What does it really mean to be the church—and why does gathering together even matter anymore in our modern times? We live in a culture that has deeply influenced us to view the church as an option when it’s convenient for us, but Scripture calls us to something much deeper. We are not just individuals with a personal faith, but a people who belong to Jesus Christ and are called to gather around Him. When we gather together, we step into one of the primary ways God shapes our lives, and today we are going to explore what that really means. Death is the one enemy every person will face. It does not care who you are, what you believe, or how you live — it comes for everyone. Every funeral, every hospital room, every tear at a graveside reminds us that something is wrong with our world. But Easter is the announcement that death does not win. Jesus did not just come to teach us how to live — He came to confront death, defeat death, and offer life to all who believe in Him. This Easter, we invite you to join us as we discover the hope of the resurrection and the life-changing truth that because Jesus lives, death is not the end of our story. When the Holy Spirit was poured out on the early church, something new began. God’s Spirit was no longer given to just a few leaders, but to all believers. Because of this, the church became a prophetic people where they could hear God’s voice and speak His encouragement into the lives of others. In our message today, we are going to look at what it truly means to be a prophetic church and how we can embrace all that God has given in order to build each other up and reach people far from God.
