Dre Nicole
We talking about, like,
Lex P
I just can't get through this episode and I'm getting. You need to be stopped. What did I do? Ceasar was fine.
Dre Nicole
He was like a boss.
Lex P
You are addicted to a boss. One thing about it, you would have been dating Ceasar.
Dre Nicole
I was. I. So I became one. I became what I like.
Lex P
Oh, my God.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, okay, Lex, I'm not about to play with you. I'm not about to play with you because I feel like you're about to lie and it's okay. So I'm just accepted. But you ain't never seen, like, a cartoon or like a animated movie and been like, okay, this character kind of fine. Like, if they was a person.
Lex P
I've never been like, oh, damn, that dog. Fine as.
Dre Nicole
No, not fine as, but just like.
Kal Penn
Okay.
Dre Nicole
I like his aura.
Lex P
I think Rafiki had aura. What's up, y'?
Listener/Caller
All?
Lex P
It's your girl, Lex P. And it's
Dre Nicole
your girl, Dre Nicole.
Lex P
And you are tuned in to another
Dre Nicole
episode of Poor Mind where drunk mind speaks sober thoughts.
Lex P
We ain't got no guests today. We ain't got no guests today.
Dre Nicole
And we in la.
Lex P
And we in LA with it. What's up, girl? You know what? I don't have no voice. Like, my voice is very raspy and deep right now. Like, I already have a deep voice.
Dre Nicole
It always gives berry white.
Lex P
I know, but it's giving extra berry today. It's giving that deep tenor, you know?
Dre Nicole
We both say that, though. I think we both have, like, race voice. Yeah, I think that's a Southern raspy voices.
Lex P
Yeah, I think that's a Southern. Well, you know.
Dre Nicole
No, we sound like we need a cough drop.
Lex P
Yeah. But New York women, they voices be deep. Yo, did us. And you turn around, it's a woman. And she'd be bad, too.
Dre Nicole
That low key be a little performative, though.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
They voices?
Lex P
I don't think so.
Dre Nicole
I think so. I don't think they be talking like that behind closed doors. I feel like when they be with a man behind closed doors. How you like your grits, Daddy? No, I don't think it'd be like. I don't. I don't think they'd be like, son, yeah. How you want your grits?
Knix Advertiser
Dead ass.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. Let me know what's up.
Lex P
They definitely do that.
Dre Nicole
I don't think so.
Lex P
I think that's just who they are, though. I don't think they're faking it outside.
Dre Nicole
It's. It's a little profound.
Lex P
I feel like the East Coast. Because she's not from New York, but like, how Mona talks. Mona got a deep voice, too.
Dre Nicole
She's from. Yeah, I mean, like, not New York,
Lex P
but the East Coast. Yeah, she's got a deep voice, but I think that's how she really talk.
Dre Nicole
Philly girls be a little like that, too.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
The voice and stuff.
Lex P
Because I feel like when I talk to my man, my voice definitely still be deep. I mean, I. Yes, it do.
Dre Nicole
I be hearing you on the phone. You're a liar.
Lex P
You be like, jerreya. What I be saying, don't do that.
Dre Nicole
You be like, babe, like, what's going on? Are you okay?
Lex P
I was just checking on you.
Dre Nicole
I was just. I was just calling to check on you. Why are you acting like that? I'm just gonna talk to you later because I have to get ready to record it. Be very soft and feminine.
Lex P
Shay got disgusted cause you called him Daddy.
Dre Nicole
I heard
Lex P
that's his name you be calling him.
Dre Nicole
So you like me? I'm more of a bedroom daddy girl. Like, I call my man Daddy in the bedroom.
Target Advertiser
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Outside of that. I don't just be like, yeah, Daddy.
Lex P
But it's not like a daddy. It's just kind of like how we say babe. I just be like, oh, yeah. I be like, oh, Daddy, come get your stuff. It's down here. Like, I use Daddy like I use Babe.
Dre Nicole
Really?
Target Advertiser
I don't call.
Lex P
I barely call him Babe.
Dre Nicole
Do he call you Mommy?
Lex P
No, he call sometimes. He'll say Mama. Like, he'll call me Mama sometimes. Yeah, but he's. We're kind of interchangeable. He says babe and baby, but he calls me Mama for sure.
Dre Nicole
I like Mama, though. You give mama?
Lex P
Yeah, I'm Big Mama.
Dre Nicole
Big Mama.
Lex P
And you know what's crazy? I've been calling myself Big Mama for a long. Like, back when I was calling myself Big Mama, it, like, wasn't cute because. But I enjoyed it. I was like, I'm a big bitch. Everything about me, everything big.
Dre Nicole
But I think you should stop saying that. Cause you not, though. That's why when people be seeing you in person, they clock your T every time. They be like, okay, I knew Draya was little.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
But you be making it seem like you big. And they be very underwhelmed.
Lex P
Let me say this in my defense. When I say big, though, like, I know I'm not that. Like, I'm tall, but I'm extremely tall.
Dre Nicole
You're not really tall.
Lex P
I'm over average. No, I'm over average height. Average height for a woman is like 5, 4, 5, 5.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
I'm over average height, but I mean, like, I have. I wear a size 10 shoe.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
I'm loud as fuck. I'm. I have a big personality.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
So I think big mama is more than the physical. It's who I am. It's in me. It ain't on me, bro. I can't help it.
Dre Nicole
I mean, that's fair. You have a larger than life personality.
Lex P
Yes. And I have a lot. A lot of ass. And I've gained a lot of weight.
Dre Nicole
That ass is roton.
Lex P
I don't know what's going on.
Dre Nicole
I don't know what's above roton, bro. But it's above whatever roton is. Your ass is so fat. Like, it's crazy. It's crazy. Cause people be thinking. People say I have a fat ass.
Lex P
Yeah, you do. You have a big butt.
Dre Nicole
I don't think so, though. I think my. I think my butt is proportionate. Yes. Which, don't get me wrong, yours is, too.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Your butt is proportionate to your body. But I think you got that type of ass where, like, I'm thick. I'm just overall thick. Like, even with my legs, because I work out and stuff, I feel like my legs and my butt. Yeah. It's like I'm a thick Southern girl. You. Your ass is fat, bro. It's so big.
Lex P
But it's. It happens when I gain weight. So I've gained weight, obviously, being on tour.
Dre Nicole
I've been eating.
Lex P
It's really the alcohol. Every single ounce of that Tito's has gone to my ass. Yeah. When I be seeing videos on stage, I'd be like, God damn, who is that?
Dre Nicole
I be saying that, too. When you be walking out, I be like, God damn, bro.
Lex P
It's a lot going on back there.
Dre Nicole
It's a lot moving. What's all that moving back there?
Lex P
It be clapping. I'm like, oh, my God. The audience is clapping really loud for us.
Dre Nicole
It's you the whole time.
Lex P
It be my booty. But like I said, after tour is over, I'm gonna focus on getting this weight off of me. Because I can always tell when I'm gaining weight. It shows in my face and my butt every time.
Dre Nicole
I've gained. I've gained a little weight while we've been on tour. It's hard, though, because, I mean. And I still been working out, but I'm not gonna lie, like, I haven't been working out as much as I would like to.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Like, even with us being out Here in la, I think I worked out three times. I went downstairs and worked out. But we've been here for a week, six days, and you can't.
Lex P
I mean, we all know you can't out train your diet. Like, that's just not happening unless you're running 10, 30 miles a day or something.
Dre Nicole
It's the liquor. Like, when I am not drinking, man. Earlier this year when I did 75 hard, I was so teased, I'm not going to lie.
Lex P
At the beginning of the year, when I was working out every day, I wasn't drinking. It was just like my face was just chiseled to the gods. My body just looks. That's why I was like, I'm getting back to it. And I got that way in, like two months of just consistency. So I was like, you know what? I'm gonna get back on it. It just be hard with Torn.
Dre Nicole
It's okay. I mean, I think that's the good thing about being introspective, you know? Like, you can look at yourself and be like, okay, I'm off track, but I need to get back on. And it's not like a hard fix. Your body is already t. Thank you, sister.
Lex P
Oh, did I tell you, since we're out in la, I met Professor Ogilvy. I was there, but you didn't. Oh, you were there. You were. That's. That Tito's.
Dre Nicole
I was there, but I like. I'm not gonna lie.
Lex P
You didn't want to meet him.
Dre Nicole
Well, it's. It's not that I didn't want to meet him.
Lex P
So why you didn't come with us?
Dre Nicole
I didn't feel like getting up.
Lex P
You didn't want to meet Dorian Wilson?
Dre Nicole
I feel like there'll be other opportunities.
Lex P
Okay. But.
Dre Nicole
And he is a legend.
Lex P
He is a legend.
Dre Nicole
Shout out to Professor O.
Lex P
And he looked good, too.
Dre Nicole
That's Kiki, Daddy.
Lex P
Kiki Palmer.
Dre Nicole
Kira. Kiki said so.
Lex P
That's her father.
Dre Nicole
You the one who said her daddy looked like Professor Ogilvy?
Lex P
He do. You the one that said Kiki and Professor look alike? They do.
Dre Nicole
Kiki and Professor Ogilvy?
Lex P
Yes. Cause they favor a little bit. It's the eyes.
Dre Nicole
No. You know who Kiki looks like? And I used to tell her this when we first became friends. Yes. A celebrity. They look like they could be sisters.
Lex P
Well, Kiki, big Lotto. Kiki is a lotto.
Dre Nicole
No, no, no. Her and Lotto don't look alike.
Lex P
Well, I just said that because they was both mixed, right?
Dre Nicole
Yeah, yeah. Cause her granddaddy Was a big lotto for real.
Lex P
Shout out to Kiki. Grandpa, rest in peace to that man.
Dre Nicole
What? She used to be calling him Herbert.
Lex P
Herbert.
Dre Nicole
Shout out to Herbert.
Lex P
Damn.
Dre Nicole
Herbert. But no, it's a celebrity.
Lex P
I don't.
Dre Nicole
I'm gonna give you a few hints. Popular celebrity singer.
Lex P
Lexi. Is she not. Okay, Too far. All right, keep going.
Dre Nicole
A singer.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
Popular celebrity singer. She was like that girl of her time, of her generation.
Lex P
Of her generation.
Dre Nicole
We've had somebody on the show who is in very close proximity to her.
Lex P
Ariana Grande.
Dre Nicole
I just said we've had somebody on the show who is in close proximity to her. Who have we had on the show that's in close proximity to Ariana Grande?
Lex P
T. Pain.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
I bet you he had. I bet you if y' all ever
Dre Nicole
needed proof that Lex just say anything, this is it.
Lex P
I don't know.
Dre Nicole
They literally kind of look alike.
Lex P
Brian. Carrie.
Dre Nicole
No, Nivea.
Lex P
She does not look like Nivea, bro.
Dre Nicole
Kiki and yes, Nivea, bro. You ain't never looked at Nivea and Kiki. They look like they have similar features.
Lex P
Okay, I'mma look up.
Dre Nicole
They look like they could be sisters, cousins, like.
