not gonna Lie I was woken up last night three times by children, three times by dogs. I always say that they huddle up before bedtime and decide who's gonna be the one that evening. And last night I think they missed their huddle. That was rough. Let's see if I can form a sentence and let's get this podcast. Welcome back to Not Gonna Lie, a Wave Original brought to you by Seventh Generation. I'm your host, Kylie Kelce, beginner level golfer and that's generous because I have played one round of golf and I think I quit halfway through because I wasn't technically cleared to golf that soon after having hernia surgery. I can speak French even though I hate to admit it. It's not that I necessarily hate to admit it, it's actually that Jason likes to say that I speak fluently, which I do not. So that's the discrepancy issue. Queen Emma wants me to speak French right now, but I'm not going to because there you go. You got it. That's all I have. And it's another week, which means another thirst trap of my husband on the Internet. And this time it was the NASCAR edition once again for audio listeners. My husband is wearing a jumpsuit. Pit crew jumpsuit. That's how I'm going to describe it because I actually know nothing about nascar. I plan to learn about NASCAR when I watch whatever the hell he was filming. Now I think we all know the more side quests my husband goes on, the more thirst traps are going to circulate because everybody loves to film whatever he's doing. So I'm not going to address each one because honestly, I think you guys have earned the right for. Let's call it the honor system. Meaning you can look and that's it. Literally. No, that's it. You can look. But be respectful, okay? Because if you're not, realistically, someone's going to write you out in the comments and they're going to tag me when they do it. So just know you. I. I got eyes on you. And women supporting women, thank you for the women who are shouting, kylie, come get this. When people are. They're misbehaving. Jason likes to tell me about these things in a very vague capacity. I had no. I had very little idea of what my husband was doing down there. Let's be real, my brain could not move on from quotes. Once my husband said he was going to Talladega because every single time he said Talladega, my brain said nights. Dear baby Jesus, I can't help myself. All right, now that we've addressed the second Jason thirst trap in as many weeks, which is wild. Is it? Never mind. I can focus on today's episode coming up. My husband somehow convinced me to star in a short western film. Now, people have seen it, so I guess I gotta talk about it. Even though I would really prefer to pretend like it doesn't exist and we can just have a mutual agreement that doesn't exist and we don't have to talk about it because nobody's seen it. Right? I guess. Wrong. We also have an elite doom scroll for the real ones, featuring the new missing person parent trend on TikTok, perhaps the worst baker of all time and why more fans need to fall for Gritty. Our gorgeous Philadelphia Flyers mascot. He's so handsome. After that, I'm going to be joined by someone I've been so excited to talk to. I've loved her in everything from the Suite Life to New Girl to Running Point season two. Plus, she might even be a crazier sports fan than me. We'll see. It's Brenda Song. Oh, God. I have no business. But before we get to Brenda, let's start with a couple quick NGL announcements. First, if you haven't already, make sure you watch my latest episode of FAFO right on our NGL YouTube. I need you guys to pretend like I didn't look like that playing basketball. It was a little scary at the top of the dome. More so on the inside of the building than it was on the outside. You guys need to tune into that episode to see what I'm talking about. The other thing you need to tune in for is the most Incredible conversation with Governor Shapiro and First Lady Laurie Shapiro. They are doing amazing things to focus on women's health, maternal health, postpartum experience, period products for women in government buildings and schools, making that a standard. They are putting money into research about the mortality rate for black women when it comes to giving birth. There are so many important things in this episode, and I really, really think that you guys will enjoy it. Next. Today may be the last day of April, AKA Autism Acceptance Month, but the work of the Eagles Autism foundation is year round. And guess what? It's not too late to register for the Eagles autism challenge on May 9th. You can either be a virtual participant or you can actually show up and participate in person. There is a 10 mile bike ride. You can do a 5k walk, or you can do a 1 mile sensory walk. I am so excited to be there. Again, I have not missed a single Ego's Autism Challenge. Queen Emma put in the rundown. Are you gonna run? And that's funny because, no, I don't run unless it's for something or from something. And there's nothing to run for because it's not a race and there's nothing to run from. Well, I can run for my children, but they'll chase me, so. Nope, I'm good. Oh, also, some people might have seen the more viral fundraiser that Jason puts on and our family puts on for the Eagles Autism foundation, which is what is called Shorebirds. And that is the guest bartending event at the Ocean Drive over the summer. That will be June 24th this year at the Ocean Drive in Seattle City, New Jersey. These are two different events. The event I'm Talking about on May 9, the ego's autism Challenge, is a lovely family friendly experience. Shorebirds at the OD is a lovely adult experience. And I think the best way to describe it is look up the clip that we discussed last year of my husband ripping off his breakaway pants into a Speedo. And I think that gives you all the information that you need. All right, let's move on. I guess it's about time we brought back places. Kylie has some business being brought to you by Seventh Generation. And somehow in a span of a week, we went from Cowboy Jason to Kill Girl. Me, no. And of course, more Cowboy Jason. Fine with that. And that's because, as the real ones may have seen, I was somehow convinced to star in a short western film with my husband for garage beer. Did I want to do it? Everyone all together? Hell no. Okay. But do I love my husband? Hell yes. And that is how I end up in these situations. We should have a running list. There should be a compilation of all the things that Kylie has done that Kylie wanted nothing to freaking do with. And her husband. Her husband convinced her to do. Late night show announcer, Christmas album, garage beer commercial. There has to be more. Put them in the comments, guys. Oh. New multiple times. Thank you, Queen Emma. Appearing on