Welcome back to the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast. I'm your host, Amanda Hirsch, and I
Claire Holt
still can't believe that I get to
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
chat with some of my favorite stars on my very own podcast, where you'll feel like you're just talking shit with your best friends in your living room.
Amanda Hirsch
Hey, guys. Happy Tuesday.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Welcome back to Not Skinny Without Fat. I'm your host, Amanda. I'm. I don't know. I think I'm, like, allergic or something's going on because I'm, like, congested again. But I love just, like, talking to you guys like, you're my mom. Like, literally. But in case you're like, you sound stuffy. I wonder what's going on, Amanda. So I'm telling you, like, I think it's allergies. But isn't it funny when you say that and, you know, you're a person that doesn't get allergies, but you're like, it's probably allergies, and people are like, oh, you're allergic to what? Like, and you're like, I don't know. The weather changing. So maybe it's just changing weather. Anyway, I'm recording this on Friday, and it is Tuesday today. If you're listening on Tuesday, when the pod comes out. And that means that I'm 38 years old, which freaks me out. To say that right now that it's been my birthday when it hasn't yet. Like, that gives me, like, bad juju. Like, I'm just like, okay, let's take it back. I didn't just say that. You know what I mean? Like, let it happen. Like, I don't want to. You know, I'm very superstitious when it comes to that. But, yes, if you're listening on Tuesday, it means that it has been my birthday. And I just want to know that. Like, I. I feel like I haven't talked about my birthday. I haven't been like, it's almost my birthday. I haven't posted the meme that I usually post. That's like, I've been waiting for all of May for it to be the end of May. So it's my birthday because I feel like I didn't feel that this year. Now, I think I said this somewhere, but, like, I wanted to say that and, like, post them. You and be like, it's so weird. Like, I don't feel that this year, but then I thought people would think that I'm, like, into getting older or, like, being one more year older. And I'm like, that's not my vibe at all. Like, I'm super, super happy to turn 38. And I think it's young and chic and great. I just maybe, like, calm down about my birthday, like, which can come with growing the up. So, yes, so I feel like I grew the up that I calmed down about my birthday. But. So that's what I thought. Okay, that's what I thought. And then I think I've talked to you guys about this before, but the way it's been done kind of in my family, and this was inherited to my husband and all of our husbands in the fam is that, like, my family has always, like, planned birthdays for the person that's having a birthday. The person that it's their birthday just waits to see, like, what are you going to do for my birthday? And, like, their years, you're going to be blown away, and you're going to be surprised by presents and maybe a little trip upstate or whatever it is. And there are years where you're like, okay, we're going out to brunch. That was the big fudgeing surprise. So I think, like, every year, the past couple of years, I've been saying, enough with the shit. Like, let me just, like, I want to take the control back and, like, decide what I'm doing for my birthday and, like, tell you guys. And if you guys want to then, like, surprise with something, you can. But I want to know that, like, I have control over one thing that's happening during this huge holiday, and I've been saying that I'm going to do that. And then this year, husband, I have both birthdays in May, so we always kind of discuss, like, kind of like, you know, what we're going to do. He fell into the thing of surprises, too. So, like, I surprised him, he surprised me. But this year we were like, let's just, like, be chill and, like, may, like, let's do a trip together or, like, do a trip with the kids or whatever. And then, like, time started approaching anyway, and I was like, yeah, I want to do, like, at least, like, a night like me and you. Like, even, like, upstate somewhere, like, somewhere drivable. And then when I come with the idea a couple weeks ago, like, let me, like, I looked into what's called wildflower farms, I think Wildflower farms. I was like, okay, like, let's go this night. And then I tell my sister. She's like, we have something planned that day. And then I tell my husband. I was like, I Don't care if they have something planned. Like, if it's a brunch, like, I want to go for a night. And he's like, let me talk to Arielle about it. And I'm like, g, everyone's being fishy and weird. So, like, I can't schedule this because something else is happening. And now I'm upset, like, from not caring about my birthday. I'm like, I'm pretty upset. Not because I'm, like, pre disappointed. I'm sure it'll be fine, but because, like, I didn't do what I said I was gonna do. And what I said I was gonna do was, like, plan my own birthday. Know what I'm going to do?
Amanda Hirsch
It does.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You know, you change as a person. And now I don't like the feeling of not knowing and not having control. Like, let me have control. Let me say, like, I know what I'm doing on my birthday. On Friday, I'm going here, I'm going to go to a spa on Saturday. Like, when I feel like I've been saying the last couple of years, I'm going to change this shit up and I'm going to take it in my own hands. And I didn't take in my own fudgeing hands like I was going to, but it was too late or some fudgeing shit. Anyway, I'm not pretty upset.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay?
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I'm. I'm a little pretty upset. I'm already like, if it's a fudgeing brunch, shots will.
Amanda Hirsch
Will be.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I will say husband's very good at gifts. Like, last year, he got me the Balenciaga City bag. The year before that, like, a ring, concierge diamond bracelet. Like, year before that, like, Cartier bracelet. Like, everything nice I have is, like, things that were either gifted or husband bought me for my birthday. And him knowing alone, like, I've never pointed to a thing. I've never said a thing. He just, like, knows that kind of like, if your husbands need help, come to husband, okay? Because he got the gift giving around me, I'm the opposite for him. I do not know what to get him as a gift. He's such a specific guy that if you get him a shirt with, like, the pocket on the left side and on the right, like, he doesn't want it. So I don't with that. Anyway, how is everybody? I hope everybody's doing well. Last week was a crazy week because of Summer House reunion part one, I think. I mean, I said this on my story and I talked about it.
Amanda Hirsch
Already.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
But just in short, a short little recap review is like, yes, it was insane. Now I'm mad that like was leaked, right? Because like we like knew a lot of what was coming and I think we knew like the craziest parts. Not I guess, the part where Sierra calls her weak and meek and not the part where Amanda says off to Sierra, which was wild. But I talked about this Mia saying you're one of west side. Like it's crazy to me. Like I feel like that's such a spot on thing and like there is no world in which they're like gonna end up together. Like Kyle and Amanda staying together was. I believe that over a Wes and Amanda seriously dating. Like he's not a serious guy. Like, you know what I mean? Like he's just not, he's not there in his life. He's like, seems like one of those like you know, just bachelors forever. But I will say I did get a message I wanted to read to you guys and I feel like people that know me know this about me, but somebody wrote to me, you always defend whoever is getting annihilated. You are so consistent with it and I admire it and think it's necessary for conversations. You have always, always, always defended everyone and give everyone a chance and stick up for the mental health of it all, blah, blah, blah. So, and this person doesn't agree with me. She then said, and I am the
Claire Holt
polar opposite of you.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I want to cut their heads off. So why I appreciated this is because I know there's a lot of conversation where people are saying like, maybe people weren't as mad at Ariana and she was way fucking harsher. First of all, I do always feel for the person getting attacked because I just from being a person on the Internet, I can imagine what that feel, you know, when you're like, I can't imagine, like I can imagine what that feels like, you know what I mean? So I know that like it would put me over the edge. Like I, you know, it, it would not be good for my mental health whatsoever. So you know the minute to me that nobody like murdered anybody. And when it was scandal and when it's now, I've always been like, let's calm the down. Like I had sandoval on the podC. I was telling people to like calm down re Raquel. When Ariana told her Raquel nothing short of like go kill yourself. I did not approve of that at all. So I am treating both of these situations and I mean guys, I'm like Team Blake Lively. I was like, team Amber Heard. Like, I do have a soft spot for when people are getting annihilated. I don't like to jump that train. And maybe I'm wrong. Maybe I should have jumped all the trains. Maybe I should have been more harsh on Sandoval. Maybe I should have watched the trial and turned on Amber Heard and called her poop or whatever everyone was saying. But that is my instinct. I'm just talking personally as a person, to not jump to the defense because I'm not defending what they're doing, but just to show a little more compassion and not say, like, they deserve everything they're going to get, like, run them down on the street. And also I'm taking things like, proportionately, like, yes, it's an awful thing. Cheating is awful. Like, all that shit is awful. But it happens in life and it happens on reality TV and off reality tv and it is not a crime. And you're not going to go to jail. You're just a shitty person and a shitty friend. And that relationship with the person you heard is not going to happen. And probably other people won't want to be in relationships with you, friends or otherwise, because you betrayed people. You lied, you betrayed. You did something awful. You did something unimaginable to your best friend who was there for you. I mean, again, I don't know if they were best friends, but shocking things that came out of the reunion were that to me that Amanda wasn't like answering Sierra to hang out. She was just hanging out at west and like, literally dodging her invites to hang out. I loved hearing how like direct Sierra was with the text messages being like, where the were you? Let me know if I'm gonna find anything out. Let me know if there are videos or photos to corroborate this. Like, she was like, she was like straight on, let me the know. So back to like the anger or not anger of, you know, Ariana or Sierra. I don't think Sierra was too harsh. I just think that sentence where she said she was weak and meek. And when Amanda started crying, I know why Amanda started crying. Because, like, having the person that used to say all these, like, great things to you is saying now the opposite probably made her feel like, okay, the only person that was ever saying these uplifting things to me actually thinks this of me and that's why it hurt her. So I think, like, when Kyle said it was harsh and then Sarah was like, that's not my wife. Which, like, touche, that's true. Is like, that's like, you know, below the belt kind of thing. But obviously what Amanda did. Sierra is beyond below the belt. It's at the toes.