Lex P
Okay, okay. Yeah, I'm going have to look.
Dre Nicole
Her and Nia look alike.
Lex P
Shout out to Kiki. We love us some Kiki.
Dre Nicole
We love us some Kiki. And we love us some Nia.
Listener/Caller
Girl.
Dre Nicole
Come sit on.
Lex P
Yes. Nia got some stories to tell. I know she got some good stories too. She do. But anyways, back to my story. I met Professor Ovy. And we were talking, we were taking pictures. He was so sweet. Right when I was about to say. I said, hey, I got one thing to tell you. He said. What's that? I was about to say.
Dre Nicole
He said.
Lex P
He said. He said, I don't want nobody to know I'm here.
Dre Nicole
Put this in the dirt.
Lex P
Yeah. He was like. He did not let me finish it. Cuz he didn't want, you know, a line of pe. Like, cuz that's. I guess that's what happens when people. And they start taking pictures. So he was like. He shut me down. I said, oh, that's okay. He was sweet, though. He was very sweet. I'm not saying that so people can.
T-Mobile Advertiser
No, no.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
It was just funny as hell. Cause I was like. And you know, I'm loud as hell. I was like. He saw me revving up. He was like, no, no, no, no, no, no. He had enough. He did not want to hear it.
Dre Nicole
I mean, I assume that probably gets annoying. Like, I Always feel like people who are, like, known for a specific role that they played or, like, a specific tagline. And then every time you see people, they walking up like, hey, Professor Ogilvy. And that was, like, 20 years ago.
Lex P
I like it. I love when people walk up. People walk up to me all day like, shut up, girl. All day long.
Dre Nicole
But it's only been two years, actually.
Lex P
I've been doing this for eight. I'm a veteran in the game, baby.
Dre Nicole
But you just started saying, shut up, girl, like, two years ago.
Lex P
But, I mean, even with, like, beans, people are constantly tagging me in beans all day, every day. Can I bring you some? Like, people talk to me about beans, but I really love beans, so it doesn't bother me, I think, but I don't think he didn't. Maybe it does get on his nerves. I don't think it was that it got on his nerves. I just think he didn't want to draw attention to himself. And I was finna draw it, baby. I was finna draw it.
Dre Nicole
I'll go back to you in 2050 and see how you feel about it.
Lex P
About. Shut up, girl.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. And Beans.
Lex P
Oh, Beans. This is for life, baby. You ain't got to worry. Check on me on that, baby. You ain't got to worry about that.
Dre Nicole
So have you been having fun in la?
Lex P
I have. I don't know when this episode is gonna drop, so I'm not gonna say what we did at the beginning of the week, but we did a really good podcast. I'm excited for that to drop. It was the longest podcast that I've ever done in my career of podcasting. The longest podcast episode I think I've ever done.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, it was pretty long.
Lex P
It was long, but it was really good.
Dre Nicole
It was really, really good. I had a good time shout out to you, that person. But you know how you be sitting, I think, because we do these.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
I've gotten really good at, like, gauging time without looking at the clock.
Lex P
Oh, not. You can eyeball words.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I know that.
Target Advertiser
Right?
Dre Nicole
Eyeball work. For real. So, like, I'm pretty good at kind of, like, knowing how long we've been talking. Like, even right now, I feel like probably like between 15 to 20 minutes.
Lex P
You're not bad. You.
Dre Nicole
I mean, okay. So, yeah, so, like, I'm pretty good at that. So it had got to a point where I was like, okay, this been like an hour and a half. This been two hours. Then I was like, it's been okay, it's been three. So then I checked my phone and I was like, nah, this is wild.
Lex P
It was a four, y'. All. It was a four hour long podcast, but it was good, I ain't gonna lie.
Dre Nicole
You think when it airs it's gonna be the full four?
Lex P
I think so. But what I think he's gonna do is they're gonna like bust it down into the segments and release those as well because some people are gonna watch it straight through. You gotta realize when somebody's getting their hair done, I'm going to talk about my hair in a second too. When somebody's getting their hair done, they play podcasts, lashes, all that stuff. So honestly, the longer the episode, the easy it is because they don't have to keep searching through and clicking it.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
So they definitely going to release that four hour episode because people play it in the barbershop like no shade. Poor Minds is a great show, but a lot of people use it for like background noise and conversation starters. Now, like you play Poor Minds at a kickback, y' all finna have a good little debate, you know what I'm saying? So somebody is definitely going to play that four hour episode from start to finish 1000%.
Dre Nicole
Might take them a few days. That's me. It'd be taking me a few days to finish stuff that'd be that long.
Lex P
Yeah, I like to put on podcasts or whatever while I'm like cleaning or doing stuff. So I know what. Oh, you talking about my true crime.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, bro.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
Lex is literally one of the most interesting people I've ever met. So you know, like we on tour normally. You pre gaming, you drinking, you listening to a little turn up music while you do your makeup, you know, getting in your zone legs be playing true crime podcast while she's getting ready to go on stage and it be the most like gory, graphic, depressing as she. Oh my God, this little girl was 10 years old and she got kidnapped by her godmother and they decapitated her. Yeah, that's exactly how list when they found her. Like that's the type let's listen to before we go on stage.
Lex P
And I'll be like this.
Dre Nicole
Oh, and she be it really be the reactions that be taking me out because I be chilling, y', all, having my little drink like I am right now, having my little libations. And Lex, I will hear her and she'll be like, lord Jesus, take the wheel. He was too young for that.
Lex P
It'd be so juicy.
Dre Nicole
What the is going on? You want to know something funny? You act like my mom.
Lex P
I love your.
Dre Nicole
The older that you get, you act like a 70 year old lady.
Lex P
I'll be shook, but it's like my
Dre Nicole
stories, because she do that. She watch TV and she yelling. She be reacting and stuff.
Lex P
Yeah, I'd be shook. I was like, oh my. Jesus Christ. It be crazy stuff going on. I like to stay in tune to what the people are doing and it kind of distracts me. Cause you know, I be so nervous before we go on stage. So it's.
Dre Nicole
That don't make you more nervous.
Lex P
You know, it's crazy because like, I think. Not that I'm desensitized, but I don't know, it just, it doesn't scare me. It doesn't creep me out. I'm just like, really? I be watching True Crime at home in the dark by myself. Yes. All the time. I don't know. It's so interesting to me. I don't know why. I don't know why. I've loved like Snap. I've been watching Snap since like middle school. I could really solve a crime if I had to.
Dre Nicole
And you ain't never worried about who creeping and crawling and balling.
Lex P
It's definitely because what if somebody.
Dre Nicole
Because what if somebody. Like I think about that type of. When I be watching stuff, I'm like, what if somebody is like here, what if somebody.
Lex P
I'm prepared for it though. Like, I feel. No, I know what signs to look for. Like there's a series that was called. I think it's called Frogging or something. And like people would be living in people's houses and they wouldn't know it. And so like, I know little signs to look for. If you go in your fridge and some of your turkey meat is eaten and you didn't eat it, you have a Frogger in your house. Yeah. They'll eat your food. Like you've never seen like drinks or anything disappear in your house. That's a good sign. If your food starts disappearing and you live alone, someone's living in there with you. But the average person wouldn't know that. They would just probably be like, oh, I think I ate my Oreos. No, you didn't. Someone's living in there.
Dre Nicole
But that's crazy as fuck. Cause what side of the Internet do you be on? I've never even heard of that.
Lex P
There's so many sides. But there's.
Dre Nicole
But you. Okay, hypothetically speaking, you found out it's a Frogger in your house.
Lex P
Yep.
Dre Nicole
What would you do?
Lex P
I could call the police, but at that point I could wait till they're sleeping and tie them up and question them. Cause technically I'm not in the wrong here. You're on my property.
Dre Nicole
What if they wake up while you tying them up and then you gotta fight?
Lex P
Well, you know what else I would do? I'll probably put like some laughing or something to knock em out and make it seep downstairs. Cause they would live in the basement.
Dre Nicole
Wouldn't it knock you out too though?
Lex P
Oh yeah, you right. I'm gonna be in there like this. Damn,
Dre Nicole
y' all both gonna be knocked the out.
Lex P
Like you gonna be in there sleeping together.
Dre Nicole
I think you need to rethink this. I think you need to we gonna reconsider.
Lex P
We gonna be in that sleep together. But no, I feel like if I it really came down to it, I could solve a crime. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, if I really needed to. I know exactly. I've watched every single season of verse 48.
Dre Nicole
Okay, Scooby Doo.
Lex P
I know what to do. Shaggy ain't got shit on me. Yeah, I'm telling you.

I'm the host of Irsay The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast, I am sitting down with Ray Porter, the narrator of Andy Weir's Audiobook Club project, Hail Mary Massive sci fi adventure about survival and science and what happens when you wake up alone, very far from Earth.
Lex P
I really had to make a decision because I caught myself getting that frog in my throat and starting to get teary as I'm narrating some of these sections and it's like, okay, yo yo yo, is this indulgent? And I really thought about it.
T-Mobile Advertiser
I was like, no.
Lex P
At this point it would kind of be betraying the trust the author and the listener have in telling this story if I don't go through it. But there's places in this book that that deeply, emotionally affected me and I left it on the mic. That's great because it served the story. People will say like, oh my God,

I cried at the end.

I believe you. I mean, you really. I'm not gonna lie, I'm not like a big TV person and like watching true crime and all of that stuff. But when Lex was listening to one of them stories, I was like, girl, send me that TikTok.
Lex P
She did. You was like, now what happened? You was like, no, wait, the TB
Dre Nicole
H. A few stories.
Lex P
That's what I'm saying, lady.
Dre Nicole
Name. Let's give her a shout out.
Lex P
Oh, it's Yellow Tape on Tick Tock. I don't know her exact name.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
But it's called. Let me look it up. Because I. I mean, and she's so good. She gets into all the details. Oh, let me. Let me make sure I shout out her TikTok because I listen to her before every single show. It's called. Yeah. Is this called Yellow Tape Dot do not cross. So shout out to her. She's. She's fire.
Dre Nicole
Is she from. From Houston? Cause I feel like a lot of her stories be, like, stuff in Texas.
Lex P
I don't know. But I do see a lot of her stories be Houston based, so I don't know. Maybe. But she's good. Shout out to her.
Listener/Caller
Shout out to her.
Dre Nicole
That girl is good.
Lex P
So that girl is good. I'd be like this when I feel. I give her a standing ovation, but. How's your week in LA been?
Dre Nicole
It's been good. I've been having a good time. Very sleepy girl, though.
Lex P
Very sleepy girl.
Dre Nicole
Which is unlike me.
Lex P
Yeah, it'd be me. That'd be sleep.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I've been tired.
Lex P
We've been on the go.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I've been really tired. So I'm really excited that when we get back to Atlanta this week, we get to be home for a few weeks. We haven't did that in a really long time because we've been touring and I've got, like.
