A Loving Kindness Meditation for All Impacted by COVID-19: Feeling overwhelmed and perhaps a bit powerless in light of our current state of affairs? As mentioned in this podcast, offering positive intentions and prayers through a Loving Kindness Meditation is one way that we can contribute toward the well-being of ourselves and others, regaining a sense of control over our situation while engaging in the practice, and knowing that we can make a difference from wherever we are, in the process. We invite you to plug in for the next few minutes and enjoy this guided meditation.

This meditation focuses on mindfulness of emotions. We can experience so many different emotions in a single hour, let alone a single day. And our emotions are constantly changing. This guided practice offers a simple, yet powerful way to help us weather our emotional storms. This meditation comes from the Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction program established by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The technique is about recognizing and labeling our emotions so that instead of getting swept up and strongly identified with emotions, there can be space around them. Guided by Marisa Mohrer

Emily from Rise interviews Lindsey Carson, a certified nutritionist from the world renowned Integrative Nutrition Center and founder of LOVE YOUR GUTS. Lindsey's work focuses on the importance of eating well and creating good gut health in order to achieve optimal health and wellness. Today we are really excited to talk to Lindsey about our immune systems and how we can boost our protective immunity with the foods we eat and other great evidence based techniques to keep us healthy and strong, especially now during a time when our immune strength and health is so important.

Give yourself the gift of a small getaway - The simple practice of imagery can be powerful and easily shift your mood and perspective. Belleruth Naperstak and Sharon Salzburg inspired and guided this meditation. Much of the language in this meditation is their language.

This is a reading from Belleruth Naparstek's Staying Well with Guided Imagery I often read from this book during our Friday midday meditations at Rise. I chose this one as a simple grounding and re centering tool to use when we are "stuck" in our thoughts. It's so important to reconnect with your body when we are feeling overwhelmed. Wishing you all peace and health. We miss seeing you at the Loft and know we are connected despite our physical distancing. - the light in me, honors the light in you, and together we are one Namaste -Rise
