So Mondo, in your book you asked about 15 prophecy authors, you know, what their opinion is on Christians that support the Third Temple, the construction of a Third Temple.
B
Well, I appreciate that because this was always the question that was coming up, you know, as I'm writing this, because this again, it's a very important topic. So I simply said, well, hey, you know what, I have my own opinion, but let me find out what all my, you know, my friends and other people's, their favorite prophecy teachers are, you know, J.B. hickson, Andy Woods, I mean, even Amir Tsarfati and others, Tom Hughes. So I said, hey, Lee Brainard, Pete Garcia, what do you guys think? Should we do this? And one of the way that I asked it was should Christians support with their money the supporting of the building of the Third Temple? And you know what, you get a variety of perspectives and some were very adamant, absolutely not. Christians should not support this because Jesus is the final sacrifice. And the, there's no reason to put money into supporting a system that we know that God has moved on from. I mean, and, and so you get all the answers there. But I would say this, that I think, unfortunately, Joe, that when we talk about it, people then make the assumption, this is why I asked the question of them, because we report on it, the assumption is that we're approving it. And so I didn't say that. I mean, I personally would not give money for the rebuilding of the Third Temple. But what that, that is. So when, when we say should Christians support it? I think ultimately what most of the teachers said is that, you know, that's between them and the Lord. But they would say for them personally, they personally wouldn't. And, and I would take that same position. But I again, I know others who are solidly Christian and they, they love, they have friends that are Jews and they want to support the movement because they have this idea that there's going to be this idea of worshiping God at the Temple Mount with the Temple, Jews and Christians together, which, that, that's, that's their, that's their goal, that's their heart. I think that's going to end up being extremely problematic because for the most part, Christians in that system will not be able to be included in any of the worship. There's a court of the Gentiles, so it's like, hey, we're Jews, you don't belong here. You need to go outside and into the court of the Gentiles. And I don't think that that's necessarily done with any malice. Maybe for some of the Orthodox Jews, maybe. But for the most part they, they're believing that they're following the Torah, you know, and they're going to have their system set up where God under the Old Testament, under the Old Covenant, day at covenant had it very strict where you had Gentiles and, and even women on the periphery. So should Christians support, You know, that's going to be up to them. But at the end of the day, what we're doing right here is we're simply reporting the news of what's happening as well as describing that the Bible says, the Bible makes a statement. The Bible's also reporting the news. The Bible's reporting that in the future this third temple will be built and it will be, sacrifices will be being offered by the Jewish people. It doesn't, it's, it's not, it's not spoken in a context of, of endorsement or even rejection in those passages. It's simply stating a historical, well in this sense a future fact that this is going to be in place.
A
Yeah, 100 agree with that. And the reason why I asked that question is because know one of the new features we've started here on Prophecy Watchers is posting, you know, daily news links and they're really like in a bullet point form and it's been a really well received and I think some people do at times they would interpret our post as an endorsement of whatever headlines that we're sharing and when we're, we're just sharing the things that we feel are prophetically significant, such as anything that has to do with the Temple Mount is prophetically significant. So of course we're going to report on that. I mean just because we report on the rise of, of artificial intelligence and the, the rise of the beast system infrastructure, we certainly don't, you know, endorse this a future beast system, but we're certainly going to report on it. We're going to talk about it because it's prophetically significant. So last question I got for you here, or maybe the last question is, you know, a literal reading of Daniel 12:11. We can infer that a temple will be in place because daily sacrifices will be taken away. That would mean that a functioning temple is in place leading up to the midway point of the tribulation. Do you think it's possible for a functioning temple to exist outside of the tribulation? Or do you think that it's a little bit too impossible at the moment due to the geopolitical landscape?
B
That's a great question because not Only in, you know, in another parallel passage we have Daniel 9:27, that you know, that he'll confirm the covenant for the Jewish people for the many for one week. And then in the middle of the week he, the Antichrist will put a, an end to sacrifices and offerings. And we, we believe that that of course is going to be the middle of the 70th week of Daniel, which is three and a half years in. So what that tells, what does that tell us? It brings up another that's similar, which maybe is not close. When Mondo, when do you think the, the temple is going to be built? Well, the Bible doesn't tell us, you know, oftentimes prophecy is given as a snapshot. You get a snapshot of an event and it doesn't necessarily tell you exactly how it's going to happen. Happen. For example, Micah 52 says the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem, but it didn't tell us how the mechanism, we didn't know that God was going to move the heart of an emperor, you know, to have a census that would bring, you know, Joseph and Mary down from Nazareth, down, you know, where they were living, down to Bethlehem. But so the mechanism isn't always explained. So in the same way, all we have is this. In the middle of the week, in the middle of that seven year period, the sacrifice and the offerings are ceased. Now what the question is, how long have they been going? Have they been going one week, two weeks, two years, three years, five years? The Bible doesn't tell us that. So all we know is by the middle of the week they're there. Now my opinion, I can add one more thing though. If I was to add another element, I would say that According to Daniel 9:27, I've written a lot about this, as many people know and spoke about it, that when it comes to Daniel 9:27, literally, I mean in, literally in Hebrew it says the he, which is, in this case, I think it's the Antichrist. The Antichrist will cause the covenant, and in this sense I think it's the Mosaic covenant in context. So the Antichrist will cause the Mosaic covenant to prevail for the Jews for one week, and then in the middle of the week he will cause the sacrifices and offerings to cease. So that being the case, what he does is I think he comes in and he's the one that initiates the covenant to prevail, to be put into place, to be then obeyed and followed. And so I think in that case, if I lean on that, not everybody agrees with me, and that's fine. But I take that as that all this, all this machinations that are happening, all this preparation, he's going to be the one to fully and finally cause this to prevail. And, and when he causes the Mosaic covenant to prevail, that means to be enforced for the law of the land, so to speak, for the Jews. Remember, right now most of Israel is secular. So the, the, the, the religious Jews want the Mosaic Law to be the law. But there's enough secular people that that's not the case. You know, you might have some things that are like not open on Saturdays or Shabbat, but for the most part you can still buy bacon. You know, you can still buy a lot of things. There are a lot of rules. You know, most of the restaurants, you can't buy a cheeseburger because that's mixing the meat and the cheese together. It's kind of sad. Okay, love a good cheeseburger. But when he comes on, he's going to enforce all that. Well, when he enforces the Mosaic covenant, what does that mean? Well, the Mosaic covenant is the temple. It's. Think of all. If you were to ask somebody in the Old Testament, where are the temple stipulations found? Well, they're found in the law of Moses. So when he, when he causes that the law of Moses to prevail or to be enforced, that's going to include all of the temple requirements. And therefore I think for that seven year period. So I think based on that, a lot of the work has been done, but the actual construction and initiation is going to be during the 70th week of Daniel during that seven year period.