Lex P
I got so much to do in my house.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
But I'm taking some time off this week. I'm just gonna chill, just gonna relax. Yes. I can't do it, child.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, we be needing a little break, a reset sometimes, you know, my. I think I told you. My lease is up soon, so I've been trying to figure out what I want to do with it.
Lex P
I mean, the good thing is you're in a blessed position, so whatever you do is gonna be a great choice.
Dre Nicole
It's time for me to move, though, Lex, because a lot of people know not.
Lex P
No pictures, please.
Listener/Caller
Okay.
Lex P
Big Dre in the building, please, no pictures.
Dre Nicole
Seriously.
Lex P
It's a safety issue.
Dre Nicole
And I. And don't get me wrong, like, my building is very safe, but it's like people on my floor. Oh, now.
Lex P
Wow.
Dre Nicole
Who have stopped me, who, like, listen to the show and stuff. So I do think it's time for me to move. But I'm not gonna lie, because of our Schedule and like everything we have going on right now. I think I might like extend my lease for another six months.
Lex P
They don't have something shorter than that though.
Dre Nicole
Well, yeah, maybe three.
Kal Penn
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Or something like that. But like it's up in August and we're gonna be in London.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And then we're gonna be in Europe for a few weeks. So it's around that. That tiny. Your birthdays in August, like it's a lot going on.
Lex P
Yeah. I can't move. Or you could do a month. A month?
Dre Nicole
That's too expensive.
Lex P
Is it?
Dre Nicole
I mean, I got a little money. I ain't trying to pay that well.
Lex P
I'm saying. But if you do month to month, you won't only would do it for like a month or two. It's not like a month to month. For a long extended period of time.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
Or I would do a three month or like a month. A month for two months.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. Because the thing is, I did this lease was only seven, six or seven months because I had planned. I was like, I know. I'm a move in August and then we finalized the tour.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Then we got the London day and I'm like, damn. Actually not really good timing.
Kal Penn
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
So yeah, I think I'm gonna extend it for a few more months.
Lex P
You want to stay in the same area? Are you gonna move on like the outskirts?
Dre Nicole
I don't know yet. That's all stuff I'm still trying to figure out. That's why I'm like, it's. It's just not a good time because I don't even have the capacity to think about that right now with everything that we got going on.
Lex P
Damn.
Dre Nicole
So, yeah. But yeah, LA has been fun though.
Lex P
I love me some LA child.
Dre Nicole
But maybe we'll get a place out here one day. Like to be bicoastal. Who, us? We can like share it. It could be like a timeshare. You know how old people be having time shares.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Maybe we could get a timeshare.
Lex P
I feel like I would have to be out here like strictly for work though. Like I wouldn't come out here and just live to be living. It's like too expensive. It takes.
Dre Nicole
You can afford it.
Lex P
I heard I got $4 after this
Dre Nicole
LA trip at a 0 to 40. Moving on way from 3.
Lex P
Oh no. But LA is expensive. All these Ubers we've been taking, we definitely are getting a driver next time. It takes 30 minutes to go three miles. LA is just a lot. I. I love LA. No shade. No shade to the The west coast poor crew because we'll be back for the show. But I couldn't see myself living here. It's just really expensive. Like my house that I bought in Atlanta, out here, it would. It would be a shack. That price. It would be a shack.
Dre Nicole
Seriously, he would have paid double that
Lex P
and I would have paid double that. Yes. So. Love you, la. I'm gonna have to hit a serious, serious bankroll for me to get some
Dre Nicole
property out here that's coming. Oh.
Lex P
I mean, yeah. But I would rather just go.
Grainger Advertiser
I would.
Dre Nicole
I always say I would. I would get a place here. I don't think I would live here like permanently though. But like, I could have a place here and kind of like come here when I feel like it because I got a place.
Lex P
I'm gonna probably buy a house in like Utah, Wyoming, someplace like that. And we can ride horses. We'll be safe and we'll be safe from Will.
Dre Nicole
I'm not coming to fucking.
Lex P
You're coming to Wyoming, bro. And you would actually really love it. It's beautiful out there.
Dre Nicole
I believe it. I believe it. It's certain places in the United States that I just feel like I can see it on Instagram. I don't need to go there.
Lex P
I'mma move to Wyoming. Don't be trying to come to my house either.
Dre Nicole
I' ma just come to your Atlanta house when you in Atlanta.
Lex P
Okay, let's get to the first topic. Okay. What we got going on? Okay, soft it up.
Dre Nicole
You gonna read?
Lex P
No, I was just saying. Okay, do your thing, sis. Do your thing.
Dre Nicole
Okay, so for the first topic, we gonna do a lyric breakdown. Oh, we gonna see what do they mean by this? And we gonna break down a few lyrics, but from a few popular songs. Like everybody who watches this show at this point, I think they know we're both like singers. Well, I was gonna say music heads, we both are very well versed when it comes to music. Like literally, we really are. You're a little bit more of an anr. I. I feel like you could have been an A R in your past life. Me, not so much because I don't be knowing about
Lex P
a lot of like
Dre Nicole
indie artists and like new up and coming. Like, I feel like your ear really be to the streets, but when it
Lex P
comes to Lucci got the key to the streets. I got the ear to the streets.
Dre Nicole
Uh huh.
Lex P
Shout out to Lucci Fay.
Dre Nicole
You do got the ear to the street.
Lex P
Oh, shit.
Dre Nicole
So yeah, I feel like you be knowing about a lot of like, indie artists more up and coming people. But I'm very well versed in general when it comes to music, and you are too. Like, from rock to pop, to r B to rap, we be knowing everything.
Lex P
But the girls did say they thought I made it up on the last episode. Everybody's been sending me the clips of the Britney Spears and the yin yang song, the yin yang twins that we talked about the other week. On the solo episode, you did say
Dre Nicole
they had a song.
Lex P
Yes. And everybody was like, oh, my gosh, I did not know that. And I was like, y' all thought I just made that up. Why would I sit on a platform this large and just make it up that, like, it can't be proven? They was like, oh, you wasn't lying. I was like, y' all really thought.
Dre Nicole
To be fair, though, you be lying.
Lex P
But, like, I did not make that up that time. That's something that you don't. I know how to lie about certain things.
Dre Nicole
I always know when you lying, but
Lex P
you gotta lie about certain things. I'm not gonna make up that. And then I'm not gonna make that up that. She has a song with Snoop Dogg. It's a whole video out there, right? You know, it's proof. But yeah, shout out to Brittany.
Dre Nicole
She probably twirling right now in that low rise panties. Do you know Shay know somebody that's cool with the yin yang twins? I mean, well, that's like, related to them.
Lex P
Yes, she's told me 40 times. Yes, yes, I know. She never lets me forget.
Dre Nicole
Would you wanna have them on the show?
Lex P
They're legends. I think people don't realize what to the window to the wall did to the club. Bitch. I was in the teen club at the time, But I was throwing that bitch. I was throwing that monkey.
Dre Nicole
We old. We showing our age, bro.
Lex P
I've been popping pussy since middle school. Like, my mom would drop me off at the teen club and they was playing yin yang twins, and I was like, to the window to the wall.
Dre Nicole
I'm not trying to be funny. What, Y' all had teething clubs in orange?
Lex P
No, it was in Beaumont, so we would have to drive to Beaumont. So that was like a thing. So, like.
Dre Nicole
Cause I'm like, what? The people you was hanging with, they was not listening to Yang.
Lex P
Yes, they. She is. See, you don't know. You gotta come to orange. We got a little sweat. They used to love Paulwa. Really? Yes. Like, we listen to all type of Lindsay. Like, my best friend Lindsay. That's still my girl. Like, she definitely was like, listening to the same music that I would listen to. And she loved to pop her.
Dre Nicole
She probably used to be like, yeah,
Lex P
Lindsay used to be throwing it back. You remember them little skirts? Them little Hollister skirts, The flowy skirts that they're coming back in style now.
Dre Nicole
The ones that young Miami had on in their. Yes, she said, it's moving.
Lex P
Yes. We would wear those skirts, but it was like a thing. So my mom would drop us off and Lindsey's mom would bring us back. Or they would switch. Lindsey's mom would bring us, and my mom would bring us back. But that was like the tough shift because it closed at midnight. So you would have to leave your house at like 11:30. Takes 30 minutes to get the Beaumont, pick us up and then drive right back. There was no Uber then. Yeah, so you definitely. But they used to be playing Yin Yang twins in the club. And we used to be like, can I get a Red Bull? I used to sit at the bar, order a Red Bull, and the boy, like, if you had a Beaumont boyfriend, you would see I always had me a nigga in Bomain.
Dre Nicole
That's when you had that banging.
Lex P
It was thick, too. It was thick. And I just knew, like, tonight will be tonight that I wake up for you.
Dre Nicole
I said I was about to say die for you.
Lex P
That's my weed. No, but honestly. But the teen club. I will say no. Window to the wall. It wasn't middle school. It was high school for me. And that was when I was out.
Dre Nicole
You know, you my elder.
Lex P
Yes, I'm your elder. So respect your. Respect your auntie. I'mma get like, Joe. Michael. Michael.
Dre Nicole
Oh, okay. Michael. This is a very unorthodox episode because we didn't even got on the first topic yet. But for real, though, why was he saying that like that?
Lex P
Do you feel like that's how Joe
Dre Nicole
Jackson really used to say that, or do you feel like it was exaggerated for the movie?
Lex P
You know what's crazy? Did they ever. I'll answer it like this. I feel like I don't know if Joe Jackson. Cause I don't want to speak bad on the Dead.
Dre Nicole
She ain't here.
Lex P
What he gonna do? But I don't know if he was an alcoholic or not or if he had substance abuse issues, but I imagine if he was drunk, he was definitely saying that name like that.
Dre Nicole
I really love people who can. Like cold sweet. Yeah, you a really good actor if
Lex P
you could do that.
Dre Nicole
Because Coleman Domingo, he is very versatile. That was like. I feel like he really embodied Joe Jackson for real in that Role. That is crazy. But I was like, now y' all know Joe was way smaller than neck.
Lex P
Smaller? Like weight wise?
Dre Nicole
No, like short.
Lex P
Oh, yeah, he was definitely short.
Dre Nicole
He was a little man. That's why he acted like that.
Lex P
Yeah, little.
Dre Nicole
We don't talking about little.
Lex P
Oh, they be angry.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Angry.
Dre Nicole
That's why he acted like that. Comey Domingo was too tall to play him.
Lex P
And K. Domingo's kind of like you lowkey too. Fine. Like, y' all tried it. Not saying that Joe is. Wasn't a handsome man. It was the contacts for me. My. It was a lot. It was a lot going on. But he did a great job.
Dre Nicole
That's why he acted like that too. Cause quiet as he's killed black people. The black community, people who be having light eyes, they really be thinking that they like better than the rest of us.
Lex P
The chosen ones.
Dre Nicole
And you low key. Y' all are. That's okay.
Lex P
I mean, it's pretty. It's a pretty feature.
Dre Nicole
I don't know who to give it to, though.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Cause if me and you had light
Lex P
eyes, they would be sick in me. I'm like. Because I as a person with light eyes, like, that's what I would talk about all the time. I would. Do you see this?
