This is an I Heart podcast host compensated for their time. I used to play team sports and shared a locker room with a whole lot of women plus 14 roommates in one college house. I still text, call or see so many of those women regularly. We talk about everything, even breast cancer which has affected several of my friends. Breast cancer has impacted all our lives in one way or another, so we know talking about it is important to share, understanding and to keep everyone updated. If you or someone you know was previously diagnosed with HR positive HER2 negative early breast cancer and went through treatment, you might be surprised to learn that it could come back. That's why I want to tell you about a breast cancer treatment called Kiskali. Kiskali ribociclib 200 milligram tablets are taken with an aromatase inhibitor. It's for adults with HR positive, HER2 negative stage 2 or 3 early breast cancer with a high risk of recurrence and it can help reduce the risk of cancer coming back. In a clinical study at three years, 91% of people taking Kiskali plus an aromatase inhibitor were cancer free versus 88% taking an aromatase inhibitor alone. Individual results may vary. Kiskali may cause serious skin reactions, liver problems and low white blood cell counts that may result in serious infections. Life threatening lung problems and abnormal heartbeats can occur. Your doctor should test your heart and blood before and during treatment. Tell your doctor if you have new or worsening cough, chest pain or dizziness before taking Kiskali. Tell your doctor all your medical conditions, medicines you take and if you're breastfeed, pregnant or planning to be as it can harm an unborn baby. Common side effects include nausea, headache and tiredness. It's all about doing more today to help protect your tomorrow. Visit kiskali.com, i know it's tricky to spell, so that's K I S Q A L I to learn more and ask your doctor if Kiskali is right for you.

Sophie
Yep, yep, yep.
Wes
Yeah. Are we rolling?
Sophie
I think we just rolled out of bed. Both of us, but also rolling.
Wes
Are you on the floor?
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Nice. I will say you have a different background every single time we record.
Sophie
Well, you just wait because this is like it's about to get even worse. At least you're. You're pretty consistent, I'll give you that.
Wes
It's just easier this way, you know?
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Welcome back to the show me something podcast episode, who knows what. Sponsored by the good people at Bees. Short for Arby's, dumbass.
Sophie
I've never heard that.
Wes
Okay, well, this is our second one of the week, so there's not a lot of catching up to do. There's more. Just talking about what's going on in the crazy, silly world we live in, I suppose. I saw the Pacers, tweeted you last night. Fun, cute, awesome. That's a good picture of you.
Sophie
Really?
Wes
I thought it was a good picture of you.
Sophie
Oh. Oh, well, thank you, thank you, thank you. I, I, I had actually a lot of fun. The Pacers are kind of not having the best year yet, but they have a lot of in injuries. But honestly, Brooklyn Nets aren't either, so I thought that maybe this is the one that the Pacers were going to get, but we didn't get it, which is okay. I still had a really good time courtside. Not that it's about me, but I had a great time.
Wes
The Pacers want. If they lose, they still want you to have a good time. That's important to them.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Yeah.
Sophie
No. I hung out with Tyrese's fiance, Jade, and she is such a gem and met a couple of her best friends, and they're just so fun. Like, love them.
Wes
She go to Iowa State also?
Sophie
She did. Yeah. She's a cheerleader.
Wes
That's right. That's right. That's right.
Sophie
Wait, have you. Have you watched the Starting Five on Netflix?
Wes
No.
Sophie
Oh, it's good. You should. It kind of.
Wes
What is that about?
Sophie
It's about basketball. And they just fought. Like, they picked five guys last year, and there's five guys this year that they follow and just go throughout the season and just like, kind of go into their lives every day. And Tyrese and Jade are one of the starting five.
Wes
It's like quarterback.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Like how they did it with all them. Yeah. Oh, I would watch.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
I'm curious your thoughts. And I'm. I should take a second and apologize for not even addressing. We recorded on Monday, and I forgot to mention how awesome the World Series was. Oh, I don't know if you actually. Dude, at the best Game 7, maybe ever. There were, like 10 separate moments where either team could have won. The Blue Jays were inches away from winning multiple times. The pop flying and deep left center were. The two dudes from the Dodgers ran into each other. Kike Hernandez. And I forget their center fielder's name.
Sophie
Well, he was. He's the one who subbed in. It's not their Starter. They subbed him in.
Wes
Yeah. And then two nights before when the ball got stuck. Then when the dude bases loaded, they throw him out at home as Will Smith's foot comes up. Like, it was so. It was such a good baseball game.
