The second you disregard is not the same second the thoughts are going to go away, just like the second you stop eating donuts is not the same second you're going to start losing weight where you actively can see it. It's going to take a little bit of time and it needs to be continuous reduction. So don't focus on the results. You'll start to see results as you go, but focus on the actions. When the thought came in and you were at the crossroads of paying attention versus disregarding, when, what did you do? Then two seconds later, the thought came in again, or a feeling came in again, what did you do? Focus your energy on that, because that's the key to recovery. Again, the basic model of OCD is your rumination plus your compulsions plus your avoidances equals your current level of anxiety and your current level of ocd. So to reduce OCD to zero, we need to reduce these behaviors to zero. I'm Ali Graymond. I'm an expert in OCD recovery because I've been working with clients for the last 20 years and I can tell you anybody can fully recover. If you need help, the link is below.
