Hello, I'm Gary Stearman. Welcome to Prophecy Watchers. We have today a very special guest for you. I've known him for quite a while. His name is Nathan Jones. Nathan, good to see you again.
B
Oh, it's an honor to be back on your program, sir.
A
And you come bringing something that we're going to be talking about. It's called the coming Millennial Kingdom. It's a great book. Nathan Jones, you've got the knack. You are a good writer.
B
Well, praise the Lord. I had to lay the foundation of why a millennial kingdom. And I think that's kind of a little bit of academic, but once you get into about what our lives will be like living in that kingdom, I think most Christians don't understand that, that our lives isn't just to stay in heaven forever, but there is a kingdom that Christ will establish on this earth, and he promised that we will rule and reign with him. So we have at least a thousand years of history ahead of us. If you're saved, to learn about what it's going to be like living in that kingdom. And that was so exciting to share with people.
A
And we have a few thousand years behind us that form a precedent for what's going to happen in the kingdom. Absolutely, because the kingdom sort of takes a lot of loose ends and puts them together. And you have, I think, really hit that point.
B
Well, praise the Lord. I think of what most people don't realize is that there is a kingdom that's coming because based on 2 Samuel 7, God made a promise to King David. He said this. He said, I will set up your seed after you, and I will establish the throne of his, the Messiah's kingdom forever. 2nd Samuel 7. We call this the Davidic covenant. It's a promise that one day a descendant of King David, which we know is Jesus Christ, the Messiah, will rule and reign on this earth literally for 1000 years and then on into eternity. And most Christians, they kind of get caught up into different aspects of what we call the kingdom of Christ. We'll all agree that Christ has a spiritual kingdom which is not of this earth. There's also a providential kingdom where God reigns supreme. But we know the third aspect, or the third fold, is that there'll be an ecclesiastical kingdom, a fancy word for the church age, where Jesus Christ will rule and reign through the church. Gary this is where a lot of Christians kind of park and they stop and they forget that there's a Davidic aspect, a fourth fold where Jesus Christ will physically rule and reign on this earth for 1000 years and then on into eternity. And that's what the millennial kingdom is all about.
A
And that's what I was struck by, the fact that there are so many, I guess you could call them loose ends. When you go through the Old Testament on into the New Testament, things happen, but then they don't come to complete conclusions. But then when you get into narratives about the kingdom age, suddenly you discover, well, all of this is going to fold together and be concluded in the Kingdom era. And you really. I think I've done a good job on that.
B
I was kind of struck with this problem. It's called the problem of evil as it relates to failed human government. Listen to one of the saddest verses in the Bible, gary. It's Micah 7:3. The prince asks for gifts, the judge seeks a bribe, and the great man utters his evil desire. And so they scheme together. And so what really kind of burdened my heart is, is humanity going to forever have to endure living under failed, flawed human government? Because government is failed and flawed. Because we're fallen humans, we're sinful humans. And as long as we're sinful, our governments are going to be sinful, and they're always going to fail us. You know, Gary, if you're a Christian, we. We put a lot of faith in that God has ordained government to provide what the government's supposed to provide, and that's security for its people. That's the purpose of human government. But those unbelievers will often elevate government up to godhood. And when government fails them, so does their faith and possibility of there being a divine being. So it creates this great problem which we call the problem of evil, A stumbling block for people to come into faith in God.
A
We're talking with Nathan Jones, and he's written the book the Coming Millennial Kingdom. Now, as I was reading this really struck me. My mind immediately shifted to what do you see when you look at Jerusalem today? It's like a whirlwind or a whirlpool. Everybody wants his piece of Jerusalem. And the Temple Mount is a contested piece of real estate, maybe the most contested piece of real estate on planet Earth. And chapter nine is Jerusalem, the capital city, the seat of his authority. And I'm thinking, okay, I like that. Elaborate on that a little bit. Because when we see Jerusalem today, it's just total mismatch. This man wants to go here, this man wants to go here, and nobody agrees about anything. And yet the Bible says so much about Jerusalem.