new multiple. Oh, I said it twice. Appearing on the other podcast multiple times, sometimes with less than an hour warning, which is wild behavior. We're not playing the clip. Oh, my God. Oh, no. I'm gonna look. I'm tearing. Okay, hold on. You don't believe me? Go check it out for yourself down in the old abandoned saloon. No. Nope. No. Oh, my God. No. Oh, my God. Don't do that again. We got cold beer in this town, but that bastard Bo Allen, he controls all of it. Bo Allen? He hates cold beer. No, sweetheart, he loves it. How do you know? I seen it with my own eyes. How's he keeping it cold down at the town bank? He turned that vault into an icebox. Keeps the key around his neck. Yeah. Listen, if you don't believe me, go check it out for yourself down in the old abandoned saloon at the edge of town. That's where him and his guys go when they want to party. Let me explain how this accident happened. There is a clip somewhere. It came across my for you page on TikTok. There is a clip somewhere of my husband doing some degree of question and answer. I have no idea what this forum was. I refused to go to the premiere of this because I didn't want to be. Oh, add documentary to the list. Oh, God. Okay, I didn't. There's a clip somewhere on TikTok of my husband doing Q and A at the premiere of this. And he acknowledges the fact that I didn't want to do it. But how? We came to the Delco, Philly, Delco, whatever that accent is. We were in the dressing room before we got started going over lines which I had never seen before, which was great. That was fun. We were going over the lines, and they said, well, you need an accent. And I said, I'm not doing a Western accent. I'm not doing it. You can't make me. It's not happening. And because, to be quite honest with you, it took a lot of convincing for me to even put this hat on. Okay. I have a problem with cowboy, cowgirl hats, whatever you want to call them. I have a problem with cowboy and cowgirl boots. Now, it's a personal thing. I don't have a problem when other people wear them. I actually quite like them on other people. But to me, it feels very Dallas Cow Cowboys adjacent. And that's how big of an Eagles fan I am, and that's how unhinged I am. Anyway, then I made a joke about doing a Delco accent, and they said, you're doing that. So Jordan, the director and Jason, they decided. And then I just went with it because I was already there and I was already dressed. Is one of the more fun things to say in Delco accent is I actually don't say it right. And I'm actually surprised. Surprised that more people in the comments did not come for me in this way. In Philadelphia and Delco specifically, really, Philly, you are supposed. It's supposed to be quicker and less clear. Like that would be more appropriate. I said straight up. I should have said, but. Because when I say asshole, it comes out far more Delco than I did, dickhead. So I'm. That's one of the many reasons why I can't watch it back. Jason said he might recruit you to do another one, but make it a romcom. No, because here's the problem, okay? At the end, I thought I was going to get a sweet kiss from my husband, and instead I get my head shoved out of the way for a bottle of garage beer. So you owe me a smoochie kiss. How about that? Okay, now we're all. Now we're all moved on. We've all moved on. And we're gonna stay with that because we're done with that now. Queen of just said totally. And I know she's lying. You all deserve cold beer. That's it for places. Kylie has some business being brought to you by Seventh Generation. Now let's get right into Doom scroll the week brought to you by Lululemon. First up, you guys know how I feel about TikTok comment sections by now. So much so that you guys actually tag me in videos and say, run, Kylie, run to those comments. And this is yet another prime example of a video you watch and then haul ass. Okay, just move it. Move it or lose it. Right to the comments. Queen Emma, the clip, please. Wait, hold on, guys. Don't mind Tony. Tony's making a cake. Don't mind Tony. Wrong side. It said bottom and sides of the pan. It says bottom and sides of the pan. What? What is that? Is this not the bottom? Oh, honey, it is the bottom, but that bottom is the outside bottom, and we need to coat the inside bottom. You know, the one that's actually going to touch the cake batter. Just a thought. I love his effort, though. And so we run, we sprint, we get there into the comments, and we find him when the instructions say, chill in the fridge for 30 minutes. And for my audio listeners, there is a little picture of a human being inside of their fridge, actually sitting in the fridge. Outstanding. The next comment says Tony baking the cake at 120 degrees. Oh, no. That is a photo of a cake pan lifted to 120 degrees. AKA the cake is nearly on its side. This feels very closely related. It's. It's the clip of fold in the cheese. Well, how do you fold? You fold it in. This feels like that in a different font. Although he was wrong, so maybe it's not. Oh, God, it's so good. Oh, someone. Someone hit me with my favorite. One of my favorite quotes. You're gonna look at me and you're gonna tell me that I'm wrong. He said it with his whole chest. This is the bottom. They said spray the bottom. He said it. This is the bottom. And I'm spraying the bottom. You're gonna look at me and you're gonna tell me that I'm wrong. Am I wrong? She wore a crown and she came down. She came down in a bowl. God, I love it. I'm a little concerned. Concerned for Tony. I'm curious if Tony understands the other instructions. Did you guys ever have to do the exercise in school where you wrote the list of directions to do what you would assume is a simple task? I do believe ours was making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I feel like to you're in that exercise. You're a teacher. Typically will then take the list of directions and point out the faults, AKA the spaces in which you did not provide enough direction. I think Tony should start testing those directions. Tony needs more. He needs more instruction. It's okay, Tony. Not everyone's meant to bake. I think we just give that one up. Sorry. All right, next up, kids all over TikTok are proving just how brutally honest they can be about their parents with this new missing person trend. Oh, no. Queen, I'm of the clip, please. If I was missing and I needed to describe me, you needed to describe me to the police. What would you say? She likes McDonald's.
A
She has hair that turned from blonde to black. She farts pretty loud, so you'll smell without or your canine will. You're doing everything. L. Just be quiet. She's very beautiful. She has hazel eyes.
B
She has brown hair with highlights. She has a banging butt. She. Okay, dad.
A
Oh, four.
