How about that weird, like, cardboard thing that goes around the vase?
J. Skeets
Yeah, he loves cardboard.
Trey Kirby
You can't recycle this. It's too cool. It's like a honeycomb protective device. Tell your kids. Put it on their arms. They'll look like they have huge muscles.

On today's podcast, we got a lot to break down here. We're going to discuss Wemby's ejection throwing the elbow on Nas Reed. And the Wolves come back to tie up that series. Two, two. Uh, we're going to highlight the Knicks sweeping the Sixers out of the playoffs. And we'll look ahead to tonight's two game fours in Cleveland and in la. But first, we start this Monday morning with the Washington Wizards winning the draft lottery on Sunday. Happy Mother's Day to the Wizards. Uh, they will pick first overall for the first time since choosing John Wall in that spot in 2010. Wall was the Wizards on stage representative for yesterday's lottery, so good job, NBA scriptwriters. The Utah Jazz moved up on lottery day for the first time in the organization's history to number two. The Memphis Grizzlies moved up three spots to number three. And the Chicago Bulls, yes, under a new front office, jumped all the way from number nine to number four. The big takeaway in terms of the losers of it all, the Pacers lost their protected top four pick to the Clippers, who got the number five pick. But we'll get into other winners and losers here in a second. Let's just talk about the Wizards, though. Getting this done and getting the number one pick in a in a loaded draft. So finally the worst team in the league gets the number one pick. How fitting is this now that we get rid of this actual strategy or style of lottery?
Trey Kirby
Yeah, Adam Silver said. See, tanking works. That's why we got to change some things up a little bit here. But this is just amazing for the Wizards. It's going to be weird next year. They're getting Trey Young and Anthony Davis back. So this is not a team that is going to be bottom of the barrel going into next season regardless. But they have been for the past three seasons and we've talked a lot of times like their rebuild really Needed a star. So even if they hadn't done the Trey Young Anthony Davis trades, this would be pretty sweet for Washington to get a guy. And I'm guessing AJ Debanza seems to be the number one pick though according to Jake Fisher there is some trade down potential from the Wizards. We'll see if it actually happens. It worked out pretty well for the Celtics once upon a time. True to trade down from the number one and get some stuff in the future as well. We'll see what ends up happening there. But you like to see them hang on to the number one pick after three years of just being completely trash and next year they're an interesting team. You know, they have some interesting young players. They're getting back to all stars in Trey and Anthony Davis. I assume Anthony Davis will be on the team, so it doesn't totally feel like a guarantee at this point, but I think he'll be there. And then if it's Debance or whoever, they end up taking it. I don't know if they trade down it'll be like to two or three. It won't be very far but they're going to be getting a big time prospect along with a couple of guys. They'll probably be back in the play in mix, I would have to imagine. So awesome for the Wizards. Pretty cool that John Wall was like, yeah, you bring a number one pick to get a number one pick. Okay, yeah, it worked out that way for sure.
Tas Melis
John Wall's done this before. I assume he has sat there for the Washington Wizards before. I feel like he has.
J. Skeets
It does feel like it, but I'm not 100% convinced.
Tas Melis
I didn't go back into the history of draft lotteries and see if he sat there before. It feels like he has been there. Either way, they've got the number one pick. They have been bad for several years. They have been planting this as their front office has a bunch of OKC former employees. They're trying to do the same thing. It sure feels like let's be bad for a long time. It seems like the Washington Wizards have disappeared off the NBA fans radar for a while. They've just been a really bad team.
Trey Kirby
Just like OKC.
J. Skeets
Unless Bam Adebaya was scoring 83 points on them. Yes.
Tas Melis
For that reason, yes. But they have been right. They lost 64 games the last three seasons. The first team in NBA history to do that. Which is weird to say that, but yeah. So they have been bad for a long time getting a number one pick. It is interesting to Think about if Anthony Davis is going to want to play with the number one pick. I know Trey. You always wondered if he liked playing with Cooper Flag in the Dallas Mavericks. I wanted to say that Cooper Flag appeared on Anthony Davis's prank show. So I do think they liked each other because I don't think he'd ask him if he didn't like him. Right. So I think they're buds now.
J. Skeets
Anthony Davis is the real NBA draft lottery lottery charm, luck charm, whatever you want to call it. Isn't this the third time?
Tas Melis
Right, right.
J. Skeets
This guy's been on a team and they've won the on the draft lottery. And back to back here with Dallas and Washington. Was he still on the Pelicans when they got at the one tier?
Trey Kirby
No, they traded him to the Lakers and then the NBA gifted them the number one.
J. Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
So of course, was the number one pick.
J. Skeets
Yeah, that too. Yeah. Yeah. Anyway, he's the real lucky tr.
Tas Melis
The Wizards have to take Dan. Right. That's what all the rumors say. It's a fun name to say. Also, he's 69. He's just feels like a perfect modern NBA player. Can do everything from what I read, anyway, I read David Aldridge, who's been part of the Wizards ecosystem for a long time. He wrote, if they don't take BYU's AJ Deban first, I'll eat my hat. Wait, I don't own a hat. I do, though. I own a lot of baseball caps, so I'll eat my cap. It's gonna happen.
J. Skeets
I've seen David Aldridge in a baseball cap for sure. So he's got to eat it.
Tas Melis
Can't remember.
Trey Kirby
He's got to eat it.
J. Skeets
There are people wondering, could the Jazz, like, get very, very aggressive in trying to swap, like you were saying, one and two there. Utah trying to get that number one pick from Washington. Give them stuff in the player future picks just so they could get there, you know, Utah guy there, they're BYU guy and Adrian. But I. I don't think that's going to happen. I think it's going to go Debanta one, Peterson two. And then it gets really fun with the Grizzlies selection between either a Boozer or a Wilson. And then Trey gets sort of the leftovers, but with the Bulls. But yeah. What's your read on. On what the Wizards will do here with the number one pick?
Trey Kirby
I mean, most likely they'll keep it. Number one picks don't get traded all that often. But it is pretty interesting that the Jazz actually moved Up. They do have the history with the Bansa, like basically moving them out to Utah in for prep school and then for byu, funded by literally the Jazz owner and their gm. Pretty crazy. They have the means to be able to chase a number one pick. Like they could give up their number two. You're not moving that far down if you're the Wizards. Like, if they like PETERSON Better than DeBance. So why wouldn't you take a second first round pick or something like that? Or Ace Bailey.
J. Skeets
Right.
Trey Kirby
Like there are things that the Jazz could do if they really, really want to get up to number one. But stasis is kind of the most likely outcome. And either way, it's working out nice for the Wizards. Either they, I mean, they're getting the guy they want regardless. Getting the number one pick means you get to choose the first guy or any other trade option you want out there. So perfect for them.
Tas Melis
And it's worked out well for the Jazz here for the first time in a while where they tend to drop a few spots here even after being extremely bad. But they had the perfect tank mode this past season. We go get Jaren Jackson Jr. We continue to play our guys for three quarters. We sit them for the fourth quarter. Our fans are still filling out the stadium and we have a bunch of great guys going forward with Keante George and Triple J, as I mentioned, Larry Markin and Ace Bailey. Now you got the number two pick. So it's worked out pretty damn well.
J. Skeets
Final thought on the Wizards here. The winning combo. 4, 2, 1, 13. And I wanted to ask you, task, did you watch what the NBA released soon after the actual broadcast? You know, where we do the envelopes and Tatum shows them, but then they give you the footage of that back room where the media's in there and all the reps for the teams. Did you watch it? You keep saying it should be televised.
Tas Melis
Yeah, well, I read.
Trey Kirby
So it's gotta be.
Tas Melis
It's gotta be. It's gotta be televised. Way better than what they do. Yeah, that's why, like an actual show. That's not a show.
J. Skeets
I watched it. It's the most boring thing of all time, right? Well, because it has to be. Because it's actually quite serious that all the rules and regulations and you need to explain all that.
Trey Kirby
I thought you were going to say because it's cover. They make it so boring that nobody would want to watch it. They can do anything they want in there with their deep fake technology.
J. Skeets
I watched it.
Trey Kirby
Brutal but brilliant stuff by Adam Silver to throw Everybody off the scent. You wouldn't rig it for the Wizards and the Jazz, two teams that had embarrassing tank moments this season. So if you don't do it this year, you can do it every other year.
J. Skeets
Yeah, right, right, right.
Tas Melis
I read Brian Windhurst recap of the entire thing, and he basically said it was the opposite of boring. Being in there, it was exciting. Well, yes. I mean, watching again, televised, it's different. I mean, he knew. He knew every single detail. You said 421 3. As he was doing it, as he was reporting on it, he knew absolutely every outcome that was possible with every lottery ball.
J. Skeets
So, yeah, I don't even think the 13 matter. That last ping pong ball didn't even matter. It was the Wizards at that point. After the 4:2:1 came up, they were
Tas Melis
the only ones that had 4:2:1 in their options anyways. Yes, I wanted to be televised, but I want it to be a production, you know, not a nothing. When you watched it, it was literally nothing. Right.
J. Skeets
It was like, hilariously boring.
Tas Melis
A still cam.
