Scams cause robbery and Frau Scam. Cause robbery and Fraud.
Lacey Mosley
What's Poppin Congregation? Welcome to another installment of Scam God. It's the podcast that's all about robbery and fraud and cons and you and me, honey. Guys, I'm. What? Say it with me. I'm so. What? Excited. Yes. Very excited for this guest. I really am, because y'all know I've been trying to scam to get this guest on the show slowly but surely. And I made it there. I did. We did it, guys. We did it, Joe. We did it. She's currently writing for one of the. Oh, my God. When this show comes out, it's gonna be one of the hottest shows rap, another production, another Issa joint, which we love to see. And she's also one of the. What do we call? Leads stars of podcasts she hosted. I'll say that. Keep it, which I love so much. And if you guys. You know, Ira has been out. He's a friend of the show. He's been on the show two times, so I was so excited to get her and her spicy hot takes. And also, if you're not following her on Twitter, shut up, Aida, which is spelled like shut up and then aid a. So as you can already tell, it's Aida Osman. Hi. Hello.
Aida Osman
I'm so excited to be here. Geeked even.
Lacey Mosley
I'm so excited to have you, sis.
Aida Osman
Oh, woo.
Lacey Mosley
It's about to be a good ass time.
Aida Osman
No, we're gonna have so much fun. So much fun will be had today.
Lacey Mosley
So wait a. What's your relationship with scams like? Have you ever been scammed? Do you like them? Do you hate them? It could be anything.
Aida Osman
I can't believe all the guests that you had on here have talked about being. Being scammed or their relationships are scammed and you about to have me incriminate myself.
Lacey Mosley
What crimes have you done? And can you listen?
Aida Osman
First of all, you are talking to a. A true criminal, a reformed criminal, if anything. Girl, I'm from. I'm from Nebraska, which everybody's so sick of me reiterating, but I'm sorry, it defines most of who I am. And in Nebraska ain't shit to do but drugs and crime, bro. That's all he was doing. And I feel like my relationship to scamming is I used to do some credit card skimming back in the day. Back in early. That was before the chips, though. Chips came in. Like, fuck my whole shit up. But this is when I was. I was like in high school and working at a diner and my friend's big brother was like, dark web 4chan scammer, nigga. We are problematic. No, we are. And it was my job and my, my, my homegirl's job, his little sister to just like get credit card numbers and send it his way. And then we would just collect and never think about it ever again. Because we worked at a diner, so we had high traffic. Like, just put the. Scan the card, then put it in the skimmer, put it in the reader and just go on your married business on your tips. So.
Lacey Mosley
And everything on this podcast is alleged. Okay, These are not confessions exactly. Like, a lot of this is made up. It's for entertainment. So I don't know what Aida got going on. Okay. But I love this for you. Diner is a perfect place because it's such high traffic and people are in and out. People are really like, checking like that. I also love that you said, like, in Nebraska, all y'all had to do was drugs or crime. So when like, the dear lion came to your school and was like, y'all don't do drugs, she was like, okay, bet. I will not choose drugs. I will choose crime. Okay? I happy. Okay. He's somewhere around for you right now.
Aida Osman
Excited, excited to do so excited and you know what the funny thing was too, is my boss caught me doing the skimming. Like I almost got fired. And here's the other thing. The only reason why she couldn't fire me was because I caught her doing meth in the morning before her shift.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, that's the mayor.
Aida Osman
Oh, no.
Lacey Mosley
God damn.
Aida Osman
Yo, I'm telling you, Nebraska is a place where people's like livelihoods and souls could really truly go to die. Especially working at a diner job downtown and then like a hodunk town. So we both had some dirt over each other and she just. We had to maintain a working relationship.
Lacey Mosley
I love a mutual scammer agreement. It was like. Well, you know. Well, actually it was like she was the one who. When the dare lion say, y'all don't do meth, she said, look, I won't do crime, but I will do meth.
Aida Osman
Exactly. We are both sides. Both sides of the scales had to be represented. But I want to tell your listeners that I have since stopped scamming. Like I work at HBO now. I'm okay. I don't need to do that, right?
Lacey Mosley
This is the Jay Z come up. You know, you can rap about it, what they gonna say, but like we have job jobs. Okay? You were at the H, the B and the O, working with the queens and the kings and the non binary royalty. And we live this for you. Okay, let's get into our first segment here. What is hot in fraud? Man, Aida, you already got me. Cause you talking spicy. I'm ready, girl.
Aida Osman
Yeah, you better talk your shit. This is the rated R podcast. This is the one that you listen to after hours. This is not for the light of heart, right?
Lacey Mosley
Even though people listen to this first thing in the morning. We had a pod recording right now on a Tuesday. So that's when we drop it. Came in a little late and the girls were all in my DMs and every. And in my tweets and everywhere like, hey, girl, where are things?
Aida Osman
Not. Not okay. Not scam goddess for breakfast. You need to reassess. You need to do some reassessing.
Lacey Mosley
You starting your day with me with robbery. The best part of waking up is scams in your cup.
Aida Osman
Oh my God, soldiers.
Lacey Mosley
Hire her. I'm not against it.
Aida Osman
Come on.
Lacey Mosley
Somebody told me, they were like, oh, you know my 11 year old son loves your podcast. I said, get your son, baby girl. Don't get him. Bring him over here. He's my son now, okay?
Aida Osman
He gonna be doing a bid before 16.
Lacey Mosley
Not if he listen good. Not if he listen good, he not gonna get caught, okay? I'm gonna take care of that baby. If he. If these are his interests. You have to nurture your children's interests.
Aida Osman
Yeah, it's about cultivating them at a young age.
Lacey Mosley
Exactly. So our first segment here was Hot and Fried. This is where we warn listeners about popping scams on the streets or more often than not. You guys know, if you listen to the show, I'll. Your listener letters. And as always, if you want to snitch on your friends and family, just make sure the scam is retired like Aida did. Don't up your bag, okay? That's scam goddess Pod gmail dot com. And our listener letter. Okay, I. I need a name. Like a fake name. We don't care. Gender don't matter.
Aida Osman
Jebedicius.
Lacey Mosley
I'm leaving. Where are things? This is where I exit. Jebedicius smiles. Jebedicius definitely does crime. Okay. But he, like, also goes to church every Sunday, and.
Aida Osman
Of course. And he played drums at the church, so, you know, he got, like, a good foundation, a good rhythm for his life.
Lacey Mosley
He does he pay his ties on the. On the scams, you know, so the Lord will keep blessing him.
Aida Osman
Exactly. That's how you balance it out for sure.
Lacey Mosley
So Jebedicia says, when I was in college and broke in all caps. Yes. Being the things I could do with $20 when I was in college. And now I'm like, what happened to me? Because now I'd be spending wild money on, like, dinner and. And I'm like, what happened to me? Because I used to make $20 work things stretch.
Aida Osman
Stretch. Like Simone Biles.
Lacey Mosley
Right.
Aida Osman
How come when you said that, I instantly went to. What's my name? Drake and, like, the things that I could do with $20, girl.
Lacey Mosley
Immediately, yes, we love some Drake. Drake is a scammer. All on his own.
Aida Osman
He's practically a Persian man. So, yeah, he is a scammer for sure.
Lacey Mosley
It was so funny because when Drake had his baby, all the black community was surprised that the baby looked Caucasian. And I was like, y'all know Drake is. His mama is white.
Aida Osman
Exactly.
Lacey Mosley
And he had a baby with a white woman. Like, y'all thought it was gonna come out with a. With a tennis ball haircut and a fade. And you know what?
Aida Osman
Drake is white until proven otherwise. I don't give a fuck what y'all say. I ain't never seen his daddy. Oh, wait, Yes, I have been. How. Don't do that.
Lacey Mosley
Drake is that his dad is very. I'VE been to the club and, like, next to me was Drake's dad. And I said, I need to get my life together because why am I over here with Drake Daddy?
Aida Osman
Like, a lot. I think it's a law of nature. Like, maybe you haven't seen Drake's daddy, but Drake's daddy has seen you. That's like Newton's fourth law of physics.
Lacey Mosley
That's just how it's because he's out here. Okay, When I tell you that man is out here. So this is when I was college and broke. I ran a scam that at the time seemed totally innocent. Concert venues, right? Of course it was innocent. Concert venues in my college town would give paying customers paper wristbands instead of tickets for the majority of the concerts that they had. After the shows, me, my friends would hang out and ask people for their wristbands when they came out. Over time, we had a collection of every color and pattern imaginable for the wristbands. We would then use these wristbands to attend concerts for free and bring our friends along. And it worked like a charm over time. I got cocky and finally got caught at a big music festival in the mountains.
