ADHD Series Episode 2 – Puberty, Mental Health and Hyperfocus

Target Audience: This activity is directed to physicians, medical students, nurse practitioners, nurses, and physician assistants.

Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

• Differentiate the effects of puberty on individuals with ADHD compared with neurotypical peers, including

developmental, behavioral, and emotional considerations.

• Identify common co-occurring mental health risks associated with ADHD across adolescence and early

adulthood.

• Evaluate the concept of hyperfocus and its clinical relevance as a feature of ADHD in affected individuals.
