Hello, I'm Gary Stearman. Welcome to Prophecy Watchers. We have a very special guest with us today. His name is Britt Gillette and he's written a book called Signs of the Second Coming. Brit, welcome to Prophecy Watchers.

Thanks for having me. It's a pleasure to be here.

[A]

You are a writer. Talk about maybe a little of your writing history and what do you do these days?

[B]

So I've been writing online about Bible prophecy for about 25 years.

[A]

Really?

[B]

Yes, I've written numerous articles on writing raptureready.com I've had my own website. I've written four books on Bible prophecy and right now I write on [e-mail] have a YouTube channel as well. So I do videos as well. But that's what I'm doing full time these days.

[A]

And I'm sure you would agree with me that these are exciting times.

[B]

Absolutely.

[A]

I mean, the most exciting times I can remember, I'm holding my old faithful King James Bible here. First Thessalonians, chapter 5. But of the times and seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you for yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night, the day of the Lord comes as a thief in the night. And then. Well, you've written a book called Signs of the Second Coming. Let's square these seeming contradictions up. If they're, if there are no signs, why are we talking about signs of the Second Coming?

[B]

Right. Well, if we read on in that passage, we'll find it says, but you are children of the light, and you will not be surprised when these things take place. So Jesus tells us to watch. He commands us to be alert, to be awake. What are we supposed to watch? And be alert and awake too. We're supposed to be awake and alert and watching for the signs that Jesus and the prophets told us to look for. And so in this book, we go through just a few of those signs that are converging in our day and time. And that's something that previous generations of Christians could not point to.

Ah, well, I'm looking at your chapters. Chapter one, the timing of the Second Coming, Chapter two, the nature of the Second Coming. And then you go into chapter three, the exponential curve, which would be a curve that's gaining in, in angularity and moving at a faster rate.

[B]

So we see that in our day and time. It's a sign that Jesus pointed to. So Jesus said that the days prior to his coming would be like Birth pains. And if we were to plot birth pains on a chart, they increase in frequency and intensity as the moment of the birth draws near. And so we should expect to see global events transpire in the same way. Just as we approach the second coming of Jesus Christ at the end of the seven year tribulation, we should expect to see ever increasing frequency and magnitude of these earth shaking events and the events that Jesus and the prophets said to look for.

You talk about earth shaking events and we watch the news a lot. The faithful Christians look at the Bible, they look at what's happening in the world today. They're watching Russia and the Middle east, of course, but China and India and suddenly all the world seems to be inflamed. And you know, that brings me to verse three of that same chapter, chapter five, first Thessalonians. For when they shall say peace and safety, then sudden destruction shall come upon them. And we are sort of living under that umbrella right now. I think a lot of people are watching what's going on and saying, how long, oh Lord, what's happening and how do you contribute to that in this book?

Well, we certainly see wars and rumors of wars, but the magnitude of those wars, the ability to cause destruction that those wars have in our day and time, is beyond anything we had seen up until the recent past. And especially when you look at the global supply chain, we saw how fragile that was during COVID And so if you had a really inflamed war between Russia and Ukraine, you're talking about one of the breadbaskets of the world and what would that do to the food supply? So there's major implications to these what seem like regional conflicts. And maybe in the past, a thousand years ago, you could have all out war in the Middle East. It's not necessarily going to impact South America or North America today. Everyone on the planet is impacted. When you have one of these major conflicts take place and things are connected

together globally as they never have been before. Thinking about our satellites, which are like exponentially increasing in number. Global satellite communications. You can pick up your wonderful device, which we all have, and you can talk to somebody on the other side of the globe just by punching in a few numbers. Sure. And by the way, they know where you are and what you're doing, no doubt about it, because you're carrying your device. And so we now have a global high speed information system. And also we have at the same time developed weaponry that nobody could ever dream about. Most of it is top secret. Sure. And I'm sure That if we knew just what we have in the way of weaponry, we'd be scared to death. Unless we're Christians, of course. Why be scared to death? Because our Lord talked about these times and he urged us to encourage one another. And I think you're in the encouragement business, right?