Aida Osman
Not the mountains, bitch. Not the alpines. You doing crimes.
Lacey Mosley
You doing crimes. Times you do a crime of elevation, sis. Like, can't even really breathe good up there.
Aida Osman
Over there struggling in multiple ways.
Lacey Mosley
But I love the audacity. I love that you were like, oh, this is working here. Okay, let's take this to the mountains. Okay, we're going to Ibiza. We're going to.
Aida Osman
This is the Allterrain scammer. That's crazy.
Lacey Mosley
And we love that. For her, we do. Okay. I want every kind of tread. So. So basically, she got cocky. Big music festival in the mountains. My friend who took this scam to a new level was actually making fake wristbands for this three festival, and they were impressive. I joined and carefully copied the wristband details, even purchased a gift bag of the same color and texture to cut the wristband out of. For the glossy look. The final detail was gluing the little back snap on the back. At a quick glance, it would pass. Later that night, security was cracking down at the show, and at closer inspection, I was caught. I cried and claimed I bought the band for a hundred dollars from a hippie in the park. I went on to give a detailed description that would literally incriminate 90% of the male hippies at the show.
Aida Osman
I love this woman. She is actually in the streets doing.
Lacey Mosley
The work she's doing The Lord's work, truly. Okay, Scam daddy. Scam Sky Daddy. Where we praise him. So basically she said, I bought it for a hundred dollars from a white guy with dreads, a dog, and a Grateful Dead T shirt.
Aida Osman
Where was she at? Burning Man. Where was she? I'm trying to figure out.
Lacey Mosley
I feel like I didn't got no wristbands, right? Because they supposed to be all hippie ish, Right?
Aida Osman
Exactly. Y. Oh my God.
Lacey Mosley
You just.
Aida Osman
I feel like maybe red rocks. Do they have a festival? Why am I trying to figure out the location, right?
Lacey Mosley
Are you trying to go.
Aida Osman
I'm trying to find this man.
Lacey Mosley
So the police bought the story. Or maybe I got the cute girl pass and I was let go with a warning. I was so spooked that when I returned home, I gifted my coveted wristband collection, 50 plus wristbands to an underclassman friend and put my scamming days behind me. Oh, well, it was still working local. You could still do it for locals.
Aida Osman
Also, what a nice way for Jebedicius to slip in that she's fine by being like, I got the cute girl pass. I'm like, okay, bitch.
Lacey Mosley
Yes, you did.
Aida Osman
You better put that in the last paragraph for this letter.
Lacey Mosley
Right? She was like, also, I'm very sassy.
Aida Osman
And I think that helped me ultimately.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, just being sassy. So, you know, I'm just glad that God had blessed me with a sexy face and body. So I, I love this too, because the whole wristband thing, I actually did this once to Beyonce girl.
Aida Osman
What? What?
Lacey Mosley
How so it was All Star Weekend and I was at the 40Forty Club in New York.
Aida Osman
Okay.
Lacey Mosley
That's the one that Jay Z owned at the time. I don't know what they doing now. They always selling. But we went in and it's also, you know, All Star weekend is crazy because it's like where the girls go to get chose. They buy one way flights and then they do go fund me. Like, please help All Star hoochie make it back home to family.
Aida Osman
I didn't know it was that deep. And I want to partake like, oh.
Lacey Mosley
It'S, it's a thing. Because it's like that's the moment for all the cute girls across the country to interact with a baller that they would probably never meet because they don't know, you know, where the ball is at.
Aida Osman
So.
Lacey Mosley
But they know that they're at NBA All Star weekend. All types of balls. So they're like, we gotta go, you know, gotta make sure our BBL is fresh. And done.
Aida Osman
And yeah, we can take the faja off. I can dance, I can gyrate. Yes.
Lacey Mosley
You know, it's a big time for wigs because everybody needs the lace laid. And you know, it's a, it's a beautiful time for the club ratchet industry.
Aida Osman
So we. I know Boohoo gets so much money that weekend. Boohoo does.
Lacey Mosley
Eatin'fashion no.
Aida Osman
Blue. Yes.
Lacey Mosley
National holiday.
Aida Osman
Oh God. Oh God.
Lacey Mosley
Asos. And then back when American Apparel was happening.
Aida Osman
Oh, was running up a check.
Lacey Mosley
Everybody got high waisted shorts and, and thin little paper crop tops and they're going to do the work.
Aida Osman
She in for real, right?
Lacey Mosley
So Steve Madden was also getting a coin and you know, Jessica Simpson was too, because she makes those good shoes that are nice and high, you can run from the cops in them.
Aida Osman
So I still got Jessica Simpson suitcase somewhere in my closet. She was really doing the Lord's work again.
Lacey Mosley
When she hung up singing, I was like, jess, because this is your true calling. It's the footwear. You know what I mean?
Aida Osman
She did say boots were made for walking. Bitch, where are the boots? Make the boots, right?
Lacey Mosley
Make the boots so that we can walk in them. And she was like, here they go, here they go. You can walk in all of these and all these colors. So we go and we had went to a football game or some shit earlier, I don't even know what, but we have wristbands. And so when we got to 4040, we noticed that the VIP area, which is up these stairs, if you've ever been, there's like stairs where they almost like stadium seats. And so we go up and we realize that everyone in VIP is wearing a white wristband that has a black like 4040 emblem on it. So the wristbands that we had were colored, but if you flip them over because they were cheap, it was just white on the other side.
Aida Osman
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
So we just flipped them over and then cut it on by and like, you know, didn't show our wrist too much. And then got in and sure enough, Beyonce came and yes. And it was a frenzy. It was like we were sitting there with some rapper, singer, athletes, some.
Aida Osman
We.
Lacey Mosley
I don't even remember who they were. And I remember everyone just started running and I was like, okay, I'm black. You know, if everybody's running, I'm running too. And I'm gonna ask what's going on when I get there. So I'm just gonna run and you know, see what happens, right? So I ran with everybody and my girlfriends. We all Ran. And it was funny because one of my girlfriends took off running and didn't even say shit. She just was running. And I was like, bitch, where? All right, we running. And so we get over there, and it's Beyonce.
Aida Osman
No, they're running to something, not from something. Okay, now.
Lacey Mosley
And I didn' I didn't know if we were running to or from, but I was gonna run because that's the culture. That's the black culture.
Aida Osman
That's the nigga in you, right?
Lacey Mosley
I was like, niggas are running. Me too. Jackie Joyner Kersey, say less. Usain Bold. Let's go. So I get over there, and it's Beyonce. And she was so nice, and people were like, oh, can we take pictures? Like, you know, I'm not taking pictures right now. And I was like, that's fine, Queen. I just want to breathe the air. Ooh, tastes good.
Aida Osman
And had she just performed?
Lacey Mosley
No, I think she was walking in because there's a further VIP in the back. So you can go in the back, and there's pool tables and private rooms and stuff. And we were doing that, but at this point, we were sitting in the front of vip and she walked through the front, which I think she does when she wants to get, like, the press going for the club. So it's like, oh, today I'll walk in the front so the girls will put 4040 on page.
Aida Osman
I'll fucking let y'all see me. I'll let y'all just have the opportunity and the privilege to just see my legs. You know, if I close my eyes, I can see Beyonce's figure and her thighs so perfectly. And that's, like. That caused me fear because I can't even do that with my own body. I'm like, bitch, what do I look like? But with Beyonce, I know exactly what her body looked like. And to the year.
Lacey Mosley
To the year. I remember Beyonce's had such a power over me that when Girl like that who Run the World Girl song came out, the first time I listened to it, I was like, beyonce, I love everything you do, but I don't really like. This is kind of Girls, girl.
Aida Osman
Me too. It reminded me how much I hated that song at first listen.
Lacey Mosley
Then she. She scammed me by just playing it over and over and doing a music video that was popping. And then I was like, who run the World girls?
Aida Osman
I was like, I don't really like this song.
Lacey Mosley
Beyonce, how dare you. She was like, you will like everything I make. Shut your ass up and save up for Concerts.
Aida Osman
Oh, my God. All $700.
Lacey Mosley
I had to spend that one year.
Aida Osman
For me and a friend to just go sit in the nosebleeds just to watch her. Like, God, I can't wait for the world to open again so I can blow a wreck, right?
Lacey Mosley
Seeing Beyonce to just breathe her air. I'mma get good. Good se. Now I want to be up there with the white people who got them for free because they rich and they don't know what's going on. I want to be like, I want some sweat to hit me, you know, I want her to hit me with her weave.
