What is my relation to scams? I mean, I feel like I've run into scams here and there. I was raised in Miami Dade County. Like, you know, you had to at least date one scammer. 305. Yeah, 305. Till I died, baby.

Okay, I was not born for a little bit.

You was. You're a Broward girly.

[Lacey Mosley]

Yeah, for a little bit, but I'm from Texas, so, yes, for a little bit, I was a Brower girly.

[Jesse Woo]

Okay.

[Lacey Mosley]

Excuse me, Lacey.

This ain't Texas. No, but I. You had to date a scammer, too, growing up, and you know, dating in Miami. But I did. I was almost romance scammed back in 2022, though. I actually have a YouTube video that did a little. It did some numbers where I talked about a pastor almost scamming me.

And I know about the scamming pastors.

[Jesse Woo]

Yes.

[Lacey Mosley]

Wait, it was a scamming pastor romance scam.

[Jesse Woo]

Yeah. So in a nutshell, he had stopped pastoring. Okay, so he was pastoring in Huntsville, Alabama, then he moved to LA to be an actor and to also be like a spiritual guider for other actors in the acting. Oh, no, you're an actor. You know. You know how there's always those people who want to attach themselves. But anyway, so at the time, I met him through a cousin of mine. So my cousin is da Vinci, he's on bmf. And his. His manager at the time was this guy's uncle. And so I met them to. I met him through him. And I remember just meeting him initially and thinking, hmm, something's a little off here. But then like about maybe two years later, we started to see each other. Like, I kind of lost contact with him and I couldn't remember why. I kind of just. I got this feeling that something was off. And then two years later, we started seeing each other romantically. And, you know, he was ballin out of control. Like, remember he was pastoring in Huntsville, Alabama?

Right.

[Jesse Woo]

Balling in Huntsville, Alabama is not the same as Ballin in la.

[Lacey Mosley]

No, because the Ballin in Huntsville, Alabama, I can get bottle service for like $30. Like, I could get. I can go to the Applebee's and make it rain like it's different.

[Jesse Woo]

You not doing that in la. And so no, I remember in LA, he had a penthouse. He had like a Range Rover.

[Lacey Mosley]

Was he living downtown? Yes, that's where the scammers live.

[Jesse Woo]

Oh, for real?

[Lacey Mosley]

Yes. I always say, if you live in downtown la, when are you gonna stop doing crime? When are you gonn.

[Jesse Woo]

Oh, my God. He was living in a high rise downtown. And so he had a Rafe, he had the Wraith that's with the stars in the sky. He had a Beamer, a Benz, he had a Range Rover, he had a fleet of cars, but he ain't had no food in the fridge. And I thought that was a little strange. I was like, you know what sometimes guys are. Their guy pads don't be stocked up right. So I gave him that. But then one time I was at his house, I was staying with him for like the weekend. No food in his fridge. But when I went to go Order food. Oh, oh, can you get me.

Can I get you. You driving Bieber Ben's Bentleys? Like, what do you mean, can I get you, girl?

[Jesse Woo]

Next thing you know, he tells me that, oh, this church wants to hire me to speak. And. But I don't think I should do it. You know, I left that behind to be an actor. And I was like, well, don't do it. He's like, yeah, but they trying to hire me and pay me $10,000. I was like, well, go ahead and do it. Yeah, but I don't know if I should do it. Cause, you know, I left that behind. But I'm like, okay, well, then don't do it. And he was like, but I really could use a $10,000.

And I'm like, is this.

[Jesse Woo]

Is this. Is this man trying to ask me for $10,000? Like, you know, dry bagging?

[Lacey Mosley]

Yeah. Cause he's like acting like, oh, I really need the money, but I don't want to do this because I. No, it was when he begged for the food. That was the first hint. Then when he brought up the $10,000.

[Jesse Woo]

When he really needs it, that was the second hint. So then he told me, mind you, I'm staying at his house. He told me he had to leave suddenly for a gig where he was styling an actress. I can't remember the girl's name, but she was in a movie with Idris Elba.

[Lacey Mosley]

So he's also a stylist.