B
You'll probably catch her at McDonald's eating. Okay, first of all, this is the most first child, second child display I've seen in a minute. The first child said, I know how to handle this exercise. And the second one said, I' ma roast the out of you for the next two minutes straight. That's crazy. The difference in the description is not. Those are two different human beings. I think that if I asked any of the girls to describe me, that why it would take it as an opportunity to say that I am mean. And probably something about my butt. I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I do think that would be the case. I think Ellie would just be sweet and I think Benny would be a wild card. But I mean, we've talked about it on here. Benny has told me I have tall boobs, right? Was it Benny? I don't even know which one at this point. All their insults really just. They melt together. If they had to describe Jason. Oh, I know what Benny would do. Benny would tell you that he's. She might tell you he has a beard, but she would definitely tell you he's handsome. Because every time she sees him recently, she goes, I love you, dad. You're so handsome. I don't know what she's working towards, but I'm gonna figure it out. And the number of times she said it at this point, it's gotta be big. Maybe it's expensive. I don't know. She's working on something. You're so handsome, Dad. I love you. I agree with the whole statement, but also what I'm hoping she would balance that with your beautiful mom, but I just can't be certain at any given time. And last up, the Flyers are in the playoffs. But the real mvp, at least on social media, has been our mascot, Gritty. He's on a generational TikTok run right now. Queen Emma. Let's see it, please, my audio listeners. Gritty is beating the absolute crap out of the Pittsburgh Penguin. Yeah, he is. He is beating him. Oh, and now he's lifted over his head and he's nodding like a WWE wrestler. And then he launches him over the edge. I believe we have another clip helping random Penguins fans get home safe. Part 2. The first part of the clip are Penguins fans running. And the second part of the clip clip is Gritty's googly eyes going whackadoodle while he chases him down the hallway. Gritty is great because Gritty is gritty. Gritty is Philadelphia. Gritty doesn't hold back. He's very straightforward. He's very straight to the point. And I love it. I love it so much. He looks like a hot mess express. Have you seen his belly button? Yeah. If you haven't, Google it. Look it up. Look up his belly button. I know that sounds crazy, but it's kind of ridiculous. People online are starting to wonder if there really is even a person inside the gritty costume. I could go either way on this. I mean, what was he born out of, like a sewer in Philadelphia? Was he born out of a manhole cover in Philly? According to his official biography? Tell me. Gritty emerged after construction at the Xfinity Mobile Arena. The Flyers home arena disturbed his secret hideout. It was probably a sewer. It was probably the sewer underneath of Xfinity Live Arena. He is a great complement to the family friendly, fun loving Philly fanatic. I wouldn't quite say Gritty is family friendly. He's Philly family friendly. He is not what the rest of the country would agree is family friendly. I think. And I mean that wholeheartedly as a compliment. And that does it for dooms. Girl of the Week brought to you by Lululemon Coming up, I'm about to be joined by Brenda Song right after these messages from me with four little girls. I know sometimes we can all be a little extra. Like when you have to cook two different shapes of pasta. Yeah. Or you must wear a princess dress to go to the grocery store. That's exactly how I know what does and doesn't need to be so extra. So many dish soaps are loaded with dyes and artificial fragrances that do more to put on a show than actually clean. That's the wrong kind of extra. And that's where Seventh Generation comes in. Seventh Generation's bio based power cuts through grease so I can clean my dishes and then get back to literally anything else. That's Seventh Generation. All the cleaning power, none of the extras. Plus the dish liquid is EPA Safer Choice certified, meaning they're designed to be safer for you, your family and the environment. It's just a powerful clean that gets the job done and leaves nothing behind. Meaning you don't need to rewash dishes while also holding a Todd with your other arm. Make the switch today to 7th Generation, a powerful clean without anything extra. Visit www.7th Generation.com extra to learn more. The real ones know that I've been wearing my favorite Lululemon shorts and leggings since I was 19. The best part is Lululemon Looks great and lasts. You feel that the first time you put it on, and you feel it six months later. Plus, their new spring styles take that even further. I'm loving the new Rulo Drapey Yoga Jogger.
A
That's these.
B
Okay. You want to know why I love them? Because it's comfortable. I love this fabric. The Rouleaux fabric is so soft. It feels buttery and nice. Lululemon fabric is great because the fact that it keeps its shape wear after wear. I have tested that through four pregnancies, and I still have leggings that I will wear, and they absolutely come right back to where they originally were. So not only do they fit a belly, but now they fit my postpartum body. Here's the thing you need to know. Lululemon does limited color runs, so when those new styles drop every Tuesday, they go fast. I just picked this up off of the new Lululemon golf drop, which this color is beautiful and it's so freaking comfy. But you guys know I'm a golfer now, so you don't want to wait if it's not for you. Lululemon offers free returns, no risk. That's lululemon.com new drops every Tuesday. Go now. She's the ridiculously funny and talented actress, you know, from Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Doll face, new girl, and of course, running point season two is officially out now on. She's also a fellow mom and one of the most intense sports fans I've ever seen. And that's a lot coming from me. And now she's officially not gonna lie. Brenda Song, welcome to the show.
A
Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited. I'm such a big fan of this show.
B
This has been months in the making. We have been talking about trying to get you on here for a while. I think there was brief talks about that. This would have been a beautiful meetup in. In Disney World.
A
You have no idea. I was devastated when that didn't work out. Devastated.
B
There's always later.
A
Please take a rhyme check, please. I'm a Disney adult, so please. That's my dream.
B
Perfect. Because I refuse to go there unless I have a Disney adult at my beck and call. Because I am not a Disney adult and I like to lean on professionals.
A
I could right now, if you were to tell me, like, how should I go through Disneyland with my kids? I would write you down how you should hit the parks, where you should go. How old are your kids, what ride they should hit.
B
Yes.
A
Not only grew up Disneyland but, like, as an adult, I feel like me and Mac love Disneyland more than our children do.
B
I do think that that. So we are. Because we're east coast, we're worlds, we're Disney World people.
A
Yeah.
B
I will tell you, I have realized that it is not for the kids. It's not. It's for us. And as adults, we can appreciate the magic and also the food and beverage. And also our legs can do it. You know, it's a lot.
A
We took our kids way too early. Like, they don't know poor Mac is like strolling them in the huge double strollers. And like, by 1pm they're tired. I'm like, we have eight hours to go.
B
Yep. This is a marathon, not a sprint, people. We figured out that if you get. Because we have four because. Because we're crazy.
A
Congratulations. Also, are you okay?
B
No. Thank you for asking.
A
I.
B
We figured out that there are actually these strollers that you can fold up and put underneath the big stroller. So we have two compact strollers underneath a double stroller because you can't take a wagon. That's a thing. So. Yeah, I. I wholeheartedly agree with. It's a. It's a marathon, not a sprint. And we have regularly hit that like one, maybe somewhere between one and two o'. Clock. And I'm like, are we gonna make it? Are we gonna. Are we gonna make fireworks? Who knows? But we're gonna find out together.
A
That's exactly. For us. That's the benchmark is are we gonna make the light show and. Or the fireworks?
B
Yes. We'll get back to Parenthood a little bit later, but I really wanna talk to you about Running Point. First of all, congrats. Congrats on season two.
A
Thank you. Thank you so much.
B
I actually got to talk to Kate Hu. The first season came out.
A
Yes, yes, yes.
B
And it's been so fun to see your friendship on screen. How has that been for you guys?