Hosts: Gary Stearman (A) & Mondo Gonzales (B)
Episode Date: June 3, 2026
In this episode, Gary Stearman and Mondo Gonzales delve into a pressing question within Bible prophecy circles: Should Christians support the rebuilding of the Third Temple in Jerusalem? Drawing from conversations with prophecy experts and exploring scriptural implications, the hosts consider theological, ethical, and prophetic dimensions of the Temple's anticipated reconstruction. The discussion includes examination of Daniel 12:11 and 9:27, insights from leading prophecy teachers, and clarifications regarding Prophecy Watchers' reporting stance.
[00:00–03:44]
Mondo’s Book Inquiry:
Mondo Gonzales reached out to 15 well-known prophecy authors for their views on Christians funding or supporting the Temple’s construction—names included J.B. Hickson, Andy Woods, Amir Tsarfati, Tom Hughes, Lee Brainard, and Pete Garcia.
Range of Perspectives:
Clarifications on Reporting vs. Endorsement:
Both hosts emphasize that reporting on Temple Mount activities or related prophecy news does not imply endorsement or approval.
“We’re just sharing the things that we feel are prophetically significant…” (Gary, 03:50)
“…just because we report on the rise of ... the beast system infrastructure, we certainly don’t ... endorse this future beast system, but we’re certainly going to report on it.” (Gary, 04:03)
[03:44–08:34]
Scriptural Basis:
Discussion centers on Daniel 12:11—daily sacrifices being taken away presupposes a functioning temple at the tribulation’s midpoint. Daniel 9:27 is also pivotal:
“He will confirm the covenant for the many for one week ... in the middle of the week the Antichrist will put an end to sacrifices and offerings.” (Mondo, 05:13)
Timing of the Third Temple:
Interpretation of Daniel 9:27 and Mosaic Covenant:
“The Antichrist will cause the Mosaic covenant to prevail for the Jews for one week…he will cause the sacrifices and offerings to cease.” (Mondo, 06:37)
“When he enforces the Mosaic covenant, what does that mean? ... that's going to include all of the temple requirements.” (Mondo, 07:48)
Recognizing Nuance and Personal Conviction:
“Should Christians support? You know, that’s going to be up to them.” (Mondo, 02:54)
On Christian Participation in Temple Worship:
“Christians in that system will not be able to be included in any of the worship... There’s a court of the Gentiles, so it’s like, hey, we’re Jews, you don’t belong here.” (Mondo, 02:20)
On Reporting vs. Endorsement:
“Just because we report on the rise of ... the beast system infrastructure, we certainly don’t ... endorse this future beast system, but we’re certainly going to report on it...” (Gary, 04:03)
On Secularism and Mosaic Law in Modern Israel:
“Right now most of Israel is secular. ... There are a lot of rules, you know, most of the restaurants, you can’t buy a cheeseburger because that’s mixing the meat and the cheese together. It’s kind of sad. Okay, love a good cheeseburger.” (Mondo, 06:58)
The tone of the discussion is thoughtful, respectful, and scripturally rooted, marked by a desire to separate personal conviction from authoritative pronouncement. Both hosts emphasize nuance and caution, aiming to inform without directing listeners toward a firm position except to advocate for biblical fidelity and personal discernment.
This episode of Prophecy Watchers carefully examines whether Christians should support the rebuilding of the Third Temple, leaning heavily on insights from prophecy scholars and scriptural analysis. The hosts make clear that their reporting on temple-related developments is not an endorsement, and the question of Christian involvement is ultimately left to individual conviction before the Lord. Scriptural passages like Daniel 12:11 and 9:27 underpin the view that the Temple will play a future prophetic role, likely coming to fruition during the Tribulation under the Antichrist’s regime. The conversation is rich with theological reflection, contemporary relevance, and points toward ongoing discernment for believers.
