Lex P
Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
Dre Nicole
That's wild.
Lex P
Taco Bell is so good, and I'm not ashamed of it. For a while, I tried to act like, oh, I don't eat that. Ew.
Dre Nicole
Girl, fuck y'all. I don't ever. But I don't even know why you was ever acted like that. Cause you be fucking up Taco Bell.
Lex P
I fuck up Taco Bell, but you.
Dre Nicole
Not scared of the mystery meat.
Lex P
I'm not. I done put mystery meat in my mouth before. Hey.
Dre Nicole
No.
Lex P
Okay, all right, all right, all right. Tough crowd, tough crowd. Okay, okay, okay. What's up, y'all? It's your girl Lex P. And it's.
Dre Nicole
Your girl Dre and Nicole.
Lex P
And you are tuned in to another episode of Poor Mind, where a drunk mind speaks sober thought, we ain't got no guests today. We ain't got no guests today.
Dre Nicole
We don't.
Lex P
You know what's crazy? So somebody had tweeted me yesterday, and they were like, when are y'all gonna start letting regular people come on the show? When she said regular, she just meant, like, somebody who's not famous or whatever. And I was like. I responded back to her, and I was like, honestly, the listeners don't like when we have guests, period. So we're not gonna frustrate them any further than we already do. And another girl tweeted me. She was like, facts. Because I've been listening since 2021, and I've never listened to a guest episode.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, it's a few people that I see say that all the time. Like, they be like, whenever y'all have guests, I just skip over the episode.
Lex P
That's crazy, because the guest episodes be really good.
Dre Nicole
The guest episodes do be good. I mean, I don't know. I think people just have their preferences, because, to be honest, I don't know. Like, Skip. I think when people think of podcasts, they don't think of you having gigs.
Lex P
Well, this isn't a podcast. It's a talk show.
Dre Nicole
But when we started, it was a podcast. All right, so they probably, like, they never used to have guests. And we used to always say that we don't have guests on our show. So they probably, like, you done switched up.
Lex P
Because we got Hollywood.
Dre Nicole
Y'all got Hollywood on us.
Lex P
We switched it to a talk show, damn it. We gotta do what we got.
Dre Nicole
That's fair. But that's probably why they don't want to listen, though, when we have guests, because they be like, I miss. When y'all used to be Yelling at each other on the floor.
Lex P
That's crazy to miss that. Okay. But you know what I do think people miss?
Dre Nicole
It was a fun time.
Lex P
I think people miss. I see people say this all the time. They're like, I miss the red and black background because y'all were so unhinged. You know what I'm saying?
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
I think that people miss that. Because y'all have to understand, though, like, we were not that we are not, like, hungry now, but we were a lot more immature than we are now. Like, we've grown a lot. Y'all have to realize, like, we have been doing Poor Minds for a while now.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. I don't even think it had anything to do with Hungry. I just think it was just, like, not thinking about things before we said it. We just would say whatever was on our mind. Now we're just a little more cautious with the things that we say because.
Lex P
We have to be.
Dre Nicole
Because we have to be. Yeah, we have to be. I think back then, it wasn't as many people listening, and we just were really, really blunt and would just say whatever it was that came to our mind. Like, crazy shit. Because when I be seeing some of the old episodes or, like, clips from the old episodes, I be like, I can't believe I said it.
Lex P
I know. It'd be really like, oh, my God. And I would be dead serious.
Dre Nicole
Well, I'm still serious about a lot of the stuff I said, to be honest, But I just be feeling like, wow, like, we just really used to be raw and unfiltered.
Lex P
And somebody else has said, what did they say? They were just like, when Poor Minds first came out, there wasn't a lot of podcasts like that.
Dre Nicole
There wasn't.
Lex P
And it's so crazy to think about because, honestly, when we started it, it didn't feel that way. It just felt like we were just doing us and just doing something. So now to see, like, there's a lot of podcasts that, you know, have the best friends who just be cutting up and talking about life. It is a lot of podcasts like that.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, it is. I wonder where they got it from.
Lex P
Okay, see, this is what we not.
Dre Nicole
Oh, you so original.
Lex P
This is what we not. What?
Dre Nicole
I'm just saying, that's very original.
Lex P
I like. I think it's good to be inspiring, though. I think it's a good thing. Like I said, I think we need more black women on the mics. It's not enough for me. I want to see more.
Dre Nicole
Absolutely.
Lex P
I love to have a lot of children.
Dre Nicole
Absolutely. Yeah. Okay. But you talking about me, all these.
Lex P
Bitches is my sons.
Dre Nicole
But I'm saying. But I'm saying I agree. Like, I guess when we started. Back when we started, I didn't think about Poor Minds as a podcast. Like, I definitely just thought, like, oh, yeah, we just doing something on the mics, doing whatever. Like, I didn't know what we was doing. Like. Cause it wasn't even us that thought to make it into a podcast. It was one of your friends that told us that we should turn it into a podcast. Cause we was just doing a YouTube channel every week, and we didn't know what the hell.
Lex P
That lemon pasta I made on our.
Dre Nicole
YouTube, it was so good.
Lex P
It was good.
Dre Nicole
And you made. You made a little ghetto Baileys.
Lex P
I did. The ghetto Baileys used to have everything.
Dre Nicole
I remember I drunk her before I had to go to work.
Lex P
Was that the night?
Dre Nicole
And I was so tipsy.
Lex P
Was that the same night?
Dre Nicole
What same night?
Lex P
Oh, no, that wasn't the same night. That unfaithful night.
Dre Nicole
What unfaithful night?
Lex P
You know, that unfaithful night. Girl, I don't know.
Dre Nicole
I had a lot of. Let me tell you. I had a lot of unfaithful nights.
Lex P
We talking about the night that. Remember, you got pulled over. But that was later on.
Dre Nicole
That was way later on. Because at that time, when you made the hood Baileys, you was still living with me. Facts, facts.
Lex P
Roy. Roy.
Dre Nicole
But I had to go to work that night. Like, I was still working in the clubs, and I had to go to work, and I was so tipsy. That back at least had me so fucked up. And then I went to work, and I still was taking shots of Hemi. I used to be young and reckless.
Lex P
When I think about being young and reckless, me and my friends used to buy a bottle of Ciroc on Friday, the big bottle. And it would be gone by Friday.
Dre Nicole
Blue Ciroc.
Lex P
The blue. And we would be at the liquor store. I'm not gonna lie to y'all. Diddy used to have people waiting in line for that Ciroc like they was some J's, bruh.
Dre Nicole
Especially when the new flavors would. When the new flavors. I remember when the coconut came out.
Lex P
No, when that peach hit the streets was going crazy.
Dre Nicole
Facts, facts. And people used to love the peach Ciroc with spray in a little pineapple.
Lex P
That red berry and cranberry juice.
Dre Nicole
I never liked the red berry. It tastes like cough medicine.
Lex P
But people used to. They like the red berry with the cranberry Sarah, girly. Okay. In college, too, at Howard, when that pineapple.
Dre Nicole
It was a time for July.
Lex P
You went to somebody's house and they had all the Ciroc.
Dre Nicole
You were like, ooh, girl, you got money. I hit the jackpot, girl. What a simple time thinking. Niggas had money because they had Ciroc bottles in their home, man.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
Cause at my home, we had McCormick bottles.
Lex P
Now, see. Now see, we did. But I'm saying, though, in college, me.
Dre Nicole
And my best friend, my roommate in college, we used to make the little trash can punch, and we would save the bottles of McCormick, and we had them on top of our cabinet.
Lex P
How tacky is that?
Dre Nicole
Then I upgraded when I moved into my apartment in Houston, and it was the Carlos Rossi bottles. Y'all know the Carlos?
Lex P
The wine?
Dre Nicole
Yes.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
You know how they had the big jug?
Lex P
The jug.
Dre Nicole
The sangria. The sangria was my fave.
Lex P
You are so ratchet.
Dre Nicole
But that let you know how much we was drinking, because we had enough to go around the whole kitchen.
Lex P
Yeah. Oh, sure. Yeah. And then, uh. Oh, why is my phone not on vibrate? How are you a professional of me?
Dre Nicole
We was really some alcoholics. Low key, literally.
Lex P
You know what? This is how bad we were. So we used to get the Ciroc on Fridays, and then we weren't supposed to drink on the job, obviously, when I was working at Dreams, but. So we used to put the liquor in water bottles. So it got to the point to where, like, we would stay the night at each other's houses, me and my friends at the time that I bartended with. And there would be so many bottles of water in our room, like, we didn't know what was liquor and what was water. I remember one morning, I woke up thirsty and hungover. I grabbed a bot, I took a big old gulp of nothing but sorak. And when I tell you I threw up, right?
Dre Nicole
Already know.
Lex P
You know how bad that is to take a shot when you're already hungover.
Dre Nicole
But, you know, they say, see? And that again, yet another way that I know. Me and my friends was really borderline alcoholics. You know, they say you supposed to drink when you have a hangover, it make you feel good.
Lex P
But like, beer and stuff, though, right? Sometimes you could take, let's say, hard.
Dre Nicole
Liquor, sometimes regular liquor, too. But we did used to drink beer. Like, me and Lynn would go to our job when we worked at Wheat Lounge. We used to go to work the next day hungover, and she would be like, you wanna drink a Heineken that is something.
Lex P
That is Lynn. Lynn is Jamaican Suarez.
Dre Nicole
She is.
Lex P
That is a Jamaican.
Dre Nicole
She love a good cold brewski, girl.
Lex P
Not the red stripe.
Dre Nicole
See, well, we ain't have red stripes, so we had to make do with what we had. We had a little Heineken. And I never would finish mine. Cause I would be like, ew, I don't see how you drink beer. I don't like beer.
Lex P
I do not. I've never been a beer girl.
Dre Nicole
I don't like beer. You like beer?
Lex P
I love.
Dre Nicole
Oh, okay.
Lex P
So you. Oh, I forgot Ty know her stuff.
Dre Nicole
But that's deep in that back. Yeah. You like a beer connoisseur?
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Cause they probably like, what the fuck is an ipa?
Lex P
Well, I used to want to drink Coronas so bad because they just looked good with the salt and the lime. I was like, oh, my gosh, they have to be good. Cause my sister, I don't know if she still drinks them, but she used to drink Coronas. And I just. I wanted to drink it so bad. And honestly, bartending, when we used to have these frozen mugs and we will put the beer in it and the beer would literally freeze and get so frothy, like. And they look. It looks so good. But the taste.
Dre Nicole
It'S not bad to me, if you like a Corona is not that bad when you put grenadine in it. But then I feel like that takes away from the beer, from the integrity of the beer.
Lex P
Right?
Dre Nicole
Yeah. So. But I like it with a little grenadine. And then at one point, I used to call myself trying to drink a little cider.
Lex P
Oh.
Dre Nicole
And I used to love Angry Orchard. And then I like sake too. You know, sake is. It's kind of similar to beer, right? It's like a wine. Yeah. It's in like the same family.
Lex P
We used to put that crown apple in the Angry Orchard. Oh, baby. We used to cut up. We thought we was doing something.
Dre Nicole
I'm gonna have to run that back.
Lex P
It was so good. You said what?
Dre Nicole
I said, that's too sweet. You gonna get a cabbage.
Lex P
But you know what's crazy? I used to love sweet liquor. The thought. And Todd knows I hate sweet stuff.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
The thought of drinking something sweet irks my soul. But I used to love, like Crown Royal Apple was that girl.
