No, I didn't used to go to my, I didn't fool with my neighbors. My parents actually like didn't want me to be cool with anybody in my neighborhood when I was growing up.

Until we moved. So yeah, but I was like in 8th grade though, so yeah, the movies couldn't.

It's my 36th year of life and.

[Lex P]

You know what? This year I'm serious. All joysti. No, I'm serious. What I'm about to say, I'm not serious, but what I've learned is just to be still. And I say that because it's like whatever I'm going through, when I go through things, I tend to like get anxiety and overreact and freak out whether it's any kind of situation. But what I've learned is just to be patient and be still. Like, God gonna work it out. He gonna work it out. Every single time I look at my life and I am seriously so blessed. I feel like all my friendships are flourishing. You know, my personal life, it's not perfect. But I will say I have my shit together. You know, you look at people and they'd be like, you know, they have their shit together but they really don't be having their shit together. For the first time in my life, I feel like I have my shit together. You know, health insurance, car insured, house insured, everything up to date. Like I have my. I'm the girl that has her shit together. And it took me a long time to get here. Everything used to be all out of whack and it's not anymore. And I feel like I'm so grateful for that. You know, like, I went grocery shopping the other day and groceries are so expensive. It was a time in my life where I specifically remember I had to choose between like, damn, do I want to eat dinner or do I want to put gas in my car? And then I was like, you know what, let me just go get me some ramen noodles because it's only going to be like a dollar and I can get something to last me for the week and then I could put the rest in my gas tank. So to go from that to being like okay, girl, let me just get $300 worth of groceries, fill my house up, and I ain't got to worry about it no more. Like, going grocery shopping is a thing that I'm always so grateful for. So I'm just in a season of, like, gratitude, man. Like, life is so good. I feel like the show is going so well. Like, everything is just good. Like, I'm in my home, and it's like, I've been in my house for, like, a month now, and I'm having a.

It's been a month by the time this area.

Right. My bad. No, but I'm saying. Yeah. I mean, I've been in there.

I'm like, damn.

Yeah. I love owning my home. I'm having a ball decorating, like, renovating stuff, putting stuff together, painting. I am literally just having a ball. Like, I cannot wait to get home and, like, to finish the stuff that I'm doing. Like, ordering stuff and seeing it coming. Cause I'm like, ooh, does this look good? Does it not? Then it comes in, and I'm like, oh, my God, it looks perfect. So I'm just in a season of gratitude, knowing my worth, valuing myself, loving myself, and. Yeah, just, you know, being that person that people can depend on now. Because I feel like I always want to be that person that I wish I had for other people. You know what I'm saying? Like, when I was in certain stages in my life. So I'm just in a really good season. That's good. Yeah. Life is.

That's what it is. That's what it is. So, yeah, so I'm in my last year of my mid-30s then. And I'm Just. I don't know. Life is good. I feel like I'm in the right space. My birthdays. I used to be sad. I used to be like, oh, my God, what is. Life used to be sad?

Because I felt like I used to feel like I was behind. I wasn't doing enough. And now I'm learning, like, everything is. Happens on your clock. Everybody's clock is different. Just because somebody reaches a goal at 25, that other person might reach a goal at 65. Everybody's clock is different. And what I'm learning is to appreciate my clock. I'm on time with where my life is supposed to be. And I am so happy. Yeah. Like, I'm really happy with my life right now. And, you know, it just feels good. It feels good to be stress free.

To not worry about certain things that used to just shake me to the core. And I couldn't sleep, you know, like money or my job or, you know, friendships. I feel like I've become a better friend. Therapy's doing wonders on me. Child therapy in church. That God and therapy. Combo undefeated kiss. You can't lose with combo. I'm telling you. I feel like I've been such. Like, that's the main thing in my therapy sessions I've been talking about is just being a better friend. And I think I've done a really good job of being a better friend. And I feel it in my friendships. Like, I feel like I'm showing up more for my friends and I'm being present, and it's making all of my friendships, like, flourish. And I'm just in a happier space, you know, so I've realized I had to look in the mirror when things were going wrong in my life. I think accountability is an important thing. And I think that, you know, for a lot of people, it's something that comes with age and maturity.

