Scams C. Robbery and fraud.
Marie Boston
Scam.
Lacey Mosley
Cause Robbery and fraud. Scam Goddess. What's poppin? Congregation? It's your girl, Lacey Mosley, AKA Scam Goddess, back with another installment of the podcast, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice. Y'all already know. I'm very. Yes, I'm very excited, thrilled, elated. We have two women who sit in the front row of the congregation. They have the white gloves. They get to wear hats during service. Okay. They will tell you to put your phone away. And they always have mints in their purse in the church of scams. Okay? They're hilarious actors, comedians. Together, they launched a new podcast called Mess All Caps, where every week they dive into the mess that is life on earth and try to make it make sense. Congregation, please welcome back to the show my friends Sydney Washington and Marie Boston. Hi.
Marie Boston
Amen. God is good.
Sydney Washington
White gloves unite. White gloves unite.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Programs are getting passed through, out. Announcements are getting made.
Marie Boston
That is the best intro that I've ever gotten on a podcast, I think.
Lacey Mosley
Really? I feel like that one was a little shorter than what we normally do is two of you. And we already know we know each other, so we already know the vibes. So we're trying to keep all the time.
Marie Boston
A long intro. Doesn't mean a good intro that, you know, you gave us visuals. You gave us. You gave us a front row. We're in the VIP of the scam church.
Lacey Mosley
Right. As you should be. As you should be.
Sydney Washington
People know who we are and how important we are. By the way, you intro us. So that. That's greatly appreciated.
Lacey Mosley
Y'all are also the live show icons. Like, if you've ever been to a live show, you've seen one or both of them tear the house down. So, you know, it's always a thrill to have you both.
Marie Boston
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. We did the New York show with Punky and Alex English.
Sydney Washington
Oh, my God, that was madness.
Lacey Mosley
Sydney was on the floor.
Sydney Washington
That was madness.
Marie Boston
That was crazy. And then I did the show at the top of this year in San Francisco.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. At Sketch Fest. Sketch Festival. Oh, my goodness. That was such a fun show. I'm so sorry y'all didn't get the five year anniversary show. I'm talking to the congregation, but also to us. Like, I wanted y'all so bad. And then they were like, you got to go to Ireland in five days. And I was like, okay, Yeah, I got some emails about that. They were like, is this a scam? Like, I already had my tea. I'm like, bro, you Got refunded. I had. They took my little black ass out of the country. Like, they were like, get up and leave right now. Okay.
Marie Boston
I love it. I love a busy friend. I love that people are gonna see even more scam things. And I love. It's a black woman. That is the new Barbara Walters.
Sydney Washington
So, you know, and we needed that. And, you know, the audience can't see you right now, but the visuals of the hair, it's very Barbara. It's very. I'm gonna ask you questions, and you gon. You don't know what's about to hit you.
Lacey Mosley
Okay. Well, I hope I'm a little nicer than Barbara. Cause we gotta be for real. Like, she was out here ruining people's lives.
Marie Boston
Well, her. Diane Sawyer. There was somebody else.
Sydney Washington
Oh, yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Diane Sawyer was number one mean girl. I will never forget that interview she did with Britney talking about, this woman says, you need to be shot in the head for wearing those little outfits. And everybody agrees. What say you? And we're like, what was that the.
Marie Boston
Interview when Britney Spears was chewing gum the whole time?
Lacey Mosley
Not that one.
Sydney Washington
No.
Lacey Mosley
She was under duress.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, she definitely was asking her, like, sexual questions, like if she's a virgin and things of that. So, you know, and it's very. You have to, you know. You know, older people, they gonna say. What they gonna say.
Lacey Mosley
They're.
Sydney Washington
They're not running it by anybody. They're like, this is my.
Lacey Mosley
She wasn't older at the time. Yeah.
Sydney Washington
Are you sure?
Marie Boston
How old do you think she was? She was like 30.
Lacey Mosley
She was in her 30s.
Sydney Washington
And then Diane Sawyer always gave 55. 55 shoulder pads. It always gave 55. It doesn't matter what age. It's like Morgan Freeman. Morgan Freeman has been 65 his whole life.
Lacey Mosley
Well, he was old when he was a baby.
Marie Boston
He was an old baby, and he's now an old, old man.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, that's also an old baby.
Lacey Mosley
Nobody has ever seen Morgan Freeman young. That's the scam is we don't know if he ever was.
Marie Boston
I want to see a Morgan Freeman prom pic.
Sydney Washington
I would like to see it too.
Marie Boston
You know, I want to see what he looked like at his prom during the civil rights.
Sydney Washington
I know that Morgan Freeman was on Lean on Me. He was in Lean on Me. And he definitely gave 45. But wasn't he in his 20s?
Marie Boston
Shut up.
Lacey Mosley
No, stop. He was not in his 20s in Lean On Me.
Marie Boston
Somebody look it up.
Lacey Mosley
Scott, look at him. We need to know how old he was.
Marie Boston
Not in his 20s. And lean on Me, I'm screwed.
Sydney Washington
Somebody look it up.
Lacey Mosley
He was 62 and lean on me. I mean, you know how we talk about black people don't age. He just never aged past, like, 65 for a long time. He was 52. He was born in lean on me.
Marie Boston
1937, in on lean.
Sydney Washington
Wait, what?
Marie Boston
Yeah, that makes sense. Sydney, 26.
Sydney Washington
Girl, that's crazy. I was wrong. I definitely apologize. I know that Morgan listens to the pod he loves. So sorry, sir. Sir, ma'am, I'm sorry. I apologize.
Marie Boston
100%.
Lacey Mosley
So we always ask on this podcast, what is your relationship to Scams? Do you love him? Do you hate him? Have you been scammed? It could be anything. I also am gonna chime in on this one this week because I have something to say, but y'all go ahead first.
Sydney Washington
Wait a minute, Lacey, we gotta hear this.
Lacey Mosley
Okay, well, I'll give you some time to think then.
Sydney Washington
Okay. Okay.
Lacey Mosley
I just wanna say that I got scammed by someone who was like, oh, you know, in between work, I'm looking for just, like, a little personal assistant, like, side gig or whatever. And I was leaving town, right, for three months to go to Ireland to shoot. Going Dutch, which comes out January 2nd on Fox. And I needed somebody to just start my car, water my plants, get my mail. I asked them to organize, like, or arrange a cleaning service to come, which I paid for, so it wasn't like it was coming out. I paid them $600 a week. They could go whenever they wanted.
Marie Boston
$600 a week to start the work for us.
Lacey Mosley
I would have flown to la.
Sydney Washington
I would have done that. Lacy, what the hell, Lacey?
Lacey Mosley
This is also someone I know. So I was trying to be supportive. They're a little bit younger than me, not that much. And so I get home, the edges of my plants are looking a little crispy, but my house is clean. There's no toilet paper. Which I was kind of like, you could have got toilet paper, especially. Cause I know they stayed at night at my house. So I was a little annoyed, but I was like, okay. Then I was looking around for my extra key. Cause they dropped off my car keys to the driver when I got into lax. So I'm like, where's my extra key? And I needed it. I had a guest. And I'm like, huh, Maybe it's around here somewhere. So I'm looking for that. I'm looking for my mail. Can't find them. So I text the person. I was like, hey, do you know where my extra key is? Or my mail? You know, it's like, three months of mail, and they're like, oh, I have your extra key. One, why do you have my extra key? Why didn't you give it to the driver? With my other set of keys, you don't need my keys anymore. Two, I was like, where's my mail? And they were like, oh, I have your mail in my glove compartment. I was just picking it up. And then, like, I was gonna drop it all off. I was just organized, and I was gonna drop it all off. I'm like, unnecessary. Cause you have to get my mail at my house. So why don't you just go in my house and leave the mail? I don't understand that.
Sydney Washington
That's weird.
Lacey Mosley
But I'm like, okay. Then I get a text this weekend at, like, 11pm and I was at Arden Marin's birthday party. Shout out to Arden. Love you, boo. She does a bachelor podcast. Love her. So I'm looking at the text, and it's like, omg, I had all your mail in this Ralph's bag, and my partner threw it away a few days ago.
Sydney Washington
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Marie Boston
Wait.
Sydney Washington
No.
Marie Boston
A few days ago?
Sydney Washington
Wait, Lacey, this is crazy.
Lacey Mosley
Three months of my mail?
Sydney Washington
What did you say?
Lacey Mosley
I was out, and I was like, I literally can't deal with this right now. Because the rage. Like, they did, like, organize my closet at one point, but, like, I paid you way too much money at your leisure to do this stuff. I did ask them to hang some photos. They did not get hung. My plants are crispy, so I'm like, they weren't getting water. I checked the soil. It's dry as hell. So I'm like, you didn't do the things that I asked you to do. And then on top of that, you threw away three months of my mail?
Marie Boston
Yeah, girl. You know what, Lacey?
Sydney Washington
That's insane. What are you gonna do?