Amanda Hirsch
But.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
But I did think it would be like, cool. Not that she's. Sierra is not the coolest person alive. Like, she doesn't need my input to be cool, but it would just be like, to be more like, I don't give a fudge. Like, Wes, I don't give a fuck about you. Like, I don't your on the floor. Like, you know, and now that I'm thinking about it, I wish she like, was more harsher on Wes. Like, why was Amanda taking the brunt of the shit? You know what I mean? I just feel like again, the woman is getting the. The load of it. And yes, it makes sense. She was Sierra's friend. Sierra has low expectations in west, but Sierra was also like in love with west and that's the bottom line of all of this. Like, she was so in love with this guy. And that's what annoyed me about him the most, is like he was trying to downplay that relationship. Like, oh, we had one sleepover, two. Babe, you should have said my whole relationship with Sierra was based on flirting, physical closeness, like touchy feeliness. Like, don't try to act like it wasn't. Don't try to act like. And by the way, I have tea for you. Or I think I've said this before, but let's reiterate. What I know for sure is that when I had my event with threads in December and all of them came, I know that Amanda and Kyle hadn't announced yet, but something was definitely going on because they like arrived, I think separately and weren't sitting together and it was like a whole thing. However, west and Sierra were super close that night. They went out after with Kyle to Amanda, went home. I was there. Like, they were super close. So if they hooked up that night, I wouldn't be surprised. This was in December. So what I'm saying is I believe the timeline rews and Amanda that they started in the end of February because end of December, I believe he was still hooking up with Sarah. He was seeing her now with Sierra allowing this behavior from this man who fucked her over three fucking times. And you know, said to her, he said in September that he's not going to go in that route and he doesn't want to hurt her again. And I mean, listen, we all have been there where we fell for the guy that we shouldn't be and we let ourselves be A situationship for way fucking too long, but that's what that was. Which is why maybe I feel like Sierra couldn't point her anger towards west because it's like, I'm a situation, Jeff. Like, what do you mind me for? Like, I've always been a piece of shit. So she is mad at Amanda because Amanda is the one that knows, like, how in love with him she is. But I do think, like, if Amanda and Wes are fudgeing in love against all odds and they just couldn't resist it, then come in fudgeing strong, okay? Come and saying, we are in love. This happened. We love you guys so much. We hope you can forgive us one day at our wedding with our children. Like, that's how I feel. I've said it before. If you're gonna blow up your life, blow up your life for a reason. But sometimes you don't. I mean, Olivia Wilde blew up life
Amanda Hirsch
with Jason Sudeikis for Harry Styles.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Are they still together? No. Harry Styles is going to marry Zoe Kravitz, and Olivia Wilde moved on. And you know what?
Amanda Hirsch
Maybe it's for the best.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Maybe Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis weren't meant to be. You know, maybe she was supposed to have this extravaganza with Harry Styles. Like, your life goes in a certain way and maybe it'll work out. Maybe this is what it took for Amanda to finally leave Kyle. And, like, maybe, you know, this is what it took for Sierra to blow up and be the star that she deserves to be. I believe in that. I think everyone will live. And that's why I think we need to take it less seriously. It's awful, but let's move the fog on. Obviously, I'm still excited to see part two and three in the reunion and be jaw dropped when, I mean, the lack of remorse continues. I just don't know, you guys. When I said, like, act like, if you were like, why would you want them to act like it? Let them be who they are. Of course I want them to be who they are, but I'm like, if you're really numb and you actually don't give a shit, then, like, you know, the world expects you to give a shit. So, like, please act like you give a shit. Like, how the fudge are you sitting there and acting like you did nothing wrong? Like, it's so beyond to me. And I just know that the reason why Amanda came in like, heated on Sierra is because it's been three weeks since the rumors and the announcement and she's being Kind of like Wes, where West hated Sierra for people hating him. And I think Amanda and Wes probably both were kind of like being bitter about, like Sierra's success and people loving her and dying over her. And they are just taking it out on her, you know what I mean? That they're getting on and she's getting hyped up. So they came in angry at her, which is a wild concept. Anyway, let's move on to today's pod. I don't usually have repeat guests unless they are friends. Unless I love them so much and can't wait to catch up with them again. And that's my girl. Today it is. Mandy Moore is here for the second time. We've been through so much, me and Mandy Moore. If you're an og, you know that I was once blocked by her. Yes, I will. Was. We tried to get to the bottom of it in our first podcast and now she's back for her second time on the pod. She has a new movie by Nate Barazi. So bad with last names, but got good after I discovered him through this movie. And now I'm obsessed with his stand up. Like, I know I'm so late, but like, I think he's so funny. So he has a new movie called Red Winner and Mandy Moore plays his wife in the movie and she's back here to talk about that and everything else that she's up to in her life. It's just good to sit down with like an old friend, you know, a new friend, because I was once blocked by her. But enjoy my catch up with my girl, Mandy Moore.
Amanda Hirsch
Rolling, rolling. She's back.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, I'm back.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. Here we go. Yeah. What were you even here for last time? Do you remember Dr. Death, right?
Mandy Moore
Yeah. 2023.
Amanda Hirsch
And it was. I wouldn't forget it because it was like, Mandy Moore back to work six weeks postpartum.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. With Ozzy. Yeah. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
I went right back to work and I was. Couldn't believe it because you were.
Mandy Moore
You were pregnant. Newly pregnant.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
I don't even know if you'd announced it yet or maybe you had just announced.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Or something. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
December 2023. Yeah, I was pregnant.
Mandy Moore
When's he. When's his birthday?
Amanda Hirsch
He was born June. So I was pregnant.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, you were pregnant for sure.
Amanda Hirsch
And you became pregnant five minutes later.
Mandy Moore
Five minutes later. I was like, wait, Amanda's pregnant? Let me go home now.
Amanda Hirsch
Because I think you even said on my pod, like, I can't remember how you said it, but you said something like, it may be Complete.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, maybe.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
But I think in the back of my mind, I always knew, being one of three, that, like, I was very open to that possibility.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
And the universe was like, yep, we got you.
Amanda Hirsch
Were you talking about it with Taylor? Cause I'm sure, like, maybe you've seen me.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I'm like, no, no, no.
Amanda Hirsch
Have a therap.
Mandy Moore
Do I have a therap?
Amanda Hirsch
Can't shut up about it. Like, were you in that state of mind talking about it?
Mandy Moore
Yeah, because very candidly, I had done a round of ivf. I was like, okay, if we want to. I had the extreme privilege of being able to, you know, get pregnant and carry both of my boys. And I thought, you know, I'm getting older, and I would love to maybe have a tiny bit more space, potentially, between if we are going to have a third. So I did a round of IVF and it was unsuccessful. We didn't get any viable eggs, no embryos. So. So I was like, okay, well, this just settles that. Like, if this is something that's meant to be, it will happen naturally. Otherwise, I am so grateful and so happy with these two guys, and our family will be complete if that's. If that's the way it's supposed to unfold. And then. Yeah. And then Lou just had to show up.
Amanda Hirsch
And she. She.
Mandy Moore
And she showed up very, very surprisingly. We were not trying, but obviously we were open to it because of the. The IVF of it all. It was like a third was.
Amanda Hirsch
Can I ask you. You did ivf? Did you need to do it?
Mandy Moore
Like, I only was doing it as an insurance policy. I was like, okay, so perhaps we can get an embryo. Oh, like, keep that embryo on ice. Like.
Amanda Hirsch
Like the freezing eggs, I mean.
Mandy Moore
Oh, okay.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Okay.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay.
Mandy Moore
Yep.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Right.
Amanda Hirsch
Because when people say freezing eggs, that includes going through ivf, basically. Oh, I got you.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
So we did one round of IVF of freezing eggs, and it just didn't work. And so I was like, okay, I am totally satisfied with. I tried that. And really grateful again that I have my boys. And if this is meant to be, it will. It'll happen.
Amanda Hirsch
So what is the difference between lou and Ozzy?
Mandy Moore
23 months.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay. Because you just said you wanted to give a little bit more. That's not a lot of time.
Mandy Moore
That's not a lot of time. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
That's not.
Mandy Moore
I had three kids in three and
Amanda Hirsch
a half years, and look at that.
Mandy Moore
Oh, you're sweet.
Amanda Hirsch
Did it even take a toll?
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Emotionally, I feel like I'm still recovering. I Mean, sure, you know, it definitely does. I do feel lucky that I, I think energetic. Like, pregnancy was very easy for me. I didn't suffer from any sort of postpartum symptoms and stuff. So, like, I, I. I feel like I had a relatively easy journey, all things considered.
Amanda Hirsch
Didn't you have to have unmedicated births?
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
For Lou, too?
