Oliver Hudson
To find a three bedroom closer to.

I'm Rodney Williams. And I'm Travis Holloway. Welcome to the wealthbreak podcast, a real conversation about finance. Let's be honest, building wealth doesn't look the same for everyone.
Oliver Hudson
I feel like sometimes being broke is.
Marianne DeMarco
A cycle and that we might have to revisit that.
Kate Hudson
And we're not stopping at success stories.
Cindy Crawford
What happens when it doesn't go right?
Oliver Hudson
How do you cope with it?
Kate Hudson
Because wealth isn't just about money, it's about creating a life where you thrive and help others do the same. Listen to the Wealth Break podcast on the iHeartRadio app. Hi, I'm Kate Hudson and my name is Oliver Hudson.
Marianne DeMarco
We wanted to do something that highlighted.
Kate Hudson
Our relationship and what it's like to be siblings. We are a sibling rivalry. No, no. Sibling revel for free. Don't do that with your mouth. Sibling revelry.
Oliver Hudson
That's good.
Kate Hudson
So it's been a minute. It has been a minute since I've spoken to nobody into this microphone that is potentially reaching billions of people. Because I was just informed that we have just reached the 6 billion download mark, which I think is a record. But I was summer traveling with the family, all of us in Europe, and we were in London, we were in Greece. Now we're in Colorado. True family vacay. All the cousins, brothers, sisters, mom, pa, everyone. And it was just so fun to be with your entire family like that. Can it get contentious? It can, but it didn't. It was just fun. And when you get everyone together, you know, you really feel the family unit. Obviously, you feel it when you're not, because you're just interconnected spiritually, emotionally. But when you're all together, that energy just starts to pop. And it was incredible. Truly, truly incredible. But I won't get into the details because we have Marianne DeMarco in our waiting room. She's a medium, she's a psychic. She can see the future. I actually have experience with this. I'm very interested in it. I have been consulting the Oracle since I was a kid because my mother was very into it. So I. And I have a little story to tell, actually. So let's bring her on. Let's get into this.
Oliver Hudson
How's it going?
Kate Hudson
I'm good. How you doing?
Oliver Hudson
I'm doing great. Thanks so much for having me.
Kate Hudson
Of course. Thanks for coming on. It's a little nutty right now. I'm in a kid's bedroom in Colorado. We have a full house in the cabin, so there's no room to do shit. So I'm just sitting on the floor. You know, very professionally, though, legs are.
Oliver Hudson
I'm in between homes. I'm in between homes. I'm in a little condo in Florida. I don't even want you to see what's around me. So we've got the same vibe going on facing the wall, so you can't see anything.
Kate Hudson
Okay. And for the record, I am wearing pants. I just want to make that clear.
Oliver Hudson
Likewise.
Kate Hudson
Okay, good, good. Well, I am really excited to talk to you for so many different reasons. First of all, you know, my mother has been consulting oracles, both mediums and psychics and astrologers. So there's these. This is a crazy diversion, but there's these girls who came on our show called the Astro twins. And they.
Oliver Hudson
Yes.
Kate Hudson
You know who they are?
Oliver Hudson
I've heard of them. Yes.
Kate Hudson
And I'm going to get into this story in a second. I was planning on doing it a little bit later, but they literally just texted me as we're talking. It's really funny. Okay, back to my. My world. So, as a young man, I have been interested and involved in consulting oracles and psychics. And it always fascinated me. I would use. Use some of these sessions to help make decisions about jobs I didn't want to do, but maybe thought I should do, you know, about finances or relationships or whatever it is. And they always make you feel good. And of course, me being the deep diving question guy, I'm always like, well, what if you're doing a reading? And like, oh, shit, this dude's gonna die in five years. I mean, because not everyone who does readings has a long, prosperous, happy life.
Oliver Hudson
No, that is true. You know, that's an exercise. That's an exercise in boundaries, though, as a reader.
Kate Hudson
Well, but how do you deal. How would you deal with something like that? I mean, and has that happened in your practice where you're like, oh, Jesus, this does not look good.
Oliver Hudson
Yeah. You know, when I was younger, because, like you, my mom, really into all of this stuff, I grew up learning about ascended masters, psychics coming in and out of the house, sort of taught to rely on my own psychic ability. So I've always known that I could do this. And I believe that everybody can do it. Each one of you? Oh, absolutely. That's why I wrote the book. That's why I write the books I write, because I want someone to not have to come to somebody like me. I want them to rely on their own psychic and intuitive abilities that we've all been born with. So to answer your question, when I was younger, wide open, really, no boundaries, spiritually, yeah, I saw some really scary things. I saw, you know, shadow of. Of what I now know was death on a close friend of mine when I was really young. She died the next day. I understood what I saw. Yeah. So when I started doing this work, I learned quickly that I could say no. I could say, don't show me death. Don't show me illness. I don't want to be responsible for that.