Dre Nicole
Hey.
Lex P
And you know, you would be bad. Bitches hate me because my eyes is green. That's how you.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, they be jealous.
Lex P
Everybody jealous of me. Listen, though.
Dre Nicole
Well, no, I don't feel like I feel that way, though.
Lex P
No, I'm saying you always said that, like, your mom would.
Dre Nicole
Oh, my mom always pour into you
Lex P
and be like, them hoes be hating on you. Which they do. Them hoes be hating on you. We be having stalkers. Dre.
Dre Nicole
They be hating on you too, though.
Lex P
Really bad. It's kind of.
Dre Nicole
I feel like you a little bit more. What's the word I'm looking for? You're a little more humble about stuff. Like, I think you don't be. I kind of don't be wanting to accept it either, though. Like, I be like, no, they not hating. Like. Yeah, but you really like that?
Lex P
Because I'm like, there's no way.
Dre Nicole
Hating on us. Like, for no reason.
Lex P
I'd be like, there's no way you're doing all this. There's no way. There's no way. And then you're like, oh, there is a way where there's a Will these hoes gonna find a hating ass way. They gonna find it every time. But back to the Michael movie real quick.
Dre Nicole
No. Why we do people treat Us, like, we really don't, bro, because it's.
Lex P
Because we talk shit. We do be talking our.
Dre Nicole
But we be playing a. Like, it don't be for real.
Lex P
Sorry.
Target Advertiser
I think it's cuz.
Lex P
Sorry, Joe. Jackie. I think it's cuz we talk. We just kind of stand in and we don't. We don't really care. So I think a lot of times the. The freeness that we have of just being ourselves, we're un. We get to exist and be ourselves, and we get rewarded for that constantly. So a lot of people, they can't be there now. Oh, my God. Do you know how I'm. I felt so bad yesterday. I'm going have to tell D to cut that from the documentary. When we were driving up to the BT wars, he was like, oh, cuz, if you're. If you're important, go over there. I said, we are. I was pissed. I was pissed. I had to let him have it. We are, cuz he tried to play me.
Dre Nicole
I thought I told you I'm a star. You see the I.
Lex P
Yeah, we got to cut that out. What?
Dre Nicole
That song.
Lex P
It's nothing to break down because he lied. I'm sorry. I was just kidding. Jeremiah. That was a joke. Why don't people accept why it's a joke? I'm joking. Clearly. He's a star. It's been my birthday, so I know. I want to ride out for like, 10 years, bro. Classic Records birthday sex is classic. I was joking. He's very much a star. I love him. What?
Dre Nicole
Cause you're like, tough crowd. You know how people be saying stuff and they be trying to convince themselves. I feel like that's what you was trying to do.
Lex P
Tough crowd. Shout out to Jeremiah.
Dre Nicole
Okay, bitch, first topic. We only gonna do two of these songs because of the time, okay? So Too close by Nick. Shout out to RL Y' all know he's a friend of the show.
Lex P
Love our brother.
Dre Nicole
Yes, but I know you can tell I'm excited. Oh, girl, step back. You're dancing kind of close. I feel a little poke coming through on you now, girl. I know you felt it, but boo. You know I can't help it. You know what I want to do. How do you feel about that?
Lex P
First of all, I can't believe I was singing this song as a tiny tot. Why is your hard dick on my back? And I'm just trying to throw it to the window, to the wall to say. And then a little hard.
Dre Nicole
Nick on my bed, bro.
Lex P
No, not in the club. Control Yourself.
Dre Nicole
Let me see what you working with. I need a sample.
Lex P
Not show me what you working with, mystical. You need to go join him in jail. That's where you need to go. Cause what? No. And then the girl was with the shits. I feel a little poke coming through on you. She was ready.
Dre Nicole
She said that thing. Thank you.
Lex P
No, I don't like that. I feel like in the club, we're supposed to be having fun dancing.
Dre Nicole
You already just told me you used to be in them teen clubs in Balmain. And back in the day, that's all we used to be doing in the teen clubs. We was grinding and we was dry humping. We was dry hopping.
Lex P
But that don't mean be hard. Control yourself.
Dre Nicole
You supposed to be hard. We in puberty.
Lex P
If you get hard while I'm dancing.
Dre Nicole
As hard as you should be. No, it gets worse. As you get older, it stops getting hard.
Lex P
I think that's gross. Like, that's why when we in the club and you dance and a nigga come up behind you, you be like, uh, that's you. You like that? I.
T-Mobile Advertiser
If he.
Dre Nicole
If I like him.
Lex P
So if you're dancing the club and a stranger came up behind you, are you.
Dre Nicole
Is he fine?
Lex P
You finna throw it back. Yes, that's what you said at the back.
Dre Nicole
Little poke coming through.
Lex P
You know, as quiet as his camp. You're not boy crazy, but you be having a ball. You was at the basketball game. Like, it's so fine.
Dre Nicole
I love. I love me. I love dealing with a rich. I love me a. Yeah.
Lex P
He was like, it's some fine in him, but I'm not. The moans was getting louder. You was moaning real hard. You was just sitting on the side like,
Dre Nicole
yeah, but I. But I. But what I do love about me is. That's what I was saying. I'm not like male sending outside.
Lex P
No, you're not.
Dre Nicole
Like, love me or Nikka. Like, when we're outside where my girls come first.
Lex P
Yes. But like when we're outside and it's like men in the vicinity, you gonna lay it. Oh. You be like, okay, party's here. You be shaking up titties, walking through the crowd. You be having fun.
Dre Nicole
Cause they be looking at me, they be quieting me down.
Lex P
You be having a ball, sister. I was like, oh, Terrayah. She's like, you wanna go to the bathroom? She likes to make her rounds. Darreya gonna make that lap around the club. No doubt. You're making at least.
Dre Nicole
Cause when the ballers is out, you gotta make sure they see you and
Lex P
you start the twisting and putting that head down. She get the twisting, huh? What you said no, nobody said nothing.
Listener/Caller
Huh?
Lex P
So you can stop in the middle of the room.
Dre Nicole
That is my favorite little moment. I be like, what?
Lex P
Nobody said shit. You gonna stop in the middle of everybody? What?
Dre Nicole
I be doing this to you? And I be like, wait, Shay, what you say? They be like, nah, nothing, bitch.

That's what I say. I'll make one lap and I'm cause
Dre Nicole
you really for real act like a old ass lady.
Lex P
Yeah it's time to sit down.
Dre Nicole
I be trying to be outside.
Lex P
I'm young and turned yeah it's time to sit down bitch. Okay, let's do the next one. Let's do the next one. We Keep getting off topic. 21 questions by 50 cent. If I fell off tomorrow, would you still love me? If I didn't smell so good, would you still hug me? If I got locked up and sentenced to a quarter century, could I count on you to be there to support me mentally? Hell, no. Why are you musty? If I didn't smell so good, would you still hug me? What's the bigger issue?
Dre Nicole
I would, but I wouldn't do it again.
Lex P
Why are you musty? Being musty is crazy, though.
Dre Nicole
But the thing about musty people is you don't find out till you hug them, though.
Lex P
Oh, it's a solid killer. It creeps up on you.
Dre Nicole
It creeps up. You don't know until you get close.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Must ain't really like. It's the difference between being funky.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And then a little must. Yeah, like a little must. You gotta get close.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
When people be funky, you smell that from a distance.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yeah.
Lex P
Yeah. But you can.
Dre Nicole
Remember we talked about that.
Lex P
That green smoke that follow em traveling. Yeah. But I feel like must. You can feel it. Like, I can always feel. I'm like, ooh.
Dre Nicole
You can feel it in the air.
Kal Penn
Yes.
Lex P
I can feel when my armpits. Something ain't sitting right. When they start getting kind of sticky, that means the deodorant gone. Yeah. You know. You know how them armpits will get sweaty and they start kind of feeling like ain't nothing there.
Dre Nicole
Sticky. Sticky.
Lex P
I thought I was fitting. I was saying.
Listener/Caller
Hold on.
Lex P
Not the cough coming from inside the house.
Dre Nicole
Sticky.
Knix Advertiser
What?
Dre Nicole
What's sticky?
Lex P
Like, you know when your armpits. Like the deodorant has worn out and there's nothing on your arm. So it's in a closed, confined space. So it's not like stick sticky. Not like syrup stuff sticky. It's just kind of like that sound thick.
Dre Nicole
That sound like they been building up.
Lex P
Like, you know how when you. Yo, you thick and your thighs kind of rub together and you ain't got no lotion on? Like, that's what I mean. It kind of like something don't feel right.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
Something don't feel right. But if I didn't smell so good, would you still hug me? It's fucking crazy. I wonder if 50 Cent was musty. I can't wait. It's journaling, though.
Dre Nicole
No, I don't want to say nothing. Cause I don't want him to come. Definitely.
Lex P
Oh, he's going to tear us.
Dre Nicole
He see this clip, he going to rip us a new one.
Lex P
Do not clip this I want cuz
Dre Nicole
I will say these. I wanted to say that that wife beater gave my te.
Lex P
I love them jeans.
Dre Nicole
A wife beater with jeans is musty.
Lex P
But you can't lie. Them G Unit wife beaters was five.
Dre Nicole
I had one.
Lex P
What? For what?
Dre Nicole
Cuz it was fly.
Lex P
And what? You used to wear it with deodorant? What is wrong with you? No, we not doing this. I'm sorry. 50 Cent.
Dre Nicole
Shout out to 50 Cent. 50 Cent, come on the show. It be a good episode.
Lex P
But you know what?
Dre Nicole
One bar, he trolling like us.
Lex P
I know. I think he would be a good guy. But I do like this bar because this one hit home for me.
Listener/Caller
Mm.
Lex P
If I was hit and I was hurt, would you be by my side? Because when I got hit by that car, you stood there, you sat right there with me and you did not leave my side. And I looked up at you and I said, girl, is he the love me now? And you stayed there and you held my head. He was like, lex, stay away. Clicks.
Dre Nicole
You know, first of all, bitch, you was not about to die.
Lex P
I was like, this.
Dre Nicole
You being dramatic. You did get hit.
Lex P
You hold my head.
Dre Nicole
Lex did get hit by a car. She's not lying. I witnessed it.
Lex P
And you stood by myself.
Dre Nicole
The car was more hurt than you was, though.
Lex P
Damn, damn, damn.
Dre Nicole
That's a testament to me, like. Cause I feel like I don't brag about the type of friend I am and how solid I am and stuff. But for real, though, I really am that friend. Like, I got your bag.
Lex P
You was right there.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
When I. When my eyes opened, the first thing I saw, I saw two of you, but I saw you. And then y'.
Dre Nicole
All this how you know Lick's crazy because she still wanted to go out. Like, she still wanted to go to the place that we were supposed to be going to. After she got.
Lex P
Everybody was like, nah, we gonna take the.
Dre Nicole
We gonna head on in.
Lex P
All right.
Dre Nicole
Cause you killed the vibe.