Yes, absolutely. If you know Jesus Christ, which is the most important thing you can do in your life is to have a relationship with Jesus Christ, there's no need to fear any of the things that see coming. We should be filled with a sense of joy, one, and knowing that Christ is going to return. But number two, we should be filled with a sense of urgency to share the good news of Jesus Christ with all of our friends, our neighbors, our relatives, our loved ones. We should be ready at all times to give an account for the hope that we have in Jesus Christ. So if you're already a Christian, this should push you forward to righteous living and sharing the gospel with many people. And if you're not a Christian, what we see that the Bible foretold thousands of years in advance should awaken you to the times in which we live in the reality of Jesus Christ as king the world.

It's amazing. Just watch any news service for two or three days and it'll take your breath away. The rate at which things are happening,

well, especially when you look at technology and the advancement of technology that's coming at an exponential rate. And there are many people, for instance, Ray Kurzweil, who is one of the top engineers at Google, he's an inventor, he's a technological forecaster and he claims by the middle of this century that human beings will be software based. That's how exponential this is coming. And whether that turns out to be true or not, I think it puts blends new. Maybe a different thought to what Jesus meant when he said unless those days are shortened, no flesh would survive. Because we are heading toward that place technologically where human beings. We see transhumanism being pushed as one of the dominant philosophies not only in Silicon Valley, but by global leaders everywhere. So we are definitely seeing an exponential increase in technology and the capabilities that that has, as you mentioned, the ability to communicate from anywhere on the globe. And when we look at that with things like say the witnesses in Revelation 11 and how the whole world looks upon their bodies over the course of three days outside of the supernatural, that was impossible prior to our day and time. But now we see what where much of the world, the people of the world, have mobile devices where they can watch Events in real time. We see how that could be possible outside of the supernatural.

And when you really stop and think about it, we are moving into a period of time when the old term, the biblical term mark of a beast can be identified. Because it's very easy to place a mark or even a lot of information under the skin of the average human being to inject one of those little microchips and guess what? Mark the beast. So we don't wonder about those things anymore. They're possible, right?

[B]

Yeah. Again, outside of the supernatural, this was impossible prior to our generation. But now we're seeing technology such as tattoos, temporary tattoos that can go on your skin and hold all sorts of information about your medical history, about your personal history, your financial history. We're seeing companies that are connected to finance doing the same things, and companies where you can unlock doors in the workplace, you can buy things at a vending machine through these microchips that are placed under the skin, as you said. And we're seeing more and more, we're seeing 98% of the countries in the world or 98% of the global economic output in countries. Those countries are exploring central bank digital currency or have outright launched central bank digital currency already. And that gives enormous power to the governments of the world because not only can they track everything you do, but they can program that currency to determine whether or not you can buy or sell. Which is exactly what we read in Revelation 13, 16, 17.

There it is in Revelation. We've read about it for years. And I can remember 20, 30 years ago reading the Bible and really wondering how this was all going to happen. You don't have to wonder anymore.

You don't have to have a wild imagination. You just have to read the headlines to find out how this could all play out.

[A]

Now, moving through, through the, the chapters of, of this book, chapters five and six talk about Israel and Jerusalem as signs. Well, guess what? Here's another, yet another set of signs that are current.

[B]

Yeah, we read throughout the, the Old Testament numerous prophets said that God has claimed that he will bring his people back into the land in the latter days. And we see exactly that. He would draw them from north and south and east and west, all over the globe to Israel. We see that in our day and time. We're all witnesses to that. Most of us can place our hands on the Bible, that it existed before 1948 when we saw the modern day nation state of Israel created. And then we also read throughout that as well as Jesus said that Jerusalem would be trampled by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles come to an end. You know, some would argue that that's ultimately fulfilled when the Temple Mount comes under complete control of Israel. But we see the Jewish people in control of Jerusalem again as of 1967 for the first time since the year 70. And so you think about that. If you put that in perspective, that's a sign that most of us take for granted because it seems to have always been around. We've always had a nation state of Israel. Israel's always been in possession of Jerusalem, but for 93% of Christian history, that was not true.

well, we're back with Brit Gillette and your book Signs of the Second Coming. And we started by saying, well it weren't really that there are, you know, that many signs of what we're looking for, the Rapture of the Church. But this is specifically the second coming. And you make a distinction, of course, we all do.