[Jesse Woo]

He. A stylist.

[Lacey Mosley]

He's a spiritual stylist.

[Jesse Woo]

Ex preacher, actor, podcaster, and. And. And spiritual advisor.

[Lacey Mosley]

So then serial entrepreneur.

[Jesse Woo]

Okay, serial entrepreneur. Right. But then when. That was the last mistake he made, because when he told me he was her style. I can't remember the girl's name, but she was in that movie with Idris Elba where they got stuck in a. They almost got ate up by some lines. I can't remember the damn. The damn movie. It was really good. But they got ate up by some lines almost. So then he was styling the daughter, and when I went to go look at the. I knew. First of all, I knew two people who worked for that production. And I was able to find the girl who. The actual stylist for that actress. It wasn't him. I was like, oh, he told me three lies in a row. So then next thing you know, he pops up in Atlanta without tell. Without telling me. Cause I live in Atlanta. And he does the preaching gig that he told me he wasn't going to do. The minute he did that I remembered that he had a girl that he mentioned to me that he was dating here. I never told him that I knew her, that I knew of her. We've been Instagram friends for years. I slide in her dm, of course, you gotta slide. I slide in her dm. I say, hey, girl, I need to talk to you about something. She says, sure, let me get. She gives me her number. We go on the phone. I say, it's about such and such. She said, what do you want to know, bitch? What do you want to know, bitch? Come to find out.

Lo and behold, behold and load, not behold and low.

[Jesse Woo]

So scammer. So scammer, he said, scammer. And make a long story short, he had been scamming women dating way back to when he was preaching.

[Lacey Mosley]

Wow.

[Jesse Woo]

Dating to way back to way when he was preaching. So there was one girl who came forward because I made a video about it, but I didn't say his name. I never said his name. But there were so many women who came forth and told me. There was one girl who said, girl, he baptized me one day and then he baptized me the next, if you know what I mean.

[Lacey Mosley]

No.

[Jesse Woo]

Yeah. And then he was asked. He started asking me for money. So many of these women said that when he left the church in Huntsville and moved to la, he would reach out to them and tell them how much he was in need. You know, like the, you know, the. The devil's got me and I'm trying to spread the word and you know, I got a podcast studio and I can't pay the bill. There was one girl who sent me receipts of her paying for the room where he was doing the podcast whole time, girl. Remember I said something. He had the fleet of cars, but he didn't have food in the fridge.

Right.

[Jesse Woo]

One of my homeboys said, jess, I don't think that man pays his rent. He just so happened to think that. So we called the apartment building, acting as if we were him. Cause I had all his information.

[Lacey Mosley]

We called the apartment. Okay, you are a detective sleuth now you have you got a magnifying glass? You out here? You got that hat on a trench coat?

[Jesse Woo]

Call me Carmen Sandie Wu. Okay? I am Carmen Sandie Wu. We called the apartment building. This man owed over $32,000 on rent. But he was able to do it because around that time, remember, we're in the pandemic.

Uh huh.

[Jesse Woo]

And I think in la, you guys were doing. There was a lot of.

[Lacey Mosley]

There was like a rent freeze in some places. Yeah. Where if you couldn't afford and you applied, you could have your rent frozen.

I don't know if maybe them people saw my video, but they kicked them out expeditiously after my video went viral. Somebody sent a video somewhere. Cause they kicked him out expeditiously. He had to leave that high rise.

[Lacey Mosley]

They put that pink slip on the door. They said, actually, we're gonna help you move. Like, don't worry about that, sweetheart, we got a U haul for you. Yeah. Now I have to ask. In his apartment, was there furniture? Like, was it decorated? Girl, that was.

[Jesse Woo]

Girl, it was nicely decorated. Nice furniture, everything. But lo and behold, behold and lo. Oh, I'm sorry, I'm be forgetting people. Not Haitian. It was, it was the women. It was the women's paying for everything. He had a long list of women giving him money. There was one girl who was like his food girl. She would send him money for food. I'm like, she would send. She sent me the screenshots of him saying, I'm hungry, I'm hungry. She would send him money for food. Like he had a girl for everything. It was insane. It was really insane.