B
We live in a time period like no other, because Jesus promised. You know how the Bible ends Revelation 22, not once, but twice, but three times Jesus said this. He says, behold, I am coming quickly, and my reward is with me to give to everyone according to his work. And so we know that Jesus gave us this ironclad promise that he's going to return. He also gave us a time indicator. He says, when the fig tree rebuds. In other words, when Israel becomes a nation again, that will be the genea, which means the time period or era upon his return. We are living since the late 1800s into the 1900s and 1948, Israel rebutted. And so we are in that nation fulfilling Ezekiel 36 and 37, where the Lord says that his return will correspond to the Jewish people returning to the land. Now, a lot of Christians out there are upset with Israel and their dealings with Hamas and Hezbollah, and they don't see that Israel has a purpose. But there are prophecies. Jeremiah 30:11, for instance, says, for I am with you, says the Lord, to save you, though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, yet I will not make a complete end of you. I will correct you injustice and will not let you go altogether unpunished. So this time of punishment for the Jewish rejection of the Messiah is coming to an end. Isaiah 11 says, he's going to regather the Jewish people a second time back into the land. And he says, I will bring them back, and they shall dwell in the midst of where? Jerusalem. Zechariah 8. 8. Why does Israel need to be back in Jerusalem? Because the Lord has promised that he is going to set up his kingdom, his throne, in Jerusalem. And the Jewish people, excuse me, will continue to be a priestly people during that time period.
A
Wow, you put it so well. And you can take a deep breath and sort of relax when you begin to speak in these terms. When you look at today's news, you become tense.
B
Yes.
A
When you look at scripture and you find out where things are really going, the things that God is directing, you could take a deep breath and kind of relax and say, wow, what a relief. But right now we're looking at great tension that's going to be reconciled. And that's the beauty of the millennial kingdom.
B
Again, we're really blessed to be in the United States of America. But I have a friend down in Nicaragua who, because of his Christian beliefs, was kicked out of his own country. You know, there's many countries that enslave I mean, think all the Christians in work camps in North Korea. So we have it pretty good here. But there's a kingdom coming. Daniel 2:44 says, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom which shall never be destroyed, and the kingdom shall not be left to other people. It shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms and these fallen, failed human kingdoms, and it will stand forever. Gary, that gives me great hope, great joy, because Zechariah 14:9 says, the Lord shall be king over all the earth. Now, when you have a good president or a good king or a good leader, the people rejoice. And when you get a bad king or a corrupt leader, the people suffer. But this is the character of the king. So I'm getting to your question because listen to what this king is. This famous Christmas verse, Isaiah 9:6. For unto us a child is born, and unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace. And of the increase of his government and peace, there will be no end.
A
By the way, that has not happened yet.
B
No, because it says here and upon the throne of David, this is where we get the Davidic kingdom or the Davidic throne, and over us to order establishment with what? Judgment and justice from this time forward and forever. So you've got a perfect king, a divine king ruling over the world. Even the best of human kings and leaders can never stand up. So when you have a king like that, this is the mood of the era. Jeremiah 31:13. The virgin shall rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together, for I will turn their mourning to joy and will comfort them and and make them rejoice. That is what the kingdom is going to be. It's going to be a giant celebration of having the perfect king and perfect truth, righteousness and justice ruling over the planet.

A
well, we're back with Nathan Jones and he has written a book that I would highly recommend, the Coming Millennial Kingdom. The subtitle what Life Will Be like for Us When Jesus Reigns on Earth. And I don't think we think about that enough. We sort of leave that to well, you know, what's going to happen is going to happen. But when you study that topic it really gets encouraging.
B
It does most people what they know about the Millennial Kingdom is from Revelation 20 where it says 6 times 8,000 years. Not like a thousand years or as a thousand years, literally thousand Years. And this is where we get the term millennium, milli annum or thousand years. So even though Christ's kingdom is prophesied to last forever, it has a initial stage to it which we call the millennial kingdom. And I'll get to the purpose of why there's a thousand year separation. But for the most part, Jesus Christ has promised to rule on the throne of David physically from Jerusalem. He rebuilds Jerusalem, Gary. He's even going to build a temple. Now this is not the third temple that will be desecrated by the Antichrist. He's going to build what we call the Millennial temple. And it is 20 miles squared. That's bigger than most cities. And there the people will go up to see Jesus. He's going to reinstitute the feast of tabernacles and the nations will stream up and we believe Jerusalem will be lifted high because of all the earthquakes during the tribulation. And the people go up and it'll be just like the first century where Jesus sat on the mountain, on the mountainside in the grass, or sat in a boat and taught the people, we'll get to see that Jesus will have us. It says the law will go forth and it will stream down and bless the nations.
