Momentum matters. And when you have it, don't lose it. Every day is a story. I'm Shannon Cason. Make sure you like and subscribe. Pistons and the Magic Game seven. Now, watching basketball isn't as easy as just turning on the TV nowadays. It's a challenge. The NBA has made deals and signed contracts with all these various media companies. Cable, streaming, and everything else in between. When you see a game is coming, like you see your team is coming and they about to play a game and you want to watch it, you have to check the Internet to see where you actually be able to see the game. And you may have to buy a service. It's nuts. Yesterday I'm in Detroit and I want to watch the Detroit Pistons play Game 7 in the NBA playoffs. I couldn't find it. I saw I was on abc, so I was going to order this thing called Sling. It's a streaming cable service and they can give you a one day pass on it. So I bought it and I made a mistake. The game is on Sling Blue, and I had just bought a day pass for Sling Orange. They got colors to this thing. Bunch of bullshit, if you ask me. I never get that $5 back. I just. $5. I just threw it away. So I gave up on it. I'm like, whatever. I just see what the score is on the Internet. But I remember I talked to Amazon Echo and told it to play the radio station. But then I hated the voice. Like I like or love or hate voices, so I hated the voice who was doing the commentary. And I just had to turn it off. I turned it off, but then I remembered Tik Tok. So I checked on Tik Tok and it was a guy, man, bless your heart. It was a guy on Tik Tock who had took the chance to get his page banned and. And everything else. And he was streaming the game. He was streaming the whole game. I watched the whole game on Tik Tok Live, whatever that guy's name is. Hey, you an angel. I mean, he. He had it up there pretty good too. I just turned my phone sideways and watched it all. So the. The worst thing about all this is that my uncle, my older uncle that I talk about, he had trouble watching the game too. He doesn't even. He doesn't even have the Internet in his house. And he has cable, but cable. Right now ABC is battling with Xfinity about something. So he didn't have game seven. My sister had to find some. Some rabbit ears, take them over to the house, connect them to the tv so my uncle could watch the Pistons and Magic. Game seven. This is crazy, crazy, crazy. Okay, to the game. Momentum is wild. I know everyone isn't into sports and everybody isn't sports fan. I'm not as much as I used to be. But the thing about sports, you can watch momentum right in the minutes of a game. The change of momentum is a lesson. The Pistons have been a great story all year. Winning 60 games in the regular season, which is a really big deal, especially for the Pistons. They're the number one team in the east and they were going to play the ace, which is the Orlando Magic. But the Pistons go down three to one in a seven game series. Now Orlando only needs one game to win. AFC beating the number one team because it is now everybody is against the Pistons. They're calling the Pistons duds. They saying they were fool's gold. You know, they are never that good anyway. All the commentators, all the sports commentators, the Pistons go into game five, they win game five. Just for pride's sake, you gotta win game five. That's pride. Then in game six, they went 22 points down in the halftime. And then in the third quarter, started the third quarter, they're 24 points down. Most people, even myself, thought the Pistons lost. However, they didn't give up magic in that game. Lost the momentum to take that 24 point lead to close out the Pistons in that game six. The momentum shifted. Now the Pistons win that game by 14 points and they never looked back. The momentum had changed. The Pistons won game seven yesterday by 22 points. Now they face the challenge that all the champions, the great champions had to go through. They were on the brink of losing it all. But they shifted the momentum and like the lethal shooters say, you know, the guy on the Internet who shoot gummy bears and water bottles and stuff like that, I understand it now. That's an important part. Understanding momentum. Like I've had momentum at times and I really didn't understand it. I didn't understand what to do with it. I had a hundred thousand downloads in one month on this podcast. Then I waited too long to to release the next episode and just not understand the momentum. Self sabotage, being naive or all kinds of excuses. And many of us understand you know it too. I'm not alone. That's why I love sports. Because you can see so many life examples in a single season series or even a single game. And I'm excited to see how these Pistons handle this momentum that they have going into this next series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. I'LL be watching. Go Pistons. But the moment of meaning for me was don't squander momentum. You can be number one and on top. Don't squander it. It takes a lot of work to get that momentum going again, and there's no promise that you'll ever get it back. Detroit sports teams, we definitely know about this, so. So grab the momentum while it's there. You got to grab it while it's there. But what about you? Have you ever lost momentum and had to push and push and push, sometimes uphill, to get it back again? And what are some things that you might be pushing through right now that the momentum hasn't quite shifted yet? What's your story now? If you listening to this podcast and you're getting anything entertainment, a little inspiration. Leave a rating in review on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or whatever platform you use, do it now. It helps others find the show and I may read it on an upcoming show as well. So do that and I'll talk to you soon. Remember, every day is a story.
