Good morning, sweet world, and welcome to the no Dunks podcast presented by FanDuel. It's Monday, June 8th, 2026. I'm Jay Skeets here in the classic factory and alongside me, as always, Tas Melis.
Tas Melis
Podcast listeners, this is for you.
Jay Skeets
Next to him, it's my top shot, hot boy, Trey Kirby.
Tas Melis
Hey, yo.
Jay Skeets
And over yonder, right over there, making the magic happen, super producer JD Hello. There he is. Here we are. Hello to everybody on YouTube. Hello, podcast listeners. On today's pod, we're gonna get you all set for tonight's game three of the NBA Finals in Madison Square Garden. And later, we'll hit the beach to answer a few of your random questions that you sent in. Some of them Finals related. But first, sadly, we suffered another heartbreaking loss in the NBA yesterday. Stacy King, the longtime Chicago Bulls broadcaster and three time NBA champion as a player with the franchise, died. He was just 59 years old. No cause of death was given, but the Bulls announced this in statements and the Reinsdorf family, both sharing their thoughts just out of nowhere news. Trey, you shared this in the Slack and it was a real. What the fuck? Like, what are you talking about? So Stacy King gong, obviously sending our condolences to his family, his friends and the Bulls organization.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, big time bummer there. Like you're saying, Skeets, there was no sort of like prelude to Stacy King passing away. Just happened out of nowhere. Still don't exactly know what happened, but the dude was a Bulls legend. He played on three championship teams. The first part of the dynasty, but definitely known more as a broadcast. Almost 20 years there on the broadcast, the definition of like a local color commentating legend to the point where you listen to a Bulls game, there will be games when Stacy King isn't on. You know, somebody else subbing in for him and you're still hearing his catchphrases. Somebody hits a three, you're like, oh, somebody needs the hot sauce, right? That kind of stuff. There's five Javantes out there. He did the nationwide jingle. If the Bulls win, drive home safely, Chicago. Beep beep. These are things that I hear watch games, not even from the Bulls. So it's going to be very strange to hear somebody else on the broadcast regularly next year.
Tas Melis
Just sad. Yeah, from the TV side, he understood the entertainment part. You know, he really went into that side of things and played that 1, 2 combo with Adam Amin now. And as you said, for a long time and from the Chicago side, he was loved. Speaking everybody or listening to everybody speak about him in the last 24 hours or so, heard Ozzy Guillen talking about him and how much he had poured into the community and how much he was just loved and how he was just a lovable person. And then on the, on the, during the broadcast, you just know. You just know. It's Stacy King's voice. He's, he. Not only had he become unanimous Anonymous with the game itself, but just the way he did it, that Persona he again, he had play by playman, do the, the steady thing. And he came in with the jokes,
Jay Skeets
the one liners, the phrases, the nicknames.
Trey Kirby
I want for everything.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, exactly. And he had an unfathomable, fathomable impact on just the fun of basketball. That's the number one thing I think of. This should be fun. At the end of the day, it is. And I think that came across on a lot of his broadcasts. And also you can speak to this better Trey as the Bulls fan, but I also thought he was a bit of a straight shooter when it came to the actual Bulls team itself. Like, he wasn't like one of these like homers. Like he would call out the team or hold them accountable. He'd have fun at the other team as expense as well. But I always appreciated that too, as someone that would dip in and out on the actual broadcast for the team because some of them are just like, the team can do no wrong. The player can do no wrong.
Tas Melis
He would.
Jay Skeets
He wasn't like that to me.
Trey Kirby
Not totally. I mean, if the Bulls would ever string together three wins in a row, he's definitely going to tell you that this is a different team, Chicago, this is a new Bulls team there. It's not like last year, called a lot of bad teams, but always made it fun. And like you're saying if the Bulls are doing something ridiculous, he was going to call him out for it. Whether it be Denzel Valentine pulling up from half court to try and win a game or booing Jerry Kraus widow, like he's going to say what's on his mind. There was the famous clip that's going around right now of a guy shows up. I think, I think it's a Sun's game and he's wearing like an, like a, like a bootleg Jordan jersey. Him and a mean go in for two straight minutes on this guy's jersey. No, I Think he did apologize, at least on Twitter, to this guy. He's like, it is cool that you showed up to the game. Yeah, he just got carried away, having fun, a funny guy.
Tas Melis
But he also said that during the clip, during the live clip, like, it's cool you're celebrating Jordan, but. Yeah, also making fun of it. But he would react instantly, too, when there was a bad moment that you're mentioning seats like Denzel Valentine throwing it up or anybody, he wouldn't just wait and try and, you know, find the nice words to say about it a little later on. It was instant, that second. And I love that. Yeah, you know, he was just real.
Jay Skeets
I never had the opportunity to meet him. But by all accounts, what you heard on the broadcast and on the game call is exactly like he was in real life. And that's what you want, I feel like, from people that are on television that do podcasts, like, are you yourself when the cameras and the mics are not on? You're authentic. Okay, that's cool. He also was the sixth pick in the 1989 draft. Trey already said it. I mean, helped. He did. He helped Jordan and the Bulls get those first three rings. Like, he was a young guy, obviously on a good team. Played his part, though, so, you know, he did have an NBA career and bounced around a little bit as it went on. But, yeah, definitely known more for the 1920 years on the Bulls broadcast. Really, really sad news that only at 59 years old, he's gone young.
Trey Kirby
And, I mean, you could say he's been a part of my entire Bulls life, being a part of the first Dynasty, championships, fell away from the team for a little bit. But then, like, as soon as his NBA career was over, back with the. Back with Chicago through all of their eras since, you know, the tanking era to the Derrick Rose era to the other tanking era to. I guess we're in the giddy era now. And he even has calls for, like, a Josh Giddy shot, you know, call in the half quarter against the Lakers. This is the kind of shot we're going to see when we're all. When we've all passed on. Kind of sad to hear now considering what's happened, but I don't know. I did like getting to see, like, the top 10 Stacey King calls of all time. And you get to the one where Derrick Rose is dunking on Goran Dragic classic moments. I wanna go higher. Did you not get the memo?
Jay Skeets
What is your favorite?
Trey Kirby
If you haven't that one. To me, I was like, that's the number one call for sure. And it even filters into like at the time auto tune the news was super popular. Remember? That was a great one. Did you not get the memo?
Jay Skeets
I wanna go higher
Trey Kirby
but I don't know, I wrote down like 10 different lines that I think of with Stacy King. So it'll be weird next year when whoever is doing the Jeff Vukovich Nationwide is on your side ad read. Are they going to sing it? You almost have to. In honor of Stacey.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, big shoes to Phil, whoever it is. Look, I mean at the end here, just the game of basketball is a little worse today without Stacy King going to be on the call. So again, our condolences to the Bulls organization and family and friends and yeah, that's a. That was a rough, rough news there over the weekend. Let's spin it into the NBA Finals Game 3 preview. We have basketball back tonight. All weekend without it after Friday night's entertaining game two. But a couple questions like we did leading into game two, but we do it for game three tasks. What has surprised you the most through the first two games of the NBA Finals?
