"Of course, I believe in God." You've probably heard someone say this during a conversation about spiritual topics. Yet, you wonder, do they really believe what Jesus taught? What do they mean by God? What is the belief system of the average American Christian? In this teaching, we are going to explore the theological framework of American cultural Christians and how to respond to it, leading to saving knowledge in Christ.

We follow the news and hear about the start of a new war. We hear about a mass shooting or a person being attacked. Our first reaction is to justify a violent response either to an injustice or to defend or condemn an aggressive country. What does God say about a violent response? Jesus told the person to turn the other cheek and not to retaliate with violence. What if your life is threatened or a country is defending itself? Is violence justifiable?