Lex P
I definitely. I always. I love being a vibe killer sometimes, though. Let's crash this party. Come on. Oh.
Dre Nicole
We were supposed to have a good night, and then we performed the next day.
Lex P
But that was.
Dre Nicole
Can you believe we performers? Like, what the fuck be going on?
Lex P
And somebody. My sister sent me a picture of me, and I was screaming in the mic sweat. And she was like, a poor mom's episode never called for these. She was like, you look like James Brown.
Dre Nicole
You know what's funny? Because I know what picture you talking about. You talking from the Houston show because Shay Sent me the link the other day because I hadn't. Because you know, I posted finally posting my Houston pictures the other day. So I hadn't looked through the photos. And Shay sent me the link and your face was so wet. I thought she was crying. I said, shay, is she crying? And then I zoomed in and it was sweet.
Lex P
I'll be working hard.
Dre Nicole
And she rained what the fuck you was doing? But it don't require all that.
Lex P
She said, I have never seen one poor mom's episode that need all.
Dre Nicole
You was sweating your ass off at that Houston show, bro.
Lex P
It was hot in there.
Dre Nicole
But you wasn't musty.
Lex P
I wasn't musty, bro. You right.
Dre Nicole
You smell really good.
Lex P
You know what I feel like all the time? That's probably the number one compliment I get. It's crazy. Cause Ken and Cooley, they was in LA too. Mind you, I had take a shower. I took a shower the night before. I lotioned up and I just went to bed. So when they woke up, they got there early and their room wasn't ready. So they had to come in my room. She walked in the room, she was like, oh my God, what is that? She was like, it smells so good in here. I was like, I just. And I didn't spray anything. I put on lotion the night before, but that was it. I don't know. It's just some of my body.
Dre Nicole
It's a pheromone.
Lex P
I think it is. I don't know, but I get that like constantly. Literally like every two seconds they're like, oh my God, you smell so good.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
Maybe it comes with age.
Dre Nicole
People tell me that a lot too.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
I feel like we both are like fragrance girls.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yeah.
Lex P
Cause I. I douse down in my oils and my lotions and my sprays, so I love smelling.
Dre Nicole
But you do. You smell really good all the time. And like. So even when you be sweating, you was sweating, but you wear musty.
Lex P
I look like that James Brown photo.
Dre Nicole
Okay.
Lex P
This is a man's world. Okay. All right.
Dre Nicole
Remember when he came up, he said, that was me. That's where that man got that from.
Lex P
What man?
Dre Nicole
James Brown.
Target Advertiser
Who?
Dre Nicole
The man.
Lex P
What man? I hate him. Please stop.
Dre Nicole
He said you love him. I do.
Lex P
You really do like him.
Dre Nicole
He's me personally. I like. Cause I be feeling like that a lot. I don't do it outwardly, but I do.
Lex P
You and Shay be doing that how
Dre Nicole
we feel like that on the inside. It never gets old.
Lex P
I like this because it never gets old when people tell you, how fine you are. It don't get old.
Dre Nicole
It don't like. I get it. I get him. I get the essence. He was like, he is me. He's me inside.
Lex P
Okay. We with him. I don't know his name, though.
Knix Advertiser
Yeah.
Lex P
All right, let's move on. Let's move on. We're going to talk about 14 different things.
Dre Nicole
Okay. Yes. We just gon. Go ahead and get into topic number two.
Lex P
Okay, so topic number two is kind of a little silly, but we were having a conversation in the car. We were like, do you think animals have celebrities in their community? Like, if you are at a dog park, right. Do you think that they know that that's air Bud that just walked by? Or, like, if Lassie came to the park, they'd be like, oh, shit, that's Lassie, bitch.
Dre Nicole
Or Clifford.
Lex P
Clifford. Clifford is that nigga.
Dre Nicole
But see, this is not Harry.
Lex P
What the. Lord? Lord, no. Stop pouring her shit.
Dre Nicole
Thank you, Alan Zay. I put a little Alanzay.
Lex P
But I'm saying, though. But you know why I think that they don't? Because, like, a golden retriever. There's, like, 60 golden retrievers. How do you know which one is Airbuds? Like the Taco Bell dog rip. Damn, I forgot that nigga died.
Dre Nicole
But I feel like dogs got shit that, like, make them distinctive, just like humans. Like a mole.
Lex P
Like a Cuban. Like a Cuban.
Dre Nicole
No, like a mole. Well, first of all, they have tags.
Lex P
Oh, they got dog tags. Like, that's icy.
Dre Nicole
Because, like, this is how you know you astray.
Lex P
I'm sorry. Okay, go ahead. Go ahead.
Dre Nicole
This is how you know you. This is how you know you astray versus if you come from a good family in a good home, like, yo, people care about you if you got a dog tag. If you ain't got a dog tag,
Lex P
you a orphan in the arms of the angel.
Dre Nicole
That shit is sad as fuck.
Lex P
Oh, have you. No, because.
Dre Nicole
Tell the truth. Have you ever donated money? Cause I have.
Lex P
I don't think I have to that. Cause I don't know exactly where it's going.
Dre Nicole
It makes me. The song itself be like, I got to give a little something to the
Lex P
dogs, but I feel like sometimes they was planting them flies around them. They be having flies on their eyeball. Why is that there? That's a plastic fly.
Dre Nicole
You think it's robotic flies.
Lex P
Y' all set that there? Like, please be fucking for real. It's too much. It's too much. I think that animals can.
Dre Nicole
Or they think dogs.
Lex P
First of all, I don't care. 90 of dogs stink. I don't care how. I hate when I can walk in somebody's house and smell that they have a dog. I hate that.
Dre Nicole
That's always.
Lex P
I know. It's very rare you meet a dog on. They finna be mad. I don't care. It's very rare you meet a dog owner. I'm gonna shave. I ain't been inside the house yet, but I swear. Contact. So he different. Ice has contact, then. Ice is weird. As I talk about our nephew. Ice is weird, bro. He a little off.
Dre Nicole
I like ice.
Lex P
I do like ice. Yes, that's what it is. Yeah, he does give that.
Dre Nicole
He gives spectrum. Yeah, but we don't think he won't see this episode.
Lex P
He gonna see it. Remember that AI video, Abrah? You touch me, I' ma bite your ass.
Dre Nicole
Shout out to Ice.
Lex P
Oh, little icy. Oh, Lord have mercy. Okay. But I do think that animals can tell. Like, you know that girl. Oh, I wish I could think of her name that has the pit bull on Tik Tok. And she, like, makes him these intricate meals. Like, he be eating, like, quail eggs, Rain. The pit bull. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Oh, she be doing the nails and everything.
Lex P
Yes. Like, I think, like, dogs can tell, like, if you come to the park, like, they got that on. They be in boots. Their nails are painted. They're groom. They get groomed. They have a nice tag. Like, you can tell the difference between the dog owners, like, and dogs can see that.
Dre Nicole
That's what I'm saying.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
But I don't think they can tell
Lex P
if it's a celebrity.
Dre Nicole
But you is like, I think they know Kylie Jenner dog.
Lex P
That ugly one. Oh, sorry. What was this? The name Herman. Norman, wasn't it? Norman?
Dre Nicole
I think so. Maybe. But I'm just saying I feel like they know, like, this collie dog.
Lex P
Yeah. Doesn't Jason have a dog, too? A scary one.
Dre Nicole
She do. She. I think she got, like, a Frenchie or something.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
But I feel like they be knowing, like, I'm not gonna lie. When I get my dog. You got to respect my dog when they come to the park.
Lex P
You're gonna get a dog?
Kal Penn
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Why? Once I get a house.
Lex P
For what?
Dre Nicole
Because I want one.
Lex P
No, you don't.
Dre Nicole
You don't know me.
Lex P
Yes, I do. You have never.
Dre Nicole
You don't know me like that if you think I don't want to.
Lex P
What kind of dog you want?
Dre Nicole
This is the thing. And you right. People are gonna get upset. I'm a little, like. Especially the older that I'm getting. I think I'm like OCD mixed with hypochondriac. Like, what's that?
Lex P
You think you can't color in the lines or something?
Dre Nicole
No. So like obviously ocd, like, you know, you're mixed with germaphobe. Like ocd. You know, you like things to be a certain way. It has to be very particular. I do feel like I'm becoming more like that as I get older. And then I said hypochondriac because I've all. I've always been a hypochondriac.
Lex P
What is that?
Dre Nicole
I'm a. Like you always. I go to the doctor all the time. Like any little thing.
Lex P
Oh, okay.
Dre Nicole
I'm like, what's wrong? And then I think the worst. And like it really don't be that de.
Lex P
Yeah, that's why I don't Google cuz web detail. You got cancer every time you going to die. Yeah.
Dre Nicole
So I'm a little bit of a hypochondriac. And then as I'm getting older, I'm a little bit of a germaphobe.
Lex P
You know who's a germaphobe? Flocka? Yes, our dj.
Dre Nicole
She is. I don't think I've reached that level yet because she carries to toilet seat covers. I ain't there yet.
Lex P
She still wears her mat and there's nothing wrong with it. But I was like, oh my. She wiped out, wipes everything down. She was like saying how like she keeps clean. Like she always changes. She changes her panties all the time. Like she's a clean. I'm not saying.
Dre Nicole
See, I don't even wear panties.
Lex P
Yeah, you definitely not there yet. Queen. Yeah, you got panties on right now.
Listener/Caller
You.
Lex P
It's denim, bitch. That coochie finna be toe up. I hope you have on panties with denim. That's crazy. That's crazy.
Dre Nicole
You want to see?
Lex P
No, no, no, no.
Dre Nicole
I don't have pennies on.
Lex P
But anyways, going back to what you
Dre Nicole
were saying about the doll, like I'm a little bit of a germaphobe. Okay. So like when we be going to hotels, depending on what hotel it is, I will not sleep under the covers. I will sleep on top of the covers and get like an extra blanket because I'll just be scared to sleep under there.
Lex P
That last hotel we were at, it
Dre Nicole
was skiing in my bed.
Lex P
Like Dre said it was skin in her bed. And then like one hotel we saw like it was a dead roach or something in the corner in one of the their rooms. And see Me, I'd be tired. I would have tucked that roach in. Go to sleep.
Dre Nicole
No go to sleep. One thing about leg, she don't give a anywhere. She will sleep anywhere. Like when it comes to booking travel accommodations she just let me book everything thing cuz she know I'm picky as she don't care baby that, that roach
Lex P
would have had a night cat with me. We would have been watching Netflix.
Dre Nicole
Lex will be at the Ramada end. Long as it's $50 a night.
Lex P
No, as long as it's a bed. I'm tired, I'm sleepy. We've been on the road. Let's go to bed baby.
Dre Nicole
You a little more frugal than me too though. So I think it also be about like you be like well trying to budget.