A
Well, firstly, I told her all about your podcast because I love it and I. That's the thing about Kate is she is one of my really good friends. She's like a big sister to me. I sometimes look over and I still can't believe that I'm standing next to Kate Hudson. Like, it feels insane because she's such an icon. I love her so much. So many of her performances live rent free in my head. And I remember meeting her for the first time at our first table read. And I was so, so, so nervous. And she was like the coolest, most like, open, chill, kind Generous person. And I'm so grateful to have her in my life because now that we've known each other for, gosh, like, over two years, she has just been the advice that she's given me. Like, personally, professionally, interior design advice, everything. And this woman knows everything. I'm so grateful because she is the best scene partner. But also, at the same time, I think we're chatting more about everything else. Like, we kind of shoot a show while we're just hanging out. That's what it feels like. This show is like we're just a bunch of friends hanging out. And I guess we kind of make a show in our downtime.
B
It's honestly, I feel like that comes through the screen. The level of comfort and the friendship you guys have comes through the screen because it's. First of all, I said this to Kate. I watched the entire first season while walking on the treadmill because I was like, if you guys are gonna be boss ass women, I'm gonna be a boss ass woman and keep my body moving while I watch this show. But I love that it really is like two friends just being badasses in the sports world. I'm. It's. It feels so good and you can feel it right through the screen.
A
Oh, thank you. It's, you know, I test. I always say it starts from the top and like, Mindy Kaling is like the big, like, the most badass boss woman you'll ever meet. Like, you know, she, like, for our first table read, she had sent me an email being like, oh, I'm not gonna make it cause I'm about to give birth. And I was like, I didn't even know you were pregnant. Two weeks into filming, like, two weeks later, we're filming our first episode and we finish a take and then I hear, wait, wait, wait, I have a quick note and it's freaking Mindy. And I'm like, mindy, you just had a baby. She's, like, insane. Like, being around her and Kate have just inspired me so much because when I was about to start this show, I was. This was my first, like, my big undertaking, having two kids. I felt really lost and confused about, you know, where I was in life, how do I navigate this new me? Because I just felt so different after having my kids. And you know how, you know, like, I feel like society tells, like, all, like, working moms. Like, no, girl, you got to go out there and keep working, live your best life, be a boss bitch, but also be a full time mom. You can't miss a single Soccer practice. Make sure you. Every bedtime, make sure. And I was like, what am I? I didn't know. I. I was so nervous. And then I met these two incredible women who both have three kids, who both run empires, who are both so kind and generous and so talented and good people. And it inspires me so much to just keep going and that it's just about prioritizing your, like, what's important to you and that moms are incredible. You just make it work. Like, you just. I don't know how, but you just do.
B
That's the female way. We'll make it. We'll figure it out, and we'll do it. I am going to hit the spoiler alert because your partner once again makes a cameo this season as someone who also has a husband constantly pitching crazy ideas to her to get involved in. I love this for you guys. What's your strategy when he does this? I'm just.
A
I'm like, can I just have one thing? I'm kidding. It's. You know what it is? It's because we genuinely are all friends, like Dave Stassen and Ike Barinholtz and Mindy, like, our, like, Mac is friends with them. And so it started off as, like, kind of a joke because we shoot all of the basketball, all the game stuff at the very end. We shoot at the last couple of weeks. And Mac just, like, stopped by set and he was like, oh, what if you just, like, throw me in the stands? Like, can I just, like, be a fan? No one says anything. And he's like, but, you know, we can, like, maybe I'll do a fan bit. And they're like, actually, we do have, like, a little fan bit that is coming up in a couple of days if you want to do that. And he's like, oh, my God, yes. And then I was like, oh, that's cute. And then we got picked up for a second season, and we were actually at the opening Rams game, and I had Dave Stassen, our showrunner, and Scott McArthur, who plays Ness. I had them come with us. And he spent the first half hour, like, pitching this, like, story arc for this fan and how he's gonna come back.
B
Yes.
A
And let me tell you, he already has a pitch for this non existent season three. And he was so mad because he technically has two cameos this season because we use a clip from My Girl spoiler. And he was so mad because he's like, I have two cameos and I didn't even get an invite to the Premiere. He was like, I'm your plus one. I was like, wow, honey. I was like, you were there either way. He was there either way.
B
That's a great point, though. So season three. I'll do it. I'll do what I love to do. This is my wooden spoon. I knock on fierce fur for good luck just so we don't jinx anything. But I'm on board. I'm going to cross fingers and toes for a season three and hope that maybe there's three cameos next season. Because if it was, if we're building, let's build, you know?
A
Oh, that's a great pitch. Oh, I can't even. I can't even give him that suggestion if I tell him to do three cameos on the show.
B
I just think this, this fan might have a deeply rooted backstory and why they're a fan, you know? I don't know. I don't write shows. There's a reason for it. I have business in there, but just take it. Just take it. Keep that one. We'll take it.
A
If we use the idea, we'll credit you, Kylie.
B
We thank you so much. Out. Maybe I could come to the premiere.
A
Please come.
B
Thank you so much.
A
No, that would be so much fun. I always say, like, there is. I, I. We need more women and women in sports on this show. I. I'm like, I'm here for it.
B
Oh, I don't want to be in it. I just want to come.
A
No, I mean, you can come visit, but also be in it.
B
No, thank you. I am good. Have you ever seen the Homer Simpson when he melts into the hedge? Yes, that's me. That is me. Find a hedge. I'll be in it. I am good. If you are a hedge. Yeah. If you have a hedge on the. You just paint me green, Put me in there. That's. That'll be my role.
A
Well, regardless, you. You should come visit.
B
Okay.
A
If there's a third season. Come, come, come, please.
B
I'm manifesting a third season for many reasons. Many, many reasons, because I love this show.
A
Thank you.
B
Now, you, of course, played the chief of staff for an LA basketball team in the show, but in real life, you are one of the biggest Laker fans around. Yes, it is. It's so impressive. How superstitious are you? Because I'm asking. This is safe space for superstition. Because, I mean, you saw my wooden spoon. I like to keep something handy just in case. We'll scale it. I need to know how superstitious you are on a scale of 1 to turning around in your seat at the stadium, if shit isn't going your way, it is.
A
So I've been better now because I literally went to the hospital watching a Laker game at home. I hyperventilated because I was watching a game, and it was the game. It was the Game seven, Western Conference finals, Lakers, Sacramento. I talk about this all the time because it was like. It was so anxiety ridden. The game was really close, and I had taken a little sip of water. And I'm a person that. Well, I had this, like, Lakers, like, pajama set that I wore, and we went on a run and I was like. And I wore that. And I won't wash it. I don't have anything to start with. But if we have a great game, I'll just, like, casually repeat something and then it becomes my superstition of the season.
