In this episode, we learn the story of Tim Battle. In 2003, Tim was the third-round draft pick of the New York Yankees. At 17, Tim was paid a $500,000 signing bonus, and his future seemed to be heading in only one direction – up. Shortly after reporting to rookie league, Tim was diagnosed with cancer. He battled back and had a successful minor league career. He never fulfilled his dream of making it to the major leagues but has no regrets as to his effort and determination. Tim relishes the experiences he had playing minor league baseball, including being named MVP of a minor league all-star game and playing in Staten Island, New York, with views each night of the Statue of Liberty and Manhattan skyline. Tim has learned many life lessons and now teaches and instructs kids on baseball and life skills.