What's interesting to me is that he was doing this through the church. And I feel like women who go to the church are very vulnerable when it comes to a preacher. You know what I mean? You want to sit in the first pew, you want to be wearing your hat on Easter Sunday, you know, running the church. And so you think this man is trustworthy and then he's robbing you. And food girl is crazy.

[Jesse Woo]

Like, girl, she was his food girl. Like, the man was robbing the girls of their tithes offerings and they coochies. It was ridiculous. And when I did my video, there were several of the girls who were like, girl, thank. Like, be thankful he didn't get you. Be thankful he didn't get you. But also a lot of the, like, a good amount of the girls who came forward to me went back to him. No, it's just. It's just something about a tall, good looking man who talks about God, who's out there putting up scriptures and all that. Like, women fall for it every time they fall for it.

Also sound like you might have some other skills, like in the boudoir. Well, you might be blessed. Well, highly favored.

Oh my goodness. That I was like, I always.

[Jesse Woo]

Listen. The thing is, I think he was a little too blessed because it was. It was women and men coming forward. So I think he was very blessed. I think it was very blessed. Yes.

He got out here and he was by, he said, I. And I'm not mad at that.

Okay, that's wild.

Yeah.

And I wanna, I do want to say the reason I said that, like, did he live downtown? Was because I have been downtown with a few scammers. Like, and they live in high rises and usually they don't have enough furniture or they have like a grand piano. And I'm like, that's weird. Not the piano, but there was this one who was like, he was an acting coach, he was an actor. He did all this stuff, right? One time he kept going to the restroom and I was like, that's a signal for, you know, he was right. And I was left in the kitchen. He had no food in the fridge, just like your man's. But he had this jar full of like cash, like $20 bills, $100 bills, like, and it was just like a jar full of cash. And when he came back out of the restroom, I asked him about it. I was like, why do you have this jar full of cash just sitting here? Especially because the house wasn't given a jar full of cash. It was a high rise penthouse, but it wasn't given jar full of cash. Ok. And he was like, oh, I leave that there to see if people are going to steal from me. What.

What the hell is going on? We. Therapy. Therapy.

[Lacey Mosley]

I never talked to that man again. I left her expeditiously. I was, I don't know what is going on. I had met him through mutual friends therapy. No, no, ma'am. No, ma'am.

Because why is that? Why is that the test? Why is that the test? Leaving a jar of money out, especially during these economically suffering times. So what happens if I do take the money? What's next?

[Lacey Mosley]

And also, do you just count the money every night? Because what if I just take 120? Like, how you gonna know I take.

[Jesse Woo]

A 20 every time I pass through, you know, Let me take a look.

[Lacey Mosley]

Right?

[Jesse Woo]

Like, please. This is weird.

He must be high. Just counting the money every night.

[Jesse Woo]

Yeah, this is weird.

I don't know. It was weird. But I'm telling you, I've been downtown and that's where the scammers live. And I'm like, when are you going to give up crime and move?

No, I mean, it makes sense. It makes sense because a lot of people in that building that he stayed in, it was a lot of the people that I thought were living a certain life. And I'm like, okay, so, yeah, also. So this is scam central. The moment you said downtown, it clicked for me, like, oh, okay, makes sense.

Cause there's no reason to live downtown. Like there's nothing there.

[Jesse Woo]

Like, it's literally nothing. It's literally nothing.

[Lacey Mosley]

Because that way nobody can see you when you doing your stuff. Cause nobody's there. Oh, my goodness. Well, Jesse, I'm so sorry that that happened to you. But also, that was entertaining as hell.

Don't be sorry. Don't be sorry. He didn't get my money. He did not get my money. We praise God for that. He did not get my corn. And so.

And you spread the gospel. You let the girls know, some of them, they were wayward and went back, but you saved some people. Amen.

Do you mind if I get your, like, her number and give it to him? My parent called. My parent called and was like, do you know this person? And I was like, yes, everyone knows this person.

