This week, Laci welcomes Kevin Ninh, aka FlawlessKevin (Squid Game: The Challenge), to unpack the story behind the viral cryptocurrency SQUID — a scam that rode the wave of the first season of Squid Game on Netflix. The creators made off with approximately $2.5 million, inspiring the second season of the show to feature a crypto scammer character who exploits fellow players on the island. Plus, in Scammer of the Week, a California pastor and former city council member is hit with an 11-count federal indictment after allegedly defrauding friends and a nonprofit out of more than $230,000. There's a new psychological thriller from Audible you've got to check out Sacrilege Curse of Mbiri. It stars Caleb McLachlan from Stranger Things and was written and directed by Naisha Hatendi and presented in spectacular Dolby atmos. Here's the setup. The Wallace family's vacation at a luxury game reserve in Zimbabwe unravels when Deshawn Wallace, played by McLoughlin, unwittingly desecrates hallowed ground and unleashes the Mbiri, a vengeful entity born from cent of colonial oppression. Listen to Sacrilege Curse of the Mbiri by going to audible.com sacrilege. Y' all know when your hair kind of gets, like, greasy and. And you need to wash it, but you don't have time to wash it? Enter Batiste Light. Batiste Light blends in seamlessly with your hair, leaving none of that white residue. And your hair looks clean and it feels clean. Okay. I like Batiste Light because whenever my hair is feeling, like, greasy or oily, you know, when I've wrapped it too many times or what, I can put that in my hair and it kind of wakes it back up, you know what I mean? Without it looking white or powdery or, you know, like I just put a bunch of baby powder in my hair or something. You know what I mean? Buy Batiste Light Dry shampoo online or in store at your nearest retailer. Scam. Ca. Robbery and fraud.
Flawless Kevin
Scam.
Lacey Mosley
Robbery and fraud. Scam Goddess. What's poppin, Congregation? It's your girl. Scam goddess. And I'm back with another installment of the podcast, all about robbery, fraud, and those who practice it. Sometimes we love them, sometimes we hate them, sometimes we're confused by them. You really just never know. And Congregation, you already know. I'm very. What? Yes. Excited. I haven't said that in a while. I keep the girlies on their toes a little bit. Okay, we've been switching it up just a bit. Okay, today we have a content queen on the show. Someone who's been killing a YouTube game since 2010. Okay. This is one of the first people on YouTube when YouTube was starting to get cute. What was I doing in 2010? Crime. So this beauty blogger has taken the flawless fam. Love that name. On a journey from lifestyle DIY to life advice, LGBTQ content. And more recently, she was Player 187 in Netflix's Squid game the challenge. Some, like myself, has speculated that Player 187 might have sparked admiration and inspired for inspiration for Squid Game. Season two, where there was a character, Cho Hon Joo, that people saw some. Some similarities with, and I want to know how she feels about that and what she thinks about that. But, congregation, first, I want to let you know that I'm thrilled to invite this queen to our show for the first time. Flawless Kevin, welcome to.
Flawless Kevin
Thank you for having me.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Thank you for being here. So, first, I have to debunk this scam. Is it a myth or is it true? What do you think about the squid game season 2 inspiration?
Flawless Kevin
I would like to think that I was the inspiration.
Lacey Mosley
I think so too.
Flawless Kevin
But I had, like, no screen time on my time on the challenge, and so I'm not sure if they were able to see that unless they've seen my content about the show, perhaps, or it's just pure coincidence, which, hey, I'm not mad about now.
Lacey Mosley
You've been doing YouTube since 2010. That's. You don't even look like you've been doing anything for 15 years. Okay. Gaming fetus. But when you started as a baby, like, what got you into this type of content? And, like, how's it been doing that?
Flawless Kevin
Well, I feel like it's been such a long journey, but initially, the whole reason why I started creating videos in the first place was because I was bullied in high school.
Lacey Mosley
Okay?
Flawless Kevin
And so, long story short, it was week in high school. We love those. It was what not to wear day. And so for me, I decided to wear a cat sweater with stuffed animal cats tied around my body, and I carried around a basket full of kittens. And then during lunch, my friend shows me this tweet, and this guy tweeted something really homophobic along the lines of gay guys who wear a cat sweater and carry a basket full of kittens should go to hell and die fags.
Lacey Mosley
Okay. That's very specific, right?
Flawless Kevin
I'm like, who else could that be?
Lacey Mosley
That's specific bigotry that we're doing now. And they're also made. Kevin. What?
Flawless Kevin
I took that, and instead of dwelling in sadness, I decided to make a storytime video in hopes of inspiring people with my story and saying, hey, like, be yourself, regardless of the haters. And so I posted that initially on Facebook, and it got such positive reception from students, classmates, even parents. And so I continued to create content on Facebook. And then one day, somebody opened up the idea of making a YouTube channel, and I'm like, duh.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Flawless Kevin
So thus, Flawless Kevin was born.
Lacey Mosley
I love it. And also that you've been such an inspiration to other LGBTQs. Youth, because we need those real bad.
Flawless Kevin
Yes.
Lacey Mosley
Somebody who can show us, like, oh, look how cute you are and how. How you thriving. Like, whoever this bully is that's in my high school, like, he'll be living a sad ass life in five years.
Flawless Kevin
True.
Lacey Mosley
Give it five years time. He a bum. You heard it here first.
Flawless Kevin
That part.
Lacey Mosley
You could be gracious, but I can call him a bum. And I heard he was ugly. Yeah, I've seen him. Oh, yes, ugly is as ugly does. An ugly acts. Well, thank you for letting me have a nice moment where I could berate somebody in high school who was trash. Um, but I feel like that was.
Flawless Kevin
Very healing for me. I needed that.
Lacey Mosley
Yes, and you've healed so many people. Well, I do have to ask you what your relationship to scams is. Do you love them? Do you hate them? Have you ever seen any that you really liked or hated? Have any been run on you? It could be anything.
Flawless Kevin
I feel like I'm a pretty intelligent and well versed person to not be scammed, but I feel like I get the occasional scams when it comes to, like, perhaps relationships. You know, I'm a hopeless romantic, so I feel like I could maybe be scammed in that sense.
Lacey Mosley
Okay. A little romance fraud. Romance fraud can get us all. I mean, every man is a scam, especially the ones named Matt. Those are all scams. Matt and John scams. And you know you are.
Flawless Kevin
Yeah, Clock John. Clock the John.
Lacey Mosley
I know what you are. And they know too.
Flawless Kevin
Jonathan, Johnny. Anything along the lines?
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, why y' all trying to do so many variations of that name? Jonathan, Johnny, John, John. No H. Either way, I've been screwed.
Flawless Kevin
Over by all of those versions.
Lacey Mosley
The Haitian was Jean. Oh. Mm. They even put some seasoning on it. Okay. They made some jerk chicken jeans and we were like, we'll take it. It seems new and different. No. I have a good friend named Jean. Ellie, Jean, I'm sorry, but you are a scam. Yeah. Sorry to y' all. Sorry to those men. But yeah, I think relationships for sure have so much rife for scams because people need love and. And there's always somebody who's trying to get something out of us, so.
Flawless Kevin
Right.
Lacey Mosley
I mean, I'm trying to think. Have I ever have? Oh, yes. I've totally been scammed in relationships, but in specific ways that are goofy to me. Now, I don't know if you have any instances, but I remember once I went on a few dates with a man who so one lied and told me that he was Puerto Rican. Oh, yes. And there was no reason to tell. Like, okay, so I was speaking. We met in a boxing class in college.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, hot.
