A podcast where those who are recovering from addiction share their experience, strength and hope.

In this episode of the Recovery Edge Cast, I sit down with a recovering alcoholic and musician who opens up about the realities of staying sober while managing ongoing mental health struggles. Through an honest and vulnerable conversation, the guest shares what it’s like to live with anxiety, depression, and intrusive thoughts—without turning to alcohol—and how music has become both a refuge and a form of expression. This episode offers a raw, grounded perspective for anyone navigating recovery, mental health challenges, or the creative process. It’s a reminder that healing isn’t linear—and that sometimes, the most powerful art comes from learning to sit with the chaos instead of escaping it.

A talk from the Colorado Greeley Stampede, 2026.

A year or so ago I came across a program called Life Recovery and I ordered a workbook for it. Kayla and I decided to check out the readings together and even found a meeting in our neighborhood. It's a Bible centered recovery program and we wanted to discuss our findings as we continue to "level up" our recovery. We're happy to discuss some of the questions and similarities to the AA program which we are far more familiar with. Today Mike joins the show as he celebrates 7 years of recovery on this January 1st 2024. I'm truly grateful to have had Mike as a friend through my own recovery since the first days I stepped in this journey. As you can imagine, a lot has happened in the last few years and Mike's own view on his recovery has evolved. I'm really excited for you to hear this episode and thank you Mike for returning to the podcast!