J. Skeets
Well, no. There's one guy explaining the rules. There's one guy doing the whole ping pong balls into the machine. There's another representative there sort of saying what the team is. But a funny part was the Jazz actually won the third pick as well.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
J. Skeets
So they're like, okay, just reset it and they got to do it over because obviously they could get that combo again. But they won the two picks. Yeah. Yeah.
Super Producer JD
Cool.
J. Skeets
It was cool. It is somewhat fitting with the lottery reform coming, that this is the result we get here, though, because since the odds changed in 2019, the worst team had never won the number one overall pick. So now, in the final year of this format, it hits for the wizards, who lost 26 or their final 27 games and had the bam debacle and. And have been garbage for three years. And it's like, well, they're the worst team. And here they go. They get the number one pick, and then we will completely get rid of this, and it's going to be even more random, really, in theory, if we go the way we think we're going with it in terms of the results. But congrats to the Wizards fans.
Trey Kirby
They need good year to win.
J. Skeets
Very good year to win. Any other thoughts on them or let's get to some other winners and losers. Where do you want to start? Open floor here.
Trey Kirby
Tanking is a winner.
J. Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
Absolutely tanking as a winner. The Wizards and the Jazz both traded for stars at the deadline, getting Trae Young and Anthony Davis in the Wizards case, getting Jaren Jackson Jr. In the jazz case, and then they shut both of them down. They both had very embarrassing moments regarding tanking. Bam's 83 hung on the Wizards, kind of a black eye on their season. And the Jazz literally got fined for the shenanigans that they were pulling and they got the top two picks. That's crazy. The Jazz are in the same boat as the Wizards where they needed the. The star of their rebuild. They've got everything else, but they needed that number one guy. Now they get one. They're going to be adding veterans with Kessler coming back from injury, Jaren Jackson Jr. Coming back from fake injury, Lowry Markkin coming back from the world's longest sickness. Like they've got guys coming back to play with Keante George who had an awesome season and whoever they end up picking. Maybe Darren Peterson feels like he fits nice there. You could even say Memphis tanked. John Morant was out for months with an elbow injury. They traded away Jaren Jackson Jr. They traded away Devin or Devin Desmond Bain prior to the season. So I think this shows. Yeah, there were incentives to be bad because you could get a top three pick in the draft and those three teams did.
Tas Melis
And this was the year to do it. Considering how good these draftees should be, there's a bunch of them, as you said. Like you could go down to the Grizzlies, who as an organization are just doing a 180 degree turn. See you later. Jaren Jackson Jr. Desmond Bain before that. And it sure feels like John Morant has played his last game. Wow. They've been filling the cupboards slowly like these other teams have. Cedric Coward should be a good young player for a very long time. We'll see how Zach Edie's body holds up. So they're doing the. The slow play here as the. Yeah, the Wizards played it perfectly, being bad for a long time, while the Jazz also had been bad for a long time. But finally a higher pick, not the number one pick, but you know, a pretty high pick here. That will very likely be Darren Peterson, although he was ranked, as I read, number one for a long time. But then the body issues, the cramps. I read that apparently doctors have said that creatine was part of the body cramps and tra.
J. Skeets
I immediately thought of tr.
Trey Kirby
I was like, there's no way that's true.
Tas Melis
That's got to be true.
Trey Kirby
Only guy that cramps up on podcasts. Literally nobody else. Yeah, for sure. I'm taking 100 milligrams of creatine a day.
Tas Melis
Yeah, exactly. It's got to be true.
Trey Kirby
Just five grams?
Tas Melis
Yeah, just five. Just five. But apparently he's to get off the crate or. I don't know. I don't know what the report is, but either way. Yeah. Then the Bulls obviously have to be labeled a winner. And of course, the Clippers.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Well, okay, let's talk about the Bulls here quickly. Cause I do want to know, who do you. Who do you hope falls to you at number four as a Bulls fan? Or are you in the boat of, like, honestly, who cares? This is incredible. You know, they're saying it's a top four loaded draft and we're one of those selections.
Trey Kirby
I'm happy. Yeah, exactly. Whoever's dropping to four, I'm happy. Like, I'm a Cam Boozer fan. Not everybody is. He seems most likely of the top three to drop out just because of concerns with. Regarding his athleticism. Caleb Wilson is the guy who's mocked there for every single mock draft. Right now he's at 4. New Bulls GM Bryson Graham said, I'm into slap size, length, athleticism, physicality.
Super Producer JD
Wow.
Trey Kirby
Sounds like Caleb Wilson to me. Oh, man, I got acronyms now.
Tas Melis
Slap.
Trey Kirby
It's all about the slap. No Will Smith. But yeah, I was mixing up a beautiful lime crema yesterday as the draft lottery was going. Bulls moved up. I'm not stopping. I'm not stopping. Stirring.
J. Skeets
Getting too much stir.
Trey Kirby
I'm gonna stir until they get the number one pick. They came to four. Crema was good to go.
J. Skeets
Okay, good, good, good.
Tas Melis
Yeah. A lot of air in that crema. I'm sure. I'm sure it was great.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, we got some leftovers. They'll go nice on the chickpea stew tonight.
J. Skeets
Excellent, excellent. So, yeah, huge for those top four teams, obviously, in Washington, Utah, Memphis and Chicago. I a little interested to see where, if it goes AJ and Darren 1, 2. You know, I'm intrigued at least which direction the Grizzlies would go. Do you take, like, maybe the more upside player in Caleb Wilson or the more sure thing, sort of almost, dare I say almost. Pau Gasol. Like, in a weird way, just like going to be a 2010 guy. I'm talking boozer here, of course. And you sort of like, pick, build your franchise around him. I'm not sure you can go wrong, but I'm fascinated to say who they pick. And then that leaves the leftover for TK There. And the Bulls fans.
Tas Melis
Does it start at number three? Does the draft start at number Three, sort of. Kind of. Well, we shall see.
Trey Kirby
Either way, though, you look at the top four, and you're like, okay, this kind of makes sense for where the prospects are slotted to go. Like, I don't think that the Wizards would be as interested in Darren Peterson as they are in AJ debance because they just traded for Trey Young and gave him an extension. The Jazz have a bunch of big guys and could use a guard, so maybe they get Darren Peters. Grizzlies, I think, are kind of more unformed right now, but it definitely feels like John Morant could be on his way out. The biggest thing is they got probably their next star or at least their next marketable guy that they're going to be pitching things around. And then, yeah, the Bulls, they got the fourth pick, and it's never gone poorly for the Bulls. Oh, boy, I did hate remembering my brain.
J. Skeets
What do we got, Eddie? We got Patrick Williams, of course.
Trey Kirby
Oh, yeah, yeah, we still got him.
J. Skeets
Yeah, still got him. Eddie Curry.
Trey Kirby
Eddie Curry.
J. Skeets
Marcus Fiser.
Trey Kirby
That's right.
J. Skeets
And then a bunch of older guys that I do think, yeah, Tom Boerwinkle
Trey Kirby
was the biggest thing.
J. Skeets
Tom Boerwinkle was a problem.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, Tom Forewinkle, they were calling him back when he 89 billion years ago. But, you know, it's a new era, and this is the first step to the Bulls being back. We'll take it.
J. Skeets

Okay, well, let's talk about the other big takeaway from the draft lottery results. It was, you know, the loser winner combo of the Pacers and Clippers tasks with that pick going to LAC at the number five spot. Pacers traded their fairly rare lottery pick with protections from number one through number four and then number 10 through number 30 as part of that package for Evita Zubots. And it was like, it was basically a 50, 50 coin flip. And it was a little bit, you know, like 48, 52. And it did not come up Pacers. It came up clips as they get this to the point where I think Kevin Pritchard's like apologizing on Twitter. Hey, you know, we took a risk here.
Trey Kirby
I'm really sorry to all our fans. I own taking this risk. Surprised it came up fifth after this year. I thought we were due some luck. I mean, do you want your GM to believe in the basketball gods? Yeah, you do?
J. Skeets
Yeah, I guess so.
Trey Kirby
But also you also want them to know the probability.
J. Skeets
Yeah, it's still basically 50, 50, but yeah, like, yeah, unpack this here, Tess. This, this Pacers, Clippers going to lac.
Tas Melis
Yeah, trading the number five pick for Avita Zubots essentially. You know, you throw in Benedict Matheran and Isaiah Jackson also going to Los Angeles. It's a very different trade here. Well, the Clippers overall, they gave up on this season and then they decided to trade James Harden away for Darius Garland. So short term here this next year in Kawhi Leonard's eyes has got to be a huge win. We shall see what they are next year. But obviously, yeah, the Clippers, they won the coin flip. Lawrence Frank did it again. I guess that's why he got the extension. I guess this is huge for the Clippers.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I mean they get, not only did they get Zubots, they also got the 20, 29 first. That's pretty incredible for Zubots. A zero time all star, a zero time all NBA player. He was okay last year. He wasn't great. I think he's going to fit nice for the Pacers for sure. But the Clippers went from having a 0% chance of having a pick period.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
To getting the highest pick they could possibly get. And they got Darius Garland. Who knows what they'll end up doing with Matheran. But at the very least you got Garland as a young guy. You got whoever they drafted. Number five as a young guy.
J. Skeets
Probably.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. It's a pathway to at least a new team.
Tas Melis
Oh yeah, absolutely.