Dre Nicole
It had the streets in a choke hole.
Lex P
A chokehold. But it was so sweet.
Dre Nicole
It was.
Lex P
And thick. Oh, that shit was thicker than me. It was on a Friday night.
Dre Nicole
It was very thick. And it was hard to find at first.
Lex P
It was so.
Dre Nicole
It's like if you found a bottle of Crown Apple, you was really on to something. You was really doing something, and you had to gatekeep the liquor store.
Lex P
I knew that crown Apple had the streets on lock. When I seen the strippers walking around with the Crown Apple bags to pick up their money, I said, oh, yeah, y'all got something.
Dre Nicole
They still be walking around with the bag.
Lex P
Still do.
Dre Nicole
But not the crown Apple. Just switch colors out. It's the OG purple one.
Lex P
The OG purple one. But when you had the green bag, you like, oh, she came to get that money. She came to get it.
Dre Nicole
When we was drinking Crown Apple, it was a time to be in the club for sure.
Lex P
Yeah, it was. We was just talking about fragrances. That's what we used to wear our Bath and Body Works. What Bath and body Works scent did you like?
Dre Nicole
Japanese cherry blossom.
Lex P
Ooh. He was an exotic queen.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. I feel like that was the beginning of my bad era, you know, like. And then of course, Victoria's Secret had everybody in a chokehold, I think. What was it called? The one I used to wear? Was it pure seduction? Oh, it was something like that.
Lex P
I remember that. It wasn't it? No, it wasn't pink, was it? Was it pink?
Dre Nicole
I can't even remember what color it was. I know love spell was purple.
Lex P
Love spell was purple. And it had me and my friends in a choke hold. Like, if you smelled like love spell, you were like that girl. We were all walking around. I mean, I used to beg my mom. Now, mind you, I grew up. Y'all know Orange, Texas. So we had to go all the way to Beaumont to get love spell. Cause we didn't have Victoria's Secret in orange. So if you were in orange, not sure.
Dre Nicole
I was going on road to her to get love.
Lex P
You were in Orange, Texas with some love spell on. You had that guap. You was guapped up. Don't I be with J Money serving everybody? Yes, I was with J Money getting that love spell.
Dre Nicole
Am so we going to a whole another season.
Lex P
Yes, we had to. We didn't have Victoria's Secret.
Dre Nicole
That's funny. I never really wore a love spell cuz I feel like it wasn't exclusive vanilla.
Lex P
No, it definitely was.
Dre Nicole
Everybody was wearing it.
Lex P
Everybody was wearing it.
Dre Nicole
So I used to be like, let me get some ns. And I like the vanilla one too.
Lex P
I don't remember the vanilla one.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, it was a vanilla one. I can't remember what it was called. It's been so long. I need to go Victoria's Secret and see what they got up in there.
Lex P
I know.
Dre Nicole
Cuz they probably do have some good everyday fragrances just to wear. Like if you don't want to put on something expensive stuff. Because like when I go to the gym, I wear a lot of the Soul de Janeiro.
Lex P
Oh yeah, you put. You put me on that.
Dre Nicole
And then Fleur has some really good inexpensive sprays too. So maybe I might go to Victoria's Secret and see what they got up in there. Little everyday body spray.
Lex P
Zara has some good ones too.
Dre Nicole
I like, I've never bought any of their body sprays. But Zara has this perfume called Ebony Wood if you like woody scents.
Lex P
Ebony Wood sounds freaky.
Dre Nicole
Okay, they have this. I like that they have this fragrance called Ebony Wood if you like woody scents. And it has had me in a chokehold for like the past few years. I like to mix it with a lot of my fragrances though, like layers. I don't ever really just wear it by itself cuz it's a little too woody to wear alone. But it's like a good addition if you have on another scent that's a little sweet.
Lex P
You get a little too deep in your bag when you get to talking about perfume, baby. You know you be talking about the scents and the layers and the flavors and the texturizer. I don't. Girl, I don't know. You know, I wear the same shit now.
Dre Nicole
La vie est belle.
Lex P
Hey, I've been wearing these. I promise y'all. I've been wearing Lex.
Dre Nicole
Love her some lavia. I'll switch it up and switch it up.
Lex P
That's it.
Dre Nicole
And Cassiopeia.
Lex P
This your three? Those are my three go tos. I don't switch it up. You know what's crazy? They all have the same. The patchouli in it. All of them have that. That's all I know. That's what I stick with. That's what rocks with me.
Dre Nicole
And see, Cassiopeia is another one of them. Since I remember when the dude at Saks who I be going to to get my fragrances or whatever, I remember he put me on Cassiopeia like maybe at this point like four years ago. And I feel like it was real exclusive. Nobody had it. That's another fragrance that now it's like baccarat. It is, yes. Everybody be wearing Cassiopeia. Absolutely. But that's why you got to get into a lot of the other fragrances, fragrance houses, because people be always going towards that one fragrance that's popular. But These fragrance houses be having so many other good scents. Like, Mason Francis has so many other good scenes outside of Baccarat.
Lex P
Baby, I didn't even know fragrances had homes that.
Dre Nicole
Yes, Tom Ford is a fragrance house. Well, I mean, Tom Ford has a lot of other things outside of fragrances, but, yeah, they're called fragrance house.
Lex P
Baby, that's still. I go to the apartment. I'm not trying to be in no fragrance house. Because, baby, that collection that you got is something.
Dre Nicole
Sirs. Oh, my little perfume baby.
Lex P
I just mind my business and stick to what I know.
Dre Nicole
I haven't really been buying any new fragrances lately, though, because I have so many to the point that I'm like, girl, you need to use some of these first before you start buying some more. It's because you don't. I don't. I think it's kind of crazy when people have whole rooms full of perfume, because how are you ever going to use all of that perfume? Like, I get that it's a collection, and, like, when people are collectors, they just like to collect, but I felt like I was kind of starting to get there.
Lex P
Does the bottle matter to you? The way the bottle looks? Yeah.
Dre Nicole
No.
Lex P
Yeah. Cause I see a lot of people be like, oh, I'm not buying that it smells good, but the bottle is so ugly, I can't do it.
Dre Nicole
No, I don't care about the bottle as long as the perfume smell good.
Lex P
Well, you know, I be seeing a lot of people on TikTok. It'll come up on my FYP and I'll just be watching. Cause I ain't buying none of that shit. There's a guy, actually, he talks about the spray of it, too. Like, how it comes out and them like, oh, this is a bad spray. Oh, this is a good spray and stuff. And I know personally, my lava bell sprays 10 out of 10.
Dre Nicole
Well, I will say this. I don't like. I don't like perfumes that come in, like, aerosol cans.
Lex P
Oh. Like the kind of. Like a. Like a body, like a light.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. I don't like when they come in, like a metal.
Lex P
Oh, okay. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And so it's this one fragrance company, Arabic one. I think it's months. I don't know if I'm saying it right. I don't know if it's Mantali or.
Lex P
I think I know what you're talking about.
Dre Nicole
But I never have bought one of their fragrances just because I don't like.
Lex P
Yep, I knew that. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
I don't like the Bottle. So maybe I am about the person.
Lex P
That's the one I was thinking about. Is that it is.
Dre Nicole
But people swear it smells so good. People say it smells so good.
Lex P
I heard that too, but yeah.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
Okay. All right. Now we done. I don't know how we got on fragrances.
Dre Nicole
You know, we always gon get off topic. That's what we do. First we went from talking about, you know, the originality of everybody having podcasts with their best friends now. And then some kind of underway. We started talking about love spell.
Lex P
And before we get to the topic, let me ask you a question. If you had to eat, I was having a conversation with somebody last night.
Dre Nicole
That little CBD shot be.
Lex P
If you had to eat fast food, One fast food place for the rest of your life. Like, you had no ch. What fast food place would you pick?
Dre Nicole
Let me see. Chick Fil A. Chick Fil A. And I don't eat chicken no more.
Lex P
But I feel like, so what would you do? Just eat fries so you could eat fries for the rest of your life?
Dre Nicole
Cause, I mean, when I think about it everywhere else, like, I haven't ate McDonald's in, like, a really, really long time. Like, years. I haven't ate Taco Bell in years.
Lex P
You missing out. You done passed up fine, fine cuisine.
Dre Nicole
Well, I have heard that they have an elite new menu, man. What? I've heard the new menu is elite.
Lex P
Oh, yeah.
Dre Nicole
I mean, when they be reviewing it on TikTok, people be wearing little chicken.
Lex P
Dippers that you rip apart.
Dre Nicole
Oh, no. And see, that's the thing. I think it's weird when people get stuff like, why would you get chicken dippers from Taco Bell? No, it's like.
Lex P
Cause it's like. It's chicken. It's like a quesadilla. Oh. And it's wrapped up and it got cheese on the outside, and it's real melty, and you dip it in the little sauce.
Dre Nicole
Not, you know, about all they new menu.
Lex P
I'm telling you, I need a membership at Taco Bell so I can be a platinum member.
Dre Nicole
Okay?
Lex P
They gonna have to pry Taco Bell from my cold, dead hands back.
Dre Nicole
So I'm assuming that that's your answer. It's Taco Bell.
Lex P
Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
Dre Nicole
That's wild.
Lex P
Taco Bell is so good, and I'm not ashamed of it. For a while, I tried to act like, oh, I don't eat that. Ew, girl, fuck y'all.
Dre Nicole
I don't ever. But I don't even know why you was ever acting like that? Cause you don't be fucking up Taco Bell.
Lex P
I fuck up Taco Bell, but you.
Dre Nicole
Not scared of the mystery meat.
Lex P
I'm not. I done put mystery meat in my mout.
Dre Nicole
No.
Lex P
Okay, all right, all right, all right. Tough crowd. Okay, okay, okay.
Dre Nicole
All I'm saying is mystery meat in your mouth is.
Lex P
I'm just saying Taco Bell has variety. The variety of sauces, variety of drinks, variety of what meat you like. You want steak, ground beef, chicken, beef over there.
Dre Nicole
Go ahead.
Lex P
I'm telling you, it is top tier. And then don't let you go to the Taco Bell cantina. They got margaritas in that now.
Dre Nicole
You know what I really did used to like from Taco Bell? The Diablo sauce.
Lex P
But the beauty.
Dre Nicole
But the beauty of being in 2025. They sell all of these sauces and stuff in the store. So you could just make yourself a healthier version of Taco Bell at home. Get you some real meat where you know what you putting in your mouth. Not mystery meat. And you can still get the Diablo sauce. Some tomatoes that are ripe, not the ones that are white.
Lex P
I don't like tomatoes anyway.
Dre Nicole
Because I don't know why the tomatoes at Taco Bell are always white.
Lex P
I've never. Every time, they don't look ripe. I don't eat tomatoes. You know, I hate tomatoes. Oh, yeah, you don't.
Dre Nicole
You don't like raw tomatoes.
Lex P
I've never seen a tomato from Taco Bell.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, good point.
Lex P
I get a Mexican pizza, extra cheese, no tomatoes.
Dre Nicole
You do have a good point there. Yeah. I don't know. It's Taco Bell is a. No, it's a hard pass for me. But Chick Fil a used to be my favorite fast food restaurant.
Lex P
Okay, that's fair. That's fair.
Dre Nicole
I would go to Chick Fil a like three, four times a week. They was getting all my money.