Sophie
One of my. My favorite thing watching that last Game 7, though, is when the. The pitcher threw and, like, hit two guys. Damn near. Yeah. So he hit someone, and then the next guy, he, like, almost knocked his face off. And they're like, what are you doing? And then that guy, he swung and the ball went back and hit the pitcher.
Wes
Did you see that? I. Yes, but I'm very bald on lie situation.
Sophie
Yeah. I thought it was so funny. I loved it. Loved it.
Wes
I actually did catch that in real time as. That was good. It's just incredible. And Yamamoto is their. Not Otani, but the Jack, their Japanese picture, who's, like, so good. The best I've ever seen.
Sophie
I didn't know that he pitched the night before. Dude.
Wes
And the two games before the night before, he threw two. Two complete games, which means all nine innings. Like, so crazy.
Sophie
Did he get mvp?
Wes
Yeah. Not Ohtani. Yeah. It should have been him, but, dude.
Sophie
Toronto had so many times that they could have won that ball game.
Wes
Could you imagine being a fucking Toronto fan there?
Sophie
Oh, I just felt so bad. Like, I thought this was going to be their year and the fans, like, just everyone deserved it. And there's just so many opportunities that they just didn't or couldn't capitalize on. And I felt so bad.
Wes
That's the most excruciating loss of any sports fandom. In a. In a minute. Okay? I wanted your take on this.
Sophie
Okay, ladies, gather around. Your wardrobe's about to level up. The Skims Fits Everybody Collection, Total game changer. Like, how is it even this comfy? The fabric literally moves with you. So supportive, yet chill. No squeeze, no stress. Just pure comfort and lift. And you don't feel it whatsoever. Big fan. I've been feeling this way for like a good maybe two years. Okay.
Sophie

Wes
Game seven of the World Series drew 50% more viewers than game seven of the NBA Finals. Says 2025 World Series game seven, 25.9 million viewers. And I believe this is nationally 2025 NBA Finals game seven was 16.4 million. I've kind of felt like the NBA is in a weird no man's land right now where, like, their old stars, like the Steph Lebron KD's are kind of like, like their exit has begun. And the MLB has just kind of been really fun the last few years. I don't know. And I just think baseball had obviously its window where, like, no one cared and people made fun of it. But I do think people do like baseball and it's gotten cooler and people appreciate going to a game and, yeah, hot dogs. And then the playoffs and there's a lot of cool guys in baseball. But I'm curious, your take WNBA fully aside on the state of the NBA as a product.
Sophie
There's so many routes that my brain goes with it because maybe it's like, you know, they tried adding in the tournament game, you know, where they can win money.
Wes
That didn't work.
Sophie
No, has not worked. The All Star, they've been trying different things with that to get more attention and more draw there. That hasn't worked. You know, I don't know. I really don't. And it just seems messy. It seems like you, you have these, these guys because like we say they're on their way out. They're still playing great fucking basketball.
Wes
Yeah, they're.
Sophie
They're still, still there, but they're, you know, they are just getting older, which is weird. So there's like a new flow of guys, but the old heads are still killing it, you know.
Wes
And so from what I've heard, also, like, the newer guys, one, they're all. They're like foreign dudes who don't have any interest in being American celebrities necessarily, like Luca and Wimby. And those guys have no. Like, they don't care, you know, and maybe Cooper Flag will be the guy, but it just feels like the new wave of NBA stars are less interested in being stars. Stars, which is. I kind of admire that for being honest. It's kind of cool. They don't give a shit.
Sophie
For sure. There's pros and cons there. But I also think too, you see a lot of teams, but a lot of like a lot of the groups of people that could win championships are splitting up. Like everyone's just like, kind of like you don't see like Star Pack teams anymore. You know what I mean? Like, I like, it's just weird. The NBA is weird to me right now.
Wes
I don't hate it. People hated the KD warriors though. Yeah, I don't know if that was good for the NBA either.
Sophie
I, I, it's hard to say, but I also a part of me wonders if, but you can't really argue this because baseball, they play a ton of games too.
Wes
But like, oh, cut the games.
Sophie
Yeah, yeah, but like I know, I know you really can't because of how much they're getting paid, but the amount of games like these, these athletes are exhausted. Like, are they putting on the best product that they could possibly put on every single night? I mean, I'm sure they try to, but I don't know if their bodies can withstand it. You don't know when guys are going to be sitting out. You don't know. You know what I mean? Like it just, there's just a lot of games, it seems like they don't put the best product out there. I mean last year, the two finals, like it was cool because Indiana has, hasn't been there in years. So like they really gathered around. Indiana gathered around. But I don't know, I don't know.