Tas Melis
I would say that the Knicks out. Spurs. The spurs. The thing that we know traditionally about this team, they're going to outpass teams now at the same time, this is a different era, the spurs and this is a different era of the Knicks where we saw what they became after going down 2:1 to the Atlanta Hawks in round one with Carl Anthony Towns at the top. They became a more passy team, but with Victor Wa Minyama on the floor. Just didn't know if that was going to be a thing, being able to move it all that much. But they have played the passing game way better than the Spurs. We saw, you know, when it broke the spurs back in game two when the Knicks were down seven late in the second quarter and they had that play where they passed it five times in the last nine seconds of the shot clock and Mikhail Bridges hit it in the corner. Splash. So now they're down four and that really was the turning point. They're up four at half and they made it a 14 point lead in the third quarter. And so that is different. They had 50 more passes than the San Antonio spurs in game two. It was only 22 in game one that they had more than the spurs because everybody was playing poorly. But now it just feels like if they continue to do that, if it has a little bit of the beautiful game spurs of 2014, then this thing might be over. And that's what we're looking at in game number three here. Then they go and get more offensive rebounds like this might be it. Right? We might be close. We might be very, very close. If this third game three starts like that, it's, it might be over. So yes, that's, that's the thing that's jumped out like the spurs couldn't recover in game two. They picked it up obviously in the fourth quarter, but it was too late. And so they're out Spursing the Spurs to some degree here.
Jay Skeets
What about you?
Trey Kirby
I think the most surprising thing is how much the Knicks defense is dominating this series. The Knicks defense has been the single best unit of, you know, offense and defense for both teams. They're only allowing 101 points per 100 possessions so far in these two games at the finals. That would be the best for any team in the playoffs. That would be the best for any team in the regular season. That's the lowest offensive rating a team has in any series this postseason. I went back and looked last year. We're talking about that Thunder defense. Greatest defense of all time. Some were saying this would be lower than any of the postseason series last year except for OKC versus Memphis in the first round. So I'm like, okay, is this the greatest defense we've ever seen in the Finals? Let's go check the 99 finals spurs versus Knicks. Neither team over 100 points per 100 possessions as neither team got to 100. So it's not quite 90s level defense. But I think the extent to which the New York defense has been the best defense in this series is pretty surprising to me considering Brunson and Cat still playing massive minutes. The knicks are shooting 41% in the finals. They're shooting 31 from three. Jalen Brunson himself is 34 and 24. They've been out rebounded so far by the Spurs. Turnovers about even. Three point shooting about even. And the Knicks are up two zero. And it's because they're shutting down the spurs on the defensive end. Only 105 points in each of the first two games for new York. That's the fewest they've scored in postseason games so far. They're winning with defense.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Schumann noted that the least or the two least efficient series for any team here in the playoffs so far were the Cavs in the conference finals and then now the spurs in the NBA finals. So that obviously has a nice little button point there to your button point. Is that a saying?
Tas Melis
Just a button.
Jay Skeets
Just a button.
Trey Kirby
Or a bullet Point.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Or bullet point. That's what I was going for. That. The Knicks defense is that elite. Because I think just succinctly, in game one, the spurs problem, it felt like, was just shot making. They were getting looks. They just couldn't knock them down. Game two, though, they struggled to generate really good looks consistently because of the defense. So locked in. But I'll go with the biggest surprise. It is probably Cat outplaying Victor Weminyama through two games so far. Offensively, Cat's been awesome. He's played his part. He's averaging 19 and a half points, 12 and a half rebounds, four assists on incredible efficiency. 55 from the floor, 43 from deep. He hasn't missed a free throw. He leads all players in the series in plus minus. So that's great. It's the defense. It's Cat's defense so far that has us a little bit shook. Right. Cause this is supposed to be their Achilles heel. Like, oh, yeah, Cats defense, Brunson's defense. You're probably not gonna be able to win a title that way. He's held up when he's been on Wemby, he's helped keep him in check, and he's forced as many turnovers as baskets when he's been on Wemby. So that is a huge, huge win. And then the best part is Kat is not committing dumb, stupid fouls. He only has four shooting fouls against Wemby through these two games in a lot of. A lot of matchups. So I don't think we saw that coming in this series that Kat would be outplaying him so far. And he has on both ends.
Tas Melis
No. Yeah. Yeah. I'm guilty. Ready to anoint Victor Wembanyama as the guy. And he definitely has been playing shook. And Carlton Towns has done the shaking. I mean, it has been. It's been. It's been him going right at Victor Wembanyama and doing well defensively and staying on the floor for most of the time. He went to the bench in that third quarter of game two. And that's when the game turned towards the Spurs. The Knicks were doing an incredible job playing the defense on the perimeter, turning the ball over. And those ugly. Two turnover or two fouls, I should say that I was scared was going to turn the game around for the Spurs. And just because I didn't want that to be the narrative, those dumb foul. Both fouls should not have been called. And he goes to the bench. But the Knicks bench was able to maintain what they were doing. That was really, really impressive right there. So Game three, man, here it is.
Jay Skeets

What are some adjustments we could see maybe from the spurs and Mitch Johnson here tonight?
Trey Kirby
I think they need to go at Brunson and they need to go at Towns more. Get those guys. In Brunson's case, I would. I would love to see Dylan Harper get the start. I don't know if it's going to happen, but he's a guy who's big enough and physical that he can defend Brunson. I think he's probably their best Brunson defender so far. Castle. Castle's right there, too, but he just plays a little bit more risky to me. And I actually think that the way Harper attacks Brunson could be a way to wear him down for fourth quarters. But they definitely need to get Towns into foul trouble. And that means we're talking full Wemby, full game. He was awesome in. In the second half of this game in game two, when the spurs backs were against the wall, went for 22 points on 17 shots. He was a plus six. He was just much more aggressive. And the spurs did a better job of getting him the ball at the elbows, getting him the ball with a little bit of space to work in the post. So they're going to need him to roll. They're going to need him to cut when he rolls. He's got to seal the defender to maybe give his guard a chance. We got to give him the ball, the elbow at if at all possible. Anything to get Towns in foul trouble because it's still lurking in there. Right. Like Towns isn't going to play a perfect seven game series. He might play a perfect four games, though. It's on the spurs and it's on Wemby to take it to Towns and at least make him have to defend every single time. Because I think that that's an area where the spurs need to see their advantage. They need their best player to be the best player on the court. There have been moments when Wemby looks like the best guy out there, but for the entirety of the series, he hasn't been.