Lex P
I'm not gonna lie. That tortilla soup, that tortilla button bussing. But somebody grandma be making that Mac and cheese at Chick Fil A too.
Dre Nicole
That Mac and cheese is good. I mean, they have a lot of great menu items. That peach milkshake that they be having in the summertime.
Lex P
I ain't heard of that.
Dre Nicole
It's real good.
Lex P
I ain't heard of that.
Dre Nicole
Okay, now, but yeah, or Wendy's maybe.
Lex P
See, I don't like Wendy's. They fries is trash.
Dre Nicole
I like they chicken nuggets.
Lex P
Okay? They spicy.
Dre Nicole
The spicy nuggets. The spicy chicken nuggets. And I used to Fuck up. What is it called? The little dollar. The little doll. Four for four.
Lex P
Four for four.
Dre Nicole
But it's a name for. It's a little burger. But Biggie Junior. The jun. The little Biggie Junior Burger. Shay, I used to up a mini Junior burger. A frosty.
Lex P
Yeah, a frost. Now I like the frosty.
Dre Nicole
Frosties be busting. So, I mean, I don't know. Wendy's might be a shop.
Lex P
Wendy's. It's not a variety.
Dre Nicole
What you want.
Lex P
You got to think about the menu. Taco Bell. You can go there for every day for a month, not repeat nothing, and have fine, fine dining every day. No, ma'am. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Dre Nicole
Calling it fine dining is absolutely insane. Is that a fish filet?
Lex P
Shay loves fish fillet.
Dre Nicole
Oh, we know it will be McDonald's for Shay. Double fish filet, y'all.
Lex P
I have a. Every time I think when somebody says fish filet, I think of my mom. I think I told this story.
Dre Nicole
Your mom like fish fillet?
Lex P
My mom. My mom used to love fish filets. My mom loves fish fillets so much.
Dre Nicole
My mother is queen, just like Shay.
Lex P
When she was younger, my great aunt, she used to babysit her daughter. Her. My mom's what? That was her cousin, I guess she used to babysit her. She would pay her in filet o fish. And my mom would be excited. Like, when I used to come home, sometimes I used to bring a little filet. She filet o fish. She'd be like, that's why you my favorite daughter. Okay, all right. Jasmine, you ain't never brought Mama a flail fish.
Dre Nicole
I ain't mad at that. Cause if somebody paid me some chick fil a nuggets, I probably would have been happy, too.
Lex P
And I think we also need to have the conversation how Pizza Hut has the best pizza. Come on now. That crust is golden.
Dre Nicole
You know, that's debatable.
Lex P
Who got better pizza than Pizza hood?
Dre Nicole
Papa John's. Better ingredients, better pizza. Papa John's.
Lex P
Papa John's thinks you're a hard er. I don't forget Papa.
Dre Nicole
Y'all need to pay me for that.
Lex P
Papa John, remember he called us the hard er.
Dre Nicole
I don't eat Papa John's anymore. I don't really eat pizza like that anymore. But when I was younger and I used to like pizza because I used to be a person that would eat pizza. Like, pizza is probably one of my favorite foods.
Lex P
Pizza is so good now that I'm.
Dre Nicole
Trying to be healthier. I just don't really eat pizza like.
Lex P
You eat like cauliflower with spinach.
Dre Nicole
No, but when I would get pizza, I'm not gonna lie, I'm trying to think of the last time I've had pizza. Probably when we had it up here and they had Domino's or something. But I had a cheese.
Lex P
I don't do Domino's sliced pizza.
Dre Nicole
But Edgewood pizza is good.
Lex P
They got Edgewood pizza is fire.
Dre Nicole
What's the name of that place that was by my house that is closed now? Da Vinci's. Da Vinci's was good.
Lex P
Da Vinci's was busting.
Dre Nicole
So, like, I'm not gonna lie, I'm more of like a local pizza person. I don't really order from, like, Papa John's Pizza Hut whenever I do.
Lex P
Pizza Hut is really good. But I will say Papa John's. They got the garlic butter on lock. That garlic sauce on Papa John's is top tier. Here it is. All right, that's.
Dre Nicole
But you don't like Domino's.
Lex P
I'm not a Domino's girl. Now, I do like their cheese bread.
Dre Nicole
They have good cheese bread.
Lex P
Their cheese bread is top 10. But when we talk about crust, the ratio of cheese to sauce. Pizza Hut just got it on lock and see.
Dre Nicole
But Pizza Hut got nasty wings. They wings so nasty.
Lex P
I don't. I don't. I'm not a wing girl myself. But if I do eat wings, I'm going to JR Cricket Crickets. Now, if we talking about wings, Junior.
Dre Nicole
Crickets got good wings. But I guess I was thinking of a more national place.
Lex P
Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, damn. I feel sorry for y'all if y'all have never had Junior Crickets, man.
Dre Nicole
JR Crickets has good wings. For sure.
Lex P
Is a grand.
Dre Nicole
No, she was not agreeing. She wasn't.
Lex P
You don't like. You don't like JR Crickets. That's what you need because you know that's a real chicken. No, y'all be liking the Arnold Schwarzenegger ass chicken. That's y'all problem. Bulk it up, baby. No, I like me a little bitty wings.
Dre Nicole
You know, Todd, and normally we be on the same page. I don't want no fat ass chicken wing. No.
Lex P
For a million dollars.
Dre Nicole
For them six wings. Yeah.
Lex P
Pick it up. Now, they are expensive. By the time you order a fish plate with six wings, some fries and a cold drink, baby, that's your rent. Yeah. Yeah. That's your rent. JR Crickets is expensive. Y'all need to come down on them goddamn prices. Fast food restaurant that you.
Dre Nicole
I honestly don't eat a lot of fast Food. But if I had to, it would be Chick Fil, A, Wendy's, or Popeyes. Oh, I forget about Popeyes. Cause I used to fuck up some Popeyes. Little red beans and rice.
Lex P
Oh, my gosh. So I'm.
Dre Nicole
Chicken strip. Yep.
Lex P
New Orleans. New Orleans listeners.
Dre Nicole
Spicy.
Lex P
Please don't get mad at me right now. I hate when people from New Orleans say the Popeyes on Canal street taste different. Cause it don't.
Dre Nicole
But it do, though.
Lex P
It don't.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, they be putting Little. If I was tasting somebody Grandma with me, it's somebody Auntie Mama and Grandma in that kitchen.
Lex P
It do not taste different to me.
Dre Nicole
It don't really taste that different to me. But Willie's, though.
Lex P
Now Willy's Chicken Shack.
Dre Nicole
Now Willie's Chicken Shack in New Orleans.
Lex P
Man, what that chicken? That. Red beans and rice.
Dre Nicole
And then red beans and rice so good.
Lex P
I went to Willy's. I said, give me the biggest cup of red beans and rice. You got away. Oh, I had Shay can attest to this. I had about 10 stacks of them Styrofoam bowls on my dresser. You did. You did.
Dre Nicole
You did.
Lex P
I remember I was fucking them up. Oh, I was messing it up.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, Willie's is good, but, I mean, yeah, Popeyes would have been a contender for me, too.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
I used to eat Popeyes a lot.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Especially when we was at that old studio off of Metropolitan. There was a Popeyes right there before. Before you got on the freeway.
Lex P
And it was a Taco Bell across the street. I used to be trying to dip over there before somebody saw me.
Dre Nicole
It was a Taco Bell. See, I was like. It was.
Lex P
I be trying to hurry up, Lisa. All right, y'all, I gotta go. Gotta go to somewhere trying to get the Taco Bell for y'all. Leave a goddamn sushi.
Dre Nicole
Oh, no. Taco Bell just ain't never did it for me like that.
Lex P
I love me some Taco Bell. All right, let's get to the first topic. Dre. God damn it. What's up, y'all? It's your girl xp, and it's your.
Dre Nicole
Girl Dre and Nicole.
Lex P

And we have a very exciting announcement today. We have a brand new show dropping. Yes.
Dre Nicole
So we have a brand new show dropping y'all on Patreon. It's gonna air on September 2nd, and it's called Poor Chronicles. We're gonna be doing so much stuff on there. We're gonna be doing challenges. If you can't go to Bella, no. Where the hell could you go?
Lex P
If you can't go to Bella Noche.
Dre Nicole
What the hell we gonna be doing? And talk to me. Chitchat with me. We going to be spilling a little tea.
Lex P
Oh, my God. No, you didn't. Oh, my God.
Dre Nicole
Everything y'all been wanting to see, we going to be doing it right here on Patreon.
Lex P
Yes. Y'all ask us for so much. Well, we f to give it to y'all every single Monday. And it's going to be a time y'all know Poor Mods has grown into its own little entity where we going to have have a lot of fun still over here at Poor Chronicles. So make sure y'all tune in September 2nd. It's going down.
Dre Nicole
Okay, so for the first topic, we're going to talk about scamming a little bit. So, like, what's one scam that you lowkey respect?
Lex P
Okay, so a scam that I respect. I'm not gonna lie. First of all, stealing is wrong. You know, I'm not telling y'all to go out here and do anything that didn't sound believable. Cause I don't want people to be like, well, Dre and Lex said it was okay, so this is what I should be doing. And I just did. Like I said, I did an episode of Scam Goddess shout out to Lacey a few weeks ago. And I truly believe that. One thing that I hate thieves. Okay, let me just start off by saying that. But one thing that I see people do that I don't care about, doesn't bother me is like, when people steal from like, Walmart or like a Publix. Like when they do the self talk.
Dre Nicole
Oh, they're stealing for real? Yeah.
Lex P
That's a scam, bitch.
Dre Nicole
What?
Lex P
That's a scam.
Dre Nicole
I was thinking, like, when people be selling they food stamps, this bitch talking about really going in the store.
Lex P
But no, sometimes people go and steal. Like, we've seen the people that'll go into like, Ulta or Sephora, and they'll steal a bunch of like, makeup items and they'll sell them boosters. Boosters. I don't feel bad for that. We taking back from the man what he took from us. Okay? So I'm not mad at that. I'm not mad at the booster stealing. I'm not mad if you're stealing for your household eggs is 69, 99. Get it how you live. Okay? But now if you go into, like a mom and pop shop, you know, like, I don't, like, don't steal from them. But these big corporations, I don't give a damn. They have whole. What are they called? Prevention. What are they called? Loss prevention. Loss prevention is a whole department that gets paid millions of dollars. They'll be all right. They will be all right.
Dre Nicole
They gonna chase your ass out the store too. That happened to me one time.
Lex P
You know what scam that I used to do? I know you. Cause Drea doesn't scream, right? I know when they used to chase you, I used to you be like, hell. Oh, my God.
Dre Nicole
No, I just used to be like, what is going on?
Lex P
Jarreah. Hi. What's up?
Dre Nicole
You need something?
Lex P
But another scam that I respect. And then I'm gonna let you answer. So this doesn't. I don't know because I don't go to the bank, the drive through banks anymore. But when I used to work at the club and bartend, I used to obviously have a lot of money. So I Would deposit the money in the bank. So when I would go to the driver bank, this happened to me like, five or six times, y'all. I would deposit so much money in there, it would say, oh, like, the machine would be like, couldn't count your money, right? Please call to verify how much money it was. So the first time I did it, I verified the exact amount that I had, and they put that exact amount in my account immediately. And I was like, damn, what if I. I reported a little bit more? I was like, damn. And literally, like, a few months went by and it happened again. And I was like, okay, let me report just, like, an extra, like, $50, $100. And be like, oh, if they say something, I just miscounted it wrong. Happened again. I reported, like, an extra fifteen hundred dollars. Nothing happened. And it was like. Cause every time I would make sure I stuffed a bunch of money in there, like, to mess up the machine. Child, the third time I did it, I remember I started adding, like, an extra 5, 6, $700.
