah, a year longer than Steph is currently signed for. But it feels like those two are tied together forever. So Curry sure should be signing some form of extension there to be lined up with Kerr. They convinced him to come on back and basically build the organization back up for the future. I think that's why I'm sort of not into the whole Giannis idea. They want to win, sure. But I think part of why Steve Kerr agreed to two years is that, yeah, we'll give it another shot. But also you want to leave a legacy here to, to basically improve our situation as much as possible. But I am surprised that after every single year we talk about the, the, the possibility of the end of the warriors that Steve Kerr did come back in general. I thought he did want to go. Was buying the hugs to some degree at the end of the season there. But you know, just like it says in the article, sometimes you want a regular eggs breakfast and sometimes you say, hey, you know what, I'll have a patty melt.
Je Skeets
Oh, wow.
Tas Melas
Because he always orders just a standard breakfast, all of a sudden, bang. He ordered a patty melt.
Je Skeets
You crazy, Steve.
Tas Melas
Nice at it. That was a nice, nice note.
Je Skeets
There are so many fun little nuggets in this article, starting with the idea of retire or not to retire. Though he said, quote, how am I going to feel exactly a year from now? This is when he was contemplating maybe two years from now. Because the job itself is so addictive. You want to trust yourself but also be suspicious of your own motives. You don't want to walk away too early, but you don't want to walk away too late. And you worry about what your life is going to feel like. I mean, I like we never played professional sports, but you'd have to imagine as a professional athlete or a coach in Kerr's case, that's it. Right? That's what it is. These are the most competitive people on the planet. They are routine based people because they've had to be their entire lives. And I think that concept of once you take that away, it's like, what am I? What do I do? And I miss that part of it. And that's why we. That's why we have the. All of these superstars trying to hold on at the end. Because I think there's a lot of fear in, like, what's after this. I thought it was just a great quote, a really fun part of this article. Three years ago, to entertain himself in press conferences, Steve Kerr worked phrases from Taylor Swift's song all too well into his interview answers, smoothly enough that nobody noticed. So, for instance, to get the first line of the song, he took the podium after beating the Rockets in March of 2023. And he said, quote, I walked through the door of the locker room at halftime. So I walked through the door, I guess a part of that Taylor Swift song. So over a long season, he got most of the lyrics done, and he was crossing them off as he went. His son Matthew later edited them into a video for their family group chat so that Kerr basically appeared to recite or sing the whole song. This found its way to Taylor Swift.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah.
Je Skeets
You know, through acquaintances or whatever. She wanted to, like, post it to social media, but Steve Kerr was like, please don't do that. Anyway, I thought that was Hulk.
Tas Melas
That's incredible. It was hilarious.
Je Skeets
Now it's just got me thinking, are other coaches doing this? We gotta start, go and crunch the tape on all these press conferences, Try and find if there's other songs being, like, subliminally sung to us.
Tas Melas
That note, that one lyric, I walk through the door, you would never say,
Je Skeets
oh, I know that.
Tas Melas
I know that lyric from T. Swift. But incredibly done. And it just proves that coming to the podium every single day, you need something to spice it up a little bit. And so he did a great job. It's like when we got Brent Berry at a summer league game to use some of the things that we wrote for.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Just sprinkle these into the broadcast.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
JD
And it worked.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
For instance. And whatever else we have.
Tas Melas
Yeah. And it was well done.
Je Skeets
My other takeaway, my final takeaway from this very lengthy article. Steve Kerr loves beer. Oh, I could not believe how many beer mentions were in this article. It was great to the point I started writing them down. These were all the different beers named in this article. Modelo, Grolsh, Acehi, Pliny the Elder, Corona. There's a. There's a line that says, he finished through this. He fished through the Stellas, Pacificos, and Modelos to find a Kona longboard. And then red stripes and I think I might be missing a couple. This guy just loves a cold beer. I respect the hell out of him for it. I just listed like eight beers in one article.
Tas Melas
That's a classic California man for you. Was that the last one?
Je Skeets
I see those long he red stripe at the end.
Tas Melas
No, but the Longwood. What was that?