Mandy Moore
Not for Lou. So for Lou, I went on steroids the last week to raise my numbers. Cause I have something called thrombocytopenia, which is, like, where your blood doesn't clot. It's like a clotting disorder that only really affects me in pregnancy or could potentially cause, like, if you bleed out or something during delivery, it's hard for your blood to clot. So that was. I initially wanted to have, like, a home birth, and that was not gonna be in the cards for me because of that. And that's how I found out I actually had this. This itp. So, yeah. So the first two boys were unmedicated. And then with Lou, I was like, well, because my numbers, my. My platelets had dropped so far down that the doctor was like, just in case anything happens, and let's say you have to have, like, an emergency cesarean. Let's, like, use the steroids to get your numbers up. And they went up above the threshold where I could get an epidural. So I had an epidural with her,
Amanda Hirsch
and it was a dream.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
I am a big proponent of, like, any way that a woman gives birth is, like. Is heroic on a level that men could never.
Amanda Hirsch
Men could never.
Claire Holt
Men could never.
Amanda Hirsch
I should have got you a T shirt.
Mandy Moore
Men could never understand. But I will say the epidural was a delight. I was like, were you pushing that thing?
Amanda Hirsch
You're like, well, I wasn't pushing it
Mandy Moore
up, but I was like, oh, this is like. She just, like, sort of flew out.
Amanda Hirsch
And you have something to compare it to.
Mandy Moore
I did, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Unless you blacked out and.
Mandy Moore
No, I didn't black out. I remember both of those very distinctly. But yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
And of course, of course, the girl came out. The girl came out, like, less difficult.
Mandy Moore
Yes.
Amanda Hirsch
And what is it like, like having boys and now a girl? Like, is it everything they say, like, easier sleeps, all those things?
Mandy Moore
I have to say the boys were relatively easy. As you have the experience with the second is, for the most part, it's going to be easier because you're a better parent. You, like, you know what you're facing. There aren't as many, like, unknowns. I think you're a Lot calmer. The first is more of a guinea pig.
Amanda Hirsch
Like.
Mandy Moore
And so the second was easier. And so inherently, I think the third is gonna be easier as well, just. Cause you're like. You're bringing that energy to this. This third experience. But it's hard to tell at this juncture. She was. She's been an incredible eater and sleeper, but the boys both were as well, so it's like. I don't know. She. I will say she, like, definitely is. Has her boundaries. Like, boy, the boys are pretty. Like, affectionate. Like, aggressively affectionate with her. Sometimes, like, they just want to kiss her. And. And she is. She'll be like, no, no, no, no, no. Like, she knows how to claim her space.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I love it.
Mandy Moore
Which is very sweet, but I know you're on the fence about.
Amanda Hirsch
I know. That's why I'm like, I'm so gonna. I'm like, I'm a baby.
Mandy Moore
I'm a baby pusher, though, so I'm gonna. I'm gonna push.
Amanda Hirsch
Really? Yeah.
Mandy Moore
During the pod. Yeah. I mean, I'm just like, look, what's one more.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay, so you were talking about travel, because we were talking about, like, being able to. Now you're traveling for press, so it's like, really nice and fancy and. And whatever. And then with kids, fancy is like,
Mandy Moore
anytime you're not traveling with children.
Amanda Hirsch
I know.
Mandy Moore
I'm like. I can read a book. I can watch something. Like. Yeah. It's amazing.
Amanda Hirsch
And with. Okay, so three kids. Like a hotel room.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
What do you do?
Mandy Moore
Well, baby sleeps in the pack and play. And the boys, like, share a bed with us. They're, like, in between us.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. I know. It's. It is different.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
I feel like the car, like, you order. Surprising situation.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
The what?
Mandy Moore
The car was the most surprising situation because.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay, you could get a third row.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
But then you're abroad. You need to order a car.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I don't know.
Claire Holt
Car.
Amanda Hirsch
Car. I mean, it's just. I feel like, yeah, that's for such
Mandy Moore
a minimal amount of time. I just. I. Again, I'm one of three.
Amanda Hirsch
You know, we should talk.
Claire Holt
Claire Holt.
Amanda Hirsch
I feel like you guys have the same. She's also. She's such a baby pusher.
Mandy Moore
I love Claire. She's my favorite.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
We work together.
Mandy Moore
I know Claire very well, and the fact that she has three kids now just, like, makes me.
Amanda Hirsch
And she's, like, probably debating a fourth somewhere.
Mandy Moore
If anyone's gonna have a fourth of her. Her and Hillary. It's like the two of them are just like, there are certain women that are so made to inherently, like, embrace the chaos and not be flustered by it.
Amanda Hirsch
Do you get.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I can't picture you flustered.
Mandy Moore
I'm not flustered. But I also know that, like, three is my limit. Like, I'm really. If I were younger and I could space it out more, I would potentially be. My husband is like, are you actually insane?
Amanda Hirsch
I can't believe that you're even saying a potential. If I loud, like, in a different
Mandy Moore
world, if a little differently. I mean, he's snip, snip. That's not a possibility for us anyway.
Amanda Hirsch
Like, yeah. Oh, damn. First of all, I love the active sex life because, like, a baby by surprise, he has to snip snip.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
To not do it again.
Mandy Moore
I love a snip snip and iud. It's like, I do. We are.
Amanda Hirsch
Why do you need an IUD also?
Mandy Moore
But the IUD help with, like, the bleed. I had very heavy flow.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. The IUD really helped.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, okay. Yeah, yeah.
Mandy Moore
And you can only just, like, TMI so much.
Amanda Hirsch
You can do it. No, I mean, these are all ladies.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
But you can do an ID only after you're done having kids, right?
Mandy Moore
No, no, no. You could do it in between.
Amanda Hirsch
You can do it in between.
Mandy Moore
Absolutely. Like, in between. I feel like each baby, my doctor was like, do you want. I was like, no, I think I'm okay.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
But, yeah, this time, knowing that, I was very grateful and very much done, I was like, I would love to control my flow a little bit. It was so heavy. Like, you.
Amanda Hirsch
My flow.
Mandy Moore
Post baby.
Amanda Hirsch
My flow isn't crazy.
Mandy Moore
Oh, man.
Amanda Hirsch
My flow isn't crazy. My period. I'm the girl that, like, everyone tells me, like, you're always on your period. Which I hate that it feels that way. But it might be because I talk about it, like, every time I get my period, I announce it. There's the week before that. I'm like, it's happening, everybody.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
It's coming.
Mandy Moore
But, yeah, you feel when you're ovulating,
Amanda Hirsch
like, you do all those things you get, like. Because. I don't know. I can't picture you, like, the way I'm raging the week before my period. Like, do you rage? Like, do you get upset?
Mandy Moore
I think in my own way. Yeah. I can tell that, like, it's coming because I'm like, oof. I just feel, like, a little more, like, ticked off about things. Like, things that wouldn't normally get under my skin. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, yeah, exactly. Where you're like, why is this pissing me off so much? I saw somewhere, which I. I hadn't heard this before, that was it giving birth to Lou, that the doctor was on his phone.
Mandy Moore
No, that was Gus, the first doctor.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Wait.
Amanda Hirsch
But I never heard this story before.
Mandy Moore
I don't know why. I guess I just told it on the podcast. I thought I had, but. So I wanted to have a home birth. So I was, like, pregnant during COVID and I had a midwife. So I was, like, hoping to have a home birth. Like, Hillary is a very good friend of mine. She's had, like, three home births and water births. I know. She's like, another level of superhuman. And I was like, that sounds amazing. Like, I think that is definitely for me. And so I was planning my whole pregnancy to have this home birth. I had, like, my. Like, I had the kit all the time. The pool delivered. The pool was delivered and everything. And about a month before I was due to deliver, I got my blood tested, and we had realized that my. My platelet levels had been dropping throughout pregnancy. And then it kind of like, if it's under a certain threshold, you're not allowed to do a home birth, and you have to have a hospital. Hospital birth. So I had to, at the last minute, switch teams. Oh, and my midwife found a. Like, at that time, the only midwife that delivers at Cedars, and she had to have a doctor backup. So in my mind, I was still, like, going in and having this, like, midwife help me deliver my baby, which is what I really wanted. But of course, what else do you expect with, like, a, like, chauvinistic male doctor? Like, he, at the last minute, like, kind of, like, took over and, like, sidelined the midwife and was there for when I was, like, pushing and, like, in the middle of contractions. And he was one of those, like, doctors that, like, probably shouldn't be practicing anymore, truth be told. Like, he was older and jaded, and, you know, you're scared. And I'm also, like, an intense people. Please. So in the middle of this, like, labor took a long. I labored at home for a long time. Then I finally went to the hospital and had been there, like, all night, and now it's finally, like, I don't know, like, 11 o' clock or something in the morning, and I'm pushing, and I remember distinctly, like, I had the rebozo, like, the thing I was, like, pulling. Had my foot on, like, the bar, like, pulling myself up to, like, with contractions. And, like, pushing. And I looked, and the guy was just, like, scrolling on cnn, like, on his phone while I'm pushing. And I was like, okay. Like, I just remember taking mental note of that even in the midst of, like, this anguish, this unmedicated birth. And then I'm, like, in between contractions, and I hear him complaining to the midwife that there's a lobster truck, like, outside Cedars. And this was, like, taking a long time, and he probably wasn't gonna get a lobster roll for lunch. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I'm sorry. You're not gonna get. Like, I felt bad and of course, apologized to him. But, I mean, he was, like, the kind of guy that, like, the baby was delivered, and he, like, goes to my husband, like, you want to cut the cord? And Taylor, like, goes to cut the umbilical cord. He's like, you know what this means? And Taylor's, like, what, thinking he's gonna, like, have some, like, sage, like, bit of wisdom for him. He's like, you gotta buy him a car when he's 16 or something. I was like, really, dude?