Lacey Mosley
I was expecting a check from the irs. You know, if I need that reissued, I'm never getting it. It was already. I was already waiting a year at this point. I. I get residual. I know I'm childish, but I haven't had Entertainment Partners be direct deposit, so I get residual checks in the mail. So I don't even know where those are coming from. And I get them all the time. Don't know where they're coming from. I'm gonna have to call Entertaining Partners, stop all the checks for the past four months and reissue them. Like, I don't know what was sent. I'm probably going to get a penalty. I got to Call my accountant. Like, I don't know what else was in the mail. Like, no idea. Girl, they threw away my mail.
Marie Boston
Girl, you need to get your money back.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, you got to get your money back.
Marie Boston
You paid them too much money. I don't want to assume gender. You paid them too much money for them to not do the job.
Sydney Washington
It sounds like a man.
Lacey Mosley
How?
Marie Boston
How? Right, it does sound like a man.
Lacey Mosley
It is, but.
Marie Boston
Okay. Right.
Lacey Mosley
That's why I said it.
Marie Boston
Don't sound like she would do that, but he definitely would. So I know it was some residual checks in there, and I know they probably just drove by your house, picked up your mail, threw it in their car, didn't even go in. Never used the key.
Lacey Mosley
And that doesn't even make sense because you have to go in to get the mail, so you might as well just go upstairs. Yeah.
Sydney Washington
What are you going to do? What are you going to do?
Lacey Mosley
I haven't processed it yet. It literally just happened. Like, I tweeted about it. I never tweeted about my personal business, but I was like, maybe somebody knows something about recovering mail that you don't even know what was in the mail. Because I'm like, I don't. I was flummoxed, absolutely baffled. And then I was like, bring a gas. Literally.
Sydney Washington
That's a good word. Let me write that down.
Lacey Mosley
And then I was like, bring my key back. And they were like, okay, well, I can bring it back on Monday or I can put it in an Uber. And I said, if you don't get your ass in the motherfucking car right now and drive my key over. I know you are not making excuses or offering to put my key in a stranger's car where they're driving it to my address after you just lost my mail. So. But I'm in this place where I'm like, I got scammed. I pay somebody way too much money, thinking, like, if I'm paying you more money, you'll take care. Like, I have nice things in my house. I have expensive things. I have things that I can't replace. So I'm paying you this much so that you take care of these things and that you don't, you know, neglect these things. And you can do whatever you want. You can do, like, I'm not in town, like, whatever. And it's, like, such an easy gig. If I had gotten this gig at that person's age, I would have done it very well, and I would have been very appreciative. And instead, I got to give an Apology to Kim K. Because nobody wants to work anymore. Like, they really don't. I understand if you're working for low wages and your boss is treating you like shit, but I'm a nice boss, and I'm paying you really nicely for something. That's just a side hustle that you can do whenever you want. And you can't do that like that to me. Like, that's my villain origin story. I'm a different bitch now. Oh, y'all don't want to see me coming in 2025. And I will be buying my bag over some mail. Okay? There are consequences and repercussions, and they might not just be legal, but what about y'all?
Sydney Washington
Oh, yeah. Oh, girl, you won. You won that. That's it.
Lacey Mosley
It wasn't a competition. What's been going on with y'all? Scams.
Marie Boston
Scams. I love a scam. You know, if. If you're in America and you not doing them or you are not a victim of one, are you even an American citizen? Like, what's. What's good? This country was built on scams. But literally, I was walking down the street, and this guy saw me, and he was like, oh, I know you. And I was like, no, you. I was like, yeah, all right. And he was like, no, I've been to your show before. Your dating show, you know, why are you single?
Lacey Mosley
Okay? You popping Marie? Don't act like somebody couldn't be like, I know you on the street. They don't have to personally know you. Sure, But I've seen your work.
Marie Boston
But I'm a straight man, right? Like, I. Like, if I have a show and other people come, I'm always like, yes, these cute people with good taste should be here. But anytime a straight man shows up, I'm like, what is this? He trying to steal my organs? Or is this human trafficking?
Lacey Mosley
What if their girlfriend brought him?
Marie Boston
But if they're solo, you know what I'm saying? Like, a guy there with his girlfriend. Absolutely. She dragged him there. He bought the tickets. Thank you for your service. But some regular man alone, no. So I saw this guy. He had a little bag with him, and I said, what's that? And he was like, oxtail. And I said, oh, that's cute. I haven't had oxtail in a minute. And he go, let's go get you some oxtail. And I was like, oh, okay. Now, I had just had brunch. Literally, I just had brunch. And I was like, I'm not hungry. And he was like, you could eat it later. And I was like, I like him. I really like him. Yeah, New York, what a nice guy. So he gets me the food the next day, we talk. He invites me over to watch the sunset at his house and smoke some weed. And I'm just a girl. So I say, yeah, and I go over there. We're on the roof. We're having a good time. I go to his bathroom to use the bathroom. There's a condom wrapper in the trash.
Lacey Mosley
Top of the trash.
Marie Boston
Like somebody was here while I was eating my oxtail. And the condom wrapper is at the tippy. Top of the trash. I'm like, wow, I should say something. But I didn't. I just left. I made an excuse and I left. A couple days later, he hits me up. We end up hooking up, right? We hook up.
Lacey Mosley
Okay.
Marie Boston
It's fine. It's actually less than fine. Less than fine?
Sydney Washington
Damn.
Lacey Mosley
Not less than fine.
Marie Boston
Maybe a day later, Two days later, he's like, yeah, I just want to be transparent with you.
Lacey Mosley
Ugh, now you want to be transparent?
Marie Boston
Why weren't you transparent when you bought me the oxtail? You. You liar.
Sydney Washington
Right?
Lacey Mosley
So you supposed to be transparent at the time of transmission.
Marie Boston
You've been opaque this whole time, right? You've been dark, dark, 100% tint. I just want to be transparent with you, But I just. I have a situation with somebody that lives out of town. Something recent. Bitch. Girl.
Lacey Mosley
So he's married girl. What you mean, a situation?
Sydney Washington
No, I'm sure he's not married, but he definitely was. Like, I would have rather him just be like, I'm not interested. Why are you telling me all of this? I don't need.
Lacey Mosley
This is because he was hoping that this is information.
Sydney Washington
This is information. I don't even.
Lacey Mosley
That's the scam.
Marie Boston
He scammed me out of my panties with some oxtail. Can you believe?
Lacey Mosley
Okay, oxtail is really expensive right now. It wasn't cooked well.
Marie Boston
It's about 3:00, and I did get the large. I got the large oxtail. Oh, so you know it's, like, delicious. Was I scammed or was this just a transaction? A business transaction?
Lacey Mosley
You're worth more than oxtail, even though it's expensive, girl.
Marie Boston
But I can't believe he scammed me. Like, it's not even. Like the sex was not good enough for you to also be a lying, disrespectful man. Like, I could see if you put it down and then said that, then I'd be like, oh, well, at Least I got something out of it. But I got literally nothing, nothing out of it. So Ghanaians are canceled for the rest of 2024.
Sydney Washington
Oh, I could have told you that. I was very well versed in Ghanaians during college. So I'm going to tell you one thing. I will not put my trust.
Lacey Mosley
Put your trust in a nigga?
Sydney Washington
Yeah. Stupid asshole. That's what it is. That's the meme. Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
What about you said.
Sydney Washington
I mean, I just feel like life is a scam. I think every time you turn around and you're like, oh, my God, I'm up, like 20 points, something turns around, you're like, oh, Now I'm down 100. It just from being an adult to being a woman, to being living, breathing in New York. Scam, scam, scam, scam, scam. The election. I mean, how many days do we really have rest? We're not resting. My eyes are constantly open, and even when they're closed, my mind is on. So I just feel like people are working so hard to be an American. Why? Why, why are you so pressed? Why are you damn near breaking your neck to be here? The people who were born here are struggling. I just don't get it. Imagine getting on a rowboat to get all the way over here to work, and then you can't even get an apartment. It is so hard to get in a fucking apartment in New York City. In la. It's like, am I buying a home? I'm getting an apartment in Flatbush, bitch. What is wrong with you?
Lacey Mosley
It's giving home treatment. They're like, oh, your credit, your bank account, your employers. We need four references. If I yell out on the street, we actually take you on the street and just see, like, six passers by it. If they fuck with your vibe financially. Like, what is this? Like, am I adopting a child or am I getting an apartment?
Marie Boston
They want six months of bank statements, like, babe, just let me live here.
Sydney Washington
It's like a guarantor needs to make 120 times the rent. It's like, okay, just say you want people to be homeless. Just say you want people out in the street. And when I buy people, I mean, black people, poor people, like, that's who you want. You do not want people who look like me to be settled to live, like, to live in a relaxing state. I mean, I. Who knows what I could have created if I had my shit together, AKA these people wouldn't be on my neck about, like, all my paperwork. How do you have. How do you have your paperwork? Together. How do you file and then know where your papers are? The fact that your. Your mail was. Is missing for three months. What are you gonna do? I don't even know where to start with that.
Lacey Mosley
I don't know. They just created a huge problem. I will say out there, if you are applying for jobs and you are black or a person of color, we don't lump them together anymore. Stop clicking that. Stop clicking that other race box. Hit white. You'll start getting more responses on everything. Don't tell them you're black. Don't tell them you're Latin, Non. Hispanic. I usually don't.
Marie Boston
Pacific Islander. Just, you know, something different for fun.