Lacey Mosley
And, you know, some people are in college when they take boxing classes, but you can also just take a credit for a boxing class. And, like, in Pittsburgh, I guess it was cheaper to do that. I didn't know, though. So I thought he was just one of us. And no shade if he wasn't. But shade that he was lying. But I was speaking Spanish to someone, and he was like, oh, I speak Spanish too. Like, in Spanish. And I was like, oh, yeah. Where are you from? He was like, yeah, I'm from Puerto Rico. Cutsu. We go on a date. That's not a date. Because.
Flawless Kevin
Because these men can't plan a date for shit, girl.
Lacey Mosley
Why? Why? We go to the student cafetorium.
Flawless Kevin
That's the date.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. And I'm thinking, you know what? We are in college, so that's fine. Like. But then when it got to the swiping point, he started looking around like, oh, I don't have a dining card. And so I had to swipe us both in. So I'm already like, oh, girl. Okay. So we go into the various food stations and get our food and sit down. I'm already, like, over it. As soon as I swipe that little picture panther car, my Cujo was like.
Flawless Kevin
She said my FAFSA kicked in.
Lacey Mosley
Oh. I was like, nope. Ooh, wow. A chastity belt just appeared. Okay, that's crazy. So we sit down, and he's like, telling me about his life, and I was like, oh, well, your parents. And somehow he had mentioned that he was biracial, and he was like, yeah. Like, my mom's white. My dad's black. I was like, okay, cool. So who was Puerto Rican?
Flawless Kevin
Oh.
Lacey Mosley
Cause you can be any race and be like, puerto Rican.
Flawless Kevin
Yeah, call him out.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. So I was just like, who's Puerto Rican? He was like, oh, no, I'm not Puerto Rican. And I was like, you. Would you tell me that you. I mean, it doesn't. You don't have to be Puerto Rican, but, I mean, it was a weird thing to lie about. And so then he. I was like, oh, what do you do for a living? At this point, I don't even know why I'm entertaining this. And he was like, oh, for a living? He was like, I work at a bank. Well, I used to.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, God. And I said, okay, girl, run.
Lacey Mosley
I was like, why don't you work at the bank anymore? You switch jobs. Like, I don't know why I'm still like, I think at this point, my scammer instincts were like, now I'm just interested. I just wanna know whatever about you. And he was like, oh, it was just a little insider trading. And I was like, a little insider trading, huh? And I was like, okay, well, when did you get outta jail? He was like, oh, they didn't prosecute me, but they just let me go. Oh. And I was like, well, how did they find out? He was like, well, I did brag about it a little bit around the office. I said, bitch, no.
Flawless Kevin
No.
Lacey Mosley
So you are a weird liar. You're not Puerto Rican. You're broke and you're dumb.
Flawless Kevin
Red flags. Red flags. Run, mama.
Lacey Mosley
And you scam me, have a free meal. And I don't even think you go here.
Flawless Kevin
Yeah, you'd even get a free meal out of it.
Lacey Mosley
And I don't even think he'd go there for real. I don't think he went there. When I started looking at him, I never saw him on campus again because.
Flawless Kevin
He wasn't Puerto Rican. You were looking for the wrong race, mama.
Lacey Mosley
I don't know if he went back to Puerto Rico. I don't know. I don't know what happened to him. But that's when I realized maybe he didn't go here.
Flawless Kevin
Yeah, he just needed a free meal.
Lacey Mosley
He did.
Flawless Kevin
You were his meal card.
Lacey Mosley
I was? Wow.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, my God. No, I have not been scammed, like, legit. I feel like I catch it before it's about to happen. There's so many people who. I've seen, like, Netflix documentaries about her if they've been scammed. Money. Oh, that's never happened to me, thank God, because I have self respect.
Lacey Mosley
Okay, we do not shame. We do not shame here. Okay? Anybody can think somebody's in college and Puerto Rican and then, you know, you were young.
Flawless Kevin
It's okay.
Lacey Mosley
Swipe them in.
Flawless Kevin
You were young.
Lacey Mosley
You know, the young and the old, those are the biggest communities because they're both very, you know, protective classes and need things.
Flawless Kevin
I mean, recently I can think of. I got, I guess, catfished by a guy. Who was he even using? I guess it was someone's pictures, but he AI'd someone else's face onto his body or something. It was weird.
Lacey Mosley
Wow.
Flawless Kevin
But, you know, being girls, I reverse Google image that shit. And I was able to, like, you.
Lacey Mosley
Know, was it given too perfect? Like, was the face given too much and the body was given too much too, and you were suspicious or do you always reverse image search?
Flawless Kevin
It was Suspicious because I saw a video, and he aied even the video, and at one point, like, the face was disfigured for, like, a split second.
Lacey Mosley
Now he put his hand on his face, and it was like, doo, doo. Yes, yes.
Flawless Kevin
Essentially, that's what it was. And I was like, hold on. I was like, what is this? And so I called him out, and he blocked me. So I almost got scammed out of that.
Lacey Mosley
He was closer to your door than you thought. But what's interesting about that to me is, like, in an AI scam where it's like catfishing, I'm like, are you eventually gonna try to ask me for some coins? Because when I meet up, I'm gonna be like, who are you? I mean, like, we can never meet in person. Because I would be like, who? Who? Why are you coming up to my table? Like, stranger?
Flawless Kevin
I mean, whether they're asking for money directly or for you to, like, subscribe to them in a sort of way, you know, that's their end goal. It's just monetary value.
Lacey Mosley
Or there are some scammers who get specific with it, and I think that that is more elusive. Like, they'll ask you to buy something for them. So, like, you don't feel like you're giving your money away. You kind of feel like you're buying something that they need, even though that's still a monetary equ Equivalent. I've seen that in many ways, especially in scam churches where, like, they target youth people, like, youthful people who are in a new area who have good jobs. You know, they try to find them at the mall, or they have, you know, other attractive people coming up to them, and they're like, come to this church and like, oh, we're not going to ask you for all your money. But it's like, oh, the church needs new lamps. Who can get the lamps?
Flawless Kevin
Like, who would buy. I don't understand, like, lonely people who.
Lacey Mosley
Want friends their own age in a new city where their family doesn't live. So they buy some lamps because they're thinking, these are lamps. I'm illuminating God's house. But really, they're still getting scammed.
Flawless Kevin
Right. They just take advantage of the vulnerable people.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Which typically is what scammers do. But you caught yours with the wavy face, and I'm proud of you. I did catch mine as soon as he was. Yeah, he wasn't Puerto Rican, and I was like, okay, let me fungo my ass out of here. But he did get a swipe. Lacey, how much was it? So the money that I paid for. Like, when you get a dining card, you can get a certain meal plan. So fortunately, I had, like, an unlimited swipe, so I could. Which meant you get three a day. So I did use two swipes that day, so.
Flawless Kevin
So you were starving for a meal?
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, I was starving like Marvin.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, my God.
Lacey Mosley
Mm.
Flawless Kevin
Over not even a real man.
Lacey Mosley
Well, not a real man at all. He took money out of a United Negro College Fund student's mouth. And Kaden. I never was a part of the United Negro College Fund, but I am with other Negroes, so that's the same thing. We all know each other, so he did it to all of us.
