And I met so many like fucking fierce ass faggots over there who does, like designing photography. Everyone's in there is just so good. And then shortly after I got back from Vietnam was when they called me and they were like, okay, this format is different. And then that's when I was like, you know what? Okay, I can get into it. And then, you know, we all, we, we, we schemed the grounds and then we're like, okay, this, this seemed legitimate. And then, yeah, then I said, yes,

Aww, you're so sweet. Well, during the pandemic was when, you know, TikTok started popping off. And then I always loved doing photography and filming. And that's why I love doing drag at the beginning because I could just do it all myself. I'm an Aries, so I'm super controlling about everything I do as well. So I have to find, like, if I work with someone, it has to be like minded. And I have to test the grounds, like, a lot before I get you to do, like, a big project. So, yeah, all the tiktoks prior to going on to a drag race was like, I filmed it all myself, edited. Steven will be, like, holding this one flickering light in the parking lot, and I'll be like, okay, babe, I'm gonna show my hole now. Okay, are we ready? And then cars be, like, driving by, and we're just, like, standing there with my, like, one fan, and they're just like, what is going on here? And I'm just in the parking lot just, like, bending over. But, yeah, everything. I filmed myself on my little phone. Nowadays, we have a little bit more help, like, collaborating with artists here and there who want to showcase their talent, but filming and everything right before I did it on myself. And.

Yeah, and how do you. And how do you be just conceptualizing it? You just be like, yo, I'm gonna just do something. Because obviously you clearly love anime and, like, so you'll be seeing a lot of that. Like, a lot of Sailor Moon refs and different things. Oh, my gosh. Well, I think, like, the beautiful thing about social media because is that you are constantly consuming, right? And then once you constantly consume something and you like the look of it, then I always revert. I was like, okay, I like this, but how can I make it like me? How can I make it more Asian? How can I make it cater to me rather than, like, copying it in another color or, like, doing it in different materials? That's how drag queens are, you know, like, how. But, like, how do I make it cater to me and, like, make it my own? Because I think, like, overall, so everything. Everything can be pretty, but, like, you always. Your eyes always fixated on the one thing that's different, right?

So, like, if you go to the route that. I think that's the thing I learned too, over the years, it's like I stopped being. I stopped being, like, so drawn to being pretty rather than just trying to be, like, different. So I think, like, the different route is what gets the attention. The listeners noticed already, but I was born in the States when I was one, and then my mom was a fucking mess, and then so they shipped me to live with, like, my family in St. Lucia. So I lived in St. Lucia by the time I was six months until I was 10 years old. And I came back here at 11 years old with, like, a thick ass Caribbean accent. Like, so, like, adjusting to American culture from the islands was so crazy and feeling, like, so weird at that age. Like, I realized that's something that we. That's. That's some connectivity we have for sure.

There are just so many different things. Like, I didn't grow up with, like, a lot of the cartoons people watched up here. Like, we would get cartoons, but they were, like, cartoons that were popular in the States, like, five years ago. So I was, like, always a little bit behind. So when I came here, I was, like, trying to play fucking catch up, girls. I try to, like, catch up to what my other friends were, like, watching in school so I could talk about shit in the lunchroom cafeteria, bitch.

Immediately, like, when I said I knew, like, I didn't know Beyonce was until I was like, four years ago. And that was, like, I was 21, so I was, like, literally 17 and didn't know who Beyonce was. I was dead ass. Serious dead ass.

Literally. And I was like, bitch. I didn't know who beyond. I didn't know. The only thing I watched when I was little was like, Cartoon Network and Hannah Montana. That thing caught me. That taught me English better than any ESL program that could ever. Yes, I was at. I had like a fancy little electronic dictionary and whenever I would, like, the. They would put on subtitles and I would translate every word, but I didn't understand grammar at the time. So then I would like, translate like T O or like dht. I'm like, what the does the this mean? And then they taught me in school, they're like, it don't mean anything. It's just grandma. And I'm like, what the is grandma? So I was on. So, like, see these things, like in your. Like, they don't get it. And, like, learning another language is just so crazy too.

Yes, girl. I mean, lucky for me, the main language of Saint Lucia is English. But, like, a lot of people speak what they call patois, like Creole, which is kind of like broken up French and English.

But I didn't.

That was the one thing that my family did. Like, they were like, well, we're just only going to teach you English, so when you go over there, you don't have the language. Yeah. So I didn't have to do that.