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, my God. Wait. I'm so here. I'm sorry. This was, like, the opposite of what you wanted. Yeah, but you wanted, like, a beautiful, healthy.
Mandy Moore
You wanted somebody walking around with Sage, my palo santo.
Amanda Hirsch
And then you got this.
Mandy Moore
This. I know. And everybody's like, that's why I didn't have it. Like, I saw the people in the comments, like, that's why I didn't. I was like, guys, it's. I wanted a home birth, too. Okay? I wanted something totally different.
Amanda Hirsch
No, but you know what's interesting?
Mandy Moore
Because it all unfolds the way it's supposed to, and I got a healthy baby, and that's all I care about.
Amanda Hirsch
But what's interesting to me is, like, isn't, like, a midwife slash a doula. Which I know they're not the same, but aren't. Isn't part of their, like, thing that they, like, know how to advocate for you. And, like, they. Was she just, like, a people pleaser, too?
Mandy Moore
I think she just felt a little sidelined by this guy that he, like, walked in and was like, okay, it's my show. It's my show. You're at the hospital. I'm the doctor. All of that to say. When I got pregnant with my second, I. I found a doctor knowing that, like, you made sure I was going to be giving birth in the hospital again, moving forward. So I found the most incredible doctor, and literally, I was So I just saw her recently and she was like, you sure? You sure you don't want to have another baby? I was like, Dr. Waldman, I would have another baby to hang out with you. Like, I love her so much. Anytime any friends in LA are like, I need a new doctor. I'm like, Dr. Waldman is. She's the great.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, you don't gatekeep. You don't gatekeep.
Mandy Moore
Oh, no, no, no. You have to spread the word for, like, the good people. Like, I'm like, this is. And I actually had a friend, had two friends that delivered with her. But I'm like, you. This is the kind of experience you want. Having a baby. She's the greatest.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. That first one, it's always like, touch and go, touch and go. And you learn, you learn, and you live and learn.
Mandy Moore
I knew I know what I want moving forward and I know how to
Amanda Hirsch
set it all up.
Mandy Moore
Redemptive births after that.
Amanda Hirsch
I'm happy for you.
Mandy Moore
Thank you.
Amanda Hirsch
We'll be right back after the break.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)

good at taking my Nutrifol because I'm vain and not as good at taking other supplements and Nutrafol.
Claire Holt
I just, like, it was proven to me.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Do you get what I mean? Like, I feel like vitamin D. How
Claire Holt
are you going to prove to me that you worked? You get what I'm saying? Like, Nutrival proved that it worked because
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I started taking it pretty late after I had Noah. Like, after I had the hair thinning and the shedding and whatever, I was like, oh, my God. And I saw people posting about neutrophil,
Claire Holt
and that's when I started kind of using it.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
And then I was like, oh, my God. Regrowth. Amazing. Like, we're filling out great. And then when I got pregnant with Lenny, I heard about the postpartum formula and knew that you could start taking it right away because it's breastfeeding friendly. And I was like, that's my plan. I'm going to get on that.
Claire Holt
And I really do feel like it
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
combated that kind of what I went through with Noah with a lot of the thinning and shedding that was going on. Like, I was like, wait, did I negate the situation with just hopping on the postpartum formula right after giving birth?

As a mom, I really don't have time to like be a supplement girly
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
with a whole cabinet of powders.
Amanda Hirsch
Like, I can't drink thousands of drinks a day to put the thousands of powders for the different freaking things that people are. So when I found out that Parallels Protein has protein, fiber and creatine all in one scoop, I was like, oh my God, thank God this is made for me.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)

You know, like, your body of work is so crazy and. And just classic after classic. And I was thinking about Because I said so with Diane Keon. First off, you haven't seen because I said so and once isn't enough. And if you haven't seen it with your whole family or with your mom
Mandy Moore
or you have sisters.
Amanda Hirsch
Right. For us, it's like such a special movie and so, like, kind of our mom to, like, be meddling and be like, I'm not mad. You know what I mean? Like, I'm not.
Mandy Moore
Because she loves you so much.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
So sweet.
Amanda Hirsch
What are your memories?
Mandy Moore
Somebody, like, I can't believe that she's gone. She just felt like this eternal, magical spirit that was always gonna be there. Like. Like she didn't age or something. I think back to how deeply maternal she was on the movie too. Like, she really did feel like your mom for a couple months. Like, I got to have this second mom and this, like, lifetime of love that she poured into each of us, and she's just. Yeah, she was something else.
Amanda Hirsch
And you got that experience that's so special, like, that you got to play her daughter.
Mandy Moore
I feel like there are a few of us in that camp, and I know Kim Paisley, who was her daughter and father of the bride, and we talked about that too. Like, she's just. She is one of one Diane. And, like, yeah, I just like to have that career, to have that longevity and for everyone to speak so similarly about her as a human and as an artist. Like, she just. Like, that's what you ascend to. Like, I hope to ascend to in terms of having that kind of legacy follow you around. And also, like, the fashion was always so singular as well.
Amanda Hirsch
So singular.
Mandy Moore
She would show up to work at 6 in the morning and, like, hair and makeup. And literally, like, I think she was the character. Like, most of those clothes had to have been her.
Amanda Hirsch
I was just.
Mandy Moore
It was like, the big belt and the skirt and the boots and the gloves and the hat.
Amanda Hirsch
Right. That was her.
Mandy Moore
It was all her, like. And she would show up to work that way.
Amanda Hirsch
Just like, I wonder if she was styled or if she.
Mandy Moore
I'm sure she had a lot of influence in how the character looked.
Amanda Hirsch
And also, like, now we know the guy that played. You're a dude. That's the suits guy.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Gabriel. Gabriel Mox. Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Such a cutie.
Mandy Moore
So cute.
Amanda Hirsch
And later he went on to become Harvey. Yeah, yeah.
Mandy Moore
But we do know that he's iconic on that show.
Amanda Hirsch
We do know. We know.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. It's like, we know.
Amanda Hirsch
That's my, like, trait.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
What.
Amanda Hirsch
What sign are you?
Mandy Moore
Aries.
Amanda Hirsch
In Aries? I wonder. For. I feel like for Gemini, it's true that, like, I could talk about something so intensely and, like, not actually know
Mandy Moore
what you're talking about. You're a great bullshitter. I love it.
Amanda Hirsch
I'm like, withering heights like this and that. Have you seen it?
Mandy Moore
No, no, no, no. But I bought it. I believed it.
Amanda Hirsch
I believe.
Mandy Moore
Totally sold.
Amanda Hirsch
I love it. Whatever. Whatever they're doing. And, you know, this is us. I did watch, by the way. That was my show, you know, where I saw somewhere someone saying, like, someone wondering. I can't remember if it was in a comment, but, like, if it ever annoyed you that Jack got so much love. Like, the character, not the actors. Right.
Mandy Moore
Sure, sure.
Amanda Hirsch
And, like, Rebecca, I feel like she
Mandy Moore
had her flowers at the end.
Amanda Hirsch
At the end.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. It's like the show sort of ended up being this love letter to Dan, our creator's mother. And he lost his mother, like, tragically, like, at a young age. And I think the show started out with people feeling like, Jack is the superhero. He is. He will forever loom large because he passed away in such a tragic manner. And the kids were so young. And they carried that grief with them, obviously, for the rest of their lives. But, yeah, she was sort of the unsung hero in the end of the glue of the family that held it all together. And moms tend to be that, you know, get.
Amanda Hirsch
Right. You're right.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. They tend to be the.
Amanda Hirsch
Not get the glory.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Not like, not get the glory.
Mandy Moore
Not get the glory, but they are the glue.
Amanda Hirsch
Not get the glory, but they are the glue. That's so true. And you're still, like, so together. You're Doing a pod, right? That was us.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, that was us. I get to do with Chris and Sterling like, once a month, so I get to see those guys, like, often. And I love them, I feel.
Amanda Hirsch
And Sterling is killing it.
Mandy Moore
Sterling is, like, right now, he's the best. There's truly no one better, no one more deserving, no one that works harder. Like, it's. He's just. He's also one of one.
Amanda Hirsch
Do you guys try to talk about, like, if you could do something else together?
Mandy Moore
I'm trying to get him. So I. He's finishing paradise right now. I just finished the Land, which is Dan's new show.
Amanda Hirsch
Is that. That the thing?
Mandy Moore
The football thing?
Amanda Hirsch
I know, but is that what all the fancy outfits that you do? Okay, I was wondering.
Mandy Moore
This is a boss.