B
I endorse it.
A
That came. I took a sip of water and they scored. And then I was like, oh, that's so crazy. And I took another little sip of water and they scored again. So I just kept taking sips of water and I. And this was, like, the start of the second half, and by the end of it, I was. I literally threw up. I was freaking out because we won the game. And I, like, literally hyperventilated and had me taken to the hospital. And at the hospital, I was in there waiting, and I was. I wanted to watch the post game. I was trying to make myself throw up because I was like, if I just throw up, I can go home. And they had to turn off all the TVs because I was trying to make myself throw up so I could watch the post. Like, the post game. So that is the level of, like, superstition I was at. I'm better now. Like, I'm better now. Like, for instance, I do have, like, a lucky Rams jersey. I'm much more superstitious with the Rams right now because it's also a much shorter season because I used to be in 82 games a year. Whether I was listening to it on the radio with Stu and Chick or they. Yeah, I was. I would listen to it on the radio because that's how old I am and that's how long I've been watching the Lakers. And when I was shooting the Suite Life, they had to put a monitor under because we shot in front of a live audience. So they had, like, bleachers. They'd have to put a monitor underneath the bleachers if there was a game on. So I Could watch because otherwise I'd be so distracted because I need to know what the score was.
B
Yes, absolutely. Yes.
A
So that is the level of superstition I have now. Like, I was so nervous and I still think this is why the last game we went to was the OKC game. And mind you, LeBron was in playing. AR wasn't playing. Luca wasn't playing. But it is the first time because I am a. When I go to a sports game, I'm in head to toe in my team's gear. I do not like to like. And I went and we had just come from a long day of press and I wasn't wearing any Lakers gear. And I. Why we lost that game is because I was not wearing Lakers gear because I never go to a sports game without wearing. So I'm like, that's what it was. It's because I wasn't wearing my Lakers gear.
B
I can't disagree with you. I'm sorry to put that pressure on you, but I can't disagree with you. Yeah, okay. Well, you're never gonna make that mistake again.
A
Never. I kept thinking about it because we went straight from our press and I was like, I don't have any Lakers gear. I'm gonna be okay.
B
Next time. Next time we stop at the pro shop.
A
We have to. We have to.
B
You have no other choice. This. This feels really good to me. This. I'm sorry that it feels so bad for you, but it feels great to me. Now, the one other thing I will bring up about the Lakers is that I saw somewhere that on Suite Lifestyle on the Suite Life set that you had a cutout of Kobe. Is that correct?
A
My whole. My dressing room for the entirety was all Lakers out. Like I have a. Like a lake like you walk in. You Kobe. You met a life size Kobe Ryan met you at the door. But I had Lakers theme. Blankets, pillows, mirrors. It was all Lakers theme. The entirety of. Yeah, my. I was always lacred out. I mean, I had sneakers that had. I had custom made. They were like old school dunks that were purple and gold. And they say Ms. Brenda Bryant on the side because that's how psychotic I was. Delusional. Absolutely delusional.
B
Now I would like to say the. The clip of you mic'd up. Come on.
A
Go.
B
Brenda's busy. Come on.
A
You gotta double team him. Double team em.
B
Yes. Get it, get it, get it. Leva, let's go.
A
I love you so much. Why do you think I sweat so much?
B
I gave outstanding. I was actually very calm, so that's so that's. That was one of. Thank you so much for bringing that up. Were you on your best behavior?
A
I was so calm. I, like, I. I was actually. What I watched when they sent it to me, I was like, oh. I was like. But I was much more calm than I normally. And, like, when you sit courtside at the Lakers, they give you, like, this little note that is, like, the way that you need to conduct yourself. Sure. And I feel personally, like. I feel like they wrote it for me. I feel like, hey, Brenda, chill out. I really feel like I. I took it really personally, and I was like, okay, I'm gonna be on my best behavior. And so I just want everyone to know that I was on my best behavior. I was so. That was a really hard game. We. It was a rough game for us, and I feel like.
B
Because you didn't have your Lakers gear on.
A
Exactly. But I feel like I was really calm, and I feel like we had a great time. I taught Kate a lot. She, like, makes me laugh because she is so funny, because she is the exact opposite of me at a game. She's so calm. She's so chill. And I. Those words don't. I don't know what those words mean. Especially at a sporting event. I have no idea. Oh, yeah. I. Mac is always worried that I'm going to get into a fight at a game, because if the feeling. I was like, especially if you're coming to our house. Yeah, get out of here. Get out of here.
B
Now, I will say, in terms of Kate's reaction to you, the one part of the clip where she turns and goes, brenda's busy. I'm like, that. That's the perfect. Like, I'm just. I'm here for a good time. She's busy, so we can't. We can't interrupt her. Now, I do want to bring up. You're saying you're very calm in that clip. How about when you were with Macaulay last year? Would you say that was your best behavior? A push off? A push off? What?
A
Yeah. No, no. That was actually still pretty tame. Like, that was like, you don't want to see me. I feel like with basketball right now because I. My fandom is different. When Kobe was playing. Oh, no. You could have never mic'd me up, because I would. I would go after players, families, and children. Like, I was that level of, like, crazy. I really feel like I am so much more calm than I would be at a Rams game. I always say, like, I was like, you can't make Me up at a Rams game, I would. I would be canceled immediately because I'm just. I. I'd just be yelling. Also, I would just be yelling the entire time because I really do. I would like, my goals is to be like, you know, like an assistant defensive coordinator. Like, that is my, like, dream goal. Like, that's what I want to do in life.
B
Yes.
A
And I feel like I. And especially now, I feel like I've gotten a lot more calm. I mean, you might have to ask Mac. He'll probably say something different. But I do feel like I'm. I'm more chill than I used to be.
B
I have gone. I've gone on record. People will ask me all the time about how it's been. Do you still go to games all the time? Because I used to go to every home game. Yeah. And I say no. I watch from the comfort of my own living room. They're like, you. You like that? In my head, I'm like, yeah, I do, because I can say all the curse words I want in my living room, and no one's going to be like, wow, Kylie, why are you talking about that player like that? And I'm like, well, because he's got bricks for hands. Okay. Yes. Who am to, you know, or like every time there's like a defensive secondary and it goes right through their hands. And, I mean, they get fingers on it. And I'm like, that's why they're defense, Kylie. That's why they're defense, Kylie. That's why their defense, Kylie, if they had hands, they'd play offense. And I'm talking to myself, and I'm like, you know what? This living room, this is a good place to do that.