Flawless Kevin
Oh. Mm.
Lacey Mosley
Mm. Scams. Y' all know how Amazon was just previously used to, you know, go on and get something very specific. Like you want some earrings that look like Michelle Obama or something like, just very specific that you can't buy in a store. Well, now, Amazon is a great place to get all your essentials. You can get your toiletries. You can have them scheduled to deliver your toiletries, which I do because I've been running out of toilet paper, and that's very embarrassing. Like, to be on the toilet and you don't have no paper. Like, that's. That's very sad and embarrassing. Can't believe I told y' all that. But next time you run out of coffee or realize you out of light bulbs, don't be in the dark. Amazon has you covered. Save every day with deals from Amazon. That's the sound of summertime. Sun sizzling on your skin, Eggs cooking on a hot sidewalk. As temperatures rise, it's the perfect time to refresh your wardrobe. Not with just summer essentials, but versatile pieces for every season ahead. Everything from Quinn's is half the cost of similar brands because they work directly with top artisans and cut out the middleman, giving you luxury without the markup. So y' all know I have, like, the summertime dresses, and they're so easy to put on. And sometimes I just need to put on one thing and button it up because I'm so tired. Quinn's can give you everything. They also have jewelry, y' all. You really need to get into it. Give your summer closet an upgrade with quince. Go to quince.com goddess for free shipping on your order and 365 day returns. That's Q-U-I-N-C-E.com goddess to get free shipping and 365 day returns. Quince.com goddess God. But okay, let's get into our Historic hoodwink, which I knew you would be perfect for, Kevin, because you were close to this. I don. If Jess told you what we're talking about.
Flawless Kevin
But briefly.
Lacey Mosley
In 2021, the creators of the cryptocurrency Squid coin capitalized on the viral popularity of the first season of the show Squid Game and successfully defrauded investors out of millions of real actual dollars. Now, you didn't have nothing to do with this. I know that you were on the reality TV show and neither did these actors, but someone was just using their photos and the popularity of the show to shill this coin. And, like, look at this. So this coin was called sqd.
Flawless Kevin
Mm. I would have bound that. That's guarddaddy. Mm.
Lacey Mosley
See, I think I would be more likely to buy it if it was one of the green players because you already telling me you gonna shoot me with the photo.
Flawless Kevin
I think the mask is kinda hot.
Lacey Mosley
The mask is hot. But everybody knew Mask was a murderer.
Flawless Kevin
I mean, what can I say?
Lacey Mosley
I just feel like you should use like, player. 450. What was he? 458.
Flawless Kevin
56.
Lacey Mosley
456. Like, you know, have some green on. Be a good guy. I feel like if I saw a picture, it was just like Manson.
Flawless Kevin
They don't have variations of the coin.
Lacey Mosley
It's just that maybe they did you see you. You might have been really good.
Flawless Kevin
If they had the doll, I would.
Lacey Mosley
Not have gone that one. No. Yes. We know you wouldn't do the crime, but I think you would have made the crime more cunty. I will say that. Yes. Cause this. Even the emoji could be better. Like, I just feel like it could have been cuter, but it was like, legit looking. And this is always hard for people because bitcoin is so nebulous. And it's really like something that millennials came up with. Because I feel like enough of us couldn't take over the stock market because people won't die. So. And they're hoarding the wealth. So we're like, we need some wealth too. Online money. I mean, cryptocurrency technically is also US dollars, yen, everything. How you transfer stuff on Venmo or Cash App or whatever. You're technically sending cryptocurrency, but I can go print that money out. And it's also backed by like, the FDIC or something up to like $250,000 in your account, but against fraud. But. And sometimes they don't. The fdic, really? It has to be like a business that scammed You. Because you can't really call them up when, like, you know, squid games ran your pockets, they'll be like, girl, we are not involved.
Flawless Kevin
I mean, who is this right to them? They're like, that's the whole point.
Lacey Mosley
They were like, we don't know you, so it can only be like large financial crimes. They're like, girl, we don't know you or where your $25 is and why you weren't at Sunco. So we not helping. But like, that's why these are kind of hard. Because you're like, it is money, but it isn't. If enough people believe something is a thing, isn't it a thing?
Flawless Kevin
I mean, I don't even know what the hell the bitcoin is, mama.
Lacey Mosley
But it's just like paper money. We all said, look at these trees. They have value. And we all just agreed. Right? But really, if the paper didn't have value that we put on it, would the paper be valuable?
Flawless Kevin
No, it's a human made thing.
Lacey Mosley
It's like, if I said this is worth $10,000 and everybody believes it, then it is.
Flawless Kevin
That's nutty, right?
Lacey Mosley
Girl, I feel like I got a spiritual scam book in me. It'd be mostly about crime, but I could make it. Woo woo. What do you think?
Flawless Kevin
Like what?
Lacey Mosley
Like, I already wrote my book Scam Goddess, and that's more like the steps in life that have taken me where I am and some lessons I've learned. But I feel like there's a spiritual scam Godd I could start a church with where it's like, everything is a scam. Create the life you want.
Flawless Kevin
That's just a cult.
Lacey Mosley
Okay.
Flawless Kevin
She'S trying to be a cult leader.
Lacey Mosley
Okay. But no nasty man is gonna come out. I'm not gonna make nobody play volleyball. You don't have to get tatted. That's how you get initiated right now. And not unless you really want to prove your loyalty. Me? And get a tattoo. But I would never encourage it. I'd just be like, wow, I am impressed. Here's your robe. But I didn't tell him to do that. I.
Flawless Kevin
A robe?
Lacey Mosley
Now you're part of the High Council. I don't know. Okay, but it would be like, we would do community service and yeah, I'm gonna need a little bit of your income. But that's just to keep. What? She's not convinced at all.
Flawless Kevin
I'm scared.
Lacey Mosley
So when we brought you onto this podcast, it was really more of me trying to get you to join my cult. I Just feel like you're very influential.
Flawless Kevin
You messing with the wrong one. I know. Too much. Maybe. Maybe younger me would have been like, oh, okay, that sounds fine.
Lacey Mosley
I mean, I'm talking high leadership position here, you know, Coo.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, I get to have a position in the cult.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, yes.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, now we're talking.
Lacey Mosley
Immediately.
Flawless Kevin
I thought you were just having me be one of the minions.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. It would be. It would be beautiful gowns, but. But you would be having real responsibilities.
Flawless Kevin
You know what? That sounds like a power duo.
Lacey Mosley
I'm saying. I'm just saying we could really. I mean, look, so we're talking about squid coin. So I just want to give you guys a refresher on crypto, because I know what I just said was, like, kind of grandiose, and it still doesn't make sense, does it? I need to still learn, because it don't make sense if you can't explain to me, like, I'm five. It don't make sense. And so we've talked about crypto before. I'm going to do my best with you guys. And we've gone. We've done, like, episodes on Jerry Cotton, the crypto king, and on Sam Bakeman freed, who they really made an example out of Sam and threw the whole book in the library at him, even though he was not the only person who was involved in his crimes. So sometimes I feel for him because it was like, he just, like, did it the best. And they were like, you're such a winner. We have to put you in prison forever. So people will stop. They're not going to stop, though. So. And this is Sam right here, if you haven't seen him. Oh, yes. He was getting haircuts in prison for a while. It seems that he might have run out of beef jerky. No, I don't think he has anything to barter with right now. It's giving my ramen supplies low. I need it for, you know, sustainability, and I hate that for him. I really do.