Aida Osman
I want to be sitting next to the old white woman who has her legs crossed, just staring at her. Beyonce, like, with her jaw dropped, like, looking at her husband, like, baby, can we go home?
Lacey Mosley
Right?
Aida Osman
That's the row I want to be in, right?
Lacey Mosley
I want to be next to her. She's like, Ted, like, come on. And he's like, babe, I've got to talk to some people after this. You know, this is work.
Aida Osman
You know, I want to be right.
Lacey Mosley
There next to them screaming my face off, because, oh, my God. It's just. Yeah, but so we scammed, and it actually worked. And I was very proud of us that evening. So this wristband should be working. And honestly, I still have colored wristbands in my house because every now and then, you know, it might be a crazy weekend, and I might have to slap one on one and scam.
Aida Osman
You know what that is like, you know how some women keep their fancy gloss in a purse? Gotta have the wallet, the id, the mask, now the keys. The new thing has got to be a different colored wristband just in case you're trying to get into a bar, you know, you don't want to pay no cover fee. And first of all, you a fine woman that should never have to pay no cover fee.
Lacey Mosley
Same to you.
Aida Osman
You know, push comes to shove. Push comes to shove. You got every color. You got Roy G Biv wristbands just in your purse, ready to go.
Lacey Mosley
And I'm just looking. I'm just looking at everybody walking by, like, which one do I need to put on right now? I love this scam. And nobody got hurt. It was fun. You got to go to some hospitals you probably couldn't afford to go to, so Jebedicius. So I think that this was. I'm proud of you. I'm. I'm good with this. I like this.
Aida Osman
I feel like my. I need to get my weight up because y'all are doing so much Better than me. My wristband scams are like, oh, I'm 18.
Lacey Mosley
I can't get into this festival.
Aida Osman
But my homegirl is 21 and she is leaving the festival, so I'm going to rip the wristband off of her and put it on me. And that's how I get in. But beyond that, I don't have any stories. That's like orchestrated organized criminal activity. Just happens since.
Lacey Mosley
Right. I love it and I love the audacity. Most of the scamming is just about confidence. If you walk into a place and act like you belong there, people won't question it. But if you start looking nervous, like, they're going to be looking at you. You know what I mean?
Aida Osman
Shit, bitch, I don't even know why you booked me for this. I'd just be smiling. And people are like, oh, she is a figure. She's a public figure. Like, she keeps saying she's a public figure, so we have to put her on things.
Lacey Mosley
No, you are a public figure. And I was thirsty. I was Sahara Desert tumb weed. Thirsty for your ass. I was like, let me plot.
Aida Osman
I just listened to the podcast that you had with Brandon, who is my good friend. Brandon Kyle Goodman, because we both worked on Big Mouth, and I was like, I'll never compare to that. That funny, funny man.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, my goodness.
Aida Osman
So amazing. King a dream.
Lacey Mosley
I was like, we're best friends now. But like, no, for real. Like, we gonna be friends. Like, I'm gonna text you. Okay, love you. Brandon is fine, too.
Aida Osman
Fine.
Lacey Mosley
He's so funny. And you know what's funny? When I posted about him, people were like, damn, he really just be having some eye candy on this show. I'm like, wait till y'all see Aida. Like, I'm gonna keep the hits coming. Baddies all around. Okay. Yes. Come on. Cheekbones working 24 hours a day.
Aida Osman
They are. They be cheekboning. They really do.
Lacey Mosley
They do. But anyway, we go. I know y'all listening. Like, some people love the tangents. Most people do. But some people, like, bitch, if you don't get to the story. That's a scam, y'all. I told y'all. It's a comedy show where I just make friends with people I want to make friends with. And then I do some scams on the side for y'all, cuz whatever.
Aida Osman
A scam, a scam, a scam, a.
Lacey Mosley
Scam, a scam, a scam.
Aida Osman
Yes.

Okay.
Aida Osman
What a stupid phrase. What a dumb phrase. I just want. The technology is interesting, it's cool. But y'all need to a brand. It's a branding issue at this point, right? Figure it out, y'all.
Lacey Mosley
You know, tech guys are always trying to make stuff with multiple letters. And you know they say million, they just be saying mm, familiar. Like they just be trying to do too much. It's a whole culture and you know, it is. They really just want to be rappers. And so they're like, how come all the rappers now coming out, their names are like lil xyz, 35 2k, like.
Aida Osman
Have wi fi password as names.
Lacey Mosley
Trying to push them off these old login ass names.
Aida Osman
Yes. I'm about to tell you about the illust con. I'm in the Valley. I'm talking silicon. Didn't I see bars?
Lacey Mosley
Bars.
Aida Osman
Shut the up.
Lacey Mosley
God damn bars. Sorry.
Aida Osman
Yes, you was teaching them. You was teaching them.
Lacey Mosley
Hold on, I gotta take this headphone out. It's smoking. Smoking.
Aida Osman
There's fire coming out of Lacey's ears.
Lacey Mosley
Fire.
Aida Osman
It's bad.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, but yeah, it's that. It's either the names with all the letters or the names that are whole sentences. Like, how is your rap name, young boy? Never broke again. That's a sentence.
Aida Osman
And also, I can't wait till the day where he loses it all. And I'm gonna be like, huh? Never broke up.
Lacey Mosley
What? Tell me, right?
Aida Osman
Literally, tell me.
Lacey Mosley
Look, I'm gonna start rapping. My name gonna be. I love to go outside and hike, but I'm a rapper. But you need to say my whole.
Aida Osman
Name since we doing anything, okay?
Lacey Mosley
Anything, you know, why not? I'm gonna be that. So an NFT artist used Banksy's popularity to make a million dollars in a sale. So if you guys don't know who Banksy is. Banksy is an England based street artist, political activist and director. He's been putting up graffiti all over the world since the 90s, usually without permission.
Aida Osman
Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Though many artists use stenciling graffiti, Banksy has drawn international attention for his art. One of his paintings translated into a 1.4 million dollar sale. In 2008, Banksy created Pest Control, an organization set up to sell and authenticate all of his work. Nobody seems to know Binksy's real identity, which in the year of our Lord 2021, for nobody. That means your circle's tight, ain't Nobody snitching on you. And like Everybody's signing them NDAs and they know what they mean.
Aida Osman
I feel like. I feel like Banksy hasn't had any slip ups. You're right. We really don't know nothing about that, man.
Lacey Mosley
We've never caught Banksy slipping. What a scammer. Oh, Banksy, come do the pod. Like I'll let you.
Aida Osman
You can come in.
Lacey Mosley
You don't gotta turn the camera on, baby.
Aida Osman
Shit, bitch. Maybe it's me the whole time, right? I am here to talk about the scams. I'm out. Banksy, shut the fuck up.
Lacey Mosley
That would be very funny if Banksy the whole time was Hyda the whole time. Also not shocking.
Aida Osman
Guess what pop up. Guess who, bitch.
Lacey Mosley
Papa. Put your mask on and pop out. So this is banksy, right? In 2008, Banksy created the best control thing that's gonna come in handy. So remember, pest control is his business. According to the official website, it says we are the sole contact for the artist. If you're talking to Banksy through any other channel, you're not. So basically they were like, if we're that girl and we're the only girl dot com.
Aida Osman
I said what I said.
Lacey Mosley
Is that what I said? I meant what I meant. So, and another, we're doing a little education. Up top, guys. So Also, what are NFTs? Let's do that so that when we get into this, we can just have a good time so we know who Banksy is. Now let's talk about what NFTs are so non fungible. Tokens are digital objects that resemble Pokemon and baseball cards. But instead of Pokemon and athlete images, NFT cards contain gifts, videos, songs and even tweets suites. Each NFT is unique thanks to an attached serial number stored in a network of computers. The underlying technology is called a blockchain and is the same that operates cryptocurrencies. I love that I go into my news lady voice when I start reading like information cryptocurrencies.
Aida Osman
Okay, Candace. Okay. Candace Owens, teach me.
Lacey Mosley
Don't do that. I'm sipping. Oh, my God, my edges are disappearing. Oh, my God. No.
Aida Osman
My hair is pride falling off.
Lacey Mosley
Take it back. My hair is so dry.
Aida Osman
I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Viola Davis. You are Cicely Tyson. You are moisturized Tracee Ellis Ross, baby girl. Keep going.
Lacey Mosley
Thank you, queen. Cause for a second there who I started to drive like a raisin in the sun.
Aida Osman
So I also think a really interesting thing about NFTs. Have you heard about Azealia Banks.
Lacey Mosley
You know, I know about her problematic chicken killing ass bitch.
