(Both professionally and hobbyist levels) While Brooke has had a successful, genre spanning career, some of her most notable roles are from the mystery thriller “iMurders”, mobster flick “Sinatra Club”, and of course her comedic and passion project alter-ego “Ms. Vampy”. Growing up in Philadelphia, Brooke quickly learned that her desire was for acting and soon left the City of Brotherly Love for her break at The Big Apple. After spending some time in a number of larger, Off-Broadway roles, the call of the sun and surf from the left coast became too strong so she packed up her things and headed for Hollywood. Brooke continues to reside in California but has not forgotten her PA roots and has since started “Philly Chick Pictures” which allows her more acting and writing opportunities. Brooke is also very active in multiple philanthropic endeavors that include women fighting breast cancer, at risk teens, and female empowerment. Brooke is no stranger to the paranormal both on and off screen. While claiming to have never been on an “official” ghost hunt, she has had a number of regular encounters with spirits within her own home, and one even has a crush on her! But you have to listen to the episode for the details on that story. Brooke also admits that one of the most interesting things to do while in Los Angeles is to go on the “Dearly Departed” tour. So, while she may claim to have not been on a ghost hunt before, it sure seems like has been in enough situations to where ghosts are able to make their presence known. Stretching from coast to coast, these worlds of wonder spark a level of curiosity that draws some of us to explore deeper than the surface level stops. While most hikers and adventurers find their way home, there is an occasional few that unfortunately go missing. When this does happen, there seems to be a standard process that plays out: We catch a small snippet on the local news, are shown a few images of search teams with dogs and flashlights, and it is on to the next story. We only assume that there is far more detailed process that goes on behind the scenes, but what is being discovered is that the opposite is the case. In fact the National Parks Service does not even maintain a continuing list of missing peoples. Troubled by this, this week’s guest on The Malliard Report began his quest to discover why there is such a lack of information attached to these missing people cases and the often mysterious circumstances surrounding these cases. (Often, these individuals are experienced hikers/hunters accustomed to the outdoors) Drawing upon his experience as a police officer and an outdoorsman as well, David Paulides started the CanAm Missing project. Frustrated by finding out that many missing people cases wind up buried in a file cabinet never to be seen again, David started pushing for what he believes is a much needed paradigm shift within the system, and thus CanAm got its start. CanAm Missing is a group of retired police officers, search and rescue, and various other experts dedicated to following up ad better understanding the issues surrounding the mysterious disappearances in North American National Forests. (How does an experienced hiker wind up dead in a muddy body of water with no boots and perfectly clean socks?) David tirelessly continues his efforts in bringing awareness to the public on this matter and will exhaust every avenue possible. He has written several books on the subject (including the Missing 411 series, and A Sobering Coincidence) has a feature length film that is awaiting to debut (that has received great reviews from the pre-screenings), and brings his insight to numerous podcasts and radio shows. David’s cause is certainly an unusual one, and one worth looking into. It is something that one would not often associate with shady under dealings, but David reveals that after a number of “off record” interactions with park rangers he was quickly led to believe otherwise. On this episode, Jim welcomes the very talented Ben Mezrich. Ben takes the time to discuss the trials of being an up and coming writer, his fascination with UFOs, what inspires him, what his future goals look like, and much more. Residing currently in Boston, and having grown up in Princeton, Ben graduated from Harvard in 1991 where he watched a lot of friends obtain almost instant success from careers in the financial industry. Slightly envious of his friends rapid affluence but not deterred, (It is easy to see how frustrating it can be, watching your buddies drive BMWs and Mercs while you are stuck on a regular diet of PB&J) Ben kept on keeping on and soon his perseverance paid off. Ben now boasts a writing career that spans nineteen years, sixteen books, and several major motion pictures that include 21 and The Social Network. While Ben has done some fiction pieces, he is mostly known for his non-fiction and his avant-garde, submersion approach to his research. This has often led him into some very precarious situations that include smuggling money and run-ins with Japanese mafia just to name a few. Ben’s latest work focuses on the peculiarity of the 37th parallel and the fervent research compiled by Chuck Zukowski. Following up on reports of “shallow-focus” earthquakes in Virginia and Colorado and a theory that a potential underground tunnel system runs from at least Dulce, New Mexico all the way to Area 51 in Nevada, Chuck began to notice a pattern developing. These events and