Sydney Washington
Well, I guess I have to do that when applying for apartments as well.
Lacey Mosley
But then, yeah, don't tell them you're black. And then if they ask when you get to the apartment, like, oh, you're. You're different than what you clicked on. Race. I'd be like, oh, I'm their assistant. They're so busy. So I look at the places I.
Sydney Washington
Have to be the assistant, and they.
Lacey Mosley
Be like, why your sister living up in there? Don't worry about that, sweetheart.
Sydney Washington
Okay? Be the assistant. Assistant. You're right, Sydney, you gotta. Thank.
Marie Boston
You gotta scam the system.
Sydney Washington
Hey.
Marie Boston
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
Wow. I did not even know. I did not even think about that. I have to be the assistant. At first I was like, be a. Be someone's partner. It's like, no, the assistant.
Lacey Mosley
I'm here on behalf of Sydney Washington. She's currently working, so I'll be seeing the place and taking videos. And they'd be taking them videos. Like, oh, Sydney, they have more closet space in this one. Like. Like, we're gonna get ours back. We're gonna get it back. Y'all not gonna keep scamming us. We scamming back.
Marie Boston
I mean, honestly, Sydney, you could even, like, call a beige friend and put them on speaker and explain what you're seeing. You got plenty of white friends. You can have Rosebud acted out. You got. Honestly.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, Rosebud would be great.
Marie Boston
She'll just be like, well, what's the square footage? What's the school district? And you can.
Sydney Washington
And that's the only way to be American is that you have to get scanned and you have to scam. If you are not participating in the scam, Chella, then. Then what are you doing?
Lacey Mosley
You better be one of the A. You better be one of the A.
Sydney Washington
Has to be one of the. Because if you're not playing in their face, they're playing in Yours. And that's how it is.
Marie Boston
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
And I'm exhausted.
Marie Boston
What would J do? And J would lie. J would steal.
Sydney Washington
He would. And he would get. And he also would have a white companion to help him with this scam.
Lacey Mosley
To JD what would Job Rule do? What would he do without his baby? You know? And that's what we need to be thinking about.
Marie Boston
What you do without your papers.
Lacey Mosley
Yes.
Sydney Washington
It's like, how can I apply? Sc.
Lacey Mosley
Well, let's get into my favorite segment here. Historic Hoodwinks. This is where we were, Gail Marie, and with a famous con caper group of criminals. Today, it is a singular criminal, and it's a very New York alleged criminal, which is why we wanted our native New Yorkers on the show for this one, because they already know. T. We've known for a while. But today we're going to be talking about New York City's tough on crime Mayor, as I like to call him, Mr. Free before 11 at the clerk.
Marie Boston
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
Mr. Hookah thug passion savior of the hood. Yeah.
Marie Boston
Mr. Wearing my. Wearing my grills to city hall. Eric.
Lacey Mosley
Mr. Hennessy. Wings for my BBL. Queens.
Sydney Washington
Mr. We was in La Marina all summer.
Marie Boston
Mr. I got a bunch of hoes in the sprinter van. We going to the next location?
Sydney Washington
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Mr. U up. Mr. I'll hit that cash app. Yes. Mr. Mayor. Eric Adams. So Eric Adams has been indicted on charges including bribery, fraud, and taking illegal campaign donations. He's the first mayor of New York to face federal charges while in office, and he might be the last because he's refusing to leave. Now, I'm not gonna lie, I kind of stand like, not leaving. Okay. He gave us a good J Hood and Dreamgirls. I'm staying. I'm staying.
Sydney Washington
He said, it is what it is.
Lacey Mosley
You, I'm gonna rob you. We like. Yes.
Marie Boston
But I mean, can you blame him, though? Don't they just look who they just elected as president.
Lacey Mosley
He felon.
Marie Boston
Right. He said, hey, if we doing it at the top, I'm doing it at the bottom.
Lacey Mosley
Right. And that's not the bottom. New York's mayor is a mayor that people know around the world because New York is a world city. No, no, he's in the middle world.
Sydney Washington
Because he stay going live when he's in a bar or lounge, he's staying.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
He's on somebody's boat. He's everywhere except the office he's supposed to be working in. So that's why they know him.
Lacey Mosley
I knew shit was shaky when he gave Petey the key. Diddy Love criminal, the keys to the city. And then he was like, run me them shits back as soon as Diddy got indicted. And that was, like, right before his indictment.
Marie Boston
Eric Adams. You could tell by that earring in his ear. Is he the first New York City mayor with an earring?
Lacey Mosley
He might be. Take that earring out. We should have knew from Zales. He had the cubic zucchini. He went to Jared.
Marie Boston
He went to Jared.
Sydney Washington
Oh, he went to Jared.
Lacey Mosley
You don't think he went to K? Every kiss begins with K. Every crime begins with K. I don't think he can spell.
Sydney Washington
Or he went. He went to Jacob the Jeweler, who also is a scam artist as well. I think he went to jail.
Lacey Mosley
I think he went wherever Uncut Jims, uncut jams. I think wherever Adam Sandler was at. And uncut jams. Like, Mayor Eric Adams was there. Like, are y'all done filming yet?
Marie Boston
100%. That's where he went. I mean, Eric Adams was on more red carpets than JLO last year. So that just goes to shit.
Lacey Mosley
Literally.
Marie Boston
He was never at work, but he was always on site.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, but that's what people need to understand.
Lacey Mosley
If a bottle pops in the city, it's like a bat signal for Mayor Eric Adams. He was like, where they popping at? Okay.
Marie Boston
He said, put me on the list, plus three.
Lacey Mosley
Right? You thought Charli XCS was bumping that? No, Mayor Eric Adams.
Sydney Washington
Bubba that bumpa that bumpa that bubba.
Lacey Mosley
That, bumpa that bub.
Sydney Washington
Well, the thing is, is that Eric Adams is mayor of the times, right? It's all about show, show, show. No doing. Like, we know how the popularity works and how get your likes up and your reels and whatnot. All that matters. It doesn't matter the content. It matters. Like, you just have to be consistent. And so he's consistently out shaking hands, chatting people up, shaking hands. He's got the gift of gab. And so he's like, that's what being a mayor is about. It's not about influencer.
Lacey Mosley
Yes, politician and influencer have always been very close, but they're now intertwined in a way that is so gross.
Sydney Washington
Like, truly together.
Lacey Mosley
I need you to go be enacting policies. Stop giving the NYPD so much money.
Sydney Washington
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, they're literally having shootouts in and crowded subways. On the train over somebody who hopped a turnstile.
Lacey Mosley
Like, oh, yeah, you catch, girl. A fade for a, what, $2 something cent subway ride. The police will jump you with batons and dogs, which is Ridiculous.
Sydney Washington
Your priorities in order. They don't have that. They don't even know how to spell priorities. So therefore, no, you know, their priorities.
Lacey Mosley
Are harassing and protecting rich people's property. And we've always known that they have a 40% crime solve rate. They ain't trying to solve no crime. They ain't trying to stop no crime. Hell, they doing it. They're like, we are the crime. What do you mean? How are we gonna stop it? When we are supposed to solve this crime?
Marie Boston
When we doing the crime, like, right? Olivia Benson would never. Okay, Elliot Stabler.
Lacey Mosley
Olivia Benson would never.
Marie Boston
But Olivia Benson and his cakes.
Lacey Mosley
Now, Elliot would beat up most of people. He did. And Law and order spu, you know, I told y'all, all the law and orders are propaganda. They are delicious, but they are.
Sydney Washington
You said propaganda. Wait, why explain to us.
Lacey Mosley
Because it's indoctrinating the public to be on the police side when they make illegal decisions. Because it's always skewed. And like, this is in the pursuit of justice. So it's okay that we beat up these innocent people or these people that we have no probable. Like, we have no. They're not convicted. They're not in the middle of doing a crime. We just beat they ass because we feel like they might be doing crime, which then enables. It changes the way that people think. So when you see black folks getting attacked by the police over routine traffic stops and stuff, you always victim blame, like, what did they do? What were they wearing? You don't go to like, why was this police officer beating up a stranger? That they don't know. And that was not in the middle of committing any violent act. That. But that's where copaganda comes from. Because whenever you see a vigilante movie and somebody taking the law into their own hands and stuff, it starts to change your brain framing of what is acceptable socially. And that is what these television shows do. So as much as I love me some Olivia Benson and Elliot Staber with his cakes, like, Elliot Staber was out here, caked out, booty cheeked up on a Thursday, beating the shit out of strangers on the street. And that shit wasn't right.
Marie Boston
We were like, staler, better be his ass.
Lacey Mosley
We were like, beat his ass, beat his ass.
Sydney Washington
But you know what?
Lacey Mosley
You know what?
Sydney Washington
As much as I love Lauren or svu, how many fucking seasons are we gonna deal with rape? Okay, y'all cut.
Lacey Mosley
That's all they do. That's a special victim senior girl. You was waiting for them not to do that.
Marie Boston
That's what they do over there, literally called svu. There's.
Sydney Washington
I know.
Marie Boston
Orders that don't do.
Sydney Washington
There's other law and orders, but that's what I'm saying. I'm like, this is the only. This is the longest running show.
Marie Boston
Watch the other one.