Flawless Kevin
I know he need a haircut.
Lacey Mosley
He really does. He just looks like he regrets every choice he's made. Like, his eyes are haunted.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, no, not ooh. Yeah. I feel bad.
Lacey Mosley
I do. I just feel like every day, his gaze just gives me, like, I'm looking at a grave site, but, like, all the time gaze. Yeah, grave. Oh, he would be happy to see some gays, especially with that hair. Like, oh, poor Sam. But anyways, he was basically one of the biggest people to fall from this. And in case You've missed this on what crypto is and why. In just a word, it would have stopped being a thing after the 2011 Bitcoin crash. Or after 2015, or after 2018 or after 2024. These are all crashes that have happened with crypto.
Flawless Kevin
That's me and all my mental crushes.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, same. I love a minty beat. I have to make it cute. Just like a little minty breakdown. It's self care, but you see how.
Flawless Kevin
It'S every like three years. It's not so often.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. I'm actually working on spreading out the time in between each one and accepting that they're gonna happen.
Flawless Kevin
Right. It's better to have one big one than like little mini ones all the time.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. And I really try to have mine in the house. You know, if you're gonna do it anywhere, do it in the house.
Flawless Kevin
It's the safest place.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. And just don't come out until you're ready to really serve again. But sometimes you gotta just have it in the house. Put on some television show that has like 22 seasons with 38 episodes each, and you work it out.
Flawless Kevin
I love that. I need that.
Lacey Mosley
See, if you join my organization, my spiritual organization, these are the kinds of things we'll be sharing with the world.
Flawless Kevin
Ooh, maybe they'd be on it.
Lacey Mosley
I'm hoping to get you by the end of the episode. So cryptocurrency is a digital currency. And we know about bitcoin. Right. It's used as an alternative payment method or speculative investment. So you store your crypto online and you use it for Internet based purchases, or you just hold onto it, hoping it'll increase in value over time, like a stock or gold or Pokemon card. But crypto has no real intrinsic value, like we talked about with legal tender, like money, where it's like issued by a government or commodity based currencies that are backed by gold or silver. Crypto, it just exists in our minds.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, like my imaginary husband.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Like, you can't call Mr. Crypto. I think you can manifest your husband, but Mr. Crypto, we can't find him. We don't even know who made bitcoin. Oh, yeah. So. And it's so, like, complicated to explain. It also helps with people getting involved in it because I just explained it and I know some of y' all out there like, huh? And we're always gonna be like, huh.
Flawless Kevin
So it's imaginary. When does it get value then?
Lacey Mosley
When we decide.
Flawless Kevin
So what if I said right now, you know what I Mean, I invest in the Squid Game. Bitcoin.
Lacey Mosley
If enough people do decide that they believe a coin is going to be successful, then usually, and I don't want to foreshadow this too much, but a lot of, you know, like, people start buying it and it increases in value, right? Then the person who holds the most shares can do something extremely unethical, which is called a rug pull. So they can be like, hey, y' all, get involved, get involved. Buy, buy, buy stock. Or the coin goes up. It's more valuable. We're all winning. We're all making money. I have the most shares. And so if I take all of my shares out, all of your shares decrease exponentially. I get to walk with your money. And because Squid Game is so popular, they were able to go viral and get a lot of people involved. Again, all of this hella made up. Wish I had thought of it myself. Sounds great.
Flawless Kevin
So we could create a bitcoin right now if we wanted to.
Lacey Mosley
Scam. But scam is a dollar sign. I think that might already exist. We need something better than that.
Flawless Kevin
We need to patent it. I know. Copyrighted.
Lacey Mosley
I feel like it needs to be more woo woo. Like, what about sage?
Flawless Kevin
Ooh, witchy vibes.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, just like a little teensy witchy.
Flawless Kevin
It has to be a little cunty.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah.
Flawless Kevin
For us.
Lacey Mosley
Yes.
Flawless Kevin
You're convincing me not to be part of this cult.
Lacey Mosley
I'm telling you, it's gonna be cleansing. I'm telling you. So if there's no institution backing a currency, I'm just gonna try to break it down one more. Again, y' all, Who? Let's say we got a guy named Craig. Okay.
Flawless Kevin
Craigslist.
Lacey Mosley
Craigslist. Yes, Craig. Craig has moved on from the list. Right. And so it's just one guy named Craig. He dropped his list and he's declaring now that one Craig coin is worth $2 or whatever. That ends up not working out for anyone but Craig. One example of this is what happened with Squid Coin, which I just kind of foreshadowed a bit and told you the whole thing. And Jess was looking at me like, girl, please. And I was like, no, I've already started. So. So Squid Game. The first season of Squid Game was released worldwide September 17, 2021. Did you watch it, Kevin?
Flawless Kevin
Well, yes.
Lacey Mosley
And what did you think?
Flawless Kevin
Oh, my God. I actually saw a clip of it on TikTok before I even realized it was like a Netflix show. It was red light, green light, and I don't know. I just love a good competitive Hunger Games. Aspect to it, like a battle royale. And so I was like, what is this? And then one thing led to another. It became the most viewed Netflix show in history.
Lacey Mosley
Exactly what I was just about to say. And also, I feel like there is something nostalgic about watching a bunch of that. Typically, we all know how to play. But then also learning about some childhood games in Korean culture that I had no idea about that I thought were super cool. But I know it'd be nostalgic for a different audience. And then all of us getting to kind of converge together and enjoy this, and then people start getting murdered.
Flawless Kevin
That's the best part.
Lacey Mosley
I know. And I was like, it's lit. The stakes are so high that red, like, really means red.
Flawless Kevin
Oh. I mean, in my experience. Well.
Lacey Mosley
I've been to that one too, but yes. So the second I started seeing the people getting shot, I was like, oh, I'm in it. I'm in it. The stakes are so high. It was sad, but it's also fake. So I could be like, the stakes are so high. And I love that we didn't learn from it. We were like, let's do it with real people, literally.
Flawless Kevin
And I signed up on it.
Lacey Mosley
I wanted to, too, because it just looks so fun. And I was like, well, it can't kill me here, and I can still have fun.
Flawless Kevin
It was still pretty treacherous, I will say.
Lacey Mosley
I heard. I heard it was. And I heard the people speaking out about that, too. There's a big push in reality television to unionize.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, yeah, I heard about.
Lacey Mosley
Because I won't speak about the show that you were on just because you're on that show. But. And also, I don't really. I would be speculating, but, like, love is blind.
Flawless Kevin
Yes. I was about to say, like, dating shows. The treatment.
Lacey Mosley
After the first season or so, people started to come out and complain about it because they were putting them in rooms for, like, 12, 14, 16 hours at a time with no exposure to sunlight. Oh, that was me. They were applying them with food and alcohol and being like, you gotta sit here and fall in love. So, of course, by the end, some people are like, yes, I love you. Can I leave now? If we get married right now, I'm gonna. Husband.
Flawless Kevin
No. They do it on purpose to, like, psychologically mess with you, to make these rash decisions to entertain the people that.
Lacey Mosley
You wouldn't make if you weren't under duress.
Flawless Kevin
Definitely.
