In this final episode of our RHMC mini-series, we sharpen our vision to Love Like Jesus through Radical Hospitality and Meaningful Connections by introducing measurable outcomes to assess what success looks like when we, by the power of the Holy Spirit, achieve what God has called us to accomplish. We are calling this the Integration Plan, and we are asking our church family to incorporate this plan in everything that we do as a church. We believe this intentional plan will sharpen our vision, help us to be more fruitful, and participate in God's mighty work in astounding ways. Pray with us that God would use this to form our hearts to be faithful disciples. We excitedly look forward to bearing the fruit that the Spirit of God allows in our midst!

In this third episode in our RHMC mini-series, we discuss the practical applications of biblical hospitality in the life of our local church. In the last two episodes, we examined the biblical foundations of our vision and values; now, we get to the practical aspects of this vision. What does this look like in our church life? This episode will explain why we do what we do and the intentionality behind how we do it.

This is the second episode in our mini-series called, "Radical Hospitality & Meaningful Connections" (RHMC). In this episode, we continue to establish the biblical foundations of radical hospitality. Join us on this tour of the New Testament as we explore the significant theme of biblical hospitality!

In this mini-series of podcast episodes called, "Radical Hospitality & Meaningful Connections" (RHMC), we explore the mission, vision, and driving values of our church. If you are new to our church family and curious about the direction of our church, this is a great series for you to find clarity regarding who we are and where we're headed. We are also asking our Community Group Leaders and Ministry Leaders to listen to these episodes so that we can align our vision and direction as we serve alongside one another. In this particular episode, we survey the Old Testament to understand why the theme of hospitality is so significant in the Bible. Everything that we do as a church is rooted in God's Word, so we'll begin the series with the Bible.

"This episode is a big shout out to our colleague, Sue Gibson, who served at our church for 25 years on our team. Sue is planning to retire later this year, so we are honouring her with this episode and sharing our stories of how we have been blessed by her. Kaitlyn joins us on this episode to share her unique relationship with Sue during her time on our team. Thanks, Sue! We love you!"

Mary is back! It is so good to have our co-host back after her maternity leave for the last year and a bit. As we welcome her back to the podcast, she shares her experience of being away from the church staff and lessons learned from this unique time of being a new mom. Mary also shares some traumatic events that she went through and shows us the importance of faith and investing in the community of faith around us.

With special guests, Pastor Jayson and Richard Staples, we share what it's like to be a part of the tech team. Tech teams in churches work so hard to serve the church family, but they mostly go unnoticed and sometimes unappreciated. We want to express our appreciation for their hard work and let our listeners take a behind-the-scenes look at how services come together from a tech perspective. We talk about our Christmas services, the Good Friday service, and the great tech pivot during the pandemic. Enjoy this episode!

In this episode, we are joined by Pastor Jacob Harder who was recently affirmed as a pastor at SDBC. You will get to know Pastor Jacob through a bunch of questions and his very honest answers that give us insight into his life and the way he thinks. We'll learn of his values, desires, and prayer topics. Check out the episode and pray for Pastor Jacob as he engages in his new pastoral role at our church!

Pastor Paul is going on sabbatical! In this episode, Dayle Krahn (board chair) and Paul discuss what a sabbatical is in our context, what Paul will be doing on his sabbatical, and why it is a helpful tool to allow our team to serve the church well. We invite you to join in on this conversation and learn how you can be praying for our team while Paul is on sabbatical.

In this episode, Mary, Paul, and special guest Pastor Jordan Scott discuss artificial intelligence. So many people in our society are interacting with AI all the time. We use it as a helpful tool, but we also recognize that significant safeguards need to be put in place in order to protect our society from frauds, unethical practices, and other challenges. How should Christians interact with and respond to the rise of artificial intelligence? We encounter people who are gripped by fear of AI and others who are embracing AI without any critical thinking, and we believe both extremes are problematic. Join us as we have a healthy discussion about this important topic, and we hope this episode will encourage you to have these conversations about AI in healthy, biblically informed, and mature ways.