[B]

Yeah. The Rapture is a signless event. It could happen at any moment. No signs are necessary to precede it. But the second coming of Jesus Christ comes at the end of the seven year Tribulation. So therefore we would expect to see the events that take place during that seven year period. And we're starting to see the world stage lineup in such a way that we those events could be expected to play out. I mean we just mentioned that the mark of the beast and how for years people might imagine how will that be possible? Well now we see not only how it could be possible, but we see almost every government in the world pushing a system that is indistinguishable in capability and function from the mark of the beast system. It's not the mark of the beast that will come during the Tribulation period. And of course it requires the Beast, the Antichrist. But we see that system, that infrastructure being put in place right before us in our day and time and that should have everyone alert to the signs that we see all around us.

Let's talk for a minute about your chapter eight here. And everybody will be familiar with this, I'm sure. Gog of Bagogenic. And what do you think about that?

[B]

Well, in Ezekiel 38 and 39 we read about this coalition of nations that's going to invade Israel in the latter days. It's a surprise invasion and no one comes to Israel's aid except God and he supernaturally destroys that invading army. And throughout human history we have never seen this coalition of nations gathered together in any way. But in our day and time, we're seeing them get together. So we see Russia, we see Turkey, we see Iran coming together as part of this coalition of nations. We see Sudan and Libya, both places where Russia has a presence, a military presence. They're trying to get access to ports in those countries as well. Up until recently. So Afghanistan is one of the nations mentioned in that coalition. And just a few years ago, people said, well, how is this possible? The United States of America is currently occupying Afghanistan, but this is going to be one of the nations in this coalition. Well, now we see with the abandonment of Afghanistan under the Biden administration, the Taliban is back in power. They definitely are not friends of Israel. So it's very easy to see. We see this coalition coming together right before our eyes.

I guess the point here is never have we seen so many spots on planet Earth all coming into alignment at the same time that they are presented just as they are presented in the Bible.

[B]

Yes, and I believe that's the number one sign of the second coming. Jesus told us what it was. It's convergence. It's the convergence of all these different signs we've talked about, as well as numerous other signs that Jesus and the prophets told us about. So Jesus said In both Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21, when you begin to see all these things take place, look up, your salvation draws near. He says, I'm right at the door. Jesus didn't say, well, a few hundred years might pass by or, you know, I'll think about it, or if people change their ways, different things will happen. No, he was very clear. When do you begin to see all these things take place? Know that I'm near, right at the door. And he commands us in numerous places to be alert, to be watchful, to be awake and to be paying attention. Don't fall asleep. And so we are seeing those signs again that previous generations of Christians couldn't point to really any of the signs we've discussed so far, our generation can point to all of them. So we're seeing the signs of the second Coming emerge and converge in our day and time. And I believe that's the number one sign that the return of Jesus Christ.

Your chapter 10 called Global Government is especially pertinent right now because those making contributions and those having certain anxieties about what's going on. Again, you're amazed at the similarity with Scripture.

[B]

Yeah, we've seen numerous calls over the past several decades for global government, people pushing for global government. And we see governments involved in passing legislation that is of a global nature. So, for instance, the European Union is pushing censorship laws that they're placing on American technology companies. And that has implications for Americans posting and social media here in the United States, as well as what kind of programming is put out on, say, Netflix or Amazon prime and how it's aired in these different countries. So we're seeing some of these restrictions other countries have passed, cross over their borders. And then we're seeing the same thing with digital currencies, stablecoins, tokenized assets, digital IDs, or have calls for digital passports at the United nations level. No one can fly anywhere in the world without one.

We're talking of Brit Gillette, Signs of the Second Coming. I just have to read a couple more verses of Scripture, and here is a wonderful one. It says, for when they shall, and I'm repeating this for emphasis. For when they shall say peace and safety, which plays right into what we're talking about. Then sudden destruction cometh upon them. Wow. Are we there?