Je Skeets
Kona longboard.
Tas Melas
Longboard, yeah.
Je Skeets
Yeah, he was fishing through the Stellas, Pacificos, and Modelos to find one. Anyway, there's great little anecdotes there in this article. Well, we should link to this in the show notes. You got to read this one, guys. Related news with the warriors top two assistants, Terry Stotts, Jerry Stackhouse departing the franchise.
Tas Melas
Yeah, I read that.
Je Skeets
So there's like a refreshing, you know, of sorts with his staff.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Lily Green might come back. They're saying there's a couple other names, Right? Yeah.
Tas Melas
And that was part of the conversation with Joe lacob. I'm sure we got to mix this up, Steve. Yeah, maybe let's. Let's keep it fresh. Although it seemed like Terry said I'm done on his own.
Je Skeets
Yeah. Might be finding a better opportunity.
Tas Melas
Yeah. So maybe I'm wrong about Joe Lake of wanting to keep it fresh, but, yeah, good luck.
Je Skeets
Maybe it worked out for everybody, I think, is what we're saying here. Yeah. Again, highly recommend that. That great article on Steve Kerr from Ray Thompson on espn. Okay, before we go, this is the Drop podcast. It's Friday, so let's do some rapid fire fun. I got the questions. I'll answer along with TAS and JD first one, we had some fun this week thanks to Tony Brothers, because NBA referee Tony Brothers plans to run for mayor of his Virginia hometown after he retires from officiating. Very cool. So let's help him win. All right. What should be Tony Brothers campaign slogan?
Tas Melas
In our court, there are no objections, only rejections. I thought I had that memorized. I thought I had that memorized. But the objection, the objections and rejections, I didn't know. Give it to me.
Je Skeets
Give it to me again.
Tas Melas
One more time. It's not good. In our court, there are no objections, only rejections.
Je Skeets
Okay. Okay.
Tas Melas
You know, it's a referee thing. It's funny.
JD
I like it.
Je Skeets
Yeah. What do you got, J.D.
JD
tony brothers, two brows, one vision, zero challenges.
Je Skeets
Wow. Good.
Tas Melas
That's good, man.
Je Skeets
Strong. I had a couple others. I'll share a few. Yeah. I went Tony Brothers, your voice, my whistle. I went Tony Brothers is family. Little play on brothers there, Tony Brothers. The change we need, the eyebrows we deserve. And finally, vote Tony Brothers. Let's get this call right.
JD
Oh, that's great.
Je Skeets
I thought that one was actually. Sounds like it could run with that.
Tas Melas
Solid. That is solid.
JD
I had one more. Tony Brothers raising eyebrows, not taxes.
Je Skeets
Oh, wow. Yeah.
Tas Melas
Well done. Well done.
Je Skeets
Good stuff, guys. Let's hear your best Tony Brothers campaign slogan in the stream team right now.
Tas Melas
Well done. The new mayor of Norfolk, Norfolk, Virginia. I think. I think you have to tie in what you're writing to the town.
Je Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melas
Specifically, like, I think you guys. You guys played it well. The couple. You know, it's small town. Yeah, that's right. Yeah.
Je Skeets
All right, next one here. Mina Kimes advanced to the Celebrity Jeopardy. Finals this week after using a calculated wagering strategy despite having the wrong answer at Final Jeopardy. Yeah. Fantastic little bit of game theory here from. From Kimes. And she had a. I guess it was a TikTok or a social media media video explaining her reasoning. It was really interesting.
Tas Melas
Yeah. There's a tweet, I think.
Je Skeets
Yeah. But I wanna know who's an NBA personality that you would love to see on Celebrity Jeopardy. Pass.
Tas Melas
I was in the player world when I was thinking about my. I went with Garrett Temple. Deep cut. He's an old guy. You know, he's seen some things. He was also undrafted. He's had to work for everything. He's got nothing given to him. So I think he would be good in preparation for a celebrity Jeopardy. Week, whatever they're running here. He's been on 12 teams. I think he can talk his way into any circumstance. So I think he's done his work. I think. Give me a. Give me Garrett Temple.