Amanda Hirsch
That's where you started getting like this.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
She's like. She's in the room, and she's in Kate, and she's like, in fancy.
Amanda Hirsch
I know you. That was giving you the. The.
Mandy Moore
That was giving me life. I'm like, yes, I want to be this woman, but I do not own an NFL team, so I can't shop like this in my real life.
Claire Holt
Okay.
Mandy Moore
But yeah, so we joke about, like, Sterling coming on to, like, be. To on the land when, like, maybe next season he can be a football coach or something like that.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Be back at work.
Mandy Moore
Yes. I love him.
Amanda Hirsch
He's so good, too.
Mandy Moore
He's so good.
Amanda Hirsch
And you just saw Chrissy.
Mandy Moore
Yes. In Nashville.
Amanda Hirsch
She came to the premiere of Breadwinner.
Mandy Moore
She did.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that's sweet.
Mandy Moore
I know. It was like, Nate, whose film it is. He lives in Nashville. He's from Nashville. The movie's set there. So he wanted to have the premiere there. And I was like, who do I know in Nashville?
Amanda Hirsch
Chrissy.
Mandy Moore
Chrissy lives there. So, yeah, it was like a nice little. I got to, like, sit next to her and laugh with her for an hour and a half. It was the best. I love her. I miss her.
Amanda Hirsch
How much don't you miss sitting in makeup for 0%? Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. So our hair and makeup do paradise, so I said they. And we just overlapped. We finished our show on the Paramount lot just as, like, paradise was starting their. Their third season. And so I got to see my friends Michael and Zoe that I worked with for six years, and they were like, do you miss the. The hair?
Amanda Hirsch
I was like, no, I can't imagine. Because, like, I don't like sitting for regular glam.
Mandy Moore
No.
Amanda Hirsch
I get impatient. So I can't imagine, like, it never bothered Me.
Mandy Moore
But I'm happy to be done with it now.
Amanda Hirsch
I'm happy. How many hours was it in the chair?
Mandy Moore
It was three and a half for, like, the present day when she was in her 70s. And then at the end of the show, for, like, the last half of the last season, I had to do play the character, like, in her 80s at the end of her life. And that took five. So that was a whole different ball game.
Amanda Hirsch
And did it feel claustrophobic?
Mandy Moore
It never felt claustrophobic, but for a lot of, like, the fifth season, I was pregnant with Gus. And then the last season, I was pregnant with Ozzy. Like, and nobody really knew. It was, like, towards the end of the show, I was, like, just barely pregnant when you're really. I got real nauseous, like, both all times with pregnancy. So having to, like, lay down and be in the prosthetic, like, aging makeup for hours at a time, I was like, ooh, this is.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, I can't imagine. That is rough.
Mandy Moore
That wasn't fun.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. Yeah. But hashtag worth it.
Mandy Moore
Worth it. No, wouldn't. Yeah, absolutely. Just happy I don't have to do that anymore.
Amanda Hirsch
I know. I know. I was thinking about you because I was looking at your recent headlines.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
And one of them was hair transformation. I love that. It got a whole. It got a whole article about your blonde. That's why I saved the compliment for now news day, because you change your hair a little bit.
Mandy Moore
Changed my hair a little bit. This was for the land.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, okay.
Mandy Moore
This was for work. And then I was like, barb did it.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay, Barb. Shout out, Barb.
Mandy Moore
Barb does hair, everybody. Barb's the best. Barb does hill. I know. I've lost Barb because I've introduced her to all my friends.
Amanda Hirsch
I was thinking, first of all, wait, we're. We're sensing a common theme here.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Mandy Moore.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Does not gatekeep.
Mandy Moore
I don't gatekeep.
Amanda Hirsch
Some things you gotta.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Because what if Barb is not busy with Hillary?
Mandy Moore
Listen, I gatekeep Barb now. Barb doesn't have time for any new clients, so you can follow her. But Barb collars Barb cots. Barb styles. I know, but Barb. Barb, you're not going on tour with Hill, right?
Amanda Hirsch
Wait, okay, she so is. She's always gonna. She's not.
Mandy Moore
She's not. She's just doing the big show. Just the big shows. New York and la.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay, but. But. Okay, so you introduced Barb to Hillary and all and to more famous friends.
Mandy Moore
All. All my girlfriends. Not just, you know, in the public eye. Everybody. Everybody needs some normies in their lives.
Amanda Hirsch
Do glam, you guys.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, normies need. Everybody needs glam. All the ladies.
Amanda Hirsch
No, it's true.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
It really is true.
Mandy Moore
My very good friends. I would never.
Amanda Hirsch
You're sharing and then you're gonna get. That's on you. Don't say no, I'm just kidding.
Mandy Moore
But yes. Yes. The blonde hair. The hair transformation was barb, but it was for work.
Amanda Hirsch
And then.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Do you love it?
Amanda Hirsch
Are you gonna keep it? Are you gonna say a blonde?
Mandy Moore
I think for like a little bit. Just because it took a minute to get here.
Amanda Hirsch
It's like we will ombre vibes.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, it's like a. Yeah, like a.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
But I like.
Amanda Hirsch
It suits you a lot. I mean, you were a blonde. Let us not forget everybody, if not for years.
Mandy Moore
Blonde is not really for me. I feel like this is like a bronze. Yeah, it's a. It's not like a bright blonde as I was back in the day. That doesn't. I don't think that suits me as well.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
But I think we'll probably. I'll go a little darker again. It just. I'll have to go back to this when we start shooting the show again. Whenever that is. So.
Amanda Hirsch
Speaking of Hill, you are really good friends with her and she's. You're, like, ready for me to ask the mom group question. I'm not gonna ask the mom group. I wasn't even gonna do it.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
We've talked about it.
Amanda Hirsch
But I feel like you are just right. You're. I feel. Say it.
Mandy Moore
Here we go.
Amanda Hirsch
I see you. You're amazing. And by the way, I wasn't gonna say that now. I saw you just chatted about it already.
Mandy Moore
I was not prepared for that. I was like, oh, oh, really?
Amanda Hirsch
I did see your eyes there.
Mandy Moore
Because I just feel like slow news day. We've moved beyond that. It's the real non story. And Hill's talked about it and stuff, so I. I wasn't expecting to be asked about it. I guess I should have been prepared.
Amanda Hirsch
Can I just say, like. Like somebody said least even thinking about you that you're not a nice person is the wildest thing, because you are the nicest person that means a lot ever. And I meet people in the industry, like, in the world.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Right.
Amanda Hirsch
We're not just comparing you to industry
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
people in the world.
Amanda Hirsch
But so that is wild. That's like when you hear something that's like just way off filter. Like, that doesn't even Make.
Mandy Moore
But I didn't think what was upsetting about the whole thing is, and I've said this is like this idea that we have to continually like another story that's just pitting women against each other. That women are always, we're not friends, we're frenemies and we're out to be competitive and petty and like, all the things I don't know about you, but, like, I have not felt that one iota since becoming a mom. If anything, like, the friendships that I have made since becoming a parent are the most surprising of my adult life because I, I, I just thought, like my other friends that had kids that were older than me, like, their kids are older. I thought, like, oh, those are just going to be my friends that have moms. Like, I never really contemplated the playgroups that you're in, the classes that you're in. Like, those are the people that you are bonded with.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Like your kids start, you start seeing all the time because your kids are playing with. And those are the snickly, surprising friendships that I have made that I, I feel so close to all of these women. They're, they're, they're life giving to me that, like this misnomer, that like women can't be friends. And also, like, you need to find your community, like we all need and deserve, especially as moms, to find that. Yeah, like, I could not do that without.
Amanda Hirsch
Well, you know what's wild though? I think you have a quote that said somewhere, because I had it in our last interview. I was looking at our last interview.
Mandy Moore
Oh, wow.
Amanda Hirsch
And I was, we were talking about how you were a child pop star or a child making it like a baby.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
A baby or.
Amanda Hirsch
No, like a, you know, you were famous when you were really young. And we kind of talked about you avoiding the, like, you know, what happens to a lot of young famous people and how you didn't get crazy and didn't have crazy rumors. And you said, I just don't think I've ever been interesting enough to have crazy rumors written about me. Maybe one day, maybe one day you fucking manifested it.
Mandy Moore
I made a. This wasn't crazy. This was just ridiculous. And also, like, I think what was also upsetting is that friend, like Hillary and I are used to this.
Amanda Hirsch
Are you, did you become mom friends or were you friends before becoming mom?
Mandy Moore
We were friends before. Well, not before she was a mom, because she is like a 14 year old.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, that's true.
Mandy Moore
But certainly before I became a mom. Yes. And like our husbands are best Friends. Matt and Taylor are best friends, which is funny because Matt is. Is. Is sneakily, like, my favorite follow on social media, by the way.
Amanda Hirsch
Mine too.
Mandy Moore
He's hilarious.
Amanda Hirsch
I know. It's like I'm gatekeeping him too. I feel like I've been following him for years. I didn't tell anybody, and then everyone kind of discovered. Not everyone discovered he had a big following, but I feel like more people are discovering him as the time goes on.