Wes
The fact that the finals was two teams from Indiana and Oklahoma, I was obsessed with. Yeah, not the warriors, not the Lakers, not the Knicks. Like I love that it was such landlocked fucking corn fed states. I thought that was really fun.
Sophie
Well, and I will say too, like with mlb, you have a team, Dodgers who would go back to back. So they're making history. You also have Toronto, who hasn't been there in how long? 30 years. 30. Yeah, there's history there. So it's like both kind of big headlines and people wanted to be a part of it. You know what I mean? So that could be something there too.
Wes
Yeah, well, see, I mean, I guess the question would be like okay, if The Lakers and LeBron or God, even LeBron, Bronny, that combo. Like do they need a storyline to make the final or make the finals or make the finals interesting? I really no idea. But okay, last thing I'll say, the game, I, I, I don't know. There was a game on in a bar the other night and I forget who was playing. Am I in like the Kings and someone else who cares? They had 71 points with like two minutes left in the first half. And I was just sort of. I, I, to me, that's gross. And there's no defense. Is that weird to you or is.
Sophie
That, does that, I mean, yeah, it just screams that they're, it's just offense only. But I do think that's why people were getting behind like the Thunder last year, because, like, they're younger kids and they all just play really fucking hard.
Wes
You know what I mean?
Sophie
Like, it's just so it. I mean, everyone always complains about how there's no defense and the, the NBA.
Wes
Not in the W. Yeah.
Sophie
Is there offense in the W? Who knows? Yeah.
Wes
Oh, okay. We're going to hop into a little something called Is this something. Did you see Tom Brady cloned his dog?
Sophie
Dude, that's weird.
Wes
I agree.
Sophie
That's really weird.
Wes
I agree. And I like Tom Brady. I think he's a funny, normal, handsome guy. But why did you do that?
Sophie
That's like, I think you're right. I don't have a problem with him, but he does some weird shit also.
Wes
People are always like, when your dog passes away, it's the sentiment is, you know, you'll never replace them. You'll just get a new family member, you know?
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Why are you trying to replace your old one?
Sophie
Dude, how do you even clone a dog?
Wes
I'm sure they take DNA and put it in a blender and then put a bunch of weird stuff in it and then put it in a MRI machine and then incubate it and then.
Sophie
See, this is why rich people do weird shit. Because they have fuck you money and they, they just find ways to do weird shit.
Wes
If you can clone a puppy, can you clone a human child? Like, is that, is that soon?
Sophie
Yeah, that's fucking weird to me. But still like him, just weird guy. Weird guy.
Wes
Okay. I interviewed Tom Brady this summer and he was the, he was fucking awesome.
Sophie
I'm sure he's awesome.
Wes
No, I know. I, Whenever you have a good interaction with someone carries for a long time. But I will also say, I would like to go on the record and say I was expecting Tom Brady's crew to be a nightmare. His team is like two dude, two dudes who are mid-30s and they were so fucking chill. And they were the chillest bros. And I was like, Tom's got like these homeboys just in baggy jeans running all his shit and they were so tight. And I, I, I want to shout out Tom Brady's team. A bunch of killers. Today's show is brought to you by our presenting sponsor, Hard Rock Bet. If you're new to sports betting, this is the app that actually makes it easy. Not sure what to wager on? Compensated for their time on the tennis court. My job was to have my partners back to cover the angles, call the plays and be there when it mattered most. Off the court, I try to show up the same way for the people I care about. Two in fantasy I think Rasheed Rice just goes off this week the Chiefs come on a flip pass to Rice near side.
Sophie
Touchdown.
Wes
Dude, Randre Stevens is my sleeper this week. This is a matchup where I think I can slide in Stevenson in my flex position and he could deliver double digit points this week. Drake takes the snap, hands it off for Madre, running it right and running into the end zone.
Sophie
Touchdown.

The unexpected happened in so many of these games and and I love it.
Wes
This week was like the defensive line stepping in, getting a stop on 4th and goal. Get the the old mo back on your side. It was a lot of good defensive stops, including in the game of the day. This week's games we previewed him. He is the best quarterback in the league this year. He reminds me a little bit of Tom Brady in his later years and this is a compliment. He's no longer hanging in quite as much to take those big hits because he's playing the long game. They're not going to get pressure on him. I news flash, it's not going to happen. I think they smoke him and so much more. For all you football sickos, listen to NFL daily on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. Okay. Also was just on Twitter. And it was a picture of you. Lexi and cece said you're caddying for something. What is that?