Kate Hudson
Got it.
Oliver Hudson
When I'm reading somebody and what I hope when people interpret their own guidance and is that you're seeing the best path, the most prominent path in your life cycle, in your soul story. So for me, I won't see any of that stuff. Does it mean I don't get warnings. Does it mean that I can't say to somebody, you know, might want to be careful here, take a look what your guides are showing you and be aware? Absolutely. I get that all the time. It's supposed to be very helpful. And that's what our guides do. They're here to guide us. But when I'm reading people, I don't know that that would serve. So when I teach psychics, because mostly I teach now, and when I teach them about giving readings, will that message serve? Will it give care, concern? Is there compassion? Is there a good intention? Will that person walk away saying, I walked away with something, or are they going to walk away freaked out? I don't think it serves because then we can manifest the worst if it gets into our brains. Our brains.
Kate Hudson
Right. That's interesting. Yeah. I mean, it's not. It's not. It's not being deceptive. It's being selective.
Oliver Hudson
Exactly. Observation and information. And if you're working from the greater good and for the highest good, is that going to serve? I tell people, when you receive a reading, if you're not feeling it, and if you're feeling like you're getting something heavy that isn't in alignment with what your gut is telling you, I don't receive that. You just put your hand up and you're like, that's not for me. And maybe you get up on out of there, too.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
Go to someone more positive.
Kate Hudson
Right. So you grew up with this?
Oliver Hudson
I did.
Kate Hudson
Like, yeah. I mean, it's interesting. Family business.
Oliver Hudson
Such a family business.
Kate Hudson
No, I know. I mean, look, we all have a. I have a family business. Everyone in our family are in the movie TV business, you know, and you growing up with, you know, in the way that you did, it was almost like a foregone conclusion that this is what was going to happen to your life.
Oliver Hudson
Totally. I mean, I craved normalcy. I didn't really want to be the psychic kid. I didn't want my mom talking about psychic abilities and all the things in front of people. I wanted to just ignore all of that. But I couldn't deny what I knew to be true. And now at this age, I understand all of it. I understand exactly why I had all these experiences, how much I've learned throughout my life by utilizing these tools. And. And then, of course, what we learn, we teach. And so I'm able to give that over to others and hopefully empower something within themselves to be able to share that.
Kate Hudson
At what point were you. Did you make the decision that this is your path, you know, I mean, because you were young, you're feeling these things, seeing these things, and then you get older and you're in high school and, you know, you're a young girl woman, then you go to college. I don't know if you went to college, but at what point is it like, oh, you know what? This is what I'm going to do? I mean, did you want to be like, an engineer?
Oliver Hudson
First I thought I'd be a teacher. I thought I'd be a foreign language teacher. I was really into foreign languages. I loved acting. I thought I'd do some acting. And then I wound up getting into, like, retail business, and I stayed home with my kids. And then in my mid to late 30s, I went through a divorce, and we had a close loss at that time. So I was in the middle of double grief managing these two little kids, and I wound up getting an appointment, having an appointment with this woman named Pat Longo, who has just since passed. And I thought she was a psychic. I thought I was going to get a psychic reading because I really could use the reading. And she said to me, oh, I'm not a psychic. I teach people how to get in touch with their abilities. And just quite automatically, I looked at her and I said, I think I'm supposed to see you now. And out of what felt like a really desperate time came probably the most. The biggest connection of the most authentic part of myself, which was learning how to do this. And at the time I was asking, I was really trying to manifest. I needed a job, I needed stability, I needed flexibility to still stay home with my kids and do what I needed to do there. And then I started taking classes with her and started reading people with just a few weeks.
Kate Hudson
Yeah. Wow.
Oliver Hudson
Yeah.
Kate Hudson
So how does this work? You know, because, look, you don't know me, but I like psychics. I believe in there's higher energy. You know, at the same time, I'm not going to manifest two feet of snow because I want good skiing. You know what I mean? Like, I don't believe that necessarily agree. You know, if you're manifesting money or selfish things or I want a car or, you know, I want this. I. I just wonder how this works from a. Almost a biological standpoint, because I understand that we can change neural pathways, you know, kind of fake it before you make it. There's all kinds of stuff. I've been in a billion years of therapy, so, you know, I could be a therapist at this point. So how do. How do you square that. What is manifesting.
