So tune in, enjoy and I'll be back with you at the end. I want to get into this Word today and we've got some Kingdom business to do. Some kingdom business. Not church business, not church business. Kingdom business. The late, great Dr. Miles Monroe. And I don't know of anyone who had as prolific a revelation of the kingdom, specifically in Dr. Miles Monroe. Google, get his stuff, get his stuff on the kingdom. I'm telling you, it will really bless you. But he said. I didn't understand it when he said it, but he said the greatest war in the end times is not going to be the world against the church. He said the greatest battle is going to be kingdom people, or rather religious people against kingdom people. Oh, don't make me. I was a servant all by itself right there. I'm packing. Give you five points and everything on that. Religious people versus kingdom people. Leave that alone. Hallelujah. Turn in your Bibles with me to Matthew chapter 14. We're going to look at verse 22 through 29. Not an unfamiliar passage of scripture. Hallelujah. I don't want to do this today. We've been on this conversation about the cornerstones as we're celebrating 23 years of the movement that is called one. Hallelujah. Let me tell you something. You notice I didn't call it a church. I called it a movement. That's what it's always been. Movement started it, movement sustained it, movement has blessed it. Movement has prospered it. And movement will take us all the way until the Lord comes back. Movement. Religious people don't understand movement. I think the R in religious is rigid. Let me stop. And so we, we've touched on some of the cornerstones. The cornerstone of faith. Hallelujah. The cornerstone of love. The cornerstone of sound. Glory to God. And my assignment is to talk about the cornerstone of impact. And I have a word, you know, you'd like to have a title or whatever, and it really, truly is whatever. But the fight is fixed. The fight is fixed. That's what I want you to leave with ultimately, that the fight is fixed. Okay, Matthew 4:22, 29. Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he sent the multitudes away. And when he had sent the multitudes away, He, Jesus went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Now when evening came, he was alone there. But the boat that he sent his disciples out on to go to the other side was now in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves. For the wind, the wind was contrary. Now in the fourth watch of the night, that's very early in the morning. It's between 3 and 6am now in the fourth watch of the night. Let me. I don't want us to miss something. It says, if we go back, it says, and him in the. In the evening. The evening. Go back to that verse real quick. I'm just right before that, right before that verse, verse 23. And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up to the mountain by himself to pray. Now when the evening came, he was there alone. So look at the timing. The evening, which is really. It's not like evening, evening, it's like afternoon into the evening. So it could be like four or five o', clock, right? So this is what's happened. When the evening came, he was alone there. And then we go back to verse 24, it says, so the evening. But the boat was now in the middle of sea, tossed by the waves. So the boat was now tossed by the waves from early afternoon, for the wind was contrary, so contrary wind from afternoon until we go to verse 25, until now in the fourth watch of the night. So from four or five in the afternoon to possibly four or five in the morning, the wind is blowing very contrarily. Now, on the fourth watch of the night, Jesus went to them, went to them, went to them, walking on the sea. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled. So they saw him, or they saw something. They didn't perceive him. They saw him, but didn't perceive him. That'll preach all bright cell. And when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, it is a ghost misidentifying the Lord. And they cried out for fear. Verse 27. But immediately Jesus spoke To them saying, be of good cheer. This is important. Be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid. And then in verse 28, it says, and Peter answered him, responding to it is I. And Peter answered and said, lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water. Verse 29, he said, Come and. And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. Father, thank you so much for this opportunity to be a vessel that your word might come through to be a blessing to these, your vessels. Hallelujah. I thank you, God, that the words in my mouth and the meditation of my heart, Lord, will be by your spirit acceptable in your sight. Hallelujah. And I pray, God and I thank you for the spirit of wisdom and revelation and insight, acknowledging clarity, prophetic proficiency to the effect that it would activate, motivate and impart and stir in an unusual way that we as a body of believers will be in alignment with what you're doing here in the earth. So we love you, God, and we claim victory and we claim transformation by the renewing of our minds according to your word that's released in Jesus