Sophie
Yeah, I'm catting. Also, I'm a dumbass if anyone's seen my story. I was like, four F O U.
Wes
R. And, yeah, four.
Sophie
Four. Like, heads up.
Wes
But it's F O R E. I fucking don't golf. And I knew that.
Sophie
Well, I didn't know. I knew I should have probably looked it up before I put it on my social media.
Wes
Did you. Did you delete and repost or did you leave up.
Sophie
Nope, left up. Posted with my. Posted. Just a kind of ugly photo of me. Like, four question mark. Yeah, I don't know. Like, I just. Like, I messed up. I have no idea. I don't know about golf. I'm really good at drinking and driving the golf cart, actually. Not a bad. I have a pretty good short game, too.
Wes
Yeah, mini golf is your thing.
Sophie
Yeah. Yeah. I would kill people at mini golf, but, yeah, I have no idea what I'm going to be doing. I don't really know how I even got invited to an event like this, but I'm really excited for it. It's in Florida. Caitlin will be golfing. Me and Lexi will. I have no idea what we're going to be doing, but I know me and Lex will be having a great time. Yeah. Hey, actually, speaking of great time, this is.
Wes
This is really funny. This is really funny.
Sophie
Stupid. Stupid. Yeah. See my. My next one, though. I fixed it.
Wes
Who are these hot, hot girls? Oh, is that.
Sophie
Oops.
Wes
That's probably Tyrese's fiance.
Sophie
One of them is.
Wes
Which one?
Sophie
The one on the very left. Oh, yeah, Abby. I've had a lot of people ask about Abby.
Wes
What is her story like?
Sophie
You up? Come to Indy?
Wes
You bet your ass I'm coming to Indy. We're going to St. Elmo's.
Sophie
Meet Abby. Yep.
Wes
And meet Abby.
Sophie
I bet a lot of people, they're like, who's the girl in the middle? I was like, okay, well, I'm asking.
Wes
You on a podcast, which carries more weight.
Sophie
There you go.
Wes
Very sweet.
Sophie
What I was gonna tell you is fun time. Dude, Six Flags is closing.
Wes
I. I only know. I only know this because I guess Travis Kelce is trying to help restore Six Flags, and the Internet is like, this is probably one of the more serious issues in Travis Kelsey's life is him trying to restore Six Flags, which is.
Sophie
Wait, he put money into Six Flags and now they're closing?
Wes
I don't know if it's just A PSA or something. But anytime people make fun of Travis Kelce for being a little like dumb, it's mean. But it is so funny because have you seen his old tweets that are always brought up?
Sophie
Yes. Just so fun.
Wes
So funny. So funny. Always. So I guess this is something he's trying to work on. He's trying to help bring back six. Actually, let's have Kev. Kev, need you. Can you Google Travis Kelsey Six Flags and pull that up? Yeah. See Travis Kelce, Six Flags. Investing in Six Flags is a genius moves as msn. Let's see more. He's teaming up with activist investor from Jana Partners to buy a 9% stake in Six Flags for 200 million. Oh, I feel like we gotta crunch those numbers some more. I don't to try to like keep it. Yeah, right.
Sophie
That doesn't make any sense.
Wes
Yep. He wants to buy a 9% stake for 200 million probably to. To keep this thing afloat. Six Flags share price is down 50% this year. I'm not an investor. It sounds like a lot.
Sophie
He's gonna have to buy more than 9% if they're all closing like, right? Or am I being dumb?
Wes
No, I. It doesn't make sense to me either.
Sophie
I don't get it. But he knows something we don't.
Wes
No, it sounds like there's. They're going to need some more financial infusion. They did a merger, I would say.
Sophie
Okay, tell me if this sounds familiar, but every holiday season there's that one person who it's impossible to shop for.
Wes
Honestly, I feel like that's me and my family. I feel like I give great gifts but no one knows what to get me.
Sophie
Well, for me, it's my sister. But this year I actually nailed it. I got her the bubble cuddle blanket and she texted me the next morning. Like I'm wrapping myself up and it's the easiest gift you can possibly get.
Wes
That's the best kind of present. It's something that people actually use.
Sophie
You know, I feel that and I feel like it can also get crazy. You have travel for us. We have games, families all over the country. And so she just takes it with her, gives it to her kids. The kids love it. So it's kid friendly, I would say, but it's cozy.