Sydney Washington
It's. No, but this is the longest running show that. It's like, we've heard it all. We've seen it all. How many, how many scenarios have we remixed? Like the college scenario, like when they.
Lacey Mosley
Go, stop being cops.
Sydney Washington
Yeah.
Marie Boston
I would like to see them be nurses today. Sometimes. Sometimes they're in the courtroom. That's the, that's the law part.
Lacey Mosley
So, Eric Adams, background. Eric Adams is known for saying some wild stuff he posted on Instagram. New York City is the Tel Aviv of America and vice versa. Don't know what he means by that. He told. Which, like, Tel Aviv is in Israel.
Sydney Washington
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Don't understand what he means by that. We do give Israel a lot of money, so perhaps I, I, I'm, I'm not understanding. But he has this post here where he's like, doing a heart hand, and this is where he says, like, New York City is the Tel Aviv of America. Okay, girl? He told Vanity Fair the best concert he ever saw was when a light fell on a soul artist Curtis Mayfield and paralyzed him. He said that was the best concert he saw was when the light fell on Curtis Mayfield and paralyzed him.
Marie Boston
Sounds like he pushed the light over. That's what it's given.
Sydney Washington
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Did you push the light? And here's a clip of Eric Adams saying why he thinks New York is the greatest city in the world. So we have a little video.
D
This is a place where every day you wake up, you could experience everything from a plane crashing into our Trade center to a. A person who's celebrating a new business that's open. This is a very, very complicated city, and that's why it's the greatest city on the globe.
Lacey Mosley
You know, he said, range.
Sydney Washington
We got range.
Marie Boston
He said, you might die here, and that's what makes it great.
Sydney Washington
Honestly. Don't worry, honey. If you're suicidal, New York is the place to be, because you probably are most likely gonna die here.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. You don't have to worry about doing it yourself. New York will do it for you. And that's why we're the greatest city in the world. I have never seen someone spend 911 in the.
Marie Boston
On September 25th. So 911 had just happened, and then he was like, it's at the front of my brain. And I didn't prepare for this interview.
Lacey Mosley
Let me tell you, what other city in the world is planes crashing into the buildings. Think about that.
Marie Boston
He also called New York the Haiti of the world. He just, he keeps calling New York the. The blank of the blank. And no one is calling the Tel Aviv of the world. There already is a Tel Aviv.
Lacey Mosley
He said, baby, what do you mean?
Sydney Washington
He said, listen, this is the equation. This is the formula. I'm using it over and over and over again.
Lacey Mosley
He's like, whoever I'm around, whatever their ethnicity is or wherever they're from, I'm gonna say, New York is the blank of that. New York City is the Ohio of the world. Like, what do you mean?
Marie Boston
Like, we already have an Ohio. We don't even like that.
Lacey Mosley
He said.
Sydney Washington
He said New York is the four plus four.
Marie Boston
That's what he's saying.
Lacey Mosley
So before he was the New York's most quotable mayor, he grew up in Brooklyn and in Queens, where he ran errands for hustlers in the Seven Crowns gang and worked as a squeegee man on Jamaica Avenue.
Marie Boston
He was in belly.
Lacey Mosley
I'm screaming, literally. So he had dirty ass water and was at the gas station squeegee in people's cars without their permission.
Sydney Washington
How was he in Brooklyn and Queens? Was he in Ridgewood? That's the only way.
Lacey Mosley
He's on the cusp.
Marie Boston
He was born in one. And they said, you know what? We need a squeegee guy in Queens. You got some time.
Lacey Mosley
So run it back, get on the train. Hop, hop on the queue and help us out. So at age 15, he was arrested after he and his brother stole from a sex worker who had failed to pay Eric back for errands he did for her while she was injured. There's so much there.
Marie Boston
While she was injured. Did he drop a light on her too?
Lacey Mosley
He might have dropped a light on her like he did Curtis Mayfield, which is his favorite concert.
Sydney Washington
Did you get this information from Wikipedia? Because it seems like his biggest hater, his biggest op was like, we're gonna write out his whole life.
Lacey Mosley
No, we don't use Wikipedia. It's not a real source.
Sydney Washington
It's not a real.
Lacey Mosley
It's not a real source. Tell your friends. Tell your friends. Anyone can write on Wikipedia, but there's just so many layers to this. At 15, he and his brother stole from a sex worker who was injured. I don't know if it was a worker stole, injury, workers comp situation. But she failed to pay them back for errands that he did while she was injured on the job. And I don't understand why they were now. Sex work.
Marie Boston
It sounds like. It sounds like a pimp hoe relationship. He did errands like he was protecting her while she was doing her sex work.
Sydney Washington
Wow.
Marie Boston
Eric Adams. What a mess. Please continue.
Lacey Mosley
So the arrested NYPD officers beat him, which inspired Adams to become a cop, joining the New York City Transit police at age 23. So after the police beat him up, he said, let me.
Sydney Washington
If you can't beat them, join them.
Lacey Mosley
When they beat you. If you can't join them and then over fund them.
Marie Boston
If you can't beat them, join them and beat them again.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, if they beat you, then you also beat them. That's what it is. It's a beat on beat. A family that beats together beats together.
Lacey Mosley
A family that beats together, eats together. Okay, so he was like, y'all beating on me a little too good. I'm gonna join y'all. I'm gonna sign up. Because that beating really inspired me to beat on others. So he successfully transitioned to politics in 2006, first as a Democratic state senator and later as Brooklyn Borough president. As a former cop, he's always had a tough on crime attitude. Now, mind you, he was doing crime and then he got beat up by the police. This may be the first time in black history that somebody got beat by the police and was like, you know what? Y'all did a good thing. I'm gonna join you.
Marie Boston
I'm a. Yeah, you know what?
Sydney Washington
I've been needing my ass beat for so long.
Lacey Mosley
Thank you so much.
Marie Boston
Thank you for beating some sense into me. I too am on the force.
Sydney Washington
Thank you for beating my friend.
Lacey Mosley
My friend, doo doo doo. I'm the mayor now. So as a former cop, he's always had this tough on crime attitude. Here's a 2011 PSA where he demonstrates how parents can stop youth crime by searching their kids rooms for contraband. And here we have a video.
D
You can look at a jewelry box. A jewelry box of this nature. Maybe a simple.
Lacey Mosley
Maybe a simple jury box.
D
But if you look through it closely, you don't know what your child.
Lacey Mosley
Let's see what the kids hiding.
D
For instance, a gun. Look at picture frames behind them. Cast cameras.
Lacey Mosley
Try to picture frame what's.
D
What's taking place behind a picture frame. You can find bullets.
Lacey Mosley
That's right.
D
When your child bring in his popular knapsack with many different locations, look through it to see what exactly. It's not textbooks carrying in addition to.
Lacey Mosley
A Book something simple as a crack pipe.
D
Something simple as a. As a baby.
Marie Boston
A baby dog.
D
Could be just a baby doll, but also it could be a place where you could secrete, treat or hide drugs.
Lacey Mosley
It's a lovely pillow.
D
Button is a perfect invitation to hide.
Lacey Mosley
What'S in this pillow.
D
I felt something bumpy, I would reach in a gun. Just look and see what's inside your bookcases. It could be more than just books. Perfect place to hide cocaine.
Lacey Mosley
That's where you put it in your book.
Sydney Washington
I'm still not getting over secrete, sir.
Lacey Mosley
What?
Sydney Washington
You would just say anything up in there. And he's got the fucking Langston used music in the background. I can't. This is upsetting me and my homegirls.
Lacey Mosley
He could do a second take of this. Like he showed up, he did his.
Marie Boston
Little bump in that bump. And then he said, let's talk about baby dolls. Secreting.
Sydney Washington
And the crack pipes. Don't forget the crack pipes.
Marie Boston
He didn't show us anything like people would already. You see a box in your. In a room. You gonna open the box?
Sydney Washington
Yeah. You think that parents are not looking through any of all. Any through and everything of those things that you said.
Marie Boston
You lean on a pillow, when you get shot in, you gonna be like, it's a gun in there. Like.
Lacey Mosley
That'S the perfect place to put your gun is in a decorative pillow.
Marie Boston
Pillow from HomeGoods. That's a gun purse.
Lacey Mosley
Easy access too, because then you have to unbutton it. You like, hold on, criminal. I gotta unbutton my home goods pillow and then go behind my picture frame and get the bullets and then put em in the gun and then grab a baby doll. So. Cause I don't want you to be secreting the drugs out of it. Those are my drugs to sell and do.
Sydney Washington
Girl, I'm gonna pull up on you and secret my gun right on you.
Lacey Mosley
Okay.
Sydney Washington
The way my gun secretes. Bitch, you don't want none of this.
Marie Boston
You put it on the baby's back like.
Lacey Mosley
So. To be fair, the word secrete means both to hide and to release. That is not the colloquial term secrete. And we all know that.
Sydney Washington
We've never used secret like that.
Marie Boston
That's how they talk about secreting Queens. That's so Queens.
Sydney Washington
That's not. That's definitely not a Brooklyn secretion at all.
Lacey Mosley
No. If. If somebody was like, I was buying weed and the baby doll secreted it, I would think it was like squirting it out. Like. No squirting out the Nugs. No, no.