name. Amen. Amen. God bless you. Say something nice to somebody before you take your seat, if you don't mind. Say something nice. No macking. Don't do no macking. Just. Hi, how you. God bless you. There's a lot in my heart. There's a lot in my heart too, today. Whole lot in my heart. I want to start by saying that there's a war going on over you right now. There's a war going on over you. And the war is for the control of your vessel. You are a vessel, and there's a war over who controls that vessel. And if your vessel will ultimately get to the place where it is being used and guided for what it was created for, that's the war. You are a vessel. I'm going to show you something in Ephesians 2 and 10 in just a second. But you are. Well, I'll put it this way. You are God's workmanship. God created you and he formed you. The reason why I call you a vessel is because vessels move. You are a movement all by yourself. And I've learned that if you embrace your identity as a movement, God will birth movements through you. I'm living it right now. If you recognize that, as Ephesians 2:10 put it, well, let's read it. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand. That we should walk in them. So in other words, as I mentioned earlier, as I alluded to earlier, you're not random. You're not just here trying to make it to the safe shores of living. You are a brilliant thought and a brilliant strategy in God's mind. You are literally his workmanship. And I love it because he says he worked you out before the foundation of the world. So that's why I can boldly and confidently say you're here to solve a problem. Because the world wasn't even created before you were worked together. Let me say that better. Yeah, that literally is why you're here, to solve some problem. And notice it says that you are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus, ultimately, before the world began. Now what do we know about Christ Jesus? The Bible also says that Jesus is the lamb slain before the foundation of the world. Are you tracking with me now? Why is that significant? Significant because Jesus, the slaying of the lamb, Jesus dying was to bring redemption. But the the catch is he was slain before the foundation of the world, which means that, that he was redemption before the thing that needed redemption was even formed. Are you hearing me? And you have to understand the mindset and the mentality of God because if you do, it will make you trust him better. Are you hearing me? If you realize that God has it already what we're trying to figure out, he's already got worked out, then you can relax, you can chill, you can pray, you can patiently wait upon the Lord. That's why the Word says those who wait upon the Lord, they're going to renew their strength. They're going to mount it with wings as eagles. Why? Because it's already worked out. So what the enemy wants to do is he wants you to be depressed and emitting emotional energy trying to figure out what God has worked out. When you can be using that energy to steward and guide your vessel so that you can have impact while you're waiting. The lamb slain before the foundation of the world. So this warfare. So there's war over you right now. And it comes down to will you and I ultimately be vessels that are guided for what we were created for? Or will we be vessels lost at sea, underutilized, tossed to and fro. Underutilized. If you're not walking in powerful, faith filled, visionary purpose, you are temporarily underutilized. Temporarily. That's not a judgment, that's not condemnation. Because all of us listen, all of us have walked in seasons of underutilization because we didn't know then God touched us. He Woke us up and. And then we got busy. All right. All right. Let's walk and talk a little bit together today. So the difference between you being a vessel lost at sea or a vessel that isn't underutilized, but walking in purpose and power, moving the way that God has called us to move will come down to two things. And those two things are your ability to recognize Jesus and your faith to follow the Jesus that you're recognizing. Can I teach a little bit today? Two things. Your ability to recognize Jesus and having faith to follow. So your success, I'm going to restate it. Your success is going to be the result of you growing in your ability to perceive Jesus and in your obedience. That's how it's gonna happen. You gotta get good at obedience. Sometimes we can do pretty good at recognizing Jesus or hearing God's Word, but if we're honest, sometimes it's the obedience part. And I'm gonna say this too, because some of you, some of you think you're let off the hook, but I'm about to put you right back on the hook right now. Obedience has a timing to it. It's not just that you obey, but God is a God of when you obey. Oh, I feel something right there. I'm trying to move, but I feel something tugging me right there. So if you say, I'm going to do it. No, God, I heard you. Tongues and everything. I heard you, and I'm going to do it. But you're not doing it. Did you hear me? See, some things, watch this. Are a doing in motion. There are some times where you flat out procrastinate. But then sometimes the doing is