Dre Nicole
Bitch, have it been 10 years? Is the statute of limitations over for that?
Lex P
It's your fault. I don't know if it's closed anyway.
Dre Nicole
I'm like, I don't know if you should be saying that on the show, incriminating yourself.
Lex P
I mean, yeah, it has been 10 years. I'm 35 now, bitch. I was. I ain't.
Dre Nicole
It might be 20.
Lex P
Hey, you ain't lie. So, yeah, that was a scam that I did. But y'all are the banks, y'all. All right. So I think sometimes when you are. I was a broke college student. I needed that 500. I needed it. Y'all don't need. Y'all is not gonna miss that $500. Money really ain't real anyway. Especially now. It's really. It's digital shit.
Dre Nicole
Ain't real.
Lex P
Y'all can add a little. Y'all can just move that decimal.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, see, like I said I was gonna say, like, when people be selling their food stamps, I don't see anything wrong with it.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Cause I feel like if they give you a certain amount of food stamps and you trying to get money for it, you trying to get cash for it, because you know that you're not gonna end up using them all before the end of the month, I don't see nothing wrong with it.
Lex P
Yeah, I think that's.
Dre Nicole
I think that that's an okay scam. I think scams where you're not really, like, hurting anybody or stealing, like, personally, I think stealing Is wrong now.
Lex P
Okay, now, all right.
Dre Nicole
Don't forget that part. It's wrong now.
Lex P
Okay. All right.
Dre Nicole
You know you shouldn't do that, right?
Lex P
I think any scam that you do, that's against these corporations. I don't mind if I'm being quite honest, but if you're. I don't like when people are scamming people, like, on the phone to get their bank information. Yeah, y'all been texting me, talking about, I got a tollway ticket in Houston. Baby, I ain't lived in Houston in years.
Dre Nicole
And especially when I be doing it to the senior citizens. My mama be calling me every other day, nervous.
Lex P
Y'all be stressing my poor mama out.
Dre Nicole
She be calling me every other day, telling me about some scam she seen on the news and be telling me to be careful. And I be like, girl, I'm gonna be. She be like, don't be responding to them tics. And I be like, why would I respond to the tics?
Lex P
She trying to make sure her baby.
Dre Nicole
Girl know she do be trying to make sure. But I be like, you make sure you don't respond to the text. I know not to respond when I be hitting them tick.
Lex P
Oh, my gosh. Yeah. I think scams like that when you're trying to. Like when y'all send. I just want y'all to get a job. That's all. I want y'all to just go work. Just go get a job.
Dre Nicole
Get your fucking ass up and work. Yes.
Lex P
Come on. Like, I just think it's so. Y'all be sending text messages all day, preying on people. Like, to me, that is so weird.
Dre Nicole
And I think it's bad when you steal, like, big stuff. Like, I don't know, like, going up in the store, stealing TVs and stuff. I just feel like you ain't got no type of cool.
Lex P
Yeah, you just looking for.
Dre Nicole
Rolling out with TVs your part. That's insane. I mean, I. A little lip gloss, a little mascara. Maybe I've stole that back in my day.
Lex P
They be rolling out with. Dropping in my purse and scammed a tomato for it.
Dre Nicole
Bitch, that be you.
Lex P
Not a tv, though.
Dre Nicole
Not a tv.
Lex P
I'll at least scan like a.
Dre Nicole
You say you be stealing.
Lex P
If I had to steal a tv.
Dre Nicole
Tv.
Lex P
If I had to steal a tv, what would I scan for that? That's kind of like, close. Oh, eggs. If I'm trying to steal a tv, I'll scan some eggs.
Dre Nicole
Bitch, you ain't making it off the stove. Loss prevention gonna be on your tail, bitch.
Lex P
But you know what? Honestly, now I order my groceries online. I can't remember the last time I went grocery shopping, to be honest. Yeah, you know what I mean?
Dre Nicole
I ain't going to Whole Foods now. Them Whole Foods, them Whole Foods eggs Be like $30, bro.
Lex P
Them little bitty ass quail eggs be expensive too. But they so good. Are they arguing?
Dre Nicole
And I was just about to say, why would you want to eat a quail egg Collaborate.
Lex P
Well, the yolk is very rich, so that's even harder. I love like avocado toast with a sunny side up egg. So I was just trying it to see if I liked it, but it was really good. I was surprised, but that yolk is really rich.
Dre Nicole
It's thick.
Lex P
I mean, yeah, it's thick, but I cook it sunny side up. But it's not like too, too runny. It's just like a little bit of runny.
Dre Nicole
But how many do you need? Because I assume you can't just use one.
Lex P
No, you do like two. Yeah, you do like two on the avocado toast. It be good though. Oh, it'd be really good. Yeah, it's good. Okay. It's good.
Dre Nicole
I believe you. I probably won't be trying these.
Lex P
You know, I did it a few times.
Dre Nicole
Something about a quail egg ain't sitting right with my.
Lex P
Have you ever seen the ostrich egg?
Dre Nicole
I have. They're huge.
Lex P
Now that's too much egg.
Dre Nicole
What are those eggs called that the. Is it Koreans be eating? What is it?
Lex P
Beru. Oh my God.
Dre Nicole
Let me make sure the egg with.
Lex P
The chicken in it.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, let me make sure I'm pronouncing it right.
Lex P
I'm not going to lie. Because one thing I'll say, I'm not ignorant when it comes to other cultures and other foods. So I don't make fun of it. I don't say it's gross. But it is just so interesting to me. Cuz I wonder the first balut. Balut.
Dre Nicole
Balut.
Lex P
That's what it is.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
I was just.
Dre Nicole
I know it was something that start with a.
Lex P
Interested. Like when the first person who ate a balut egg, like what was going through your mind? Cuz they be eating the head like a balut egg is like the chicken was infertilized.
Dre Nicole
A hard boiled egg. Fertilized duck eggs that contain a partially developed embryo.
Lex P
Yeah. So it be like they be slurping it. They be slurping it. But they say it's good.
Dre Nicole
They do say it's good.
Lex P
I hear it's good. They be seasoning it, putting soy sauce in it and stuff. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
You know, and I feel like it don't matter how much soy sauce you put on it. Absolutely not.
Lex P
I think it would just be, like, the bones that threw me off.
Dre Nicole
That's what you think with all you off?
Lex P
Yeah. I'll try anything.
Dre Nicole
That's it. Just the bones.
Lex P
Just the bones I like to try.
Dre Nicole
It would be something about eating an embryo that would throw me off. Like, just knowing.
Lex P
You don't want to know.
Dre Nicole
You can see it. You can see it in there.
Lex P
I mean, yeah, I've done a lot.
Dre Nicole
Are you looking it up, Ty?
Lex P
There. It's really graphic. It is.
Dre Nicole
You can see it.
Lex P
The reason. I mean, I just feel like I could try it. I've done worse to my own embryo.
Dre Nicole
I wonder. I wonder if somebody ever opened it.
Lex P
Okay, tough. Y'all being real tough today. That's. You know, let's relax and lighten the mood. Okay. All right, now keep going. Continue.
Dre Nicole
Cause what.
Lex P
I'm just saying. I'm just saying. I treat a balut egg better than my own.
Dre Nicole
I done lost my goddamn train of thought, because, bitch, we just go to Ty.
Lex P
Okay, what are we trying?
Dre Nicole

Lex has some vodka. We are gonna add some grapefruit. I muddled some cucumbers and jalapenos. So we have a little bit of kick of spice. Spice. A little bit of lime juice. And I actually made a cucumber syrup, so that's in there. Give it a, like, refreshing taste.
Lex P
Oh, this is good.
Dre Nicole
And then we topped it with a sparkling water mixed with grapefruit and lime. Sparkling water together. I gave the rim a celery salt mixed with tajin. It's a little paprika, a little salt there. And then we garnished it with some cucumbers and jalapeno coins. So this is very refreshing.
Lex P
It is good. Thank you, Ty.
Dre Nicole
So welcome, Travel.
Lex P
How did you make the cucumber serve up?
Dre Nicole
Just kind of. I made some, like. I used agave, actually, for that one, and then let the cucumber set in it. And then I actually added a couple jalapenos, but I don't feel like it was that spicy.
Lex P
Yeah, yeah, it's good.
Dre Nicole
It's good. You know I love spicy.
Lex P
Anyways, though, you do love a spicy drink. You love everything.
Dre Nicole

Dre Nicole
About to ask you too real quick is like, what is a scam that you think is legendary? Because I know when it is. They come to my mind.
Lex P
A legendary scam. Okay. They didn't join Joanne. The scammer.
Dre Nicole
The scammer.
Lex P
So this is a legendary scam to me because just how young that they were, y'all. There's a movie called American Animals and it's about these kids who were in college. It's such a great movie. And they came up with like a big heist to steal one of the most valued books in like art history that was at their college. And they, the things, the hoops that they jumped through to do this. And it was really kind of low key, like a perfect plan. I don't want to give the movie away because it's based on the true story. So it was one of those things that happened. I'm like, why would y'all ever think of this being college students? And they would have got away with it. But you have to watch the movie. But that's probably like one of my favorite scams because if you try to steal art, seriously, like stealing art is very crazy if you think about that. So y'all have to watch American Animals. This is a really, really good movie.
Dre Nicole
I've seen that movie before. Yeah, I was gonna say when they used to have them signs, you should be here.
Lex P
Oh, but was that a good scam?
Dre Nicole
Cause everybody, everybody was doing it while it was running, while it was up and running. They was making a lot of money.
Lex P
Oh, my God. Whoever owned it.
Dre Nicole
I don't know who owned it, though.
Lex P
I know. I wonder whoever started that, what they're doing now.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I wonder what they doing. Probably on an island. Probably on an island out the country with a new name.
Lex P
I need to tell Lacey on Scam Goddess to do an episode about that. Cuz she gets deep in her research and she'll find it. Because you got to think about that. Everybody was like, what are you doing right now? You're doing nothing. You should be here.
Dre Nicole
And they will be on the beach. On a beach with that big ass blue sign.
Lex P
Oh my. That was a good one.
Dre Nicole
Everybody was doing it too. It was so many people on my timeline, they would be popping up out the blue every day. I would get on Instagram, somebody knew on their story, you should be here. I'd be like, oh, they got you too.
Lex P
See, that's how I know you. Smart. Smart. Because I. I used to be like me. Should I be there?
Dre Nicole
So why you never joined?
Lex P
I don't know.
Dre Nicole
Scared Money don't make no money.
Lex P
Oh, I made some money eventually.
Dre Nicole
But I'm saying, why you ain't joining it?
Lex P
I just, I don't know.
Dre Nicole
On the beat.
Lex P
But I always used to look at them like, wow, they're living the life. I want to be there.
Dre Nicole
I don't know. I was one of those people. I was always very skeptical about a lot of things. I thought everything was a scam. Maybe it was cuz of my mama, cuz she think everything is so. I just never used the trust that they would be making money like this.
Lex P
I think the people that I saw doing it, though, it wasn't convincing because I'm like, I know you broke. I know you are.