Oliver Hudson
Manifesting for me is. Well, there's steps to it for me too. Learning how to connect with your guides, we all have them here, your universal team on the other side, spirit guides, loved ones, angels, God, universe, whatever it is for you. And believing in that connection, believing that you have the ability to make that connection is a great start. Understanding how to work with that energy within yourself to make that connection is where you start with true manifesting. The second half of that is the understanding that you already know your story within yourself. Your story lives, it's within you, it resides within you. And your guides are here to highlight that. They're here to help you hear your most highest and best self. So if we believe in that and we believe in the power of our thoughts and our mind and the fact that we know the story, then we know that we are co creators in our life with the universe and within ourselves, that this is a team effort. So when you're manifesting, pay attention to intuitively and does it feel good or is my ego in this? Am I manifesting something from the greater good and for the higher good, or do I just want to go skiing next weekend? Now, there's nothing wrong with saying, hey guys, I'd really love a great snowy fluffy mountain this weekend because we're supposed to have a little fun with it. Universe doesn't want us to be so strict. But true manifestation, the real nitty gritty stuff, if you really want to change your life, takes that power of commitment of the belief system within self and within Source. But you said it and you forget it because the underlying value in all of that is the trust. Put it out there. Here's what I want, here's what I see myself intuitively going, here's what it feels like to me. And I think what I love what you're saying and what I feel what you're saying is that it's not magical. We are part of it. So as the universe starts to show you how to get that story done, how to get to that manifestation that you're looking for, it's our job to say yes. It's our job to do the work that's involved. It's our job to learn the lessons along the way that come with all of that. And to me that makes, I think it's much more beneficial you appreciate how come so much more.
Kate Hudson
But yeah, again, and playing devil's advocate or being the skeptic, even though I'm not really, but I always like to question everything, do it. There's 8 billion people in the world. Right. You know, how many. How many of these people are actually trying to manifest something for their lives and how many of them fall short? You know, like, that's where I go to as well. You know, it's like, well, I. I gotta get out of this poverty. I want a better life for my kids. And I'm trying to. And it, you know, it doesn't happen for everybody. Obviously, it can't. So how do we, again, square, you know, who's more blessed and who's like, not as blessed, essentially, you know, Exactly. How do you, you know, what do you say to the person who's like, I've been manifesting something pure and personal and it's not about me. And. But it just has never worked for me.
Oliver Hudson
And for how I've learned how to manifest in the way that I teach it is that even rejection can be protection. That there's something within that storyline that maybe we have to dig deeper and understand why those manifestations aren't coming into fruition. And what did your soul come here to learn? It's a theory. It's something that I work on in a meditative state with my guides and through the work that I do just to try and understand it on a base level. I try not to go down rabbit holes because I feel like it's a distraction from the work. And so I rather try to understand my own soul story and understand, hey, why doesn't that come into fruition? Personally, for me, it usually brings me back to a space of what I've been holding onto that's not serving me. Is it fear? Is it doubt? Is it ego? Is it my own brain telling me I'm never going to get there? You're never going to get there. So you just always hold yourself down. Am I listening to people around me that are coming in and saying, you know, you can't do that. You know, that's not going to come in. And so you have to really choose how you think. Free will is a huge part of that, of course. And so your choices come into play. And then, of course, what type of energy are you surrounding yourself? And where does that school of thought come from? It's. I love the question. And it's. And it's an honest question because I think people really wonder about that. And then they feel sort of cheated.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
You know, because they see other people and they're like, wow, that's really working out for them. Yeah, where's my bag? You know, what's going on.
Kate Hudson
I've lived that way, you know, I mean, my hat says black sheep. Okay. Because even though I've had a successful career, by anyone's standards, right. I still have mom and Kurt and Goldie and Kate and now Wyatt who's blown up. And I've always had this self deprecating self talk and I'm the black she and blah, blah, blah, you know, and it's probably not healthy, but it's part of my maybe a protection mechanism and.
Oliver Hudson
It'S also my humor protection mechanism is a huge thing. What you just said is one of the key components of the book, the guides book that I have out now. It is, why are we doing that to ourselves? And that's the story that I get really curious with. Why am I so embedded in. I talk a lot about comparison syndrome within myself.
Kate Hudson
It's my life.
Oliver Hudson
Oh, yeah, mine too.