Aida Osman
Once she's done boiling cats, she is putting work in, okay? Because she. She stopped digging up her cat for one moment to make a sex tape with her boyfriend at the time, Ryder Rips. And he turned around and sold that as an NFT for $17,000 on the initial sale.
Lacey Mosley
And on the initial sale, what was the sex tape? Was it like visual? Like, was it.
Aida Osman
Bitch, it's not a sex tape. No. There's no cheeks, no titties, no nothing. No booty nothing.
Lacey Mosley
How is it a sex tape then? It's all audio.
Aida Osman
It's an audio sex tape. It's just the sound of moaning. The sound of moaning.
Lacey Mosley
At least tell me you hear some macaroni and cheese. At least.
Aida Osman
Well, I don't know what Azealia packing. I don't know if she packing all that. I will not make a statement. I don't know. I don't know. But now it's being resold for damn near, I think, initially, $236 million. Now it's up to over $260 million. And the cool thing about NFTs, which is what makes them so pivotal in artistry and how they're changing everything, is that the artist, the original artist, continues to maintain profit and revenue after the resale. So that means Azealia Banks is damn near, let's say. Let's guess she's splitting it with her boyfriend at the time. And let's even guess he's making 90% of it. She's only getting 10% because you know how men love to scam women. She's still probably making, like, two, three million dollars off this vicious.
Lacey Mosley
Ooh.
Aida Osman
Oh, bitch.
Lacey Mosley
Onlyfans is shaking, okay? Shaking and quaking in their boots. Yes, we're happy for her.
Aida Osman
We really are.
Lacey Mosley
We are. We're proud. Listen, Azalea, you be. I wish you would just stop talking and just make music. Cause your music is so good. But every time you open your mouth, you offending everybody and their cousin and their mama and their uncle and their granddaddy, and he been dead for 20 years. Like, can you. Can you just chill so we can enjoy you like Lord Jesus?
Aida Osman
But.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, but you know what? I'm still happy that she's getting in on a fantastic on the ground floor. Guys, get your NFTs popping. Get your NFTs DM me.
Aida Osman
DM me. If you want to make an audio sex tape, could be easy. We could find a couple out in, like, a night, right?
Lacey Mosley
I'll be on there like love rants, like, ooh, ah. Oh, that's a deep cut if y'all know what I'm talking about. Beat the pussy up. I love rants. If you don't know, now you know. So the most common cryptocurrency used with NFTs is either ether or eth. Ethereum. Right. So at the time of this recording, one eth is worth $2,159. That's the number at the time of this research. Okay. So it fluctuates. You know, things like in this market go up and down. So it could be worth more by the time that you guys hear this, though, because it's been real popping in the zeitgeist. All right, so now we out of this. Oh, I'm so glad you're here because you know more about NFTs than I do.
Aida Osman
I, you know, but it's.
Lacey Mosley
It's like that guilt. It's the.
Aida Osman
The guilt of me that's like, oh, I'm an artist, I'm a creator, and I don't give a about this type of. But I know that I'm going to fall behind if I don't. And these white is going to get all the money in it, and then the black women are going to be so confused. So it's kind of been my mission to try to learn about it and educate people so that we can get our foot in the door.
Lacey Mosley
Like, this is absurd.
Aida Osman
Hell yeah.
Lacey Mosley
And all y'all can get your foot in the door too. Look at this. I should be charging y'all.
Aida Osman
We.
Lacey Mosley
We got blessing, y'all. And I. I googled it when I saw it trending on Twitter, and so I learned, like, the basics. But as far as could become a part of it, I'm very interested now, you know, in this episode as well, to figure it out, because I want some. I want some scamming episodes, girl.
Aida Osman
Yes. We gonna link up. We gonna link up and brainstorm. We could Galaxy brain some for you.
Lacey Mosley
We got it. Scamming.
Aida Osman
Scamming tips.
Lacey Mosley
Amen.
Aida Osman
Scamming stories.
Lacey Mosley
Amen. Something I'll do because, like, what NFTs do remind me of is like, do you remember when Wuang Clan released that album, but they only released one and Martin Scarelli was actually the person who bought it. So they made an album and they decided to just release one, like one version, like one CD or whatever. And they sold it to the hottest, like, auctioned it to the highest bidder, and Martin Scarelli bought that Shit, the criminal who was doing all that upcharging for, you know, essential drugs and stuff.
Aida Osman
Yeah, I love that you just straight up call him a criminal and not like a pharmaceutical man. He is just a criminal. Okay. Yes. I'm. I'm finding out about this now. Holy shit. 7.36 million.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Aida Osman
Sorry, this is a lot. Go ahead, carry on.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, right. For the album. So I think we have the Wu Tang Clan to thank for NFTs. Okay? Black history moment. The more you know.
Aida Osman
You're right. It's all trickle down. Whatever. Some I learned economics, I don't remember.
Lacey Mosley
But I'm gonna thank the rza, the Jizza and Ghost Face Killer. And you know, there's a lot of.
Aida Osman
Them honorable mention to the Scissor who just be looking fine. She's not even involved. She'd be looking fine.
Lacey Mosley
So she do be looking fine. And I'll be loving her music. Like, oh, I love me some scissors. Yes. I'll never know what she talking about. Like, when I listen to the song, I could never.
Aida Osman
She sing like a banjo. That girl sing like a whole band.
Lacey Mosley
And I love it.
Aida Osman
You coming for her for real. You might be better to her. You better stop.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, all this gasoline, baby. I'm at ExxonMobil right now. Come on.
Aida Osman
I ain't even give me the BP spill. She might need some dawn soap to clean her up.
Lacey Mosley
Right? Which you know what I've always wondered with them ducks? Are they putting the oil on the ducks so they can do the commercial where they wipe it off with the dye?
Aida Osman
I ain't even thought about that. I ain't even thought about that. Because they're not going out in nature.
Lacey Mosley
And then doing some oil ducks.
Aida Osman
Yo, I really hope it's something else. Like they're putting. They're putting like a makeup on them. Damn. Then they testing on animals. It's all just a problem all the way down, right?
Lacey Mosley
I was always wondering. I was like, how y'all conveniently at every oil spill, Dawn.
Aida Osman
But now, now I'm imagining like a casting call with all these oily ducks just waddling in like, I'm that bitch. I got this premium oil all over this nice ass body. The fudge. You finna cast me, ho.
Lacey Mosley
Right? And then all the ducks walk in and then they find they get discouraged when they see the aflac duck come in. Like, aflac. No, bitch, I got it in the bag like it's mine. Affleck is here. Leave. All of you can go, cuz Affleck's booking The oil duck, okay?
Aida Osman
That's like, when I get somewhere. And like Nicole Byers at the audition, I'm like, let me just take my happy ass home. I ain't got no business here, bruh.
Lacey Mosley
It's even worse now with self tapes as actors, because sometimes I get self tapes. Like, I had a self tape for Ma Rainey's black bottom. And I say, y'all, why y'all making me do this work?
Aida Osman
Y'all know the girlfriend?
Lacey Mosley
Yes. And I was like, y'all know this is already offered to somebody who's famous and not on Taylor page. And I, yeah, duh. Like, why y'all got over here wasting my time, girl?
Aida Osman
What? What? Or like, I'm just happy sometimes that I'm not, like, fully light skinned because Zazie Beats just be having everything. So why the fuck would I try? Why would I try? Why would I try?
Lacey Mosley
Mine are Aja, Naomi, King, Taylor, Payne, like, and they're all baddies. So I'm like, I. If y'all will send it my way, even just to play with a bitch. I'm like, really flattered.
Aida Osman
But also, I'm glad you thinking, I.
Lacey Mosley
Mean, me, I don't want to work when I know I'm not gonna get the job.
Aida Osman
So make me learn these lines right? You.
Lacey Mosley
That's a whole scam. I'll talk about that later. So how it started? Y'all remember all the information? I told you? I hope so.
Aida Osman
NFTs, we got NFTs. We know Banksy now we're kind of put on game.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, we all gang. So on February 14, 2021, which is very recent, NFT surfers noticed a new profile called Pest Pest supply. So remember, Banksy's be itness is called pest control. Okay? Okay. Similar, similar. Maybe great value. Okay, maybe Kirkland's. All right. So maybe equate for the Throw it down.
Aida Osman
You better stop knowing every single knockoff brand.
Lacey Mosley
I'm just saying, okay?
Aida Osman
You better stop showing that ass.