Dre Nicole
So I feel people I knew was broke too.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And I just was. I just used to try to figure out, like, how exactly are y'all making money? But you know, things like that are called pyramid schemes. Right. And that's a scam.
Lex P
Yeah, pyramid schemes are. So I think that's kind of why I didn't ever sign up for it though, because I already knew about pyramid schemes because I remember mine.
Dre Nicole
Because basically you're making money because all of these people are signing up under you, paying a membership fee.
Lex P
Right, Right.
Dre Nicole
That's how you're making money.
Lex P
Right. And I remember a long time ago, my friend was like, oh, my gosh, I'm gonna go. I got this meeting. I want you to come along with me. This guy I met, he's like a business. He's like A millionaire and he's gonna put us on and whatever you need as far as your business. Like, oh, you trying to do media. He knows a bunch of people in the industry. And all this stuff like sold me this dream. And it was like, what was that business called? It was like Amtrak's or something. Do y'all remember Amtrak?
Dre Nicole
What is Amtrak?
Lex P
But it's basically like they sell everything like groceries, food and all this stuff. But it's basically the same thing. You sign people up. It's kind of like Mary Kay. Okay, but I don't want to say Mary Kay because Mary Kay is kind of. But it's not. But it, you know, but it's kind of the same thing. Like that was. And I would just like, girl, I ain't not finna sell no goddamn fruit roll ups. I'm trying to get in the media. I'm thinking I'm finna be some ra. I'm thinking J. Mac finna be here or somebody.
Dre Nicole
Not J. Maci Somebody shout out to J. Mac. You know what I'm saying?
Lex P
I was so mad. So I know how to recognize a pyramid scheme from a mile away.
Dre Nicole
When I used to sell insurance, I thought that was a scam.
Lex P
Yeah, yeah, it can be.
Dre Nicole
I used to go door to door. I did that she for like two weeks. And I went to like three houses.
Lex P
Yeah, because. And then they make you do a whole interview process.
Dre Nicole
Well, they make you do a whole interview process. And then even once you get like somebody to sign the policy or whatever, or you get somebody to sign up for the life insurance, you still have to wait like a whole month or two before you get paid for it. So then like if the person ends up canceling or if anything just ends up happening, you won't end end up getting paid. And it's only commission based. So basically you going to work for free every day It'll be like 50 people in a hot ass room.
Lex P
Oh my God.
Dre Nicole
Making phone calls, cold calls. You will literally have a list of phone numbers to call. And I was just like, you know what?
Lex P
I respect everybody hustle, but this is not for me.
Dre Nicole
This just ain't for me though. I don't got it in me.
Lex P
I remember when I went on a job interview one time, they're like, oh, this is a marketing job.
Dre Nicole
They love to call it a market.
Lex P
God, you, you. I'm like, oh, six figures, wow. Oh, it's commission based. Girl, I must have ran out that building so quick.
Dre Nicole
And then they love to get the CEO to come and give you an inspirational motivational talk with that big ass suit on. I started off only getting one sale. I was sitting six months, I was working here and I was calling people from those cold call list and I only made one sale in six months and now I'm worth $50 million. This could be you.
Lex P
I was.
Dre Nicole
You just have to keep going right where you were. You just have to keep going. I know it gets rough. I know you might not want to make the calls, but just do it. Because what if I would have gave up? I wouldn't have my beautiful wife and my seven kids and my ten million.
Lex P
Dollar home in my big ass suit.
Dre Nicole
In my big ass teeth.
Lex P
They love a big ass suit, bitch.
Dre Nicole
And some big ass teeth.
Lex P
Oh my God. I was sitting. But you know What? It'll be 10 no's. All you need is one. Yes, one.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. I was like, fuck that. And then they got the other people who work there that are like managers who done has a few sales and now they managers. So they be hype about they position because they think they moved up. Cause they feel like they gonna eventually be like the CEO. It's just awesome. Scamming shit to me. Like, I don't know, I just.
Lex P
There's not an easy way to make money.
Dre Nicole
It's not night.
Lex P
So if you ever hear something that's too good to be true. I'm sorry to be negative, Nancy. It's too good to be true.
Dre Nicole

Dre Nicole

Lex P
All right, next topic. This is interesting. So the topic is would you rather be rich and stressed or broke and peaceful? So if we break it down like you rich and stressed, like yeah, you got the money but you know, at what cost? Cost broken, peaceful, you know, you have no debt, no work stress, no toxic Job drama. But you don't get luxury vacations, no shopping sprees, no eating out just because you can't do nothing. But you. You at peace. You're at peace. So would you rather be rich and stressed or broke and peaceful?
Dre Nicole
Ain't no such thing as being broken peaceful, but that you cannot. You cannot change the hypothetical. If you are broke, you have no peace.
Lex P
But you can't change the hypothetical. Drea, that's not the hypothetical. The hypothetical is that you're really.
Dre Nicole
I'm telling you my answer.
Lex P
The.
Dre Nicole
I'm telling you I don't feel like you could be broken peaceful. So I'm gonna choose to be rich over anything. Because I feel like if you're rich and stressed, you could buy peace.
Lex P
No, you can't.
Dre Nicole
You can't.
Lex P
No, you can't.
Dre Nicole
You could buy a little piece of peace, girl.
Lex P
A piece.
Dre Nicole
Piece of. A piece. You could. You could buy a little piece of piece. You could start going to therapy. That's. Yes, yes. You literally can. You can start going to therapy. You can start doing the work. You could go on some retreats.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
It's a lot that you could do. When you have money, if you're stressed, to work on your stress, you can. A lot of people are stressed because they don't know how to manage the stress. I feel like you can figure out how to manage your stress, especially if you have some money. If you are broke, you ain't at peace. I know that for a fact. You can't be. You ain't got no money. You can't even pay your bills.
Lex P
See this.
Dre Nicole
Why you peaceful?
Lex P
This is. I have a little different view on that, though. So my first thing is, if you're rich and stressed, you know, obviously you have a busy schedule and this and that. But, you know, one thing that scares me is, first of all, people don't. Stress can kill you.
Dre Nicole
Absolutely.
Lex P
So if you're rich and stressed, you can't even enjoy the fruits of your labor. Because I think it's crazy when I see rich people, people who work so hard, but you can't even enjoy yourself because you're so stressed out from trying to get to the money. But what I do also see that a lot of these people, like, if you go, and I know it sounds so cliche, but if you go to a lot of these, like, villages, like when we went to Palenque, and you see these people who don't have much, and they don't have much of nothing, and they are extremely happy. So I think sometimes the environment that we live in, the capitalism and our environment has taught us that you have to have all these materialistic things to be happy. So I do see where you're coming from. Cause in the life I live, I could not be broke and peaceful. I couldn't. But that's because this is the environment I was raised in. And in America that's what we teach you. But I do think on the other side that there is a life that looks like I don't have much, but I'm at peace because I don't need all that stuff. So I don't know what I would pick honestly, because I don't want to be stressed because stress can kill you. But I don't want to be broke either.
Dre Nicole
I don't want to be stressed either. But again, I think you can manage stress. You could better learn how to manage stress. That's not something that it didn't say you could do.
Lex P
Right.
Dre Nicole
You know what I mean? So it's like okay, if you're rich but you're stressed out, figure out a way to manage your stress. Now you just gonna be rich in that now see versus I don't know, like, I just think that when you are broke, if you cannot afford things, life is expensive. I just don't see how you could be peaceful.
Lex P
Yeah, yeah.
Dre Nicole
And like I get what you're saying about, you know, using the example like when we went to Palinque and stuff, that's fine. But I'm sure it's a lot of people. I feel like happiness is relative. Like do we really know if people are really happy? You never know. It could be a lot of people who wish, who wanted, who, who live there, but they still want more. But yeah, if this is your circumstance, if this is what you were born into, I think some people find a way to just be okay with the environment that they were born into. But at the end of the day I, I personally always think it's human nature to just want more.
Lex P
I don't think that's true though. I think that's you want more and that's okay and that's why you've exceed have achieved that. But I think a lot of people, you don't. I think we don't understand some things because that's how our mind works. But we have to truly understand that some people are really, they don't want more. They are really okay with that. They don't want to be on TV or have travel the world. They don't want to see things. They are Literally okay with where they're at. You know what I'm saying? So I think it's hard for us to understand because we want that. We want everything and we feel like it's so great and it's so fun. One, how could you not want this? But there are people that have completely different thought processes from us.
Dre Nicole
But when I think of more, I don't necessarily think of somebody looking at more, being traveling or being on tv. You could want more for whatever it is that your goal is in life. Like somebody who lives in a small village, their goal might be just to be able to buy a home, buy an actual home with air conditioner. That could be a goal for them.
Lex P
I do.
Dre Nicole
I think most people want more. People's definition of more varies from person to person based off of the life that you want. But I think most people want more in life. Nobody wants to just be in a fucked up situation. I think the problem is a lot of people don't know how to get themselves out of those situations or they don't have the resources.
Lex P
But I also think too, it's probably not a fucked up situation to them or wanting more. They probably feel like they have it all. If they live in a village and they're like, you know, my family's here, we're all healthy. You know, we wake up, we go get our water, we have our cat, whatever that they're doing, that's probably, they have achieved more. Some people really view their lives like I have everything I've ever wanted, you know what I'm saying? So that's why I said I see both ways. Because the life I live, if I'm being honest, I would rather be rich and strict. 1,000% stress me, baby. Like I'm gonna be stressed. I'm going to therapy because you know why? The reason I said that, I've been broke before and I'm not going back at all. Not going back. But I think that's because of the environment I was raised in. I can't say how I would be if I grew up somewhere else. I don't know what I would be content. I wasn't. I was never content. As a child. I always wanted to get out of Orange. I never wanted to be there. I've always wanted more. But that's me, you know what I'm saying? A lot of people are like me, but there are people who are completely opposite. There are some people who are still in Orange, Texas that feel like this is what I wanted. I did that. I grew up Graduated from Little Cypress, and I'm here. I'm living in my nice little apartment. I got my husband, I got my kids, and I'm content with this. I'm happy. I'm not rich, but I'm content with my life. I did what I wanted to do. You know what I'm saying? So I think there are two sides to the coin. But if I had to pick, yeah, I'm gonna be rich and stressed. I'm gonna be. I'm sorry. I'm gonna be like, dre, I'm gonna go to therapy. I'm gonna go to retreat, baby.
Dre Nicole
I'm gonna get the best therapist money can buy.
Lex P
Agreed. I do agree with that.
Dre Nicole
Y'all gonna see me in Bali.
Lex P
Yeah, I do agree.
Dre Nicole
Eat, pray, love.
Lex P
I'm definitely, when I turn 40, working on my breathing. When I turn 40, I cannot wait to take my eat, pray, love moments. Like, I look forward to stuff like that. But I do think there is. Is a lot of peace that you can find that's beyond of the wanting more. I think I talked about this on the show. I can't remember. I saw a tik Tok video of this old woman, and she was talking, and she said, at some point, you have to stop and enjoy your life. She said, I'm 80 years old, and every time I had something, it was like, okay, but I'll be happy when I get this, then I'll be happy. When I get this, then I'll be happy. She said, I lived my whole entire life trying to reach goals.
Dre Nicole
Goals.
