B
So here we go.
A
Let's start at the beginning of Charlie's story. Charles James Kirk was born to Robert and Catherine Kirk on October 14, 1993. I feel this on a very personal level because Charlie was only five months older than my oldest child, so technically Charlie could have been my son. Age wise, the Kirk family. Charlie his parents, and later his younger sister Mary, lived in Arlington Heights, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago, and later moved to another suburb, Prospect Heights. Charlie attended Christian Heritage Academy and as he explained it in one of his discussions with college kids at one of these events in the last few years, he became a Christian when he was in fifth grade. And this is how he explained it. At school, his teacher was teaching about sin. Charlie explained that when we truly understand sin, it terrifies us and, and brings us to Jesus. Because when we realize the nature of our sin, we realize we need a savior. And this is what happened to him in fifth grade. As Charlie told his testimony to the college students that day, all standing in the rain under umbrellas, he said that as a fifth grader he made Jesus the chairman of the board of his life. Charlie said that this was the most important decision he had ever made because everything he believed in, in every area of his life stemmed from the truth of the scripture and the Gospel. As a boy, Charlie was in the Boy Scouts of America, where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout. And and as he was growing up, Charlie's parents were politically moderate. However, in high school he began to listen to conservative talk radio and he also began reading books about conservative politics and economics. These informational influences of his life helped him to understand our nation's government and economic structures and systems better than he had previously. And Charlie realized he wanted to be involved in politics in some way. After graduating from high school, Charlie wanted to attend West Point, but was not able to gain entry into that prestigious military academy. Instead, he attended Harper College near Chicago for a while, but soon realized that he did not want to spend his time there because it wasn't preparing him for what he really wanted to do. He wanted to reach his generation with the truth about how America was founded. And he wanted to help them learn how to protect their precious freedoms. In June 2012, 18 year old Charlie launched Turning Point USA out of his parents garage. He had very little money and no one really knew who he was. But he had a dream and a goal. His organization's goal is to encourage young Americans to love our country enough to protect it. Little by little, Charlie gained the attention and the respect of conservative leaders from around the country. He was articulate and educated and he challenged and inspired others to be the best version of themselves. Over the next few years, Charlie grew in his knowledge of economics and government and philosophy and religion. And his faith grew too. And as it did, it began shaping and maturing his views on everything. Charlie spent many hours studying the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights, and the writings of the Founders themselves. He studied the philosophers and the scriptures that influenced these men so deeply in their work. And he challenged himself to work harder and to do everything in his life better. As he learned more and more about the Christian roots of our nation. He spoke out against the long held strike secular anti American views being taught in schools and in universities. He challenged people who held those views to prove him wrong. He encouraged the youth of America to get married, have children, build a legacy, pass down your values, pursue the eternal.

And in so doing, Charlie inspired others to live for Jesus. You guys, I was one of those he inspired and encouraged. I often listened to his podcast show and watched his videos. I prayed for this young man who so deeply loved God, our country and his family.
A
And I prayed when he prayed for.
B
The children and the young people to know that God loved them and wanted them to trust in Jesus as their Savior. Charlie also grew to have a lot of influence in politics. He understood that politics determined policies and policies help shape and influence culture. On November 5, 2024 and well into the early hours of the 6th, my hubby and I watched the presidential election results coming in. In years past, we would have watched the election results on a TV channel, but not this time. We tuned into the Charlie Kirk Show. Hour after hour, Charlie and his team.
A
Talked to each other from all over the nation. I sat in awe as I watched.
B
These intelligent, hardworking young people analyzing the situation and reporting the to the viewers what was happening. They talked about how they had spent.
A
Many, many days and weeks talking to.
B
The high school and college students of America about Christian conservative values and what hung in the balance for our nation during this election. When the election results were called, Charlie broke down and his wife ran to give him a hug. Charlie's first words upon hearing the results were, you guys, this is the mercy of God. We don't deserve this. Over this past week I have cried many tears for the loss of this young man who was the same age as my young adult children. I have grieved the silencing of his voice. Romans 8:15 says that we who have accepted Christ have received the spirit of adoption by whom we cry out Abba Father I never personally met Charlie, but he was my younger brother who was about our Father's work and I grieve for him like a brother and I'm sure many of you have felt the same. We are sad because we have lost our brother. Charlie's life was short, but it was powerful because he lived his faith. When someone asked him what he wanted to be remembered for, he said, my courage for my faith. In this last week, I've spent hours watching dozens of of young people from all over the world articulating how much Charlie meant to them. The shot that killed Charlie is this era's shot heard around the world. I have watched thousands stand to their feet and declare their intentions to pick up the mic that Charlie dropped when he died. I have seen the beginning of a revival start from the legacy of Charlie. I want to read a portion of what Charlie's team wrote on his website after his death. His energy and drive were awe inspiring, without equal and deeply infectious. Charlie refused to squander a single day of his life. He was a natural builder and problem solver who loved a challenge and saw every setback as a chance to learn, grow, pray and try again. He was fundamentally Decent, always eager to make new friends and allies and to support and defend the ones he had already made. His values were timeless American ones. Honesty, forthrightness, duty, loyalty, and fair play. Charlie loved America, its people, its constitution, its freedom, and the limitless good all of them have done for the world. But above all, Charlie lived every day with an overflowing love of the Christ he knew and would one day get.
A
To see.
B
You guys. As I thought about Charlie's life and prayed about what I should say about him in this podcast episode, my mind just kept circling back to this one major truth. Charlie counted the cost. He understood that what he was doing was dangerous. He knew it. He was going into spaces and places that were not safe and speaking about topics that were highly controversial. He was working in enemy territory, the enemy of this world that prowls around looking for someone to destroy. Charlie also knew he was called to do it, and he trusted God with his life. In John 16:33, Jesus tells his disciples, here on earth, you will have many trials and sorrows, but take heart because I have overcome the world. Charlie accepted this. He knew he wasn't called to it because it was easy. He was called to it because it was good and right and brought God glory. Jesus wanted his followers to know that there would be hardship and pain during their lives on earth. But it isn't forever. And while we are here on this painful soil, we have him our with us, God to comfort and guide us. And Charlie knew this and depended on God. He might have felt fear, but he didn't let it set his boundaries, steal his joy, or determine his actions. Isaiah 41:10 says, don't be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, and I will hold you up with my victorious right hand. God does not give us a spirit of fear, you guys. And Satan doesn't have the final say. When Charlie died, he stepped from this earth right into heaven. And he was met with his well done, good and faithful one. As I end this episode in honor of Charlie, there is nothing more important to honor his memory than the sharing of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. If you can, please close your eyes and hear the only words that can heal the lost souls of humankind that can save them. These are the words of Jesus in John 3:16 21, and this is the.
A
New living translation.
B
For this is how God loved the world. He gave his one and only Son so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. God sent His Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him. There is no judgment against anyone who believes in him. But anyone who does not believe in him has already been judged for not believing in God's One and only Son. And the judgment is based on this fact. God's light came into the world, but people loved the darkness more than the light, for their actions were evil. All who do evil hate the light and refuse to go near it for fear their sins will be exposed. But those who do what is right come to the light so others can see that they are doing what God wants. If you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, it is your responsibility to live in a way that your life shines the light of Jesus. If you do not know Jesus, please come to him today. All you have to do is say, jesus, I know I am a sinner. There is nothing I can do to change that. I know that you are the Savior of the world and the only one who can remove my sin from me. Forgive me and make me right with God. Please do that now. Jesus, I profess that you are my Lord and Savior. If you have prayed that prayer for.