So the next day, another account reached out, claiming to be Brad himself. Brad's mother told him all about Ann. One message to her said, I'd like to know more about you, but I'd like to know whether you work in the media, as I'm protective of my private life.

Here we go. Here go the gaslighting, the manipulation, like, I'm famous.

They continue to communicate for the next year and a half. Brad Pitt used fake social media and WhatsApp accounts plus artificial intelligence images to send and what appeared to be selfies and other messages, including poems and songs and apparently a copy of Pitt's passport. So this is. This is the poem that fake bad. We need a name for fake Brad Pitt.

So they were like, okay, we gotta. We gotta do some damage control. Yeah, send an AI video. The video comforted Ann for a short time. But when the real bad putt and his new baddie made their relationship official in June 2024 and decided to end things. So after scammers tried to get more money out of her under the guise of special FBI agent John Smith and contacted the police, and an investigation is now underway.

No, he didn't. The fake relationships escalated until the women believed they were talking to Pitt himself on WhatsApp. Which, like, that's the scammer. Like, if anybody tells you to go to WhatsApp when they're a stranger.

Out your wallet. And you know what? She entered into this business agreement with the account. Right. That she believe was Brad Pitt or one related to his nonprofit Make It Right foundation, which constructs new homes for victims of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. Kelly planned charitable functions and booked Brad Pitt to attend them, but he failed to show up five times. Someone claiming to be Pitt still collected his speaking fee of $40,000, always promising that next time he would 100% be there. Now, five times, he didn't show up.

Girl, wait a minute now. Hold on, hold on, hold on. You not. You not doing good business. You. You supposed to put a little. You supposed to give a little deposit, not the whole thing.

And if you don't show up, I'm not paying you right.

It sound like she just paid the whole fee up front. No, ma'am, this is no. Oh, my God. What? Lord, I can't.

And I bet you Brad Pitt's speaking fee is much higher than $40,000.

Kelly was so adamant that she had been communicating with the real bad Pitt and not a catfish, that she sued the real Brad Pitt for $100,000. For his failure to appear, the real Brad Pitt successfully had the lawsuit dismissed.

In response to an story, Brad's real reps issued a statement saying it's awful that scammers take advantage of the strong bond between fans and celebrities. This is an important reminder not to respond to unsolicited online messages, especially from actors who are not present on social networks. So there was no blue check on the Brad Pitt. She didn't know about the blue check.

Katherine. Katherine Goodson, a 67 year old widow from San Diego. She received a text from someone claiming to be Keanu. He asked her to send him a 500 gift card to prove she wasn't just interested in his fame and money.

And she did it.

I mean, it's Keanu Reeves.

[Jesse Woo]

I don't give a. I don't.

[Lacey Mosley]

I might. I might send a little 500 gift card to Keanu.

[Jesse Woo]

Why are we sending mail money, ladies.

Is, like, so sweet and wonderful.

No, I know you. I know you're you. You are for the people. I know that I. You are for the girlies. You are for the people. But y'all need to stop sending men money. Why are we sending men money? Do you think God created us from a man's rib for us to give that same man whose rib we came for sure, some damn money?

Shoot for existing. So the woman says, I did send it, but I said, I want to hear your voice. And once I heard his voice, I said, you're not him. And I blocked him. Goodson posted a warning on social media about how she was duped by an imposter, then received a message from the real Reeves or social media she thought, saying he felt awful that she lost money to a scam they Started messaging, and she said they fell in love. She sent bitcoin gift cards and wired transfers totaling $60,000 over two years. Okay, but this last part is really sad.

This last part is really sad, though. She is now living in her car.

If she's living in her car, that means she gave the fake Keanu Reeves. Keanu thieves.

Mm. She said they fell in love, and they were talking all the time. And what's wild to me is, like, the first Keanu asked you for a $500 gift card, and you were like, let me hear your voice. And then he. And then you started warning people about Keanu thieves.

And then another scammer realized there was an opportunity to pretend to be Keanu thieves.

Plot twist. It was the same scammer. Plot twist. It was the same Keanu thieves. He just said, oh, I couldn't get it.