Kate Hudson
And what the fuck? This is bullshit. I should have this, you know, I mean, and it's like, oliver, that is not healthy. I'm like, and I don't care if it's healthy. This is how I feel.
Oliver Hudson
Because you're comfortable there, Oliver.
Kate Hudson
Yeah, right.
Oliver Hudson
We know. We know what that feeling is. And so what I started to do was say, well, well, what is it about that situation that I'm finding is just riling everything up within myself? And so I started to get to work with that. Who gave this to me in the first place? Where did it start? Take me there? Guides. And then I would go to that age and start to get to work. It's very therapeutic. But I do it in a spiritual way and I started to understand deeper stories about myself. Does it take the comparison syndrome away? No. But what it does do is it lets me answer it differently. It allows me to say, ah, you know what? That's just my bs. That's just what I do to myself. I've been here before. Let me answer it differently. When you answer differently, you change that trajectory of the feelings and everything else involved with it.
Kate Hudson
Yeah. And if you can put yourself in a place of, rather than envy or jealousy or sort of comparison or that sometimes like hatred, where you're like, what is this poison that I'm feeling? If you can flip that and you can truly be happy for that person, the feeling is overwhelmingly incredible. You're like, oh my God, have actual genuine joy for this person's success. And it almost is. There's an elation to it.
Oliver Hudson
It's a relief.
Kate Hudson
Yeah, it's a relief.
Oliver Hudson
Exactly. It's a relief. And so I go into gratitude for the reflection of the lesson that I can learn in that moment. And then I start doing what you do and saying, you know what? Good for them, they're a good person, they've worked hard, they deserve it. Or their relationship looks great. I hope they find love. I love watching love and witnessing whatever it is for you. And then all of a sudden I'm out of that space and my whole body relaxes, my mind relaxes and I'm able to hold myself accountable for the feelings that aren't serving. And I just, I'm able to move on. And to me that's liberating. It's been one of the most freeing parts of doing this work for self is allowing myself to move into those spaces of accountability and then changing it up.
Kate Hudson
And it also just opens you up for more success because you no longer are using all that, all the capacity with negative energy. You know, you've opened yourself up to bringing more in. You know, I, I've, I try and it's, it's, it's work in progress shit, you know, but for me personally, you know, I feel like I have so much untapped talent. Pushing 50 because I have lived my life a little bit differently. I've not been extremely career oriented, I've been family oriented. I've been fun. First type of a guy deathbed scenario. I would rather be on a vacation in Europe than do a movie because what am I going to remember, you know, when I'm surrounded by my grandkids? Not a movie, you know?
Oliver Hudson
Well, yeah.

Kate Hudson
But now that I'm pushing into my later years, it's like I have. I know from a creative place, from a creative standpoint, I have so much, and I think differently, and I view the world a bit skewed, and, you know, there's a part of me that needs to get it out there, but there's fear with the fear that goes with that. There are. There is probably ADHD shit where I get overwhelmed by a lot of the process.
Oliver Hudson
We're very similar. Very similar.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
You know, I'm 54, and I feel like I'm just getting started.
Kate Hudson
Yeah. I mean, I feel like I live.
Oliver Hudson
Like, all these lives, you know, I've lived lots of different lives. I talk about reinventing yourself in the book, like Madonna, you know, she's been.
Kate Hudson
All these, like, you're 54. You look fucking incredible.
Oliver Hudson
I think it's the natural filter on zoom.
Kate Hudson
I gotta be honest. You look good. You look good.
Oliver Hudson
Thank you. Thanks. I appreciate that. But it's sort of like, all right, well, what. I don't. I don't want you to reinvent the Oliver wheel. Like, I don't want to reinvent the Marianne wheel. There's parts of myself that are in my shadow, and I have to. I have to love her all the same.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
Right. And if I try to fight her, she just fights harder.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
Brash. You know, she's a little sassy. Right. I'm not really up for a fight with her, so I have to let her come through. Sometimes how I answer her is, the key is the change that has made that shadow for me more thoughtful. It's allowed me to sort of look and say, all right, I made these choices. And they. And your choices have served you well in lots of areas. Right. Being with family, one of the most important things you can do, how your perception, your perspective going forward, is it calling you. Is your intuitive self calling you to say, okay, we see what you've done here, but, you know, you signed up for all this creative stuff, stuff now, and that adhd, because I feel like I'm undiagnosed with that as well. We have very similar stories, and I'm just learning about it, you know?
Kate Hudson
Yeah, me too.