A
Now, what you just did is not done very often. I seldom hear people talk about the Millennial temple and what it's going to look like. And as you were talking, I. I was really getting enthralled. I want to hear more.
B
Oh, sure.
A
I can't even imagine it, but one of these days we're going to be able to go to that place. And I have an idea that is so fantastically wonderful that we can't even imagine it right now.
B
Yeah, that'd be Jesus, the God of the universe, who is the great creator, is building his own temple. You know, the great throne room of God up in heaven is the original. And so the tabernacle was like a tiny scale model of it. The temples were tiny. Well, even the Millennial temple is only a tiny scale model of the ultimate temple of God. But the Bible promises that Zechariah 6:12 says, he shall bear the glory and he shall sit and rule on his throne. So he continues to be prophet, priest and king. Jesus will fulfill all three of those. He will be a priest on his throne, and the council of peace shall be between them both. Isaiah 56, 7. I will bring to my holy mountain, and I will make them joyful in my house of prayer. So it's a place where even though we can Pray to the Lord anywhere and we know he hears it. We'll actually get to see Jesus face to face. And get this. Isaiah 4, 5 says, the Shekinah, glory of God. Remember during the Exodus, when the cloud by day and the pillar of fire by night led the Israelites through the Exodus, it's prophesied in Isaiah 4 to reside over the millennial temple. So we will see the Son, we will see the Holy Spirit, but not yet the Father. That's reserved for the eternal state.
A
Wow. Well, I'll keep listening. I mean, as long as he wants to talk on this subject, I will keep listening. Because we seldom, and I've said this two or three times now, but I really mean it, we seldom delve into this period, or put it another way, the reasons why there will be that millennial temple. And we tend to think, well, you know, when I get there, maybe I'll find out about it then. But really, we can find out a lot about it right now.
B
You're not kidding. Ezekiel, chapters 40, 48. Nine whole chapters of Ezekiel are dedicated just to explaining the temple. And it goes into great detail, dimensions and sizes. It does mention something interesting, animal sacrifices returning, which we believe is to commemorate the sacrifice of the Lord, similar to what we do, communion and to feed all those people that are going to go up to see Jesus. But it's an interesting time period in that I wondered if, as a time period, it doesn't also have to do with peace, because there's serenity in the animal kingdom during that time where all these nature documentaries, Gary, where the lions are attacking the elephants, and you see all this, this blood and death will be gone during that time. You read in Isaiah 11, the wolf shall dwell with the lamb, the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, the calf and the young lion and the fatling together, and the little child shall lead them. And it goes on to explain how prey and predator can dwell in peace. Little children can stick their hands into vipers dens and not get bit. So the millennial kingdom is a partial lifting of the curse. So there's still going to be sin, there'll still be death, but for the most part, there'll be peace. There'll be peace among the animal kingdom and war will disappear. You know, in the last 3,500 years, 92% of human history has been involved in some kind of war, with war being defined as 1,000 people or more dying. So always conflict. But that only means a little over 200 years. Of the last 3500 have been without war. And yet the Bible prophesies in Isaiah 2, 4, they shall beat their swords in the plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, and neither shall they learn war anymore. So can you imagine, for a thousand years, my son is in the coast guard. There won't be need for a coast guard or an army or a navy during that time, because all the nations, the peoples, will be at peace with each other.
A
You know, as you're talking, I'm thinking about something that's happening right now that has us all, I think, in a state of lamentation. And that is we see anti Semitism exploding. We see the Jews being dragged through the public square in effigy. We see things happening that didn't happen for decades. From 1938, World War II ended. Israel became a state. And then we thought, well, everything's all right. Israel is going to come back. There will be peace in the Middle east, and they will begin to build their temple and so forth and so on. But what do we see? We see Israel in a state of incredible, incredible conflict. And yet I look at chapter nine. Well, I'm going to look at chapter 11. The Jews exalted a priestly people. So there's a future for Israel. Yeah, there is a future for the Jew, absolutely. And to think about that today is something that I think is uplifting.