A lot of younger people don't really have accountability. Like, people love to, like you said, look at other people and be like, oh, my life is going this way, or I'll be having these issues all the time because of these people. And sometimes it is the people around you, but more often than not, it's you.

It's majority of the time you and the decisions that you're making and the things that you're doing or how you handling and maneuvering situations is the reason why you possibly keep ending up in the same situation. So I think that that's, like, a big thing to be able to acknowledge that and, like, acknowledge how you've grown from that space.

I used to push people away who would hold that mirror up to me and be like, lex, this is what you're doing to me, and I don't like it. And you tend to do this often.

And I'll be like, oh, God, girl.

[Lex P]

And you know what I'm saying? But now I'm like, you know what? You're not saying this because you're being petty, or you're saying this because I'm doing something that's not right, that's bothering them. Exactly. So I used to push people away like that, but now I embrace it. Tell me what I'm doing wrong. Show. Tell me how I'm supposed to show up as your friend, your partner, your sister. How do I need to love you? Because I love you, and I want to love you properly. So like I said, I'm in the season of listening, understanding, being a good, seasoned woman. You know, everything's going well. I said, you know, I post this on, you know, I love Facebook. That's how, you know, I'm an auntie now. I said, you know what? I have the house. I have the career, my family on the way.

Okay, so for topic number one, I wanted to talk about why we have been taught that a lady never tells her age. I feel like for centuries, women have been told, you don't tell people your age. That's something that you keep private. That's right. That you keep to yourself. It is a secret. Because, you know, traditionally, age is tied to desirability. Yeah. Age is tired to. I mean, it's tied to desirability. So a lot of women feel like, you know, as they get older, they're not as desirable, especially if you're single. You know what I mean? I think. I mean, I think in general, but I think it's harder on the women who get older and they're still single versus the women who get older and already in relationships. And, you know, desirability is tied to how young you are a lot of the time. So I think, you know, at least that's the way I look at it. That's probably why a lot of women don't like telling people how old they are.

[Shay]

But I feel like when women get.

[Drea Nicole]

Older, they be getting seasoned. They be getting seasoned.

[Lex P]

I also feel like the reason that way of thinking is outdated because that was tied to fertility as well. They used to define you as being a good woman if you could bear children.

[Drea Nicole]

I think men still define women in that way.

[Lex P]

Right. And so what is. What's so crazy is, like, there's so many factors and things that goes on in a woman's body. Like, we are more than just our ovaries and what we can create. We're human beings. So I think as time has progressed and went on, I think women have become. In 2025, I feel like women are more comfortable telling their age. One thing about me, I've always been comfortable telling my age. And it's so crazy, because when I see women my age are a little. Even women younger than me lying about their age, I think it's so crazy. I feel like the Older I get, the better I get. And me being single or in a relationship doesn't define who I am. And if a man doesn't want to be with me because of my age, that's fine. That's just not the man for me. You know what I'm saying? So I just feel like I'm going to be desired by the person because I just need one. I don't need to be desired by a whole bunch of people. I don't care to be desired by a whole bunch of people. I just need one man to desire me, and I'm cool with that. So I just think it's crazy that women feel the need to hide their age. I've always embraced getting older, and I think that's just because the women in my life, though, like, I see how they age and how their lives are and how their lives are going. I'm like, you know what? Hell, yeah, that looks good. You make 40 look good. You make 50 look good. You make 60 look good. And it's like, it's a blessing to get older.

[Drea Nicole]

It is.

[Lex P]

You know what I'm saying? So I just think that. That thinking of lying about your age or feeling like you're too old, and I use this as an example because I do love her. Tabitha. Tabitha Brown. Yes. She came on the scene later in her later years in life and has an amazing career now.

Mmm.

You know what I'm saying? And it's just, like. It just shows you life don't stop.

I mean, so did Oprah.

Exactly.