you beginning to move that you're in the doing. And because your steps are ordered, see, sometimes you don't have the full roadmap. The obedience isn't taking the step. And when you take the step, you know this. The Bible says the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. That word order literally means in the Hebrew word, it means to erect. So when you take the step, the platform, the foundation arises to meet your foot. Are you. You understand what I'm saying? So not having all the steps is not an excuse to God. Because God is saying, it ain't none of your business. Because when I give you a word, the word is loaded. The word is pregnant with capacity and capability and strength. He doesn't just see. His words aren't like our words. They're not empty. His words are pregnant, God, I feel it. His words are pregnant with anointing. Oil. His words are pregnant with authority. His words are pregnant with creative ability, which means that you not being able to see it is absolutely irrelevant to what God has called you to do. He is a creator. He will create it if you move. There are some things that God has called some of you to do, and you're struggling because you don't see it in the earth, not realizing that you are supposed to birth it. Need to say that better. The Bible says that, that in the last days, he's going to pour out his spirit upon all flesh and his sons and daughters are going to prophesy. So let's stop right there. So. So does it mean that, okay, the spirit is going to fall on everybody and it's just going to be walking around prophesying to one another? I got a word for you. I got a word for you. I got a word for you. Is that what it means? All is he saying that I have put something in you, and when my spirit comes upon you, you are going to be activated in such a way that you begin to open your mouth and start decreeing things and stuff is going to show up. Prophecy is for the purpose of building things. That's why it says when the person prophesies, there's an edification that takes place for exhortation, edification and comfort. But so. So my prophecy is to build something. You've got cities in you, you've got nations in you. You've got businesses in you. You've got ministries in you. You're not supposed to see what God has put in you until you open your mouth, prophesy, and start moving toward it. You ain't supposed to see it. You think, I saw this, and this is not even the half anymore. I didn't see this. Millions of people touched. I wasn't no preacher. I was a corporate kid, entrepreneur, a businessman, and God. Watch this. And God gives me a word. Watch this. And it was a simple word. Go, my daughter, go. A simple word. But what was in that word? Namdi, we get frustrated because we have a simple word. In our perspective, it's a simple word. In God's perspective, it's a pregnant word. It's a pregnant word. There were literally nations in that word. Spiritual sons and daughters in that word. Church plants in that word. Literally nations in that word. Music, come on in that word, Television shows in that word. Podcast, in that word, some great leaders in that word. Don't play with me. I know what I'm talking about. And in our text, there was some pregnant words, too. Let's have a look. See you. Tracking. Can I take my time? I believe that one of the themes of our conversation is a sure foundation. I've been thinking about that. I've been thinking about what a sure foundation really is, and that as I begin to meditate on that, for me, what a sure foundation is is the word that God speaks to me. So in this text. One of the things that I find fascinating about this text, and we all know it, and there's so much there, and I don't have time to unpack it all, but for me, I look at this account and you know the story. The disciples are on the boat. You know, things are happening, the wind is blowing, they're afraid, you know, and the boat is seemingly being tossed around, all that kind of stuff. And now we know that it was being tossed around for arguably, it could have been 12 hours of this tumultuous happening. And Jesus comes walking on the water, and they don't recognize him at first. They see him, but they don't recognize him, and they call him a ghost. They literally have misidentified the Lord. And let me tell you something, we're not exempt from that. A lot of times we judge the disciples. Ah, you didn't know that that was Jesus. You wouldn't have known either. They were just getting to know each other. Right? They had never seen. Watch this. They had never seen the Lord in that context. And this is where religious people make mistakes. When. When God is doing something in the context that's outside their experience or how they think it should go, then they call it a ghost. They call it something evil when it's God. I'm just saying this is so. We have to. We. We. Us. You. I. We have to be careful because we will mislabel what God is doing and find ourselves on the wrong side of heaven. I am learning, especially in this season where there's so much division in the body of Christ and all that kind of stuff. I'm learning to shut up. Because the Bible talks about not judging anything before the time. Don't be