B
The church overall has abandoned the Jewish people. In God's timeline, certainly we have been grafted in as a spiritual Israel, we gentiles. But the Bible has always promised that the Jewish people would be a priestly people. They failed, but the Lord then exiled them, as was prophesied in Deuteronomy 28:30. But the Lord always promised that they'd be a priestly people again. So we're living in a time of regathering, where the Jewish people are being regathered back into the land. About 7 million Jews live in Israel. There's still another 7 million or so outside. The result of the Gog Magog war, which I believe, timing wise, is placed just after the rapture, but before, at the onset of the tribulation will bring all the Jews back. We will then see the world go through a tribulation era where a third of the Jews will come to accept Jesus as savior. And Jesus said in Matthew that he will not return until the Jewish people cry out, baruch haba b' shem adonai. In other words, blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. That is what will trigger the return of Christ? Those who are saved will come out of the tribulation and they will be a priestly people. Hosea 14 says, I will heal their backsliding. I will love them freely, for my anger has turned away from them. In Zechariah 8. 23 Gary one of my favorite passages, the Lord says, In those days, 10 men from every language of the nation shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man saying, let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.
A
So we're not seeing all the way to the end right now. What we're seeing in front of us on daily television is a dramatic, a dramatic situation that's going to evolve into a blessing.
B
Yeah, Satan wants to destroy the Jewish people because Jesus can't return if there's no more Jews left to cry out to him. And so he's going to do everything he can to ramp up the anti Semitism. I also believe that the Lord allows anti Semitism to force the Jewish people to go back to Israel where the only place that they're starting to feel is safe. And so we're there. We are living in, in Bible times. We are seeing the Jewish people regathered as prophesied. They will go through a time of tribulation. The whole world will. But they will be refined and they will come out and finally become the priestly people that God said they will be.
A
Wow. We're talking to Nathan Jones, author of the coming Millennial Kingdom. And I wish we had more time, but we have to pause right now so that you can find out how to get his book.
C
The Millennial Kingdom might just be the most misunderstood prophetic subject in the entire Bible. Books have been written about the thousand year Kingdom age. It's not easy to make all the pieces fit together. We have the raptured saints, the martyred saints, the Old Testament saints, and the unsaved people who survived the seven Year Tribulation. We even read about the return of King David to rule alongside King Jesus. Then we have the white horse police force, as Eliana Marzulli calls it. That would be us, the armies of heaven, who return on white horses at the end of the tribulation period. And with Jesus leading the charge, studying the kingdom age is complicated. Starting with the phrase ruling and reigning with Christ as raptured believers, will we be given our own cities to police? Why are we responsible for judging angels? How can sin be present when Jesus rules with the rod of iron? How do animal lovers justify the reinstitution of animal sacrifices. And why does God give Satan yet another opportunity to deceive the world? Then there's the massive Millennial Temple. Its size defies human imagination. It will be the largest and most magnificent building ever constructed. In addition, massive land changes will take place. The entire city of Jerusalem will be lifted up and changed, permanently changing a new city that will span some 2,500 square miles. Nathan Jones has taken these questions and written the Coming Millennial Kingdom. And it reads like a treasure map digging out hidden clues to take us to our final destination. Lifespans will be extended, the curse on the animal kingdom will be lifted. Sin will be judged swiftly, and real peace will be in the air. Nathan's roadmap will give you a good look at God's future plans. The coming Millennial Kingdom is available for your gift of $30 or more with shipping included anywhere in the USA. We're also going to include a free bonus, a copy of God's Grand Finale, a study on the Book of Revelation by prophecy expert Jeff Kenley. A
And we're back with Nathan Jones. We've got about three minutes. Can you believe it? Time flies when there is a lot to say and you really have a lot to say about the Millennial Kingdom. I must say, this book, let's put it this way, you look at a book with a title that has the Millennial Kingdom in it and you think, well, not for me, oh no. You start to read it and you find out, wait a minute, this thing is really interesting. And you go through clear to the end, as I did. And I must say, it was edifying, it was enjoyable. Praise the Lord and kind of spiritually uplifting.