Lacey Mosley
I love. I love a knockoff brand. They make me laugh. Okay, so. So they noticed that Pet Supply surface, right? The artist puts stenciled graffiti art for sale in two online galleries, Rarible and open sea. People thought, oh, look, pest is in pest control. Dark humor and graffiti. We just found Banksy. So people are thinking like, one, one Banksy is shrouded in mystery. Why'd I say like that? In mystery. He's shrouded in mystery. And people don't know who he is. So they're thinking like, oh, he's coming up Low on the NFT thing. Like, we just got the tea, right? So Pet Supply didn't mention any affiliation with Banksy in their bio. And none of the NFTs were digitized versions of original Banksy street art. So they kept it far enough away. Yet people insisted on believing that Pet Supply was Banksy. It wouldn't be the first time that Banksy showed up undercover, because that's his whole thing. People simply thought that Banksy used the NFT platforms to pull off another one of his tricks. From there, things escalated and the money started to roll. So Banksy set himself up to be scammed. You're the perfect person to scam. We ain't never seen your face. We ain't never heard your voice. Like, we should all be Banksy, I'm Banksy. I'm Banksy.
Aida Osman
We all. So at this point, we could all be. But you know what? I'm immediately thinking, like, are there laws against impersonating somebody even if they have maintained anonymity? Like, can he sue?
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Aida Osman
Yes. Yes.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Aida Osman
You can't.
Lacey Mosley
You can't impersonate people. That's. That's a crime.
Aida Osman
But is this person, like, saying, I'm Banksy, da, da, da, hello, look at me, or are they doing a savvy, like, no maneuvering.
Lacey Mosley
So far, all we have is vibes. This person was giving vibes, and they weren't necessarily being like, hey, girl, it's me, Banksy, your favorite graffiti king.
Aida Osman
How you gonna spend millions off a hunch? Y'all are crazy. Y'all have too much money.
Lacey Mosley
This is why capitalism is bad. Like, bro, you got enough money to buy an online web thingy for a million dollars that you don't need, that literally cannot feed you, house you, or clothe you. Like, don't even get me.
Aida Osman
So as much as I, like, care about the NFTs and think we should all know about them, I'm still not on board with them. Conceptually. What now? What do you own? You just own the idea of a thing, and it's in pixels and it's online, and that's cool, but it's just the same thing as art. It's like you were placing value on it, and that's cool. And some nigga decided to place however much on this fake Banksy. What happened next?
Lacey Mosley
I love it. Oh, my God. Be my friend. Oh, I love this podcast. So someone paid 35 ETH is the Ethereum or $68,000 USD on one piece called NFT morons. Oh, so it's making fun. Of it. So we have a picture up right here.
Aida Osman
Oh, how postmodern. How satirical. How meta. I fucking hate white people online. So annoying. Okay.
Lacey Mosley
I can't believe you morons actually buy this shit. And people are like, groundbreaking. I'll pay money. I'll pay $68,000 for it. Yes, I could have bought a home or donated it to charity or helped my community, but. But I'll buy this thing. I love an artist that can ridicule you or, like, play you, but you still love them. And, like, Rihanna doesn't ridicule people, but she most certainly plays us. She's like, yeah, yeah, the album's coming. The album gonna be out soon.
Aida Osman
Yeah, hers. Hers is the long con. This is just like, in your face one time, but the first time, like, Rihanna is just. We're dangling by her face. She doesn't care.
Lacey Mosley
The carrot is just hanging. And we're like, yes. I'm like, yes, Rihanna. I will listen to these panties from Savage. Yes, Rihanna. I will hold. Hold this lip gloss up to my ear and pretend that it's music because I love you. But also, I do have to just say this shout out to Rihanna because this is something small that I don't think people talk about enough. But if you open her lip gloss tubes, the stick is bigger than most lip gloss tube sticks. And I said, oh, honey, this is for lips. Because when I tell you, yeah, because I have black made it for black women. And when I have to put on lip gloss with everybody else's lip gloss of applicator, Chad's like, paint the hell house. I'm like, all right, I gotta.
Aida Osman
All right.
Lacey Mosley
I made halfway through one lip again.
Aida Osman
Because the regular lip glosses have, like, the, like, eyeliner brush. Like, that's how fucking small it is for some reason.
Lacey Mosley
And I'm like, I got lips. I ain't got time for all this. I want one swipe to swipe. And Rihanna did that for me. So thank you, Rihanna, for the. For the big lipped community. We appreciate it. But as the craziness continued to spread, people grew skeptical. A crypto artist named Matt Max Osiris decided to contact Banksy spokesperson at pest control office and asked if Pest Supply is Banksy affiliated. The spokesperson responded, no, there isn't any affiliation with any shape or form. Now, remember how Pet Supply shared its work on two platforms, right? Rarible and OpenSea. Soon after the email exchange spread on Twitter, OpenSea locked pest supplies profile. As for Rarible, where most of the action was, they sent Pet Supply A note. I love Rebel, because Rebel was like, okay, we scamming. So the other site may shut y'all down, but we just gonna see y'all a strongly written letter.
Aida Osman
That's like when you ask your mama, your daddy, if you could do something, and the mama says, no, but you stay with the daddy and just hope, right? Like, yo, dad, can you make this? Make this work for me.
Lacey Mosley
Make this work for me. So they sent an email. And this is what some of the email says. It says, after some discussion, we'd be happy to verify your account, provided that at the top of your bio on Rare, you clearly state that this is not Banksy and that your work is based on Banksy's work. So Rarible was like, look, we love a great value, we love an equate, we love a Kirkland, and we love the residual income we get off of you selling this shit. So could you just go ahead and tell the girls that you're not Banksy? And that's fine with us. Pet Supplies response was to copy paste the same note at the top of their profile. Oh.
Aida Osman
Oh, my God. This is getting juicy. It's getting juicy. Performance art. We love to see it.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. So can we zoom in somehow on this so I can read it? Okay, so it says pest supply. Then it says after. Then it's just literally what they were sent. And above that, it says, not here, not there, not everywhere. And then they just posted the quote that was like, could you please tell us if you were Banksy?
Aida Osman
Oh, wow. What a roundabout way to still carry on with a scam, because this still clears nothing up.
Lacey Mosley
And this is validating them because this is. My God, this drove me nuts because the media is so fucking responsible for Donald Trump being president. I know this seems like it's a wild non sequitur, but I'm gonna bring it back. The media is so responsible for him being president because they legitimized him by even comparing him to someone who had actually been in the office. And specifically, I just want to talk about how I thought this was genius. Genius scam. Melania Trump had a speech once that was like, the identical copy, basically, of Michelle Obama's speech. And wait, are you getting.
Aida Osman
Are you getting at a point that's like, this is deliberate? It was part of the plan.
Lacey Mosley
Hell are you.
Aida Osman
You got your tin foil hat on, bitch. You trying to conspiracy.
Lacey Mosley
Hell yeah, I know it was deliberate. Donald Trump is a scammer. So I know this shit was deliberate because you don't copy a speech like that. Word for word, bar for bar. To quote Soulja Boy. You know what I mean? Michelle Melania, she stole my whole fucking flow. And the reason that that was so genius was because then obviously everyone's going to take that piece of information and they're going to be like, comparing Michelle Obama and Melania side by side, which happened so much. And obviously, Michelle Obama has a squeaky clean image. And Melania know I'm not slut shaming, so I never participated in the like, oh, look at this girl naked. And now she our first lady. I'm like, look, if the first lady got her titties out, she got her titties out. I just don't want her to be a racist and a xenophobe and evil as that's what I care about. But everybody can have their titties out whenever they want and do whatever they want in their life.
Aida Osman
Priorities. Talk about it.
Lacey Mosley
But when they juxtaposed them so much, everybody was like, oh, you know, it made her look more first lady Ish. And she. Now she's being compared to, you know, the bad bitch, Michelle Obama. So this was such a genius idea to just put that on the site to be like, look, they think we're Banksy. I'm not saying yes or no, but the girls think we are. So, you know, you be the judge.
Aida Osman
It reminds me kind of of like the way we've allowed Tekashi 6ix9ine to exist in this new villain role and still be a part of, like, the music industry. He just gets to exist happily, and there's a world in that bitch. Infamy Work works. Infamy works. Go ahead, pet supply.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, Infamy works. And there's so many people who know how to work infamy. When we talked about Caroline Calloway on this podcast, because it was with Jamila Jamil, she capitalized on that. She got a book coming out. I'm not gonna say the name, but. And people already. People already pre ordered it. And we're like, hey, girl, where's the book? Where's the book? So she's scamming y'all.
Aida Osman
She's like, y'all know my history. Why did you think the book was gonna come out?
Lacey Mosley
The book is a vibe, okay? The book is what's in your heart. Okay? Look at my Instagram post together the book for yourself, all the captions.
Aida Osman
That's a chapter.