so quick. I was having a conversation with someone I deeply respect yesterday, and they were troubled by some things that. It ain't all together. I'll be honest. It's not all together. And. And the question was, what should we do about it? I said nothing. The Bible says, let the wheat and the tare grow together. Oh, study it when you get a chance. Just put that in your notes. It says, let the wheat and the tare grow together. And the Lord would do the separating. And he says, tells you why. He says, because in you with your little finite thinking, you trying to pull up a tear, you're gonna pull up some wheat. I am learning in this season to shut up. Don't. Can I just say this for a second? Don't put your mouth on other people in the kingdom. You may not agree, you may not like them. They may be doing. That's all wonderful and you have a right to feeling that way. But the moment the that you take that right and open your mouth, which is supposed to be used to prophesy and to build something and not to tear down. Now you're outside of your character. Check your mouth because your mouth is powerful. It didn't happen to me. I just heard this used to happen when you're young and you say something wrong come out your mouth, you didn't get spanked in your butt. Some of y' all smiling, just y' all just smiling. Y' all know what I'm talking about. Some child a bitch. No, it wasn't. I got it together. They would just. They flip your lip, y', all, like that's cruel. It worked. They'll flip your lip because they're trying to help you to understand the power of your tongue. The Bible talks about how a tongue, this small little thing. So you got to make a covenant with your mouth and say, I'm only going to speak life. I feel the Holy Ghost. I am only going to bless. I'm only going to decree what I want to see, telling you this kingdom. Talk or you will judge something before the time because things in the kingdom are yet unfolding. So you'll judge something premature. I had someone reach out to me yesterday and it was a lovely note. And this person apologized to me and it was a. A 12 year old apology. Sir, I judged you over something that I didn't understand. And now you know, the Bible talks about we understand by and by. Not the Bible, the song. We understand. It's better. Y' all know by and by when the morning come. Where my old Baptist at? Come on some. I got a few Baptists in there. Come on. All the saints of God gathering on Tell the story how we overcome and we understand it better by and by. We got some Baptists up in here. Come on, somebody. The point that I'm making is as the more that I learn, the more I realize how much I don't know. And spiritual immaturity. Spiritual immaturity will make you open your mouth too soon. And had you just waited and watched and prayed. So Jesus is walking on the water. His disciples, like us, are getting it wrong. They call him a ghost. Then he says, it is I. Just real quick, I want to just pause and put my time up there. So I don't know, you know, so I'll be okay. Thank you. So Jesus understanding, watch this, that they can't go any further than their perception of him just says, look, look, let me just make it plain. Hey, it's me. It is I. I want to offer that to someone who's here or someone who's watching via live stream. If you're in a challenging moment and you don't quite understand and you've done everything you've known to do and you're still in. Could possibly be Jesus whispering to you in this moment, in this minor detour that I'll take. It is I. Be of good cheer. I mean it. Don't worry about it. I know you're frustrated. I know you've done all that you know to do and you can't understand it. You just trying to get breakthrough and you can't see it. But I hear him saying to you, to that person who's in that situation, I'm going to move on. Be of good cheer. It is I. This, this is so important, your ability to recognize Jesus. And I'll give you a few steps to doing that in just a second. Your ability to recognize Jesus is so important because there are certain things that can't be activated in you until you see him. So Peter now is going to respond to Jesus. He doesn't say anything at all. He goes from watch this being afraid to receiving faith to walk on water simply because Jesus helped him to perceive that it was him. Jesus says, it is I. So watch his response. He says, it is I. And then Peter says, let's go there real quick. I think it's in verse 20. Just. Yeah, just put it up there and I'll find 25, maybe 26. Let's just put it up there. Let's see. We're almost there. We're almost there now on the fourth Y. 20, maybe it's 26, 27. It's when he says, it is I. We're almost there. 