Mandy Moore
I'm, like, made his record with his wife and stuff, but he's missed the
Amanda Hirsch
everyone who's starting to follow him now. What did he do with Tiger Joe? Oh, yeah, he had a whole thing with her.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
You guys missed his drunken. This was the funniest thing on the Internet. Go find it. He got a vasectomy.
Mandy Moore
Oh, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
And he FaceTimed every love is Blind member. While he was doing. While he was. While he was high off the vasectomy drugs.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I don't know how he is.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, I think he Instagram facetimed or whatever.
Mandy Moore
It was the funniest At Matt coma on Instagram.
Amanda Hirsch
It was the funniest thing.
Mandy Moore
It's personality is like, he. He is. Is, like, ridiculously funny and so witty and so smart, but he's also, like, the greatest dad, the sweetest guy. Like, yeah, he and. He and my husband are, like, best, best friends.
Amanda Hirsch
Are they really different? Like, is. Does your husband get, like, silly like that?
Mandy Moore
My husband doesn't get silly like that. I mean, maybe he can hit his group chat. I'm like, who are you talking to, babe? He's in a group chat with Matt and his brother and Christmas plats, and the four of them are just all day, maybe.
Amanda Hirsch
You know how many times I have right here that men are way more, like, on the phone with the friends than women? We're kind of like, turn the butt.
Mandy Moore
It's a buzzer off. It's like.
Amanda Hirsch
And they smile at their phones like they have a. Like they have a mistress.
Mandy Moore
I'm like, we're watching. We're watching something together.
Amanda Hirsch
But no.
Mandy Moore
So we were friends before kids, all of that. To circle back. Hillary pulled me aside. We were, like, at a hotel waiting for our cars in la, as you do. We're, like, waiting at the valet for our cars to be brought around. And she was like, can I just tell you, like, first of all, hi. We hadn't seen each other in years. And she was like, my boyfriend at the time loves your husband. And I was like, oh, my God. Like, Taylor would be so freaked out right now. And she was like, he has brought. He's dragged me to so many Dodge shows. That's my husband's band. She's like, I've seen your husband perform so many times. We have to, like, go out to dinner. It would be my. My boyfriend, and they were just dating at the time, would be so freaked out. And I was like, of course. So we go out to dinner with them. This is like, 2018, 2019. A double date. It was so much fun. We're like, we have to hang out with these. We loved them. And then we. We started hanging out more and more. And then Hillary, when they got engaged, asked Taylor to sing at their wedding, and Taylor sang for their first dance and surprised Matt with that. And we got to go to their wedding, which was beautiful. And then, like, we both got pregnant during COVID and, like, maimay is six weeks younger than Gus. So, like, we, like, we went through. She went through her third pregnancy, and I went through my first pregnancy, like, together. And so, like, I really was able to immediately lean on her.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Like, you've done this twice before. You're on your third. Like, tell me all the things. Like, she's the most locked in, dialed in mom. And so she was the one that kind of, like, welcomed in all these other new moms during the pandemic. So, like, a baby class at her house. We, like, we started with, like, baby music class when our kids were, like, little blobs just laying on. On the grass. And it was so much fun. And so, yes, like, we have become. I have become a mom with her. And she's the best. She's the raddest.
Amanda Hirsch
What is it like watching her fucking explode all over again now?
Mandy Moore
I love it. I'm so excited for her. It's amazing. It's like, no one deserves it more. She's the raddest, the hardest worker, the best mom, the greatest friend.
Amanda Hirsch
Like, and seems like she doesn't know that, like, the world was, like, waiting for it.
Mandy Moore
I know. And that's what makes you want to root for her all the more.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, it's like, I'm so excited. The itch.
Mandy Moore
No, no, no, no, no. Like, I am happy to be a bystander and witness, like, my friend take over the world. I never had a pop career like that.
Amanda Hirsch
Right.
Mandy Moore
And I never aspired to do that. Like, Hill's playing arenas. Like, I want to play a club. I want to play a theater. And I, like, I love making singer songwriter records with my husband. And, like, I don't Like, I've never had that same drive. And I am so excited for her.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
But that's not for me. No.
Amanda Hirsch
We'll be right back after the break.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)

And also, you know that I love a trip that isn't too far, that I can drive, that is on my side of the world, that is on the east coast. And right now, Buffalo is at the top of my list. Okay? Amanda Hirsch
guys, I have been obsessed with my Crocs lately. Like, I feel like crocs and I
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
go way, way back, but we're in
Amanda Hirsch
our, like, hottest era right now.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I can't get enough of my Crocs.
Amanda Hirsch
I cannot get enough of them.
Claire Holt
Especially because I got these new two
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
styles that are are sick. Okay? I got the classic crafted clogs, which are made with 100 soft wash canvas.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay?
Claire Holt
So people couldn't even tell, like, you
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
wear jeans over them. They're like, oh, my God, what are those shoes? And I love that for a minute, they're like, what are they? What are they?
Amanda Hirsch
And I'm like, it's Crocs.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
But I also love their classic buckle
Amanda Hirsch
clog because it has the little holes for the jibbitz and everything like that, but it Gives a really like a
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
nice touch of elegance because of that big buckle on the side.
Amanda Hirsch
And I just, I love Crocs so much.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I just feel like they're like easy,
Claire Holt
slip on, slip off.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I love when I'm like going to
Amanda Hirsch
shoot something and I wear them with
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
jeans and like a white tank on the way there.
Amanda Hirsch
And then I'll change into the heelsies or whatever I need to when I'm like on set.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
But I love my Crocs.
Amanda Hirsch
I love to travel in them.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
I love to walk around the Upper
Amanda Hirsch
east side in them. I love to do school pickups in them. And I just know they're going to
Claire Holt
serve me well all summer. And guess what? They are so cute. They are so cute.
Amanda Hirsch
And they're so comfortable.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
And you can wear them all day
Claire Holt
long and forget you're even wearing shoes.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Like, name a more comfortable shoe. Name Em. Anyway, don't be sleeping on Crocs, okay? I am telling you this and you know I be setting trends.
Amanda Hirsch
Visit crocs.com or a store near you to find your perfect pair of closet clogs. And we're back.
Mandy Moore
We're gonna go see her in Vegas in a couple days.
Amanda Hirsch
In Vegas? Mandy in Vegas. I know.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Do you like Vegas?
Mandy Moore
No.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, me neither.
Mandy Moore
It's not my favorite place.
Amanda Hirsch
So why there? Why, Why'd you choose to see your show there out of any state?
Mandy Moore
Is that because it's gonna be a smaller show? It's like the last little bit of like warm up shows, I think before her big summer tour.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay.
Mandy Moore
And so it'll be fun to like go with all the girls and like have a little girls trip.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that's fun.
Mandy Moore
A little mom's night out. Have some spa, have some good food. Yeah, I know. You'll see, you'll get, you'll get some.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, I'm sure. I love social media content. You've been social media. I feel like your trip to New York. You've been loving the corner store. You're like, you guys, there is a
Mandy Moore
new spot because I'm in old. I'm an old and I live in la. Have you heard of this thing called the corner store? They have martinis there. Guys, it was the greatest martini of my life.
Amanda Hirsch
What was it like cookies and cream. What was that?
Mandy Moore
Sour cream.
Amanda Hirsch
Sour cream. See fatty. I'm like adding cookies to it. No, no. Sour cream martini.
Mandy Moore
A sour cream and onion martini. And they give you a little sidecar of sour cream and onion chocolate order the pizza rolls were great. The lobster roll was great. French Fries. We were saying. It's like, it's a real girls dinner place.
Amanda Hirsch
It's really fun. You know, he has a new spot, like that group the 86 and Oresh, also really good.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Ooh, yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. Next time.
Mandy Moore
I feel like we need something like that in la. Yeah, we don't have anything quite like that.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Right.
Mandy Moore
But yeah, it's like, I. I sound like a dork because I come here and I'm excited. I don't live here, so I'm like, tell me where I'm supposed to go get. Like, I want, like, quintessential, not hot spot sceney stuff necessarily, but, like, I want a good food. I want, like, a good cocktail.
Amanda Hirsch
New York does have. I feel like you guys do it, right?
Mandy Moore
And also, it's like today. Yesterday was like, 85. Like, we're having some, like, a summer burst right now.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
And you, like, everyone is like lizards, like, in no clothes, just soaking it up. And I'm living for that. I love that for you guys.
Amanda Hirsch
I don't. Well, New York isn't meant for this weather. It's like, well, it's coming enough and we don't need the heat with the bus fumes and the light.
Mandy Moore
But that is summer. I know you don't like summer.
Amanda Hirsch
Not. Not. I. I want this weather, but, like, on a beach, I don't want it here. You know what I mean? Yeah, Yeah. I also wanted to ask you. I know the Mandy Moore. Mandy Moore thing has been done and.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
And.
Amanda Hirsch
And died and done, but I saw her go on a podcast and say, the choreographer, Mandy Moore, for those who don't know, and she said that it makes it easier for her to get dinner reservations sometimes.
Mandy Moore
Really?
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Oh, I love that.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
That's so sweet.
Amanda Hirsch
Is it weird for you when you call somewhere and, like, you have such a distinct name and they're like, like, what is this for? And you're like, mandy Moore.
