My mind was totally somewhere else. Every day is a story. I'm Shannon Casen. My mind has been busy lately. Let me correct that. My mind is always running in some way, but it hasn't been organized lately. This has been all over the place. I had to take my uncle to a doctor's appointment yesterday and on my way to pick him up, I got a phone call that said I left my book bag with my computer in it at the front door. I was going to use the computer for some meetings that I had this after that afternoon, but I couldn't. So I just have to use my phone, whatever. So I go to pick up my uncle, get him to the doctor safely, and how it goes is I drop him off at the front entryway, then I go to park the car. And parking at the hospital sucks. So after park a far ways away and then I rush back to the hospital entrance to get him to his appointment on time. So we get to the front desk and the receptionist and you know, I like to like, have fun with the receptionist. I like your nails. You know, I'm charming to the receptionist. That's how you get better service. Uncle does the same thing. That's how you get better service. Nails, I like them nails. Oh, thank you, babe. That's how you get better service at the hospitals. So she gets us set up in the room and I turn the heat up in the room. Hey, can we turn the heat up a little bit? So I turn the heat up in the room and I, I prep for it and take off my coat. My uncle likes every room, like scorching hot. Even in the car, driving to the appointment. The, the car Temperature is on 80, so I take off my coat anytime I'm around my uncle. So I take off my coat, get comfortable, about to use my phone, forgot my phone charger, forgot my phone charger. So I had to walk back to the car. Long walk back to the car, back past the receptionist. I smile past the receptionist, back to the car, get to the car. My keys are in my coat. So now I gotta walk back long, walk back past the receptionist. It's a slight smile this time, you know, walk back, grab my coat, walk back past the receptionist again. She ain't smiling at this point. Get to the car, grab the charger, lock the car, walk back past the receptionist again. So I'm walking long walks each time. These are long walks. Finally get back to the room. Hot room, Take off my coat, sit down, get comfortable. Time to charge my phone, get into these meetings and send these Emails or whatever I gotta do. But okay, on the charger, there's these adapters. I have a USB C iPhone. But some. Some of these adapters still had these. The lightning charger. So I got this little adapter that I put in. Forgot the freaking adapter. The lightning to USB C adapter. So now I'm breathing hard, you know, doing the. And my uncle like, what's wrong? What's wrong? I don't want to bother. He ain't going to understand what I'm talking about with USB C at all. Well, he probably know, but I'm just saying at the same time, I'm like, nothing, Unc, man. I just. Nothing. None. But this time I'm gonna stop and go get me some Starbucks. I get some Starbucks in the. In that little open area that they got, little food court area. So I get my Starbucks, get my coffee medium black, Medium black. That's how I get my coffees real, man. Shit, you know? Long walk back to the car, and this time I tried to take a shortcut. I cut through some cars because you can kind of take a shortcut in the parking structure. Cut through some cars, and I don't see a curb as I'm walking. Terrible fall. If anybody was looking, they got a good laugh off of me. Terrible fall. Coffee down everywhere. My coffee is done. I don't even get mad. I just lay on the ground for a second, just kind of laughing at myself. Just laughing at myself. So, okay, I get myself up, forget the coffee, coffee's gone, get to the car. No coat, no keys. No coat, no keys. I can't even be mad at myself. I walk back, the receptionist, she's just staring at me, and I'm just staring at her. I go back and get my coat, walk back past the receptionist again. I said I just had to say something. I was just getting my steps in today. Just get my steps in, get back to the car, get the adapter, finally make it back so I can do some work. But I'll be honest, I forgot my appointment. I missed my appointment and all that. But one thing did happen. I got 11,000 steps in without even thinking about it. 11,000 steps without even thinking about it. So my moment of meaning was like, some days you miss it totally in one way, and then you make it in another. So what's the most times that you've ever had to double back, back and forth in one day? Do you get frustrated or do you just laugh it off? What's your story?