Tas Melis
Yeah, they definitely have to play through Wemby in an unconventional way. Going to him in the elbow isn't the real way of playing Wemby from the elbow down. That's what you have to start to do. The first play that they did, that was midway through the fourth quarter of game two. That's the first time they gave it to him to say go at Cat. They have to. And they have to get him into foul trouble because Cat has better endurance. This series, if you're gonna try and just play the. We'll kind of go through Wemby, but everybody else will sort of lead the way. And then Wemby will just catch the ball at the free throw line, one step or one dribble dunk, then you're not really playing into that advantage. And again, Cat has just had more stamina. He just looks better. Whether it's, you know, having to go through the OKC series and feeling like that's their championship or just going through this long a season for Victor Weyama's first time in his career. Whatever it is, if Kat's going to stay on the floor, they're gonna win. It sure feels that way. And. And so it's simple as that. That last six minutes of the fourth quarter, it didn't look like the traditional spurs, like, just go to that guy and go at him with any sort of moves. Wemby got his first alley oop with 2 1/2 minutes left in the game. Now, it's because he missed some other ones earlier on in the game, but that is something they can't do for four quarters. It's. It's. It's too taxing on him. But I wonder if you just do that at the beginning of the game to try and beat New York and their crowd. Because as I said, like, the game in game two kind of turned in the second quarter. And if you just allow that, you might let go of the rope and it might be over. If you. If you allow that in the first quarter or the second quarter on the road down two games, it might be it. So go get him. In fellow trouble, play a little bit different. Play elbow down with Wemby and see what you can do with it. Because with Wemb, with Cat off the floor again, that's what they. How they turned in the third quarter when he went to the bench. That's when Wemby started scoring against Mitchie Mitch. It was very different.
Jay Skeets
Everybody wants to see Wemby play with aggression from the jump here tonight. We saw it. We've seen it for minutes, but usually it feels at times a little too late. And like, where is it? Right from the get go, they.
Trey Kirby
He needs.
Jay Skeets
And the Spurs, I guess, need New York to feel them, to react to them right away, especially maybe trying to shock the crowd, take the note of it and then obviously get into the flow of the game. But that, and yeah, the Dylan Harper. I mean, I feel like a lot of people are saying that. It's like he has been one of the best players for the Spurs. Mitch. He's young, super obviously inexperienced. But what you're seeing, I mean, the eye test says he's one of the best players out there. Maybe you got to go, whatever. Maybe you got to start flirting with 37, 38, 39 minutes from him. Like his numbers did bump up his minutes. Excuse me, bumped up from games one to game two. So that's good. Why not more? Because he's been so good and you're just not getting anything else from the, from any other of the bench guys, be it Kelvin Johnson or Carter Bryant or.
Trey Kirby
So you're saying he should stay on the bench?
Jay Skeets
Well, you mean, you said stardom. I, I don't, I don't really sure. I just want to see him play 40 minutes, basically, whether he's starting and coming off the bench, I think he has to be out there because of at least what he's giving you. And like think about the play where he put OG in the basket. I mean, he's playing with aggression. What I'm talking about here. He's one of the guys that is doing that. He's got to. Whether it's off the, you know, off the pine again or if he starts. They just have to come with that force. Yeah, but look, they're, they're, they're behind the eight ball here. This is going to be extremely difficult.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Because the Knicks are awesome and, and yeah. And they really believe they're going to the better team.
Tas Melis
And whatever guards we're talking about, I think they play to the power of Victor Wenyama. Really. I mean they, they will step up and the trickle down effect happens. When Wemby plays with an aggressive state of mind to start this game, I think he just has to turn around the series. It's a lot to ask, but I think that's how you start it. And you don't, you don't put yourself behind the eight ball in New York. Down two, zip.
Jay Skeets
Down two, zip. But they had leads in like the final couple minutes of games were there to win.
Trey Kirby
I also don't, I don't know what this is. I don't know if it's actually an adjustment, but this is the Knicks first finals game in 27 years at home. They're on a 13 game win streak. This is a must win game three for San Antonio and the most despised politician on earth will be in attendance. Like the first quarter emotions are going to be insane tonight.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
So I don't know who, like, does that favor New York? They're rolling right now. They're playing great. But you know, things are going to be different. We're, we're being told there's a two hour wait time to get in. They got no watch parties outside. Things will be different in New York than they have been for any game so far. But also the spurs are playing with their backs up against the wall. They cannot lose. But also maybe that's freeing a little bit. So I don't know who needs to manage their emotions more. It's going to be insane for the first six minutes.
Jay Skeets
Oh, yeah, it is. It is. I mean, all of that stuff are fun narratives for us. I feel like the Knicks players themselves are like blinders on and like headphones on and are like every interview you see with these guys, it's like it's zero, zero. It's like, you know, it's like you're treating every game like it's a start of the series as you should. Like not. We're up to not. We've already won this thing. They're saying all the right things. They just feel so, like, committed to like this game matters more than any other game we've played so far despite winning 13 in a row. Am I wrong?
Tas Melis
No.
Jay Skeets
It's the takeaway I have from them.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Yeah. Off the floor. Mikel Bridges has been clear. I was on the Phoenix suns. We were up 20 and we gave up that series in 2021. On the floor. Yeah, for us. You're right. For us. We want to talk about it feels like fans are going to an airport where they have to arrive two hours before the game to get in. That is strange. And maybe Madison Square Garden's decibel level will be taken down by 5 DBs because they're not there at, at the, at the opening tip. Maybe. But it doesn't feel like that's going to be the, the game on the floor. Game on the floor is all wemby to me to steal this thing. It feels, it doesn't feel like. I shouldn't say. It feels like the Knicks own this series. The Knicks own the series right now. You got to go steal it. You, you have to go take it. And that's why I think it's, it's unconventional. Definitely through these two games, but even throughout this season to just go to Wemby in the elbow and go to him, it hasn't happened. But yeah, I think you have to set a tone a little bit here. Just try and make this about spurs basketball. And we ain't effing up this time. And so I think they should start it with a little aggression and try and turn down those DBs with their play.
Jay Skeets
It's going to be hype here tonight. Who is the NBA Finals MVP favorite through two games? In fact, let me show you who FanDuel says it is right now, and I want you to tell me if you agree or disagree with who they have at the top of the list. Jalen Brunson is the favorite plus 115 on Fantuel, Cat plus 165. And then Wemby there spite spurs obviously trailing two games two zero here at plus 380. And then Bridges, OG dear and Fox, the long shots. But yeah, TK we talked a little bit about this after game two. Surprised to see Brunson as the betting favorite. Would you. Would you go with Cat?
Trey Kirby
Look, I would pick Cat for sure, but am I surprised to see Brunson as the favorite? No. Carl Anthony Towns hasn't scored in the fourth quarter yet. 0 points on 0 of 2 shots in the fourth quarter. Meanwhile, Brunson in these fourth quarters has 20 points on 10 of 18 field goal shooting. He does have the technical game winner in both of these as well. So I think they're both worthy of getting votes. I think what Towns has done defensively against Wemby probably puts him over the top in my book. But this definitely feels like one where we could have CO Finals MVPs. You get four votes for Cat, four votes for Brunson, and then somebody goes off script and tosses one to OG something, right?