locations were all located on approximately the 37th parallel. Not one to chalk things up to coincidence, Chuck began to check to see what all sits on the 37th parallel, and an interesting list quickly came together that includes: San Jose California, Mono Lake California (home of numerous UFO sightings), Area 51 Nevada, US Naval Undersea Warfare Base – Hawthorne Nevada, Taos New Mexico (home of the Taos hum), Dulce New Mexico (rumored massive Deep Underground Base) Aztec New Mexico (UFO crash and recovery – 1948), Blanca Peak Colorado (UFO hotspot), Coffey County Kansas (cattle mutilations reported in 1897), Howell County Missouri (cattle mutilations reported – 1896), Piedmont Missouri (over 500 witnesses report UFO sightings), Cape Girardeau Missouri (UFO crash and recovery), Wytheville Virginia (mass UFO sighting reports) and the Greenbrier Virginia underground bunker (designed to house congress in times of war). Ben’s book follows Chuck in his relentless quest to find out the truth about this anomaly, and is currently in the works to be a full length film as well. (In which Ben admits that he would like to see Robert Downey Jr. play the main character.) A Ney York Times best-selling author, hard-hitting investigative journalist, college professor, and expert panelist appearing on such forums as The History Channel, CNN, NBC, Today, The Discovery Channel, Infowars, and countless others; Jim Marrs is easily distinguished as a leading expert in all things conspiratorial. Not one to take things for face value or to leave a single stone unturned, Marrs brings a tenacity that is quickly disappearing and is being replaced by watered down “stories” by today’s modern media.One of the main ideas that Marrs really pushes on during this episode is one that is becoming a recurring theme not only here on The Malliard Report, but across many different “alternative news” mediums; check your sources. Marrs encourages everyone to not blindly believe everything that comes across their proverbial desk, but to also not immediately discredit something that may sit outside the general scope of one’s ideals. Marrs refers to this as the “hmmm factor”. Take an idea, research it from all angles, and then draw your own personal conclusion. This process has carried so well for Marrs that even Marrs shows little discrimination, overemphasizing dubious phenomena like remote viewing and crop circles, and giving nearly equal weight to ludicrous pretenders like Billy Meier (who claimed close encounter with Pleiadians) and sophisticated commentators like Jaques Vallee. Marrs even devotes a chapter to theories that the moon may be a UFO, and he refuses to rule out obvious frauds like the alien autopsy tapes. But if rigorous analysis escapes Marrs, little else does…” Marrs’ passion is very evident and conveys through the manner in which he speaks, and in the depth of topics he chooses. He is incredibly insightful on many different subjects (the books that he has authored range from the Kennedy assassination, to government testing of remote viewing, to the cover up of global depopulation) and is not afraid to take on any narrative. While probably most widely known for hosting the late A&amp;E networks H2 television show <i>America Unearthed</i> Scott also holds great notoriety as a forensic geologist, being the president of Minnesota-based American Petrographic Services, and developing an entirely new field of science called archaeopetrography. Archaeopetrography is a scientific based process in which mysterious stones, artifacts, and locations are dated and studied so as to better understand their origins and meanings. Scott joins Jim to discuss, the fate of his show, his thoughts on certain artifacts, places he wants to travel to, Free Masonry, and problems with a lot of current “research”. Originally garnering the attention of those in the right places, Scott’s 2009 History channel 2-hour special “Holy Grail in America” (Scott proposes the idea that the Kensington Runestone is credible evidence that the Knights Templar were operating out of the Americas more than 100 years prior to Columbus setting sail) quickly led to a full time series. <i>America Unearthed </i>originally launched December 21, 2012 with the theme of the episode being ancient Mayan secrets. Seeing as how the world <i>didn’t </i>end that evening, the show was able to run for a total of three seasons and covered an incredibly wide set of topics ranging from Montezuma’s Gold, to Bigfoot, Captain Kidd, Treasure hidden in the Grand Canyon, The New World Order, Giants in America, and much more. The show unfortunately met its demise, not for a lack of viewership (it was the highest rated series on H2) but rather because the H2 network was sold, and The History Channel deemed the show “too smart for their audience…” (gimmie more of ma pawn shows and big trucks!) and failed to renew the contract. Scott is currently working on a new project that he claims, if validated, is so ground breaking that it will re-write history as we know it. (Color me excited for this one!) Scott brings his expertise and knowledge from many different fields (did I mention he is a high level Mason too?) to discuss what he thinks The Ark of The Covenant might be, and the potentiality of there being more than one, his opinion on certain celebrity Flat Earthers, research bias, and his fear of watching ancient sites and artifacts being destroyed by meaningless fighting of peoples.