Wes
The best thing is I actually have one of these. I'm staring at it right now. And here's the kicker. They make it totally risk free. You get a hundred night sleep trial and a 10 year warranty. But that's I I bet no one in the history of the world has ever used it because it is.
Sophie

Sophie
So wrap up the ones you love in luxury with Cozy Earth. I've had some good fun times at Six Flags, though, I'm not gonna lie.
Wes
Well, I would like to speak up here and say. No, guys, no. As Missourians and Kansas City regulars, I went to fucking Worlds of Fun as a kid more than I went to Six Flags. Not you.
Sophie
I did. I did both. I did both.
Wes
I think I weirdly saw a video on Worlds of Fun and like someone's seatbelt on a huge roller coaster came undone literally a week ago.
Sophie
Oh, the Mamba. Remember the Mamba at Worlds of Fun?
Wes
Do you remember Rockbridge student section roller coaster? Remember that one, Matt?
Sophie
Yep, yep, yep. Yeah.
Wes
Shout Out, Matt. Dude, what a trend he started.
Sophie
Hell yeah. Oh, he started it.
Wes
Well, I don't. I doubt he started, like, the roller coaster itself, but at Rockbridge, he did. Guys, real quick, picture this, okay? Crazy student section Sophie's probably got. It's an off night. We gotta. We gotta fire Sophie back up. She's probably got six points. Four boards, Four sis. Okay, we're down four. Matt Kelly from the student section between the third and fourth quarter walks out in front. Everyone starts stretching. You gotta stand up. Everyone gets ready.
Sophie
Hey, let's do it. Wait, hold on a second. A sec. Okay, so then you gotta put it on.
Wes
So you got. You gotta. Everyone straps in and then you go, oh, you're waiting, you're waiting. You're waiting. You're waiting. You're waiting. And you gotta meet. You gotta mirror which way he goes. And you go backwards and you go forward. And then everyone's kinda like. Yeah, and then everyone's, like, hitting each other. And then he just gets turned up. And then, then we come out from. From a timeout and Sophie just cracks a three from the corner and we. Yeah, right.
Sophie
Oh, my God, that was so fun. Shout out roller coasters Wasn't it like the first time out in the third quarter or something? Right? Or like going into the fourth?
Wes
Between third and fourth.
Sophie
Yes. So fun experience. Hey guys, it's time for the latest segment, the hot girl of the week. Of course we doordashed our Arby's this week. We ordered the Gobbler and the apple pie shake, which was fucking banging. It was awesome. West ate his actually before. So I think what we're going to do for this week because the unrivaled rosters all just came out, so it's going to kind of be a little bit fun of who's actually playing in it. And so you're going to pick your team and I'm going to pick my team who I think's going to win.
Wes
Oh, I'm already going. I'm already fucking locking in the breeze. No offense. Paige. Paige.
Sophie
And Cameron.
Wes
Cameron Brink. I feel like that's pretty easy one. I do he see their highlights on my tl, I'm sure. Every single day.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Who else?
Sophie
I'm. I'm just, just now seeing who's even playing in it. I kind of think that the hive might be the sneaky winners.
Wes
Hive because of. Because of K. Mitch.
Sophie
Dude, you have Kelsey Mitchell, Sonya. She could have been rookie of the year last year. Like, she. It was like her page and she's a beast. Oh, really?
Wes
Right, right, right, right.
Sophie
Really, really good. Ezzy. She's like six five, can shoot really long, athletic. Great. Natisha Heideman, she's part of the stud buds. She's a fucking beast too. Lefty, very fast, good ball handler. Can shoot the shit out of the ball.
Wes
Minnesota.
Sophie
Yep, yep.
Wes
Yeah.
Sophie
Dialed Sanaya. She just like brings the hustle. She can shoot the ball. She does a little bit of everything. Good.
Wes
Lexi's on here. Rose.
Sophie
Yeah, Rose. So they won it last year. They're the defending champs, I think.
Wes
Can someone explain to me real quick, like, I'm 2 years old, is this like, is it a tournament? I know it's a league, but like, obviously these women are not playing 40 games during the offseason.
Sophie
So what. What it. What it is, it's like 3v3. And so I'm pretty sure. Or you. Yeah, 3v3. But they also play 1v1. But there's a lot of. This is good. This is kind of some tea. So both of these girls, great fucking players, right? Like, yeah, phenomenal. Can't say enough good things about them on the court, but they're also a part of our exec Board. And so that could be a little conflict of interest because w. And unrivaled.
