The pilot's seat responds to his touch before he even asks, adjusting settings automatically. The holographic checklist merges familiar protocols with technology he's only read about in technical journals. Nix settles into the gunner's chair beside him, and Orriona's voice comes through the comms, already adjusting their systems for optimal performance.

Then the tactical display lights up with something that makes Kellan's blood run cold.

A Belloros.

A cybersuite-class destroyer. Ancient anti-AC technology that should be in museums, not hurtling toward them through space. Ships built for one purpose: hunting and destroying artificially autonomous vessels like Orriona.

Kellan grew up on stories about OSSA's golden age—peacekeepers who maintained order along the frontiers. But the ship bearing down on them tells a different story about what OSSA has become.

On the ground, his crew is scattered across the hangar. Val and Kai pinned down. Dr. Jengu and Jotter working under fire. Orriona's consciousness divided between ship systems and the station's networks, her voice guiding each crew member through their individual objectives while Kellan tries to hold the tactical picture together.

Minutes tick down. Multiple threats converge. And through it all, Kellan has to trust an AC captain he just met to coordinate people he barely knows through a firefight none of them trained for.