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
And a 4. 4. One would feel pretty fair to me because it's like Towns is the guy for three quarters and then Brunson is the guy in the fourth quarter.
Jay Skeets
Are there Survivor rules? If that happens, they should. Then whoever got that one lone vote, they should ask that player.
Trey Kirby
Yes.
Jay Skeets
Be it OG Bridges. Maybe there's a crazy Wemby vote in a loss. Hey, who do you think should get it between Brunson and Cat? You get to decide those Survivor rules.
Tas Melis
Oh, I didn't know. Yeah, I didn't know what those are. Survival rules.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's how our guy Wendell won. He had a tie with Dom and then Michaela. Was that her name? I think it Was.
Trey Kirby
Anyway, Michaela chose Wendell.
Jay Skeets
Chose Wendell. She decided.
Tas Melis
Okay, well, I wanted to knock on the wood here because Wendell built this table. Knock on the wood for someone. Anyway, it doesn't matter if Carl Anthony Towns wins this thing. I think. I think it's more likely that he wins it. If it's a shorter series, I think that favors him. It's kind of reminds me of 2020. Anthony Davis was the favorite through two games versus the Miami Heat, and the Lakers ended up winning in six, and that gave it to LeBron, you know, so I think that feels that way. A sweeper could be Towns.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
These odds have changed greatly. Right. I tried to go back on. Well, they've changed since the beginning of the series, but they've changed since. For. Was it Saturday? Changed since Saturday. When. After the day after they won game two and went up 2.0G. Towns was third, if I'm not mistaken. I was trying to go back and look at when I said it on Saturday's show. I just randomly went there because I think you asked during the. During the show, and I went. And pretty sure Towns was third, but because I guess so much money is going on Cat that vaults him into second, and rightfully so.
Jay Skeets
He's been the most consistent, like, source of quality offense, I guess. And then the job he's done on Wemby, as I talked about, so that makes sense. But yeah, Brunson's been the. He's been captain clutch down the stretch.
Tas Melis
Yeah, we didn't talk about how he evolves from Game 2 to Game 3. Brunson was doubled a lot in Game 2. He wasn't in Game 1, and in Game 2, that caused him to shoot poor and not get into as much of a flow. It took him a while to get into flow in round in game one, and then in game two, they got the ball out of his hands a lot, showing him more bodies. So how does he evolve into game three? I mean, the spurs may play it a little differently, but I think Brunson would be more comfortable with that. So that's the scary thing for the San Antonio Spurs. Brunson can play better, the Knicks can play better. Offensively, they haven't been absolutely incredible offensively at all.
Jay Skeets
That's why I still think Jalen Brunson's gonna win Finals MVP if the Knicks go, of course, on to win the series. Because, man, I just feels like there's still a monster Brunson game coming. One of those games where nothing that he throws up doesn't go in. Could Be tonight could be obviously game four. And if I feels like. If what if, like Brunson has one massive, massive game here in, in a sweep or in five with the clutch play, you know, it could like obviously tilt towards him, but it's those two guys. The funniest outcome would be tonight, like an OG or Mikhail Bridges, like 35 point game or something. And then suddenly it's like, well, do we have three guys now? We got to try and decide if they're up 3 0. So that'd be hilarious because OG's been good. Bridge has been good.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, they would have to get like a half of a finals MVP for how well he played. Could not miss.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, exactly.
Trey Kirby
That was important.
Jay Skeets
All right, well then final question here is who wins tonight? Take a guess. Spurs are Knicks. Game 3.
Tas Melis
I picked the spurs in five to start this series. Doesn't look like that's gonna happen. So I'm taking the Knicks. I'm taking the Knicks because they have proved me wrong through the first two games. This is their series. This is their series.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I don't want this series to be over this quickly. I don't either favor the spurs or the Knicks tonight, but I'll take the Spurs. I just want them to win.
Jay Skeets
I mean, yeah, we want more basketball. We want more storylines like I want. I sort of want. Is Wemby the chosen one? Well, it would be an awesome game in Madison Square Garden, of all places. Their first finals game in forever with the President in attendance for Wemby to have an insane finals performance to carry them to a victory here and suddenly make Wednesday's game like everything. It would feel like the spurs win tonight. That that game four suddenly gets. Oh, boy. Oh, boy for Knicks fans for sure. So, yeah, I'm sort of rooting obviously for another close game, but yeah, we want more basketball. I'll give you some stats, though. Teams that win the first two games of the finals have won the chip 86 and a half percent of the time. Teams that win the first two games on the road, they're unbeaten two and oh, doesn't happen a lot in the finals and finals. Teams that take a three one series lead have a 97.4 success rate in winning at all. 37 and 1. And everybody knows the one. So huge, huge game here.
Tas Melis
You know what I just checked on my computer was when UFC 250 will be on the White House lawn.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
Why Sunday? Well, because. Because I wanted to see which. If who Trump would want to win. If would he want it to Be a sweep and over. So there's no game on Saturday when the UFC event is on the White House, but it's not the white of the UFC events on Sunday. Surprisingly, that's a Saturday thing, isn't it? Isn't a UFC event Saturdays. Yeah. So just surprising.
Jay Skeets
Oh, the World Cup's on because.
Tas Melis
Because Game 5 of the NBA Finals is on Saturday. So I thought maybe. Maybe he just. Does he. He would be cheering for the Knicks, I guess. He is cheering for the Knicks. Yeah. The World cup schedule also. Is it always. It's always just one game at a time. They never overlap, right? Ever.
Jay Skeets
I mean, I don't know that for sure, but there's 48 teams this year now, too.
Tas Melis
I don't think so, though. I think they.
Jay Skeets
So we just have basketball. Excuse me. Soccer on all day, football on all day long.
Tas Melis
Yeah, but there's not that many games each day. It's going to take a while to get through everything.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
I think it's just two per one.
Trey Kirby
Group stage, huh?
Jay Skeets
Very long.
Trey Kirby
Nice.
Jay Skeets
There's a lot of groups and a lot of teams. All right, well, let's hear from everybody out there. What happens tonight? Call your shot. Spurs or Knicks? Are we setting up for a sweep later this week? Do things get interesting? Is there a monster Wemby game? Who's an unsung hero tonight? You know, there's a million ways to go about this. Does Donald Trump ruin everything tonight by showing up and people struggling to get in? People getting turned away with bags and snow? Watch parties outside of the squirt garden? What happened? Anything could happen here tonight. It could be insane. All right, let's take a break. When we come back, beach stepping USA
Trey Kirby
fans, this one's for you.
Jay Skeets
Nice.