Oliver Hudson
Not thinking so how do I reprocess all of that and allow it to be even more powerful? How do I use these things that I thought were holding me down as superpowers and working with my guides, being in meditative states. Not too heavy because I'm not like a deep meditator. I'm. I sort of talk to my guides and my higher powers just like I'm talking to you. And just because I'm psychic doesn't mean that I'm the only one who can hear them. And it doesn't mean also that I. I get out of all of what we're talking about here. Yeah, plenty of things that have happened. How I answer them, it's just because I've learned some tools to maybe do it a little differently.
Kate Hudson
So it's got. So talk about the guides really quickly because this, I love this idea that everyone can sort of tap into their higher self, which I do believe. I did a process called the Hoffman Institute, and it was incredible. And I've talked about so much on this podcast, but it was just about, you know, negative love patterns. Get going through your childhood, understanding who your parents were and why you are. Because of their own patterns that they got from their grandparents or the other parents. And it's that's, it's that. It's that. That, you know, lineage of disaster that you can break. Anyway, you have these breakthroughs and you're so clear. I've never felt more clear in my life. That. And then the week after that, I felt psychic. I mean, I could see things and predict things and encountering people who were the coincidences were not just that. You know, I do believe that you can get into that. As far as your guides go, how do you find your guides? You know, I mean, and are the guides different for everyone? And do they manifest themselves as faces, as human beings or as just energy?
Oliver Hudson
Yeah. Yes to all of that. You know, it really depends on your upbringing, your frame of reference for things. Our guides are a universal team comprised of, yes, spirit guides, loved ones, angels, like I said, God, whatever. Your frame of references, that works. I ask people to lean into that. Let's again, that's not try and make. Reinvent the wheel of something so outside of the box that it becomes unrelatable as you go along in a consistent spiritual practice, more will be revealed. And then you can see the expansion that they give you and how they give it to you when you're working with them. And why I lean on them so much and how you do it is really just finding A practice that works within your own authentic space. What works for you? Like I just said to you, I'm just talking to them. I'm just talking to them just the way I am speaking to you. But that sort of evolved and psychically why it starts to work. And what you brought out, you did this Huffman thing, right? And it cleared space. So for that time, you weren't holding on. You learned a method that you weren't holding on to everything and you allowed your psychic abilities to come to the forefront because all that clutter went away and you entered entering clarity then when that happened. So it's the same thing when you're working with your guides. It's understanding a practice and what works for you. I teach about how to do those things in the book, making it consistent, believing that you can, and then creating a relationship just like with anybody else who, who would be a guide.
Kate Hudson
And this is for people too, who. It's not necessarily going down a career path as a psychic. This is just for your own well being.
Oliver Hudson
This is for your own well being. Every single person can do this. The books I write are not just. They're not for psychics. I mean, they are my last book, Media Mentor. If you're looking to be a psychic, yes, but that's for regular people too. That's for anybody. It's anybody looking to make a deeper connection and a higher connection in a really practical way. There's so much. You grew up like me, you know, there's so much wooing around all of this. And I find it so frustrating because there's a label that's attached to sort of being a psychic medium and what that means. And it's sort of mystical and I don't know, I think I'm supposed to have like a cape and like a crystal ball and all things. The fact of the matter is we, we're all born with disability, every single one of us. We've just been taught to forget it. We've been told, not you. That's up there, that's separate from us, but we really are part of that light. And so what I hope is that we bring ourselves back to what the soul notes to be true. And that is we can all do this. And we're supposed to be doing it. Our guides want us to do it so that we can navigate through this life, this big school, this earth, figure out and figure out what our soul came here to learn because we've all signed up for something.
Kate Hudson
Did you say that? And if you said that we, our Story we already know. Our story is that we do.
Oliver Hudson
I.
Kate Hudson
Well, does that imply that, you know, it's already been written?
Oliver Hudson
I think the. And this is just. My. Now, other spiritualists might disagree with me, but this is how I see it. I feel like we have signed up for the lessons. Maybe we signed up to learn lessons in fear this time around. Scarcity, like we were talking about imposter syndrome, whatever it is, and we're like, all right, you know, put that in my cart. I think I talk about it being like an Amazon cart, right? Soul comes in, we add some stuff in the cart. We know that this is supposed to enhance our soul's ascension in some way that's out of our realm of understanding. We're not meant to really understand that part of it just yet. But we come in with these, with these lessons that we pick how they come into fruition, though. I feel like, is that the good grace of the universe? I don't really know who'd come back, you know, if you believe in reincarnation, I mean, they're like, you know what? I'll take this horrible, terrible experience and deal with. I wouldn't come back, right? But I might come back and say, all right, I'll deal with fear in a different level. I'll deal with things that go on in the body in a different level. You know, maybe it's my health, I don't know, but I don't. It's just my own crazy thought, maybe, but I don't know who'd come back. And I think it's. I wouldn't.