B
Well, it is. And it has one of the biggest tragedies of the whole planet. The whole human history ends in a tragedy. And the fact is that Satan will be bound for a thousand years. Imagine no satanic influence affecting governments of the world. But the Lord releases them at the end. And all those children born of the tribulation saints may still choose Jesus or not. And it says that many of them will unite with Satan and try one last attempt to overthrow Jesus. There's no war, so he just sends down fire and incinerates them. And that's the end of the millennial kingdom. Then we get the eternal state afterwards. Which proves that even though you could have a perfect king and a perfected administrators, that's the church age, that's us. If the people are still fallen, even a utopia, you're going to have a failed government. And that's what the millennial kingdom proves, that Jesus Christ has to defeat all, all evil, including death and Hades itself, in order to have a perfect society.
A
Wow. And everything is on schedule. You don't have to worry. In fact, if you are wondering these days, where in the world are we going and who's in control and wow, what's happening? All you have to do is just remember that there is a conclusion, there is a culmination, and God has this master plan, which I think a lot of us just forget to look at. It's really easy to get absorbed in daily events and get a little bit depressed, a little bit out of sorts. Wow, is this really happening? And then when you get back to looking at what the Bible says, it's really, really, I guess you could say relaxing.
B
Yes. Cause God wants us to know that he has the victory. He and his children through him are victorious as well.
A
And you have put that so well in your book. We've got just a few seconds. And what would you say to the potential reader of this book on the Millennial Kingdom?
B
The only way that you're gonna be a citizen of the Kingdom is if you know Jesus Christ as your Savior. Put your faith and trust in him and you too can be a citizen of the kingdom.
A

This episode features a deep-dive discussion with Nathan Jones about the biblical future after the return of Jesus, specifically focusing on the Millennial Kingdom—a thousand-year era described in prophetic scripture. The dialogue explores what life will be like for believers and the world during Christ’s reign on Earth, with attention to Old and New Testament prophecy, the significance of Jerusalem, changes in governance, the Millennial Temple, and the special role of Israel and the Jewish people in God’s plan.
“...There is a kingdom that's coming ... a descendant of King David, which we know is Jesus Christ, the Messiah, will rule and reign on this earth literally for 1000 years and then on into eternity.”
—Nathan Jones, [01:15]
“...Is humanity going to forever have to endure living under failed, flawed human government?... Our governments are going to be sinful, and they're always going to fail us…”
—Nathan Jones, [02:53]
“...He says, I will bring them back, and they shall dwell in the midst of where? Jerusalem… the Lord has promised that he is going to set up his kingdom, his throne, in Jerusalem.”
—Nathan Jones, [05:38]
“The virgin shall rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old together, for I will turn their mourning to joy...”
—Nathan Jones (Jeremiah 31:13), [08:29]
“...We'll actually get to see Jesus face to face. And get this. Isaiah 4, 5 says, the Shekinah, glory of God... is prophesied in Isaiah 4 to reside over the millennial temple…”
—Nathan Jones, [14:24]
“...In those days, 10 men from every language of the nation shall grasp the sleeve of a Jewish man saying, let us go with you, for we have heard that God is with you.”
—Nathan Jones (Zechariah 8:23), [19:15]
“Even though you could have a perfect king and perfected administrators... if the people are still fallen, even a utopia, you're going to have a failed government. And that’s what the millennial kingdom proves—that Jesus Christ has to defeat all, all evil, including death and Hades itself, in order to have a perfect society.”
—Nathan Jones, [25:33]
On the urgent need for hope:
“When you look at today's news, you become tense... But right now we're looking at great tension that's going to be reconciled. And that's the beauty of the millennial kingdom.”
—Gary Stearman, [06:38]
On personal application:
“The only way that you're gonna be a citizen of the Kingdom is if you know Jesus Christ as your Savior. Put your faith and trust in him and you too can be a citizen of the kingdom.”
—Nathan Jones, [27:28]
On the purpose of prophecy:
“It's really easy to get absorbed in daily events and get a little bit depressed, a little bit out of sorts. Wow, is this really happening? And then when you get back to looking at what the Bible says, it's really, really ... relaxing.”
—Gary Stearman, [26:24]