Lacey Mosley
And it unfortunately, like, nobody, especially these days. Cause the girls can't read anymore. The children are not reading. Pick up a book See, y' all canceled Reading Rainbow.
Flawless Kevin
And now on the iPad, down.
Lacey Mosley
Ooh. And even on the iPad, they not reading everything. The way that I have to advertise and write copy now is, like, in the first five words, I have to get out everything that needs to be said. I will give further information, but they will not read past that. We have to help them.
Flawless Kevin
Even with subtitles, they'll press, like, two times.
Lacey Mosley
Ooh, Skip. They love watching something in, like, 4x speed and being like, yeah, I watched it. I hated it. Well, yeah.
Flawless Kevin
Our attention spans are so low now.
Lacey Mosley
So low. And the demand for content is so high. It's like, you have to make something like. Like, the Instagram algorithm rewards you if you post, like, twice a day more than anything else. And, like. Like, I don't want to be television.
Flawless Kevin
No. And having that type of access to you is just not normal.
Lacey Mosley
No. And they're like, be television. Everybody's television now. That's why we don't. Like, I don't want to be television.
Flawless Kevin
And then they start feeling entitled.
Lacey Mosley
Right. I want to be on tv, the Norma. I don't want to have to be the whole tv.
Flawless Kevin
That's a lot more work, too, to having to create your own. For sure, right?
Lacey Mosley
Not live action me. But then we're looking at these people on these shows under duress, and we're judging them so harshly. And I feel so bad now that I am an adult and realize so many things. Like, luckily, we didn't have Twitter, and there weren't any direct ways for me to be. Like, you on the Bad Girls Club are a bad lady. But now, like. Like, there's a terrible, terrible network, and I'm not gonna say the name, but some of y' all gonna know what it is. But they have this show. I'm not gonna say the name of the show either. Cause you're gonna know what it is as soon as I say it. I'll say this pause for me. Okay, now you know what I'm talking about. Some of you know. And if you know, you know, you know, there's.
Flawless Kevin
I think I do.
Lacey Mosley
There's a chin involved. I think. I think that's all I have to say. Those are. That's the math you're gonna get from me. But they plot these poor young women with Doritos and tequila and make them fight. Make them fight, and then make them go to the club in sunglasses and, like, with stints on their pans and stuff, and it's a show that makes.
Flawless Kevin
Millions, all for the name. Of entertaining the people and you going.
Lacey Mosley
On there because you want some Instagram followers and some clout.
Flawless Kevin
Oh my God. But even reality TV clout is so fleeting.
Lacey Mosley
It is. You really have to try to hold on so desperately to stay relevant.
Flawless Kevin
So many people think they can go on a show and that's like their one way ticket to fame. And it's like maybe for like a month until you have to learn the skills to maintain the audience, create a brand.
Lacey Mosley
And some people can naturally learn very quickly and like hold onto it and create a brand. But this just seems like a place where I'm like, I don't know how you leave, like after shooting people with a BB gun. I don't know how you leave after all the tequila and one shit and have anybody respect you. And they be making them fight and they be fighting over nothing. They literally be like, who's ready to stand on business? And everybody, everybody knows that means you just have to pick someone and fight them.
Flawless Kevin
Oh my God.
Lacey Mosley
And make up a reason.
Flawless Kevin
And then people will literally see that and take that and run with it and be like, well, that was not the full story.
Lacey Mosley
But that's the only story we got right?
Flawless Kevin
What you see is what you Robbery.
Lacey Mosley

Like you want some earrings that look like Michelle Obama or something like, just very specific that you can't buy in a store. Well, now Amazon is a great place to get all your e. Your toiletries. You can have them scheduled to deliver your toiletries, which I do, because I'd be running out of toilet paper. And that's very embarrassing. Like, to be on the toilet and you don't have no paper. Like, that's. That's very sad and embarrassing. Can't believe I told y' all that. But next time you run out of coffee or realize you out of light bulbs, don't be in the dark. Amazon has you covered. Save every day with deals from Amazon and fraud. So how we got here, I don't know. Probably because I was tired of talking about fucking crypto because it is a sham. But. But the Netflix show, right? So we're back to that. It's super popular and everyone wants to get involved in its popularity in some way. Because, like we said now, like, TV is like, once you're a beloved character, people start commenting on your posts and, like, getting mad at you about stuff your character did and stuff. Like, the parasocial relationships are so strong now that, like, people want to be involved if they really fall in love with something. So. Whereas I feel like both of us can watch something and be like, I really enjoyed that. A lot of people watch stuff now and are like, all right, what are their names? Where do they live? All right, I'm gonna follow them on Insta and watch everything they post. And it's like, I don't need to be that involved. I like knowing you as an actor on tv. If we meet in person, cool. But we would be able to do that because we live in this industry, right? If I didn't, I would not be going places to try to. Well, I would go to normal things, like cons. Like, I think Cinemacon and all that kind of stuff is cool. Especially if you wanna nerd out with other people who care about the same thing. But I'm not like, gonna be just like showing up at a restaurant. Cause you posted on Instagram.
Flawless Kevin
But people do that even for Beyonce. See, for me, I'm like, if I heard bts, which is a K pop boy band I'm obsessed with. I'm like, well, let me go take a snickety pickety.
Lacey Mosley
If I was younger, not even gonna lie one time. I did do that for Beyonce. Me and my friends pretended to be bottle service girls. So we got into vip. I mean, we were just wearing black, and it was super bowl weekend, so everybody looked.
Flawless Kevin
You went all out.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. And all we did was, like, when she came by, I didn't know she was gonna be there. But everybody started running. And as a black person, other people run. You have to run to.
Flawless Kevin
Right. You don't know what's going on. It's America.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, it's America. Honestly, it should be. Of all races. Now, if y' all haven't learned from us by now that when people start running, you don't say what's going on. You definitely don't go the opposite direction.
Flawless Kevin
Especially here.
Lacey Mosley
You follow them implicitly until they stop running. And they'll be like, oh, my God, they almost got us. Who was they? What were they doing?
Flawless Kevin
But they were running to see Beyonce.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, they were running to see Beyonce, but I had. So I ran with him, and then when I saw Beyonce, we were all just like, politely, like, hello. She was like, hey, y' all, I'm not really doing pictures today. And we were like, that's fine. This air is great.
Flawless Kevin
Actually, I recently got to breathe the same air as her and Tina.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. I once saw Ms. Tina on a plane, and I knew I wasn't gonna die that day. No, I said, not with Beyonce mama on the plane. I'm gonna be just fine.
Flawless Kevin
You're blessed.
Lacey Mosley
Mm. So, okay, you got me. Me there. You got me there. But that's the hardest one.
Flawless Kevin
I think just the delusions of me would run amok. If I saw my K Pop boys, I would definitely.
Lacey Mosley
But I feel like it's because if we're in the same vicinity, we're not like, oh, you're eating at this restaurant. I will appear there.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, God.
Lacey Mosley
That's a different level.
Flawless Kevin
Like, a whole other. Yeah, yeah.
Lacey Mosley
I'm like, if they say you over there and I'm. It's walking distance. I might stroll by. That's. That's not crazy to me. But if I'm, like, stalking you online, and then I'm like, oh, okay, you getting orthopedic surgery today.
Flawless Kevin
The fans who wait at the airport for, like, two seconds of, you know, screen time for them, they're wild.
Lacey Mosley
I saw a grown ass man who, when he said the date of his birthday, he had to have been 40, and he was following. What's that Wednesday girl name?