Trey Kirby
And it felt like they were stuck with the Kawhi, Paul George, James Harden.
J. Skeets
Unless of course, the NBA finally wraps up their investigation into the aspiration scandal and take away this pick from the Clippers and nobody gets the pick with this one. Probably not happening. But we are still waiting to hear if there's any repercussions.
Tas Melis
Yeah. And Kawhi, the, the very few words he said was and always aimed at next season. Even when they were getting better. He was always talking about Darius Garland getting right and practicing and playing with this team and getting used to them for next season. So their team, you know, it's them with hopefully a number five pick. As long as it's not taken away, it should be pretty solid going forward. So we'll see how long. You know, I, I outlined Kawhi because obviously one of the better players in the NBA could be a very good team if they all form together. But at some point Kawhi is going to want out as well. I mean he doesn't have many years left. So I think this year is extremely important. And who they get at number five will be important.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
They could trade him and I think they could trade quiet. He's got one year left on his deal. 50 million. Had a good season last year.
J. Skeets
There's some talk of they could be a team that even trades down in this draft. Like there's. Because there's this glut of guards here. It's like who do you want to pick from like the four or five guards when you get into that second tier and maybe they like somebody near the back, back end so you get something back. Because the Kings probably one of the losers here from draft lottery results. I mean falling all the way to seventh. The Nets also one of these team. The Nets are a big loser here. When you zoom out over the last couple of years, The Nets traded three first round picks and one first round swap to regain control over their 25 and 26 first round picks. So they could tank. So they could have control of those picks, be bad, and maybe hit in these lotteries instead. What did they do? They move down a combined five slots in these two lotteries and just like, they're. They're the Nets. Like, lottery luck is bad. I mean, if you look back since, like, you go Back to like 2010, when they've held their own pick, it like always drops. And when that pick that they had got to another team, it almost always at least stays the same, if not improves. So it's like when they hold it, it just always goes down. So I think. I don't think I'm, you know, breaking news here. The net sort of a loser here of this loaded top of this draft lottery slipping out.
Tas Melis
Totally. Yeah.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Them. Them and the Kings for being honest.
Tas Melis
Yeah. The Kings drop in two spots. Do you want Brandon Ingram? The Toronto Raptors gotta be calling and saying, hey, you're not getting a great draft pick. You always just add players to this roster and make it a hodgepodge of players that aren't gonna be all that great. You don't want to keep Demonta Sabonis. What about that trade? Straight up. It's very straight up. Straight up. Essentially, you know, the money is pretty similar. Yeah. Just.
J. Skeets
Okay, so just to clarify. Nope. They're not giving up the number 7 pick is what you said.
Tas Melis
No, no, no, no, no, no, no. But because you don't get a draft pick.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
You have to basically do the same thing you just did, which is, you know, a Zach Levine, DeMar DeRozan type of team. So come on, bring on in. Brandon Ingram. That's what the Raptors, I'm sure I'm are calling about. Who owned the Pacers number five pick once upon a time, because the Pacers number five pick was traded to them for Pascal Siakam. I mean, it wasn't number five at the time, but it was one of those three trades that they ended up turning into Brandon Ingram. And then New Orleans traded it back to the Indiana Pacers and, you know, that whole thing of a jig. That is crazy. It is crazy.
Trey Kirby
The fifth pick.
Tas Melis
They could have had the fifth pick. Yeah. The three picks that they got for Pascal Siakam ended up being Jacoby Walter, this one for Ingram, and then one that they traded to the Jazz, that whole Ochay Abaji trade.
J. Skeets
Right.
Tas Melis
But interesting stuff. Yeah. Kings easily a loser. It feels like they're just going to keep on doing the same thing. And the Raps would be extremely happy to go get a DeMartis opponent. I think over Brandon Ingram. I know it's a reach. I know it's a reach, but it's a better.
Trey Kirby
Kings should not do that.
Tas Melis
No, no, no. The King should not do that.
J. Skeets
I don't think the Raptors should do it either. So this is a classic, like, lose, lose. I don't want to have Sabonas on our team.
Tas Melis
You don't think it's a better playoff player than what Brandon Ingram was?
Trey Kirby
No, they're both bad playoffs.
J. Skeets
I gotta be honest.
Tas Melis
Well, he could be the new Carl Anthony Towns. I mean, the Raptors need passers. They need guys to set up the rest of their players. They don't have them, and that would be ideal for them. Either way, big loser for the Kings.
J. Skeets
Any other winners or losers? TK From Sunday's results.
Trey Kirby
The Pelicans are losers for sure. They could have had the fifth and eighth pick in this year's draft, and instead they traded away both of them last year.
J. Skeets
Yeah, I guess it could have been worse.
Trey Kirby
It could have been worse.
J. Skeets
You know, the pick, the pick did go into the eighth spot there. So, yeah, that's why I have the
Trey Kirby
Hawks as, like, a minor loser as well. It was looking like they were going to get the number one pick early in the season, but then New Orleans tried really hard down the stretch and made their odds less favorable. And down like an eighth. Still good for the Hawks. They had no pick coming into last summer, and instead they're getting a top 10. But still, you would have liked to see one through three for sure.
J. Skeets
Oh, absolutely.
Tas Melis
And then, yeah, that Hawks pick, essentially, it's Asa Newell and this eight pick for Derek Queen. Are they going to get a better player at 8 than Derek Queen?
Trey Kirby
I don't know.
Tas Melis
We'll see what Derek Queen becomes because it's still young. He's still super, super young, but looks like a very talented player. It's an interesting. We'll look back on this a few years from now and see if the Hawks made a good pick because it ended up at number eight. It looked awesome for a long time.
J. Skeets
The Bucks at 10th and the warriors there in the 11th slot. You know, I guess losers in terms of their fan bases and franchises. Like, they could have used a real big hit here, jumping way up into the top four with, you know, the whole Giannis and Milwaukee situation, and then obviously the older team in Golden State. So they don't really move much at all. They're just there. Everybody was convinced one of them was going to basically win. This thing especially. There was a lot of Talk about the warriors all watch. You just watch Steve Kerr just re signed. What does he know? And instead they just stay here at the back end of the lottery.
Trey Kirby
Yep. And I mean, the Thunder just. You got to feel terrible for not moving up, having to stay 12th. That sucks. If you're a Thunder fan, you must be just completely devastated today.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Especially because they're going to draft, like, Yaxel Lindenborg and he's going to be amazing right away. Slot right in.
Trey Kirby
Did they draft a guy? They drafted a guy 14th last year. He didn't even play Thomas Sorber.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
He was a lottery pick.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
They have lottery picks that never play. Nikola Topic was a top 10 pick as well. He played like 4 seconds this season.
J. Skeets
Yeah, they'll be okay. They'll be okay. Any other draft thoughts here before we take a break and get into some basketball talk?
Tas Melis
Not me.
J. Skeets
No, no, no. Anything else?
Trey Kirby
No. Did you think AJ Debancer looked sad that he was going to be going to Washington? I just thought he looked serious.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Serious is probably a better way to put it. I always do, like when they make them take the photo holding all the hats.
Super Producer JD
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Check the hats.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Look at how many hats I can hold. How many hats do you think you can hold?
Trey Kirby
Over 50.
Tas Melis
Easily. Easily. They're stacked.
J. Skeets
No, no, I was talking about the stack. You can't stack them. No, because they.
Trey Kirby
They, like straight across.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Like, you know, they take them. No, they're not stacked, like, top. You know, they're like. So it's a good photo. Right. So you can see all the details.
Trey Kirby
He's got six hats.
J. Skeets
Yeah. How many could you do? Could you do all 30 teams? Should we buy 30 hats? I think I could. I think we could. Yeah. You need help? You need help? Somebody putting them on.
Trey Kirby
Somebody's gotta stack them for you.
J. Skeets
Of course you're not gonna be able to do it yourself.
Tas Melis
Well, 30. That's a lot.
J. Skeets
It's a lot of hats. All right, let's hear your thoughts on the draft results there. Were you a big winner? Was your fan base or your team a big winner yesterday? Or did you fall? All right, time for hoops talk and we'll start with Anthony Edwards delivering 16 of his 36 points in the fourth quarter to help the Wolves even their second round series against the spurs on Sunday night with the 114, 109 victory following the stunning ejection there of Victor Wembanyama early in the second quarter of game four. Let's start there with the Wemby ejection. Nas Reed aggressively boxing Wemby out. Spur center got tangled up with some Wolves players including Jaden McDaniels and Wemby not happy about it. So he just chucks a clear elbow, connects squarely with Nasrid's chin, he goes down. And after review, the referees assessed Wembanyama a flagrant two foul and he was ejected. He had to ask Harrison Barnes, what the hell is a flagrant 2 foul? That means you're out of here. Okay, I'm out of here.
Tas Melis
What happened?