Lacey Mosley
That's a chapter, right? Y'all playing. So I thought that was super freaking genius, right? So appropriation art seems to Best describe what Pestafly identifies as pet supply. Noted in their current bio that they knew nothing about art history. A tweet about one piece that sold said, I either just blew $750 or got the deal of the lifetime on a Banksy. We shall see. And you know what?
Aida Osman
To this don't even look like a Banksy. This new one that we're looking at right now don't even look like a Banksy. For someone who has minimal understanding, it.
Lacey Mosley
Says, you are next. Screenshot these and remind me to post them to Instagram. And y'all remind me to. To post all the fake art that we're seeing from this person, because I need y'all to see it. But what's so dope about that is it's like people are now willingly participating in a scam because they're like, either it's a scam scam or it's lit. And I bought Banksy's art. And either way, the whole point of flexing and buying expensive artists to be like, I can afford to spend a ridiculous amount of money on a piece of paper. And if you got scammed, that's an interesting dinner party. Dinner party story. So you can make that your personality.
Aida Osman
And exactly like. I forget, too, that we give these stories more credence and then the art goes up in value. Like, it's truly an investment option for them. Like, it's a stage stock. Like, this is a whole. This guy. The return on investment could be there.
Lacey Mosley
I worked with Joey Fatone on a random show and that I don't think will ever come out. But he one day was leaving set and had on a fyre fest T shirt. And when I tell you I wanted that shit so fucking bad, he was like, I had a friend who knew, so who went and, like, got me a T shirt. And I'm like, it's iconic because it's such a huge scam. And so now that T shirt is valuable. Just the fire fest T shirt. Yeah. I'm really into this. I love.
Aida Osman
Was it that ugly? Was it that ugly? Fucking orange color.
Lacey Mosley
It was black, and then the logo was white. It was cute. And it's like a whole iconic moment. I was like, where can I get a fire festi? Because I fucking want one.
Aida Osman
Does this. Does this story end in you ripping it off Joey's body and you being escorted off the premises, or.
Lacey Mosley
I wish.
Aida Osman
Okay.
Lacey Mosley
I honestly was looking like my guy. Help a black queen out and just take that shit off.
Aida Osman
Thought she was about it. Lacey thought she was really about it.
Lacey Mosley
I should have robbed him. You're right. That's my robbery. That's a robbery regret. Because I should have just been like, this is a stick up. Give me the shirt. Oh, my goodness. So all this to say he didn't get caught. This is not getting caught. So whoever this Banksy bootleg Banksy is, they are still out here living and thriving.
Aida Osman
This is. My brain is just worrying. I'm like, what could I do? Could I pretend to be somebody? Can I do a ri. A fake Rihanna song? You know what, bro? After this, let's record R9. Me and you. We gonna record R9. We gonna drop it as an NFT. And people gonna be like, oh, my God, this Rihanna's genius. But it's just me and you wailing overseas, right?
Lacey Mosley
Can I even do a Rihanna in person? You need me. What way I be smoking weed every time. We gonna get it. I think we. I. We could probably do it after this.
Aida Osman
I'm doing furniture. You can fenty on a fenty.
Lacey Mosley
Food time. Furniture Food time. Okay. Bl.
Aida Osman
Oh, yes. Ble.
Lacey Mosley
Barbados.
Aida Osman
Big forehead. The.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, okay. You got it. I'm just gonna be in the back. Like the City girls tracks doing ad libs. Like Barbados. Barbados, you my carisha.
Aida Osman
You my little career.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Listen, and that's fine, because we all know Karisha can't find the beat to save her life.
Aida Osman
Girl, she getting better. She improving. She had the funniest tweet the other day. She was like, I have been rapping for three years, and I'm getting better. And I was like, bitch, please delete the tweet.
Lacey Mosley
No, I love it. That's what I love about Caresha, because Karisha will own it. Remember when she was featured, her and the other city girls were featured on a remix of Ooh, It's a popular song. God damn, I can't think of the remix. But everybody was like, damn, you shouldn't have did this. This is bad. Karisha can't find a beat. And then Caresha retweeted it and was like, everybody's saying I wasn't on beat. Oh, well. But she put a. Well, instead of saying well, she said.
Aida Osman
Oh, well, I don't know about all that. All I know is I like to be.
Lacey Mosley
That's the song. That song.
Aida Osman
Oh, that's Throw, baby. Throw baby.
Lacey Mosley
And everybody was like, why y'all got Karisha on throw baby? You know she can't find a beat and was like, I thought I was on be. Oh, well.
Aida Osman
I love this new wave of rappers. They just don't even be rapping. It's my favorite thing about them.
Lacey Mosley
They're just hot and they're cool.
Aida Osman
Live your life. Live your life.
Lacey Mosley
But I love the city girls so, so much because they're like, so authentic to me. Like, sometimes I guess they can say something problematic, but like, it's just. I love them so much. Like, yes.
Aida Osman
And we have to change our expectations. Like, these are girls from Opalaka. They're from Liberty City in Florida.
Lacey Mosley
Like, like authentically. So let them live. These aren't suburban girls who TI Gave an accent to and then they started rapping. These aren't Iggy Azaleas. These are authentic city girls and city girls. And I'm like, yes.
Aida Osman
Real gutter bitches.
Lacey Mosley
Real gutter beast. Okay, what is pussy? Talk English, Spanish and French.
Aida Osman
Okay, you okay? You actually got that down.
Lacey Mosley
Hello. Hola. Je m'appelle pussy.
Aida Osman

Aida Osman
I'm not gonna lie. We kind of bonded.
Lacey Mosley
We did. I'm into this, yo. And I'm into your lighting. That's happening. Is that some pink lights?
Aida Osman
Okay, that's Phillips Hue. Fund me, sponsor me, Send me some love fights, yo. It's actually the bomb. I might send you one. I'mma send you one.
Lacey Mosley
How about yo. Oh, my God, stop. I would die. This is like, so you need it. I feel like I'm in a music video. I feel like, cute.
Aida Osman
Yes. It's giving Cisco. It's giving Jamira. Quiet. I have to change it up. I like to change it up.
Lacey Mosley
Not Cisco boy. I will never.
Aida Osman
I'm Stalin.
Lacey Mosley
I'll never forget. Cisco is an icon. And the way he sang the thong song will stay with me for the rest of my life because I have never seen anybody belt emot. Speaking.
Aida Osman
Speaking of niggas who sing like banjos, that man said thong. The thong.
Lacey Mosley
But what kills me in that song is who. Who let him get in the booth and be like, I like it with a beat. Go, baby. Let your booty go. Like he was singing so hard. Like he was touched by the spirit, baby. Like he was singing so hard about that.
Aida Osman
I miss artists like that. You know what? And this is actually in line. Like, I feel like Guapdad 4000 is kind of close to that. Like, because he does scam rap. It's one reason I bring it.
Lacey Mosley
And I love. You know, I know Guap dad.
Aida Osman
Girl, I know you was up on all the scamming. I know that. I know that about you. I would never disrespect.
Lacey Mosley
Scam music is my forte. I love some scam music.
Aida Osman
Do you know TJ X6?
Lacey Mosley
Are you kidding? I talked about him on the podcast because he named it after the credit card swipe diaper that he was. Yes. And I was like, oh, a genius. A genius.
Aida Osman
I love that. I'm with my people right now, you know. Well, you know what the time we on. Okay, sorry. I'm styling.
Lacey Mosley
Never apologize queen. You are absolutely on the money. You are giving me all my oxygen and air. So. So our scammer of the week. And guys, this is the part where we highlight a charlatan who's worthy of our praise or not because sometime turn out to be trash. But we like they scam anyway. So today we're gonna hardcore pivot to a line dancing scam.
Aida Osman
Nebraskan is all.
Lacey Mosley
Get out.
Aida Osman
She knew the Midwest bitch was gonna be here today. She said, let's cater to her.
Lacey Mosley
Cater to me? To you? Okay, let me cater to you. And you know what? Can I just. The last tangent. I'm lying. It might not be. But cater to you always sticks with me because I'll never forget when they.
Aida Osman
I know what you about to say. The BET performance.
Lacey Mosley
Performance.
Aida Osman
I knew he was about to say that. Holy.
Lacey Mosley
Why did they do.
Aida Osman
Girl said you was off your ones. He was on your ones and threes. You need to be on the twos and fours. That's what you need to be. Oh, my God.
Lacey Mosley
They give Michelle.
Aida Osman
Michelle was really get trying to give it. You know what?