Trey Kirby
FanDuel is dropping a massive USA super boost for the matchup on Friday against Paraguay. Right now, all customers can win up to $25 if the USA has one or more shots.
Tas Melis
Excuse me?
Trey Kirby
One or more shots? Yeah. Not a typo. Just one shot gets it done.
Jay Skeets
Wow.
Trey Kirby
Like a vaccine shot on goal. Just one simple shot.
Tas Melis
Oh, that's nice. One shot for a vaccine is awesome. Remember those times you had to have multiple shots?
Trey Kirby
Forces. Yes.
Tas Melis
Yes, indeed.
Trey Kirby
Yes, yes, indeed. This is one of FanDuel's biggest boosts yet. All you need is one moment from the USA to cash in. So in the finals rotation, we're talking Knicks versus Spurs. We're talking about eight to nine guys playing each team. Which Nick or Spur do you think is most likely to play a full game? Zero shots. Not A single attempt, a full game.
Tas Melis
So it doesn't matter how many minutes.
Trey Kirby
Right. I mean, we're not talking biombo levels here. We're not talking about Com. Daddier, but guys that you're seeing every night, that's. Yeah, it's interesting.
Jay Skeets
That's tough.
Trey Kirby
That's tough.
Tas Melis
I guess. Mitchell Robinson.
Jay Skeets
I was gonna say Mitchell Robinson, but like, there's probably a. A putback or. Or an oop.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
But then I'm going through everybody else and I'm like, yeah, Carter, Bryant. Yeah, you know, I don't know. Kelton Johnson, of course he'll get a shot. Alvarado, I mean, I go through everybody, I guess.
Tas Melis
Harrison Barnes, if we were talking both teams, he looked. He.
Trey Kirby
He looks the most gun shy to me of everybody.
Tas Melis
It feels like game one, he didn't have a shot. If I'm not mistaken.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
It was definitely passing up looks in game one.
Jay Skeets
I was almost not even counting him as part of the rotation.
Tas Melis
He did have shots. Luke Cornett had zero shots.
Trey Kirby
He's the same as Robinson. Exactly.
Jay Skeets
There'll be a Newport one up.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I'm staying locked in for that. That's actually not a bet offered by fanduel.
Jay Skeets
That was just.
Trey Kirby
That one's.
Jay Skeets
That's a Kirby.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I'll just keep track of it. Make alliance back the usa. Get in on this huge super boost before kickoff. It's on Friday. You got time. Visit fanduel.com no dunks to get started now. Only on FanDuel.
Jay Skeets
Only on fandom.
Tas Melis
Yeah, I went to the World cup schedule just to confirm what I said was true. With that there's never two games overlapping. And that's. That seems to be true, especially the first couple days. They want everybody watching. They just have two games Thursday and Friday, and they start to pick it up. Three on Saturday.
Jay Skeets
First games in Mexico. Is that right?
Tas Melis
Technically on Sunday, I want to say.
Jay Skeets
That's right. First game.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Mexico playing at home against South Africa.
Jay Skeets
There you go. There you go. All right, well, let's hit the beach, answer some of your questions. You got the buzz, I got the rockets. You got the nuts, I got the chocolates. We got that chitchat down pack, blah, blah, blah. You got that certain special Genesis. Let's go. We're on the beach reading your emails and your tw tweets. They're usually emails. First one. Hey, no dunks crew. I've got two new nicknames for two players in these finals. Would love to get your thoughts. Firstly, I cannot watch Jalen Brunson play basketball without thinking that he looks like a bowling ball. He's a relatively small and stocky dude with, let's be honest here, pretty big round head. Who wrote this? Josh Hart. Also, the way he plays, it's like he's a curled up ball crashing into the defense. So I propose the bowling ball. And if you want to get crazy, then Big body bowling ball Brunson. Secondly, a simple one. When Wemby is locked in and intense, we should just call him Victor Solomon. That's one of the worst suggestions we've ever got turn up. That's from Steven in Calgary.
Tas Melis
That's harsh. That's harsh.
Jay Skeets
That's horrible.
Tas Melis
Victor Solom, man. Yeah, I. Say it like that.
Jay Skeets
Okay, say it. Okay. Still sucks.
Tas Melis
I know, I know.
Trey Kirby
Because Victor Solomon.
Tas Melis
Because you associate it with Victor Solomon. Of course, that's why. Okay.
Jay Skeets
Of.
Tas Melis
Yeah, but not everybody does that. I mean, like, I'd say 0.0004% of the population knows who Victor Solomon is. So if you call Victor solemn man.
Jay Skeets
What does that have to do with Wembanyama?
Tas Melis
He's a solemn guy. As in he's like Solomon. Yeah. He's meditating. He's within himself. No one's ever gonna call him.
Jay Skeets
I should have edited that out. Why did we include that part? Bowling ball. We got something here. Probably not as well, but, you know, a little better than Victor Solemn man. I have a problem with it.
Tas Melis
He's within himself. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
He's so locked in and intense.
Trey Kirby
I don't know.
Jay Skeets
I guess when I think intense, I don't think solemn.
Tas Melis
Yeah, it's not gonna. It's not working, man. Maybe work for his summer when he's with the monks and like he's, you
Trey Kirby
know, he's being a solid man.
Tas Melis
He's training Victor Solace, man.
Trey Kirby
He's always trying to find peace.
Tas Melis
Okay, sure. Yeah. Listen, I.
Jay Skeets
What do you think of bowling ball for Brunson?
Tas Melis
Oh, hold on. Victor Solomon deserves some credit for the trophies. The social justice champion one was pretty good.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
It's Kareem's.
Jay Skeets
Take your word.
Tas Melis
I. I was. I was youtubing Victor Solomon's trophies. It's Kareem's hands around a ball and they're taking snapshots of Kareem doing it so they could.
Trey Kirby
This one is good.
Jay Skeets
You can't deny it's different.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, it looks nice.
Jay Skeets
Are we sure Victor did it?
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Skeets
Are we sure?
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah. It's Victor Solomon. Man's Instagram.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Okay.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
Anyway. Bowling ball player it's as. As far as the player goes. Yeah, it's a good nickname. He kind of looks like a bowling ball, but as far as he plays, he's not a bowler. You know, he's not like a. I'm just bowling 10 pins down, you know, Like, I'm not. I'm not crushing you. I'm not running into you, you know, he doesn't play like that. He's. He's got more footwork, so I think it's a little. It's a. It's a little too harsh. You know, it's kind of. There's no justice.
Jay Skeets
It's like Brunson Burners right there too. I mean, it does work for him. Like, he catches fire. Takes us back to the old high school days.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, I think he's just a Brunson, you know, It's a good name. He's not a nickname guy to me.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, maybe. Maybe that's true too.
Tas Melis
Yeah. A lot of the times when we talk about these nicknames, we're reaching for something, and when it's a good player, we all just say, no, Luca is good enough. Like, he doesn't need to be the don. You know, like, that kind of thing. And I think Brunson is good enough.