J. Skeets
Holy moly. This was obviously huge to the game though. Great fight from the spurs and they were up in the fourth quarter and we'll unpack that. But the two questions off this TAS are one, was this a warranted flagrant two ejection for Wembanyama? And then two, is that it? Are we done there or will the league suspend women Yama for game five or more moving forward, what do you
Tas Melis
think unquestionably deserve to be tossed from this game? I think the big winner is Jaden McDaniels for hitting Wemby in the head. That got him so frustrated that he said, I'm sick and tired of this. Because all the talk before that hit was, well, this guy is handling all this physical play so well. He is so calm. And you're right, Nas Reed a mean box box out. He's the winner from last night too. Guy got hit over and over and over again, but just kept going. But then Jaden McDaniels hits him over the head and he's so mad he throws an elbow. Will he get suspended? I don't think so. I think the. I think he paid his dues in terms of playoff dues. You are ejected from a game early. So I think that's fine. I think we are where we are. Done and done.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, he definitely deserved to be ejected. Cause that was a brutal elbow. That's like the kind of elbow that left Bill Cartwright with his voice, you know, right in the throat to Nas Reed. He's sending a message for sure. He's protecting himself. Mitch Johnson said as much in post games. Like he's getting hacked all the time. Of course he's going to try and protect himself. But when you're 7 foot 5, your elbows are just going to end up high. So if he's, if Wemmy's throwing elbows like that, it's not surprising that he's going to hit somebody in the head. That's just how he's. His body is. Will he get suspended? I lean towards no. But this ain't too different than Meta World Peace. James Harden back in the day. Now look, Meta World Peace had a monster track record at the time. This is Wemby's first ejection. He's one of the poster boys for the NBA. So I think it's doubtful they suspend him. But if they came down with a 1 gamer, I'd be like, okay, that was a bad elbow.
Tas Melis
Right. But the spurs lost. And I think that's part of the equation too. Interesting. If, if they win, it's different. It's. They're up 3:1 here in this scenario. I think it is a little different where you kind of paid your dues.
J. Skeets
Well, no, that. I, I think what you said earlier, the time of when it happened is huge. Because I do wonder if this happens in the fourth quarter. Oh, halfway through the fourth where he's frustrated, chucks a bow, pops him in the face, gets ejected rightfully so would he then get a game suspension? But because it was like he only played what, 12 minutes of this. It was like this was almost in a weird way the one game suspension which like you said, they go on to lose.
Trey Kirby
Right?
J. Skeets
I'm saying I do not think he's going to get a suspension here. I don't. I think he'll be playing in game five. But look, he's going to have to keep putting up with this, right? He's going to face this for the rest of his career.
Tas Melis
Oh yeah.
J. Skeets
This physicality. But this game was. I mean they were letting a lot go in this. So the frustration even early in the game was building to the Point where he's like doing the get off me and he's chucking bows and he caught him. Yeah, and, and there was a lot of like, you know, I mean, I'm sure you guys seen Dylan Harper's reaction in the moment real time when he saw the elbow connect with Nas written, he goes, oh yeah.
Tas Melis
But he was also doing that all before the Wemby elbow. I think he was reacting to guys on top just, yeah.
J. Skeets
Draped all over him maybe.
Tas Melis
But Wemmy had been acting so calmly again until that one elbow for several, several games. Like we talked about. Bismack, Beambo in practice is hitting him and he seems to be calm every single game until that moment when if Nas Reed isn't an undersized player, maybe if he's Rudy Gobert and he's 71, he gets it in the chest area instead of the neck area. Maybe it's not a suspension or, or an ejection, I should say, but that deserved an ejection.
J. Skeets
How about the pop from the crowd after Zack Zarba got on the mic and said flagrant too. Wow, the place goes absolutely berserk. I did like Harrison Barnes, like we talked about telling him. Whether you believe Wemby didn't know what it actually meant, who knows? But I like Wemby nodding away. He was clapping.
Trey Kirby
Yes sir.
J. Skeets
Then he started high fiving everybody. I mean he handled the ejection pretty calmly. And credit to the Wolves PA team for playing Michael Jackson's Beat it while he was leaving the floor. You know, you get a lot of hit the road Jack and all that. I like to beat it. You get.
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
J. Skeets
With the timing of the Michael movie out right now, I thought well played all around. And then, you know, obviously it impacted the game. But the spurs put up a hell of fight. Incredible third quarter from them.
Tas Melis
Oh, I just flashback to the four times that they beat OKC this season. They had all of their guys running all of the time. Makes or misses, especially on makes they'd have. It didn't matter who it was. Dylan Harper's so good last night. So, so good. Darren Fox up and down the Stefan Castle, even some Keldon Johnson at times. Devon Vas. Every single guy would run it down and they would pick who they wanted to play against. If they had a matchup, they would play it. And, and that's what they did all last night. And I thought that was so impressive to respond like that. So we had a great game. I mean it went down to Deer and Fox gave him a lead with 4:40 left. He hit that shot. But then the weird thing to me was the next possession he comes down. Felt like a heat check. Three ball without one pass. I didn't really, didn't really understand that. And then, you know, he missed the rest of the way. He kind of hesitated with Rudy Gobert sort of close to him on his next opportunity, but could have just shot that and. Yeah, then in and out. So he went for four after that. Yeah, it was a fun, fun.
J. Skeets
I mean, it came down to the two clutch guys on both sides, like who came through and who didn't in game four. And Ant was hitting all these tough shots, hit a couple big threes, had that huge put back to extend the lead where Fox was obviously missing down the stretch there.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, Fox had three midis that he definitely could have made and that he made in the first half of the fourth quarter and just it wasn't there later on. But I actually kind of thought Ant carried them to the finish line and it was the other Wolves that got him over. I thought it was pretty funny when he was asked postgame and about it and it felt like he was negging like Nas Reed and Rudy Gobert. He said they made small time plays. I was like, what? How dare you say that about things like. But coach says small time plays equal. Big time wins.
J. Skeets
Saved it. Yeah, you got me.
Tas Melis
You got me, Anthony. True stuff.
Trey Kirby
Randle grabbing offensive boards or like that little floater pass he gave to Gobert throws it down. Gobert was a monster on the glass. Nas Reed had the nice dish to go bear underneath. He was playing well, playing big. So the spurs, you know, they didn't have Wemby. They tried Luke Cornett during the first half of the fourth quarter. It wasn't going well. He was looking a little bit out of gas, maybe a little bit over tasked having to step in for Wemby. Then they tried the small lineup and couldn't grab a rebound.
J. Skeets
Yep.
Trey Kirby
So it was those small time plays by the big guys that it adds up to a big win. Anthony Edwards, he was cooking.
J. Skeets
Oh, my God.
Tas Melis
Oh, my God.
J. Skeets
Yeah, he. Yeah, like.
Trey Kirby
Well, he got completely exhausted. He was not good. He was not good the last five minutes. He did have the, the one put back, but he was a big part of the reason that the Wolves almost threw this one away too. I'm Convinced if Game 1 and Game 4 were 49 minutes long, this would have been a sweep for San Antonio because the last minute was brutal for Minnesota. I don't know what they were trying to do they got saved by IO Da Sumo's foot. That's a foot catch since Nebraska Football 97.
J. Skeets
That was wild. I mean, they had to get it obviously into the front court because of how close they were to the back. Yeah. Long pass coming up and. Oh, my God. Yeah. IO Desumo. Yeah. It sort of gets undercut a little bit by Fox. They're both going for the ball. And then it hits the back of his leg. And then, like, he nearly fumbled it away and somehow kept it in bounds. Otherwise, pretty cool. Pulled this off.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Edwards definitely gassed. You saw him go into the tunnel. He literally grabbed an oxygen mask. You don't see that very often in NBA history, I don't think. I mean, it was a really quick spurt on the oxygen mask, and then he got right back out there with just for a quick squirt. And, yeah, he. He obviously had an incredible fourth quarter until that point. Yeah, the spurs just. They couldn't close it out, but a lot of fight to get there. And Anthony Edwards also said post game, talked a little trash to a Spurs rookie.
Trey Kirby
He said.
Tas Melis
I guess he was talking about Dylan Harper. He's like, I would have packed it on him. I would have dunked on him.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
But for that, if my knees were good, you know? So admitting those knees obviously aren't right, but pretty funny that he's talking trash about. I would have killed that rookie, essentially. Pretty funny.
J. Skeets
I believe him.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Yeah, he looks freaking good. I mean, he's. He's able to pick whatever side he wants to go on or if he's gonna pull up from three, and he was hammering and he was hitting them. He looks so good.
J. Skeets
Like, dapped up Mitch Johnson after he has.
Tas Melis
That was very fun.
J. Skeets
Last night's game four, to me, was a perfect example of why you should never live tweet during a game. Because when I tell you the things I would have tweeted about Julius Randle through this game, for the first 45 minutes or so, I thought he was complete garbage. I thought he was blowing it. I was getting, like, secondhand embarrassment watching him first off try and guard any of the guards on the Spurs. He was getting cooked by anyone that he got matched up on. Like, and that's a tough cover. I get that. But he was coughing the ball up all night. Some, like, crazy ones. There was that fast break one where he just completely gave it away. I'm like, what are you doing, man? But then he totally redeemed himself. Like you said, Trey at the end, he had some big Boards beautiful. Well, sort of a crazy Randall player. He's like he just isoed on Castle. He's way bigger. So he like sort of like came from the three point line, curled in, back down, spun and then Cordette came over to help and that was a beautiful little dump off to Rudy Gobert. So I thought like brutal for the most part game from Randall but right at the end made some big, big plays.