Lex P
Yes. I, I cuz touring we are independent y'. All. We have funded this on tour so I be trying to stay in the margins but I know where we can have a little leeway on certain things and so I be trying to pay attention to the numbers on that and I always try to but you don't ever pick crazy expensive hotels. So we're always. Our budget has been over like in some cities like not by much. Like it's not like a crazy overly amount. You know what I'm saying? And actually the new hotel that we changed when we left the RO Hotel, the other hotel was nicer and it was cheaper so we ended up saving money.
Dre Nicole
So I be trying to save us a little money sometimes. But yeah. So I feel like I'm a little bit of a germaphobe now. So like dogs in confined spaces. I don't like it cuz you're right. Like they got that smell, they funk and I don't care how much you love your dog, dogs got this meal and if you live in an apartment which is a tight space a lot of the time, even if you got a big apartment like it's still a confined space. I don't like that. It doesn't make me comfortable. Yeah that smell. Having them just roaming around. I think dogs need to be able to be free. Like they need land.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
You need to be able to run outdoors.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And I'm not about to get up
Lex P
at 4aM and take you and you have to.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, we're not doing all that. I'm not getting on no elevator at 4am to take you to go she
Lex P
and for me like outside of like emotional support dogs and like people that have dogs for like medical issues and things like that. Y' all please stop sitting at the bar with y' all animals, bro. Yeah, not in front of my crab cakes. I do not need Rover looking at my crab cakes. His hair everywhere.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
Like I said, unless it's like an emote. Because emotional support dogs, they usually are, like, real. You don't even notice that they're there. A lot of times. Like, a lot of times they'll be sitting and they're not loud, but, like, y' all be having them little bitty yappers, the ones that just are. You know what I'm saying? They be all over the restaurant. They be. I don't like that.
Dre Nicole
And that's what I think. Kind of like scared me too, cuz what if I get a dog that's like, bad as.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yeah.
Lex P
And that happens a lot.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I would be mad.
Lex P
Yes.
Dre Nicole
You better be in the arms of the angels.
Lex P
You gonna give it up for adoption.
Dre Nicole
If they bad, it's gonna kill you.
Lex P
It's this lady.
Dre Nicole
You supposed to bring me peace, bro, not chaos.
Lex P
It's this girl that I follow on Instagram, or I used to follow her, I don't know, but she used to be posting this dog like every five, six weeks to like, give it up. But she would, like, give it to somebody and they would bring it back. She didn't try to give that dog away like three or four times. And they keep getting returned. I think it's a bad dog and she's not being honest about it.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, like, I would be mad. As if I can't especially. You can't. You can't get rid of it, cuz you go to jail if you.
Lex P
Yeah. You can't just drop it off in the middle of the street and you
Dre Nicole
can't do nothing to it. You'll go to jail.
Lex P
What you talking about? Do what to it?
Dre Nicole
Get rid of it.
Lex P
Like how? What are you talking about, get rid of it?
Dre Nicole
You can't put that in the dirt.
Lex P
I don't think that was even an option that anybody was thinking about.
Dre Nicole
Oh,
Lex P
I need to keep my eye on you. That's why you don't need a dog. You don't need a dog. You don't want a dog. You're just saying stuff.
Dre Nicole
No, I really do, though. And I especially once I have kids, I would want to have one for my kids.
Lex P
Kids are too rough with dogs. They be picking them up by their neck and I don't like that.
Dre Nicole
That's that type of penny gonna do, bro.
Lex P
And he wants a dog. Absolutely not.
Dre Nicole
Maybe I should give him A turtle first. Who? Penny?
Lex P
He had a turtle.
Dre Nicole
Had?
Lex P
I don't know where that nigga at? He definitely had a turtle. He was like this big, though. I think they let him free, though. Cause he was getting too big, so he just. What the fuck? He had a turtle let him free. I think they let him go.
Dre Nicole
They just let him walk out?
Lex P
No, like, they put him, like, in the creek or something. Turtles let him go.
Dre Nicole
What if an alligator ate him?
Lex P
It's the circle of life. That's all right. That's what happens in the jungle.
Dre Nicole
I don't like that. Y' all should have took him to Petco.
Lex P
For what? To put him in the system. You don't put a black man in the system, bro. You let that black man run. He was a black turtle and you let that black man run free?
Dre Nicole
No, but he could have found another. Like, he could have found a better home. How do y' all know this?
Lex P
His home is nature.

Kal Penn
hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Irsay, the Audible and I Heart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast I'm sitting down with Lily Chu, the author of the Audible original romantic comedy Just Kiss Already. It's a story about a forensic anthropologist who secretly writes mystery novels, an actress who adapts his book into a film, and what happens when a meme and a media tour collide with a slow burn romance. It's performed by Simu Liu and Philippa Hsu, and it is an absolute blast.
T-Mobile Advertiser
When you actually hear the performance, you realize that other people are taking your words and what you thought was kind of a straightforward sentence like the cat in the corner is black. In my head, it's the cat in the the corner is black. Not the dog, not the gerbil. But someone else might say it the cat in the corner is black. That's always fascinating to me how they just bring in all these different nuances and really make it fun and interesting

And that's y' all problem. Y' all thinking being in the system and being in this is better.
Listener/Caller
Mm.
Lex P
What he said at the end of the Black Panther. I don't know. He would've rather sunk to the bottom and been with his ancestors. That's what we did to that turtle. We sent him free to be with his ancestors.
Dre Nicole
Bitch, I don't like that lick.
Lex P
Why?
Dre Nicole
Cause that's not okay. Like, you supposed to make sure he was safe.
Lex P
He was. He's in nature. They eat grass. He was by the creek. I'm gonna ask my sister what happened to him.
Dre Nicole
How the she gonna know y' all lost contact with him?
Lex P
The turtle?
Dre Nicole
Yes.
Lex P
She clearly gave him a cell phone.
Dre Nicole
Okay,
Lex P
okay.
Dre Nicole
I do got one more question, though.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
What do you think would make an animal famous? Strength, beauty, intelligence, Surviving impossible situations or being the leader of the pack?
Lex P
I think too. I think being the leader of the pack, that's one like, Mufasa was famous. What was the monkey's name on Rafiki? Not Rafiki. The movie. Planet of the Apes. What was the main. Ceasar. Ceasar was that nigga, bro. And then Ceasar did a GQ magazine shoot. He had on a Versace tux.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, he did.
Lex P
Caesar. Did he not do a GQ shoot?
Listener/Caller
He did.
Lex P
Cause he was the leader of the pack. I also think who you're in connection.
Dre Nicole
Which fine too. If we talking about, like,
Grainger Advertiser
I just
Lex P
can't get through this episode and I'm getting. You need to be stopped. What did I do? Ceasar was fine. Shay talking about. He was.
Dre Nicole
Shay gets me. She's a father.
Lex P
Cesar was fine.
Dre Nicole
He was like a boss.
Lex P
You are addicted to a boss. One thing about it, you would have been dating Ceasar.
Dre Nicole
I was. So I became one. I became what I like.
Lex P
Oh, my God.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, okay. Lex, I'm not about to play with you. I'm not about to play with you. Cause I feel like you're about to lie and it's okay, so I'm gonna just accept it. But you ain't never seen like a cartoon or like an animated movie and been like, okay, this character kind of fine. Like, if they was a person. Not like being like, not bestiality.
Lex P
No, no, no, no. I know.
Dre Nicole
Not like being attracted to like an animal or nothing. But like, you ain't ever like, seen a cartoon or nothing and you was like, okay, if they was a person, that would be cool. Like, a cool person.
Lex P
Oh, you know what? Yeah. What? When Beauty and the Beast. When he turned into a man. Yeah, he was fine. Aladdin was fine.
Dre Nicole
Was a man already.
Lex P
He was a real person. Aladdin was real.
Dre Nicole
Okay, bro. Have you watched the movie?
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Yes. It was a boy already. He was just, like, a poor boy,
Lex P
and he was part of the poor crew.
Dre Nicole
And then he started dating Jasmine. But that's what I'm saying. He's a cart. Having to, like, lie about his origin and, like, what he did and stuff. Because she came from money.
Lex P
Yeah, but Aladdin, he was a thief. Yeah, but he was cute. You asked if I found a cartoon. Fine.
Dre Nicole
I was like, yeah, but that was a boy.
Lex P
Oh, you mean like a. Like an animal or something? I'm not gonna lie. No, I've never been like, oh, damn, that dog. Fine as.
Dre Nicole
No, not fine as, but just like.
Kal Penn
Okay.
Dre Nicole
I like his aura.
Lex P
I think Rafiki had aura, bro. So you asked me a question, and then you judge me when I. This is not a safe space, bro.
Dre Nicole
Okay, my bad. You right, Queen.
Lex P
Yeah, I liked Rafiki. They, you know, they. They be saying, nah.
Dre Nicole
So what did you like about Rafiki's aura?
Lex P
I like the fact that Rafiki was a healer. That was a black man, too. And he looked out for the people. He had the natural medicines, the juices, the berries. He protected his people.
Dre Nicole
He was Dr. Se.
Lex P
Thank you. And Dr. Sey was fine. Oh, we're going down.
Dre Nicole
Okay, so Rafiki and who else? You said Nyla.
Lex P
They say Nyla was pretty. The lion.
Dre Nicole
Yes, she. And that's what I'm saying. Like, she was a beautiful lion.
Knix Advertiser
Yeah.
Lex P
Okay, I see what you saying now. I see what you're saying.
Dre Nicole
Mufasa was like, that scar. Weak as.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Scar dirty. Was that dirty? That sell Reggie?
Lex P
Yeah, he was definitely giving that dirty. He could sing, though. He could sing.
Dre Nicole
They all could sing.
Lex P
Yeah. Deception Disgrace. That was a bop. That was in the second line, King.
Dre Nicole
That was. But, yeah, I mean, that's what I'm saying. Like, I feel like. You got the car. They make them look like that on purpose, too. Because it's like there's somebody supposed to be, like, fine.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
And attractive. And then somebody is like, how did
Lex P
you feel about Pumbaa?
Target Advertiser
You.
Lex P
How did you feel about.
Dre Nicole
No, you. That's you.
Lex P
That's me. Yeah. They do say.
Dre Nicole
We talked about that on the episode. I'm to my own. You Pumba.
Lex P
I mean, it. Would you be attracted.
Dre Nicole
You was a Young warthog.
Lex P
Oh, my gosh. I was a young warthog. Life was good.
Dre Nicole
I was a young warhead too. But yeah, Pumbano, he's not attractive.
Lex P
Oh, but back to.
Dre Nicole
But you are. That's why I don't. I don't really like the comparison.
Lex P
I like Pumba, though, because he was funny.
Dre Nicole
He was funny.
Lex P
He was thick. As I can see the comparisons.
Dre Nicole
Timon Tom was cool, though. He wasn't thick like me, though.
Lex P
No. Yeah, he wasn't thick at all.
Dre Nicole
But he was funny, though.
Lex P
But going back to your point about the animals, I also think it's in proximity to who they're with. Like, Free Willy knew Michael Jackson. So, like, you're Free Willy. That's why SeaWorld is still a thing to this day, is because of Michael Jackson and Free Willie. Facts. That's why the Yin Yang twins are there performing this summer at Sea World. They have a Sea World series.