Kate Hudson
The thing is, do we have the. Do you have the choice? I mean, of course this is all, you know, existential crazy stuff that you don't have any proof of. But. But we don't, you know, if reincarnation exists. I'm not sure we have the conscious decision making to be like, you know what? I think I'm just going to hang.
Oliver Hudson
You know, I don't know. I mean, I've done past life. I've done past life regression. I read past lives. I have done it in the past. I'm fascinated by them. I think that our soul learns each lifetime, like a very unique thumbprint, gets etched out and we learn from lifetime after lifetime. We bring lessons along. My understanding, just from my own connection and with my guides, is that the soul does take on something each lifetime and it is meant for its development. How we choose that and why, you know, there is that mystery. I don't. Again, I don't think we're supposed to know exactly everything. But I'm a. I am a definite believer in that. We come here to learn for sure. And that hope. I believe there's a great reason for it. There's a great reason for that. I mean, there's wonderful things on this earth as too. And I think when people get into deep spirituality, we have a tendency. You hear terms like raise your vibration and keep yourself elevated and all those things. It's very exhausting. Kind of we're supposed to sort of visit those places of higher vibration. But the fact of the matter is, is that we're earthly and we're here to figure stuff out.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
You know, and if we visit those places as a tool and come back and apply, observe and learn and teach and give and enrich ourselves and nourish, then we're doing something.
Kate Hudson
Yeah, yeah. It's, it's. It's. You know, I'm not a religious person. Religion, to me, I don't understand it. You know, it doesn't make sense to me. It feels elitist in the sense that, oh, well, this God is the God, but the thousands of others, the spirituality, the Maasai. So this. Oh, that's all bullshit because this is the guy. I mean, that's completely crazy to me, you know?
Oliver Hudson
You know, I didn't, I didn't go. I didn't grow up with a religion. I grew up as a spiritualist, and I craved that sort of conformity. I found it like. Again, I just wanted to be like everyone else, you know, I want to be normal. And so as I got older, I took on Catholicism. All it did was get me back to understanding a higher power. It got me back to respecting something greater than this, than this earth. And it would. And it helped very much in my parenting at the time and really understanding. As I've progressed on, I love to listen to different schools of thought of different religions and then apply what resonates with me most and allow myself to sort of just work with parts of that energy, but not in its entirety. I like. You think the universe is really vast. I think it's just infinite in its knowledge and infinite in its. In its, in its energy.
Kate Hudson
Well, I think, I think it speaks. I think it speaks to what we were talking about before, which is, you know, this manifestation idea. Yeah. Because it's almost like religion is a. Is just a tool to find faith, you know, because faith matters. I could have. I could have faith in. In, you know.
Oliver Hudson
Yeah.
Kate Hudson
In the six of spades. And if I believe in the six of Spades just as much as if someone does in, in God. And it's the same thing because I believe that this six of spades is going to satiate me. It's going to sort of protect me when things go wrong. Oh, it's the six of spades is the reason for it instead of God. It's like there's a reason. So that matters, I think, because you were actually, again, manifesting.
Oliver Hudson
I agree. At the end of the day, spirit doesn't really care about what you, how you believe in them.
Kate Hudson
Right, right.
Oliver Hudson
The universe doesn't really care as long as you're being, you know, good human and you're being kind and hopefully being kind and loving to yourself in the process. And that's what they're really here to help us to do. But they honestly, it, to me, it's always been a distraction. Like I said, it's more important about how are you processing that energy within yourself? Can you make that connection on a deeper level? They're not really very picky about how you do it, but if they have to use your frame of reference in order to get you fired up and to get you paying attention, then yeah, they're going to use that as a tool as well. Well, to get you going and to make that connection. So if you believe in the, you know, six of spades or whatever that card was, right. You're like, you know what? That's my jam. That's, that's where I resonate most. And it brings you, it brings you something good. Then go for it.
Kate Hudson
Yeah, no, for sure. I have a friend who's, you know, 50 years old and, you know, he's single and he wants love, but he's, it's just tough for him. And he's sort of an oddball, but, you know, he's just always searching for something and he found Catholicism and he just loved going to the church and he loved, you know, the sermons and he loved the people at the church and. And he actually ended up getting baptized.