A
This stadium.
B
Eyes on me. You know, I will. Especially you. I'm good.
A
It's so funny because I always say this. I'm like. I always preface it that when I'm watching a game. Game, there is no player in person, this is just players. We are talking strictly sports here. And so when I am like, I. I love. Like, I love my Ramley, I love my Rams players. But, yes, don't get it twisted. When someone drops a pass, when there is. When there's a missed opportunity, when someone is just not. Because so many things have to go right for. You know, like, that's the thing about football. It, like, truly one person misses someone. You miss a block. You. It is done for your. The plays.
B
It's.
A
And I can't let it go. I hold on to grudges for a very long Time. Like, I could tell you now, like how many. How many players that I look at and I was like, oh, I'll never forget that past you drop. I'll never forget it. I'll never forget it now.
B
I used to give. I used to give myself grace by reminding myself that no one was excluded from the opportunity of me ripping them to shreds. And by that I mean I used to get my husband too. Like there were times where he would. He would have a hold and I'd be like, you thought you were going to get away with that? You thought you were going to get. You thought you were going to. You were so far outside of your framework. I'm done. Like, I would be. I would be like, no one was safe. No one. So I feel like that makes it fair. Checking Allstate first could save you hundreds on car insurance. That's smart. Not checking the kids pockets before starting the laundry. Now there's random rocks clanking around in the dryer and what I can only guess is chewed gum all over the place. Yeah, checking first is smart. So check Allstate first for a quote. B
What I will say is that I am not sorry about the last couple times that the Eagles and the Rams met up.
A
Oh, my God, please don't even get me started. That blocked me that blocked kick.
B
Jordan David.
A
I'm still mad at Jalen. I'm still mad at that Jalen Carter sack like two playoffs ago in like, I'm still mad about it. When we. I was like, in my mind, I was like, we're driving down. We have the ball. We're down. I see we're gonna win by one. I see this.
B
Yeah.
A
Jalen Carter, I. He's incredible.
B
Let me tell you about that Jordan Davis block from our side of things. Remember we were talking about superstition? I turned my ass around in my seat and then you guys didn't win.
A
No, we did not.
B
Success.
A
So many of our losses this past season came down to either. I mean, it came down to special teams, but it came. I mean, we had two blocked field goals the past season to, to lose a game.
B
I mean, that only plays into the win now because you have, you guys have it. You're. I mean, when you're losing by that small of a margin, it says you're right there.
A
Yeah. And then. So that's why we took Ty Simpson and that's why we took a quarterback in for our, our first pick in this draft. I love, I think everyone loved that. Yes, I think everyone loved that for. I, I, I, I was, I was, we were here in New York doing press, and I've been, I've been waiting for the draft because off season, when you're, when you didn't win, like I always say, like, the fastest off season was when the Rams won. Because I'm like, I'm living it up.
B
Yes.
A
You know, in the off season. But when you don't win or when your team was really close and they don't win, this is like the hardest time.
B
You're like, how are you going to fix it?
A
Exactly. So all I'm thinking about is, you know, okay, what trades, what do we get? A free agency and then the draft. You get so excited about the draft because you're like, all right, here's where we can figure out. And especially I think specifically in the NFL and football, a player can make an impact immediately. It's truly a young man's game. Like, you come in right out the gate, you can make a difference. I mean, like, you know what I mean right away. And so that's what's hard for me is like, we're not a, we can't wait three years. Matt Stafford will be 742. Like, you know what I mean? I'm like, we are, oh, gosh, we are a win now team. And so I'm, I'm really frustrated because all the other picks that we took, we took a tight end, like an O line, defensive line, a wide receiver. I'm like, yeah, that's what I thought we were going to. And I thought we were just going to take a star player, someone like Kai Lemon, a Caleb Downs, a Ruben Bane, someone that's going to make an impact right away,
B
you know?
A
You know, and I'm, I hope I like Kylie. I hope in a couple of years that I'm eating my words. Like, I hope I'm going Brenda past. Brenda was wrong. I hope I'm wrong. I hope I'm Wrong.
B
I. I mean, as long as it is not against the Eagles. I hope you're wrong too, just because I love your passion.
A
We actually did a funny thing on our. We were all together with our cast and everyone, like, Justin was like, you know what we should do? Show each other's for you page. Like, or explore page on Instagram. And I was like, what is mine? Because I'm not really on social and like, mine, like, I mean, let's see. It is. I'm like such a. I'm like such a. Like, like, oh, I don't know how to get to your number. I don't know how to get to your free page. But we went on mine and they were like, mine looked like a 12 year old boy. It was just four. I was like, is this really who I am? Like, I.
B
Apparently getting a targeted ad for. For like fat heads for. For your wall.
A
Oh, I mean, yeah. I mean, even now, like, I. Right now it's. It's just the Rams. Yes, it's just the Rams.
B
Tis the season.
A
Rams all the time. It's no joke.
B
I love that so much.
A
I know. This is my life, Kylie. I. I think my kids, like, so this past August, like Mac like kind of re. Proposed to me and it was really sweet. I was coming home from running point and my mom text me, she like, are you wearing makeup? And I was like, what? And they had flowers like all by the front door. And my two boys and he like, I walk up and I was like, oh my God. And he looked at my voice, he goes, okay, what do you say to mama? And my youngest went, ram's house. Because he's so used to me doing callback. I'll. Because I'll go, whose house? And I'll go, ram's house. I've trained my kids well.
B
That's so beautiful.
A
Yeah. Oh, we rehearsed and we rehearsed like, will you marry us? But no, my son instinctively knew house. Ram's house.
B
That's outstanding. Raising them right, you know, raising them right, you gotta. You gotta get it in there while they're. You really have to like instill it when they're young. Yeah. So that they know if you ask my kids go, they'll say, go birds. Yes.
A
I love that.
B
We gotta.
A
As they should.
B
They should. That's a well informed child and I like it. Now, before we move off of sports completely, I heard you say one of your dreams would be to be chief of staff for a team. Oh, yeah. But you actually did get kind of close when you were a captain for the Disney Channel games.