[Drea Nicole]

Oprah didn't really, like. I think the Oprah show came out when Oprah was already in her 30s.

Yeah. Like, late 30s, I think.

[Drea Nicole]

Yeah. So, I mean, I agree. I definitely feel like. And it's so many women who are in their 40s and their 50s who say, like, life only gets better and better as you age.

[Lex P]

Yes.

[Drea Nicole]

Because you become more mature and you just start to, like, not give a. Like, for me, that's one of the beautiful things about Adrian, in my opinion. It's like, the older that you get, literally each year that pass by, the less of a. I give what people be thinking and what people have to say, and the more confident I am in who I am as a person and what I have to offer the world. Like, I feel like I have a voice, and it needs to be heard, and I don't feel shy about speaking certain opinions or saying certain things or worrying about if it's gonna rub people the wrong way. Like, I just don't give a fuck like, this is me. Take it or leave it. You could leave it. That's fine, too. But this is who I am, and I just think it's like, that's something beautiful that comes along with age as you get older, that I think every woman who has made it to their 30s, 40s, 50s, can attest to. Like, I think in. In your 20s, it's a lot of. In your teen years and your 20s, it's a lot of uncertainty. And I think in your 30s, it's still a little bit of uncertainty, because a lot of women say, like, you think that you have it figured out, or you think that it gets better when you hit 30, but then when you hit 40, you really have a lot of clarity.

[Lex P]

Yeah.

[Drea Nicole]

So I definitely think in your 30s, it's still a little bit of uncertainty, too, but it's like, things just start.

[Lex P]

To become a little more clearer, and I'm glad that you said that. That confidence. The confidence I have now is nowhere near how I was at 25. Like, the woman I am now. Like, If I was 25 and I could see, like, I had something to show me turning 36, I'll be like, oh, my God. Who is that? Yes, bitch. And it's just, like, the confidence that I have now, like, I know who I am. I know what I bring to my friendships, to my family. Like, I just. I really love myself. I really, really do. And it took me a long time to get here. You know what I'm saying? So I just think with eight, life gets better. How you feel, Ty?

I love getting older.

[Lex P]

Yeah.

[Drea Nicole]

I just feel like the way I adapt, the more confident I become in myself, where I'm at, not stressing about time and where I'm at in my career or anything like that. Like, it's all unfolding. Like you said before, we talk about alignment a lot. Like, I feel like those things are just now beginning a lot for me, so I love it. I embrace. I love the gray hairs.

Yeah.

[Lex P]

I'll be having a little.

[Drea Nicole]

Yeah, I got a lot. Y' all do. But I want, like, a streak.

Yeah. Or a full hair. I love to see a silver fox.

I always wonder when I start getting gray hair if I'm gonna, like, dye it. I haven't had. I haven't got one yet.

At least when you dye your hair. I feel like when you dye your hair, though, it makes it look. It makes you look older than the actual gray hair, because you can tell you're trying to cover it up. Like when guys. Cause men do that especially. You know what's crazy though? I think quiet as it's kept. Men have just as much problems with aging as women do. They make it seem like women struggle with aging. Men very much do. When I had made a Lovelex P clip and I was talking about how I wished this guy, I wish his hairline would recede because you know how men feel about their hair. Cause he did something so dirty, the person I was talking about, I was like, I want his hairline to recede. And it was a guy that came in the comments and he was like, I can just tell by the type of person you are to make fun of somebody who can't help it. And going in, I went to his page and he was bald.

Yeah, I struck a nerve. But the thing is, I'm not talking about you. But the thing is men with balding, that means you're older. That's technically, you know, but now we know. It's genetics. You can't help it. It has nothing to do with your age. It's all about genetics. But baby, when you talk about men and they hairlines, baby, they will. It gets real nasty in the field with men and they hairlines, babe.

[Drea Nicole]

But the crazy thing about men where I think, you know, it's like this double standard. It's like when men get older, people tend to feel like they get more distinguished. Whereas women, it's like, oh, you old bitch.