Jay Skeets
Does he look like his nickname? Really? That's become his nickname, and I don't mind that for him for what he does for them as the captain of that team.
Tas Melis
That's good. Yeah, he does look like a bowling ball.
Jay Skeets
I should.
Tas Melis
Like, that's good. The part's good. I get it.
Trey Kirby
But he is bowling ball shaped.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
He's like that kid from Hook that they would make into a bowling ball and, like, roll him down a ramp. Yeah, he is similar to that.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
All right, Here's a game for you. It's called Two Nicknames and a Lie.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
I got three players. I will read you nicknames for all of them. Two of them are nicknames from basketball reference. Like, they're in the basketball reference given database. You know, it's extended. Yeah, it's very extended. And then one of them. I just made it up this morning.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
Jaylen Brunson, the King of New York. Stefan Castle, King of the Castle. And Tyler Kick, King Colic.
Tas Melis
Wow.
Trey Kirby
Which one made.
Tas Melis
Came with a hard one?
Jay Skeets
I think it's Castle. Have you heard that?
Tas Melis
King of the Castle. It just feels so right. Like, it would be that, but I. I feel like that's good play. That's a good. That's a good way of thinking.
Jay Skeets
Colic is Weird. It's weird, but I feel like that's. I feel like that one's there.
Tas Melis
King of New York.
Jay Skeets
I want to go castle.
Tas Melis
King of the Castle. King color. So King of New York just feels like it's right.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. Also I think that's there on Brunson.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
So let's go Castle.
Tas Melis
Oh, sorry.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
I don't know. Go ahead.
Trey Kirby
King of the Castle is real.
Jay Skeets
Oh, man.
Trey Kirby
The only nicknames the fine castle has on basketball reference is King of the Castle.
Tas Melis
King Colic isn't real.
Trey Kirby
King Colic is made up.
Jay Skeets
Oh, man. Well, it sounds better than King of the Cast.
Trey Kirby
I thought it sounded kind of good. Leftover from his Marquette days. He was a great player.
Jay Skeets
Who knows?
Trey Kirby
All right, here's another one. Three Knicks backup big men or three Knicks bench players. Sorry. Ariel Huckporty hucking and chucking. Mitchell Robinson, the block Ness monster and Landry Shammit. One a day.
Tas Melis
Hucking and chuckin. Sounds like something Walt Clyde Frazier would say, but it's also a little bit of a pejorative. Hucking and chucking.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
It doesn't sound kind block.
Jay Skeets
Ness Monster for Mitch Robinson. I. I feel like I've seen it there.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Because I was just on Mitchell Robinson's page when I was looking up all those free throw shooting numbers. I think I saw it there at least, man, I know that's used on somebody. I just don't know if it's Mitchell Robinson.
Tas Melis
But let's say it sounds right.
Jay Skeets
Let's say that one. And then what was the last one again?
Trey Kirby
Landry Sham at one a day.
Jay Skeets
One a day.
Tas Melis
I think it's hucking and chucking is. Is the lie.
Jay Skeets
Okay, what's the one a day on Landry Shammon? What's the reasoning? He takes his vitamins.
Tas Melis
Yeah, I guess so.
Jay Skeets
Sure. Okay. Okay. I'm with you though. Porty does. That's a crazy nickname.
Tas Melis
That sounds mean.
Trey Kirby
Pucking and chucking is made up.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Trey Kirby
Came up with that one this morning. It did sound like a Clyde Fraser. You're maybe a little bit too much needle.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
On Ariel, our final one. Three spurs back up big men. Luke Cornett, Corn on the Lob. Mason Plumlee, the Plunger and Kelly Olenek, Lunch Lady.
Jay Skeets
Okay, that one. That one's Lunch Lady. He is.
Trey Kirby
Corn on the lob. The plunger and lunch Lady.
Tas Melis
Okay,
Commercial Announcer
Lou.
Tas Melis
Cornet sounds. That's fitting. I mean, corn on the lob.
Trey Kirby
Corn on the lob.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
Plunger for Plumly.
Jay Skeets
I don't remember that one. I haven't heard that one.
Tas Melis
He's not really a shot blocker. Or is the plunging part of the dunking?
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I don't know. Or maybe just takes big dumps. I think that one's the fake one because. Yeah, the. The cornet one. There's like. I feel like there's a tie to like. I saw some clip going around about. Is it lotte? Yes, yes. The Mexican like corn. I feel like there's some tie there. So corn, cornet.
Tas Melis
Oh, that's got San Antonio. So it's recently put on there. Something.
Jay Skeets
Something. So I'll go plunger. I'm with tasks. I don't think that's a real one.
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah, I'll go with plunger.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, the plunger is fake.
Tas Melis
Nice.
Trey Kirby
You did it.
Tas Melis
Nice, nice.
Trey Kirby
Well done.
Jay Skeets
Okay, well, the other ones are real.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. Corn on the hob. I don't know if it's a lot they related, but yeah, a lot is delicious. And of course, Kelly Olenek wears the headband.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
A lunch lady of your.
Jay Skeets
We've talked about that one. I think that's come up before on no dunk. Just once upon a time.
Tas Melis
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
I came up with the plunger because to me it was like plumbing related. Like maybe you could think Mason Plumlee is the plumber. I also considered crack kills as a nickname for him or the butt crack. You know, just trying to reference plumbing.
Jay Skeets
Sure.
Trey Kirby
But plunger is what I went with. I thought it was crack kills. That's a good thing you can think of with a plumber. Clogs and butt cracks. Yeah, and leaks, I guess.
Jay Skeets

Are you really buying a car online on Auto Trader right now? Really? I can get super specific with dealer
Trey Kirby
listings and see cars based on my budget.
Jay Skeets
You can really have it delivered or pick it up. I think kid is walking up the stairs. Slide.
Trey Kirby
Really Auto Trader?
Tas Melis
Buy your car online?
Jay Skeets
Really? Speaking of plumbing, I'll go to our next one here. What up dinkers and dumpers? I think we can all agree that we come for the basketball and stay for the narratives. So my question is, what's the best or most interesting narrative that could arise from these finals? Personally, I would like to see the spurs defeated in a close series. That way. Monsieur Vicki Wimbledon, There's a new nickname Alert has a much more interesting character arc. Okay, so Wemby was having a much more interesting character arc. He quickly rose to glory, fell short in his first attempt, and now the rest of the league has to fear an angry Wemby who's out for blood. Love you guys. Been a loyal listener for about 15 years. That's from Joshua in California. So yeah, I think. I think we talked about this heading into the series. I brought up a tweet I had seen about. Maybe it's better if Wemby and the spurs lose this first one here because yeah, the side quest this guy would go on Trying to obviously get over the final hump there and. And obviously committing to winning a title still. So it's just the same thinking here from Joshua. But what else?
