Foreign. Welcome, everyone, to another episode of the Product LED podcast. This episode is going to be a wee bit different because my guest is my boss. Well, not more of a teammate. He's not bossy. Anyway. Also one of the most awesome people that I've gotten to work with. And so, without further ado, let me introduce Wes Bush, co founder and CEO of Product led.
B (0:39)
Sounds so formal, but thank you, Piers.
A (0:42)
You're welcome. I'm imagining myself on a podium. Wes. We're going to launch something new, and it's called the Product LED accelerator. So other than allowing us to to or allowing our students to step on the gas further, lower than the floor, could you tell us a bit more about the thinking behind the update?
B (1:08)
Yeah, absolutely. So this program has never been more focused around, like, the main problems. Like, the main problem we've identified is in the entire market for software and broader other industries as well is that people just don't want to talk to sales anymore. But when it comes to, like, signing up for a free product or anything like that, they actually jump at the chance. And so for us to research way back to this research, where they found that, you know what, actually 75% of any buyer would prefer to just self educate as long as possible and test out on their own. And when it comes to building trust as well, people don't trust salespeople or even copy on a website that much anymore because it's like, hey, anyone can whip this stuff up. It doesn't mean much. But what does mean something is when you actually use the product, you experience the value of the product. That's when you start to have that moment where you're like, oh, man, like this. This is all my problem. I totally trust this product. Sure. I'm more than willing to upgrade to a paid plan. So that's really like, what we're. We're focusing in on for this program is just how do we solve that problem? And that's twofold. It's like, okay, how do we create something that people can really see value out of when it comes to using the product? And then the second part of the problem is just, okay, how do we create and experience where people are more than willing to actually pay for it without talking to anyone? So that's what I'm really excited about for this update.
A (2:34)
Okay, that was a lot. Just imagine it like when you're going to a store, especially here where I am in the country, in the Philippines, we sometimes there's like that one assistant person that keeps following you. See if you need anything and that can get annoying and sometimes in them to analogize with what you just mentioned, we don't want to annoy people, but we want them to see the value of our product, so or their product so they could make up their mind about it, give it a shot. So which brings me to my next question for you. What's something new in the program that everyone can be excited about?