[Lex P]

I've been called an old bitch a few times. I said something about you old bitch. I said something about one of them streamers. They're like, who is this old bitch? Oh, because I said DDG's name wrong. Remember when Queen Najah came on here and I said DGG or something? I said, I know who the boy, I know who he is. They was like this old bitch. I said, hey, respect your elders. See, that's what the young kids don't do. They don't respect they elders no more. I'm an elder, respect me.

Yeah. It's like they don't consider us elders when it comes to respect because my ass fat.

Yeah. Cause I feel like in my family, like, they was fine. Like, I had aunties and cousins who was fine, who I used to look up to, and I used to be like, oh, I can't wait till I get grown. I hope I look like her.

So I guess now when people be like, oh, my God, like we were out the other night when I said my age, the people that we were with were like, oh, my God. And I'm like, yeah, everybody say that all the time.

We tell them how old we are. Which I get it.

I look 35. I get it. I mean, 36.

I feel like, because this generation of 30 something year olds, this is what 30. This is what people in their 30s look like. I think people have this perception, though, that when you hit 30, you don't look youthful anymore because of what we saw growing up. But you got to think about it, back in the 70s and stuff, they was looking old. They was. They was 35 and 36 and 34 and 31, 28, 29, and they was looking old. That's why we 50, the way they used to dress, the way they used to wear their hair, everything. So I think that because of that, because that's what we've seen in generations prior to us, people have this perception that, oh, when you hit 30. When you hit 34, you. You hit 36, you're gonna look a certain way. But no, we millennials, we a whole different generation. I feel like we still dress, like, youthfully. We still do our makeup very youthful. We wear our hair. I don't know. I just. I can't explain it, but I feel like that those older generations, they used to look old for their age. I could really say that, like, even. And this is no shade, because I feel like my dad and my mom were beautiful and very attractive when they were in their 30s, but when I look back at pictures of them when they was in their 30s, they look like they was in their 50s, the way they used to dress. Even when you look at movies, like, when you think about the Ray Charles movie, the Muhammad Ali movie, you the.

They looked old as hell, but they was only, like, 25.

Yeah, 26.

But look at how they looked in the movie.

You would have thought they was in they 40s, because back in the day, that's just how they used to dress, and that's how they used to.

But I think it's also because we take care of ourselves, too.

Yeah, and that's what I was gonna say, too. So, like, how do you feel about people who. How do you feel like, how do you feel about people who bash women who, like, do preventative things for, like, anti aging? Like when people are like, oh, you say you okay with getting older, or you say you love getting older, but you get in Botox and you get fillers, or you go get facials and you doing. Using salmon DNA and all of this stuff to, like, reverse the anti aging process. How do you feel about that? Because Some people feel like you're just supposed to. If you truly love getting older and that's something that you okay with, you should just let like nature run its course and let yourself just naturally get older and age gracefully.

[Lex P]

I am aging gracefully, but I'm aging how I want to age. You age how you want to age. I personally. Am I gonna have wrinkles one day? Absolutely. Maybe not, but I'm gonna hold off on it. Am I gonna get a little softer on the side and my booty gonna set? Yes, absolutely. That's a part of aging. Not if you work out, but what I'm saying, that's a part of aging. Things tend to go south. I'm not mad at it, but I'm gonna hold off on it. Cause when I talk about aging, and I love it, I'm talking about my wisdom, I'm talking about the inside. But physically I don't think there's nothing wrong with preventative care. Now I'm not gonna be going to like the drastic measures of like if I'm 65, I'm not gonna be here trying to look 25. I just wanna be a polished 65 year old right now. Everything I do, I want to be a polished 36 year old. I'm not a 36 year old woman trying to look 21.

How do you feel about a lot of these older women that are like in their 60s and 70s that are doing these drastic facelifts?

[Lex P]

I think that's okay.

Like we had a few island hits that we like, but Rihanna made like that Caribbean style music. Very, very mainstream. So I think that Tyla is a great artist, but she's not doing anything like groundbreaking. I'll say. But she makes amazing music.