Tas Melis
Yeah, watching him against the Fawn Castle before Wemby win out. I thought this was supposed to be sort of an advantage of his size wise. The spurs are going to be small aside from Wemby, but Stefan Castle had a really, really solid game and was winning that battle for a long time until the end. But lots of wolves. Trey mentioned the Rudy Gobert plays. I mean he got hit by Wemby in the face once. The offensive boards, I mean they had 12 second chance points in the first quarter. The Wolves did, led by Rudy Gobert. Naz Reed was huge. Conley splashed a couple shots. They all got them to that point at the end of the game. I shouldn't say all. I mean there's lots of guys who missed a lot of shots. But I thought the nas, the Conley, the Rudy for sure.
J. Skeets
That huge like lay up there screaming. Yeah, it wasn't. And one where he's screaming to the rim there and then obviously.
Tas Melis
And his foot. Nice footwork.
J. Skeets
So lucky. So lucky.
Tas Melis
It was so lucky.
J. Skeets
Yeah, but he grabbed it.
Tas Melis
You can't call a kickball in that situation.
Trey Kirby
No, just hit his offense, can't kick the ball. So you're right.
J. Skeets
Yeah, and it's just like hit him like way up on the leg too.
Trey Kirby
I thought it was a foot ant. Shouted out Roddy White of the Atlanta Falcons on that one. What a pull from Anthony Edwards. Like I mean Julio Jones would have probably been the guy I would have thought of if I'm a Falcons fan like him. But Roddy White, maybe he did a foot catch at some point.
J. Skeets
Roddy White, he was already tweeting about it. He was happy to get his name referenced there on the broad. So best of three series here we all sounds like we all think Wemby will be there for game five. I guess we find out today or probably find out today with the game tomorrow. I mean is this one just still set up for a classic seven game series? It's sure leaning towards that.
Tas Melis
Well, maybe. I mean I just think both games are going to be close no matter what. Spurs could win five and six. You know, I guess the Wolves could, too.
J. Skeets
It's what we anticipated. This is going to be a hell of a. That's why they've been super close, because that was like, look, I was getting worried, obviously, picking the wolves in this. I'm like, oh, my God, no, Wemby. And I'm like, I don't know if that's a good thing with this Wolves team. And then they were down, what was it, eight or nine points, and it's like this is their season right here. And Ant sort of just saved them. And then everybody else contributed at the end, but I don't think they're coming back three one against this talented spurs team. So, yeah, now it's best of three and we'll find out the pivotal game five tomorrow night.
Trey Kirby
This is a pivotal.
J. Skeets
This is a pivotal one.
Trey Kirby
This one's a definite pivotal.
J. Skeets
That could be. Whoever wins game five goes on to win.
Trey Kirby
And I mean, a huge part of it will be the decision from the league office if Wemby plays or not because he had A poor game one on the offensive end. Obviously had the 12 blocks in that game, set the playoff record, but wasn't much offensively. And then the games he played well offensively, the spurs totally dominated, including that game Friday when he looked like he was from another realm.
J. Skeets
Oh, yeah, right, right.
Trey Kirby
That Friday performance by Wemby was sick. So if he's able to play in the final three games, I think advantage spurs having home court advantage as well. But if he has to miss Game 5, like, that's a total toss up.
J. Skeets
Yeah, yeah. We'll wait to find out. I'm glad you brought up that Friday, which feels like an eternity ago at this point, but that was an incredible. The fourth quarter alone, his stat line was insane.
Trey Kirby
Like the fade away.
J. Skeets
He's crazy, man.
Trey Kirby
He's literally like, yeah, I had to do a Hakeem Olajuwon move. No big deal. Just tossed it off, guys.
J. Skeets
Had an eventful nine playoff games in his career already. When you consider the concussion and the huge performances and then the ejection.
Tas Melis
He learned. He learned it from Hakeem. He said that right? Because he has had tutorials from Hakeem. I've had that.
On Plus Nicotine Pouches Announcer
Yeah.
Tas Melis
This. This series has been so good. That's why it's impossible to predict things. I thought Dylan Harper was sort of the difference for a long time in this game, like he was going to put them over the top. I thought he was amazing.
J. Skeets
Oh, my God.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, he's gonna be their second best player next year.
J. Skeets
Oh, yeah.
Trey Kirby
They're not going to be able to bring him off the bench.
J. Skeets
He's so freaking good. I mean they were. Reggie Miller was like he was going. He was fawning over him, let's say on the broadcast and rightfully so. Goddamn. Every bucket is like. It is like what that guy's a rookie. How he's so in poised and like through contact and yeah, he was monster.
Trey Kirby
Guys all over him. Seven rebounds. Like they played small and he was probably their best rebounder.
J. Skeets
Yeah, yeah.
Tas Melis
And he came through with a block and a steal late in this game. He did everything. It looked really, really good. I'm sure Reggie was the one making comparisons to Manu Ginobly. Right. Because he is left handed. He does come off the bench.
J. Skeets
They made some comparisons like what may have been Crawford but like I think Brunson. He was given a Brunson comparison to him. A bigger Brunson. See the vision and then maybe did Cade get brought up too? I can't remember if they did or not. Anyway, he's great. He's a star already.
Trey Kirby
He's shooting 55% from the field, 40% from three in his. His first playoffs as a rookie.
J. Skeets
That's pretty solid. Pretty solid. So game five tomorrow night and we'll wait to see what the league does with Wemby. Let's hear from you and the Stream team. You think he'll be suspended? Think he deserves to be suspended?
Trey Kirby
No.
J. Skeets
Fine. Where, what do you, where do you go with this one? I don't. I do not know why unless you were obviously a Wolves fan, why you would ever like if you're just a neutral NBA fan, I don't know why you would be like cheering for a Game 5 suspension. I don't get that. Personally, I'd like to see them battle it out here as they have been. But yeah, I don't know. Also like Silver's not doing it or who's in charge. James Jones. No, and I don't think it's right. I think he got ejected. It was early enough in the game, had an impact on the game. He's got no track record of this stuff. Yeah. Move on. Let's play.
Trey Kirby
Inside you there are two wolves. There's the wolf who loves moving their body and then there's the wolf who loves lounging. And buddy, they're howling for Vuori. When we moved into our house a few years back, one of the things that caught our interest was that the sellers described the backyard as a gardener's paradise. And let me tell you, we garden hard flowers, ferns, foods, compost, raised beds, hammocks. Not necessarily guarding that last one, but chilling is very important too. The one thing we're missing though? A potting table. So don't tell my wife, but she's getting one for Mother's Day and I found it on Wayfair. Support from this show comes from Quince. I'm way overdue for a wardrobe refresh. I'm a podcast host that is very important. I drive a Chevy Trax. I'm a man. I'm 45. Clothes shopping in person is simply not a priority for me, so I usually wear the same stuff till my wife calls me out. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quints has been my new go to I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts. One striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable but still look put together. And the best part is I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quince works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen. So you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use. Head to Quince.com nodunks for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. Now available in Canada too. That's Q-U I N C E.com nodunks for free shipping and 365 day returns. Quints.com no Dunks Knick Sweep in Philadelphia where it was. What do you think it was? 75 80% Knicks fans in attendance. They were having a damn party because they buried the 76ers 1454 to 114 behind a game four three point barrage there. And they are back to the east finals. Our first team into the final four tasks. This was Deuce McBride. Deuce hitting seven threes in total, four for four in the first quarter. 25 points.
Tas Melis
The guy has been given the small gesture. Too small for me in each series. CG McCollum did it to him. Tyrese Maxey did it to him. He'll get it in the next round too I'm sure. Starting for OG Anunoby. They win two games without og oh yeah, no problem. It is a different offense with Carlton Anthony tens out there rifling it around. You think in the first three games of this playoff series or this playoff run for the Knicks and then afterwards where they change it up and went to Cat passing around and everybody talking about Cat and how he's evolved, you'd think that his numbers just in general have gone up well before those assists he was 21 points per game. He dropped to 16 points per game after that. But it's just so different. He's just a part of everything, making everything a part of everything. He jumped from three assists to eight assists per game. Since they're good, this is the best Knicks we've seen. How can they not go to the NBA Finals? How can they not? I know it's too early to call it, but how can they not against whether it's the Pistons or the Cavs?
J. Skeets
Anyway, they're going to the NBA Finals if they're hitting 25 threes in a game, I'll tell you that. 25 threes on 44 attempts, that's 57%. And they tied the record for most threes by a single team in a playoff game. And this game was over after the first quarter.
Trey Kirby
They were 11 for 13 from 3 in the first quarter. That's a ridiculous number to see. I blame the Boston Celtics on this.
J. Skeets
Go on.
Trey Kirby
Well, Philadelphia won their championship by beating the Celtics in game seven of the first round, Right?
J. Skeets
Right.
Trey Kirby
Celtics would have definitely given the Knicks a better run here. And this is coming from a guy who picked Sixers and seven.
J. Skeets
Right.