Tas Melis
If the Knicks lose four straight here or. Sorry, if the Knicks. Yeah, yeah, let's go that side. If the Knicks lose four straight, the spurs go and take four. They gotta trade for Giannis. They got to. Are they gonna trade Cat for Giannis? No, they got to keep their man, Cat, but they trade Mikhail Bridges and all the picks they trade for him. Can they figure it out? And so there's the narrative, there's the storyline. Will that happen? No, but that will be a lot of the headlines out there. Gotta trade for Giannis. Gotta trade for him. Gotta trade for him. You know, it's. It's definitely.
Jay Skeets
Warriors would have to lose the next four here in an embarrassing fashion.
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah.
Jay Skeets
Suddenly look horrible. All right.
Tas Melis
You know, a Giannis, I guess it's possible. Not that I want to hear more about Giannis being traded, but I guess it is possible. It's not.
Jay Skeets
What percentage put it at? Not only what percentage would you put the Knicks losing four straight right now with the way they're playing, but then, yeah, Giannis coming despite a team being two wins away from the NBA championship.
Tas Melis
So with Durant, you know, a little
Jay Skeets
different, but yeah, yeah, you're right.
Tas Melis
Yeah, they were one. They were one win away.
Jay Skeets
Well, that's what I mean more than anything. But okay, narrative, the honest narrative. What about you?
Trey Kirby
I mean, the craziest narrative would be if the Knicks win tonight and then the spurs pull off the first three, I'll come back in. In playoff history.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
Let alone finals history. Let it go against a Knicks team that is one win from winning the championship and looking like a sweep. That would be crazy. Also, the series completely flipping after Trump makes his first appearance would be a pretty crazy way for things to go. But also just Jalen Brunson, what a story for this guy. Second round pick, they offered him a small contract in Dallas and. And the Knicks, or the Brunson family basically is like, no, we're going to take our chances in free agency. Becomes the best free agent signing in Knicks history. So going from the second round pick to team botches his free agency to Nick's legend would be a pretty big story, I think.
Tas Melis
Yeah. The clips going around of Brunson being asked, I guess it was after game two, Right. The. The comp or the evaluation of you coming out of the draft that you're this, this, and this and this. What was the most wrong about that. Everything. A good response. Yeah. Good response from John Brunson. Yeah, it's a good one.
Jay Skeets
Just to go back to the idea of maybe Wemby and Spurs losing this Finals, maybe getting swept. True. Obviously. Which is in play. It would just be wild that we would have. Like Wemby, in theory, could be added to a list of superstar players, hall of Fame players that made it to the first finals fairly early and then got swept. Shaq, first finals in 95. Swept. Jason Kidd. I mean, let's throw him in there. First finals swept 2002. And then LeBron James, everybody brings up swept in his first Finals. Wemby could be added to that. Fantastic list. But let me give you a fun subplot here, too. The Knicks, Mikhail Bridges, Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart are trying to become just the fifth set of teammates to win an NCAA title together. Like they did at Villanova and then an NBA championship on the same squad with the Knicks. And they would be the first, from what I can tell, first trio to do it. There's a lot of pairs. The last pair to do it is a very funny pair. I don't know if you can guess it. I'll give you. I'll go ahead.
Trey Kirby
NCAA title and NBA title.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, it's very, very difficult. What year or what era? Well, I guess the mid-2000s, like, guesses. When this is. I think I'll give you the team. I'll give you the squads. Kentucky and Miami.
Trey Kirby
Heat. Antoine Walker and somebody. Derek.
Jay Skeets
Derek Anderson.
Trey Kirby
Derek Anderson.
Tas Melis
Okay, great.
Jay Skeets
And then it's a lot more like way back in the day, like, Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the leader, Havlicek as the leader. And then Bill Russell and Casey Jones. Those are the two best, probably combo. But anyway, yeah, Nick's. He has pretty cool storyline. These guys are champions in Villanova and, like, they all find their way to the same team in New York. And they do it and bring a title like. That's pretty awesome. So that's another subplot there. Final one.
Tas Melis
They probably do a funny commercial with Dante Tivincenzo being.
Jay Skeets
Oh, too soon.
Tas Melis
Because they did. Because they had the funny commercial of him being traded.
Jay Skeets
Right?
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Do it again.
Jay Skeets
Do it again.
Trey Kirby
That's. The guy's gotta be sad.
Tas Melis
Yeah, I would.
Trey Kirby
Recovering from a torn Achilles as well.
Tas Melis
This is true.
Jay Skeets
That's tough. Final one. What's up, Earthlings? The Knicks are facing the alien in the Finals. In movies. New Yorkers have been fighting aliens for decades. What Are your favorite New York vs Aliens movies, and what are the best comparisons for the two teams in the finals? My Knicks Men in Black cast would be. Jalen Brunson is Agent King. Quiet, not the biggest guy, but the smartest person in the room. Josh Hart would be Agent J. Constant, energy, vocal, somehow involved in every play. And Mikhail Bridges would be Frank the Pug, just always there. We turn up in peace. Neuralize. Awesome. That's from Martin. All the way from Berlin, Germany. But, yeah, bringing up this idea of New York versus the aliens, which we are. We do have here.
Trey Kirby
We do have here.
Jay Skeets
Do you have any other favorite New York vs. Alien movies or comps?
Trey Kirby
Independence Day, for sure. For me. We see the Empire State Building get vaporized. And oddly enough, I think Josh Hart is Will Smith in this one as well. Martin's got Josh Hart as Agent J. Will Smith in Men in Black. And I guess I should have wrote down what his name is in Independence Day, but that's who Josh Hart is playing. Jalen Brunson would be the Jeff Goldblum scientist character on the other side, like the more thoughtful, analytical approach to things, but they get the job done together in the end. But I couldn't decide on who would be Randy Quaid, that crazy old man who says he's already been inside of a spaceship. You think he's the guy? James Dolan is the Randy Quaid of the New York Knicks?
Tas Melis
Yes, I do.
Trey Kirby
You're probably right.
Tas Melis
Yeah. Wendy, it could just be that mothership. I mean, he's. He is the whole mothership, but. Yeah, that's. That's definitely what I was thinking. Independence Day, too.
Jay Skeets
What else is there? Cloverfield.
Trey Kirby
Cloverfield. Avengers.
Jay Skeets
A quiet. A quiet place. Is that happening Part one or the.
Tas Melis
The prequel? Right.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Okay.
Tas Melis
Day one or whatever.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's right. That's right.
Trey Kirby
War of the Worlds is in New York, but New. Not New York City.
Jay Skeets
That's okay.
Trey Kirby
Close.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. I'll take the state.
Trey Kirby
Yeah, the entire state.
Jay Skeets
I mean, that's got to be quiet place, too, right? It's not in New York City, is it? Or is it quiet?