Lex P
And she was like, now I'm 80. And I'm like, I spent my whole life chasing things. I never enjoyed what I had. So I think that we do have to find a lot of peace in being happy where. Where we are right now. Still chase your goals, but just have that balance. I think. I think a lot of times we get caught up in, like, oh, I want to be a millionaire. You hit one now. Oh, I gotta hit five now I got five. I gotta hit 10. Or whatever the case may be. You've got a podcast, you got 1,000 views, and now you always work towards something, but sometimes it's okay to take a moment and clap for yourself and enjoy where you're at right now. So I do think we need to find a balance of that. Yeah. Like being at peace, but also kind of, you know, it's all right to be a little working towards something, but also being at peace at where you are in life.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. And I don't know. I feel like you can have both. Like I hate when people try to ask, would you rather be this or would you rather be that? Why I can't be rich and happy as hell?
Lex P
Cuz it's a lot, I think because.
Dre Nicole
I think, why the fuck not?
Lex P
Well, because you know what it is? I think because a lot of rich people are unhappy.
Dre Nicole
Do we know that for a.
Lex P
Well, no. But will they say that? Will they say that?
Dre Nicole
I think people say that to make themselves feel better about poverty.
Lex P
Well, no, no, no. I think what it is is that people think that money solves your problems and it doesn't.
Dre Nicole
I think so.
Lex P
I think that's the point that they're trying to make. Just you're not all of a sudden, if you're depressed, you're not all of a sudden gonna become a millionaire and all your problems are solved. You see what saying that's fair.
Dre Nicole
But I feel like it's always people that's not millionaires that say that.
Lex P
No, it be millionaires that be saying it too. I mean, we've seen people who are millionaires commit suicide. Half the time people that are committing suicide are these CEOs of these companies and things like that.
Dre Nicole
And it's also broke people.
Lex P
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Dre Nicole
But what I'm saying, I feel like people commit suicide. No matter where you are in life, no matter how much money you make, no matter what your net worth is, I feel like you as a person have to be at peace. That's why I said I feel like you can have both. It doesn't necessarily matter if you're rich, it doesn't matter if you're poor. It's about a mindset. Some people are committed to being miserable. Some people have mental health issues. It's a lot of different things that people are struggling with that has nothing to do with how much money they have coming in. I think it's about a mindset and choosing because I also feel like even if you have mental health issues, it's things that you can, you can go to therapy, you can try to actively work on those things. Some people choose to just give up, you know what I mean? Or if people are stressed and it's a lot going on in their life, how do you manage the stress? How do you deal with the stress? Or are you just going to mope around about the fact that you stressed out? Are you going to try to find a solution or you just going to sit in it?
Lex P
Right?
Dre Nicole
You know, like I think those things matter and I feel like A lot of the time when the majority of the population is saying that stuff, because majority of the population is not rich. I think that, you know, people just trying to say that.
Lex P
Well, the reason I said that narrative, because I watched this divorce lawyer. I wish I knew his name. He's a divorce lawyer, and he always makes really good points. I'mma. By the time this comes out, I'mma have Javi put the link with one of his tiktoks. But the reason he talks about that so much is just because a lot of people do think, oh, if I was rich, it would solve all my problems. So that was the only thing I was saying. Now, I do agree with you. A lot of people like to make that excuse, like, oh, rich people.
Dre Nicole
Not really happy rich people.
Lex P
But it is a lot of people that feel like, oh, once I got here and when it comes to anything, money, marriage, kids, getting a certain car, getting a certain job, you think once I reach this goal, it'll solve all my problems. And it doesn't. And I agree with you. You have to do that inner work.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, you have to do the work. I don't know why people think they can escape the word.
Lex P
Right?
Dre Nicole
Becoming a happy person is not something. Well, I mean, I do feel like some people are just naturally happy people.
Lex P
Yeah. Well, to be honest, I almost sang that song, Happy people. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Okay. See, she be bringing. She do it every week. She low key. Got a crush on him. She like him. J, you brought. This is like the third week in a row that you brought that man up. Nobody. Lex P R Kelly.
Lex P
Ooh, Lex P R Kelly.
Dre Nicole
No, they both got an initial in their name. I don't know. We on to something. He probably need a pen pal and.
Lex P
It ain't gonna be me, bitch. Fuck that, man.
Dre Nicole
Fuck. I done forgot what the fuck I was saying.
Lex P
Sorry, but he was saying happy people.
Dre Nicole
But I forgot what the fuck my point was.
Lex P
Some people are naturally happy people.
Dre Nicole
Oh. I was gonna say, I think some people are naturally happy people. And to be honest, I mean, we all started off happy.
Lex P
Did we? I came out the womb crying. I don't know about y'all. I came out that you was probably.
Dre Nicole
Crying cuz you was cold and you don't remember what you was. I was like, God damn it. We is not about to sit here and act like you remember what you was doing the day you was born.
Lex P
I told you. I know.
Dre Nicole
I was crying, girl. But no, I feel like we're. We were all born happy. Like, if you go back to being a Child, you were happy as a child. Life has hardened you. Like life has made you unhappy. Life has made you notice. Be content with yourself or content with the circumstances and content with what you have because you looking at other people or it might be trauma that you've been through, it might be a bad relationship. Now you closed off to love and you don't know if you want to give your heart to somebody again. You walking around angry all the time cuz this got you up. You know what I mean? Like, I think life makes people that way. I think we all start off happy. So at the end of the day, if you feel like you're not yourself no more, or if you want to get back to being a happy person, you have to do the word yeah. And it's not easy doing the work to become a better person and a better version of yourself. It is not easy. If it was easy, everybody would be.
Lex P
Doing it and we would have a world full of good people. And we don't.
Dre Nicole
And we don't. It's way more bad people than it is good people.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
But I said that to say I think that you can be happy and rich. You just have to do the work. And I don't know why people be trying to push, put the narrative up that like all rich people are miserable and evil. Cuz I just feel like you can't generalize any group of people.
Lex P
I agree.
Dre Nicole
You have good people and bad people in every group.
Lex P
Because I. But I think a lot of times when people try to categorize like rich people with being evil, it's because sometimes people abuse their power. And that goes with just that's in broke people, middle class, rich. Because you know what? Just like how we talked about when you had a manager at your old job that used to be so mean to you because she finally was in a position of power and she was abusing it. You can find that she wasn't rich.
Dre Nicole
She just had a woman.
Lex P
Exactly. That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying. So it's gonna be. That's what I'm saying. I agree with you. It comes in every single, you know, community as far as that. But. But it's like people abuse their power at every level. But I will say, like I said, I don't want people to feel like always chasing something and that's going to fix your issues. Like Dre said, you got to do that, that inner work. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
People don't be wanting to do the work.
Lex P
They don't want to do the work.
Dre Nicole
They don't want to go to therapy and stuff. Cuz they don't be wanting to have to hold that mirror up. That's what it be.
Lex P
Oh, they hate.
Dre Nicole
Cuz I think a lot of the time people know what's wrong. Like, and of course we're talking about mental health and mental issues aside, like, but people be knowing what's wrong with. Yeah, a lot of the time they know what they need to work on.
Lex P
And then they hate people that hold that mirror up to them and tell them about themselves.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, they don't. They don't want to hear it because they don't want to do the work. It's much easier to stay the same and make excuses for why you are where you are than to do the work and realize that you your biggest obstacle.
Lex P
So. Yeah, ain't that a word? So let us know. Would y'all rather be rich and stressed or broke?
Dre Nicole
Stress me the out now.
Lex P
Don't stress me the out now.
Dre Nicole
Cause I'm gonna find a way.
Lex P
Amen, sister.

Dre Nicole
About.
Lex P
I love a good bow. Bow. Go ahead, Dre.
Dre Nicole
Is there a difference between being sexy and then sexual?
Lex P
Big, big, big fucking difference.
Dre Nicole
What's the difference?
Lex P
Oh my gosh. So there's a difference between being sexy and sexual? Yes, there is. Sometimes you can see a woman or a man walking somewhere fully clothed and they just ooze sex appeal. Sometimes people just, they're just sexy people like, they can't help it. It's the, their, the shape of their eyes, their mouth, the way they talk. Some people are just naturally sexy. I think a good example of that is Rihanna. It doesn't matter what Rihanna has on. She could have on a moomoo and she could just be have a video of her just laughing and she just looks sexy. I think she's just a naturally sexy person. Being sexual is you deviants that be on Twitter all day tweeting about sex. Seven in the morning. Oh, I would love if I had a big fat cock in my mouth. Babe, did you brush your teeth yet?
Dre Nicole
A horny frog.
Lex P
And don't get me wrong, I don't slut shame. I don't. But even men do that. I mean, I will post something that hasn't. I'll be like, oh my gosh, I hope I have a good day today. Well, if I was there dicking it down, you'd be having a great day. Ew. That's just being sexual. It's not sexy. It's overbearing and it's just a lot. There is a huge.
Dre Nicole
No, that's being an offender.
Lex P
Yeah, but I.
Dre Nicole
You being a sexual offender?
Lex P
Yes.
Dre Nicole
You doing. Yes. You harassing me saying some like that. That's past sexual.
Lex P
Yes. I think people definitely mix the two. I think sometimes you'll see a man or a woman take a picture trying to be sexy and it comes off cringe. Yes. I don't want to say. I don't want to say names, but there was this, this photo shoot I saw and it was a celebrity and she was like in a tub of like milk and Oreos and it was just.
Dre Nicole
Now why would you say that? Cuz everybody know exactly who the hell you talking about.
Lex P
My bad.
Dre Nicole
But what. I don't want to say who it is. It's a lot of people that do.
Lex P
Milk and Oreo photo shoot.
Dre Nicole
Name somebody else.
Lex P
Oh, you said somebody else. Yeah, a lot. I can google it real quick. But I say all that to say.
Dre Nicole
Beautiful woman on stage did it afterwards.
Lex P
Exactly. See, See, after. And it wasn't sexy. It was a parody and it wasn't sexy. Kev. You see, I say all that to say, I think when you try to be sexy, then it just kind of messes it up. I think when you're just naturally like. Teyana Taylor is another person. She's just naturally sexy. It's something about her eyes and it doesn't matter what she have on. She got on some cargo or she got on a sexy dress. It just. Some people just have that and that's okay. Not everybody is meant to be sexy. That's not like the end all be all. If you're not sexy, it's okay. But when you try to be sexy, there's a huge difference between being sexual and being sexy.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. I feel like sex appeal is natural. It's just one of those things. Either you have it or you don't. And like you said, if you don't have it, it's okay. But I just think we live in a. A time where everybody wants to be sexy. Everybody feel like they have to be the baddest. They have to be the most sexiest or the finest. So that's why I feel like you have a lot of people who be trying to sell that image or give off that image when it's just not natural. And you can always see through it.
Lex P
And I, I think. Remember how we talked about how everybody think they funny, Everybody think they sex. Everybody think that's agreement. Nobody wants to stay in their lane anymore. Like nobody sexy. So he nervous and that do not be nerve. Hands be stiff as when you around. Nobody's shaking.
Dre Nicole
That was a bar. But, but I, you know, that's a.
Lex P
Perfect example Sexy Red. I think the way that sexy carries herself and just be like, yeah, I'm sexy. That's sexy to me. Yeah, I think that's sexy. When a person is confident in who they are. I don't give a fuck what y'all say, woman that a gay name herself Ming Li and you ain't from China. I don't know if I can trust you people because y'all put pregnancy on me. All I and all it was was I ate a can of beans and had a few shots of tequila. I just got back from a little happy hour at Papacitos and y'all was like, you pregnant?