Lacey Mosley
Michelle is a whole scam because I love Michelle so much and she gets so much shade. But Michelle is paid, honey. Destiny's Child is paying all the utilities. They're paying all the rents. They're paying everything. Y'all can disrespect her if y'all want.
Aida Osman
But before it's due, Michelle is handing in the payment before it's due. She paying six months in advance.
Lacey Mosley
Everything's all. She don't even notice when the leave the account. Like Michelle is doing Sprint be overcharging.
Aida Osman
Her and she don't even know this.
Lacey Mosley
She don't even know they like, it's Michelle Williams. She ain't gonna know. She ain't gonna know that we charged her extra like. And also, I Will never forget when they performed at 106 and park and Michelle fell and they stepped over her like road kill. And continue the performance. Beyonce.
Aida Osman
Beyonce and Kelly ain't miss a beat. They really was like, this is our job and that's what you chose to do. So we'll be carrying on with the performance.
Lacey Mosley
I feel like Michelle be falling all the time, cuz I fall all the time. To the point where people like, I have a little scar right here cuz I fell the other day. Like I fall as an adult, I fall too much. It's ridiculous. My feet are too big for my body.
Aida Osman
I need to know what her zodiac sign is.
Lacey Mosley
I do too. But she must fall so often cuz they weren't even like, are you okay? They're like, fine.
Aida Osman
They were like, it's part. It's part of the act.
Lacey Mosley
Everybody, can you keep up? Michelle couldn't raise the noise and lose my breath. Michelle, you could raise the noise. Yeah, I'm fine. I'm fine.
Aida Osman
Oh, my God. Oh.
Lacey Mosley
Shout out to Michelle. So the line dancing scam. Brett and Bruce Jenkins allegedly arranged an overseas trip for fellow line dancers, only to cancel and not provide refunds. Wow. Hurtful. So Brett Jenkins, 37, and Bruce Jenkins, 66, from Queensland, Australia, are alleged to have arranged an overseas trip and tours for line dancing festivals, balls cruises, only to cancel and not provide the refunds. Police are reaching out to line dancing community.
Aida Osman
I'm so fucking mad that you have said Australian and line dancing in the same sentence. You need to shut this whole shit down.
Lacey Mosley
What in the shrimp and the barbie is this?
Aida Osman
Yo, man, I thought we was gonna.
Lacey Mosley
Be doing like Kane wang with it. I thought it was gonna be like the cupid shuffle. I thought y'all were gonna give me the electric slide, not Australian line dancers.
Aida Osman
What do they even do? Like soulja boy but in the outback? Like, I'm very confused.
Lacey Mosley
No, they were like, we gotta. We what? What?
Aida Osman
Kangaroo hopping.
Lacey Mosley
We gotta Joey. We gotta. Everyone do the Joey. We're all doing the Joey. Everyone hop in.
Aida Osman
1, 2, 3, 4.
Lacey Mosley
All right, laser disc. Which is the best thing I can say in an Australian accent. Y'all know that. We're like, we're doing the laser disc now. Like, what are y'all even doing? What in the. What in the. Nicole Kidman.
Aida Osman
You know I hate this one. Nar.
Lacey Mosley
I hate this one. Everyone, you guys know we love lawn dancing. What is this? What is this? Honey? And I love. But also, why are police reaching out to the line dancing community? How do you Even find the line dancing community and be like, hey, we the police.
Aida Osman
Knock knock. We bored. We ain't got to do. It's Australia. So.
Lacey Mosley
Good day. Good day. We want to know where the line dancing criminals are. Like, what? I am confusion. So the popo done reached out and were like, basically, what can y'all tell us about this? Because it's a father son duo that it's allegedly defrauding thousands of dollars from their fellow line dancers. Damn. This is a very niche scam. I feel like you can't do this for long because the line dance community, like, they gonna meet up at the next.
Aida Osman
They sharp. They fast too. They on their feet. They quick on their feet. For real.
Lacey Mosley
And they coordinated.
Aida Osman
They coordinated. They gonna get you exactly.
Lacey Mosley
So many. Many of the victims are elderly and vulnerable to financial fraud, and police said that some had lost their life savings. Damn.
Aida Osman
For what a man.
Lacey Mosley
Imagine this is your bucket list, bro. Like, the last thing on your bucket list is like, I'm gonna go to the bar, the Bobby. I can't my. Y'all know my listening is very.
Aida Osman
No, you was killing it before. Go back.
Lacey Mosley
I was, but it's gone now.
Aida Osman
Running back.
Lacey Mosley
God gave me a little bit, but then was like, no more. But these people were excited about this. This was their bucket list. And you taking all their savings. But also, if you blowing your savings online dancing, did you really need your savings? Like, come on now. Don't act like you out of house at home. You gave it up for line dancing. And if you had had the experience, you would have been fine with it. So.
Aida Osman
Also, you about to kick the can anyway, so I don't know what you need that money for. Yeah, where you going with it? Where you going with all that?
Lacey Mosley
Where you going with it? To the grave. Let's get up. Get that money up. So the men who have been a part of the line dancing community for 15 years are alleged to have used the trust that they built to scam over $120,000 from more than 100 people. Some victims allegedly paid as much as $10,000 for fraudulent trips and social events. Oh, this is sad. This is line dancing. People were lonely.
Aida Osman
Yo, this is devastating. You know what's up? Actually, I can't say this. This is really. Never mind.
Lacey Mosley
Go ahead.
Aida Osman
I was about to be like, 120k ain't even that much.
Lacey Mosley
I'm like, it's not. No, it's.
Aida Osman
No, it is, but it's not.
Lacey Mosley
Like, you can say it. It is, but it's not.
Aida Osman
It's like, to do all that. Like, it's 120k. I'm like, oh, they could buy like three, four cars if they want mediocre ones. But like, what are they gonna get off that?
Lacey Mosley
Like 120k is year changing money. Maybe 2 years. It's not life changing money.
Aida Osman
God, the value of a dollar is really me up. Now that I'm a grown person. Like, I know what money is worth.
Lacey Mosley
It's so bullshit and I'm so disrespectful towards it. I used to. I told you, I used to stretch that 20 and now, oh, choppy now.
Aida Osman
I don't even know. I couldn't even tell you what $20 could get me. Truly don't know. The idea of a meal, the idea of a drink.
Lacey Mosley
We sound like homegirl from Arrested Development. What does a banana cost, bitch?
Aida Osman
It's not our fault.
Lacey Mosley
We live.
Aida Osman
You live in la, right? Right?
Lacey Mosley
Yes, it's very.
Aida Osman
We live in here fucked up city. It's like I can't even buy nothing. Like a bottle of wine is like $100.
Lacey Mosley
You come to LA, you can get yourself a 500 square foot apartment for $2 million. And I'm not even kidding, I saw one and I was like, I want to take a tour of this place. Not because I want it, but I just want to fight the realtor for the audacity. Like, I pull up so I have a fist of cuffs.
Aida Osman
Because why do you. Why do you represent this place? Are you proud representing this place right here?
Lacey Mosley
Ass. 500 square feet. Y'all got nerve. Okay? Nerve. So Queensland police said that a number of victims was like growing daily, so they were going, ham. We got a tweet from the police. We're gonna read the tweet from the police. It's a picture of. Oh, my God. A very unsavory looking man.
Aida Osman
Oh, God.
Lacey Mosley
And it says, have you been a victim of this fraudulent activity related to line dancing events, including overseas and domestic travel? Questions, Mark? Do you recognize this man? Question, mark? We believe he may be able to assist with our inquiries.
Aida Osman
First of all, I can't even focus. I can't focus because Australians spell recognized with a S instead of a Z and that pisses me off. Use the Z. What's it there for?
Lacey Mosley
Sound. Recognize. Recognize, Recognize. What do you reckon us, they like?
Aida Osman
We don't like to use the zed. Nice. Shut the up.
Lacey Mosley
Do you? J. Rocket N. What the.
Aida Osman
So this man, this man looked like. I don't even know what he looked like.
Lacey Mosley
Why would you give that man your money.
Aida Osman
That man gotta pay me to look at him.
Lacey Mosley
He looked like a extra rat in ratatouille. Like, he wasn't the main rat.
Aida Osman
He looked like the understudy.
Lacey Mosley
He the rat told me, like, yeah, he like, we'll use you if we need you, Bill. Okay? I'll be here. Like, it's giving y'all.
Aida Osman
If y'all. When y'all see this photo, you'll understand that Lacy is making this joke because of the size of this man's mouth. It is giving chipmunk. It is giving gerbil. Like, it is not. It's nice rodent, like, to say the least, right?