A
Yes.
B
Okay, now, I apologize for this next sentence.
A
No, please.
B
But can you believe that was 20 years ago?
A
That is. I mean, you.
B
You're. Feel free to remind me. Feel free to say. No, it wasn't. Because I say all the time, I'm 24 years old. I. 24. I'm 34 years old.
A
Can I tell you, I didn't really feel my age until I had children. Like, I feel like I've aged 10 years in the last five.
B
See, I still think I'm a teen mom. I have a six year old. My oldest is six. I'm like, I was a teen mom, 24 years old. I was math. I was a teen mom.
A
My favorite is when I was like, yeah, I have two kids, three and five. They're like, oh, yeah. And I was like, you don't want to tell me that. That's shocking. Like, I look like I shouldn't have to say.
B
Should have said something else.
A
House. Yeah. That you should have been like, oh, my goodness, you don't look like you should have two kids. Because in my mind, I'm like, I'm still a child. I can't believe someone allowed me to have two children.
B
Thank you for saying that.
A
Right. I'm like. And I realized when I had kids, I'm like, no one knows what they're doing. My parents definitely had no idea what they're doing.
B
Absolutely.
A
We're all faking it till we make
B
it a thousand percent.
A
But back to the Disney Channel games. Yes. That was the best. Like, we were so competitive because we did it Disney World. The. The second to third years we did at Disney World. And it truly was like summer camp on steroids because we all knew each other. We all shot on the same lot. We've all known each other for so long, but they literally put us in our own little tents. And my team in particular. That first year we were out there, when I was a captain of the red team, the Inferno, we were so competitive, like, and so many of us were far too old, like, to be this competitive because some of the kids were really young. We're like, we don't care. We're gonna win. They had to tell us so many times to stop swearing because we were so in it. Like, we're, like, in it a. We're, like, in hamster balls. Like, like, we're doing the most childish, like, games, but taking it so serious. Like, we literally. Game plan. Be like, okay, so for this. For this mini game where we have to keep the ball up in the air. This is what we're gonna do. Like, we were so serious. And I mean, that's, I mean, that's how I approach sports. Like, I'm terrified for. My kids are playing actual sports with games. Mac is like, I'm not allowed to go. Like, I'm not allowed to go to games.
B
That's fair. You know, sometimes you gotta recognize and you gotta be self aware and you gotta be like, you know what? I'm either going with. With tape over my mouth or I'm not going at all. Exactly. Now everybody's talking about their Disney Channel. Mount Rushmore, which I saw you did. You. You shared yours. I just recently shared mine. I had Miley, Hillary, you and Selena. Who would be your Disney Channel starting five.
A
Oh, like, if I had to.
B
If you were putting. If you were putting five people on a court, who are you putting out there?
A
Let me see. Let me get. I have to really think about this because we're actors, mind you. Actors. So I have to think hard about this because, I mean, that'd be really hard because I love everyone.
B
But like sports, it's not about loving them. I know if they're an athlete. They're not.
A
I'm telling you right now. I'm literally blinking because I'm like, I. We're not a very athletic bunch.
B
You're like, none of you are worth drafting kinda. It's okay. I don't think I draft myself if that's the answer.
A
I think I draft myself.
B
I think we could have you as the head coach.
A
Yeah, I see. I would do that, but I don't think I could actually play. You know what my mind went straight to was get your head in the game. And I was like, wait, maybe Zach or Corbin or Luke. They're dancing. They're dancing.
B
They are dancing. There is a. There is a finesse to dancing that could make you a little fluid on the court.
A
True.
B
Could have you breaking some ankles.
A
I, like, probably that. Or like, I'm thinking of like, do you remember like the Disney Channel movie? Like, it's like I forgot. It was like double, double, double teamed or something. The two sis. The two twins.
B
Yes.
A
I was like, I'm literally going back and going, yes. Did they actually play? Oh, you know what? John Salley, former Laker, former wonderful Laker. We. He was actually in a Disney Channel original movie that I was in. So I draft him. I dropped John Sally.
B
That is the most.
A
Just wait, does it count? You know what? Dwight Howard was also a guest star on our show.
B
Jesus. I love that you're like, how can I make my way around this and make. You know, I'll take a legitimately good starting five. So I'm gonna find the people who had cameos and then I will put literally. Outstanding. I love that tactic.
A
I like to win Kylie. I like to love it so much in any way possible.
B
Outstanding. That was well done. Way to take that and just absolutely smash it. Gosh. Now, since we're talking Disney Channel, I have to ask you about London Tipton and the Suite Life of Zack and Cody. Would you ever be down for a Suite Life reunion?
A
Oh, of course. I mean, I see. I just saw Phil Lewis recently. Dylan and I were just texting and I saw, like, I saw Ashley about a year ago. We still all see each other, but we haven't all been in the same room in such a long time. And I think that'd be so much fun because people always talk about reboots and I think we all feel the same way where we kind of feel like we don't want to touch something that we feel like we couldn't do justice to. And because at that time, like, we were just. We just had the best time on that show. Like, they really are like family, but a thousand percent. I would love to everyone together in a room together because it's been so long and I've sort of seen everyone individually, but we haven't all been in the same room in a really long time. And I think that'd be so much fun. We're married with kids. All of us are like. It's. It's insane.
B
We're all so old. I would love it. I feel like the nostalgia would just hit so hard. And I do think that, like you're saying a reunion would be. It would be so refreshing and it. I don't. I don't even. I mean, I wouldn't say no to read them, but if it's not you guys, like, the. The nostalgia of it is you guys. Oh, so it feels so good.
A
Maybe we need a Disney Channel Games reunion. Like, that would be fun. All of us so old now with our, like, child, like our broken bodies from having children all. All together. And we'll just, like, play like, Mahjong or like, Jin Rummy.
B
A Seated Games, please.
A
A seated Games for the. The geriatric Disney former Disney Channel stars.
B
Now, I did see that your partner has said your kids don'. Know that London Tipton is literally you. Is that still the case?
A
They don't understand, like, Mac has behind my back, shown them things that I've in. Like, our oldest is really into, like, superheroes and, like, Ninja Turtles. And we showed them, like, the Ninja turtles from the 90s and, like, three ninjas. Do you remember those movies?
B
Yes.
