This week on the podcast, Kody and Kit are joined by Maye Jepson! Maye is the mother to a son living with schizoaffective disorder, and has a lot to say about the experience of being not a caregiver, but something she calld a “trust partner”. And she dives into just what that means in this episode. Maye has a lot of insight into what it’s like caring for someone with a severe mental illness, good and bad, so join Kody and Kit AND Maye as they all talk about it!Follow Maye!Instagram: mayejepsonFollow the podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify: we are Schiz and Giggles on both platformsYouTube is @schizandgiggles for the video version of the podcastWe are on Instagram and TikTok at the same handleEmail: schizandgiggles@gmail.comFollow Kody!YouTube: @schizophrenichippieTikTok, Instagram, Facebook: schizophrenichippieFollow Kit!YouTube: @schizokitzoInstagram, TikTok, Facebook: schizokitzo#schizophrenia #schizoaffective #mentalhealthdisorders #mentalhealth #mentalhealthadvocate #podcast #caregiver

It’s been a few weeks…AND WE ARE BACK! This week on the podcast, Kody and Kit return to discuss burnout, but also self-care from two perspectives. The first is self-care when it comes to being mental health advocates and the second is just… from the viewpoint as people who are mentally ill! One of the hardest things about preventing burnout is knowing when not to do things, to slow down and try to relax, and finding that balance is hard. And self-care does play a massive role in managing the symptoms of schizophrenia spectrum disorders and life in general. So, today’s episode is about all of that, and hopefully you enjoy it!