Dre Nicole
Lick pregnant.
Lex P
Congratulations.
Dre Nicole
She pregnant.
Lex P
Oh, she pregnant. And baby, I had just ate. So the only reason I'm being very. Oh, he don't play about me. This is swinging on the swing set right now. Swinging on the merry go round, baby. Oh, he playing all day on that PS5 Mario Kart. Okay, that's crazy. That's like you having a, a sexual assault case and R. Kelly being like, oh, yeah, bro, I support you. Hey, I'm good, I'm good, bro. I don't need none of that support. I don't want none of your prayers. Somebody sent me some my phone and it said that I hog tied her. I don't know how to hog that people. What would I hog?
Dre Nicole
Willing, one day I will get married and my dad is not going to be here to walk me down the aisle. Things that I just always thought that he would be here for and you know, be able to experience with me. And I just know he would be so proud of everything that I'm doing. The woman that I'm becoming, how far I've come. Especially with my attitude, child, because woo, I was something else when I was growing up. But like I said, it's just a bittersweet thing.
Lex P
She's not trying to be anything. So y'all can't relate do be cuz she's sexy. They do be nervous. I, I, we done seen it, we done saint it. So I just feel like when you're just naturally who you are, that comes off as sexy. Not you trying to be sexy. You Know what I'm saying? Some. Some people can look at.
Dre Nicole
That's debatable. I mean some people just being naturally who they are, it don't come off.
Lex P
And it don't come off as sexy, but it's okay.
Dre Nicole
The point that I make, yeah, it's gonna be sexy to somebody, but I think that's the point that I'm making. It don't have to be sexy. Like you don't have to be sexy. Who the fuck said you gotta be sexy?
Lex P
Big sexy gown before, big sexy.
Dre Nicole
Before there was a big sexy. Who told y'all, y'all had to be sexy?
Lex P
Right? Right.
Dre Nicole
You know what I mean?
Lex P
Like everybody wants to be everything. I think social media has made people feel like they want to be everything.
Dre Nicole
And people not okay with admitting what they not, which is okay. Everybody can't be everything.
Lex P
You can't be everything. You can't be everything. And that's okay. That's the. I think we have lost the art and the love for being unique.
Dre Nicole
Yup.
Lex P
That's the issue. You see this girl?
Dre Nicole
I don't want to be like everybody else.
Lex P
Yes, this girl, she is hilarious. Now you want to be hilarious. And then you see this girl, she is very poised and educated and this and that. And then you trying to act like her. Then you see this sexy girl, you trying to act like, like her. Who are you? Why don't nobody want to be unique?
Dre Nicole
Cuz we in a Black Mirror episode.
Lex P
Come on now.
Dre Nicole
Like nobody wants to be themselves anymore. Everybody look. Looks up to everybody else and wants to imitate, emulate them. People don't. And a lot of people don't have confidence, I feel like, because they're constantly comparing themselves online all the time. Every time you get online, mind if you looking at a whole bunch of girls who have a certain body type and you don't have that body type. Are you looking at girls who can go get their hair done every week and you can't go get your hair done every week? Girls who drive certain cars, who live certain lifestyles and you feel like you're not living that, then you're not. You're no longer confident in yourself. And now you feel like you have to be like them. Like I must be missing something. Yeah, I have to be like them in order to get those things, obviously. So let me try to act more like this first thing. Cuz then maybe I'll yield the same results, you know. But it's no longer okay and cool to be yourself. I feel like back in the day it was okay to be yourself, cuz you didn't know what the next was doing. It was no way for you to know. You couldn't even copy cuz you ain't know what they was doing.
Lex P
Right. Exactly, exactly.
Dre Nicole
It wasn't no Internet, it wasn't no social media. You can't keep up with nobody.
Lex P
Content creating wasn't a job. So now they see these content creators, how they live to add to your point. So they're like, oh, if I want to be a content creator and make all this money, I need to do.
Dre Nicole
What she's doing, right?
Lex P
When a lot of these, A lot of content creators that y'all see that have been OGs in the game that have been making money for years, they were original, they were themselves. I always use Jackie as an example. Cause y'all know I love me some Jackie down. Jackie has been herself since day one. Jackie is probably like one of the influencers. I've seen that she has never changed. So when people started all of a sudden coming out saying things about her like, oh my God, Jackie has literally been this way since day one. Very much like, I'm that girl, I like this, I'm bougie, I'm very much giving this. But I still like to, you know, fuck around with the fuck around, you know what I'm saying? She's been that way since day one. So y'all just got here. But that's the blessing you get when you are authentically yourself. You get to go on and have an amazing career. You get to be somebody who transferred from YouTube to TikTok and whatever, you know, all the endeavors that she has. So I think we do need to get back to that. I know we got off topic from the sexy version versus sexual, but I think that's a good point that you made. Like there's. That there's so much value in being unique.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, people don't want to be unique no more. They feel like they gotta agree. People be afraid to disagree with people. They be afraid to really speak their mind because they're afraid of how people gonna respond to them or react to them or about not being like. Who give a about not being like, do you like yourself?
Lex P
Come on now.
Dre Nicole
I always say that for real because I feel like so many people care so much about what other people think and being liked by other people. Do you like you? Because if you like you, then you wouldn't be worried what other. What everybody else is thinking. It matters way more what you think about yourself. And I feel like, yeah, we just live in the time where everybody want to be like everybody else. That's why everybody want to be sexy.
Lex P
Yeah. And that's why I said another point to like, sexy doesn't say much. Like when you're, you're sexy, sexy just gives like I'm just, It's a moment.
Dre Nicole
I always say that. In general though, I feel like that about sex appeal, but I also feel like that about confidence. I feel like people that are confident not saying that they confident all the time, they not always overly boastful or like, I'm that bitch, I'm this, I'm that, they just that bitch. They just exist and people can see it. You know what I mean? They don't have to say it all the time. I always feel like when people are like trying really hard to convince you, they also trying to convince they selves.
Lex P
Right? Cause I think there's a thin line. You know what I'm saying? It be a thin line. Like, you know, you can pop your shit every now and then, like, baby, I look good today or ooh, it's giving what it's supposed to give. But if it's like all day, that's all you talking about online. Like all day, I am so this, I am so that. It's just a thin line between like feeling yourself and it's like who you trying to convince.
Dre Nicole
It ain't even even got to be all day. Cuz if you doing it all day, you just annoying as. And your account need to get disabled.
Lex P
Damn Elon need to take them out.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, your account need to get disabled cuz who the want to see that all day? But even if you do it every day, like I feel like every once in a while, like every blue moon cool. But I just feel like if you have to say things all the time or try to prove to people you not really that and you don't really think that you that either. That's why you trying so hard to to come off sexy or you're trying so hard to come off confident or to say you sexy and say you confident all the time because you not really. Because if you was, we could see it like your original point about Rihanna. Rihanna don't go around saying I'm sexy, I'm beautiful, I'm fine, I'm rich, I'm this, I'm that. Because she don't have to say that because you see what the going on. You see the material. Yeah, I just feel like, yes, like be, be calm, be cool. Because people always gonna see what the Going on. You ain't even gotta say it.
Lex P
The people gonna be saying that.
Dre Nicole
Don't. Yeah, I like to let people say for me, I just be like. Cause period. Now when people say it, I do be like, period.
Lex P
Right?
Dre Nicole
But I'm not about to just be like. Cause yeah, I'm that. I'm this.
Lex P
I'm so this.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, like, it's just not that easy.
Lex P
I think it's like you said. I think it's like, let the people say it for you. You got to let. Just let them talk for you. You know what I'm saying? Period. So let us know what y'all think the difference between being sexy and sexual is. Cuz it's a huge difference. Just cuz you slap some lingerie on and post a picture don't mean it's sexy. Or men. Just cuz you slap some boxers on and post a picture and some body oil, it don't mean it's sexy. Like, I hate those videos when they be cooking and they be like rubbing on the chicken and stuff and spanking it. Have you ever seen those videos?
Dre Nicole
Or eating the hot dogs or doing these.
Lex P
Please, please. I hate it. I hate it so bad.
Dre Nicole
I don't like it either. It's just too suggestive.
Lex P
Very annoying.
Dre Nicole
It's. It's very suggestive. Cuz like we see what the you.
Lex P
Trying to do and it's not. It's not clicking.
Dre Nicole
It's not. It's not. Okay. So of course my item of the week ismuse beauty collection.com. get your matte liquid lipstick, wigs, lip liners, lip glosses. We have a lip plumper now and jelly blushes. And we also just dropped our new mascara and eyeliner. So make sure y'all go to muse beautycollection.com and cop it, period. Period.
Lex P
And y'all make sure y'all go to richlookhair.com. get all your bundles customized units and all that good stuff. She did an amazing job on my little ginger look here. So shout out to dee dee@richlookhair.com all right, so now it's time to get into the bow. Hey, Bow about. Bow. Bow, Bow.
Dre Nicole
I don't know why I be wanting to do this dance because it just.
Lex P
Gives what it says.
Dre Nicole
This remind me of that girl from the Apple store. Y'all remember that girl?
Lex P
Oh my gosh, yes. You know, she's like a menace on Tick Tock. Now what? She just be on there cutting up. What does she be doing? She just be on there cussing people out and Just be being mean. I mean, kind of no reason, but it just be a lot going on. You gotta get in them TikTok streets, girl.
Dre Nicole
But I mean, so, like, she's popular on there.
Lex P
I mean.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, she is.
Lex P
Okay. She just be, you know, doing a lot.
Dre Nicole
That's so funny. What a time to be alive, I'm telling you. Cause we used to be up in that Apple store taking pictures on the.
Lex P
Laptop, just cutting up for no reason.
Dre Nicole
Sitting there, not buying a goddamn thing. Just in there after school. So what you been listening to?
Lex P
So I love this artist. I just love her voice. And I'm just glad that she's been consistently dropping great music. There's an artist, her name is Akilah, she had that song Bloom. I don't know if y'all remember that. That song. What is it you see? What is it you see? So she has a new song called Wolf that dropped, I think, like last month or something. But she's just kind of like. Like telling a man like, you finna stop playing in my face. So it's a good anthem if you got somebody playing in your face and you need something to hype you up, you know, and make you stand on business. Cause you know how men do. They be in your face, treating you like trash, and then they want a cry wolf to try to get you back. You know what I'm saying? They love to act like, oh, I'm a change. Baby, please, baby, please. I'm a young black man. You know, they love to do that.
Dre Nicole
Okay, so.
Lex P
So this is a song about men crying wolf. Men love to cry wolf. Cause they cry. They get you back and start doing the same thing over again. Oh, you felt that, huh? Awol. See, the men don't like that. Behind the camera, y'all can't see them, but they don't.
Dre Nicole
Oh, thank you, Ty.
Lex P
So, yes, shout out to Akilah. She has a song called Wolf. That's my bop of the week. What you got?
Dre Nicole
So my bop is Can't Hide it by Lil Durk and Janae Aiko. Okay, I love a good. I love me a good rap R and B collection loud. I really do. And plus, you know, I love Jana.
Lex P
I thought you about to say I love Lil Durk. I was about to say, Okay, I.
Dre Nicole
Well, I do like Lil Durk. Lil Durk got some heads. Free that man. Free him. Okay, people, I don't know if I should.
Lex P
I don't know what he did.