Lacey Mosley
I'm like, is this Alvin? Alvin, is that you? Where are your brothers? Are your brothers here, right? I guess he got one with him. I'm like, is this the scam? It's just Alvin in the gym box. But yeah. It's interesting to me, though, now that law enforcement and the FBI and stuff are using Twitter. And I've talked about this before, like, to try to catch people, and I'm like, bro, don't you get city? Like, we pay taxes for y'all to be able to do y'all job. What am I gonna do it for on Twitter for?
Aida Osman
Exactly. Y'all don't pay me. There is no bounty. Put a bounty over a head and then I'm snitching, right?
Lacey Mosley
Until then, ease.
Aida Osman
Exactly.
Lacey Mosley
What happened to bounties?
Aida Osman
I miss a bounty.
Lacey Mosley
Okay, I want a wanted poster on the street, and then I'll help America's most.
Aida Osman
Exactly right.
Lacey Mosley
We ain't doing this. So he said it was only in the last 12 months that the men had potentially begun the fraudulent activity after years of building up trust in the community. That's a long con. Facebook post from a grieved customer said that the father and son were going through health issues. The two men remain on the run. I love that no one's caught in this episode. Amen. The Queensland Line Dancing association distance itself from Brett Jenkins. They released a statement saying, I would like to reiter that Brett Jenkins is not and has never been a member of our association. We have no affiliation whatsoever with him in his capacity as a line dancing instructor or with his travel company. So they were like, we're stepping away from this. We're not involved. Come over here. Pay money to line dance with us Australians.
Aida Osman
This is a mess. This whole story is a mess. Because I can't even sympathize because I would never be scammed to line dance. Like, I don't even know where your head is at that you're willing to give this much money away, first of all, to white men. Second of all to line dance. That's not an activity that you need to be investing in.
Lacey Mosley
You don't even equipment for that. Like, what y'all got lined? This is special footwear. Like outfits that match. Like, I'm confused. Like, there's nothing a part of this that you need to purchase things for. And if you need to purchase, maybe.
Aida Osman
It was like a barn party. They be doing that, barn parties.
Lacey Mosley
And if you gonna have a trip though, you will pay for the trip out of pocket. Like, the only thing you'll be paying for is to show up for the line function. Like what?
Aida Osman
How these niggas don't deserve their money. That's what it is. You don't want it. You don't need it in your life. God took it from you. Bye.
Lacey Mosley
That's why you gave it up. You knew you didn't deserve it and so you gave it away to the line dancing something deep in you.
Aida Osman
Yo, that's crazy. That's deep seated. That's psychological. That's that point.
Lacey Mosley
You scamming yourself and that happens. It's called desperation. We talk about the despo meter all the time. How desperate are you? You really have to think when a situation is shady and you're moving forward. Why are you moving forward? Do you really need it? And then think about that. Are you ignoring the flags because you need it?
Aida Osman
Girl, you act like we have time for self reflection. I'm sad. I don't have time to think about take my money.
Lacey Mosley
Truly, I do too much self reflection. I'm so sick of this talking to me. And by this, I mean me, Lacy Mosley, because she be talk all the time or, you know, make sure you're not doing too. I'm like, girl, shut up. I'm trying to live.
Aida Osman
I'm trying to be ignorant while I still can. Stop making me grow.
Lacey Mosley
This empathy is killing me.
Aida Osman
It really is.
Lacey Mosley
I'm giving the up. I already told y'all on this podcast, when I turn 50, I'm turning evil. It's a rap. Okay? I'm about to be evil as so I can sleep good.
Aida Osman
I had to recently quit meditating because I'm just becoming too strong and I don't like it. I don't like it. I had. I had to stop. I need to maintain a level of ignorance to be a comedian. First of all, because we're gonna say reckless. We gotta speak our truth and My truth was becoming peace. And I don't like that.
Lacey Mosley
I don't like that you got too peaceful. Like, I need a little anger to fuel what's happening over here.
Aida Osman
I need to maintain some toxicity so I can get paid.
Lacey Mosley
I'm too zen. Too zen.
Aida Osman
Gotta go.
Lacey Mosley
Gotta go do some toxic. I understand that and I have done it. Yes. Guys, we're at the end of the episode.
Aida Osman
We really are.
Lacey Mosley
And a. We always ask on this podcast, where do you want to be found?
Aida Osman
Where do I want to be found? I want to be found at just a common ground where you can meet me where I'm at and give me.
Lacey Mosley
The love and light.
Aida Osman
Okay? I'm on all social media and venmos and cash apps and all types of monetary. Everything is shut up by you. And once I get my website popping, it's going to be shut up by you. Because I got to say it before y'all say it to me because I know you about to say it to me because all I do is talk after my neck.
Lacey Mosley
And I love it.
Aida Osman
I am online and act like I have no home training, but I was raised in a very pious Muslim household. So I just want y'all to know that's where I'm coming from. You can find me online at Shut up, Aida. And then also I have a podcast for crooked media called Keep it where me and my co host Ira, who you guys know Ira Madison iii and emphasis on the third, will not let you forget. Forget. And Louis Vertel, my in house white gay, the only one that I maintain in my life. We have a. We have a show where we talk about the cross sections of politics and pop culture and we get really messy and we don't give a about nothing. And that's why all your favorite rappers have us blocked. So come through. Yeah, we talk about everything. We have a lot of fun over there. We really just try and be smart. We try and be smart, but it's really just being like. Y'all remember when Beyonce and Tina tried to do a fashion brand Pre Ivy Park? Y'all remember that?
Lacey Mosley
Darion? Let's not talk about it because I went in there and tried to get. I said, beyonce, I wanted to look like you. Why? Why you got me out here buying puffy coats and. And baby fat gray value? It hurt my heart.
Aida Osman
Well, first of all, we will never look like Beyonce or Solange because we don't have Ms. Tina Knowles as our mother and seamstress. Like that is just an impossible.
Lacey Mosley
She always gave the best looks it was always like, Ms. Tina would go to the fabric store and be like, give me a roll of that. And then whatever she had left over after making Beyonce's outfit, she would like, cut that up and give it to Kelly. And then the rest, like, if it was something on the road, she would wrap that around Michelle and be like, all right, prosper.
Aida Osman
My. My favorite was when she just took the whole role and pinned one of it to Solange's right hip and then continued the role to another right hip of a background singer. And it ended up beautiful. But they was all just connected by this, like, Joanne's fabric. 10 foot strip of just beautiful velvet. So y'all check that out.
Lacey Mosley
But Tina's an icon.
Aida Osman
She really is. Oh, my God. So tell me why. I was in NoHo at the theater that she has up there, and Tina was there. Tina was there watching. Oh, girl, girl. Tina Knowles has touched my shoulder and I have not bathed since, bitch.
Lacey Mosley
And you shouldn't never bathe again. I once was on a plane, I had to do some work at Essence Festival and was coming back and Miss Tina was on my plane and I said, oh, child, I never. I have anxiety about planes. Like, So I was like, it was the first time I ever got on a plane. I was like, well, I know this ain't gonna crash, cuz Miss Tina's on it.
Aida Osman
He said, God is protecting at least.
Lacey Mosley
One of us, and it ain't me, right? I'm gonna get some residual protection. I'm gonna be, you know, plus one protection.
Aida Osman
I love that for you. I love that you felt safe in that moment. Because last time I was on a plane. Tell me why I walked through first class and it's Stephen A. Smith. I don't know.
Lacey Mosley
That might have gone up in flames.
Aida Osman
I was like, we definitely gonna die now because this man is a walking sin. A walking. Anyway, so. So yes, y'all can catch me on those social medias and also listen to Keep it. We drop every Wednesday morning and yeah. And we disrespect. We disrespect you.
Lacey Mosley
And it's popping. Y'all just got blessed because it's. If y'all didn't know already, which pretty much everybody knows best, most lit guest have everybody, every celeb, every corner of the world, like, it's popping. So get into it.
Aida Osman
Oh, wait. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry. Before you get out, I got a quick plug because I just started TV writing last year. And in that meantime, we are in this. How we so in this bitch. Also Big Mouth Season 5 will drop in the coming year but most importantly Betty on hbo the show about a bunch of rowdy skateboarding and I love that show.
Lacey Mosley
I love that show. I love the first season. It was so cute. I love writing and there was so much about skateboarding I didn't know like the dynam women and how the men act. And of course men are trash in every industry but like learning about it.
Aida Osman
I was like the only constant. The only constant is that men suck everywhere.
Lacey Mosley
Men will not let you down when it comes to being trash. You could always count on that. Count on me. They trash behavior never ends when you are weak. It's cause of them. Know why? I don't know where that came from.
Aida Osman
But I'm happy it came is what I am.