Dre Nicole
How do you know these?
Lex P
Cause they announced it.
Dre Nicole
You follow them?
Lex P
Yes. And I was thinking about going to one. Pretty Ricky is there. You know, we gotta take a field trip.
Dre Nicole
You know, Shay gonna go.
Lex P
It's like a summer series, though. They have concerts. Like Soulja Boy did it. A lot of people do it and it actually looks really fun.
Dre Nicole
We should see if we could do it.
Lex P
I'm not mad at that.
Dre Nicole
Yeah. A poor mind's life at Sea World.
Lex P
Oh, it's gonna be lit.
Dre Nicole
Free Willie dead. But his descendants.
Lex P
He's dead. Ain't nobody tell me nothing.
Dre Nicole
Lex, you gotta know that. That Will is dead.
Lex P
That I told you who did the body.
Dre Nicole
No, seriously, he really is dead.
Lex P
No, he's not.
Dre Nicole
Look it up. I don't have my phone. I think he is dead, though. I don't know what the lifespan. I don't know what the lifespan of shaking Wells are. He's still alive. He's dead. I heard that. Yeah.
Lex P
Oh, my God.
Listener/Caller
Wells.
Lex P
Pneumonia. They had that baby out in the cold.
Dre Nicole
I didn't know Wells can get pneumonia.
Lex P
He was 27. Don't they say that's the age where, like, celebrities die? The 27 curse or something?
Dre Nicole
At 27?
Lex P
Yes. Have y' all heard of that?
Dre Nicole
We beat the curse.
Lex P
I know, but y' all know that's
Dre Nicole
like a curse, like, that's celebrities.
Lex P
Oh, I was just going along with it, but, yeah, he died at 27. There's like a thing where, like, celebrities die at 27 or something. I promise you, it's like a thing.
Dre Nicole
No, I didn't know that, but I didn't know, but let's backtrack. I didn't know whales can get pneumonia. I didn't know animals can get some of the same stuff we get.
Lex P
Yes. It's a 27 curse. It's the 27 club is a pop culture urban legend, noting the unusually high number of famous musicians and artists who died tragically at 27. Free Willie was 27, bro. Cause he was on the song with Michael.
Dre Nicole
He was.
Lex P
He whistled. I promise I'm not making that up.
Dre Nicole
I know what's. I know. I don't. I believe you. This is one of the rare times where I know you telling the truth.
Lex P
Oh, my God. Free Willy. Rest in peace of that dog. Damn.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, that's sad. But I knew that already. I told you he died.
Lex P
Yeah, you should have told that to me off camera.
Dre Nicole
But I didn't know he died from pneumonia. How do pneumonia travel through the water? I don't know.
Lex P
It'd be cold down there. Yeah, it'd be cold.
Dre Nicole
You do. And I don't think he was scared of the ocean. A little bit low key.
Lex P
I don't think he was in the ocean, though. I think he was at SeaWorld. No. Okay, let's move on. Let's move on. You're right.
Dre Nicole
Let's move on. We don't stay on this topic way too long.
Lex P
That's sh. To pick that damn topic.
Dre Nicole
Now if you. Time to get into the bed, bow. The bed.
Lex P
Bow. Bow.
Grainger Advertiser
Bow.
Dre Nicole
Bow.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
Okay. Would you be mad if your partner took sex advice from their ex?
Lex P
Absolutely. Absolutely. Why is she giving you advice? Only person that you need to be asking for advice for is me. I'm the one you're having sex with. But I also think if you're having conversations with your ex anyway, it's weird. Unless y' all have a child together, there should be no interactions with your ex. I don't know. I just think it gets a little weird now sometimes. I feel like in my younger years, I was always like, oh, I'm cool with my exes. But now as I'm older, I see how, like, unnecessary it is. I have enough friends. I don't need to be talking to them people. So. Yeah. Why are you asking your ex anything about sex? And then conversations turn left really quick because then she gonna be like. Cause remember that time you did this to me? The conversation is not gonna stay in advice world. It's not.
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
Why did you do that? Because you.
Dre Nicole
Right. I'm thinking about it when I've had conversation. Like, when I've had conversations with exes.
Lex P
Yeah. It doesn't stay like that. Do you remember.
Dre Nicole
Do you remember when you did that? Yeah, when I did that move. Yeah. It gets a little weird. Like, so when you in a relationship, you can't.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Cuz why are you talking to your ex? Like, I feel like you can't avoid flirting with an ex. You can't, cuz y' all already have that, like, familiarity.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
With each other.
Lex P
I think it's very rare that you have an ex. Like, I have exes that I'm platonic with. Like, ew. But I keep it very short, and we both have a respect for that. Like, it. Like, if we see each other, it's, hey, how you doing? Or it's like, man, I'm so proud of you, Lex. I see you doing your thing. But that's how we keep it. Because just out of respect for, you know, his partner, my partner, or whatever the situation may be. Because, again, those conversations are only gonna stay friendly and platonic for so long. Cause y' all are gonna imagine how me and you have conversations, right? And we start talking about old shit that me and you used to do back in the day. So if me and my ex are talking, we're gonna be talking about when we used to date, when we used to get drunk, when we used to do this. No. It's gonna turn flirty 99% of the time.
Dre Nicole
I agree. I think it's inappropriate.
Lex P
Extremely. But again, I used to be one of those people that be like, oh, you can be friends with your ex. If somebody doesn't want you to be friends with their ex, they're controlling. As I've gotten older, it's a no for me.
Dre Nicole
I used to feel that way, too. And then now, being older, introspective. I used to say that I had platonic friendships with my exes, but, like, no. Cause you still like me.
Lex P
Yeah. And I think sometimes we're blind to that because we're like, no, that don't. But.
Dre Nicole
Or you don't got the feelings.
Lex P
You don't have the feelings. So you think that they don't. But then sometimes they'll say something in conversation. You be like, hold up. What you mean by that? Or they'll be like, they'll try to sneak. Man, you was looking good at the show last night. Hey, they definitely don't look at you like they said.
Kal Penn
They're wrong.
Dre Nicole
No, kid.
Lex P
I mean, they don't be wrong, but they be wrong. You know, I got a nigga.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Lex P
You know, I got a. Be respectful of my man.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
Be understanding about that.
Lex P
I don't.
Dre Nicole
I just think it's easy to just.
Lex P
It's easier to just not to not talk to them.
Dre Nicole
Have the relationship at all.
Lex P
Yeah. Because I also feel like sex advice. What do you need advice for? Are you not satisfied in the bed? That's a conversation you need to be having with me. Anything pertaining sex between two people, it needs to be talked about between those two people. If you're not performing right, if you're not liking it, if you don't want to do it as much, whatever it is. I don't know. I just feel like conversations about sex should stay between the. Stay in the bedroom between those two people. For sure.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, I agree. Like, let me know.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
How you feel if anything. Like we could watch a porn or something together.
Lex P
See how you take too far every time watching a porn. What is that gonna do? Brian Pumper can't teach my nothing.
Dre Nicole
What you want point.
Lex P
No. And then por be so unrealistic. A lot of times it's. They be doing too much.
Dre Nicole
It depends though. Like do you be watching POV homemade videos or do you POV the fact
Lex P
that you know the search. You need to go to jail. Mystical. That's enough.
Dre Nicole
Watch yourself. I know, but no, I mean, bitch, first of all, I'm not doing this with you right now.
Lex P
I'm gonna let you.
Dre Nicole
Cause I know for a fact you watch porn. So how do you know for a fact? We was in the same household at one point. We was in the same house at one point when you was living with me. And I definitely have came home and you was watching porn. I heard it when I walked through the door.
Lex P
I put the volume on low. I don't like that surround sound.
Dre Nicole
I was like, is that her or is that the video in my bed?
Lex P
It was a comfy bed. I met you. You told me make myself at home.
Dre Nicole
You definitely watch porn else. I'm not always play with you. But yeah. It's like I just feel like it's in. In a relationship. It's ways that you can let your partner know that you're not satisfied. And it's things that y' all could do do.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
To make sure that y' all get back on the same accord. Talking to your ex though.
Lex P
That's not. That ain't it.
Dre Nicole
I agree. I don't like this.
Lex P
Let me know what y' all think. Because I know a lot of times people are a little more open minded than we are. I feel like we kind of strict
Dre Nicole
when it Comes to relationships, we're very like. I think we're very open minded.
Lex P
Honestly, as soon as you open that mind, get to run in the muck. Like, you can't be be too open minded with these, Nick.
Kal Penn
But that's true.
Listener/Caller
That's true.
Lex P
Like, yeah, they be doing too much.
Listener/Caller
They do.
Lex P
Okay, let me see if my spot. Okay, so now it's time to get into the bow.
Dre Nicole
Hey, the bow.
Lex P
Oh, bow, bow, bow, bow, bow. So, y', all, I think I talked about this on the episode a long time ago. Y' all know one of my favorite people of all times is Larue. I've talked about Larue a lot of times on the show. Y' all remember her song that she had back in the day called Bulletproof, right? Anyways, I've been a fan of her this entire time. She's dropped projects every now and then, but she has a new album dropping in November. It's called Old Flames. And she dropped a song called Cabin Fever. Her music is like a 80s vibe, but like, with a hip hop R B vibe. But it's kind of like techno music. It's so much rapid into one and it's so good. And I just like people who stick to the formula, bro. Like, I love Laru. I think she's extremely talented. I'm so ready for this new project. So my bop of the week is Cabin Fever by Laru. So if you like that type of music, if you like the Bulletproof, you'll like this song. Which, please, what is it? I know what it is.
Dre Nicole
Wait, who the going? Who the fuck hoen? That is a good song, but that wasn't what I was gonna put. I was gonna save that for the next episode.
Lex P
Okay, okay, okay, okay.
Kal Penn
But
Dre Nicole
Lil Zane, I'm taking it back.
Lex P
Yeah, I'm taking. You can do a throwback.
Dre Nicole
I'm throwing it back.
Lex P
We haven't done a throwback.
Dre Nicole
Because sometimes, like, new music is cool. But then you hear that track they be bringing you back to back in the day, you be like, damn, this was such a good dog. I'm acting like you dog L8 with calling me.
Listener/Caller
Okay?
Lex P
I mean, you. You rapping it word for word of a celebrity.
Dre Nicole
That's. I said that's how Lex be feeling when she walk into the room. It needs to be your thing, something.
Lex P
Absolutely not.
Dre Nicole
Because you really. The way you be trying to play on these shows.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
But you really the one in real life. They be like, no picture.
Lex P
No. I've never told somebody. I have never told somebody that you didn't.
Dre Nicole
That's how you be feeling, though. You be feeling that in your skin.
Lex P
I feel it because I'd be tired. Like, I'm not gonna lie. We was in the hotel and this man had walked up there. He was super sweet, but I was like, man, just let me finish my sandwich. I just need to finish my. My sandwich. But he was sweet.
Dre Nicole
Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something.
Lex P
What?