25, 26. That's good. Okay. That's when they got it wrong. Now Jesus is going to correct in verse 27. Let's go real quick. Right? But immediately Jesus spoke to them saying, be of good cheer. It is I. Do not be afraid. Right? So Jesus reveals himself. Then Peter responds, right? As he recognizes Jesus. Now he responds. Recognizing Jesus is everything. Recognizing Jesus unlocks. Watch this desire connected to ability that you have that you didn't know you have until you recognize Jesus. I need to say that better. I need to say that better. I need to say that better. You got to remember, God's not going to give you anything new. He's already put it in you, right? We saw that in Ephesians 2:10, right? We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works before the world began. So it's already there. God's not going to download anything to you. What he's going to do is he's going to stir it up, he's going to activate it, or he's going to use prophecy to make it stand up in you. Are you tracking? So it's already there. So when you recognize Jesus, it begins to pull stuff out of you. Where did he even get. I mean, this is a man. There's no prophecy about somebody gonna walk on water. Where did that even come from? He was tapping into ability and prophecy. This was written. So watch this. So when Jesus says, it's me, don't be afraid. Peter's like, whoa, well, if it's you, let me come on the water and come to you. Watch this. And Jesus says come. One word. One loaded, pregnant, powerful, dynamic science defying word. One word. And so I believe people think that Peter walked on water. I don't think he walked on. I think he walked on the word. It could have been fire, it could have been anything. But he walked on. On the. The moment that Jesus said come. Ability to do whatever that word is, came to be. He walked on the word. The word. Watch this. Made water feel like pavement. The word changes water to wine. The word changes everything. So I don't want you. I want to hear you saying, all I got is a word. If you got a word, you are rich. Whoa, God, I feel it. You are rich. If God has called you to something massive, if God has called you to something so far beyond you, you know what you got? You just got rich. You just got leveled up. And you got to stir up that word. There's some rich people in there, they don't know it. Some of you, you have multiple. Watch this. Hear me clearly. Multiple billion dollar visions. And you don't have $1,000 to your name, but you don't have to. If God gave you a word that will require multiple billions if you start moving towards that word, if you start acting like that word is already done. I dare you to just start Stepping toward it and watch it materialize, watch it manifest. I want something to break loose in here. Where are my people? You got a multiple million dollar word from God. It doesn't make sense. You don't have the resources, you don't have the connections. You don't even know how to do this thing. But God spoke it to you. That word is pregnant. If that's your word, give God about 18 seconds of worship. I got it, I got it, I got it. I got. I got it. I got it. I got it. I got it. This is why Jesus was so frustrated when people didn't have faith. The Bible says that without faith. Hebrews 11:6. Without faith, it is impossible to please God. Okay, let's unpack that. Is he saying, oh, you're just not a good person, you don't have faith, you're not a good person? No, he knows that he can't get out of you what he put in you if you don't have faith. Because faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Somebody ought to just worship real quick. Worship. And let that word get deep down in your spirit and begin to change your mind, mind, begin to renew your mind about the thing that God has called you to, has said is yours. And some of you need to repent for not moving because doubt had creeped in there. I don't care how big it is, God is bigger. I want to break something. I want to break something. This is a church full of world changes. I know I founded it. I know what's in this house. I know what's in this room. You're not random. You're not cute. Pastor Phil talked about it the other day. There's something glorious on your life. Why do you think you're here? In one of the most powerful cities, one of the most influential cities in the world, and God has you here. Oh, I feel the Holy Ghost from all over the world, other countries, other nations. But he's had you convene in this place is because of what you are carrying. You are rich. You are rich. Just put your hand on your belly right now and just say, I'm rich. I'm rich. I'm rich. I'm loaded. I'm loaded. I'm loaded. I'm loaded with solutions. I'm loaded with miracles. I'm loaded with pr. I'm loaded with ministries. I'm loaded with businesses. I'm loaded with opportunities. I'm loaded with the power to solve problems that are making everybody run and took their tail Bring it all. Where? David's act. You're called to slay something that's taunting everything around you. I feel that right there. When you think about the story of David and Goliath, Goliath was terrorizing a whole nation. He was terrorizing. Watch this. Kings. Even the king of the nation was terrorized. No hope in sight. He was bigger than all their soldiers, ranting and raving. He had a history of victories and dead bodies. Terrorizing a nation. But there was a boy named David. And God had been developing him on the backside of the desert. Watch this. To bring it up today. He was a nobody. I feel this so strong. He was a nobody that was rich and pregnant and had something on the inside of it. And his moment showed up and he stood up to that thing. Watch this. And he didn't use Saul's armor. He