Mandy Moore
I could never do that. I could not drop my own name.
Amanda Hirsch
Wait, what do you say if someone is very.
Mandy Moore
If someone is kind enough to help me get a reservation. Procure one.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
And they have to use my name, but I couldn't. I always go by Amanda because that's my given name.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, right.
Mandy Moore
I just use Amanda Moore.
Amanda Hirsch
Amanda Moore.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Amanda Moore. If I have to, like.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mandy Moore
If I have to, like, make a reservation. Hotel or something like that.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, yeah. Because you feel weird saying it. You don't want them to get, like, too excited.
Mandy Moore
Not that they would get excited, but I don't know. I'm just like, that way. It's.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
What else did she say?
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that you guys were supposed to meet a few times. Multiple times happen.
Mandy Moore
We saw each other at the airport.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. That's what she said. Yep. Where.
Mandy Moore
Where all great meet cutes begin, right? Airport. Yeah. We saw each other on an airplane. It was great. It was like it finally happened.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Claire Holt
Yes.
Amanda Hirsch
I know. Isn't it funny that us as a society, like, we're like the same name. Like, we don't know what to do.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
We leave it it.
Mandy Moore
Well, also, I just feel horrible that I have gotten credit still to this day by so many people. Yeah. They're like, you choreographed the ERAS tour. I'm like, guys, you re look at me. I am the world's worst dancer. That is not my skill set whatsoever. I'm like, that I choreographed it or like, oh, my God. You were on so youo Think youk Can Dance. I'm like, no, that was not me. It's insane. And like, like, I would get emails from like, like agents and stuff that were like, congrats on the Emmy Nom. I'm like, not me. That's the other Mandy Moore.
Amanda Hirsch
That's so funny.
Mandy Moore
For like, some sort of choreography. Emmy for something. I'm like, this is.
Amanda Hirsch
That's hilarious.
Mandy Moore
Poor thing.
Amanda Hirsch
Another thing I. I think is, like, unique, and I hope you know how unique it is. Is I saw that you said that you have, like, extremely close relationship with
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
your mother in law.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
And I was like, I'm sure that you hear horror stories from your friends.
Mandy Moore
Like, sure. And not everybody's so fortunate.
Amanda Hirsch
Right. And it is kind of rare, which, like, I hope I'm not gonna be that kind of boy mom. Yeah, well, I'm not gonna be that
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
kind of boy mom.
Mandy Moore
You're not gonna be.
Amanda Hirsch
That doesn't like the wife, like, from
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
the beginning, no matter what.
Mandy Moore
But they're gonna love you. They're gonna be like, oh, your mom's so cool.
Amanda Hirsch
I'm gonna make sure of it. So I can get in the delivery room.
Mandy Moore
Yes.
Amanda Hirsch
Crazy. Of course I'm getting in there.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
That I'm not gonna be pushed out. No, no, no. Right. I love that you have a girl. I don't, but, yeah, I saw that. And I was like, I know. Like, I hear stories from my friends and.
Mandy Moore
Me too.
Amanda Hirsch
You know? So when I saw that you said that you have a really close friend.
Mandy Moore
I think it's also like my husband and his brother. They're both from la. They're Angelinos, like, native and so they live near us. They used to live very close to us, but post fire, not the case. But I think we. So we were very close to that. We were at their house like every day. And then after the fires, we all lived together for almost nine months.
Amanda Hirsch
Well, you lived with my in laws lived with us.
Mandy Moore
We got a big rental house and we all lived together.
Amanda Hirsch
Their house was also.
Mandy Moore
Their house burned down. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, wow. And Taylor's brother.
Mandy Moore
And Taylor's brother, so. But they just had a baby, so they had to live on. They needed their own space, understandably. But I was like, let's all the rest of us can live together. So my in laws lived with us for almost nine months. And so like every morning I'd get to have coffee with my mother in law and like we'd put the kids down and get to have a glass of wine together. We also got to like grieve and heal and like process the trauma of what we lived through together. And. And I got so used to having her there that then when we moved back and she moved on, I'm like, I don't like this. I love, like, I also like the impromptu dates that we were able to go on. She's like, I got it. I'm like, wait, where does.
Amanda Hirsch
Are they not living next to you anymore?
Mandy Moore
They don't live next to us anymore. They're, they're like across town a little bit. But we're trying to get them to move back across closer to us.
Amanda Hirsch
She liked those date nights.
Mandy Moore
I loved those date nights. I mean, she still is wonderful. And we'll like, we'll put the kids down and then she'll come and like watch the monitor and let Taylor and I go have a date night still. But it was way more convenient for her when she could be in her pajamas and then like go up to her room. So I hope that like that can happen.
Amanda Hirsch
And you lived together for nine months?
Mandy Moore
Nine months.
Amanda Hirsch
So at what point did Hillary and Matthew take you in?
Mandy Moore
Right after the fires.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that was before you got a situation going?
Mandy Moore
Yeah, as we were evacuating, I think. Yeah, there's this misnomer that we were like living with them and we weren't. So as we were evacuating, they had like a house that they use for work. Just like a regular like house out in the valley. And so when we were evacuating, Taylor called Matt cause they're besties and was like, we don't know where to go. He's like, go to go to this house. And so that's where we stayed for like a week. And then they very graciously let my brother in law and sister in law stay there after they had their baby. My. My sister in law was pregnant and was due six weeks after the fires. Gave birth a month early, like two weeks after the fire because of the stress. And so then they lived in that house for the first like two months of his life. Matt and Hill are the best. They're the greatest. And I will love them forever.
Amanda Hirsch
Let's talk about the new movie. It looks so fun. I haven't seen it yet because it's really theater movie, so I didn't get a layer movie. No problem. Yeah. But even the trailer, like, looks so fun. And this is Nate's. I'm not gonna say his last name because I'm not gonna pick it up. That's it.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yep.
Amanda Hirsch
This is his first movie and you're in it. How did it come about?
Mandy Moore
I'm a huge fan of Nate's. I loved all of his stand up. I think I've seen every special on Netflix and I heard through the grapevine that he was doing his first film. And I read the script and was like, I have to be a part of this. Like, it feels like a real throwback to the kinds of family movies that I loved growing up that they just don't make anymore. That like co viewing experience where like mom and dad are gonna get something out of it and the kids. And also this idea. And I'm sure you think about this too. It's like the choices that you're making. I'm like, oh, one day, like my kids will be able to see this and I'd love to do something that they would be excited about, like to
Amanda Hirsch
watch one of your. One of your movies.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
They could be excited about so many though, Mandy.
Mandy Moore
I feel like this will be the first that they'll be able to watch and like, understand.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Because it's like a fun family movie. A lot of like, humor fun.
Mandy Moore
Maybe the Princess Diaries in a couple years.
Amanda Hirsch
Tangled.
Mandy Moore
Tangled. They have watched Tangled. They were sort of.
Amanda Hirsch
Because it's your voice.
Mandy Moore
And I don't think they really understood that I was like Rapunzel. Kind of sounds familiar. Like, meh. Honestly, I joke that like, if I were in cars, that would have like, been a much bigger deal to them.
Amanda Hirsch
But what.
Mandy Moore
So.
Amanda Hirsch
So this movie, you are an entrepreneur.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Go on Shark Tank.
Mandy Moore
Go on Shark Tank. You.
Amanda Hirsch
The. Your husband Nate has to like, take
Mandy Moore
care of the kids.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
So I get offered a deal on Shark tank. Which means that I have to like fly to South Korea for a couple of weeks while they do some like manufacturing and he has to stay home with the kids. And of course I am a type A mom.
Amanda Hirsch
Right.
Mandy Moore
Who's acutely organized and like has everything set up for the girls. He doesn't know what he's doing and like, like Mr. Mom esque, chaos ensues.
Amanda Hirsch
But I'm sure Taylor isn't like that.
Mandy Moore
No.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
No, no, no.
Amanda Hirsch
He could hold it down.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Like he's home right now with the
Mandy Moore
kids and like my mother in law is helping and we have an incredible nanny. We have like, you know, a support team there for him. But yeah, also like he can do it. We, we're just at that phase where it's like we can like lose walking and talking. So it's like we can do all three at the same time. It was hard. There was a point there where it was like, like baby, like tiny toddler. Other Todd. Like where you're in survival mode of life. They're going to kill themselves.
Amanda Hirsch
Also, how do you go to the park with two at the same time? Cuz like even right now, like Lenny's, it's like swing, swing. Let's say I'm alone.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Noah wants to go on the monkey bars or whatever.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Then it's like either dividing your attention is, is challenging.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Especially because Lou is like, you know, you're still helping her up the stairs a little bit.
Amanda Hirsch
Like you have to be with her
Mandy Moore
and Azie and Gus. A Gus I'm not so worried about. But yeah, it's just like your head is constantly on a swivel if you're there by yourself.
Amanda Hirsch
Right.
Mandy Moore
It's tough.
Amanda Hirsch
But is it in this movie? Like is.
Mandy Moore
He can't do anything.
Amanda Hirsch
He can't do anything. Is he.
Mandy Moore
He like doesn't know how to do laundry. He doesn't. And like Taylor.