Je Skeets
Who is Garrett temple? All right, J.D.
JD
i struggled with this one.
Je Skeets
Really?
JD
Well, I don't know. I mean, immediately I thought of my favorite NBA personality outside of this room, which is Rob Mahoney.
Je Skeets
Oh, I thought you were gonna say Matt Barnes.
JD
Matt. Well, Matt Barnes. Yeah, sure.
Je Skeets
But Mahoney's awesome.
JD
Mahoney's very smart guy, too.
Tas Melas
Yeah. That's the thing.
JD
And, you know, knows about pop culture stuff as well.
Tas Melas
That's the important part. Yeah.
JD
I did consider Mike Fratello just because he's pretty good with an electronic pen, you know, as telestrator. Right. He's bizarre.
Je Skeets
Oh, yeah. What would he cook up there?
JD
Right, right. But, you know, it's. It's only Final Jeopardy, really. And him writing his name.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Yeah. He's a great answer.
JD
You know, let's I'll just go with Mahoney.
Je Skeets
I feel like Rob Mahoney is one of the smarter guys in the NBA world.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
least in terms of knowledge. It just feels like that.
JD
Yeah, for sure.
Je Skeets
Honestly. Trey Kirby.
Tas Melas
Trey Kirby.
Je Skeets
Trey Kirby versus Rob Mahoney versus, like, Jason Concepcion.
JD
Yeah.
Je Skeets
That'd be a hell of a battle, I think.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
JD
No basketball questions?
Je Skeets
No, no. Just straight up knowledge about life. My answer for this is I'd like to see a game of celebrity Steve. Jeopardy. Steve Nash.
JD
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Steven Adams and Steve Ballmer. Imagine Steve Ballmer on Jeopardy. Every time you got a question right, You're crazy. But I think that Steven Adams would be fun as hell, too. So I want Steve's. Celebrity Steve.
JD
Are you Pro shenanigans on celebrity Jeopardy. Like, between questions and, you know, the.
Je Skeets
No, I guess not. No.
JD
I would be in this.
Je Skeets
That. In that. Yeah, yeah.
JD
It usually falls pretty flat.
Je Skeets
Yeah, exactly. It always.
Tas Melas
Yeah, it's like it always does. Yeah.
Je Skeets
Ken Jennings talking to Steve Ballmer would be fun, though. All right, final one here. And then we got a photo to go with this one. Miller Light is debuting a soccer ball beer holder that fits up to 12 beers. This is a real thing. This is not AI people. And we're showing it to you on YouTube. It's like a bigger soccer ball. That's how you can fit all these cans of beer in it. The Miller Time MVP match ball will go on sale before the World cup for $19.75. That's.
JD
What is it made of?
Je Skeets
I mean, because it's.
JD
That's cheap.
Je Skeets
Yeah, that is cheap. I thought. I thought it was made of whatever a soccer ball is made of. Is it not? Which is. Which is What?
JD
Not for 20 bucks.
Je Skeets
No. What's a soccer ball made out of?
Public Investing Advertiser
I don't know.
JD
Pleather?
Je Skeets
Yeah. Okay. Anyway, heck of a deal. I want to know, though, what's a first of its kind collectible you would like to see Miller Light make for basketball fans?
Tas Melas
Well, thunder sticks filled with beer. You're sold with beer. So you can drink it out of the standard strike straw. You drink it out of the standard straw that it comes with, if you've ever seen. You have to inflate it. So you drink out of those. And the more you drink, the louder the thunder sticks get.
JD
Interesting.
Tas Melas
Because.
Je Skeets
Because.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
That's dangerous, though.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
JD
Banging them together.
Je Skeets
Sticks together with beer all in them.
Tas Melas
Yeah. The innovation. The innovation can just, like, it's able to keep the air in when you blow it into it, inflate it, they can keep the beer inside.
Je Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melas
I'm pretty sure this, this ball looks, looks wild in that it's going to be a beer everywhere. Like these, these however many beers there are. 12 are built into the ball.