Wes
I guess, because this is 3v3. And how. Over the course of how long? I'm curious. Oh, fuck me. Nine weeks. Oh, okay. I was gonna say if it's. It feels like just a little one off maybe, and then the WNBA can get behind it, support it for a little bit. Nine weeks is a long time.
Sophie
That's. That's why there's some conflict of interest a little bit.
Wes
Huh.
Sophie
Mm. So that's interesting. But I will say I think it's cool that they're paying these players because now they're allowed to stay stateside and.
Wes
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sophie
They. I think that they're. The first year. I think they're. It went actually pretty smoothly, and a lot of people really did enjoy it. And so now a lot of new people are back. A lot of the same old people are back. And so it's going to be. I think people liked it for the most part.
Wes
Damn. Okay.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
My hot girl of the week, if anyone cares, is my friend Alyssa, who ran the New York City Marathon, and she posted a video of her hugging her mom at the end of the finish line. And I cried a little. Oh.
Sophie
Oh, my God. So since you've been sending those, like, couple stories, are you getting them now? Oh, my God. My. For you is. But not even just like, the New York Marathon. It's like marathons in general and, like, I'm over here just, like, crazy crying non stop because it's so. It's like people in wheelchairs. Someone had like. There's this veteran who, like. Like, someone. I don't know what happened, but, like, amputated both legs and he still did it. Like, there's so many amazing stories.
Wes
Was that the one where his friend was filming with him and he was, like, pouring the water on his head throughout the.
Sophie
I saw that one too, but that's not. No, that was not. But I did see that one. So just so many good little moments. Yeah.
Wes
So awesome. Fuck, yeah.
Sophie
So I know we were only supposed to pick, like, one hot girl, but that was our Hot Girls of the week. Thank you to Arwies for helping us highlight all the hot girls out there. We know there's more hot girls, so send us a pic of you and your Aries order to our Instagram at Show me something. And we'd love to feature some of you and your stories on the show.
Wes
Okay. And to close it out, per usual, we're going to hit Tell Me something and hear what the listeners have to say.
Sophie
Oh, God. Hi, Sophie.
Wes
Hi, Wes. This is Anna from Pennsylvania. I enjoy your podcast.
Sophie
I can tell you've been friends for a long time.
Wes
My question is, do you think the NIL is ruining the purity of college sports? I get it that everybody's invested a lot of time, energy, and they want to get the fruits of their labor, but do you really feel that college students need to be paid extra? Again, enjoy your podcast. I'll go real quick because I have strong feelings.
Sophie
Yep, go for it.
Wes
Do I think players should be paid or deserve to be paid 100%? Yes. They deserve the money that they are like, to make back. That they're making the school. They're making the school a lot of money, especially football and men's basketball. And now a lot of women's programs can make the school a lot of money. The part of it that it has ruined for me is the transfer portal. And the lack of loyalty to schools is gone. Which sucks because I don't blame a player if another school is offering them. Hey, like, I went to an FCS school, Montana State. The second we have a player who is really, really, really good, a bigger school is going to offer them more money than Montana State can offer them, and we lose great players. Same for basketball. That part fucking sucks. And it also makes it hard. When it's hard for coaches, it's hard for fans. Your. Your team is not. There's no nucleus. There's no growth. People just leave. And I. I do miss when a player would commit to a school and then stay there for four years and they love that school and then they can always come back and it's really fun. And I think I could do a full. I could do a full episode on Nil Transfer Portal. And why it, like, makes me sad. And I think the purity and the loyalty is gone. And that's something that I've always loved. However, like, when I was in college, before meeting sometimes we would. They would put us in these. They would send us into these rooms to sign stuff for 20 minutes before we had film or whatever and then walk out. And then I was like, do we just go sign our names for the school to sell for, like, however much money? Like, there are some times where you are like, what the fuck are we doing? Like, so, yes, players deserve the money, but I also think it's a kind of ruined things. So there we go.
Sophie
He. Yeah, I agree everything with what you said.
Wes
All right, guys, next question for you.
Sophie
Here is a dating question.
Wes
Hey, Guys, big fan of the podcast. I'm Sam. Hope recovery is going well. By the way, I don't have great luck with the ladies, so I was hoping you could help me out with this situation I got. So I was interested in this girl at work. We actually started DMing a little bit. The issue is she'll only message me through her dog's Instagram account. So we do have some conversation, but it's like, through her dog account, as if we were dogs, might I add. So the texts are kind of borderline flirty, but on very dog heavy topics, like chasing squirrels, playing with. Playing with bones and toys.
Sophie
What type of bones?