Trey Kirby
So them blowing this cost us a decent second round series here because the Sixers had nothing. And I also put a lot of it on beat. Like he had a pretty good game yesterday, 24 points on 8 of 8 shooting. But he can't. He played. Game one, didn't look good. Sixers blowout. They shouldn't have played him that game. So they didn't play him. Game two, had a chance to win, didn't win, brought him back. Game three, for some reason completely threw off Maxi's rhythm. They were playing through Embiid the entire time in game three. I thought game four was a little bit better job of at least splitting the responsibilities between Maxi and Embiid. But they like to be in the second round of the playoffs and you're wondering, will we get the number one usage guy on our team to play? Will he have any sort of legs? That's just not a way you should go into a playoff series. So it felt like they were beat going into game four. And then the Knicks caught fire. 11 for 13 and it was just over. And so I just. The Sixers, what a weird season. Like, I think this is an encouraging season for the Sixers to play as well as they did. To see Maxi take a step to being like a all NBA. He'll probably be second team all NBA this year. He was in the mix For MVP at one point, at least getting votes. Paul George had a great playoffs up until this game. For the most part. Those are encouraging signs. Edgecombe, a really great player, but you get smashed the way they did. Losing in a sweep and losing by basically 50 points in your last game. Getting booed off the court by Knicks fans in your own building. That's like just a classic depressing end to the season for the Sixers. Yeah, same old same.
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah.
Trey Kirby
Just a different route to get there.
J. Skeets
Yeah, I mean, the Knicks are rolling right now too. Like they don't want to break. I know. It's nice to get OG some time here to rest up. And they have maybe some older guys that could use the days off as they wait for the Pistons Cavaliers to do whatever they're gonna do in their series and how long that goes. But like they are just, they. The Knicks have found right now the perfect balance between high end talent and then the depth and Mike Brown getting contributions from these guys that come in here and they're just clicking. I don't know what the hell happened in that locker room after that Game 3 loss to Atlanta, but dating back to the Game 4 win over the Hawks in the first round, they've won their last seven games by an average of 26.4 points. They've had a true shooting percentage of 66.2% over this break. In the two closeout games against the Hawks and 76ers, they won by a combined 81 points. We're always told that's the toughest game to win. The one where you put a team to bed for their season. That's the toughest. That's been the easiest for the Knicks as they play just elite basketball. Like people, Knicks fans that have been Knicks fans for like 40 years are like, this is the best the Knicks have ever looked. And they're not wrong.
Trey Kirby
They could easily be 8 and O in the playoffs, right?
J. Skeets
Yes. With the two losses, if C.J.
Trey Kirby
mcCollum misses two shots. Eight. No, sure.
J. Skeets
So yeah, they are going to be heavy favorites, as they should be, I think, against obviously the Pistons who played them well in the regular season and the Cavaliers who have not like impressed by any imagination here so far?
Tas Melis
No. Yeah. They're obviously they're rolling behind. Would you even consider Carl Anthony Towns on the defensive end a liability right now like we've always have since he's been with the New York Knicks? Doesn't feel that way just because he's so involved offensively. Mike Brown adopting what demonte Sabonis used to do in Sacramento for him. That's why Demonte Sabonis on the Toronto Raptors, you got to do it. But Carl Anthony Towns just feels like he's involved every single possession. He's not just standing around. It isn't just Jalen Brunson bringing up the ball. So I thought coming into this postseason, the second round matchup against the Boston Celtics, who was supposed to be them, would slow down their whole playoff momentum. But it's easier than last year now considering obviously they're playing better. But last year they had the Pistons, then the Celtics, then they lost to the Pacers in the third round instead. Very different here. And there was a Hawks and there
J. Skeets
was injuries piling up for the Knicks last year, which we sort of do forget about. That's not to discredit what the Pacers did in that incredible run. But there was a lot of guys banged up, getting injured, you know, starting to come out of the lineup as that went on. Like the playoffs are like, it's a war of attrition at some point. So this is huge to obviously not mess around. Wrap this up.
Tas Melis
Yeah. And now get to Brunson was banged up last year.
J. Skeets
Oh yeah. Robinson was out.
Tas Melis
It's like you OG because how good they have been with Carlton Towns leading the way. That's rolled into Mikel Bridges playing way better and so many guys playing so well. It's like OG Anunoby right here, right now. He can leave him out for a couple games just, just cuz they're absolutely cooking. But you want him to come back.
J. Skeets
That was our thinking when we had, when he picked up the injury. We talked about it here like, oh, do you think he'll play the game three? And we're like probably not. Because they're like, they don't need to like rush them back at all. They feel so confident. Right. They're getting contributions like you can bring these guys in. I mean Shamon had a big game on Friday night, right. So yeah, they're okay. They're like. They just get to rest them and he'll be. He'll have been off like it's going to be like 10 plus days. Isn't it good by the time they play. I don't, I don't think it starts until the 17th or 19th, the conference finals. It's the 11th today. Yeah, he's got a hell of a break here for the hamstring. Any other thoughts on Nick's sweepin?
Trey Kirby
I thought Bridges played a really, really great series. 18 per game. 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 64% from the field. And his defense on Maxi was pretty good. Like Maxi for the series ended up at 18 a game on 43% shooting. After lighting things up in the first round, he had a couple of big scoring games, but even those were inefficient. And Mikhail Bridges was a huge question mark even in the Hawks series until he exploded in game six. Carried over into this series as well. But there were times during the regular season when Mike Brown with was going with Landry shamit or Deuce McBride over McHale bridges as like their perimeter stopper. This was a big responsibility to be able to stick Maxing. I thought he did a really, really good job while also still having enough juice to contribute on the offensive end as well. So that's encouraging for New York. It feels like everybody's like Brunson. We barely even mention him right now because everybody else is playing so well. But he's out of good playoffs. Towns has taken. Has changed his game and has taken a step forward. I don't really think there's a big man to test him defensively in the Eastern Conference. Like, okay, Embiid went for one, eight for eight. But okay, he's hitting tough shots and you're getting so much back on the offensive end that it doesn't matter. OG was their best player through six games, basically. And then Bridges has been solid as well. Good performances from the bench. They look like the team to beat in the east for sure.
J. Skeets
Yeah. 25 of their threes, I think in game four, 21 of them were assisted too. So, like, the ball is just the player movement, the ball movement, it's clicking offensively. The numbers they've just put up in this series were astronomical. Like offensive rating wise and, you know, especially because then there was a bunch of garbage time in game four and that sort of brought it down a little bit. Impressive stuff. Nixon to the. Into the final four. Do you think they care at all who they would rather play, be it Pistons or Cavs or just like with the. The way they're playing right now, it's
Tas Melis
like, come on, I think they'd rather play the Calves.
J. Skeets
Let's get home court advantage in that scenario too.
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah.
J. Skeets
Which is big.
Tas Melis
Yeah. But there's a, a tough level to the Pistons that the Caps can't match. The Knicks feel like they can outscore the Cavs while the Pistons play a little harder. I think, okay, they gotta, they gotta feel like they can outscore the Cats.
J. Skeets
I think they think they can outscore anyone Right.
Trey Kirby
I don't think they're really concerned.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
J. Skeets
Anything else?
Trey Kirby
A lot of Knicks fans there. A lot of Knicks fans. I mean, like, Sixers fans, though. They're like, I'll make back my season ticket Money. And we're down 30 anyways.
J. Skeets
Not at all. And like.
Trey Kirby
And it's Mother's Day, these Knicks fans
J. Skeets
are going because it's way cheaper than to go to the Garden in New York. It's so close. I mean, I'm sure there's a lot of just Knicks fans in the Philadelphia area anyway, so. Not. I mean, it's. It's alarming to see that many Knicks fan, like, or visiting fans in a barn. But, like, no, I don't blame anyone at all.
Trey Kirby
Maxi said it was louder for the Knicks in Philadelphia than it was in Madison Square Garden.
J. Skeets
Yeah. Yeah. Because they're like, wow, we never get to see our team play.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, exactly.
J. Skeets
This is cool. And we're like. I mean, also, they were hammering them. It was like they got to celebrate the entire game after they, you know, Deuce McBride hit his fourth three in a row. It's basically a party for the rest of the afternoon.
Tas Melis
Yeah. When you have. When you're in opposing barn, too, you gotta be loud. When you're at home, it's a little more chill, but. So you're saying they sold season seats in general?
Trey Kirby
I'm gonna say I'm not surprised that people that would have had Philadelphia 76 or season tickets see the season coming to an end and say, all right, I'll sell this ticket for a thousand bucks.
Tas Melis
Right. All right. Has it been documented how many they sold? I'm just wondering.
Trey Kirby
I haven't checked the ticket.
J. Skeets
Here, let me text my buddy.
Trey Kirby
Judging by the. The demographics and the jerseys that look like about 75% of Sixers fans sold their tickets. There was. It was like the wall for the Knicks.
J. Skeets
It was crazy.
Trey Kirby
They were holding up their Mitchell Robinson dunking on Joel Embiid photos, and it looked no different than if they were playing a Madison Square Garden.
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Game four was a big. A big increase versus Game three. Yeah.
J. Skeets
Because they're down three zero. And, like, Tracy. Well, that's a wrap. I think we have no chance, so let's make a little money back on these. And I've got, yeah, Mother's Day plans here. Let's take a moment.
Trey Kirby
Anything else?
Tas Melis
Yeah, everything's dead.
J. Skeets
And whoever did that, they made the right decision. Yeah. You know, you don't love to see it, maybe, you know, still support the team. But come on.
Tas Melis
At a certain point, Mother's Day is a great day to do things that you think, oh, it'll be busy. People be out there. But it's not true.