Je Skeets
Yeah, man. Again, you got to like, when I first saw this, I thought that was a normal sized soccer ball. And I'm like, how in hell are 12 beers fitting into a soccer ball? Like my brain was not computing. But it is much larger than a soccer ball. And I think you can tell from the photo it's much, much bigger.
Tas Melas
But anyways, the, like the, the top of each cup is already getting dirty, but in a guy's lap. Like, you know, cuz they're on different parts of the ball.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
Somebody's going to be like bouncing it as they get it from the concession,
Je Skeets
I was going to say. So like, like frat houses are going to have this and it's like you got to like, isn't the game going to be like you basically got to chug a beer and then kick the ball over to you and now you got to take one out and it's going to go everywhere, but you got to chug it? Like that's. Yeah, you're going to be wasting a lot of Miller Light. That's okay. It's Miller Light. Miller Light was not named in the Steve Kerr piece, by the way. I noticed. All right, so I like that, I like the Thunder sticks idea. It's pretty good. What do you got, J.D.
JD
well, I don't know if it's unique. I actually did a quick Google during the show because I realized this probably exists. But I was inspired by the Jackal. The San Antonio Spurs.
Tas Melas
Jackals.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
JD
And, and the Trey mentioned that you always see a cowboy hat in the, in the crowd. Was he talking about San Antonio? Yeah, that's right.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Yeah.
JD
So I was thinking like, like a double holster, you know, like gunsling and sort of. That's tall.
Je Skeets
Boy.
JD
It does exist. There's like Etsy shops that have custom made holsters for beer. But I don't know, I thought that would be kind of cool.
Je Skeets
Have you seen the giant belt buckle one? So it's a belt with a giant belt buckle and then the belt buckle flips down and then you can place your beer sort of like in a holder.
Tas Melas
Yeah, I think I've seen this.
JD
That's next level. I love it.
Je Skeets
I didn't mind that. Like, that's pretty convenient. You're at a backyard barbecue or something. You want.
Tas Melas
Absolutely.
Je Skeets
Set it right there. I Like that. Okay, these are great ideas. I kept it simple. I'm gonna just go with like a little mini hoop net, you know, sponsored by Miller Light, of course. But instead of it making a sound or applause or whatever, when you score, you actually want to get a wedgie and then it says wedgie or something like that. So the whole purpose of the little, little hoop is to try and stick wedgies that triggers Miller Light wedgie or whatever. Something like that.
Tas Melas
Love it.
Je Skeets
Get at us. Miller Light.
Tas Melas
Sounds like Kevin Harlan.
Je Skeets
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
JD
Or clone the guy that never says wedgie.
Je Skeets
Oh, Eric Reed.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah.
Je Skeets
Why won't you say wedgie? Eric Reed.
Tas Melas
Come on, Eric.
Je Skeets
I think you don't deserve Giannis if you're not going to say wedgie.
Tas Melas
I think Eric Reed just retired. I think.
Je Skeets
Did he?
Tas Melas
I think.
Je Skeets
I didn't see that.
Tas Melas
Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I'm wrong.
Je Skeets
That news. You could be right.
Tas Melas
I don't know.
Je Skeets
All right, that's rapid fire. That's the drop. Little giannis talk, little LeBron talk. Steve Kerr hitting all the classics here. Appreciate you joining us here on a Friday morning. Hit the like button. Subscribe podcast listeners. Five star ratings and reviews. Love the Spotify comments. Keep them coming. No doubt. As I said earlier, we are back tomorrow on a Saturday here in the classic factory. Breaking down game sixes tonight in Cleveland and in Minnesota. How many game seven babies are we getting? How many Zaza clips do we play tomorrow? Should get the poll up? 0, 1 or 2. Let's hope for 2. Let's hope for 2. We want game sevens on the weekend. I also saw, I think I have this right. If Cleveland wins tonight, the conference finals between the Cavs and the Knicks start Sunday.
Tas Melas
That's a quick ass turnaround round. Yeah.
Je Skeets
Cleveland in that scenario. I don't like that. I mean I hate it for our show because it's like I would like to be able to hype up the series, make our predictions and all that. Yeah.