Oliver Hudson
Yeah.
Kate Hudson
And of course I'm making fun of him because I'm like, what, dude, you got baptized? It's like, like it was crazy. But I said, I said, look, I'm. I'm non religious, you know, and he sends me all these, like, it's, it's now it's becoming, it's really, it's getting religious. But I think if this is making you feel good, if this is like bringing you peace and, and connecting you to something that is, you know, keeping your feet on the ground, Then great.
Oliver Hudson
I agree. I agree. I can sit in a church, I can sit in a temple, and I can sit at the beach and still feel grounded and peaceful and, you know, all of those things. So for me, again, it's like that we go back to that authenticity of who you are and how you want that to feel true within self and not have to work so hard. A lot of my students come to me, they're just working so hard trying to make that connection. And instead of working at trying to make it, let's just receive it. You just have to sit and receive it and you'll get activated, you'll get connected and you can have it be whatever you want it to be. I love that you're. That although you may not, may not be the way you would want to do it. You're happy for your friend. Yeah. Without judgment. Because you're just like releasing it. Yeah.
Kate Hudson
Zero judgment. But when I start getting, you know, memes about Adam and Eve, I'm like, dude, I like, I, I believe that we evolved. I'm sorry, I don't believe in Adam and Eve. You know, I mean, you don't, don't push it on me. Like, don't try to convert me. I'm like, I'm so happy for you. But I'm not gonna, I don't, I don't care about reading this passage or this or, you know, Noah's ark. And I'm like, okay, that's great. It's great. I'm happy. It's a great story and I'm glad you love it. But like, I don't, you know, just, just connect to it in a faith based situation. Let's talk about how it makes you feel. I'm down with that.
Oliver Hudson
You know, I'm down with that too.

Gatorade is the number one proven electrolyte blend designed to hydrate better than water so you can lose more sweat and raise your game. Gatorade is it in you. But as far as the manifesting goes, I would say just going back to that, you know, where I think people might get the wrong idea where it's like you're actively manifesting. I want this, I want that. It takes time, I would assume. Assume?
Oliver Hudson
Oh yeah.
Kate Hudson
Like you're putting it out there and then you never know when it's going to hit. And I'm, I'm prefacing by because of something that just happened to me. I've been an actor forever. The business is kind of anemic right now. I've always had a job, I've always been on a series and now I'm sort of piecing it together. I'm doing movies here, making money here, doing this, this and that. I love to talk. I love doing podcasts. I was been on, you know, Drew Barrymore show a few times, you know, just talking about love and relationships and trying to seed this idea of being sort of a host, you know, maybe even a daytime talk show guy, which is not really heard of. It's mostly women, but I think with the right guy it can work because it is mostly women if they like watching a man sort of be emotional and sensitive and talk about things. Anyway, I've always just said I kill a hosting job. Either the game show host, whatever it is, you know, and then the astro twins who we had on basically said, you know, July 27th in my chart there's some got some money coming. You're coming into your money, period, right now, you know, and, and this is going to be a good chunk, but it's. There's going to be a lot of money down the road or whatever. I said, oh, July 27th, so, so specific. I get an email with an offer to host a baking show for HBO Max, you know, and I'm like, well, that's weird, you know, and this isn't something I'm actively manifesting. I'm not sitting in meditation saying this is what I want, but I have thrown it out there to the universe where I just verbally talking to my agents, talking to my friends, talking to my parents. Like, I would kill a hosting job. So it happened. And the start date is July 27th, which is so. It's just so crazy.
Oliver Hudson
I love it. But you, you know, it's interesting about that. So you hear those thoughts coming out of you. Right. You know, I would. I would kill it. A host. I kill it hosting. I'd be so good. I'd be so good at it. If someone was talking to you and saying that, you know, you'd be really good at hosting. You should talk about that more. You should talk about that more. That's that universe coming in.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
Those thoughts in the higher self, letting you speak it out loud, they're like, all right, he's on it, he's on it. Let's give him a validation. Enter the twins. No denying it now. You marrying it up with your intuitive self. That's key. Manifesting in most natural form. You're like, something within me. This feels right. And you're like, you know what? I'm gonna set it and forget it. I don't know what it means right now, but that's cool. And someone else comes in saying, yeah, you know what? We see that for you. And here's when you trust the divine timing.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
You didn't lay too hard into it. You just know it might happen and that it feels good if it does.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
That to me, is the most natural form of manifesting.