Sydney Washington
Maria absolutely secreted. Earlier today when I went to the.
Lacey Mosley
Bodega, I was like, bow, bow, bow, bow.
Marie Boston
That's that baby doll.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. Yes. Robbery and fraud. So Adams may not seem like a parenting expert, but he is a father. His 29 year old son, Jordan Coleman was once an intern at the Late show with Stephen Colbert, worked for Roc Nation and appeared on an Albanian talent show as the rapper J. O performing his song Itsy Bitsy. Let's hear Itsy Bitsy from Jo. Also, like, it's not giving father, because why does he not have your last name? It's giving mom had the baby at the hospital and you were not there to sign the birth certificate. That's what it's giving.
Marie Boston
You know what it's given.
Lacey Mosley
Okay. The beat coming.
Sydney Washington
Twerk that ass and shake them titties.
Lacey Mosley
I support it.
Sydney Washington
She gorgeous still. She gotta stay committed. She would miss this life.
Lacey Mosley
Okay, we can pause.
Marie Boston
That's enough out of him.
Lacey Mosley
EC Bissy. Gotta shake them ass and titties. What's the his dick spider?
Sydney Washington
I don't know, bro, but I'm playing that later. That's where I need to go when I go secrete. When I'm about to go secrete, I'mma play that dj, play that trap.
Marie Boston
And he went to Albania to do that.
Lacey Mosley
They wasn't going to let him do that. Over here we don't have much for standards, but I guess Itsy Bitsy is where we draw the line.
Sydney Washington
Girl, you ain't movie got me in.
Lacey Mosley
They probably loved it over there. They're like itsy Bitsy.
Marie Boston
Did you know they was in Albania?
Lacey Mosley
Like asuntitis? Yeah, everybody movement. Yeah, very much that. So from 2014 to 2021, Adam served as Brooklyn Borough President and had a number of dubious mentees, including one of my faves. I actually went to the prison that this man is at this summer.
Sydney Washington
Oh, wow.
Lacey Mosley
So when you watch Scam Goddess, there is an episod about Bishop Lamour Whitehead. And Bishop Lamor Whitehead would always say that Eric Adams was his homeboy. They have several photos together. Eric Adams says he don't really know her like that, but you know, from 2014 to 2021, allegedly when he was Brooklyn Borough president. You know, Pastor Gucci. Lamor Whitehead was one of his mentees. Which tells you something.
Marie Boston
Pastor Gucci tells me everything I need to know, baby.
Sydney Washington
Everything I need to know. I know he's wearing the slides too. He could the name, the shoes, gotta match the truly.
Lacey Mosley
I mean, you saw the teasers like when one of our guests was, like, the pastor was pimping the congregation. That was Bishop Lamor Whitehead. So. And if you haven't seen that teaser, it's on both of my pages. So Adams is mayor. Adams was elected mayor of New York City, where anything can happen, including you dying in 2021. During the primaries, reporters uncovered Adams financial disclosures were incomplete. And Adams blamed his accountant. He said, I had an accountant who was homeless.
Sydney Washington
Wait, what? Wait, was the accountant homeless when he found him? He was an accountant and became.
Marie Boston
Where was the accountant storing his calculator if he was without a home girl.
Lacey Mosley
That's why he says some of the financials blew away in the wind because he didn't have a filing cabinet.
Sydney Washington
The account.
Lacey Mosley
He was living at the D train.
Sydney Washington
The accountant had all the papers in. In his car in a bag, and then his partner threw it away. No.
Marie Boston
That's what I hate.
Lacey Mosley
Comedians. Not having to call back. Call back. I'm hurt. So he goes on to say, I let. He's talking. This is Eric Adams talking about his accountant. He said, I let him continue to do his job even when he lived in a homeless shelter. And because of that, it caused him to make some bad decisions. So, Eric Adams, your accountant's homeless. I know. You gotta pay your accountant, like, something. I have to pay my accountant very much things, very much monies. You then think, like, let me help my accountant out. Like, he's in charge of my bookkeeping. I could go to prison.
Sydney Washington
He said, I'm gonna give you.
Marie Boston
It's not money.
Lacey Mosley
It's. What kind of excuse is this?
Sydney Washington
Because it's like, imagine your accountant needs, like, wi fi or, like, a laptop, and it's like, hey, it got stolen in the shelter. Like, what? He's like, well, you got to go to the library and finish this paperwork, because if you want to get right and then send me, you gotta go.
Lacey Mosley
To Starbucks to finish.
Marie Boston
His accountant was Will Smith in Pursuit of Happiness. And Eric Adams said, that's. So Eric Adams said, can I venmo you? I know you don't have a phone right now, but it's in there. I sent.
Lacey Mosley
I feel like Eric just had watched Pursuit of Happiness and was like, ooh, they asked about my financials. My accountant got a son and a briefcase.
Marie Boston
I'm sorry, but I can't not see the parallels between Trump and Eric Adams. Eric Adams is like. Other than that, Eric Adams is like the hood version of Trump the timu to be Trump.
Lacey Mosley
Cuz everything he's a TV troll.
Marie Boston
Everything he's doing. Trump also did.
Lacey Mosley
Except for Trump started with a leg up because, you know, his family did actually have money.
Marie Boston
Eric Adams had to go to Queens.
Lacey Mosley
And they had the kind of evil money that made them so ugly and their hair so weird that you just knew they did so many murders.
Marie Boston
The uglier the billionaire, the worse the pest.
Lacey Mosley
Cause you can't be cute and hot and a murderer. Okay, name one hot millionaire.
Marie Boston
Ready? Go.
Sydney Washington
Ooh, Rihanna.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
Beyonce.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
But Beyonce's not a billion.
Marie Boston
Not yet.
Lacey Mosley
It's, like, combined with her husband. And we're talking about assets that aren't liquid. I'm talking about somebody who got it.
Sydney Washington
Okay.
Marie Boston
You know, somebody who'd be like.
Lacey Mosley
Who, like, literally can go to all their Cayman accounts, the Swedish accounts, and, like, the billion adds up versus, like, we have equity that is worth a billion. Because that's what they be doing that for. That Forbes, they'd be like, okay, well, my couch is worth at least a hundred thousand. Like, they be adding everything up and then be like, my businesses are worth this. And they're like, I'm a billionaire. But it's like, what's in the bank account. Right?
Marie Boston
Okay. Thank you. Thank you.
Lacey Mosley
So after he took office in 2022, Adams filled his administration with former NYPD buddies and people from his orbit, including hiring his brother Bernard to run mayoral security at a salary of $210,000 a year before an ethics board made him drop the salary to $1. So he hired his brother, and he was taking care of his people. He said 220,000 to take care of my security because he know he needs security. And I want to say that actually is good, because these CEOs now that are so shook after the CEO assassination are now putting out job applications for security paying, like, $79,000 a year. You don't even really want to pay to live. $79,000 a year. That's before tax to keep you to take a bump like you want to die, babe. Stepping back. I'm stepping back. You make millions of dollars a year. You need to go ahead and throw at least 500k at that. If you want me to, like, great. Like, get a graze of a bullet or something. Cause as soon as the shooter step out, I'm gonna be thinking about the tax adjustment and how I'm really only making, like, 55. And then, you know, with bills and living in New York, like, I'm a step back.
Marie Boston
In actuality, I'm only walking around with $50,000.
Lacey Mosley
I'm gonna be like, he's got a gun. I'm just gonna be the crier. I'm gonna be a town crier.
Marie Boston
Like, I'm gonna be the person who takes the it in court.
Lacey Mosley
If you live to the authorities for you, you know, you need somebody to do that. So as a mayor, he cut the budgets of most regulatory agencies while upping the budget for the nypd. Mind you, this is New York City, so regulatory agencies are paramount. You know, we need people cleaning the streets. We need people. You know, we need the electricity doing what it needs to do. We need Con Edison and check. We need these agencies. And he was like, let's cut all that back and give it to the police so that they can beat on more brown people. Adams reintroduced a plainclothes police unit that had been disbanded, empowered subway cops to open fire on turnstile jumpers, and vowed to eliminate the squeegee men he once found himself.
Marie Boston
Wow.
Sydney Washington
Wow.
Marie Boston
This is peak. This is peak. I get in the door and I.
Sydney Washington
Shut it behind me.
Lacey Mosley
When I say Mayor Eric Adams took that ladder and he raveled it up real quick.
Sydney Washington
He said, I pulled myself up by the bootstraps, and then I burned the boots. Not be following me, you won't be.
Lacey Mosley
Follow me, follow me. And, like, plainclothes cops are so dangerous. The ones in the uniform are dangerous. So that's not something that we needed back. And we definitely. Why are you shooting people over a train fair? That is absolute insanity.
Marie Boston
It is.
Lacey Mosley
We're killing people because they're poor. But then you want poor people to make everything and be your slaves for the slave wages. What? What? What? This is counterintuitive. It's. It's. It's absolutely ridiculous. So he gave Diddy the key to the city. I love that. That rhymes. Last November. Then asked for it to be returned in June. They were both charged with crimes this past September. So here he is doing the love sign. And they are of the same ilk to me for sure. I'm not saying. I'm not alleging that Mayor Eric Adams was doing the things that Diddy was doing specifically, but they're both criminals, and, you know, New York born and bred criminals. And he gave him these keys. And then when the video started coming out and the evidence started coming out, he was like, hey, Diddy, we actually need you to run that key back.