Tas Melas
But I do like it for NBA fans.
Je Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melas
The next. They've been waiting. Yeah. Just keep going. Let's go next. Fans are just chilling. I don't want this to be the Super Bowl. You got a week off, you know.
Je Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melas
In general.
Je Skeets
Do you know, do you know when the conference finals the west would start? Is that a Monday? Like let's say the spurs win tonight?
Tas Melas
Probably.
Je Skeets
I think so. I would think so because then it would be. Yeah. So it's the potential is the. We get going the conference final Sunday, Monday and then we're Basically every other night. Yeah.
Tas Melas
Yeah.
Je Skeets
Okay, look, I'm cheering for the Pistons tonight, man. I want next week. Well, I want game Sevens first off, but then I want to be able to get very excited about the conference finals, you know what I mean? That's just me being selfish. I'm sorry, Cavs fans. I want the Pistons to win tonight. So go Detroit. But we're here. No matter what happens again tomorrow. I think we're going to try and start a little earlier. 9:30am Eastern is the plan. Just subscribe to no dunks on YouTube and you'll know when we're going live. So, yeah, that's something to look forward to on the weekend. Till then, Clipper Bros. You heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
JD
Awesome.
Tas Melas
Thanks for joining us. And remember, to everyone in Canada, happy long weekend. It's made 2, 4 a weekend.
Je Skeets
Is it really?
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Je Skeets
Oh, the iceman Cometh on May 22nd.
Tas Melas
Yeah, they're smart.
Je Skeets
Have you listened to any of it yet?
Tas Melas
I have not got a lot of
Je Skeets
albums to listen to.
Tas Melas
Yeah, I thought about it. The three albums I heard.
Je Skeets
Yeah. You see what they. He, Drake, like, had the CN Tower all lit up like it was ice and he had a fireworks show at 11 o'. Clock.
Tas Melas
What's happened to the big ice in the parking lot?
Je Skeets
That's long gone.
JD
They took it down.
Tas Melas
Yeah. Safety reasons. Let it still be cold enough. Just leave it there.
Je Skeets
Apparently it's not super warm in Toronto yet, but it's getting nice. So you're gonna listen to Drake this all weekend?
Tas Melas
Oh, yeah. Yeah. And I'm gonna be worried about germs. That is just a segue for the Miller Light soccer ball. Oh, somebody commenting here, rj, that I'm a germaphobe. Because I said. But, you know, you. It's just. It's just strange to be shaking a ball. Carbonation all through the cans. You've got.
Je Skeets
What's that got to do with Germany?
Tas Melas
Nothing. I'm just saying into like, you're touching the ball. You're touching the ball, the whole thing. There's. There's can lids everywhere. Pass it to me here, I'll touch this can. Anyways, I'm not really a German.
Je Skeets
I think we're supposed to be kicking around this match ball is what we're saying.
Tas Melas
But it's a soccer ball, so, you
Je Skeets
know, people are going to.
Tas Melas
Yeah, yeah, but I. I don't like the carbonation.
Je Skeets
No, it's gonna be. But you don't like Miller, do You?
Tas Melas
No, not really.
Je Skeets
No. Just piss. Hey, pass over the piss ball. I'm thirsty. That's what they'll be saying.
JD
You don't have to put Miller Light in there. No, you don't replace the cans.
Je Skeets
You can't. Yeah, you can.
Tas Melas
So. So you buy it and then take out the Miller Light cans. Yeah. Oh, okay. Buy some Wheeler.
Je Skeets
Like with Steve Kerr. Some Kona longboards, Modelo. Oh, Modelo is a great beer. Yeah. Nothing wrong with that. All right, we're back tomorrow morning. Maybe we'll maybe crack a Modelo tonight while we watch this.
Tas Melas
Maybe just have a sleepover.
Je Skeets
Might have one here in the morning for all we know. You don't know what happens on the weekend here.
JD
Oh, there's a bunch of frat house beer in there.
Tas Melas
What?
Je Skeets
Really?
Tas Melas
Yeah.
JD
Lincoln brought it home.
Je Skeets
What do we. What are the frat houses drinking?