Flawless Kevin
Who?
Lacey Mosley
Wednesday?
Flawless Kevin
Oh, Jenna Ortega.
Lacey Mosley
Jenna Ortega. She's so cute. So he was following Jenna Ortega, and he was like, it's my birthday. Can you wish me a happy birthday? And, like, holding up his phone and being like, wish me a happy birthday. And like, she looked really uncomfortable. Cause he was like, he was, he.
Flawless Kevin
Was too low dating her. Yeah. Where was this?
Lacey Mosley
And then this? I think was in New York City. And so I think she likes to be walking outside sometimes. And Mariah Carey would never. She's like, I don't. When I go to New York, I don't touch air, like, unless it's like from the conditioner. Like, you're not gonna catch me. But, you know, she's still young. So the guy pulls out his ID and he's like, look at my id. Like, I'm not lying. It's really my birthday.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, God.
Lacey Mosley
And she was like, sorry.
Flawless Kevin
She's known as like a scream queen. And she's like, I'm in a real life horror movie right now.
Lacey Mosley
Literally not you. Pulling out your identification, sir? I need you to be so serious. You are 40. You're 40. This girl is what, 22?
Flawless Kevin
It wasn't even for like his daughter or something. It was from 20.
Lacey Mosley
No, it was for himself. And like, I don't know what he thought he was going, like, how that was going to change his life, but. So this is how clout works. Which makes sense as to why you can see people falling for imaginary money. Because they want to be involved in Squid Game in some way possible. They either want to follow the actors or like, like, I think the Halloween costumes were cute. There were even squid game events. I was like, if you want to go and play red light, green light, like the TV show, I think that's fun and normal. But there is a certain degree where fandom becomes something that I think is really, really toxic. And even for the fans themselves. Because now you have Stan wars that are affecting your mental health. Definitely.
Flawless Kevin
Definitely the Stan Wars, I was about to say.
Lacey Mosley
And like, you're now putting your real money into something nebulous because you're such a huge fan.
Flawless Kevin
So what happened? What are the results?
Lacey Mosley
So people, if you don't know Squid Game, I realize I did not tell you guys exactly what it is, but people, they compete in these children's games for a chance to win $40 million and get out of debt. And it's a dystopian satire of capitalism. Just want to say that we do have a video of the trailer, but we've both seen it, but we will include it on the Instagram. So it's pretty funny to have a scam based currency. If you think about it, it's just ironic because it's like, that's what I.
Flawless Kevin
Was about to say the show about capitalism and like commentary on that and the fact that there is bitcoin scamming the fans who watch the show, which clearly did not understand the message. No, it's ironic.
Lacey Mosley
I told you that the kids don't read no more.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, kids are buying bitcoin?
Lacey Mosley
Yes, Kids, adults, but like nuance. People don't have as much of it as we used to because we don't get enough time to process things. The Internet is coming at us so quickly that we're just like instant gratification. This is my initial reaction and I'm not giving it any thought now. Let me share my opinion.
Flawless Kevin
Like, oh my God.
Lacey Mosley
That, that. So when that. When money's involved in that, that's when it's going to become a scam. So squid crypto. A month after the Netflix show came out, the developers of Squid Coin promised that by buying their coin, you could participate in a new fan made Squid game online platform where you could earn more tokens through gameplay. These earned tokens were supposed to be exchangeable for other cryptocurrencies or actual literal money. They called it a play to earn cryptocurren. The game wasn't out yet, but it was supposed to be right around the corner. Now I thought this was kind of creative. Cause they could have just came out with the coin and spammed you like the Bridgerton coin. And there's a lot of like popular TV show coins where they're like, oh, no way.
Flawless Kevin
There's like a Stranger Things coin Wednesday coin.
Lacey Mosley
Mm. They're like, you like this. We got a coin for you. Yes. But I thought this one was like pretty creative. Cause it's like, you can play squid game now, but for like real money. Just like they do on the tv.
Flawless Kevin
No way. Oh my God, I'm intrigued.
Lacey Mosley
So Squidcoin was an obvious scam from the jump. The website was only three weeks old when the coin launched and it was filled with bizarre spelling and grammatical errors. Like, this is a quote. I'm not having a stroke. The more people join, the larger reward pool will be.
Flawless Kevin
Maybe they kept it cryptic to make it like that spooky vibe.
Lacey Mosley
I don't want a spooky vibe with my money.
Flawless Kevin
But it's squid game.
Lacey Mosley
That's why I told you I didn't like that, that they picked the murder man. I was like, I don't want a spooky vibe with my money. Don't spook me with my money.
Flawless Kevin
It's on brand.
Lacey Mosley
They're like, you'll get really rich. Or will you?
Flawless Kevin
Or die.
Lacey Mosley
Damn. Die. I was just going to say you could be really poor. You took it to the next level with that. That was beautiful. Or die.
Flawless Kevin
I mean, those guards ain't no joke.
Lacey Mosley
They're not. That's. That's crazy, though. Get really rich. Or die. So the website hosted at Squid Game Cash has disappeared, along with every other social media presence. It's set up by the scammers, but there's still an archived version. The Internet is forever. I do want to see Squid Game Cash.
Flawless Kevin
Yeah, let me see.
Lacey Mosley
Because they not really like.
Flawless Kevin
I don't know if that's a literal squid.
Lacey Mosley
There is, and it's not the squid from Squid game. Right.
Flawless Kevin
I don't even think they have a single squid motif in Squid Game.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, no, it's just the circles and the triangles.
Flawless Kevin
Yes. Because that's what the game is called. But not the literal squid.
Lacey Mosley
They done made an emoji.
Flawless Kevin
It's kind of cute, though.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, it is cute. They worked on that.
Flawless Kevin
The graphic design team ate right.
Lacey Mosley
I think everybody else is kind of failing, but at least they tried. It says buy squid, buy marbles.
Flawless Kevin
Oh. What? That sounds chat scary. Oh, my God.
Lacey Mosley
Chat. So you can chat with other players. I feel like part of the reason that they'll do like marbles or something like that is to attract children. And you don't realize how much money you're spending because it's converted into something else. Like, I know the girls go up for the. What are those bucks? Roblox. Mm. That's like Roblox are for essentially kids to ask their parents to buy them coins.
Flawless Kevin
The parents don't know any of this. They just willy nilly, just give them the money.
Lacey Mosley
I mean, look, it's not something that you can be evaluated. Like, they sell like plans and I'm not even gonna hold you. But okay, maybe I do be filing for scams because there's this game. I'm not gonna say what game it is, but sponsor the show because y' all be getting me. I'm not giving it to you for free. But there's a game, you can figure it out though, where you just garden and you just do these like little puzzles and I'll be running out of garden coins and I'll be buying them.
Flawless Kevin
No, I get you. There's this game that I also play that's like these hot 2D anime men. And if you buy these coins, you can spend one on one time with them and go on these little and intimate moments with Them Meanwhile, I just.
Lacey Mosley
Know this is a 56 year old woman in Kentucky and. And I'm not any. Mine is not better. Mine is worse because at least you can like spend time and do stuff in the app. All I'm doing is like, wow, I can get this garden supreme package for $100. After I use all of the coins and all of the boosters. I don't get anything.
Flawless Kevin
Yes. To be have the best garden.