Wes
I'm really not sure where to go with this. Is that in my wheelhouse? Is this like a good sign? Do I ask her out? Do I ask the dog out?
Sophie
No, this is not normal.
Wes
You know, I guess I can't rule out that it's not actually the dog talking to me. But anyway, so what is my. What's my next move here? Really want to know. P.S. i think I speak for a lot of us, but fingers crossed. At the core of the fever. Stay together because it's an awesome vibe and great to watch.
Sophie
So let's get this done. No. All of it. No. Wes, don't even try to make sense of it. That's weird as fuck. I would stop. You guys are not dogs. I don't. This. Don't even go there. You have to. Don't go there.
Wes
Here's what you need to do. Stop pretending your dogs on Instagram. Get her in person and not a dog park. And don't bring the dog. Go get a beer with her. And if she starts sniffing you and being weird, then maybe we. Maybe we move on. But I can't help but hear you. In the beginning, you mentioned you're not on a hot streak with the ladies right now, so this might be kind of the one egg in your basket.
Sophie
No, this is why I said don't try to make sense of this.
Wes
Yeah, get her to meet you out so that we can get rid of all the dog stuff. Because that part of it, we. We gotta get rid of.
Sophie
No, this is a huge red flag. Just stop. Just. I would not even go there. Dude, you're acting like you're a dog.
Wes
He said just sometimes, just a little.
Sophie
Next.
Wes
Or maybe you'd be into it. You don't know until you go chase a squirrel.
Sophie
No.
Wes
I'm rooting for you.
Sophie
You're so annoying.
Wes
Just get her in person and get out of the DM because DMs. People can. It's like a fantasy. You got to get out of there.
Sophie
Clearly, she thinks she's a dog. Or she just.
Wes
She embraces the dog.
Sophie
That's weird. Hey, Kev, would you talk to a girl who thought she was a dog?
Wes
I would say he's barking up the wrong tree. That's a Sophie joke. I feel like that rubbed off of me. I feel like such a Sophie joke.
Sophie
I like it.
Wes
Sophie rubbed off on you, Kev. Oh, dude, this is. See, I gotta be so wary with what.
Sophie
I like this. I like this. Hello, my name is Socorro and I.
Wes
Am from New Mexico. I would like to ask west and Sophie if they have ever had a close friend of the opposite sex who wanted to be more than just friends after a long friendship. And if you don't feel the same way and you don't feel the same way, how would you let that friend off? Easy. If that is even possible. I would like your opinion or your answers. I love your podcast. Thank you very much.
Sophie
That's cute. She seems nice.
Wes
Yeah, she does seem nice.
Sophie
Celeste, why don't you tell us about your history of girl best friends?
Wes
I'm trying to think if any of them have. I don't think anyone has, like, one day just been like, hey, I love you kind of thing. Yeah, I've hooked up with friends before, and you just have to hopefully both know it is what it is.
Sophie
But what if, but what if, what if someone catches feels?
Wes
I don't, I don't think anyone who's done that would be susceptible to catching feels. I, I, at least in New York, people are pretty, have their heads on pretty straight and keep things moving. I can imagine. I could only imagine.
Sophie
I've never heard that before. People in New York have their heads.
Wes
On straight with dating. Yeah. No one's like, oh, my God, like, you know, people are just like, let's get it going. How would you let someone down?
Sophie
I think you just have to be honest.
Wes
Yeah, you hook up once and then you gotta be honest afterwards.
Sophie
But I think she's saying they haven't even. I don't think that they. That's actually funny. Okay. That's funny. Oh, I don't. I just feel like you have to be honest. But I don't know, I guess she's not feeling it.
Wes
So Sophie, Sophie's probably had maybe a teammate in her history. Anyone ever told you they have feelings for you?
Sophie
No. Because they're always like, yeah, you're straight as fuck.
Wes
Damn. Okay. How would you let Someone down. Sophie, any idea here?
Sophie
I mean, if you're not feeling it, then just say that. Or just like, say you don't want to ruin the friendship you. You have and. Mm. Like. Like it's different. If, like, if she was to feel kind of the same thing, then. Then that would be. She'd be more like, oh, I've been wanting you to say that, but if you're not, then you just have to be like, you know, I just don't want to ruin what we have. I love you to death, but just don't see you in that light. I don't know.
Wes
Yeah, but do it at dinner, in a movie, so they. So they know you see while you're holding hands.
Sophie
Yeah.
Wes
Yeah.
Sophie
And then, like, this close to each other.
Wes
I just want to be your friend.
Sophie
Yeah, I just.