didn't try to be who he wasn't. He believed in what God had placed on the inside of him. And he took a sling shot and a stone and slung that thing and knocked him up and changed the whole legacy of a generation. Jesus came through his line. I wish I had about a thousand Davids in this place. You're carrying something. You're carrying something. You're carrying something. You're carrying something. Don't be looking over there saying, I know my breakthroughs. Don't come over there. Look over there saying, God's gonna show up through that door right there. If you're looking for the breakthrough, look in the mirror. Look in the mirror. You are the breakthrough. And it's time for you to break out. I feel the Holy Ghost. Maybe we start with just breaking out in praise right now. Maybe just start with breaking out just in your own way. Maybe it's breaking out of. Thank you, Lord. Gotta figure this out. Gotta figure this out. Kingdom business to do. You know what's crazy? That wasn't even. I didn't realize it till I was reading it afresh. The word come that had all that ability in it wasn't even the first word. The first word was when Jesus told him to get in the boat and go over to the other side. Which means that no matter how tumultuous the storm was, it didn't matter. Because Jesus, when he told him to go over to the other side, the ability to get to the. The other side. And so sometimes matter. Listen, let's put it this way. And again, I don't want to be insensitive, so please forgive me if you feel like I am, because I'm not. I love you and I want the best for you and I am empathetic towards you if you're going through something. But can I ask you a question? Does it really matter how long it takes if you're going to arrive? If, if, if, if, if, if God has already put it on the calendar, is it really that big of a deal? That is not happening in the comfortability of your timeline? One is 23 years old. 23 years old and literally millions of people in over 180 nations touched and counting. And that's just one. I haven't even talked about the Potter's house. I haven't even talked about woman evolved. I haven't talked about any of that 23 years though. And I got to be honest with you, the majority of it has happened in about the last decade. And I'm learning if my calendar and God's calendar aren't aligning, that I have to surrender my calendar and trust the master planner. And while I am, I'm not even going to say waiting. I'm waiting. I feel like that's not the right posture. I think, I think, I think, I think expecting is better. A pregnant woman is not waiting. Pregnant woman ain't waiting. A pregnant woman is expecting. And what do you do when you're expecting? You start making room. You can wait and not make room. You can wait and sit in your excuses, you can wait and sit in your procrastination. You can wait. But when you're expected, you buy the crib. Come on. So you have a baby shower, you throw a party, you go get the diapers. Because any day now I'm going to be ready for when it shows up on God's calendar. What I'm not going to do is have this baby coming. I don't have a crib and I haven't created space and I haven't gotten my little onesies in my formula. So what do we do while we're expecting? We get better. Oh, I'm out of time. We get better at recognizing Jesus. I, I, I, I, I, I gotta wrap this up. I can't do it the way I want to do it. Maybe it's 11 o'. Clock. We'll figure it out. Jesus, when he engaged those who would be his disciples, he said two words. Follow me. If you are going to be who the Lord has created you to be before the fountain, listen, it says, for we are his workmanship created in Christ Jesus. So you have to follow him to find you. You've got, you've got, you've got to. Aish. You have to follow him. Come here, Morgan. You're Jesus because you got on red lead now. It's not a straight line. I thought it was. Now run a little bit too. I gotta change you something. Okay, but you understand what I'm saying? You gotta. Thank you, Mark Love. You hear me? You gotta follow him. You gotta recognize him. Left 30. Podcast: ONE | A Potter's House Church
Host/Preacher: Touré Roberts
Date: September 29, 2025
In this energetic and faith-filled sermon, Pastor Touré Roberts explores the foundational principle that "the fight is fixed"—emphasizing God's pre-ordained victories for His people. Drawing from Matthew 14:22-29 and Ephesians 2:10, Pastor Touré underscores the importance of recognizing Jesus in unfamiliar circumstances, obeying divine instruction promptly, and embracing one's unique, God-given purpose. The message is a call to spiritual impact, bold faith, and prophetic action, all while celebrating the 23rd anniversary of ONE—described as a "movement" rather than just a church.
Pastor Touré Roberts delivers an impassioned message urging listeners to recognize God's movements, act boldly on His word, and realize that one's purpose and breakthrough are already embedded within. The sermon is both inspiring and practical—grounded in biblical truth, yet deeply personal and applicable. The “fight” truly is fixed, not because life will lack storms, but because God's promises and timing are sure for all who trust and follow Him.