Lacey Mosley
That's true. I have fun. That we do pay for entertainment. You know what?
Flawless Kevin
What? Life is too short. You never know when squid game's gonna get you.
Lacey Mosley
You know what, look at me. I was shaming myself when you brought me back, so thank you for that. So all of the stuff has disappeared from this very good looking website that I would for sure give money to. At least my, my scam site puts a little investment in. But they do have a cute squid.
Flawless Kevin
I wanna know the difference between buy squid versus buy marbles.
Lacey Mosley
I think marbles is one of those things where they just give you an evaluation for it and it' many marbles for this much money.
Flawless Kevin
Okay, but did y' all not see the marbles game in the show? That was like a game of betrayal.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, that's true. I don't know how clearly they watched the show. I think they were just like shooting in game.
Flawless Kevin
It's one big gamble, so it makes sense.
Lacey Mosley
And they didn't. I don't think they did any critical thinking here. It's not given critical thinking. So Squid Game's Telegram channel, set up by the unknown scammers, didn't allow comments from outsiders. And the Twitter account made it impossible for anyone to reply to posts here. Again, Telegram. I'm not giving nobody money unless I know I'm doing crime. Telegram is for like, oh, I need to buy acid. Oh, and we both know what we're doing here. That's very specific. I realized that it wasn't me buying the acid.
Flawless Kevin
I was like, okay, deep dark stuff.
Lacey Mosley
But I'm just saying that's what people use. Telegram is where our freaking government know they go on signal and our freaking government puts out war plans like idiots. But they think it's like dark enough, encrypted enough that people aren't going to find it. They just accidentally added the wrong guy.
Flawless Kevin
That's what they always say.
Lacey Mosley
It would have been a secret. Right, but so these are not like. This isn't like WhatsApp can be definitely scammy, but WhatsApp can also just be a place where you talk to people in foreign countries, But Telegram and Signal sponsor the show. Great for crime, no? And also legit stuff that gets happening on there. Oh, no. I tried. So one watchdog website posted a warning that Squibcoin was clearly inspired by the Netflix show, but was likely to be affiliated or, sorry, was unlikely to be affiliated with the intellectual property. Most importantly, people who bought the coin couldn't sell it, which is not good in terms of being a functional currency, because they want you to buy it and have to hold on to it. And then once enough people buy it, they take their larger shares out, Right?
Flawless Kevin
And then everybody's is stuck holding nothing or no bag.
Lacey Mosley
So plenty of people, though, didn't get the warning in time. So there were people like, hey, y' all, this is a scam. But the SQUID cryptocurrency peaked at a price of $2861 before plummeting to zero a week after it launched.
Flawless Kevin
2000.
Lacey Mosley
So one squid coin would be worth $2861.
Flawless Kevin
Wow.
Lacey Mosley
So let's say you have 10. You already have over $20,000.
Flawless Kevin
Wow.
Lacey Mosley
Let's say you bought a hundred and you bought it for cheap. Like, you know what I mean? Like, this is real money that people probably lost. And if you got in on the squid thing at the baseline, you probably were making a huge profit. So users had noticed wallet activities suggesting the token's alleged developers had terminated the project before its heavily publicized online game had even launched. So the game that they promised people, that probably made people be like, oh, this is legit. Like, this is gonna be like Roblox or like my garden thing, or, like, your go on a date, my sexy tutti men. Yes. Like, they're thinking they're about to be on the next bag, and that helps even more. But they cashed out $3 million worth of the Binance token coins that the creators had cashed out and ghosted, basically. So remember, Squid Coin can be turned into other, more legitimate coins that are worth money. Binance is still somewhat of a legitimate coin, so they had converted it into another coin. I'm talking like this because it's killing me inside.
Flawless Kevin
And then this coin turned into another coin, and the next coin became this coin.
Lacey Mosley
And then. Yes. And then the creators cashed out and ghosted. They wiped out out a 6. Like, $6 billion in market value within 15 minutes. Because, remember, if everybody's coin was worth exactly what they held it for, then they would have made money, too. But since the people with the largest coins took their coins away, hold the ride valued market value for all these other people. So they didn't steal $6 billion, but they lost all of these people a collective amount of 6 billion billion. Wow. So this kind of theft, commonly called a rug pull, which I mentioned earlier, it's done by crypto investors. And it happens when the creator of the crypto quickly cashes out on the coin for real money, draining the liquidity pool from the exchange. These are also called pump and dump crypto scams.
Flawless Kevin
Familiar with those?
Lacey Mosley
Not the scam type. Lord, I hope it wasn't a scam. The eye contact that you're making right now, girl. And we're gonna leave that there. So Squid Game season two referenced the real life rug pull on the show. Did you see that? That they referenced the crypto coin and how it's like.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, my God, no. Okay. It's all making sense to me now.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, that just blew my mind too, because it was that one guy who they were all trying to beat up.
Flawless Kevin
MG Coin. The YouTuber dude.
Lacey Mosley
Yes.
Flawless Kevin
He's cute.
Lacey Mosley
He is cute. And I felt so bad every time they were trying to beat him up and did beat him up.
Flawless Kevin
I mean, well, he's kind of warranted. He's a.
Lacey Mosley
He did a bad thing.
Flawless Kevin
Baby daddy ran away from his pregnant girlfriend.
Lacey Mosley
Right. He was just a bad dude all the time. He was so cute. That's why we kept watching him. It made it worth it. I was like, I wanted to see the good in him. Cause I saw it in his face.
Flawless Kevin
Maybe we'll find out.
Lacey Mosley
So it was referenced in the Squid game that came out in 2024. I didn't even put that together.
Flawless Kevin
No, literally, the minute you said that, I was like, oh, that makes so much sense. They're getting a lot of inspiration from real life. With the coin, with me, with you.
Lacey Mosley
You weren't a scam, but the coin was. Okay.
Flawless Kevin
I was scammed of my screen time.
Lacey Mosley
Big facts, big facts. Because it could have just been you. No shade to that actor, but Netflix hit me up. Could have just had an actress who could play it. So let's be Korean.
Flawless Kevin
Anya, listen.
Lacey Mosley
Bam, bam, bam. Right there, right there. That's always saying. Okay, the second season of Squid Game came out at the end of 2024, and the third and final season is scheduled to be released in June of this year. So we just talked about this. The crypto scammer who Rug pulled his fictional coin. Oh, it was actually called Dalmatian and screwed over the other players on the island. Possibly as a reference to what Happened with squid coin in real life.
Flawless Kevin
That makes so much sense now. I'm like, mind blown.
Lacey Mosley
I am, too. That was, like, real, like, full circle moment. Because I just thought, crypto scammer. This makes sense. But they were also referencing the scammers who did them dirty. But only in this one, the scammers came out. Okay, I don't know who they are. I mean, I didn't hear nothing about prison in here. Sounds like they.
Flawless Kevin
The squid game is the prison.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, yeah. But I don't think that. I think that Mr. Dalmatian Coin, who was so cute and evil, he had to go to. He had to go to, you know, kindergarten prison for his life. But we don't know who these crypto scammers were.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, they're anonymous.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. And they took their coins and they dipped.
Flawless Kevin
So had we known, we'd go after them like the characters in the show.
Lacey Mosley
But we'll never know.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, my God. That's spooky.