Marie Boston
And Diddy was like, but they were.
Lacey Mosley
Both indicted, so it's like, how you gonna tell me to take the. Get you to keep it? You don't need the key either. Neither of us need the Key to the city.
Sydney Washington
Listen, listen. You know that. That meme with the spider man? That's like, you. No, you. You. They're both like, huh? That's them for sure. For absolutely sure.
Lacey Mosley
Why was he indicted? It is illegal for US Political candidates to take donations from foreign citizens. But Eric Adams tried to scheme his way around this. He's accused of routing foreign donations through US Citizens so the gifts would appear to be illegal. So he was like, you pass it to this a citizen, and then they pass it to me. And then all of a sudden, like. Which is kind of a laundering mechanism. Now it's legitimate. He also solicited matching public funds for donations from straw donors. A straw donor is a donor used to illegally funnel money from another source. He's accused of using straw donors to secure $10 million in public matching funds during both his mayoral campaigns. So both of the campaigns he was like, if y'all donate a little coin, then. And somebody's gonna match it. Don't worry. They are definitely a citizen. And don't worry who they are and how they matching it.
Sydney Washington
Don't worry about all that. Just know we matching.
Marie Boston
Just know we matching. Send the money.
Lacey Mosley
We're going ban for ban.
Marie Boston
Send the money. We'll figure it out.
Lacey Mosley
Right? We go. We going banned for euro. I mean, banned.
Marie Boston
He's gross.
Lacey Mosley
We're going banned for Kremlin. I mean, banned bans. Yeah, for ban. So in addition, Adams had a specific quid pro quo relationship with Turkey. In 2015, as Brooklyn Borough President, Adams received free business class tickets to Turkey from an entrepreneur there, which he reported to the Conflict of Interest Board. But while the trips continued, the reporting stopped. Initially, he was like, yeah, I took a couple of trips to Turkey. I just wanna let y'all know, I was just over at Istanbul. You know, I was a bull in Istanbul.
Sydney Washington
The way you say Istanbul, Istanbul, bull.
Lacey Mosley
Cause this is the New York way. You gotta be like, Istanbul. Cause he was a bull. You don't know that's New York slang for like a man. So he accepted a decade's worth of business class flights and luxury hotel stays worth more than a hundred thousand dollars from wealthy Turkish businessmen and at least one government official without disclosing them. So he kind of did that, like, I'll tell you a little bit of the truth. And then I'm gonna go run em up. He was getting flew out.
Sydney Washington
Oh, he is the. He was the original. He's a star tender.
Lacey Mosley
He's a city girl. He's a city boy, girl.
Marie Boston
City girl boy. Now how did he. How did he meet anybody in Turkey? How did, like, did he go to try to get his beard hairs filled in and then he met somebody?
Sydney Washington
Yeah, that's the upsetting thing. You go to Turkey and you don't get your hairline fixed. Like, come on, bro.
Lacey Mosley
Well, he bald, so he ain't even that.
Marie Boston
But maybe he was like, I want to be somebody with a swoop bang for the new year.
Lacey Mosley
But remember, he not the ba.
Sydney Washington
The ba.
Marie Boston
Uh.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, Mayor Adams. So maybe in the club. You know, he was always in the club. We all fam. He was always out and about. So who's telling? You know, New York is a very cosmopolitan city. There's always people from different countries there and dignitaries and foreign people. So I'm sure one of these mayoral turnips, he. You probably met these people.
Marie Boston
That's what happens when you're always outside. You meet other people who are outside, and then you get flown out of the country to do fraud.
Lacey Mosley
That's the steps. You go outside, you meet other people who are outside, and then you get flown out of the country to do fraud.
Marie Boston
Some of y'all wondering why I haven't met anybody? Why is it hard for me to do scams and fraud? Cause you not outside. Go outside, you might meet the crime of your life.
Lacey Mosley
And Marie has a very popular dating show, and so she knows what she's talking about. Okay?
Sydney Washington
She knows for sure.
Lacey Mosley
So Adams and his companions accepted a heavily discounted stay in the Bentley Suite of the St. Regis, Istanbul, worth more than $7,000, for which he paid less than $600. Look at this suite. This is nice. This is the living room of the suite that's bigger than most people's apartments.
Marie Boston
In New York, like, Miami.
Lacey Mosley
Like, the floors are marble. The couch is like some kind of, you know, ridiculous baby cow leather.
Marie Boston
It's baby cow for sure.
Lacey Mosley
It's infant cow leather. Okay. Kal didn't even learn to walk before it became a couch. And this is a really nice suite. It looks like it's got, like, floor to wall windows. Like, it definitely has those little buttons that move the curtains to close and open. No, but it's giving opulence.
Sydney Washington
No, it's giving default. It's like, oh, I got a nice. I got a nice suite, but. But it's like, there was no thought really into it. Like, it was kind of like, let's put some things together that make men think that this is wealth.
Lacey Mosley
So Sydney doesn't love the decor.
Sydney Washington
I don't.
Lacey Mosley
I'm saying I've seen nicer sweets.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, I have.
Marie Boston
Looking at this picture.
Lacey Mosley
I'm not saying it's the best, but it's.
Marie Boston
Looking at this picture, you can tell a man designed and put this together. No, no female interior designer would have done this.
Sydney Washington
No flowers. Look at the, look at the, look.
Lacey Mosley
At the pillows that were like, let's make them bloop. Like, what, what are we doing?
Marie Boston
It's giving that. It's giving. Rich with no taste.
Sydney Washington
Mm. That's exactly what it is in 2019. And actually that's an oxymoron. An oxymoron or like, that's repetitive, like rich with no taste. It'd be the same thing.
Lacey Mosley
I mean, some rich people have taste, but money can't buy you class. We know that. Elegance is learned, my friend. For the housewives, girlies. So in 2019, Adams returned to the St. Regis where he accepted a free two night stay in the Cosmopolitan Suite, a car service, a boat tour, a Turkish bath, and at least one meal at a high end restaurant. A Turkish bath? You say, is this somebody's birthday?
Sydney Washington
Somebody's birthday? This feels like birthday. A birthday trip.
Lacey Mosley
A birthday on a birthday.
Sydney Washington
Yeah. Birthday for your girl.
Lacey Mosley
Who knows? He traveled to India, China, Sri Lanka, France, Nepal and Hungary, all on Turkish Airlines business class. So, you know, that's when you get the bed that's reclining. You get the little. You might even get a little room. There might even be a bar on the airplane that you can go visit and kick it with. Like, you know, some of those airlines are like really cute. He flew through Istanbul so often that he started turning down free excursions, saying no to a cruise of the Bosphorus Strait because he had already done the boat tour a few times. So he was like, I already did that. Like, I don't even need to go over there no more because he said.
Marie Boston
They know me over there. I don't need to. What? What else you got?
Lacey Mosley
That's very boring to me. He traveled to Turkey often enough that he appeared as himself in the 2017 Turkish Rom com fairy tale in New York. So now he doing acting gigs.
Marie Boston
Shut up.
Lacey Mosley
And why is he in this movie? Definitely playing himself. Talking about the. His role was that he was a New York politician taking bribes from Turkish men. Not our imaging.
Sydney Washington
Yes, it's very meta. Very meta. He knew what he was doing.
Lacey Mosley
Let's play a little bit. Can he act? You're a good actor.
D
You guys are from Turkey. Brooklyn loves Turkey. Brooklyn is the Istanbul of America. We love your food, music, but I don't understand Turkish. We can take a selfie, though.
Lacey Mosley
Istanbul. Wait, why did he use his catchphrase? I thought that was improv. Because that. That's definitely his catchphrase. Not Brooklyn is the instan. Brooklyn is the Istanbul.
Sydney Washington
No Istanbul.
Marie Boston
He said, we love y'all in Brooklyn. No Istanbul. We love them in that girl.
Lacey Mosley
We don't hate things about em.
Marie Boston
We love your music. We love your food. I can't. I don't know a single Turkish song.
Lacey Mosley
We love your boat cruises. Everybody in Brooklyn every day be talking about the boat cruises. Cause that's really what it is. Dead ass.
Sydney Washington
And you know what? I just. I can't be mad. I can't be mad at Eric for really being as far as he's gotten, like. Because it's actually inspiring. You know what I mean? Like, he's. He's not good on. On or off paper. But still, I rise like, he's still a mayor. He's still an honor.
Lacey Mosley
He says, still, I scammed.
Sydney Washington
And so we kind of just need to live our. Our. Our lives. Like Mr. Adams, I think, why does.
Lacey Mosley
The caged bird scheme. Think about that.
Marie Boston
Why did this cage bird scheme is so good?
Sydney Washington
I might get that tatted on my neck.
Lacey Mosley
Think about that.
Sydney Washington
I might get that tatted on my neck.