Dre Nicole
Lil Z calling me. I just feel like any song that Lil Zayn and 112did together was phenomenal. Anywhere.
Lex P
Yeah, anywhere.
Dre Nicole
All of the songs that they did together was, like, just really, really good. He said, you ready?
Lex P
No, I'm not, actually.
Dre Nicole
This life I live of mine this life is crazy. I waste no time at all. They won't stop calling me.
Lex P
Who? The hoes, the people.
Dre Nicole
He was famous. He said, I lived the life of a celebrity. A made figure. Well, he said, made way bigger than them other cats you love to see.
Lex P
I hate when people say cash. I hate when people say.
Dre Nicole
That was the lingo back then.
Lex P
It gives. Like job, turkey. I hate cats. These cats is tripping.
Dre Nicole
And respectfully, though, back then, Lil Zane was like, they won't stop calling him.
Lex P
I'm not gonna lie. I would never take away from what somebody did. But I was never, like, in the Lil Zayn fan club back in the day.
Dre Nicole
I thought Lil Zane was so fine. He was fine as fuck back then.
Lex P
Do you want to have him on the show?
Dre Nicole
Yeah.
Lex P
Okay. He's on loving hip hop. Oh, yeah. He is on love and hip hop.
Listener/Caller
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
I thought. I used to think Lil Zane was really, really fine when I was, like, growing up and he was on Dr. Dolittle.
Lex P
I do remember that.
Dre Nicole
He was raving to my own boyfriend. So, yeah, it was a good song.
Lex P
It was. It's okay.
Dre Nicole
And then Slim ate that. That Corey sub.
Lex P
Oh, Slim can. Yeah. Slim used to always eat his verses up.
Listener/Caller
For sure.
Lex P
For sure.
Dre Nicole
So that's. That's my bop for the week. Shout out to Lil Zane. That was a good song. I've been really blasting it when I be in the gym.
Lex P
Y' all was listening to it in the car the other day.
Dre Nicole
That's me and Shay song. We love this song.
Lex P
Please give it a break.
Dre Nicole
I'm trying to give you soundtrack music for your life. Because, like, that's not it. That's how you.
Lex P
No, it's not. Stop saying that. It is. No, it's not.
Dre Nicole
You be like, bro dog. You be like, dawg.

Kal Penn
hey everyone, it's Cal Penn, host of Irsay, The Audible and iHeart Audiobook Club. This week on the podcast I'm sitting down with Lily Chu, the author of the Audible orig original romantic comedy Just Kiss Already. It's a story about a forensic anthropologist who secretly writes mystery novels, an actress who adapts his book into a film, and what happens when a meme and a media tour collide with a slow burn romance. It's performed by Simu Liu and Philippa sue, and it is an absolute blast.
T-Mobile Advertiser
When you actually hear the performance, you realize that other people are taking your words and what you thought was kind of a straightforward sentence. Like the cat in the corner is black. In my head it's the cat in the corner is black. Not the dog, not the gerbil. But someone else might say it, the cat in the corner is black. That's always fascinating to me how they just bring in all these different nuances and really make it fun and interesting and distinctive.
Kal Penn
Listen to Irsay the Audible and iHeart audiobook club on the iHeartradio app or wherever you get your podcasts.
Lex P
J, you are making this up.
Dre Nicole
Okay, let's you'll be like dog.

T-Mobile Advertiser

Lex P
Why are you making me sound like Kelly?
Dre Nicole
All of these. Let me tell you something, geek.
Lex P
Oh, shout out to Kelly.
Dre Nicole
You be like, dog. All of these fucking meetings, bro.
Lex P
Like, now that ain't a lie.
Dre Nicole
You be like, this is. This is a lot, bro. Like, I'm just tired.
Lex P
Can I not say I'm burnt out, I'm venting.
Dre Nicole
And then you be like, bro, they wanted to take pictures and. I had to take so many pictures today. Like I was at cvs.
Lex P
I don't even go to cvs.
Dre Nicole
I was at Publix.
Lex P
I might have said public and they
Dre Nicole
wanted a picture with me and I just was like trying to go get my sardines in my beans.
Lex P
Now that I know you Telling the truth.
Dre Nicole
You love sardines and beans.
Lex P
Not together, though.
Dre Nicole
Not together. But, yeah, I mean, it.

Yeah, yeah.
Dre Nicole
But this life I live in mine. This life is crazy. Can't waste no time at all. They won't stop calling me.

Listener/Caller
I do have a question. I'm 16. I know, I know.
T-Mobile Advertiser
Yes.
Listener/Caller
I'd be watching y'.
Lex P
All.
Listener/Caller
But I do have a question. So I'll just talk to this boy. Okay. We went on a date, but, like, you know, like, now generation, they don't believe in taking on a date. So when I had seen this boy, like, okay, I was talking to my friend about this other boy. I cannot stand him. He was, like, trying to, like, say, oh, he does simple stuff, but I don't really think that makes him a simp. And then, oh, okay. So me and the boys end up stop talking because he said he wanted communication. But when I give him communication, then it, like, kind of seemed like I'm begging and stuff. Even though I'm not begging, but I still like this boy. Like, I really like him. Like, I check this nigga page and everything, and I know he be checking my page because I see it. But, like, I don't want to text him. So, like, what should I do?
Lex P
You need to go on YouTube, kids. You need to be studying for your driver's test. No, we not doing this. We are. No, ma'. Am. She need a spanking. Where is your mother?
Dre Nicole
When we was kids, though, we used to be wanting advice from older people. But I do agree, I don't really have no advice for that. I feel like that's the kids realm. Like, girl, you know, if you like the boy, keep talking to him. See where it go.
Lex P
And then, you know what? Let me tell you something. That little boy don't be getting all wrapped up in that. You need to be worried about your books, worried about your driver's Test worried about where you going to college at? Cause right now is the time you should be applying for colleges and things like that. I think that I wish somebody. You know what my mom always told me when I started getting a little boy crazy in high school, she was just telling me, like, don't make that the center of your world. It's not the end of the world. Because when you graduate, you ain't even going to see these motherfuckers no more. You are not going to care, girl. And I. My senior year, I was going crazy. I wasn't listening. I wasn't taking my mother's advice. So I wish I would have listened to my mother and just put boys on the back burner. The best thing you going to do for yourself is put that boy on the back burner and focus on your studies and school, baby.
Dre Nicole
I agree, cuz. You're not even going to know him in like 20 years. Like, boys that I dated in high school, one of them is dead. And then. Oh, my God, it's so sad too, when I think about it. That was really my first love. Rip, Rip to Jeremy.
Kal Penn
Jesus.
Dre Nicole
But he died when I was in college. My other ex boyfriend, he has a kid now. I don't know if he's married, but I think he's still with his baby mama. He have a kid? I don't. My other ex boyfriend, I don't know. I really don't know what he doing.
Lex P
Damn. So it don't matter.
Kal Penn
Yes.
Dre Nicole
It's like, you're not going to know these people. And like, the person that you are now, you. In 10 years, you ain't even gonna be interested in them same dudes no more. You're gonna be like, why was I even.
Lex P
And let this be the last. Damn. I hope you don't even hear this. But if you are watching let this be the last damn episode of Poor Minds that you watch. This is not for children, and you are a child. Okay, don't watch this no more. I'm gonna find your page and I'm gonna block you.
Dre Nicole
Actually, wait till. Wait two more years.
Kal Penn
Yeah.
Lex P
This ain't for you, honey. We grown. We grown.
Dre Nicole
You want to do the other one?
Listener/Caller
Hydra. Hi. I'm a 17 year old listener to the podcast. I've been listening for, like two years. I love watching y'.

And y' all wanted to just start hustling and building to where you are now, what would be your first steps? Knowing everything that you know now. Thank you.
Dre Nicole
You a joke. Because this gonna look at me talking
Lex P
about, I had money, I grew up very spoiled. Hold on, you ain't talking to me, huh? I'm just playing.
Dre Nicole
I mean, respectfully, I went to private school my whole life.
Lex P
We ain't come from, like, like, generational wealth.
Dre Nicole
I think that's what we're saying. Yeah, we didn't come from generation wealth,
Lex P
but another one, she says she's 17 and she's been watching this for two years. Where do y'.
Grainger Advertiser
All.
Lex P
Y' all supposed to be on YouTube, kids.
Dre Nicole
I mean, when I was 17, I was watching shit that I wasn't posting.
Lex P
But she said she's been watching it for two years, so that means she started watching this at 15.
Dre Nicole
When I was 15, Lex. No, you was in that tub. So you need.
Lex P
We're finna wrap this up. This ain't about me.
Dre Nicole
But I'm just saying, like, like, kids go, people are going to be people. Like, even if we tell them don't watch the show, whatever, they're still gonna watch the show. So I think the best thing we could do is try to give them decent advice.
Lex P
Okay.
Dre Nicole
I feel like if you're 17 and you want to be successful, you need to focus on your studies. I don't know what it is that you want to do, but you need to figure out if, like, school is going to be the route for you or if you want to lock in on, like, a trade. But you need to have a plan for when you graduate of what you want to do for your life and really lock in on it and focus on it and go in that path. Because one thing that I always say, I'm grateful because things ended up working out for me and Lex, obviously, but I wish that I was more locked in when I was younger. And I wish that I knew what I wanted to do earlier because I feel like I could have been working on it.
Lex P
Yeah.
Dre Nicole
But I really didn't know. Like, I was just really out here winging it, trying to figure out what it was that I wanted to do or what my passion was. So I would say focus on trying to find your passion and figure out what it is that you want to do and making the necessary steps to get yourself to that point. Whatever it is because I was really winging shit for a long time.
Lex P
And I think another thing to add on that is like, don't be afraid to try new things. Like, I took a psychology class because I was like, do I want to go into this field? And I realized, you know what? I really don't like that as much as I thought I did. So don't be afraid to take classes that you necessarily. Maybe you might be interested in, maybe not, and try new stuff and don't get stuck on something like, I'm just going to use this. For example, Drea took a last class because she thought she wanted to do lashes, but at least you tried it. So now you know. I don't want to do lashes.
Dre Nicole
I've tried a lot of things.
Lex P
That's what I'm saying. Keep trying stuff and something is going to stick. I think a lot of times we have a plan and we try to stick to that plan, which there's nothing wrong with that. But you're so young. Try everything that you can and then something is going to stick out to you and you're going to find yourself being passionate about that.
Dre Nicole
Yeah, you're not stuck in anything like, similar to Lex. My major in college actually at first was psychology and I thought that I had to stick with that especially too, because when I went to college, I already had like, I think 18 or 20 college credits and some of my credits was in psychology because I thought that's what I wanted to do. And then after my first year of college, I was like, yeah, I don't want to do this. And I changed my major and it made me graduate a semester later. But at least I changed it to something that I really wanted to do. And then look at me now, I'm actually working in the field. Not the tr. Not the traditional way or the way that I probably thought I would have been.
Lex P
Right.
Dre Nicole
But it all worked out. So follow your dreams and follow your passions.