She come out with films, we're gonna go watch them. Because she's on that level of stardom now. But at one point, she did used to do interviews. She did used to go and talk to people. She did used to do, like, shows like TRL106 in park. She used to do all of this stuff back in the day.

Well, I say that, I guess, because you can talk to us, but talk to us about your music and what you got going on. I don't need your opinion on if you think couples should split rent or.

Not, but I think it's hard for people to find that balance, like artists or whatever, to find that balance. Because everything is so social media based these days. And a lot of the time when you go on people's shows, they're going to ask you those questions. Whereas back in the day, I feel like it was more focused on the music and the talent, you know, who.

Yeah, I agree. I think that you should. I think a lot of times, women, especially black women, we feel like we gotta hold people down and stay down and do all this stuff. And I'm not saying don't do that, but I'm saying it's okay to put yourself first and be selfish sometimes. What makes you happy, if being with you truly makes you happy, and that's what you want to see and you want to stick it out, do that. But if you're truly unhappy and you feel like y' all are not aligning, it's okay to let people go and let them go on their own journey. If y' all are meant to be together, y' all will come back. Let him go on his journey and you go on yours. Everything happens for a reason. Don't force Anything. You know what I'm saying? Good luck, queen.

Hey, bookies. First off, love y' all down. Found y' all last year, and it really changed my life. So quick, little backstory. I got a homegirl of five plus years. We got close around 2018 because we were both talking to these dudes who were friends. Mine ended up being my baby daddy. Yes. We still together. Lately, me and her don't talk like we used to, because every time I vent, she always says stuff like, tay, move on from him. You could do better. Or take a trip with me, Girl, I got a son, a house, a car, and I'm in school. Relax. Then about work. She does nails, which I fully support. But when I told her I'm going to school to be a nurse, she said, I'm distancing myself because I want to work for white people instead of being an entrepreneur. Am I wrong for falling back? Because it feels like I can't talk to her without her judging my life.

You are not wrong for falling back. Not everybody wants to be an entrepreneur. And if we ain't got no nurses, who gonna do the cpr? Who gonna do the CPR and the blood work? I just feel like when people. This is okay. I have a perfect example. When you are doing something great in your life that you love and that you're happy about, watch how the people closest to you react.

Because a person who truly loves you and is happy for you, they're gonna be like, I am so proud of you. Cause this is something that you wanted versus being like, well, is this. Are you? No. If you are happy about, you know, going to nursing school, being a nurse, and doing that working in the medical field, it should be met with nothing but praises and love. Because being an entrepreneur is not easy, and it's not for everybody. I don't know why people think being an entrepreneur is like, this magical world where you just wake up and you're a millionaire. Y' all know anybody can get an LLC for $150, right? People be talking about, I'm a CEO of this, and that business is making $3 a year.

Everybody do be having CEO in their BIOS.

Literally, once you sign up for an llc, you're technically a CEO. A CEO of a business that's pulling in no revenue. So I think that people need to stop judging their friends and support them. So, no, you're not wrong for falling back. Because if every time I tell you good news, it's met with negativity, because you talking about She's a nail tech. Nail techs make money if you have a high end clientele that are paying. But if you're just like, and I'm not being shady but like if you're just like, you know, a nail tech.

I do be being shady sometimes.

You not no multimillionaire either. Cause let me tell you something. I know nurses. I know way more nurses that are making more money than nail techs. If I'm being real. So you think that you got bragging rights just because you work for yourself. People love to throw out that independent. Sometimes being independent is not what you think it is.

And I just think you should do what's best for you. Everybody doesn't have ambition to be a business owner. Some people don't mind working for people and there's plenty of people who work for large corporations and work for hospitals. People that are nurse practitioners, RNs and they make a lot of money especially as they continue to climb the ladder and continue continue their education like the options are limitless with that too because eventually even if she did want to step out and become an entrepreneur, you can start your own travel nurse company, you can start your own home healthcare. Like it's so many different things that you could do as a nurse if you did want to tap into the entrepreneurial role. So you know, people got to stop being closed minded. But either way that'll come with time if that's something that you want to do period.