Lacey Mosley
So Adams had his staff create a fake paper trail to pretend he was actually paying for the trips. In one case, he sent an email to his scheduler saying he left her cash in her desk drawer to reimburse Turkish Airlines for a trip worth more than $10,000. But he not leave the cash. In another case, the staffer asked a Turkish Airlines official via text to charge him a sum that could conceivably be considered an appropriate price for a plane ticket. The airline official suggested $50, which the staffer rejected. The airline official responded, how much should I charge? Question mark, smiley face.
Marie Boston
Wait. The airline that he wasn't paying for said a reasonable price for a business class ticket was $50.
Lacey Mosley
So he started by emailing his staff and being like, hey, I left 10k in the drawer for that 10k ticket. Which he did not leave the 10k. He's just trying to make a paper trail, right? So that when they call asking, he'd be like, I left the 10k and my staffer. And I don't know why the staffer didn't realize, like, once they realized the money wasn't paid, he was gonna throw your ass under the bus and say, you were homeless. She's homeless, and that's why she didn't give the $10,000. Homeless, homeless, homeless. So then he had the staffer, like, in contact with an airline official from Turkish Airlines. And he was like, hey, reach out to them and ask them, like, to charge me for the ticket that I paid. Obviously, he doesn't want to be charged the real amount. And so the airline official who knows that, you know, Eric Adams is a grifter, they know him over there, okay? The airline official was like, oh, hey, boo. Okay, I can charge $50. Winky Wink. And the staffer was like, okay, that's not enough. And then the airline official was like, well, how much do you want me to charge? Because obviously we not charging a real price. So winky, winky, smiley face in the text. And, you know, you scheme in Turkish Airlines. If y'all talking via. I ain't never talked to no airline official via T. No.
Sydney Washington
Everything should be via email. It should be on the. On the hotmail. It should be on the dot org, like, what is going on?
Lacey Mosley
I know when that Hotmail bling. Wait, so they know I'm not doing those games.
Marie Boston
So they were trying to leave a paper trail, but they did it over text or email.
Lacey Mosley
They did some over email where he was emailing the staff, like, I left you the cash to pay for this. And then they did some. The staffer did some via text, like, hey, can you send us this invoice so that we can pay for this ticket? So in exchange for all these travel perks, Adam pressured the fire department to open the Turkish consulate building in Manhattan in time for a visit from Turkey's president, even though the building didn't pass fire inspection. So the building wasn't up to code. This was a fire hazard. But Turkey was like, can you tell them, like, don't worry about no little fire or whatever. This is New York City. Sometimes you die in a fire. Like, let them open the building. So Eric was putting that pressure on them to open the building because of all his free flights and boat trips. An FDNY official was told he would lose his job if he didn't open the building. So they said, do you wanna open the building or do you wanna open an unemployment application? Like, those are your choices. So, other probes. Adam's administration is also the subject of four more federal probes involving over a dozen current and former staff members. The one probe we'll mention here involves Adam's ex chief of staff, Frank Caron. Frank Caron is under investigation for shady business dealings with Pastor Jamie G. Guntelia.
Marie Boston
I can't trust A man of God who teeth look like that. That's.
Sydney Washington
Stop it.
Marie Boston
Yeah, God don't like.
Lacey Mosley
We prayed for crest. Right? Strips and delivered.
Sydney Washington
So whatever God he's into, don't believe in dental. I am upset, baby. That is.
Lacey Mosley
But you know what, though? If you're going to keep people off your heels by stealing money, you can't have like a tricked out brain.
Sydney Washington
You can't. Oh, yeah, you can.
Lacey Mosley
He might be onto something.
Sydney Washington
Keep it jamur. Keep it mind.
Lacey Mosley
Keep it very, very mindful. He on the PJ with the yuck mouth, but he on the pj.
Sydney Washington
Yeah, you might be right on that. You're right.
Lacey Mosley
Like, he would be like. I'm not embezzling.
Sydney Washington
Look at my mouth.
Lacey Mosley
Embezzlement.
Sydney Washington
Look at my pores. It seems like I am of the people. Yes. Of the people.
Lacey Mosley
The pores of the people. Of the people.
Sydney Washington
You're on it, Lacey. You're on it.
Lacey Mosley
The pastor faced disciplinary action from the church after allowing Sabrina Carpenter to film her racy feather music video in his Williamsburg church.
Marie Boston
She's the one who took him down.
Lacey Mosley
Now, why are we bringing my queen in? Why are we bringing my queen in? Serena Carpenter is an angel. Ooh, yes. Blasphemous.
Sydney Washington
Blasphemous. This is.
Marie Boston
That was shot in Brooklyn. I thought she was in Rome or something.
Lacey Mosley
No, apparently there's a very beautiful church in Williamsburg that Jamie G. Cantello is the priest of. And he let this happen because he was doing a shady business deal with Frank Caron, who is Eric Adams, ex chief of staff. So follow the red string on the board here.
Sydney Washington
It's all together.
Lacey Mosley
So Eric Adams, Frank Caron. Then we got our yuck mouth, Jamie Gigantelio, and then we got Sabrina Carpenter doing her racy, beautiful music video in a Williamsburg church.
Marie Boston
Church.
Sydney Washington
It's all connected.
Lacey Mosley
So. Which obviously the church was like, up in arms. I don't know why Sabrina's a baddie. I love me some espresso. Me espresso. The week of Adam's indictment, here's what Carpenter said on stage during her concert at Madison Square Garden. Oh, damn.
Sydney Washington
What?
Lacey Mosley
Now?
Sydney Washington
If she gives this man a shout out. If she gives this man a shout out.
Lacey Mosley
Sabrina, should we talk about how I.
Sydney Washington
Got got the mayor indicted or.
Lacey Mosley
And then the music started.
Sydney Washington
She a mess. I love that and I like her short and sweet she could do any she can do no wrong in my.
Lacey Mosley
Book I was already liking and I might have to stand up. I'm not a Stan But I might have to get on my Feet for a second. Because Sabrina, that was iconic. She said, what now? I guess. Should we talk about how I got the mayor indicted? And then the music was like, dear, dear, dear. She said, 1, 2. I got the mayor indicted. 3.
Marie Boston
LOL.
Lacey Mosley
Like, 1, 2. He going to jail. Like, what? Not. Oh, my. 1. He going to jail.
Marie Boston
3.
Lacey Mosley
Let's get this show started on me. Espresso.
Marie Boston
It's crazy how it's all connected.
Lacey Mosley
I love it. It's all connected. Maybe the conspiracy theorists are right. Do I have tin foil on my head now? Maybe I'm gonna get some. I'm gonna get some Reynolds, and I'm gonna put it in my band. So standing strong. We're wrapping up here. Many have called for Eric Adams to step down as mayor, but he said he's gonna step up instead. He's gonna dance.
Sydney Washington
How can I be down when I'm always up?
Lacey Mosley
Okay, that sounds like a Glorilla verse. He says, sun says the sun don't shine. That's why I love tomorrow.
Marie Boston
Literally.
Sydney Washington
Okay.
Lacey Mosley
He said, at the end of the day, the day goes in and I'm still gonna be mayor.
Sydney Washington
He said, my soul got Viagra in it. Come on, stand up. Attention.
Marie Boston
He said, at the end of the day, the day gonna end, but my tenure won't. So, hey.
Lacey Mosley
Amen. A scam. Okay. He pled not guilty to the charges and made multiple appearances at houses of worship where he leaned on the support of church leaders, including Reverend Al Sharpton.
Sydney Washington
Not my brother in Ozempic. What's up?
Lacey Mosley
Yes. He said, my brother. My brother in Zimpy. And Eric is quoted saying, sometimes you have to let go and let God.
Sydney Washington
And. And. And. And Eric was like, sometimes I run sometimes. Sometimes I'm scared of you.
Lacey Mosley
He says, sometimes you have to let go and let fraud. I meant God. God. I meant God.
Marie Boston
Let go of. Let go of what?
Lacey Mosley
We fall down, but we scam up.
Sydney Washington
Stop it. I love that.
Lacey Mosley
For a saint is just a schemer who fell down. I could go on. That was for the church, girlies.
Sydney Washington
That's merch. Can you put that? I want to see the church.
Lacey Mosley
He might sue me. So he said, you know, he giving it to God. Adams told parishioners at a Bronx church, when people say, you need to resign, I say, I need to reign. He said, well, you said, you need to resign. Go ahead and take out. That s. Because I need to reign. Okay. Amen. So Adams himself faces up to 45 years in prison for his crimes if convicted. But he insists this is him insisting I Am innocent. And I will fight this with every ounce of my strength. Strength and spur. With his political future in doubt, Adams has opened the door to returning to the Republican Party and has even begun embracing President elect Donald Trump and some of his policies. It's speculated that Adams is thirsty for a presidential pardon. One member of Trump's transition team even joked. It's kind of embarrassing, isn't it? How long until the actual begging and love letters start?
Marie Boston
Yo, they said he's giving Tiger King. They said he's giving that energy. But yeah, he wants to be pardoned because he's not. He's not sorry and he don't want to go to jail for no 45 years.
Lacey Mosley
Sydney pegged it.
Sydney Washington
She said, he's like, Trump and Eric said it's tough. He's like, he's like, it's time to be with the Republicans. It's time to be with Trump. It's the only way. He's like, I gotta, if I'm gonna get in, I gotta get in with the bad guys. Cuz he's already bad.