J. Skeets
Really?
Super Producer JD
Yeah.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Went to Costco yesterday, thinking Costco's on week, on weekends, always busy, right? Mother's Day, not so much. Cruising, nice cruising. Open lanes.
J. Skeets
What'd you get? Anything fun?
Tas Melis
Oh, very fun stuff at Costco.
J. Skeets
What'd you get?
Tas Melis
Oh, I got some dried figs. Thanks for asking.
Trey Kirby
Oh, the big bag.
Tas Melis
Big bag.
Trey Kirby
I got that big bag. Smyrna dried figs, straight from Smyrna. Oh, my God, they're so good. Never thought a cat butthole would look so delicious.
Tas Melis
Great. Got to return them now.
J. Skeets
Yeah, thanks.
Tas Melis
I need.
J. Skeets

J. Skeets
Yeah. For Bellows Ball. Yes.
Tas Melis
Yes. We were all mesmerized. Right. I mean, we were looking through this. This was extensive. How much work Gustav put into this?

J. Skeets
Yeah. How'd you get blue sports.com?
Tas Melis
yeah, pretty good URL.
J. Skeets
We gotta snatch that up.
Trey Kirby
Who do you think should have been using it before?
Tas Melis
That's a great question. I don't really have a good answer for them. Who would be using blowsports.com? i mean, just Teams that are bad.
J. Skeets
Let's say the Wizards, like the Wizards should have that redirected to their website.
Tas Melis
Yeah, something, something.
Trey Kirby
It's like a tankathon could follow under the Blow Sports umbrella.
J. Skeets
Right?
Trey Kirby
You could do it for every sport.
Tas Melis
Every sport.
J. Skeets
All right, well, lowboy of the night goes to Deuce McBride. Please call him by his government name. Miles McBride scored a playoff career high 25 points in that Knicks series, clinching game four seven to ten from the floor. All of his makes coming from three. Deuce. Just letting him rip from deep out of four boards, one steal, zero turnovers in 29 minutes of action. So it was gonna be. It was between Ant and Deuce, but I thought, why not give Deuce some love. Congratulations, Deuce McBride. Your blowing sports and Illustrated history of Bellows Ball, Blow Ball and Blow Pong hardcover is in the mail. That's what you get for winning. Whoa, boy.
Tas Melis
Today
J. Skeets
you get this.
Trey Kirby
What is this? Deuce McBride with everybody else in the Knicks, they got like a week off to read this cool new book.
Tas Melis
They got mind blown.
J. Skeets
Mind blow. All right, game four. Look ahead. Before we go here, we've got two game fours tonight in Cleveland, in la. Let's start with the Pistons Cavs. I mean, you know, we didn't talk about it because it happened on Saturday, and there was a lot of other things happening with the games and the draft lottery, but Harden coming through finally did it. Yeah, you did, man. You absolutely called it. But he sort of, you know, them in the Cavs obviously keep their season alive. You know, they go down three. Oh, they're not winning this thing. So it's two one now. And what are you looking for tonight here from Cleveland side of things? And can they do this again?
Tas Melis
Can they do it again? Detroit, they did miss a decent amount of bunnies in this game. I thought they could have gotten off a little bit better. But the Cavs, they fought. Max Stru was given. I'm sure. I'm sure there was a Max stress level, let's pun it up. Amongst Cleveland Cavaliers fan. But Max Drew came through with these little classic glue guy moments where he's in front of Kate Cunningham, he's trying to inbound the ball underneath his own hoop. So he throws it off the bar, that connects the stanchion to the backboard. And then that huge steal catching it from Cade Cunningham on that inbound, you know, throwing it off of Jalen Dern early. He was a classic guy. Hard cuts, drives. His number, his numbers aren't spectacular, but I think he was Just doing the, the stuff that got him to the NBA Finals when he was with the Miami. He's just that kind of stuff. And then Harden took it home those last 90 seconds. Just set a pick, go up against Tobias or Duncan. Listen, I don't know. I don't have a great feeling for this game because the season here, it's. It's up for the Cleveland Cavaliers here in game four. They lose, it's over.
J. Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
I think.
J. Skeets
You don't think we get another three one.
Tas Melis
So, yeah, we feel good after that one, but who knows?
J. Skeets
Yeah, watching. I watched this game in a bar in New Orleans and it was a weird game because, like, Cavs come out, you know, take control in the second quarter. You're like, okay, huge lead. All right, that's good. They're going to get this home win. But then the Pistons come storming back and I'm thinking, watching and going like, oh, that's it. You know, they gave up a huge lead here. They got momentum going. But then Harden comes through and Cade, man, he was brutal down the stretch. This was bad. Kade, I know he had triple double. These were brutal turnovers.
Trey Kirby
Three straight turnovers. Two and a half minutes left.
J. Skeets
Yeah, rough, rough stuff.
Trey Kirby
Including that.
J. Skeets
So given the Cavs a lifeline there and they took advantage to get this win. But yeah, it's tough to sort of predict how this game will go tonight because from quarter to quarter you sort of get Jekyll and Hydes with some of these teams.
Trey Kirby
This series is very alive. It could be 3, 0 either way. All three games have been clutch and it's just been which stars have played better. Detroit star Cade Cunningham played better than Harden and Mitchell in Games 1 and 2. And Mitchell and Harden both outplayed Cade in the fourth quarter of Game 4. So that's kind of what it comes down to. I mean, three straight clutch buckets from Harden. Hit a jumper, hit a floater, hit a three pointer, and it was vintage hardened buckets as well. The crossover was nice. He had the step back where he fell down before the ball was basically out of his hand. Could have been an and one, but it wasn't. And they just look good. And it was Mo. It was Mitchell, I thought, kind of carried them. Yeah, up until the 5 minute mark and then he was happy to defer to Harden, who was looking effective. I thought Alan Mobley kind of had big performances as well. At least they, I think they probably played out, outplayed Jalen Duran. They had impacts. You know, neither of them had crazy huge numbers or anything like that.
J. Skeets
They left a lot of points on the board at the free throw line. Those two, too? Sure. Yeah.
Trey Kirby
But they made an impact inside, and their defense forced a ton of turnovers from Detroit. So turnovers and clutch play is kind of what it's all come down to in this series. So game four should be good.
J. Skeets
Yep. As for the other game tonight, 10:30, this one's on prime. The first one I should have said is on NBC. Peacock. But Thunder, Lakers. Is this the last time we see LeBron James play TAS in his career? Yeah, no, I know. You know the. I know you think the answer is no. I heard Friday, but sure feels that way. Okay.
Tas Melis
Hey, it could be.
J. Skeets
Right?
Tas Melis
Yeah. Listen, I'm just counting the smiles of OKC's players. I think they got the most smiles per game of any team in the league. They smile all. They're so comfortable with who they are, what they are, no matter what the game is. So we'll see if they can do another one. I mean, we gotta sort of got a Case and Wallace game in. Game number three, the Classic. Every year, you're gonna get a Case and Wallace game. Four threes for him.
J. Skeets
AJ Mitchell. Awesome.
Tas Melis
Oh, my gosh. AJ Mitchell. Yeah, he looks really, really good. Austin Re is gonna do some complaining tonight. It's like Luca never got injured. We gotta. We got Luca part two here. Awesome. Reese. Although I do think it was warranted for a couple times in this game.
J. Skeets
Game.
Tas Melis
He should have got a couple calls. Okay. Luke on the bench with a ball in his hand. The first stint of this game, until the first time out, he was just sitting there with the ball. But then after the timeout, the ball was out of his hands. Should a player on the bench ever have a ball in his hands? That's my question to you. I don't think the answer is yes. I think the answer is no. No, because it can always roll on the. Yeah, it could always roll on the floor. But he had it for, like, when
J. Skeets
we coach kids at the ymca, you can't. Yeah, like, kids always want to have a ball in their hands. No, I know, but there's a. We're saying no, you can't.
Tas Melis
I know. I agree.
J. Skeets
Under the chair.
Tas Melis
I agree. Yeah. Under the chair. Sure, sure. And that's. That's why I think it was asked after the first time, can I get that ball, dude? Because he's just sitting there with the ball the entire time. That's all I got to say. That's all my analysis from this series. I Know, it's just feels like it's over, baby.
Trey Kirby
It is. Every game is the same. The first half is pretty close. Lakers have led in the last two games point differential in the first half of this series. Plus five. Second half, it's a blowout for OKC every time. Plus 54 through three games. They've got 12 guys who could play for the Lakers and there's like three guys on the Lakers that would actually play for the Thunder.
J. Skeets
Yeah, yeah.
Tas Melis
They're not ready for that perimeter defense.
Trey Kirby
And you're right, deandre Ayton ain't one of them. There was a great JJ Redick, I can't play him moment, and then he gave up another offensive rebound and got yanked. You had Dave pash calling out DeAndre8 and be like, he can't grab a defensive rebound. He's right there and he can't grab it.
J. Skeets
Yeah. So I mean, will he, will he start tonight? Does J.J. really get. You know, I mean, you're right. They, they, they do okay in the first half, but a part of that feels like OKC is just like we'll. Just like we'll lean into this game or build in this game.