Amanda Hirsch
Cause the mom does it all.
Mandy Moore
Mom does it all. So it, it's, you know, celebrates the invisible labor that moms don't get. The, you know.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
They're the unsung heroes again, don't get all the credit for necessarily. And dads are a little clueless. But he figures it out. He ends up doing stuff his own way and things go awry. But like I. And that's, that's where the comedy lies. But I can trust Taylor. We do things very differently though. I don't know if your husband is this way. Like I will get the lunch pretty much like minus the sandwich. I'LL do that fresh in the morning. But everything else in the lunchbox is done and in the fridge at night. Night. At night, the night before. And I lay out everything for breakfast, like plates and cutlery and like the watermelon when. Like the night before.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay, that's crazy.
Mandy Moore
Not breakfast, but like the pandemic, the eggs, the. The pot for oatmeal, like all that sort of stuff. And like their plates and their water bottles and like placemats. Like everything's all ready to go.
Amanda Hirsch
Because it feels extreme. You're saying it as if it's. I just want to. Like, I accept you, I love you. But I'm just saying like, I feel like that's like, like the extreme.
Mandy Moore
I'm making my life easier so that I can wake up in the morning. Because sometimes my kids wake up really early.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You know what?
Amanda Hirsch
I'm messy.
Mandy Moore
You're messy.
Amanda Hirsch
I am.
Mandy Moore
But you're probably a really good cook, huh?
Amanda Hirsch
I'm a non cook.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
My.
Mandy Moore
A non cook. I'm a non cook too.
Amanda Hirsch
You're a non cook?
Mandy Moore
Yeah, Yeah. I can make eggs and oatmeal. Like breakfast is my.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that's why you're like, I gotta
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
be prepared, ready to go.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You're like a friend. Eggs and oatmeal.
Amanda Hirsch
I love it.
Mandy Moore
It's my, it's my life's work. Yeah. But so I have that already because. Because my kids wake up really early. Do your. Are your kids up early?
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, I remember that with you too.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You were going through like a 4am
Amanda Hirsch
phase at some point.
Mandy Moore
There was a while there.
Amanda Hirsch
I remember that.
Mandy Moore
Yeah, that. But we got through that. But I. So I like to get up and have like 30 minutes to have my coffee.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, you do that.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
That is smart.
Amanda Hirsch
What, you put an alarm?
Mandy Moore
No, I usually wake up before that. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
So when I wake up at like
Mandy Moore
5:30 and no one's like kind of, you know, at least like I'm getting an indication that like we're 20 minutes away from them, like totally waking up.
Amanda Hirsch
That is smart.
Mandy Moore
I'll run downstairs. The coffee pot is like automatic, so it's ready to go. My coffee is ready at 5:30.
Amanda Hirsch
How do you take your coffee?
Mandy Moore
I put some like, you know, some like lotions and potions in it. I've started putting like peptides.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. And some protein powders. You put protein powder in your coffee?
Mandy Moore
Yeah. So at least I know especially like before I go, that's good. Scoop.
Amanda Hirsch
A full ass scoop.
Mandy Moore
And then if you whisk it, don't even taste it.
Amanda Hirsch
Do you put milk?
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Cream? I like half and half.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, me too.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, my God.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Half and half.
Amanda Hirsch
I want to make a video about half and half and how it's.
Mandy Moore
And what.
Amanda Hirsch
And how it's underrated because people don't know what they don't know. And like, half and half is like, people. I think that people used to think half and half is like. Like fatty and like, you know, cares.
Mandy Moore
No, it's the only way to drink coffee.
Claire Holt
It's perfect.
Amanda Hirsch
It makes the perfect color.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
And if you look at the ingredients is all I'm saying. It has less sugar, less fat, and less whatever else than regular milk. I'm just saying. And you need less of it.
Mandy Moore
That's the.
Amanda Hirsch
So you do half and half and a bunch of in it.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Wait, and what?
Amanda Hirsch
Peptide BHZ 16.
Mandy Moore
I don't know. I think that's when you inject. I don't know what it is.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, it's one you drink. You're still the drinking one.
Mandy Moore
I'm in a drinking one.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
I'm. I have an elevated medicine.
Amanda Hirsch
Aging. Aging or skin one.
Mandy Moore
It's no gut one. I think it's more for gut.
Amanda Hirsch
Okay. I started reading about these guys.
Mandy Moore
I use a parallel thing too. I have, like, three scoops of things in there.
Amanda Hirsch
That sounds disgusting.
Mandy Moore
No, if you whisk it. Like, truly. If you whisk it. Not a stirring, because sometimes it gets gluten.
Amanda Hirsch
No, no, I like. You need a whisk. I like a whisk.
Mandy Moore
And then it makes your coffee, like, kind of frothy too. I love. Makes me feel good.
Amanda Hirsch
Do you have one coffee a day?
Mandy Moore
Yes.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. Oh, that's it.
Mandy Moore
Sometimes I'll have a second cup, but usually decaf, but if not, then I. That's when I do like, a. Like a cappuccino or a. I might A big cortado phase right now.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, cortados are good.
Mandy Moore
I love a cortado.
Amanda Hirsch
So why can't you do a regular second one? Like it.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You get to wire it.
Mandy Moore
I usually don't do a second cup because I feel like I'm like a gut. I'm old. No, no, no, no, no. I'm just like. I'm geriatric. Like, if I have it past a certain hour, it'll keep.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
You really won't fall asleep?
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Really.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Huh.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Maybe it's an oppressive. And maybe I'll be awake and. And just attribute that.
Amanda Hirsch
You know what's crazy? One night I like, was watching TV at home. And I had this coffee ice cream in my fridge and I ate the whole thing and I felt so fat. It's so disgusting. And then I had the most horrible night. I couldn't fall asleep. And I like, posted like, oh, my God, it made me feel so bad. I couldn't fall asleep all night. And they're like, it's because you. You ate coffee ice cream and. Oh, you didn't make a connection.
Mandy Moore
No. I really marvel at people that can do like a full caffeinated, like, shot at dinner.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Like an after dinner shot.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah, that's.
Mandy Moore
And then go to bed.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah. That's crazy. My heart is like beating out of my chest.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
The breadwinner is out May 29th.
Mandy Moore
May 29th.
Amanda Hirsch
So fun. How did you keep a straight face? Everyone's so funny in the. In the movie.
Claire Holt
Right.
Mandy Moore
I had to go to like, dark places. Yeah. I don't want to talk about. Yeah. I had to, like, really? There were a couple times where I was like this. I'm not going to be the one that breaks. I'll break after the fact.
Amanda Hirsch
Yeah.
Mandy Moore
Someone else does. Has to go first. But it was hard. There's a lot of funny people. Colin Jost and Kate Berlant and Kumail Nanjiani will forte. Like, Nate surrounded himself with some really, really funny people.
Amanda Hirsch
Oh, that's such a fun project.
Mandy Moore
It was so much fun.
Amanda Hirsch
So what else is coming up? We have the. The football show.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. The land that. That.
Amanda Hirsch
That has a name now.
Mandy Moore
Yeah.
Amanda Hirsch
Does that have like a date or
Mandy Moore
a. I think it'll be early next year.
Amanda Hirsch
Early next year. Yeah.
Mandy Moore
And that's it. Because I went from this to. Went from the movie to that.
Amanda Hirsch
And then there was something we're supposed to do with like an IVF show for.
Mandy Moore
There's two things that are in development that may happen in the next, like, you know, for the rest of the year, hopefully. Yeah. There's like an erotic thriller with a teacher. I know. I was like, yes, yes, please, peacock, pick it up. I want to do that show so bad. It's called teach me. Yeah. A24 is producing it.
Amanda Hirsch
It's. Wait, A24 is. I don't know what it is, but it's chic.
Amanda Hirsch (alternate mic or co-host)
Okay.
Mandy Moore
They do the chicest, like, coolest.
Amanda Hirsch
Like, I want to be A24.
Mandy Moore
Yeah. Yeah. You want to do an A24 project?
Amanda Hirsch
That's what I want to do. Yeah.
Mandy Moore
We're putting it out there into the ether.
Amanda Hirsch
I want to see you in a erotic thriller.
Mandy Moore
Me too.
Amanda Hirsch
I Love that.
Mandy Moore
A limited series. Come on.
Amanda Hirsch
On. I manifest that.
Mandy Moore
Let's manifest it well.
Amanda Hirsch
Thank you for coming back. Only really special people to my heart come back.
Mandy Moore
I am so honored, especially considering that, like, we had our whole debacle with the, like, blocking initially. Remember?
Amanda Hirsch
No, I want to forget.
Mandy Moore
Okay, let's forget.
Amanda Hirsch
Let's forget.
Mandy Moore
Let's forget it ever.
Amanda Hirsch
You know that if you comment on my thing, someone's like, aren't you blocked? And I'm like, that was years ago.
Mandy Moore
Years ago.
Amanda Hirsch
We have.
Mandy Moore
And we have no idea and we don't know because I don't do that. But I love you and you know, I love your podcast and I listen every week and I'm just like so psyched that you wanted to have me back.