Lacey Mosley
He's already bad. And his policies that he enacted in New York are already that of Republicans, like, more protect and serve, more harass and kill, you know, so it's not like he's ever really been a Democrat. He just had to run on D because in New York, you not getting elected on R. So, you know, he just was like, I'm black and I'm a Democrat. He, he kind of don't look too hard. Just see me at the club, don't see what I'm writing in the law. Okay? So for me, this is a pivot that he's already kind of made in policy and it makes sense because, like, if we already have a convicted felon president, he's like, let's have a convicted felon New York mayor. I think Trump would do this pardon just because, I mean, he pardoned Lil Wayne, right? You know, like, why wouldn't he pardon Eric Adams, the mayor of New York City?
Marie Boston
Yeah, I could see him doing it. I can also see him not doing it.
Lacey Mosley
Trump is very much like quid pro quo. He's like, what's in it for me? But since Trump has properties in New York and has interest in things in New York, tax wise, he might be up for it.
Marie Boston
Yeah.
Sydney Washington
I feel like Trump and Eric Adams have to play Fortnite for a couple of days in a row and then he'll make a his decision.
Lacey Mosley
All Eric Adams got to do is put on one of them hat, like Trump is so vain. Like, if he gets anybody who likes him. If Trump can call, like two celebrity friends who aren't ugly and they'll endorse Trump, Trump will be like, this is great. This is amazing. All the sexy celebrities love me. Wait, did you.
Sydney Washington
Hold on. You said that Trump is vain? Yeah, looking. Looking like a melted stick of butter. You said he's vain?
Lacey Mosley
Baby, he thinks he looks good. He rubbed that orange on every day and he thinks that it looks. Looks good. He got a little bit of the dysmorph and he thinks it looks good with a T. Good, period.
Sydney Washington
I'm shaking my damn head.
Lacey Mosley
Closing thoughts here about Eric Adams and.
Marie Boston
What'S going to happen to him.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. What do you think?
Marie Boston
You know, I saw him. He was speaking of him being everywhere all at once. They were like, renaming my street and Eric Adams was outside my house.
Lacey Mosley
No, no. Did you run?
Marie Boston
I was in the window like this.
Sydney Washington
Marie, you trying to be first lady of scams? What's up?
Marie Boston
Not if we gonna have children together. That rap like that.
Lacey Mosley
That's her only caveat to this.
Marie Boston
Yeah, my baby needs to have bars.
Sydney Washington
Oh, my God.
Lacey Mosley
I feel like you could bring the bars to the genetics. You know, I thought I saw a photo of Marie with Eric Adams giving a thumbs up.
Marie Boston
If anything, I was going like this. I hit him with the gladiator. Thumbs down.
Lacey Mosley
Marie, you know your podcast, both Yalls podcasts are amazing, and your podcast has been doing amazing. You've been international with it. And like, I was wondering, like, what, like, what really shot it up to the top. And, you know, I know it's your hard work and how hilarious you are, but it might also be your relationship with Eric Adams, because I saw you on Turkish Airlines.
Marie Boston
Yeah, girl, I was in one of the pods. We closed the door on the plane when we sat down.
Sydney Washington
I can't believe.
Lacey Mosley
No, those shades didn't fool me. The shades and the head wrap and the jacket didn't fool me.
Marie Boston
Yeah, the ladies had the little red wrap on the flight attendants, you know? Or is that Qatar? It doesn't matter.
Sydney Washington
That's Qatar, friend. But that's Qatar. I'm not mad at you for that.
Lacey Mosley
I'm not mad at you for that. Sydney, closing thoughts.
Sydney Washington
It just reminds me of, like, you know, we did say that, oh, if we have evil white people, black people are, like, allowed to be evil. But no, no, not like this. Eric is too sloppy with it.
Lacey Mosley
That's equality.
Sydney Washington
He's too sloppy with it. If you are going to be like, oh, I'M gonna be just as bad as a. As a white man. It's like, be better. Like, he's too sloppy and messy with it, and it's just like, how could anybody look at Eric Adams and be like, I trust him. I trust him with my city. I trust him with finances, with documents. Nothing about him looks trustworthy. Not his suits.
Lacey Mosley
That Cheshire.
Sydney Washington
Not his suits, not his shoes. Not even the way he pronounces New York. I want no parts. And the fact that he's been able to, you know, gallivant around my city freely and then have his name connected, it's. It's actually embarrassing. I think I need. I. I might even have to go to Philly. I might have to do Philly or Boston.
Marie Boston
You're moving?
Lacey Mosley
No, you don't leave.
Sydney Washington
I'm gonna have to do Rhode Island. Someplace where there's dignity, respect.
Lacey Mosley
Sydney Washington back there.
Marie Boston
Okay, girl?
Lacey Mosley
Okay. Sydney Washington is the New York Washington. Okay? You can't go anywhere. And I will say final thoughts. I think he's gonna skirt away from this. Skirt. Skirt. And I also believe that black people are not gonna let this slide, though. So he did a press conference right after he was indicted in a black neighborhood with black parishioners behind him. And there was a black man with a bullhorn who was like, you are not black. You don't represent us, cuz. He was like, being like, we have to gather my brothers and sisters to fight this ridiculous racism indictment. And they were like, this isn't racism.
Sydney Washington
You are saying that this is not a black guy.
Lacey Mosley
This is not a black guy thing. This is a you thing. This is a you thing, Eric Adams.
Marie Boston
This is not.
Lacey Mosley
Your policies are anti black. You are dis for all black people in this city. And I love that for us.
Marie Boston
Love it. Missed it. Want it.
Lacey Mosley
We're not supporting Yalls wrongs. We're not supporting your politician wrongs, okay? We support women's rights. We support women's wrongs. We do not support politicians wrongs. Okay? Y'all getting paid. We don't, and we're done with it.
Sydney Washington
But then the election system says we do. Like, not us.
Lacey Mosley
I don't. I'm not.
Sydney Washington
We don't, but they do. That's what I'm saying. It's like after. After seeing the. The chart and seeing who voted and seeing the map, it's like, oh, damn, I got this all up. I got it all wrong. I don't know what. I don't know anymore. I have no clue.
Lacey Mosley
I predict after the inauguration of 45 that Eric Adams will be. You know, all these charges are gonna somehow disappear, and he's gonna turn on Mary J. Blige. Like, I won't take my life, my life. Just, fine, fine, fine, fine, fine. He gonna be dancing in the club, and he's gonna be getting bottle service and having his Hennessy Kool Aid wings and all the watermelon hookah he wants watermelon hookah for sure. And, you know, I don't love that for us. I don't know if I love it for him, but I just know that that's probably.
Sydney Washington
He's definitely gonna have Remy VSOP on tap. It's gonna be overflowing. Lots of rocks. Glasses with no rocks in it.
Lacey Mosley
So he might have figure out how to find some Sir Davis. It's not gonna come directly from Beyonce, but, like, the straw, you know, like, he was doing his straw.
Sydney Washington
Honestly, if he gets a hand.
Lacey Mosley
His hand, he gonna get it from somebody else.
Sydney Washington
Get his hand on some Sir Davis. I do believe that the Hive will take him down, down. So maybe he does need to do that. I think they want no affiliation with him, so he actually should be caught with it so they could take him down.
Lacey Mosley
He needs to offend the Swifties because they will mobilize, okay? They got geolocation. They got all the nuclear codes, and, like, we just need him to insult Tay Tay one time, and we could get him up out of here.
Marie Boston
Oh, my God. I can't believe.
Lacey Mosley
Thank y'all for being on this podcast and bringing very New York energy that I needed for this. I held this episode just. Just for y'all, Lacy. And so I'm so glad we did it.
Sydney Washington
I think we might even have to dethrone bacon, egg, and cheese, because what is my city? What is my city? You know, our mayors suck. We can't get in apartments now. And, you know, everything reminds me of, like, I should be moving, and I might. I just might, bitch, I might be.
Lacey Mosley
That's a lot you already know. So, Cindy, where would you go? Where you.
Marie Boston
Exactly.
Sydney Washington
Where are they going to? Just take two months of bank statement.
Lacey Mosley
Where are you going to go two months of.
Marie Boston
I don't know, sis. Maybe Turkey. You going to Istanbul?
Lacey Mosley
If you can't go to Bella, where can you go? Thank you. So we always ask at the end of this podcast, and I've been talking about, why are you single? When I say, like, Marie's dating show. So, like, it's. It's amazing. Obviously. Mess is also fantastic. I saw y'all on Las Culturistas loved it. And. And I'm praying for y'all. Cause of the content. So y'all go look to see why I'm praying for them on their pages. But plug anything and everything that you got coming out and up that people can see you, because y'all need to. Marie Boston
Yeah, you gotta listen to Mess on all platforms where podcasts pop up. Hopefully Eric Adams is listening to Mess in Jail. Is he in jail?
Sydney Washington
No, he's outside. He's outside.
Lacey Mosley
He's being the mayor.
Sydney Washington
But I heard they're listening to podcasts in jail as well, so he. You know, when. If he ever gets inside there, I. I would still hope that he would stay. Stay strong with us.
Marie Boston