Kate Hudson
Yeah. That's what it felt like. Because I've never been a active manifester, meaning, like, I'm gonna.
Oliver Hudson
Might be natural at it. You know, some people just really a natural. If you're. If you're a talker, especially, and speak out those dreams and you speak out what you're looking to do and looking to achieve, and it just feels natural to you. Universe has big ears.
Kate Hudson
Yeah.
Oliver Hudson
Listening.
Kate Hudson
Yeah. The universe is bigger.
Oliver Hudson
They really do.
Kate Hudson
All right, we're coming up on it, but I just want to know, you know, do you have to shut it off? Meaning, you know, I'm assuming you do as you're nodding, but, you know, it's like you almost have to turn the switch off. Right? I mean, you've got kids, you've got relationships, you've got friends, you've got all that, you know, you don't want to be, you know, seeing dead people. Right. It's just kind of like, okay, wait, I. I can't. I gotta switch this shit off.
Oliver Hudson
I. You know, look, you know, I. I.
Kate Hudson
Like, especially with your kids.
Oliver Hudson
Because I. I mean, my kids, my kids are like 26 and 24, you know, and my daughter would love for me to channel anytime up the day for her time. Right. But you know, I think what it has boiled down to just all the years that I've been doing this, been doing this a long time now. I just know that it's imperative to my own energy to shut it down. And just like I wouldn't like love an unannounced guest, you know, just knocking on my door and coming in. Same thing with, you know, some deceased loved ones, unless they're my own, because my family's good and pushy. They're. They're coming in, they're Italian, they don't care. They're knocking down my door in the middle of the night.
Kate Hudson
I mean, I got Italian horn.
Oliver Hudson
Yeah, right.
Kate Hudson
I'm only half, but my sister and I got each other them for Christmas.
Oliver Hudson
That's nice because you're supposed to give you.
Kate Hudson
I know, I. Exactly. You know, it's fucking crazy too. Sorry to interrupt. I was like, I got a great gift for Kate. I gave it to her. She starts crying and I'm like. I was like, kate, this isn't. I mean, it's like cute, but. What are you doing? She goes, hold on. She had gotten me one. I love it as well.
Oliver Hudson
I love it. I mean, you can't make that shit up.
Kate Hudson
No, I know, it's crazy. Anyway, sorry, keep going.
Oliver Hudson
So, yeah, so do I. Do I tell them Hefty? Not right now. Absolutely. And they never cease to amaze me. Honestly though, how they get through, it's pretty incredible. That part of the job.
Kate Hudson
Oh, yeah. Well, this has been awesome. Why don't you plug a few books though? And I want to get some.
Oliver Hudson
My book right now is coming out. Third book coming out is in pre order. It's called the Guides book. Mapping out life's journey with spirit by your side. And it's all about connecting with your guides and everything. We just talked about manifesting and how you can do it yourself and working through all the roadblocks in your life. And I talk about a lot of mine, so it's a little outside of my comfort zone, this book, but I went for it. Yeah, I was like, personal. Gotta share, gotta share. I have another book called Medium Mentor, which teaches you about your own psychic abilities and your own connection. And you can find everything@marianmarker.com I'm right there.
Kate Hudson
Awesome.
Oliver Hudson
Yep. And on Instagram, Mary in the Medium on Instagram?
Kate Hudson
Yeah. Mary in the medium on Instagram.
Oliver Hudson
Yep.
Kate Hudson
Okay, cool. Yeah, I'd love to read. I'd love to read some of these. I'm in a crazy reading phase of my life. I'm just.
Oliver Hudson
Oh my gosh. Read it and we will have, like, party discussion anytime you want.
Kate Hudson
All right, cool. I appreciate you. Thank you so much.
Oliver Hudson
Thanks so much for having me. I really appreciate it. I'd love to talk. Thank you.
Kate Hudson
Fun later.
Oliver Hudson
Take care.
Kate Hudson
Take care. That was great, man. She's rad. Just bang bang fast. You can feel the Italian in her too. Of course. Just. I'm gonna get those books. I'm gonna read those books. I'm always fascinated talking about this stuff because I. I sort of straddle the fence, you know what I mean? Like, I have skepticism at the same time. I believe, you know, so. But she makes it clear it's not magical like we are. We all have the ability to tap into something deeper within ourselves. And how far we take that is kind of up to us, I think. Anyway, I love you. I gotta go river rafting and I'll let you know how the river rafting goes. I'm out.

He emphasizes the importance of differentiating between ego-driven desires and those stemming from genuine intuition.
