Now, if you haven't listened to Part 1 of this two-part episode, titled "Everything Matters - Conscious Living with Stevie" stop reading and listen to Part 1 first. It serves as a preface for this episode. In Part 1, Stevie shares about the work she's a part of through NFP organisation, The RT Foundation. The story of how Stevie became involved with what was the beginnings of theThe RT Foundation, at just 18 years of age, was the catalyst for a career shift and claimed a new mandate and purpose for her life therafter. Pre-COVID, Stevie would basically spend equal time in India as she does Australia each year. So, she's taken the opportunity, while international travel is on pause, to work remote and to see more of our beautiful country, living and travelling in her bus with ther two sons, aged 9 and 11. Stevie applies the concept of "conscious living" in her parenting, consumption of food and material pocessions, her general outlook on life and realationship with people and the world around. She's educating her children in a way that they wont become immune to the injustices they see in the world, rather advocate for the voiceless and instigate change wherever they can. We're inspired by what Stevie shares and think youwill be too. We hope you enjoy this episode! OG Recommendations: Stevie: WikiCamps Australia GK: Wardrobe Crisis - A podcast by Clare Press Caleb: "You can curate how people communicate with you." ie. communication platforms, social media, messenger, what's up, emails, text, etc... "If we all lived a little differently, if we were all more aware, more conscious and more deliberate with how we live, we'd be living in a different planet. We are so much more empowered to build a better world - It's often in the small things. It starts with diving in, letting yourself be uncomfortable, exposing yourself to the injustice to the point where the things you currently do in your life, are too hard to do anymore." Well, if this two-part episode doesn't become your new favourite, we don't know what will. Caleb & GK were so thrilled and honoured to sit down with Stevie Moore, to gain insight into Stevie's world of conscious living, conscious parenting and in part one, her work with the NFP Organisation, The RT Foundation. Stevie identifies that from a young age, she was burdened by social injustice. At just 18 years of age, when she first travelled to India with what was then the beginnings of The RT Foundation, a few stand-out experiences were the catalyst for a career shift and claimed a new mandate and purpose for her life thereafter. Trained as a Project Development Officer, Stevie, with The RT Foundation, will approach communities, work with local people, assess the need, of which they're always already aware, and devise projects/programs to help bring growth, development and most important of all, empowerment to individuals and communities. In this episode, Stevie unpacks some of the cultural systems that perpetuate social injustice in India, an update on how COVID has rocked and is still devastating the Nation, how The RT Foundation has pivotted to direct aid where there is the greatest need, and gives some super insightful and inspiring, practical next-steps to how you can start to live a little more consciously. Stay tuned for Part 2 - Out Next Wednesday! For more information, visit https://www.thertfoundation.org.au or check out The RT Foundation on instagram. Well, if like us, your blood is 50% coffee, you'll be addicted to this episode... (See what we did there?) Caleb and GK sit down with all-round-legend and the second of the three Hearne Brothers, Andrew "AJ" Hearne. A life-long dream to fly planes temporarily took AJ from the Gold Coast to Adelaide. He was undergoing training and pursuing this dream when the offer for a casual job in a cafe and roastery changed the course of AJ's life. He's the first to admit that he wasn't always "into coffee", but with all he has learned over the last 8 years in the industry, and in his current role as Gold Coast & Northern Rivers Regional Manager for Seven Miles Coffee Roasters and ASCA Brewers Cup Judge, coffee has become his passion. You can hear it in his voice. AJ is clearly a wealth of knowledge on the subject and whether you're into cofffee or not, you're bound to learn something you didn't know. We even think you may enjoy your next coffee even more after listening. OG Recommendations: GK: Be resourceful with items in your pantry/fridge! Use that jar and don't let those veggies go to waste ! They might just make a tasty meal! AJ: Physical Excercise - A little bit, everyday, will make all the difference! Last Sunday Night, Originals collaborated with Highway Church for the PM Service. This episode is a recording from the night that gave attention to a thought-provoking question: "Why am I still a Christian?" This question is even more relevant in a society that is currently deemed "Post-Christian", that is, a society moving further and further away from the traditional Judaic Christian values that our laws and culture was once based on. While we need a deep foundation and understanding of scripture, why we believe what we believe is equally as important. Caleb & Matt were joined on a panel by an extrordinary line-up of guests. Donna O'Neill and Owen Sillars each shared some of their life story, where God has shown up in various seasons of life, not just the smooth-sailing, but the depths of terror and dispair. These experiences shape a testimony that become the reasons why you can believe and trust in God and call yourself a Christian. We hope you're encouraged by this episode. If you want to know more about our community, how you can get involved, or if you just need someone to talk to, we're here and we care. Reach out on our IG. Well, what an episode we have for you this week! Matt and Caleb take time out to talk to Ps Shane Wilard and ask some hard hitting questions. Do you cop critisism and how do you handle it? How do you manage the lens through which you intake information/content? How you do navigate conversations with someone you disgree with? You'll be blown away by how he responds. With degrees in both clinical psychology and theology, mentored by a pastor with rabbinical training, Ps Shane shares an eye-opening, mind-boggling perspective on the Bible, on God and Christianity. We hope this casual Q&A either sheds light on some of the questions you may be asking or helps you form the questions you've been wanting to ask. ** In ths episode, a message Ps Shane preached recently is referenced a few times. You can listen to this message, titled "Understand the Entire Bible Story in 30 Minutes" via the Highway Church podcast. Hey! Glad you've joined us for anoher episode of The Originals Podcast! It's a goodie. Caleb & GK sit down with newlyweds, Daniel & Poppy Russell. Daniel, a qualified Journalist, and Poppy, a student and Founding Owner of Lemon Lane Co. somehow also manage to run an incredible ministry for Highschool Students - Highway Youth (check out @hwyyouth). Together, they're a dynamic and passionate powerhouse, while still among the most down-to-earth people you'll meet. We ask the question on everyone's mind - Dan, how did you do it? Once just his sister's bestfriend, he wooed Poppy to become his wife! We debunk the first year of marriage, a season most people warn is "the hardest year", talk about preparation for marriage, love languages and expectation of life after marriage. "There's always an element of unknown, but that's kind of the exciting part." Dan pretty much sums it up. We hope you find this episode insightful, even if only into the life of Dan and Poppy.