Tas Melis
That's what they. Reddick did last year was pull Jackson Hayes to play small. Yes, true. So I guess it was a rough
J. Skeets
weekend for Lakers fans though, when you consider like all of Friday after game three or game two was sort of them complaining about, you know, the officiating. Only then for the Thunder to have what, 10 free throws on Saturday total? Not a lot. You know, sga, I think had a majority of those, but it wasn't a crazy number, of course. And they still lose by 20 plus. So 17 threes. Yeah, it's not, not good. So I don't know, I think I thought I saw something saying Austin Reeves guarantees a win here tonight. I don't know. Came across my timeline. I don't know if it was real. I'm like, wow, okay, that's bold. I'm going to win game four.
Trey Kirby
We're going to get a win.
J. Skeets
Okay. Okay. Well, hopefully we get a little more basketball. Otherwise we have two series that were sweeps and then it's going to be a very sort of a fascinating schedule here for us with at most one game a night. You know, sort of like conference finals time. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. It's like pre conference finals. Good point. So we'll see if Austin Reaves and The Lakers and LeBron can extend the series or do OKC just sweep here and remain undefeated. This is like a Fun storyline here. And it could go to 8. No here tonight. No team's ever done that. I don't think anyone expects that with either the spurs or Wolves lurking in the conference finals, let alone the Knicks in the finals or whoever comes out of the East. But the Thunder are awesome, too. So, you know, would it be. Would you put it past them to be like, oh, we could try that. We'll do that.
Trey Kirby
A 16 0.
J. Skeets
Yeah, I mean.
Trey Kirby
I mean, you. I. I definitely think they could sweep anybody from the Eastern Conference.
J. Skeets
Okay, so maybe it's this net conference finals one.
Trey Kirby
The Knicks are playing well.
J. Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
But also Jalen Williams isn't playing. They don't even have their second best player right now.
J. Skeets
I know, I know, man. It's amazing. It is amazing. All right, we'll see. We'll see what happens tonight. Sorry, I had a little brain fart there. Yeah. We'll watch basketball tonight and we'll talk about it tomorrow here at 10am Eastern. Hopefully you'll join us. Hit the like button. Subscribe five star ratings and reviews. Tas Melis
please send emails.
J. Skeets
There we go.
Tas Melis
Last time I said don't send emails. And in all honesty, we got a bunch that were pretty good. But you can send them on.
J. Skeets
Hey, bro, let me dap you up. You cleaned up that Gmail inbox real nice. That's clean in there right now.
Tas Melis
I knew you.
J. Skeets
You know how much joy that brings me.
Tas Melis
I know, I know, I know. I know. You were feeling it when it was in, like the 15, 000 unread.
J. Skeets
I couldn't. I couldn't even open it. I would get anxiety. I don't even. I was like, I gotta get out of here. You got it. I can't believe it. You did a lot of work.
Tas Melis
Yeah. And it got JD and I to the pickleball tournament here in.
J. Skeets
Because you saw an email that said from last year.
Tas Melis
And I said, hey. Hey, dude. Hey. Hey, Ben of Carvana. Is this happening again? Oh, it's like. Yeah. Yeah, it is.
J. Skeets
Wow. You found an email from a year ago about pickleball, like, tickets, and then this is awesome.
Tas Melis
Correct.
J. Skeets
Well, great work. Test.
Tas Melis
Well, yeah, it was more for J.D.
Super Producer JD
oh, it was awesome too.
J. Skeets
Was it? You saw your heroes.
Super Producer JD
My heroes?
J. Skeets
What do you mean? You saw the best pickleball players in the world.
Super Producer JD
I saw the best pickleball players in the world.
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
J. Skeets
Okay, maybe not heroes.
Tas Melis
Not like the words.
J. Skeets
You saw Ben Bennerson.
Super Producer JD
And I saw Ben Johns.
J. Skeets
Oh. Ben Jones, John Benson.
Tas Melis
And.
J. Skeets
And who's the fantastic female player?
Super Producer JD
Anna Lee Waters.
Trey Kirby
Ah, yeah.
J. Skeets
Annalie Waters got. I gotta remember that.
Super Producer JD
Yeah, it was all chalk. The whole day, just chalk. Like, you know, Ben Johns and then Ben Johns playing with Annelie Waters, then Annaly Waters. Then Annaly Waters won singles.
J. Skeets
It was just. But hold on, I thought there's like this 15 year old phenom that sort of like crashed the party.
Super Producer JD
Yeah, yeah, that He. He made it to the finals but got his ass handed to him by poor experience. No, not Ben. Ben doesn't play singles anymore.
Tas Melis
Oh, yeah?
J. Skeets
Why? Why not?
Super Producer JD
Single. Sucks. It's very tiring.
J. Skeets
Oh, he's old.
Super Producer JD
He's like 26. Wait, 27. I don't know. He's.
Tas Melis
Yeah, he's 27. When I check, that's old. And pickleball.
J. Skeets
Hold on. I thought the whole thing about pickleball was you could play till you're like eight.
Super Producer JD
Young man's games.
J. Skeets
Oh my God. Wow. Skateboarding. Wow.
Tas Melis
Yeah. In tennis you can be older and that's more ground to cover.
J. Skeets
Are you thinking about. I think Ben Johns can play.
Super Producer JD
Yeah, he could play.
Tas Melis
He just doesn't give me a Roger Federer, the pickleball. The young player. Tama Shimab Dukuro was a name.
J. Skeets
Wow. That's the phenom.
Super Producer JD
That's the phenom. He's the future. But he lost. He was seated 22 in this. Oh, in this.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Super Producer JD
It was a Cinderella all the way. I mean, it would have been awesome. Everybody was cheering.
J. Skeets
I was going to say crowd favorite.
Super Producer JD
I assume this is the weird thing about pickleball, like, because they're so dominant, these players.
J. Skeets
Yeah, yeah.
Super Producer JD
They just go from town to town and get booed. Not booed, but they're always being rooted again.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
J. Skeets
Everybody wants to see them lose the
Super Producer JD
upset, but they literally never lose.
Tas Melis
It's crazy.
J. Skeets
That is wild.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, they're like if the Harlem Globetrotters were villains.
Super Producer JD
Exactly. That's a great comparison.
Trey Kirby
We gotta see the Generals pulling off.
J. Skeets
All right, well, I'm glad you guys got there and sound like a fun time and good luck to your. To your wife. To Rachel.
Super Producer JD
Thanks.
J. Skeets
Playing what in semi finals tonight.
Super Producer JD
Okay, if we win this, then we go to the city finals the full.
J. Skeets
Oh, I'm sorry. You're playing together.
Super Producer JD
I'm not playing, but I'm on the team, so I'm saying we.
J. Skeets
You're an alternate team. What are you? An alternate?
Super Producer JD
I will be taking my stuff. I. We were instructed to take our stuff just in case.
J. Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
Well, you heard how he came up in the clutch.
J. Skeets
Yes, yes.
Super Producer JD
I was very clutch.
J. Skeets
So good for you.
Tas Melis
I was very was.
J. Skeets
You're the. The new Ben Johns to me, baby.
Super Producer JD
Oh, thanks.
Tas Melis
Yes, thank you.
J. Skeets
Alright, thanks for joining us. Till tomorrow, Clipper Bros. You heard it here first.
Trey Kirby
Have a great time. Turn up.
J. Skeets
Love you guys.
Tas Melis
Awesome. Thanks for joining us. And remember, I don't know if I believe this, but in the words of Burger King, there's a new king. And it's. You seen these ads? That's what they say. They're trying to come back. Burger King's trying to come back. You know, they want a rival. The other greats.
J. Skeets
I did see something that they apparently paid for an entire wedding for two peoples whose last name were Burger and King.
Tas Melis
Okay, that's cool.
J. Skeets
If it's real, let's expect that from them.
Tas Melis
So somebody was. Had the last name Burger. Burger was getting married to a king.
J. Skeets
Yeah, that is pretty cool. Actually.
Trey Kirby
I think they also like, they ditched the king, right? Like, oh yeah, he's got face guy.
Super Producer JD
He's out of here.
Tas Melis
That's part of the ad too.
J. Skeets
So now we're. Now we're the king.
Tas Melis
We're the king.
J. Skeets
Now brace the day, Kings.
Trey Kirby

When we moved into our house a few years back, one of the things that caught our interest was that the sellers described the backyard as a grand gardener's paradise. I'm U.S. transportation Secretary Sean Duffy. We all seem to be in a rush these days, from work to driving our kids around. But when you're behind the wheel, please do not speed.

is never worth the risk. So follow the speed limit, enjoy the drive, maybe bring some snacks for the kids. And know that along the way you're getting quality time with your family. Paid for by nhtsa. For these reasons, I'm pumped to say that Quint has been my new go to. I asked Nora to help me pick out a couple of items, and it turns out she already had a cart ready of things she was planning on getting me from Quints. So I picked up two of the 100% European linen shirts, one striped, one solid. The material feels light and breathable, and the stitching looks really well done. They're the perfect type of pieces that feel easy and comfortable but still look put together. And the best part is, I didn't break the bank. In fact, everything I purchased was priced 50 to 80% less than what you'd find at similar brands. Why? Because Quint works directly with the ethical factories and cuts out the middlemen so you're getting premium materials without the markup. Refresh your everyday with luxury you'll actually use.