JD
Drinking Bush something Bush.
Je Skeets
Wow.
JD
There's a.
Je Skeets
Any PBRs?
JD
No PBRs.
Tas Melas
There's a.
JD
There's an apple flavored bush light or something.
Je Skeets
I don't know.
JD
It's. It's basically apple juice.
Tas Melas
But beer.
JD
It's so gross.
Je Skeets
I'm from the frat house.
JD
Frat house beer. Help yourselves.
Je Skeets
All right, we will.
Tas Melas
I wouldn't be helping myself. I'm drinking one of those bushes.
Je Skeets
I'm super thirsty right now. I actually might crack one.
Tas Melas
Right.
Je Skeets
Thanks for joining us, guys. We'll see you tomorrow. Brace the day, people.

I'm U.S. transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. The sound of a seatbelt. It's one of the most important sounds in our car. It means everyone is ready and everyone is safe. The more our kids see us put on our seatbelts, the more natural it is for them to put theirs on too. Make it priority. Buckle up every time. Hear the sound. Make it a habit. Paid for by nhtsa.

M M's popped caramel do sound different. Oh, no. People are gonna be obsessed. What do you mean? People hate the sound of chewing.
Vuori Advertiser
Maybe they won't like the crunch.
Tas Melas
Maybe we're saved. Wait a minute. Yellow. Have you been eating them this whole time?
Je Skeets
Mmm.
Tas Melas
So tasty. Hands off us. M&M's popped caramel.

It's more fun together. Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host. That is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me. So I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quint has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items, and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts. One striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable, but still look put together. And the best part is, I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quince works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Head to Quince.com nodunks for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Quince.com nodunks for Free Shipping and 365 day returns. Quints.com nodunks this is an iHeart podcast.

This episode of No Dunks is packed with lively NBA debate and trademark wit as Skeets, Tas, and JD dig into three hypothetical Giannis Antetokounmpo trades, discuss the latest LeBron James drama with the Lakers, and unpack revelations from a deeply reported ESPN article on Steve Kerr’s near-retirement. The show also features rapid-fire questions, inventive Miller Lite merch ideas, and classic NBA talk with a playful tone.
The Milwaukee Bucks have reportedly issued an ultimatum: sign a contract extension or get traded. With Giannis likely on the block and the NBA draft approaching, the guys break down three potential trade packages, focusing on what the Bucks could get in return, Giannis's preferences, and the impact of his injury history.
Rumors swirl that LeBron felt slighted when Rob Pelinka gave the game ball to JJ Redick for his 100th coaching win, not to LeBron for breaking the all-time win record. Dave McMenamin reported this as part of LeBron’s growing dissatisfaction.
ESPN’s Wright Thompson reveals that Steve Kerr was “95% certain” he’d retire before the Warriors’ play-in game, only to change his mind after a win. The segment also spotlights Kerr’s personality quirks—including his love of beer and Taylor Swift Easter eggs.
| Segment | Topic | Timestamp | |--------------------------------|----------------------------------------------------------------------|-------------------| | Intro | Show open, rundown, absent Trey | 02:46–03:32 | | Giannis trade rumors | 3 packages: Miami, Boston, New York (+ wildcards) | 03:33–41:24 | | Ref/Tony Brothers segment | Rapid fire, campaign slogans | 69:20–70:34 | | LeBron-Lakers spat | “Taken for granted,” legacy talk | 49:57–57:51 | | Steve Kerr feature | Near retirement, beer, Taylor Swift lyric prank | 62:01–68:43 | | NBA quick hits & playoff chat | Refs, Cavs/Pistons, spurs/Wolves preview | 43:33–48:35 | | Rapid fire | Celebrity Jeopardy, Miller Lite inventions, Steve Kerr, etc. | 70:34–77:50 |
If you missed the episode, you caught all the major news, plenty of laughs, and more than enough hypothetical Giannis trades to keep you debating till draft night.
Memorable quote (Skeets, 08:45):
“If there’s assurances, which I think there will be, that he’ll sign a contract extension, it’s going to be so much more draft capital. It has to be.”