A
And so they were very into it. And Mac showed them Wendy Woo and my son because they're so used to watching videos of themselves and, like, digital age, they don't. They're so confused because they're like, why is Mama flying across a warehouse while doing kicks? Why is Mama doing backflips? And they're like, can you do that, Mama? Can you do that right now? And I was like, how do I explain this to the kids? And I looked at Mac and I was like, how dare you do this to me? Because now. And so now set a level of expectation, because otherwise, Mama will be doing flying sidekicks from across the room.
B
Yes.
A
They don't understand. It's really weird for them because I think they just think this was, like, us when we were younger. The way that they look at pictures of them when they were younger. For me, it's a little bit different because, like, I feel like I still look the same. Like. Like, same. Ish. I just look younger. For Mac, they don't understand that he is Kevin. They love Home Alone. They watch it for the first time this past year. They love it. They don't understand that that's their papa. Like, if you asked my kids what, like, their parents did for a living, like, they asked my son at school, like, oh, what does your mama do for work? Because I was away for work, and the teacher told me. He goes, oh, my mama talks. She talks for a living. He's not wrong, but that's what he thinks me.
B
A few other details were missed, but it's fine.
A
Yeah, it's. It's really hard. Because it's hard. Like, it's not a tangible thing for, like, kids at this age to understand that their parents pretend to be other people on tv, you know? So, yeah, we're. It's like, we'll cross that bridge when we need to.
B
We'll get there eventually.
A
I hope so.
B
Maybe now, since we're already talking motherhood. You guys have two boys? Yes, I have four girls. Yeah. When you talk with friends that have girls, what stands out as the biggest difference?
A
My favorite thing is when my girlfriends are like, oh, I'm sitting here and we're doing our nails, or she's there and you're doing my makeup. Yes. We're gonna go have a Nail day. Or my girlfriend, like, brought her daughter, like, for lunch, and she was sitting there just, like, chatting about nails. And I literally had to bring, like, a bag full of toys. And I'm running around catching, like, heads and, like, they're. My friend sent that same friend sent me a video of, like, our situation where it's like, a mom and her daughter, like, they're playing with dolls and they're sitting there chatting, and the house looks all aesthetic. And then her friend with the. Her boy mom friend comes in and she's, like, in sweat sweats carrying, like, 14 bags running around. That is me. And that's. I think the biggest difference is boys at this age just don't stop moving. Everything is tag. Mac taught them freeze tag so I can at least, like, have a break. Freeze tag. My kids love being municipal worker, so it's like, policemen take you to jail. I'm a fireman who needs to be saved. It is constant. We're, like, now they're into, like, play fighting. And I'm trying to teach them how to do it safely without, like, hurting. But also, I don't want to, like, like, stunt their, like, you know, their curiosity and their creativity. I'm like, don't we want to color? Like, no. I've, like, taught. No, I know. I. My oldest finally is, like, getting into card games. He loves, like, Uno.
B
Yeah.
A
And like, board games. So I'm very happy about that. But most of the time it's like, let's play tag. Let's. Let's. Can I chase you, mama? And they'll, like, literally chase me, and they're like, run around car. It is. I never stop. I. It's work is actually the place where I take a break. I was like, full time moms. That is the hardest job in the world. Stay at home moms are like the heroes that I will never have more than enough respect for because I say, you know, balance, finding work, balance with a working mom, like, it's a different struggle. The mom guilt, all that kind of stuff. But I remember two weeks after having my first son, I. My mom, who's like, we don't have a traditional nanny. I have my mom. Because Asian mom looked at us and was like, if you get a nanny, I'll be insulted. And it's like the biggest blessing in our lives. I remember looking at her after, like, two weeks postpartum and be like, I am so sorry for anything I've ever done to upset you, to hurt you, to ever, like, cause you stress. Because being a mom Is so hard. And she did it with three kids and, like, being at home and, like, run. Like, I don't know how she did it. Like, she truly, like, I. I don't know how you do it. Like, I am. It is so hard. It is so hard. Like, right now, being here is. Has been so hard being away for the kids. But it's like this balance of figuring out the mom guilt and understanding that I truly have to be. For me to be the best mom, I have to be the best me. And a huge part of that is work that really makes me feel strong and confident and like me because I love my work so much in trying to do that while also being with my kids as much as I can be and also trying to teach them that you have to work.
B
It is crazy to think that you are molding their upbringings. Like, you know, what your childhood did for you. And obviously you want to try and replicate certain things and not replicate other things. But at the end of the day, you are making what we now look back on as our childhood and what made us who we are. So it's cr. That's a crazy responsibility to have.
A
The pressure is insane. Someone once told me, just remember, when you speak to your children, that is going to be their inner voice as adults. Yes, I went, thank you for reminding me. Their pressure is not enough already to raise good children, smart children, curious children. I always say, like, right now, like, my son is, we have one that's three and a half, one that just turned five. And it's such a tricky time because they're both so curious, and they wanted that. Why they want to know about everything, questions about everything. But also they're testing their boundaries and limits. And like my son the other day said to me, goes, mom, you're always so mean to me. You're always telling me what to do. And I, like, got so emotional, I had to, like, walk away because I went, that is not what I want to do. But at the same time, it's like, how do you find the balance of teaching your kids what's right and wrong and what smart? Because, you know, we like to not say good or bad. It's what's smart and not smart decisions. It's like, everything has to be so intentional. Or like, we try to be intentional about everything that we're doing, but also allow allowing them to still be kids and allowed them to, like, make mistakes so they can learn on their own to have fun, to not stunt that, like, growth and curiosity.
B
It's so hard My oldest. My oldest hit me with a you're so mean. She doesn't on a semi regular basis, like if I ask her not to do something or, or I'll say like that doesn't feel like a good choice. She will say, you're so mean. And I'm like, am I mean or am I? And she'll go, trying to keep me safe.
A
Safe.
B
And I'm like, thank you so much for understanding the difference. So all the. Like on a regular basis we have conversations about like the the reason mom says no often times is to keep you or your sisters safe because sometimes it's that I'm asking you not to launch yourself off the couch when your sister's doing tummy time in the middle of the living room. You know, like it just the math is mathing on that one. I cannot thank you enough for coming on today. This has been been such a blast and it is such an honor to get to talk to you. Running Point Season 2 is streaming now on Netflix. Go check it out. Thank you so much.