I think we're in the general season. I don't know if we're specifically there this week.

[A]

I'm not asking Britt to name it.

[B]

Right.

[A]

To set a date. We don't set dates, by the way, although there's a lot of date setting going on.

[B]

There has been, yes.

[A]

And I find that very encouraging when people are so excited about Bible prophecy that they just cannot restrain themselves from setting dates. That, to me, is one of the most exciting things I've ever seen.

[B]

So, yeah, we definitely see calls for peace and safety in all the language of world leaders and the United nations language. So I believe, yes, we're in that time. We're seeing again, all of these signs converge right before us.

[A]

Now, where do we go from here? You call this Signs of the Second Coming? How do you wind this up?

[B]

Well, again, I would think if you're a Christian, you should be filled with joy and anticipation because our hope is in Jesus and he's coming back soon and he's going to establish his kingdom here on earth. You should also be filled with a sense of urgency to share the gospel with everybody around you. Every opportunity you have. And there's so many opportunities. I know people struggle with, how do I share the gospel?

[A]

Exactly. And by the way, this is a huge question. I know where you're going. Been there, done that many times. How do you. Maybe some, some new neighbors move in next door to you. And they're great people. They're not Christians. And you say to yourself, wow, how can I find a way to break this subject so it doesn't offend them? I'm not being pushy. What should I do?

[B]

I would start by asking them questions. Ask them a question about what they think of some of these things. What do you think of this digital currency they're rolling out, or these stable coins that they're rolling out? Or that the UN wants to have a passport in order to travel on an airplane and just get their, their insight? You're asking them. And most people are more than willing to share their own thoughts on any subject. And so now you've broached the subject and you can lead to whatever you want, even with strangers. If you see somebody, let's say you're at Walmart or Starbucks and somebody pays with cash, say, well, don't get used to doing that. What are you talking about? Well, you know, they want to have this digital currency that replaces physical cash. I've heard of that. And then you can say, well, you know, the Bible foretold this almost 2000 years ago in Revelation chapter 13, a system just like this. And at that point they'll either say, tell me more, or they might say, okay, we're done talking. But even if they say, okay, we're done talking, you've planted a seed. Well, we have a few minutes left with Britt Gillette. I've been talking about signs of the second coming. You distinguish between quote unquote, the Rapture and signs of the second coming. And I think it's good to have that breadth of understanding because I think a lot of Christians do sort of confabulate those the two subjects, the Rapture and the second coming, which are really two separate events.

Sure. So we have the second coming of Jesus Christ which occurs at the end of the seven year tribulation. That's when Jesus physically returns to earth and he establishes his kingdom on earth, the millennial kingdom, the thousand year reign of Christ. The Rapture of the church is when believers are transformed in a moment to be with Christ. They meet Christ in the air. And so that's something that could happen at any moment. It's a signless event.

Now with that, having said that, you communicate with a lot of people online, you talk to a lot of Christians, non Christians, you talk about these subjects. Before we came on Today, we talked about dating the Rapture. And a lot of people are doing that these days, say, oh, the Rapture is going to be on such and such a date. Well, no, you should never do that. Why shouldn't I? You know, I'm excited about the, the Rapture. Comment on that. Take just about a minute, which is what we have left, and, and comment on the excitement that's around right now.

Well, it's understandable. There's great excitement again for all the reasons that we just cited. We see these signs that previous generations could not point to. But Jesus said no one knows the day or the hour. And so date setting can be problematic in that people can be built up with a certain level of enthusiasm and emotion and then have a big letdown when that date passes. And the Bible doesn't give us a specific date. So any specific date setting doesn't necessarily align with what Scripture says. But we do know the season of the Lord's return. And again, Jesus made that very clear. We mentioned earlier, he said, when you begin to see all these things take place, know that I'm near, I'm right at the door. And so we're beginning to see all those things take place in a way that previous generations could not point to. And so we should be busy occupying with the Lord's work right up until the day and time he comes.