Tas Melis
I think it is in New.
Jay Skeets
Oh, is it? I haven't seen it, actually.
Tas Melis
Haven't seen it. But the trailer looks like New York.
Jay Skeets
How many quiet places are there?
Trey Kirby
A lot.
Tas Melis
One, two, and day one, I think.
Jay Skeets
Oh, okay. Okay, Good question, Martin. Any other thoughts on aliens versus movies or in New York?
Trey Kirby
I mean, the only other one I had that's not an alien is Ghostbusters. And in that, Wemby would be The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Trey Kirby
But not very puffed.
Jay Skeets
No, not at all.
Trey Kirby
Not puffed at all.
Jay Skeets
No, he's more of a. More of a spider dog over the open fire.
Trey Kirby
He's the stick.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, that's right. Ghostbusters. Do you ever see that when they remade that?
Tas Melis
Which one? I mean, how many did they make of those?
Trey Kirby
They remade it with women. And then they remade. Because they got so upset, they made it with women. They're like, we gotta do something for the guys. We don't have anything out there in the theaters.
Tas Melis
I never saw the Paul Rudd one. The. The answer to the women.
Jay Skeets
The answer. So they made the women one first, did they? And then.
Trey Kirby
I think so, yeah.
Tas Melis
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Jay Skeets
Okay. Never saw it, though. Were you a big Ghostbusters guy back
Trey Kirby
in the day, though?
Tas Melis
Yeah, of course.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, yeah.
Tas Melis
It's Bill Murray.
Jay Skeets
Yes.
Tas Melis
Dan Aykroyd.
Jay Skeets
Okay.
Tas Melis
Harold Ramis. Come on.
Jay Skeets
It's good. It's a good movie, it turns out. How many did they make of those?
Tas Melis
Two. Wow.
Trey Kirby
This guy knows stuff. A lot of stuff.
Jay Skeets
So who's Slimer? Who's slimer then in this situation?
Trey Kirby
Who's slime?
Jay Skeets
Slimer would have to be on the spur.
Tas Melis
It's a spur. Oh, has to be.
Jay Skeets
Well, what?
Trey Kirby
Well, hold on.
Jay Skeets
How? Oh, Jeremy Sohan, he played.
Trey Kirby
He's on both.
Jay Skeets
He's a. Well, he was. Well, I don't know. A slammer. An alien, I guess.
Trey Kirby
So he's a ghost.
Jay Skeets
He's a ghost. Yeah, he's a ghost. Well, so hold on.
Tas Melis
In this situation is the ghost versus New York. Right. So the Ghostbusters are the Knicks.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
And the Ghosts are the Spurs.
Jay Skeets
Yeah. But true. Slimer's team. He's slimer. Is on the side of the Ghostbusters.
Trey Kirby
He was a ghost who went to the Ghostbusters.
Jay Skeets
I thought he was. He's friendly, is he?
Trey Kirby
I mean, you're thinking you might be conflating him with Casper.
Jay Skeets
I know, I'm not. I could have swore.
Tas Melis
Okay, he's definitely. He's innocuous, maybe, but he's definitely not friendly.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
Unless you're talking about the Animated Series, which I can't speak.
Jay Skeets
Yes, I probably am.
Tas Melis
Can you create the slime? Can it be a party?
Jay Skeets
Oh, my God.
Tas Melis
Rather than an actual Slimer. Maybe I'm just throwing it out there.
Jay Skeets
Maybe I'm thinking. Maybe I am misremembering Slimer in my head. Casper thought he was more Team Ghostbusters by the end.
Tas Melis
He's the first.
Jay Skeets
Almost Like a pet. You know what I mean? Like.
Tas Melis
Yeah, no, I hear what you're saying.
Jay Skeets
Yeah, I'm. Wow. There is a lot to. To read about this on Wikipedia. Holy crap. Ghostbusters. Slimer. Well, a Slimer's basketball reference page has a bunch of nicknames for him. Onion Head, Mean Green Ghost, Ugly Little Spud.
Tas Melis
Damn. I think Dan Akray calls him that at one point.
Jay Skeets
There you go, There you go. There you go.
Trey Kirby
That's on ghost reference.com, you said yes.
Jay Skeets
Yes. Great. That's right. That's right. All right, we'll call it there. Oh, boy, oh, boy, oh, boy. Game three, the NBA Finals is tonight. Let's go. We'll be back here tomorrow morning to break it all down, recap. It hit you with the random notes. Get into whatever else happening in the NBA. It's going to be either like, yeah, after tonight, it's like. It's like the coronation basically for the Knicks and their championship or maybe. It's very interesting suddenly. We will find out. Before we go though, I want to give some congratulations to Canada basketball because Canada's under 18 men's team made history last night in Mexico, defeating the United States 67, 65 to win the country's first ever gold medal at the FIBA under 18 Men's America. Very entertaining. I mean, I know it sounds like a low scoring game there. It's a bit of a shorter game, but a lot of lead changes in this one. Some big plays down the stretch. So they knocked off America 67 to 65 to get the gold medal. Best they had done, I guess, is bronze in this. In this under 18.
Tas Melis
Congrats to these young men with gold. Those are cool metals, not your traditional circles.
Jay Skeets
Yeah.
Tas Melis
Pretty neat. Those are neat. Yeah.
Jay Skeets
Very neat.
Trey Kirby
So congrats, Hakeem Elijah. One son is on this team.
Jay Skeets
Yes. And there's this guy. Well, I think his name's Mac or Maxim. Max Meyer. I think he's going to duke. Big dude. 7 1. Canada needs some big guys in the. The pipeline. You know, we've got like, Zach Edie, and he's always hurt.
Trey Kirby
Yeah. And a launch lady love.
Jay Skeets
He's too old. So, yeah, we need. We need this. We need this. But, man, it was a hell of a performance. So good win. Congrats to them.
Tas Melis
Is it Aziz? Aziz lajuan Aziz. Yeah, I guess he was.
Trey Kirby
I thought it was Malik Elijah.
Tas Melis
Oh, not that ice.
Jay Skeets
Is he on the under 18?
Tas Melis
No, I mean, I think that's what
Trey Kirby
it was on that.
Jay Skeets
That. That graphic potential.
Tas Melis
Seems like it's Aziz, if I'm not mistaken. Was he born in Canada?
Jay Skeets
I don't know.
Tas Melis
Okay, well, this is it.
Jay Skeets
I'm trying to read about Slimer Man. You guys are asking questions about the under 18 men's basketball team. I just wanted to congratulate.
Tas Melis
Okay.
Jay Skeets
All right, Clipper Bros, you heard it here first. Have a great time. Turn up. Love you guys.
Tas Melis
Awesome. Thanks for joining us. And remember, spurs, it's not about where you've been, it's about where you are right now. Doesn't matter that you're down 2 zip. Let's make this a fun one. Come on now.
Jay Skeets