Lacey Mosley
We'll never know. It is spooky. See, and I knew something was spooky about them using the evil one for squid game and not the good one, the evil coin. Oh, man, that's. Honestly, this one's a little bit of a bummer to me because I hate to see people get scammed out of, no pun intended, here, their coins. But it's also hilarious to me that.
Flawless Kevin
They got away with, like, no trace.
Lacey Mosley
No trace. That money is gone. And there were flags. Oh.
Flawless Kevin
And it's not like a tangible thing where you can. Oh, my God.
Lacey Mosley
And that's the thing about crypto that is so scary, is like, you can send money back and forth, and there are ways where it's untraceable. Like, if I venmo you, the government can find out that I've been you. But if I clean money through crypto and I do enough little, you know, tricks, I'm just going to call it to be simple because I'm not going to explain the blockchain. But. But, like, you can get away with shouting money and just keeping it. And these people did. They're probably going to yacht somewhere around.
Flawless Kevin
Right now without us.
Lacey Mosley
Without us.
Flawless Kevin
The.
Lacey Mosley
I know. So sad. But all right, Kevin. Well, that brings us to a segment that we sometimes and sometimes do not do, which is a scam for all of you out there who listen to this podcast faithfully. But I told you, I'm getting it back. Okay, so we have a scammer of the week. This is where we highlight a charlotte tin that may or may not be Worthy of our praise. And I want to do this scammer of the week because they're called the wireframe and I think it really ties into our spiritual very much. Not a scam.
Flawless Kevin
Nope.
Lacey Mosley
Church that we may or may not be starting. If I can convince you.
Flawless Kevin
Emphasizing on that. Yeah.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Oh my God. We love empathy so much. Do we love that as a coin name?
Flawless Kevin
Ooh, where do we put the dollar sign Empathy?
Lacey Mosley
Not with that snake sound. No, no.
Flawless Kevin
It sounds scammy on the e. I don't know. Know sympathy. Ooh, I just wanna. Oh, that's symphony.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. Oh, symphony is good too. Like a symphony. Cause we rise from the ashes of scams.
Flawless Kevin
We'll have to workshop that.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah, we'll do that later. So wire fraud priest. A California pastor and former city council candidate has been arrested on an 11 count federal indictment for allegedly defrauding friends and abuse nonprofit over more. I'm sorry. For over more than $230,000. He's a former priest and he got all this money from his friends and a nonprofit. Which is wild cuz churches technically are nonprofits. Which is why I'm really trying to start one. But. But I'm. I'm a prophet. The community will profit from my church. Listen, it's all going to be in the. In the leaflet and then people get.
Flawless Kevin
On board, circulate to everybody. Not just you.
Lacey Mosley
So for four years. Terrence Owens. Elliot. Oh no, he sounds black. Tony Elliot. Well priest be Italian a lot too. Let me see a picture. Mispresented himself as an affiliate of the San Bernardino city government and police department to defraud long term friends. Damn it.
Flawless Kevin
He's black.
Lacey Mosley
I knew he was gonna be black. The name was a dead giveaway. Oh my goodness.
Flawless Kevin
He said my people.
Lacey Mosley
He not my people and my people. Why he don't even got on the collar in this. You look like you a attorney with let's bench ads. Tony. It's not even giving Christ.
Flawless Kevin
Like it looks scary.
Lacey Mosley
He does look scary. Okay. He could probably preach that fire and brimstone part of the bible real good though. That's when he really gets the crowd galvanized. Cuz they're terrified. And then he shakes them down. Oh no. So Tony convinced one victim identif who identified as MC in quotes to place inheritance funds in a trust that it would claim to protect her medical care and I'm sorry. Sorry. Her Medicare and Social Security benefits. That sounds so convoluted. How am I putting money in a trust to protect government benefits? Basically, I think he's saying that he was like, oh, you should put your Medicare and your Social Security in this trust so that you can have it for later. So it's coming from the government and you probably worked your whole life for it, but put it in this trust so that it's safe.
Flawless Kevin
Hmm, that's what we think.
Lacey Mosley
Cause you know, the bank, not so safe. So he then appointed himself as co trustee. Surprise, surprise. But fraudulently altered the trust agreement to gain sole financial control. Tony used trust funds to pay personal expenses, including vehicle repairs, clothing, and church's rent. Damn. He paying the church rent with the trust. Like, aren't you supposed to pay get tithes? So after MC died, Tony falsely.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, he passed away.
Lacey Mosley
So MC was the victim and MC went to meet the Lord, who Tony never met and never will. So Tony falsely claimed after MC died, court approval was needed to release the trust and tricked another victim, wh. In quotes, into covering $8,615 in funeral expenses. So Tony also defrauded churches, nonprofits using a similar scheme. So basically, when MC passed away, then he tricked another victim and was like, hey, the trust won't let me release these funds to pay for MC's funeral. I need you to give me almost $10,000 to pay for the funeral. Then I'm gonna get you back in his name. Amen.
Flawless Kevin
Amen.
Lacey Mosley
A scam. So he's also defrauded all the girls in the community. And if convicted, he would face a statutory maximum sentence of 20 years prison for each count, which he deserves. Put him under the jail. And I don't even believe in the prison system gag. So Tony ran for a city council seat in 2022, a bid that was not only unsuccessful, but brought to light criminal conventions and civil lawsuits against him. So mind you, the crimes that he was doing, he'd already had charges brought up against him, but he hadn't gone to jail yet, and he thought he was going to run for. For city council.
Flawless Kevin
I think the f now and then.
Lacey Mosley
Decide that he was innocent. He was going to be like, we investigated me and we decided I'm innocent.
Flawless Kevin
Sure. That's how it works.
Lacey Mosley
You know how the police be doing their own internal investigations. I'm always like, how you gonna investigate yourself? If I investigate me, I'm always gonna be into it. I'm like, we looked into me. They allow that I'm on the up and up. Yes, a lot of things don't make sense in our society. They're like, we have a separate individual on board who does all of the Investigation. Who doesn't have any interest in making sure that everything goes away.
Flawless Kevin
That's a conflict of interest.
Lacey Mosley
Yes, it truly is. And there's Tony running for city council. Honestly based, he picked up Mayor Eric Adams book or pamphlet or whatever that hookah man be smoking that he has written maybe one of his videos and was like, let me try this plan. And if you haven't, maybe I'll include this in the Instagram too. But I think we've shown this before. But if you haven't seen that video of Eric Adams telling parents how to find drug paraphernalia in their room, in their kid's room. It's so gold. Like, if I watched that, I would also run for mayor of New York, because I'm like, this is an unserious job. Like, anyone can do it. And it should be me, because why not?
Flawless Kevin
So we could add that we could be mayor and cult leaders.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Okay. Stop saying cult.
Flawless Kevin
It's not a cult.
Lacey Mosley
Oh, shh. It's a spiritual confinement. Okay, that sounds like you're not gonna be free confinement. It's a spiritual cohort.
Flawless Kevin
Oh, okay.
Lacey Mosley
Yes. Of like minded people.
Flawless Kevin
That sounds happier.
Lacey Mosley
Yeah. And their brains are like. Because maybe they got a little scrub. But you see. I'm sorry. I think I'm starting to get you, Kevin. I'm starting to get you.
Flawless Kevin
I'm convinced.
Lacey Mosley
But that brings us to the end of a fantastic episode. We always ask Kier. And first, thank you so much for being here and for sitting through so much bitcoin conversation. I was so sorry.