Dre Nicole
I would rather be on the side of freeing him than. Than not.
Lex P
Okay, I Agree with you.
Dre Nicole
I am what you so free that man.
Lex P
Okay, Now, I ain't mad at that. I ain't mad at that. Shout out to. I know he dropped the album. I haven't listened to it yet.
Dre Nicole
I haven't listened to the whole album.
Lex P
I escaped my little Chicago moment I had, but I'mma listen to it. I'm a go back. You know, Lex used to love drill music. I did. I had a whole era. I don't know why I'm like that. I have, like, little eras of, like, music that I just. I listen to all types of music. Like, I told y'all, I have a playlist that'll literally go from Master P to Dolly Parton. Okay. Make them say literally to Jolene. Okay. But I have, like, little pockets to where I, like, really enjoy, like, a genre of music. I'm, like, in this really, like, pop era kind of right now. Like, the pop girlies are doing it. Kesha is back.
Dre Nicole
T for real.
Lex P
Payne. She got a song with T. Pain.
Dre Nicole
Oh, you have to send me the song. Cause I like Kesha.
Lex P
Oh, my gosh. T. Pain is still that guy.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
And I just need y'all to really, like, stop playing on my man, Ta. But, yeah, he brought Kesha back. Like, are you kidding me? So, like, I'm in this little, like, pop. I'm enjoying the pop songs right now. I think the pop girls are doing their thing. But, yeah, I had my little era where I was in Chicago. Drill music real bad.
Dre Nicole
You know who need to make a comeback?
Lex P
Who? Fetty Wap.
Dre Nicole
Stop making makeup and make a comeback.
Lex P
Rihanna.
Dre Nicole
No, Lady Gaga.
Lex P
Lady Gaga dropped the album.
Dre Nicole
She did.
Lex P
She's about to go on tour, bro.
Dre Nicole
I had no idea.
Lex P
Oh, come on.
Dre Nicole
Well, you have never talked about it.
Lex P
The other week you did.
Dre Nicole
Yes. Yes, bro.
Lex P
It was like, who did I talk about on the episode with? I did Lady Gaga.
Dre Nicole
I don't remember.
Lex P
Then she. The song debuted on Super Bowl.
Dre Nicole
I had no idea.
Lex P
Abracadabra. Abracadabra. Hallehula. A hit.
Dre Nicole
I'mma just go listen to that.
Lex P
Okay. I sound just like it.
Dre Nicole
You know, I gave you a good example. I don't think that it probably sounds quite like that, but. Oh, my God, I had no idea. And I love, love Lady Gaga. I did not know she had a new album. Did you listen to the whole album?
Lex P
I haven't listened to the album. Has it dropped yet? Let me see. Mayhem. Oh, yeah, it dropped. The album dropped.
Dre Nicole
When did it come out?
Lex P
I haven't. March 7th. So it just dropped two weeks ago. But, yeah, she dropped that single on super bowl.
Dre Nicole
I love me some Lady Gaga. What a time.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
When we were in high school.
Lex P
The things that that lady gave to us are.
Dre Nicole
Bad Romance was my song. Remember?
Lex P
We sang it for karaoke.
Dre Nicole
We did. We did sing bad romance.
Lex P
You know who else needs to make a comeback that I would be here for? I wouldn't mind if Britney got her shit together. I think she got one more in her.
Dre Nicole
I just.
Lex P
She got one more in her, bro.
Dre Nicole
I don't think so.
Lex P
You don't think so?
Dre Nicole
I don't.
Lex P
I think she can do it.
Dre Nicole
I don't think so.
Lex P
She need to get a little Timberland track. He can bring her back now.
Dre Nicole
What if she rip her skirt off on the stage?
Lex P
Fine with me.
Dre Nicole
Start dancing in panties.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Oh, yeah. Okay. Okay, guys, I just don't know. Like, maybe she could go. Maybe she could go on, like, a little compilation tour, you know, Kind of like how escape did. Wasn't it like escape? So, yeah, I feel like maybe she could do something like that. Like her. Christina.
Lex P
Ooh, Christina.
Dre Nicole
Cause they not beefy no more.
Lex P
No, they not. But Christina can really sing. Oh, Jessica Simpson just dropped a new single.
Dre Nicole
Jessica Simpson. And I used to like Jessica Simpson back in the day.
Lex P
Yes. And they said the single is actually good.
Dre Nicole
Okay, we're gonna have to go listen to that.
Lex P
Yeah, we gonna have to listen to it. Shout out to Jessica Simpson.
Dre Nicole
Shout out to our girl. Ain't she from Texas?
Lex P
Yeah. Dallas. Dallas Ashley Simpson had one of the best rock albums on a Monday I am wearing.
Dre Nicole
And she's a Ross now child.
Lex P
I'm not gonna even talk about that.
Dre Nicole
She was deep in her bag. She got cause her first. Who was her first baby daddy? It was the man from Pete Witts.
Lex P
Was it Pete Witts?
Dre Nicole
Yeah, it was.
Lex P
I think so. Right? Let me look.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I think so. And then she had a baby.
Lex P
Child.
Dre Nicole
That is crazy. Ross.
Lex P
Was it? Am I. Is that his name? I think it was Pete Wentz. Ashley Simpson. Yep. Damn. I'm really too deep in the pop culture streets.
Dre Nicole
I knew it was one of them from a boy band back in the day. From a rock band. I couldn't remember.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Who exactly it was, but yeah. Shout out to the Simpsons, man.
Lex P
Shout out to the Simpsons. The time. All right, moving on. We're getting to our favorite segment of the week. Pour your heart out. If you have a question, advice, anything that you need answered on the show, make sure you email us@askpoormindsmail.com if you are a Patreon girl. Sorry, y'all, I'm struggling. I got it. If you're a Patreon girly or guy, make sure you put that in the subject line. You get to skip the line, period. Okay, y'all make sure y'all keep the questions and whatever you're typing. Real short, cute and sweet. Okay? Love y'all.
Dre Nicole
You got some emojis on yours.
Lex P
I know.
Dre Nicole
Hey, Dre and Lex. I love the podcast and the advice y'all give. It's super entertaining and I learn something every episode. I'm 16 and started dating my first boyfriend last June. Things were great until he ended it due to problems at home. I took it hard but accepted it. Before I could fully move on, he came back asking to start over and I said yes. At first things were good, but when I wanted something more serious, he kept saying he wasn't ready. We started arguing and I finally told him it's best we don't speak until he knows what he want. What do y'all think?
Lex P
I think that you're 16 and you need to go watch Peppa Pig. Why are you watching poor mine?
Dre Nicole
That's what I said. Now how you found out about the show? Baby, how did you find out about these?
Lex P
Girl, you are 16. You need to focus on school. She said, and what college you getting into. These boy, he's not ready. He's 16. You not ready.
Dre Nicole
She said, don't speak to me until you know what you want.
Lex P
She is 16 at war.
Dre Nicole
She is at war with that man, girl. Cause I now what is not the man.
Lex P
He a boy.
Dre Nicole
They both kids now. I want to know how old he is. She ain't say he was no kid.
Lex P
I don't like this. You need to stop watching poor mom.
Dre Nicole
He having problems at home. He could be with his wife.
Lex P
I hope not, cuz we got a case on our hands. I hope the hell not.
Dre Nicole
I'm just saying I don't be putting nothing past these men. Know how they be. Yeah, 16 year old girls be thinking that they be doing something. They be like, oh, my boyfriend 20 my boy for in 21. Yeah, girl, I had a few friends like that.
Lex P
You are off. Totally even trying to let a boy stress you out at 16. I honestly hope you aren't even watching this to get the answer, cuz you don't even need to be watching. Poor minds. This is for grown folks.
Dre Nicole
Oh, she going to tune in and she going to be showing her friends in class.
Lex P
Look, y'all, they answer my question. Girl, go study I agree. You are 16. You supposed to be worried about your college applications very soon.
Dre Nicole
I agree. Whenever y'all be writing in and y'all be worried about men and y'all be under like 25. I just. My answer is gonna always be let it go. Let it go.
Lex P
Like another love tko.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, just let it go. You can always find someone else like at 16. A boy or a man, whatever. He.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
Should not be consuming your thoughts.
Lex P
Agreed. Agreed. All right. Hello ladies. I'm a 22 year old young and turned boy from Dallas. Shout out, shout out to the gritty grove. My best friend and I admire Yalls friendship and the growth we seen on screen. Lately we've been dealing with some codependency issues and want to work on it. Do y'all have any advice on maintaining a healthy friendship balance? Have you and Dre ever gone through something similar? How did y'all grow through it? A self proclaimed number one stand. P.S. lex P, Andrea, Nicole. Y'all are the baddest Leo and Taurus out right now. From a Sagittarius fire sign gang.
Dre Nicole
Do I love me a Sagittarius?
Lex P
Those are the emojis he put.
Dre Nicole
Let me see. I seen them emojis at the end. Okay, so what advice do you have for codependency? I don't know. I don't feel like we were ever just codependent.
Lex P
Me neither. I don't think we have that personality trait. We're not codependent on anybody.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, but I don't.
Lex P
Yeah, I'll say this. Go ahead, Go ahead. I'm sorry.
Dre Nicole
Well, I was just gonna say I don't even necessarily know if I feel like that's like a bad thing with your friend. You think so?
Lex P
Cuz I was going to say, I.
Dre Nicole
Mean, I think it's good to have a friend that you have a really strong bond with that you probably might feel like you could talk to them about whatever or you feel like they're always there for you. You know, they always a phone call away or you can go hang with them whenever you're going through things. Like, I think it's good to have those type of relationships. Like I'm wondering if it really is codependency or.
Lex P
That's what I'm saying. Obviously it's a point to where it's becoming unhealthy because what you're talking about is just being a friend and being there. I think a little codependency comes when it's becoming overbearing for one person and they can't be there for you if they're not all the way there or what they have going on. That's why I said, for me and my friends, I do have some friends that are. They are codependent a lot with their community, so I have let them know, hey, I don't mind being there for you, but like I said, sometimes when you call me, you got a lot going on. Just check in with me. Hey, Lex, do you have the capacity to talk about this today? I think it's okay to draw boundaries with your friends, because people think that drawing boundaries means I'm being mean, and I don't want you next to me. That's not what I'm saying. I'm just saying, like, let's make sure that we are both in the mind frame to talk or have these conversations. So I think what y'all need to do is draw healthy boundaries. So maybe that's something that y'all need to practice. Hey, friend, can you talk today? Are you in the mental capacity to talk today? Because I got this. I got something going on I want to talk to you about, but if you're not in the headspace, it's okay.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
So just create healthy boundaries. I think a lot of times people look at boundaries like, oh, they're being mean. They don't want to talk, but we all got shit going on, so let's just be more respectful. Let's have more respect for other people's mental space. So I don't know if that's exactly the issue, but that's something that I've done in my personal, other friendships. Like I said, I don't think me and you have ever had that problem. No, I think anything is worth talking about. I. We can say that any issue that we've ever had in the past, we always just be like, okay, friend, what's up? We f to talk it out. No matter how avoidant somebody is, you got to put it on the float.
Dre Nicole
I agree. I think y'all just need to have a healthy conversation, because whoever is feeling that way, or if y'all are both feeling that way, there's a way to, like, le said, set healthy boundaries. So y'all just need to have a. A good conversation and. And figure out what works best for yalls relationship because you don't want to, you know, start feeling like, yeah, it.