Wes
I just want to be friends with you.
Sophie
Don't send any mixed signals.
Wes
I'm starting to feel something in my pants, and it's friendship.
Sophie
I knew you were going to say that. I knew you were going to say that.
Wes
But we both think that you sound very lovely. And if we were in New Mexico, we would love to have a coffee with you in the morning.
Sophie
We would love to go get dinner with you.
Wes
Yeah, we just want to get dinner and get to know you really well.
Sophie
Just as friends.
Wes
Just as friends. Unless cut. And then cut.
Sophie
Yeah, unless. Wes, I think you did a great job today on the podcast.
Wes
Thanks, Sophie.
Sophie
And I hope you listeners had a really great time with us on this Thursday. I'll see you next week.
Wes
Bye, guys.
Sophie
Love you.
Wes
That was hot.
Sophie
Host compensated for their time. I know many strong women who are breast cancer patients, so as you might imagine, it's a topic especially near and dear to my heart. Watching them suffer through the challenges of their experiences made me realize I wanted to help other women not only become more comfortable talking about breast health, but also help them learn about breast cancer treatments that may be available to them. That's why I want to tell you about Kiskali. Kiskali ribociclib. 200 milligram tablets are taken with an aromatase inhibitor. It's for adults with HR positive HER2 negative stage 2 or 3 early breast cancer with a high risk of recurrence, and it can help reduce the risk of cancer coming back. In a clinical study at 3 years, 91% of people taking Kiskali plus an aromatase inhibitor were cancer free versus 88% taking an aromatase inhibitor alone. Individual results may vary. Kiskali may cause serious skin reactions, liver problems, and low white blood cell counts that may result in serious infections, life threatening lung problems and abnormal heartbeats can occur. Your doctor should test your heart and blood before and during treatment. Tell your doctor if you have new or worsening cough, chest pain or dizziness before taking Cascali. Tell your doctor all your medical conditions, medicines you take and if you're breastfeeding, pregnant or planning to be as it can harm an unborn baby. Common side effects include nausea, headache and tiredness. Defense is important on and off the ice and Kiskali is all about doing more to help protect your tomorrow. So find out how you can too. Visit kiskali.com that's K-I S Q A L I.com to learn more and ask your doctor if Kiskali is right for you.
Wes
What a matchup we got y'.
Sophie
All.
Wes
This is that classic HBCU vibe. Non stop action. The band is rocking and the crowd lit. Chance echo drum beat everybody showing that school pride. Game like this. Yeah. Heck calls for an ice cold Coca Cola. Ah, crisp and refreshing. That's a game changer right there. Yeah, that taste always hits the right note. Just like the band at halftime. And just like that, we're back at it. Passionate fans, school colors everywhere and an ice cold Coca Cola. That's a winning combo no matter the sport, no matter the yard. Everybody knows fan work is thirsty work. So grab a Coca Cola and keep that HBCU pride going.
Sophie
Greatness doesn't just show up, it's built.

Episode: Sophie Cunningham on Unrivaled League TEA, Tom Brady’s Dog & Viral Dating Drama
Date: November 6, 2025
Podcast: Show Me Something (iHeartPodcasts & The Volume)
Hosts: Sophie Cunningham, Wes Wilson
This episode is classic "Show Me Something": breezy, playful, and packed with locker-room gossip, sports hot takes, and hilarious digressions. Sophie and Wes bounce between WNBA insider tea, personal stories, and trending headlines—like Tom Brady’s cloned dog and viral dating disasters. Listener questions spark discussion on college athletics’ NIL deals and the oddest DMs, while the hosts highlight their ‘hot girls of the week’ and riff on Missouri friendship, amusement park nostalgia, and the current state of the NBA.
‘Is This Something?’ Segment:
Six Flags Closing - Travis Kelce’s Investment:
The conversation flows with the easy wit of two longtime Missouri friends—irreverent, authentic, and openly supportive of each other and their listeners. Sophie brings WNBA insight and Midwest warmth, Wes keeps the banter sharp, and both aren’t afraid of a little self-deprecation (or ribbing each other for social media errors). The Q&A segment, especially the outlandish dog-DM story, is delivered with both humor and genuine (if slightly exasperated) advice.
This episode is a perfect jump-in point for the “Show Me Something” brand: equal parts behind-the-scenes sports chat, quirky pop-culture riffs, and personal storytelling. You get locker-room gossip, honest analysis, Marvel-level friendship, and a distinct sense of Missouri pride—plus, you’ll never DM someone as a dog again.
